Truce called between Jon and Kate?

There are some really encouraging photos out there from earlier this week. Both Jon and Kate were spotted at the family home, at the same time. And both of them were out and about running errands and taking care of business. Kate the grocery shopping, Jon the garbage. Later, Kate took the kids to the bus stop.

And Kate's ditched the hooker heals for a sensible pair of sturdy sandals.

As for the Kate Kalendar? As long as Kate continues to allow the children's father to be in their lives instead of abandoning them with nannies as she did for the past several months, we'll leave her be.

PLEAASSSEE... this is just a ploy, for Kate to get to film the kids, and get out of Jon possible doing dammage in the courts. The heat was on, and she knew it. Jon is not thinking too dang wisely here. He always bends to her wishes. I think they have a sick sick relationship, and when she gets up again, he'll be at the bottom of the barrel.

If this is true, then this is one of the best things that could be happening to this family....Have they gone to their Parenting class yet? Divorced parents always need to remember that although their marriage is over, their parenting is not - and they need to keep it civil for the children.

And thank God the hooker heels are gone...!

Irene S said...

Well, she scrapped those heels fast now didn't she.

As far as these truce pictures. I tend to think of them more in terms of PR opportunities. But, it helps keep the timeline moving forward. Keep going Kate, pretend to be a mom, keep going forward.

So, great news for Jon hear he gets to pose for pictures at a bar Thursday. Wow, he sure is going places with TLC.

As far as Kate, she is sinking & TLC knows it. People have K1N1 at this point. She does not have a secure enough fan base moving forward.

X17 has an article stating that Jon has hired Mary Vidas, a lawyer based in Philly. She is known for her specialty, "Amicable Divorce". A "source" said that J&K figured out that they would do better in money matters if they remained amicable.
Does this mean that these grifters will be able to squeeze yet more money out of TLC and sponsors if they present a united front?
My guess is that Ms.Vidas has advised them to appear amicable.I don't believe for one minute that the children's best interests are the motive for this turnaround, it's the almighty dollar.
The article of April 7 on TMZ with the documents stating that, in addition to parenting class, the Gosselins are ordered to meet with a mental health professional, have been removed from that site.Suspicions confirmed: somebody has the power to relieve J&K from a legal duty that is mandatory for other divorced/divorcing parents.
It almost makes me want to give up. I said ALMOST.

PatK said...

Who are they kidding? Jon had to surrender his balls once again to have some money come his way. I agree it's great for the kids--but, come on--Kate never backs down unless it benefits her.

They're back to scamming again.

Can someone tell me how Kate wearing high heels has anything to do with the kids and why everyone calls them hooker heels? I work in a professional office setting and wear heels everyday. I also wear them on the weekends, unless I am out working in my garden. I just feel more comfortable in them!

Maybe she was building up her foot/leg muscles for DWTS? Maybe?

It is as fake as the lumps on Kates chest. My B.S. detector went off when the Paps snapped a picture of Jon, in the family driveway, or should I say, the driveway of his former family home. Jon was standing by the garage (AKA Stage) within a clear shot of the Paps. The motion pictures being taken at the moment had Kate getting out of her car by the front door and then, amazingly, they pan to Jon, standing there, looking in Kates direction and WALA....Jon waves to Kate. Give me a break. This is just the tip of the Kateberg, I mean Iceberg.

Next thing you'll see/read, is Jon doing a few cameo appearances on "KATES" show and then amazingly, the two of them are civil, even laughing with each other and the clincher will be some love tap from Kate to her "SILLY SILLY" ex husband.

The season finale will be Kate saying that she misses the Old Jon and he may have come back from the aliens that were keeping him hostage, leaving all the audience to believe that Jon and Kate may be getting back together. This will be the cliffhanger of the season.

Hell, perhaps, Jon and Kate will do to us what the producers did to us a couple decades ago on the hit show, " Southfork". Bobby Ewing dies at the end of the season and then next season, the plot thickens and we are made to believe that it was "All A Dream".

Stay tuned people and keep your B.S. repellant handy because we're going to be served a pant load of diaper dung the likes of which these kids couldn't have produced in combination for all the years they were in Huggies.

This is just "image making" on TLC's part. They knew Kate's glamour puss attitude was turning women off so they are toning it down and trying to make her more relatable.....and Jon? no words for that sell out, he is kissing ass at the expense of his own children just to line his pockets, I ain't buyin' any of their bulls**t.

I think it's more like she's playing the poor, depressed diva, and figured the tennis shoes fit that role. She'll be back in the hooker heels when she figures she's garnered enough sympathy from her loving fans.

AuntieAnn said...

Admin,
To answer your question, I think the people that own them are trying to revamp them. They want them to appear more 'folksie', ya know, so all of us dumb hicks can relate. It worked in the beginning, thats how they got such a large viewership. Some saw through it, others stuck with them and became loyal fans.

