DWTS Episode 4 Discussion Thread -- Kate dances The Tango

Scent of a Liar. Will Kart bomb a fourth time and butcher The Tango? How long until Tony cracks again? Discuss here.

Hoping to bolster Jon's absentee parent case, I will begrudgingly be dialing for the dipshit.
Go Jon!

Irene S said...

Katesucks that is too funny.
Yes, Kate makes a whole new issues out in Kiar! that is for sure.
I took a pass tonight from watching. Ya'll take one for the team.

IATK said...

First pre-commercial clip:

Kate talking to Tony. whaa, whaa, whaa

This has been my life for 2 years, all this turmoil whaa whaa whaa, blah, blah

Katie said...

Kate just sits there not clapping and frowning whenever other contestants come off the stage. Does she realize or even care how nasty she looks?

And I loved the little montage they just showed: some of the couples having fun at their rehearsals (one woman ripped the shirt off that soap opera guy) and it was all fun/funny (OchoCinco is especially funny) then BAM we were seeing Kate moaning about "this has been my life for the last two years, the custody issues played out in the public, I bring it here with me and I can't leave it out there" and Tony just looked absolutely beat down. Like he can't even fake looking very sympathetic or caring anymore. Like he's ready to chew his leg off to get away from her.

And honestly, he probably is. Anyone would be.

But what I loved was that everyone else is working hard, having a good time, or stressing a bit, yes, but still working hard and then we're to It's All About Me and My Whiny Problems Kate. What a contrast! What a downer!

If I were Tony, I wouldn't be able to stop myself from saying "honey, you WANTED to live in the public eye. THIS is part of it. And if you can't even rehearse, then we need to just stop now."

Katie said...

Oh and Katie is my actual name. I hate that it's so close to HERS, but Katherine/Katie is actually an awesome name and I'm not changing it just because of her vile self.

Katie said...

Sorry for another comment, but I just wanted to say I firmly believe the whole thing is rigged and it doesn't matter who you vote for. Just my opinion, it's not a scientific opinion or anything, I just get the feeling the producers decide who stays and who goes each week. I think they LOOK at the votes and the scores, but I think there's a lot of rigging things behind the scenes, for sure.

Irene S said...

We are watching the Stepford Wives. They dance way better than Kate.

SG said...

I have to watch it later. *sigh

Katie said...

I need to figure out who that was next to Kate. Right after the last couple danced (before Niecy) when it showed the other dancers clapping, Kate started clapping, but a woman next to her said something to her and Kate quickly dropped her hands to her sides and frowned.

Oh, it was Cheryl the one with OchoCinco.

SG said...

Katie,
I would not be surprised if it's rigged. it seems to me Kate is good for ratings. I also wouldn't be surprised if TLC also had people voting. I also wouldn't be surprised if it really is Kate's fans. I think if Kate goes home tonight something is fishy.

IATK said...

Hi Katie, I missed that, Kate clapping. I['ll have to get it on the flip side.

Kelly said...

OMG........She was horrible. NO, Dear MOTHER OF GOD, please, I can't take anymore of this horrible dancing. It was the worst thing I have ever seen. OMG, gouge my eyes out with a tire iron.

WAIT!!! She hasn't danced yet. I'm still having flashbacks from last week. This is worse than water boarding. Ok, I'll wait for her to torment us again before I comment again

IATK said...

I think it's strange that Tony was at a Laker's game yesterday right after he tweeted he was in an 8hr. rehearsal unless they started in the wee hours of the morning.

Katie said...

Kelly, ROFL! You had me rolling with that. Kate "dancing" flashbacks.

Irene S said...

Kelly you are the best!

dee3 said...

Is it just me or are the judges being extra tough tonight?
I've not watched this show regularly so not totally familiar with the judging.
They really do like to hold off on Kate's dance until the end or very near the end. She's clearly dancing late tonight also.

IATK said...

They seem to be tougher than the previous weeks but this is the first season I've watched.

Katesucks said...

I predict she gets straight 5's again. At least she'll accomplish her perfect 30.

Kelly said...

Preview of Kate and Tony and yet again, Kate talking about how hard her life has been for the last two years. HOLY go to war MS. Murphy!! Kate's had it hard for the past two years.

