Cheezy costume. How perfect for Kate.

Sorry, but that costume does nothing for her legs--she's kind of short-legged to begin with and the dropped waist is unflattering as well, IMO. BTW, why do so many people in "show business" do that fake, cheezy, open-jawed smile? They stick their tongue at the top of their teeth, too----it just looks so plastic and fake.

That costume reminds me of what Pink wore at the Grammy's (?) when she did the rope dangling but Kate added a white toga over it. The white on a white background makes half of her disappear; unfortunately not her mouth and boobs.

Glad I'm not the person who has to keep Kate's skin the same color as the costume.

The cheesy costumes make the show! Obviously you do not know anything about ballroom dancing! Complain all you want!

Welcome to the world of ballroom dancing! The glitz, and spray on tans are over the top. You'll love to see the segments they show about getting the tan sprayed on! Everyone does it. Kate will will love it (because it's free of course).

Don't be so quick to make critical comments on your fellow bloggers, especially when you have no idea who we are or what we know. Why don't you identify yourself as something other than anonymous?

FYI I am well aware of ballroom dancing as 2 of my cousins are professional ballroom dancers and have toured the USA and Europe. I've seen them perform in person many times. The costumes worn by all the dancers are beautiful and quite expensive.

I've also watched ballroom dancing on PBS for years. Don't like the trashy costumes but loved the flowing elegance of the waltz dresses.

IMO ballroom dancing is class and elegance. Not gymnastics. A dancer once defined dance as "a vertical expression of horizental desires."

Agreed, this a very expensive sport. PBS does a wonderful job at showcasing it. There are two sections to Ballroom dancing the first is Smooth dances which are done with elegance and grace. These include the waltzes, foxtrot etc. Second, ballroom also entails the the Rythem dances such as the latin, swing, jive etc. The costumes and moves are of course more risque.

I think ballroom dancing is kind of campy, I was never really into it. The only thing worse is ice dancing. But to each his own.

I also think Kate's legs look really short. I don't know if it's the angle or what. Does anyone know how tall she is? Even if she's tall her legs may be ill-proportioned, which doesn't bode well for danicng. It's not her fault her legs look stubby, but long thin legs make your dancing look better by default.

I think a color would have done wonders for her - actually for any woman over 30....

Very nice they have that toga-style of draping to cover up that boyish torso she has. We all remember those bikini pics from last year, right?

I've seen the pictures of Pam, Shannon, Nicole, Erin and Kate.
Gotta say that Kate is out of her league.
Pam and Nicole burn it up because they just ooze sex appeal.
Shannon looks like a bad-girl vixen.
Erin looks like the girl next door.
And then there is Kate. No sex appeal, looking pudgy in her dress. The ankle strap shoes accentuate her cankles. The wardrobe department will have to work extra hard to outfit Kate.

Is that the newest thing out,Inflatables.Look at the pictures of Katie on Jimmy kimmel and look at these pictures. It looks like the Girls moved up about 6 inches on her chest or is the gravity in LA that much stronger.Just asking?

I've watched ballroom dancing for years so the cheesy (but expensive) costumes are expected. But good grief, Kate looks ridiculous, like she's wearing a semi-toga. The fabric is obviously draped to hide her refrigerator body and stubby legs. Add the fake hair and foobs and that's an image I'm sure the kids will remember fondly in years to come: remember when mom dressed up like a hooker? Happy days.

Here's a bikini pic and a good example of Kate having a bad body for dancing. Doesn't mean you CAN'T dance, lots of people are able to compensate. Just saying it's harder. And doesn't mean anything is WRONG with her body. My body wasn't made for gymnastics, I'm too awkward. But it was made for basketball--I'm tall and agile.

You can see from the pics Kate isn't made for dancing because Kate has 1. no waist 2. no hips 3. stubby legs 4. thick thighs 5. wide feet

She does have nice arms, a decent long neck, and is physically fit, which will help.