No, these two are pulling off another stunt. I'm not falling for it. They've both cried wolf too many times.

Kate's dying to get back into those stilettos.

Kelly said...

I could care less if Kate wears hooker heels the size of a circus clowns stilts. How she dresses is of no concern to me. What she does for a living is totally up to her. The only thing that concerns me is the fraud she and her husband have perpetrated these past couple of years, the exploitation of the children and the shameless determination to make those kids support Jon and Kate and not the other way around.

Kate can wear a matching set of pasties, a fig leave for her nether regions and a designer pair of snow shows the size of Rhode Island anywhere her twisted mind desires. Just don't pimp her kids for money and a lifestyle.

HLC said...

I think all of the analysis of the reasoning for Kate's choice of shoes is a bit much. I also wear heels most all the time. It's her body and feet; I see no reason why she can't wear what she wants. You will never see me out in public in tennis shoes unless I am at the gym or on a walk (for exercise).

She is a hag. Look at that face. Does she look like someone in their mid 30's? Not anyone I know. Whoever did the bitch's hair did not do her a favor, that is for sure. If she kept it short, but cut off that hide my wonky eye bang, perhaps it really would've suited her. This does nothing for her.

I used to stick up for Jon, hoping that he would step up, grow up and take responsibility as much as he could given that his ex is one of the most hated and hateful women in the country. If he, if they have been playing us and get back together for a TV show including the kids --- I will be reassessing his character. Jon and Kart can do anything they like by themselves. Please just don't put the kids back to work for goodness sake.

Isn't that the truth.

Kelly,
I loved the Dallas show. Kate isn't that smart though. She would not let Jon on her new shows if her last meal of Nobu was at stake.

You have to give Kate this she admits to sending a book to a publisher with strict orders for no editing. What happens to the book? It tanks. Lordie bee....what a dummy is Kate.

Remember the cookbook? The clothing line? The talk show host? Kate is on her way down the rollerKoaster of fame. And she will not bow out gracefully.

LoveMyHeels said...

I don't think one fan or supporter of Kate's care what kind of shoes she wears. It makes sense that Kate wore them getting ready for DWTS.

Irene S said...

Maybe she was building up her foot/leg muscles for DWTS? Maybe?

No offense but it surely did Kate no favors if that is what she was doing. She sucked on DWTS big time. Bergeron said the ratings were steady over 20 million last night. (Entertainment weekly) ABC is thrilled with the show. And, I am sure Kate was alot easier to get rid of then we thought. She did herself no favors being on that show.

*Sugar&Spice* said...

I dont care for either or. Not taking Kate's side. But she could of been wearing the "hooker heals" to start building up the muscles in her legs. Plus since she was wearing them very frequently. Her " so called dancing" would be easier on her feet. Any ways her sandals look like shape ups from sketchers. They are new product to help shape your legs and buns. She probably got them free with all the swag.

I'm surprised that kate's book tour hasn't happened yet. I wonder if its deal with poor sales of the book?

Wiley C said...

Maybe Kate is finally realizing she's not such hot stuff after all. Who knows? And really, who cares anymore? If we had all just ignored her she'd have been a persona non grata a long time ago. No one liked HER, it was her kids.

And we can only hope TLC wakes up and realizes those kids should not be on TLC. Hey, it can happen, right?

GKWay said...

Not to offend some of the posters as all of you are great but why is Khate's hooker heels or whatever heels she is or is not wearing relevant? She can be wearing a clown costume for all I care as long as she is being a loving parent...but I guess that would be too much to ask for. Gotta say Jon has truly been a disappointment for me and the time I spent being supportive of him has been a big waste of time. The only person(s) that can help the G8 kids I hope if Rep Murt, AMC, Kevin/Jodi. So sad :(

Count me in the club "not caring" what kind of shoes she wears. Actually, I've been a bit envious of a couple pairs I've seen her in. I too wear heels almost daily, I have a professional job and dress as such. But I also wear heels on dress down fridays with jeans, and just as frequently on the weekends.

My biggest bitch with KrappyKate is the totally FAKE FAKENESS of the whole "image." I don't care if she's on TV (she was a laugh a minute on DWTS), I don't care if she's doling out advice to women TLC has paid to get on her "twisted" show, I don't care if she's earning buckets of money ---> as long as SHE'S earning it, not the kids.

I'd love to see the kids be able to spend some of mommy's big bucks instead of their own. But, back to my BITCH part: I don't care how many nannies she's got, household staff inside and out, doing the cooking, cleaning, shopping, yardwork, yada yada yada ... if she can bring in the $$ to pay for it, good for her. But don't keep "selling" the super-mommy image to the mindless masses. Body guards, manis/pedis, spa time, tanning, plastic surgery, whatEVER!