1. She makes 1.4 mil per year
2. She has cooks
3. She has nannys
4. She lives in a Million Dollar home
5. She gets 22 thousand per month in child support
6. She's had 30 thousand in make overs

Such a hard life.

Tony just looked like a striped bass being off loaded onto the cutting board and I know that look.

He was totally "deballed" in this preview. He had the look. Nothing like being "deballed" on national television. Jon had it, Tony's got it and Kate's got more ball collections than an entire NBA team.

just.me said...

Khate's up next...

Hoping she'll break a...cankle.

MK said...

How is it that she talks about how hard it has been the last TWO years?????? TWO years ago, wasn't she happily married to a man she loved and renewing her wedding vows??? Moving to a big house, enjoying her tour trips, etc??? Didn't she say last May that she loved her life????? Am I delusional and made all this up?

IATK said...

pre-dance interview

wah, wah, wah, wah. etc. etc.

dee3 said...

She looked much better tonight than she did on any of the other nights. She was actually pretty good.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

That was actually 10 times better than the other three weeks. Although that isn't saying a lot.

IATK said...

I agree, it was her best yet, but weren't her scores about the same as last week? I don't remember.

CJ said...

32 out of 60.

She has her blowup boobs on tonight. Actually her dancing wasn't as painful tonight. But she's still stiff as a board.

Katie said...

How sad is it that they are blown away by how "good" she is when her really super good dance still sucks sucks sucks?

They were just thrilled it wasn't so embarrassing they wanted to look away!

And now I'm not sure she'll get kicked off tomorrow. However, the longer she stays on, the more ridiculous she will look in the company of others who can actually dance. And the more obvious it'll be that it's rigged.

It's win-win, as far as I'm concerned. If she stays on, it bolsters Jon's case. If she gets kicked off, she gets what she deserves.

bbsak said...

I call BS on the whole thing - everyone involved, which now includes Tony. They've got him spouting the tired company line that the media is sooo horrible that she can't do anything. Well, Ms. Boohoohoo - stop putting yourself in the media and it will all go away.

Wiley C said...

Kelly, you make my day! :D

Kelly said...

BULLCRAP!!!

These judges wanted to mix it up to keep her on the show. She looked like Arthur Fonzerelli on Happy Days, with her nearly stand still dancing and an occasional leg kick. My Yorkie lifts his leg more often and better than Kate Gosselin could do in a lifetime. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

Katesucks said...

6-6-6. The number of the beast. Way to go Kart!

Kelly said...

CJ,
You are soooooo right. Her boobs were ALL blown up. Her chest looked like somebodies naked backside crash landed into her chest and all that was left was the crack. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

Nancy said...

Hang on folks she'll be back next week even with the low score cause ratings are the all mighty buck.... and she decided to look a TAD better this week and she will be rewarded for it GO FIGURE.... Being a free loving Canadian I JUST DON'T GET IT???

CJ said...

Forgot to add. If she makes it for another week or two, it will be time to learn TWO dances for one show. That ain't gonna happen.

bbsak said...

Kelly,
You're ON tonite!
LOL

Nancy said...

Her "best" dance is still nowhere near the others

dee3 said...

It's very interesting...why, if she had the ability to manage to dance fairly well and not embarrass herself...did she do so horribly the past 2 weeks?

And one would think that with all the events of this week (the custody/child support filings, the hearing in PA, etc.) she would have had more difficulty pulling it together tonight.

Yet...she does the best tonight...even with all the recent bad publicity. It really makes me wonder what things motivate Kate (what floats her boat, so to speak). What would rattle me seems to thrill and motivate her.

CJ said...

Kelly ~ should we now call her Butt Krack Kate?

Kelly said...

Butt Krack Kate was Kracking tonight.

IATK said...

I was happy that Len gave credit to Tony where credit was due; that to get Kate to even this point was due to Tony's persistence.

marnie said...

the boobs were waaay out there. I wonder if her kids are proud to see her mom like that?
The dance was a super-easy, slow , disjointed dance. Tony must have given her the easiest possible choreography. The judges were nicer because it was not as terribly embarrassing as the past ones. When Kate got decent comments from the judges, her ego went sky-high - she thinks she is a star dancer now! She really thinks this is her ticket to stay on.

Katesucks said...