But own it, KrappyKate. You are NOT a single mom out there sweating it out trying to make a buck to put food on the table for your poor kids with the uncertain future. You got the cash to pay for the help, then give the freaking HELP the credit.

She is trying to SELL this image of the poor divorced mother all alone struggling to get through one day at a time. Sorry, honey! but that ain't kate. That may be the story of the girl who does kate's hair, but it AIN'T kate's story. And THAT is the lie, the IMAGE they are trying to "market." THAT is what bugs me more than anything. She, her whole life she puts out there for public consumption, is the biggest LIE of all.

OK! Rant OVER.

So Jon dropped the custody case. No surprise there. Money talks.

Kelly said...

I don't think Kate has cooks, gardeners, landscapers, nannys, housekeepers and bodyguards.

Kate does this all by herself. She get's up at the crack of dawn and trust me, the crack of Dawn looks a whole lot better than she does at anytime of the day. I digress. She sleep walks over to her bedroom door, unlocks the deadbolts on the bedroom door, turns off the alarm system, the laser surveilence system, empty's the water out of the moat and exits the bedroom complete with fuzzy brown wing tip slippers and plenty of duck crap in the folds of her eyes.

As she enters the kitchen, lightening and thunder erupt, cats jump up on the window sills and an harsh breeze plows across the cold hardwood floors and the icy cold granite counter tops.

She plugs in the coffee maker, turns on the oven, pulls out the Kenmore mixer and proceeds to whip up a couple of skids of sticky buns, bean casserrole, fruit salad and a stars and stripe cake worthy of a personal salute from Uncle Sam.

The kids are of age to dress themselves and as they all polish off the ship load of food, Kate hops in the Brockway and delivers the 8 to the waiting school bus.

ON the way back home, Kate does all the shopping, pays all the bills and stops to part the waters of the Susquehanna River in an effort to assist the spawning striped bass who are enroute on their journey down to the Chesapeake Bay and points southward.

Once home and having parked her Semi in the circular drive, Kate hops on the Husgavarna lawn tractor and manicures the zoysia grass to a perfect trim leaving nothing behind but the straight line from the wheels. She then heads to the veggie garden to tend to the acres of organic fruits and vegetables that are as high as an elephants eye and they look like they're climbing clear up to the sky. Oh what a beautiful morning it's been for Kate.

She's accomplished all of this by her self. The rest of the day is spent painting murals on the childrens bedroom walls, planning her meals for 2011 and texting all of her fans and detractors to let them know she is thinking of them in the best of ways.

Kate heads off to the master bath for a moment of much deserved pampering. As she proceeds to pass the most beautiful rose bush, without stickers, through the ceramic bowl, she is thinking about her next project that will benefit those less fortunate than her, in ways they will be most thankful.

It's days end now for Kate. The kids have been neatly tucked away in their goose down comforters, the bills paid, the dinner banquet meticuously cleaned up and put away for another day, Kate heads back into the master bedroom, secures the deadbolts, fills the moat, sets the multitude of alarms and lays her weary, giving, thoughtful, selfless head on the cot she deems she is worthy of, while her other charges are dreaming happily in their sound sleep.

Good night Kate my fair lovely. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

My impression....first, I think that Jon and Kate both being with the children together and being civil to each other is....fantastic. Any good child psychologist who counsels divorced or divorcing couples with children will tell them to get along for the children. They don't have to love each other and don't even have to like each other, but they should get along for the sake of the children and the children will benefit the most from this approach.

Second, I've read lots of comments all over the net by people suspicious that this has been a ploy all along or that J&K are in this together and will reconcile and get the show going again.
But, IMO, this would never fly. You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. The majority of the audience who initially watched the show are now disgusted with them....and to boot, they'd feel duped and be suspicious if this were to happen.

If this is the plan, it's not a very smart one....as only the die-hard fans would still watch...and even among those limited few, the man-haters among them might not want to watch Kate go back with him....so they could even lose some of them.

And I do agree with those who think they might be reading the blogs and writing the script and advising J&K how to act, what to do and what to wear, etc.

However, since this is something that is good for the children....I will have to say that I'm happy to see both parents there with them and apparently all getting along.

No dammit, she pulls out the Kitchen Aid mixer, which I'd I'd give my right arm to have. Saw her coming out of Target w/it!!! Guess she's getting it for her chef.

Rep. Murt has called me twice, knowing I cannot vote for him, as I'm sure many of you can't. That alone tells me he must be genuinely concerned about these children! The emails I've sent him, were of vids/shots that we all are concerned about that appeared on TV in the past. I'm wrestling w/whether, while he's working on those entertainment industry laws, to ask him if he'd look into child abuse laws. I'm just afraid he will then think I'm being over-the-top snarkish only having the Leah spanking to share (and the red spoon in the car door). What do you all think? Have any of you broached the subject of abuse w/him? I'm just curious if so, what his reaction was.

dee3 said...

WHOA! I live in a neighboring state and it's WAY too cold to be exposing your belly here. I had a lightweight hoodie on and added a jacket on top of that. And yes, windy...which makes it feel even colder. It's 57 degrees out right now.

OK...still mulling over these latest events. I think that TLC had a huge hand in getting Jon to drop this custody suit and probably told him they'd help with his child support also. It was just way too risky to have this custody thing go forward with the Rep. Murt stuff going on.
Not sure how it went down exactly...maybe someone from the PA. dept. of labor told TLC that Rep. Murt wasn't F'ing around and they'd better be careful...or the children were gonna end up with guardians, etc.

And for once in their lives, TLC decided to take the safe route....compared to their previous "we do whatever the hell we want" when it came to the Gosselins.

Since I've said all along that I am here mainly for the children, I am happy that the two of them are together with them....that's a major improvement over what was happening before...I don't even care what the motives are...it's good for the children.

This is just my opinion, but based on what I've recently read here about the lax child abuse laws in PA, the specific issue of Kate being abusive to her children (spanking, the wooden spoon, etc.)...would be, IMO, much more difficult to make a case over than the issue with the children being shown unclothed, in underwear, on the potty, and what they did in the potty.

I think that a parent's right to punish their child (per the lax PA laws) would be much hairier than the issue of showing nudity and excretory function of children on TV, on CD's and on you-tube. I'm thinking that might be what is really upsetting Rep. Murt....because TLC would be the ones mainly accountable for this. You can always claim that the parents didn't realize but for the corporation, it's a whole different level of responsibility and culpability.
Again, just my opinion.

Virginia Pen Mom said...

Carolina Gal,

I think you should stick with the reality show legislation, JMHO. Changing abuse laws would be a whole 'nother ball of wax--plus, the Gosselin proof is sketchy and circumstantial, though probably occurring. Perhaps, casually, you can mention rumors of child abuse, "moral concerns of staffers who left..." without actually asking him to investigate. It might get him thinking and maybe more definite proof will surface in the meantime?

If Rep. Murt can just get the reality laws in place, at least that form of exploitive abuse will (hopefully) grind to a halt in PA. We can dream?

I am so encouraged, amazed, and grateful for what many of you have put into reaching Rep. Murt and his over-the-top genuine concern. As Carolina Gal said, it's clear she can't vote for him. Yet he's still responsive. May we have more representatives across the country of that caliber!

Con't of letter to Rep Murt:

I'm not sure if you are aware or not but Canada does not have a spotless record either and when you do your research, you will see that in history, the Canadian government exploited and made millions of dollars off the backs of the Dionne quintuplets. Out of the 5 Dionne sisters only 2 are alive today and if you read their stories, none of them had a 'childhood' much less a successful and happy life as an adult.

The difference between the Dionne sisters and the Gosselin kids is that nowadays, we see the Gosselin kids on TV in the comfort of our homes where the Dionne sisters were paraded around similar to a zoo-like setting. People came to "Quintland", paid their ticket and got to watch the girls living their 'everyday' lives. Also while it was the Province of Ontario that benefited from the exploitation of the Dionne sisters, for the Gosselin kids, it is the powerful corporation of the media (TLC / Discovery) as well as their parents who are benefiting from this exploitation.

Here is some information for you regarding the Dionne sisters for your research on child exploitation.

http://hubpages.com/hub/Human-Exploitation---The-Dionne-Quintuplets

http://www.heroines.ca/people/dionne.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionne_quintuplets

Back in 1997, three of the remaining Dionne sisters wrote an Open Letter which was published in Time Magazine (Dec 1, 1997) to the McCaughey Family after they had their septuplets:

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,987457,00.html
Dear Bobbi and Kenny,
If we emerge momentarily from the privacy we have sought all our adult lives, it is only to send a message to the McCaughey family. We three would like you to know we feel a natural affinity and tenderness for your children. We hope your children receive more respect than we did. Their fate should be no different from that of other children. Multiple births should not be confused with entertainment, nor should they be an opportunity to sell products.
Our lives have been ruined by the exploitation we suffered at the hands of the government of Ontario, our place of birth. We were displayed as a curiosity three times a day for millions of tourists. To this day we receive letters from all over the world. To all those who have expressed their support in light of the abuse we have endured, we say thank you. And to those who would seek to exploit the growing fame of these children, we say beware.
We sincerely hope a lesson will be learned from examining how our lives were forever altered by our childhood experience. If this letter changes the course of events for these newborns, then perhaps our lives will have served a higher purpose.
Sincerely, Annette, Cecile and Yvonne Dionne
I hope you will take some of the above examples of early child exploitation and see the similarities to that of the Gosselin kids. As the saying goes, "history will repeat itself if we do not learn from our past".

Thank you again for taking the time to read my letter and giving me the opportunity to express my concerns.