She looked wasted, too, didn't she? I think Tony's 'pep talk' about letting Jon win fired her up. It was still a lot of walking about. Not witticisms from Bruno this week. Damn.

Katesucks said...

Make that 'no witticisms' from Bruno.

Kelly said...

Oh yeah......OH YEAHHHHHHHH... Kate will be back next week. She'll be dancing at her best with the Shuck and Jive. She'll dance so good in the judges eyes, she'll have the Dance Floor spinning. We'll see pictures of Kate after next weeks show, embedded into our Maple Trees with a tear coming down from her right wonky eye.

We'll have visions of Kate in a cloud next week, ministering to a family of Eagles while she's wearing a rainbow of glitter. Next week, Kate's going to part the seas, change the weather, lower the gas prices and she's going to dance on that floor like a dollbaby straight out of a Rocky Horror Picture Show but...............She's going to be the best. Oh yeah. Kan Do Kate Kan do the Kan Kan.

Irene S said...

Kelly, please go save what is left of Z. He was just told there may be parts of that book Kate did write.

mommiedearest said...

This woman needs a reality intervention. She has no clue how ridiculous she looks when she dances(walks) around the floor. Give me a break about no dance experience. She looks like my cat when she hacks up a hairball with her herky jerky movements.

CJ said...

WOW, Pam was hot again tonight. There is no comparison between her dance and Kate's. Threw my 9 votes to Pam, now I need to do 9 more on my cell phone for Niecy. Those two women are working their butts off learning the dances.

dee3 said...

It's funny...the fans say we're being cruel to Kate and hurting her...but I'm honestly beginning to think that we make her happier than they do.

It seems she loves to be the victim, loves to complain and to bemoan what everyone else does to her, loves to get teary-eyed, loves to be the put-upon mom, the wife who was done-wrong. The more grief she gets, the happier she seems to be.

Sure, she says she's unhappy..and that she hates it....but look at her tonight...after all the events of this week...things that would cause US serious grief...and she looks much, much better than she looked the past 2 weeks. She almost seemed serene...compared to her manic behavior of the past 2 weeks on DWTS.

It's so difficult for me to relate to. I keep reading and re-reading articles on NPD just to try to understand. All the things that would make me miserable, thrill her. And all the things that would make ME happy, make her miserable. She loves to be the victim...and it doesn't matter how painful or horrible it is...as long as it's all about her.

Who'd have thought? She might actually benefit from the critics more than she does from the fans.

Katesucks said...

mommiedearest-
The yakking cat description is perfect. Perhaps next week, Kart can borrow Halle Berry's catwoman suit?

Khate hates Pamela.

So, Pamela has gotten all my votes from the beginning. Much to my surprise I discovered I really do like like Pamela, she's a great mother and keep her children out of the limelight. Oh, and she IS a fabulous dancer!

If any of you are on the west coast, you can watch the show at five PST, at:

Gave all my votes to Pam. She really deserved the votes. That last split move was just awesome and actually gave me the chills. She was terrific!

mommyinca said...

Dee3, I think you're onto something. I know people who thrive on "having it so bad". I bet if everyone told Kate how "lucky" and "blessed" she is, it would drive her insane. She likes to be miserable, because she needs the sympathy to thrive.

just.me said...

One question?

Since it's the "highlight" of the childrens week to watch the show, how COULD she mention the custody situation and complain that way?

I know it was Tony who made the comment about not letting "him" (Jon) win, but it was very inappropriate.

PatK said...

Oh, boy...the Judges loved her tonight! The big head will swell even bigger!

mommiedearest said...

If everything she does is for the kids, she would have insisted they edited that out. He is their father. Any family counselor will tell you how damaging it is to insult your childrens father/mother. But this is exactly how she gets around it, let someone else say it and don't correct them. She did it with the child support comment on The View and now this. She is a classless woman trying to grab fame at any cost

mommyinca said...

If Tony called his father to apologize for disrespecting a narcissist than I hope he does the same for disrespecting a man he doesn't even know.
I have lost respect for Tony :(

dee3 said...

"Since it's the "highlight" of the childrens week to watch the show, how COULD she mention the custody situation and complain that way?"

Because this allows her to be the "poor me" victim. Because it's not about her children...it's all about her and her suffering.