Warm regards from Canada,

I sat down and wrote a letter to Rep Murt, sent it to his yahoo email and official email:

Sorry for the long post!
********************

Dear Representative Murt,

I am not sure if you will take my comments as I am a Canadian citizen but since I have watched some of the shows originating from the US (in particularly TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8), I wanted to let you know that what you are doing for the Gosselin Kids and all children involved in scripted, 'non-Reality'' TV is to be commended.

I am saddened to hear that the Gosselin kids will once again be on TV and have received their 'work permits' as required by the Department of Labour in PA. In the past, both Mr and Mrs. Gosselin have insisted that the kids were not working but rather just living their everyday lives but since they need work permits, I would assume that it is recognized that those kids are in fact working and supporting their parents. The fact that these kids have not been protected financially and emotionally by TLC/Discovery or their own parents causes concern. They have essentially been working since they were babies and toddlers and all the material wealth that Mr and Mrs. Gosselin have enjoyed in the past 5 years are due to their own children.

The recent pictures of the kids in the media show them looking sad, bewildered and lost. As a mom of 2 boys and I'm sure any person with some sort of compassion will agree that seeing children in distress is upsetting.

I find it appalling that no fines, penalty or sanctions were given TLC/Discover whatsoever after an 'exhaustive' investigation of approximately 19 months. To the average citizen, this scenario causes concern as it has the perception of the Department of Labour being 'paid-off' or 'bribed' with a promise of continuous revenue from this media company. There is definitely a conflict of interest in this regard. How can an exhaustive investigation involve absolutely NO home visits, NO discussions with the children, NO questioning the neighbours (both in the Elizabethtown neighbourhood and their current neighbourhood).

See con't of letter..

As to why Murt is using yahoo mail? I haven't a clue. It's posted on his official site as an address, and it seems completely legitimate to me.

Thomas Murt has gone out of his way to contact (from what I can tell) everyone who has written him. Of course he IS a politician, but many of us are in states (and even countries!) where our votes have no impact on his career. A cynic might say he is attempting to make a name for himself on this issue. Even if that's the case, who cares? Right now he seems like our best hope in protecting these children.

IDModo said...

Reality Bites: That was the address on the email he sent me. I sent mine to his official email address on his government website. If the email wasn't from him, how would he get my email address? Someone on another blog said he called her in the evening so I am assuming that he emailed from home after work.I think he is a person who doesn't stop working at 5:00.

PS. For those who asked: All my correspondence with him has been about the child abuse laws, not the labour laws.He is well aware of the inadequacy of the PA child abuse laws and is looking into writing new legislation.I have suggested that he take a look at the abuse laws in some other jurisdictions and believe that he is doing so.

I love how anyone who wants to help these poor exploited Dionne/Gosselin kids is looked at as suspicious, must have an alterior motive, etc. Brother.

I also hope Rep. Murt continues researching this child exploitation issue and doesn't let up until all of his questions are answered. It can only HELP these children who are being underpaid and mistreated by the corporate honchos whose number one priority is the bottom line. Second priority, you've got to keep mom and dad happy because they're the ones that okay the filming of their children. And then, finally, third on the list comes the children.

CHILDREN SHOULD ALWAYS BE FIRST PRIORITY.

You know, from looks of Kate in the photos, I'd say she's in her depressive swing. She had a real high going there for a time on DWTS. People were fawning over her, she got to wear Hollywood dress-up clothes, got free manicures, got her face painted up, she was right in there pretending to a real celebrity and then poof, got her ass kicked off and now she won't even watch the show cuz it makes her sad not to be with her new family. Jon is sticking around because he knows what she's like when she gets pouty. He put his leash back on for a few days so she won't scream at the kids and slap them around. And TLC probably told to him to play nice or they'll slap him with another lawsuit.

GKWay said...

I'm not sure why the first part of my letter to Rep Murt did not make it thru but here it is:

The part about the Dionne sisters should be the 2nd (con't) part:
***********

AuntieAnn,
What you say makes some logical sense to me. Kate looks and sounds dejected. After all the excitement of DWTS it would be natural to feel disappointed, but Kate seems to be mourning the loss somewhat openly.

IATK,
Narcissists hate rejection. Poor Katie got a reality check out in California. She found out she's not a superstar, she's just a joke to the big players and she didn't win DWTS like she said she would. Her book isn't getting the accolades she thought it would either. Dark days at the Gosselin household I'd say.

Just as a contrast in class (as in one person has it and one doesn't), on Monday, Buzz Aldrin tweeted that he was leaving his book signing (where both of his books sold out)and was on his way to dwts to support his fellow castmates. Kate? Not so much support...not so much sold out books, either.

Amen to that, just.me! We need lawmakers to get involved. Paul Peterson, Z on TV, and dedicated bloggers can only do so much as long as child exploitation and labor are perfectly legal and with virtually no oversight. (Welcome to the 1890's--today's sweat shops with children grinding away for 12 hour days. I tell you, in years to come, this situation will be an oddity as that was.)

Compare the write ups from ROL and INF Daily. Can you guess which one is on the payroll?

ROL:
Can you believe this woman has had eight kids?!!
Kate Gosselin showcased her amazing toned and tan body Wednesday, as she left the gym and headed to an organic café in Wyomissing, PA, and RadarOnline.com can bring you the photos.

Dressed in her workout gear Kate displayed a washboard stomach with a crop Nike top and low riding sweatpants.

Most women who haven’t had children would die for a body like this, let alone those that have!

Eat your heart out Jon, this is what you’re missing!

INF Daily:

Kate Gosselin was out and about today - baring her midriff. I'll wait while your nausea subsides.

Kate went for a workout. Okay, I guess you're allowed to show your stomach while you're doing that - though you don't have to. But when you walk out of the place, how hard is it to zip your jacket? I mean most people change clothes completely, not wanting to walk around in sweaty, grubby duds. But if you're gonna go the lazy route, can't you at least be a tad considerate about it?

Kate then stopped by an organic cafe on her way home. Apparently "no shoes, no shirt, no service" doesn't apply as long as you're wearing 1/2 of a top. Seriously, there is nothing organic - or okay - about walking into a cafe with your stomach displayed for everyone's visual discomfort.

That said, Kate's stomach does look pretty toned, presumably thanks to her time on Dancing with the Stars. Even if you're the worst dancer ever, your stomach clearly reaps some benefits from rhythmless gyrating

I guess Rep. Murt is suspicious because he is a politician who actually CARES about his constituents and actually CARES what happens in his own state and to its most vulnerable of citizens. AND who is willing to listen to input from citizens.
I don't call that suspicious. I call that fantastic. Bravo Rep. Murt! (and I'm not even a Republican)

Re: Email address - if Rep. Kudos to everyone looking out for the Gosselin kids and taking the time to express their thoughts and opinions to Rep. Murt. The media has done a great disservice to the Gosselin kids by glamorizing their mother and demonizing their father - all for ratings - never for the truth.

Why would Rep. Murt be using a yahoo email as opposed to his official PA one?

Ahahahaaaa, this is a no brainer - in fact I'm willing to bet my last paycheck that it was because his work email address no doubt was FLOODED with emails from people from all over the world that it choked the PA govt server.

So now Rep. Murt is asking that the yahoo address be used. Course this is also a good way to keep all the emails about the Gosselins "sorted" too and keeping the other "work related" emails separate.

I'm just happy that Rep. Murt is addressing this issue and I don't care what email address is used to contact him. Someone in PA gives a damn, can make a difference so there is HOPE for the 8 kids.

Bottom Line: There is NOTHING suspicious whatsoever in him using a yahoo address. What is funny is that there are people out there who think that only a few people would would actually take the time to write a letter to Rep. Murt. Boy, are they wrong! As it is he has gotten letter from France, Canada and of course mmy letter which came from California.

Yep, that's right, a lot of people are upset about what has happened to these children.

GO REP MURT!!!

Excellent info on NPD by Dr. Sam Vaknin

"The narcissist is chronically depressed and anhedonic (finds no pleasure in life). Unable to love and, in the long run (as a result), unloved, the narcissist is ever in the pursuit of excitement and drama intended to alleviate his all-pervasive boredom and melancholy. The narcissist is a drama queen.

Needless to say that both the pursuit itself and its goals must conform to the grandiose vision that the narcissist has of his (False) Self. They must be commensurate with his view of his own uniqueness and entitlement.

The process of seeking excitement and drama cannot be deemed by the narcissist or by others to be humiliating, belittling or common. The excitement and drama generated must be truly unique, ground breaking, breathtaking, overwhelming, unprecedented, and, under no circumstances, routine.

Actually, the very act of dramatisation is intended to secure ego-syntony. "Surely, the dramatic is special, meaningful, eternal, and memorable" – says the narcissist to himself – "Just like me. I, myself, am dramatic (therefore I exist)." The narcissist – always a pathological liar and the chief victim of his own stratagems and deceit – can (and does) convince himself that his antics and exploits are significant.

Thus, existential boredom, self-directed aggression (depression), and the compulsive quest for excitement and titillating drama lead to the relentless pursuit of Narcissistic Supply (NS).

The processes of obtaining, preserving, accumulating and recalling Narcissistic Supply take place in the Pathological Narcissistic Space (PNS). This is an imaginary environment, a comfort zone, invented by the narcissist. It has clear geographical and physical boundaries: a home, a neighbourhood, a city, a country.

The narcissist strives to maximise the amount of Narcissistic Supply that he derives from people within the PNS. There, he seeks admiration, adoration, approval, applause, or, as a minimum: attention. If not fame – then notoriety. If not real achievements – then contrived or imagined ones. If not real distinction – then concocted and forced "uniqueness".