I've been reading about NPD behaviors but had been having difficulty figuring out what motivates those behaviors, what gives them their jollies.
And I'm really starting to believe that it's being able to be the victim, no matter how painful it is and no matter the cost. As long as it's all about her...and what she has to endure...and what she has to put up with...and how much she sacrifices and how unappreciated she is.

I'll have to do some more reading on this (NPD). I'd actually thought she wanted to be admired as a role model...but now I'm not so sure. I'm starting to suspect that she loves the pain...as long as SHE is the victim.

Kelly said...

Mommyinca,
Tony's in it for the money too. It's rigged, he's part and parcel to it and he's going to tow the party line. The expression on his face, tonight, when Kate was yet again, complaining about how hard life is, was typical of a guy who just walked into a buzz saw with his family jewels front and center.

I think, after this sham of a show is over and in the history books, Tony will be singing with such a high voice that you won't be able to tell if it's a remake of a Rosa Ponselle opera or just Tony telling us the time of day. Kates got his jewels locked deep in that bedroom, padlocked and off limits under the penalty of severeness.

HI 50 said...

Kate looked exhausted & medicated, probably double dosed. Tony dumbed down the Tango so Kart could make it through the dance. Same old, same old. Tony pushing the Kart around the dance floor. Kart casually walking, forgetting parts of the dance steps, like a drunken pedestrian tripping along the roadside. Tony twirls & spins Kart around just so she looks like she MIGHT be dancing. Tony's hips swivel better than Kart's, guess he could shake the stick out of her....

Erin earned low scores because they need another sacrificial lamb for the elimination round.

As for the judges! YUP, they dumbed down their scores & judging abilities. WHAT were they thinking, feeding the succubi's ego.

I'm still waiting for her promise to laugh at herself. Its OK, I'm helping her keep her promise, I'm laughing at her! HAHAHAHAHA!

NancyB said...

Just.me - Have not seen yet, it starts in 5 min. I can NOT believe that she and Tony made those comments. That is really horrible for her children to be exposed to her dissing Jon on national TV. I wonder if List can use that as just one example of how inappropriately she is handling the divorce in their presence.

Interesting to see Kate in a different light.

I'd always assumed she wanted to be admired and emulated.

But you're on to something with the victim mentality she goes out of her way to assume.

Wiley C said...

OK, I'm in the west and just saw Kate's dance, er I mean shuffle on the dance floor. It WAS an improvement but not much.

But did anyone else notice she was NOT breathless at the judges table? What dancer hasn't given it all and they're huffing and puffing to recover? She didn't even break a sweat!

just.me said...

Khate was catching hell for a while on the dwts site, for her GREAT BIG LIE!

She was whining about how she wasn't really dancer (duh) and was competing against a skater and a former cheerleader. She was busted, and someone posted a link to a yearbook photo of cheerleader Khate!

8.) Kate & Tony – What better way for you to start the lead-in package than whining & complaining some more, Kate? I swear, I see a little more of Tony die each time I see him interacting with this infernal woman. While Kate wasn’t completely unbearable to watch this week (I will admit, she did move around just a tiny bit more in the tango than in the paso), she still was a brick wall emotionally, and looked as though she would rather be anywhere but back on the dance floor again. Hate to say it, Kate, but even Adam Lambert couldn't inject any feeling into that tango. I still want to see her go home – but everytime I predict that she does, she sticks around another week. So, in a desperate act of reverse psychology, I’m going to predict that you DON’T go home, hoping that the opposite in fact occurs. See? Perfect logic at work there

PJ's momma said...

Is that what that was, a tango? I thought Tony was trying to teach her to heel. It looked just like when I taught my wolfhound to heel, and because she was so naughty, I put a pincer collar on her, and her precious head whipped around every time she heard the chain clink, because it meant she was too far away and might get yanked back. It was effective though. Maybe Tony needs to invest in a pincer collar.
Thanks for clearing it up. Tango. Hmmmmm.......let's just hope it's also the pre-funeral dance of someone on their way home. Well, on their way to a book tour, not home, but you know what I mean.

Gosselin Kids all the way said...

Does anyone have a video link to the pre-dance interviews of Khate doing her whining? Not that I'm a medical expert but I think she might have Münchausen syndrome where she likes to create drama, pain and suffering for herself so she can garner sympathy from others and play 'poor me' to everyone she sees and talks to.

This is the description from Wikipedia:

Münchausen syndrome is a term for psychiatric disorders known as factitious disorders wherein those affected feign disease, illness, or psychological trauma in order to draw attention or sympathy to themselves. It is also sometimes known as hospital addiction syndrome or hospital hopper syndrome. However there is discussion to reclassify them as somatoform disorder in the DSM 5 as it is unclear whether people are conscious or not of drawing attention to themselves.

I think this "dance" worked best for Kart because there was not so much footwork but a lot of walking. Tony still looked like he was pushing around a blow up doll. Did you see one part where he pushed her chest with his so she'd pull back.....horrible dance. Will somebody make that vile woman go away.

Hey Dee,

Can I put my hand up and tell you why I think she was better this week. (I'm bouncing around in my chair with excitement at this!)
Because she WASN'T home being interrupted, going out having manicures or tanning. Instead she was trapped with Tony (and I really pity the guy!) in NYC.
All the rehearsal shots were not from her private dance floor, and didn't Tony's schedule mention him going to his family while Kate went home for her 2 days?

Meanwhile, can anyone tell me if it's possible for me (not a US resident) to vote! I want to vote for Pam ... although Miss Pussycat is doing well too. I can't bring myself to vote for Kate as I'm worried about her effect on Tony's mental health.

mama mia said...

Carrie Ann was three dances late with that 4 score. It is definately rigged. The only way they could make Kate look good was to rip into the other contestants and score them harshly and then have Tony keep hold of Kate and do all the work. I think they'll ask her to dance again tonight as their dance favourite, give her that "most improved" crap so when they keep her on the show the viewer won't think it is rigged. And that bit where she blamed Jon for the past 2 years, horrible mother. Does she forget 2 years ago she was standing before her children promising them she'd stick with their father forever. What a nutjub.

I worked as an RN for many years and while I don't think Kate has Munchausen Syndrome, I do think she has Martyr Syndrome. They would both fall under the same umbrella of attention-seeking behavior.

I've been reading about behaviors of those with NPD...but I need to find good articles on what motivates those behaviors with that particular diagnosis. Almost all of the behaviors associated with narcissistic mothers would seem to point to an underlying Martyr Syndrome. I would, however, like to find articles that actually explain what the underlying drive and motivation is.

But at this time...my impression would be that a Martyr Syndrome plays a significant role here.

Did anybody else notice how Kate was stroking Tony's hand while they were waiting for their scores... It just struck me as really odd

SG said...

I'm probably wrong but I say Kate gets voted off tomorrow night. She was the only one that got nice reviews from all the judges, although her scores were low. They probably didn't want her to have to go out with just total bashing. Now she can say how great she did and learned how to dance etc but it works out great because she is busy now with her new book... just like Shannen got voted out when Mark hurt his knee. That's my theory today. It will change tomorrow night when Kate is still there. LOL!

dwts fan said...

Did anyone notice Tony's comment before the scores..."Finally, Kate Gosselin is speechless!" I laughed my butt off! Anna (the redhead dancing with Evan) had a "I can't believe he just said that" look on her face. She was the only one I could see on the bench in the background.

I have encountered a voting problem concerning Pam. I was able to get thru once last night. Cell and land line busy signal. Tried dialing direct instead of speed dial. Same thing. 6 a.m. 7 a.m. this morning I started a non-stop cell dial. Busy, busy,. voted on line and was only able to use 2 email addresses. Back to phones 9:37 a busy, busy. Anyone have similar problem. I want to vote for Pam. It would so put Kate's nose out of joint. N
Notice how her costumes cover the legs. Hey did you catch the size of Kate's thigh in the last movement? Yeah, Kate the cheerleader, not.

dee3 said...

Ya know, call me nuts....but something keeps bothering me about Kate's performance on DWTS last night.
I'm having a really difficult time reconciling how she did so well last night and did so horribly embarrassing prior to that, especially with the jive ad the paso doble.
I'm just going with my gut here. I truly did not feel the cringing embarrassment when I watched her last night like I did the past 2 performances. I'm no expert on dance and just going with how I felt watching her different performances. For me it was like watching a skater who had fallen 10+ times who suddenly performed without falling. I mean, sure, I know that being "adequate" is not exactly being "great"...but there was just such a difference...at least to me.