Narcissistic Supply substitutes for having a real vocation or avocation and actual achievements. It displaces the emotional rewards of intimacy in mature relationships. The narcissist is ruefully aware of this substitutive nature, of his inability to have a go at "the real thing". His permanent existence in fantasyland – intended to shield him from his self-destructive urges – paradoxically only enhances them.

This state of things makes him feel sad, enraged at his helplessness in the face of his disorder, and at the discrepancy between his delusions of grandeur and reality (the Grandiosity Gap). It is the engine of his growing disappointment and disillusionment, his anhedonia and impotence, his degeneration and ultimate ugly decadence.

The narcissist ages disgracefully, ungraciously. He is not a becoming sight as his defences crumble and harsh reality intrudes: the reality of his self-imposed mediocrity and wasted life. These flickers of sanity, these reminders of his downhill path get more ubiquitous with every day of confabulated existence.

The more fiercely the narcissist fights this painfully realistic appraisal of himself – the more apparent its veracity. Infiltrated by the Trojan Horse of his intelligence, the narcissist's defences are overwhelmed and this is followed by either spontaneous healing or a complete meltdown.

The narcissist's PNS incorporates people whose role is to applaud, admire, adore, approve and attend to the narcissist. Extracting Narcissistic Supply from them calls for emotional and cognitive investments, stability, perseverance, long-term presence, attachment, collaboration, emotional agility, people skills and so on.

Part II:

But all this inevitable toil contradicts the deeply ingrained conviction of the narcissist that he is entitled to special and immediate preferential treatment. The narcissist expects to be instantaneously recognised as outstanding, talented, and unique. He does not see why this recognition should depend on his achievements and efforts. He feels that he is unique by virtue of his sheer existence. He feels that his very life is meaningful, that it encapsulates some cosmic message, mission, or process.

Narcissistic Supply obtained through the investment of efforts and resources, such as time, money and energy is to be expected, routine, mundane. In short: it is useless. Useful Narcissistic Supply is obtained miraculously, dramatically, excitingly, surprisingly, shockingly, unexpectedly and simply by virtue of the narcissist being there. No action is called for, as far as the narcissist is concerned. Cajoling, requesting, initiating, convincing, demonstrating, and begging for supply are all acts which starkly contrast with the grandiose delusions of the narcissist.

Additionally, the narcissist is simply unable to behave in certain ways, even if he wanted to. He cannot get attached, be intimate, persevere, be stable, predictable, or reliable because such conduct contradicts the Emotional Involvement Prevention Measures (EIPM). This is a group of destabilising behaviours intended to forestall future emotional pain inflicted on the narcissist when he is abandoned or when he fails.

If the narcissist does not get attached – he cannot be hurt. If not intimate – he cannot be emotionally (or otherwise) blackmailed. If he does not persevere – he has nothing to lose. If he does not stay put – he cannot be expelled. If he rejects or abandons – he cannot be rejected or abandoned.

The narcissist anticipates the inevitable schisms and emotional abysses in a life fraught with gross dishonesty. He shoots first. Indeed, it is only when he is physically mobile and besieged by problems that the narcissist has a respite from his maddeningly nagging addiction to Narcissistic Supply.

This is the basic conflict of the narcissist. The two mechanisms underlying his distorted personality are incompatible. One calls for the establishment of a PNS and for the continuous gratification. The other urges the narcissist not to embark on any long-term project, to move, to disconnect, to dissociate.

Only others can provide the narcissist with his badly needed doses of Narcissistic Supply. But he is loath to communicate and to associate with them in an emotionally meaningful way. The narcissist lacks the basic skills required in order to obtain his drug. The very people who are supposed to sustain his grandiose fantasies through their adoration and attention – mostly find him too repulsive, eccentric (weird) or dangerous to interact with. This predicament can be aptly called The Narcissistic Condition.

I came across this when trying to research these latest reports about Kate being depressed and having post-DWTS stress disorder (PTSD)....and trying to learn how depression occurs in those with NPD.

I was researching NPD and depression...to see how depression manifested itself when one has NPD. Really fascinating article.

dee3 said...

Wow, these articles are really fantastic:

Moreover, he imposes his personal mythology on his nearest and dearest. Spouse, children, colleagues, friends, neighbors - sometimes even perfect strangers - must abide by the narcissist's narrative or face his wrath. The narcissist countenances no disagreement, alternative points of view, or criticism. To him, confabulation IS reality.

The coherence of the narcissist's dysfunctional and precariously-balanced personality depends on the plausibility of his stories and on their acceptance by his Sources of Narcissistic Supply. The narcissist invests an inordinate time in substantiating his tales, collecting "evidence", defending his version of events, and in re-interpreting reality to fit his scenario. As a result, most narcissists are self-delusional, obstinate, opinionated, and argumentative.

The narcissist's lies are not goal-orientated. This is what makes his constant dishonesty both disconcerting and incomprehensible. The narcissist lies at the drop of a hat, needlessly, and almost ceaselessly. He lies in order to avoid the Grandiosity Gap - when the abyss between fact and (narcissistic) fiction becomes too gaping to ignore.

The narcissist lies in order to preserve appearances, uphold fantasies, support the tall (and impossible) tales of his False Self and extract Narcissistic Supply from unsuspecting sources, who are not yet on to him. To the narcissist, confabulation is not merely a way of life - but life itself.

We are all conditioned to let other indulge in pet delusions and get away with white, not too egregious, lies. The narcissist makes use of our socialization. We dare not confront or expose him, despite the outlandishness of his claims, the improbability of his stories, the implausibility of his alleged accomplishments and conquests. We simply turn the other cheek, or meekly avert our eyes, often embarrassed.

Moreover, the narcissist makes clear, from the very beginning, that it is his way or the highway. His aggression - even violent streak - are close to the surface. He may be charming in a first encounter - but even then there are telltale signs of pent-up abuse. His interlocutors sense this impending threat and avoid conflict by acquiescing with the narcissist's fairy tales. Thus he imposes his private universe and virtual reality on his milieu - sometimes with disastrous consequences.

You're right, excellent article. If Kate's name was juxtaposed everywhere it reads the narcissist/he, it would describe her to a T.
Maybe that's why Barbara Walters found her so fascinating? Kate really is a textbook example. It's a very serious disorder and unfortunately the kids are going to suffer for it for the rest of their lives.

On the lighter side of things, Kate's behavior is also very similar to the queen in a nest of fire ants. She's the largest individual in the colony whose primary function is reproduction; Males mate with the queen for the sole purpose of producing offspring. Their lifespan is approximately three days (lol, Jon). The workers are sterile females who build and repair the nest, care for the young, defend the nest, and feed both young and adult ants. The worker ants also go find supplies to build up the colony.

Great. So, who wants to be a nanny now?

Kate, Start Parenting!

For weeks, American reality TV star Kate Gosselin left her 1.2 million dollar home in Wernersville, Penn., to fly to Los Angeles to rehearse and perform on Dancing with the Stars. She even built a rehearsal space in her basement to practice in between shows. People.com reports that she enjoyed getting advice from former Playboy bunny Pamela Anderson on how to be a single mom. And according to Kate, her children were all for mommy leaving them each week.

Who are we kidding? Show me a single mom with eight children whose priority is to get her body back into shape (Kate's stated goal) by leaving her children for weeks at time. How do plastic surgeries and makeovers help her children?

"My heart is always in my kitchen, baking and cooking for my kids, and I'll always be there."

Really? Can we stop the charade? Dancing with the Stars is much more exciting than being home with eight children baking cookies. I get that, but do not use your children as an excuse to live the high life and hob-nob with the stars. And Kate, it is possible to dictate a contract stating you will do the show if you can have your children with you!

Kate has been bitten by the celebrity bug. She has tasted fame and wealth, and loves the camera. She knows that celebrity is her ticket to making money. Just admit it and we can all move on. Stop pretending to be an everyday mom sacrificing for the children. We are not so naïve as to think that her appearances on Dancing with the Stars have nothing to do with her upcoming book release and new TV show.

Look, I understand the pull of stardom, but let's consider the impact all of this on the kids. Their lives are on constant display. It's hard enough for children to go through a divorce without adding absence and celebrity drama to their lives. And what mother thinks that six-year-olds can make decisions about whether or not she should go to Hollywood?

My advice to Kate (and I know she isn't asking) is be a mom. Stop the madness and get some perspective. Make an appointment with a marital therapist and try to end the contention with Jon that continues to get played out in the press. Create a routine for those kids. Help them adjust to all the changes. Stop asking the multiples what you should do and find another source for parenting advice (not Pamela Anderson). The children need a mom and a dad who are physically, emotionally, and spiritually present, and who can guide them through everything that has happened to them so far. It is not too late to pull back and give them a more normal life, but it will require some tough choices. And hey, now you can bake cookies with kids!

It says he started something called Total Leadership Connections with someone from the Wasll Street Journal, whatever "started" is supposed to mean.

"Started "Total Leadership Connections" with Sylvia Lafair, check it out her work in Wall Street Journal. See link above. "

What's interesting is the name has familiar first letters: TLC! ;)

Admin,
To answer your question, I think the people that own them are trying to revamp them.

Do you wear them when you are going on an Easter Egg hunt? Or walking with your kids at a Dude Ranch?

Maybe she was building up her foot/leg muscles for DWTS? Maybe?

Do you think team Kate told her to toss the hooker heals? I mean honestly she's worn those every day for the past 9 months.