The difference to me is SO glaring....that I'm somehow feeling like I've been duped...but in a way I never predicted or saw coming. I don't really know how to explain it. For some reason, I'm feeling like I was taken for a ride somehow.

Wiley C said...

She's a better actress than she lets on, eh? And I don't think it's because she's a quick study!

Could it be a sense of being "hustled"? Although with the long dress to cover most of the leg movements and a simplified program, that could have covered a lot of the mistakes.

SG said...

dee3

I always agree with your postings!

I know what you mean about the dance this week. I personally think this dance was just easier. She probably did improve a bit and felt more comfortable so she did better. I also think Tony moves her around more than it shows. He actually spins her around while she doesn't move. She still walked a lot but was more "graceful". The head jerking was just weird though.

Maybe those old dance lessons she had with Jon are starting to kick in and she was just rusty the last couple of weeks.

SG said...

dee3,

I don't think that if you know how to dance you can pretend you don't know how. That has to be difficult to pretend you have no rhythm. Kate is learning dance steps. She doesn't have time to learn to pretend she can't dance. Can she? I think Kate is still pretty stiff in her movements. She might be able to learn to loosen up. She needs to move her hips more. IMO.

fade2black said...

dee3, I'm really afraid you might be right. After the hints on Leno, I read a little blurb somewhere that she was secretly taking dance lessons in NC, even before the announcement that she was on DWTS...and I keep remembering just how awful she was in her first 2 dances. It would have been believable if she did some things wrong, but *nobody* does *everything* wrong. Now the rehab has begun...I'm afraid it's just more manipulation and K8-spin. Blech. Now I'll never be able to watch DWTS again without the resurging anger.

dee3 said...

Like I said, I'm certainly no dance expert and have no training or knowledge on the technical elements, etc. of dance. But the performances of the jive and the Paso Doble were SO bad, it was almost as if she was doing a parody of herself trying to be as embarrassing as possible.

Something seemed not right to me when I watched her last night and I couldn't put my finger on it...and it's been niggling at me in the corner of my mind since then.
Like...how could the person who danced the jive and the Paso Doble have improved so much in one week? And I'm not even talking any sort of technical elements here...I'd have to defer to experts on that.

But the comparison of how I literally cringed with embarrassment and had to look away several times for the horrible performances...and then the tango last night...my whole gut reaction was so different that something just seems not quite right to me.

But then I also agree with SchmeckyGirl ...that if she did know how to dance...she'd have difficulty pretending she didn't. So I still can't really put my finger on it. I don't know what to think, really.
I'm just having difficulty reconciling what to me was a stark contrast. I mean, what made Jimmy Fallon's spoof SO darn funny was that her Paso Doble/Paparazzi performance actually was THAT bad. Compared to THAT, last night actually looked pretty decent...relatively speaking.

I'd gotten distracted with all the "it's been rigged" stuff...but then last night, my mind/suspicions started going in a whole different direction.

Anonymous said...

It was better than the prior two weeks, but it was still crap -- still on the bottom. All she did was go from cringe-worthy to bad. However, if DialIdol.com is right, she is in danger of being voted off. Perfect! She can say, just as she "coincidentally" starts her book tour, "Poor me, just as I was getting the hang of it, boo hoo. But I'm so proud of myself for improving, blah blah blah"

Phone voting is only open for 30 minutes after the show ends (based on your time zone) which would explain why you've been getting busy signals today.

Dee3,
I agree that Kate dance was an improvement over the past, but I don't think she's been sandbagging.

Weeks 1 and 2 she was stiff as a board, awkward, and showed not an ounce of musicality. Last night I thought she appeared more relaxed and seemed to actually be enjoying herself - for once -- something Maks and Tony have been telling her to do since day one. Her technical dance ability is still almost non-existent however. She still walked and posed, her form was terrible, footwork poor, and the routine had definitely been simplified.

After the dance I saw what I thought was a genuine smile on Kate's face, not the teeth clenched, forced and practiced grin she usually displays. IMO, the reason for her improved performance was a relaxed body and trust in her partner. I thought she was having fun - for once she released the control she has to have over every situation and her body, trusted in her partner and had a good time. For a few minutes she stopped pretending to be something she isn't and just let go. I don't think there is more to it than that. Am I off base?

I don't like Kate, her personality, her treatment of her children and ex-husband, her motives, her lies and deception and manipulation, etc. I thought she was the worse celeb on the show again last night and I still don't believe she should be doing DWTS (she's not a star and has no talent). But, I have to admit that I felt a bit of relief for her because she appeared, for about 3 minutes, to have actually been happy. For those brief minutes it looked to me like she let go and let others take control, she didn't try to manipulate the situation or over-control herself and everyone else. I'm happy for her if she had a good time and it helped her dance better, but it didn't change my opinion of her.

I voted online last night and one of my votes for Pam was changed to Kate. And I am VERY sure it was not a mistake on my part.
I hold Kate in low esteem but am not a hater. Mainly, I really wish she would just GO AWAY. DWTS was one of my favorite shows and she has simply ruined it (although I do appreciate them holding her performance till the end or near end so I can watch most of the show in peace).
What is so troubling to me is all (TLC, ABC, entertainment new shows, etc) who enable this very disturbed person to parade her personality disorder in the media for entertainment. She needs some serious counselling and I really don't believe she has any comprehension that many of her thought processes are inappropriate.
I wish there was the same taboo against exploiting people for their mental illness as for their physical illness (although I am not sure TLC even observes this one).
I don't say this lightly. I was raised by a bi-polar parent and lived with someone with a personality disorder (professional diagnoses, not mine)and recognize some of her behaviors result from disordered though processes. These are very treatable illnesses and it is sad Kate is not getting help. For the record, both sought treatment and eventually lived productive lives and enriched the lives all all around them.
My prayers always include all those less fortunate than me, which includes Kate and her family.

What dancer would be giddy with glee over these comments:

"You do not have artistry in your movements".

"Your technique is still very, very bad".

just.me said...

Maggie, that's funny and true!

I don't think I can watch the elimination episode tonight. Khate is feeling pretty smug and happy with her dance/walk, and I don't think this will be her week to go.

Darn, I hope I'm wrong and she's sent packing when she least expects it.

maggie, a narcissistic dancer would be giddy with glee! Especially a dancer on meds. She doesn't hear the critique b/c TLC has ABC in their pocket. How else are they going to control her?!

CJ said...

Kate was not as stiff last night. Do you think she might have been given a large dose of muscle relaxers?

HI 50 said...

CJ, but of course! With a large goblet of her favorite boxed wine!

No go ahead and use this one again.

If they tell Kate she is safe THIRD to last again, they need to knock it off. Even though we know being told you are safe third to last means nothing--i.e. you could have had the most votes for all we know, it gets some stupid people to get nervous and vote for you. .... i.e. Kate gets more votes the next week because people got nervous.

just.me said...

I'm afraid they'll save her, yet again.

PLEASE, let me be wrong!

just.me said...

Kate got saved.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Saved. Again. Not even bottom two. For all we know she could be getting the most votes! They just manipulate it to make it seem like she's third to last.

Aiden's gone, eh who cares.

Paula said...

I'm not sure ABC can even hide the fact anymore that the fix is on here.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

At least Aiden is not that good. I'm going to blow a gasket if someone like Pam or Evan goes home before Kart.

just.me said...

Please, vote for Pamela next week!

Paula said...

Well, this is good for Jon, at least.

Katie Irene is going to have a big dilemma coming up.
The custody hearing is set for May 25th in Pennsylvania.
Season Finale of Dancing With The Stars? May 25th in Los Angeles.
Even if/when she gets the boot ALL of the season's celebrities come back for season finales!!
We'll see where her priorities lie then, won't we?

Go Jon!!!

I am torn about this too but actually, think how awesome it's going to be wekk after week if Kate is left standing with the likes of Nicole, Pam, Evan and Erin.

I hope they give her a large dose of Ex Lax next week and the cameras pan in on it like they did to her childrens private moments on the potty. Perhaps then, Kate will know what it's like to be mortified on national television

Kelly said...

Admin,
Having Kate stand week after week with Nicole, Pam, Evan and Erin will do nothing but justify, in Kates mind, how important she really is. I'd even go so far as saying that Kate thinks she should have been in the painting of the Last Supper and all the Apostles would have been voted out of the sitting before she was.

just.me said...

I guess we'll just have to make lemonade out of these lemons!

Khate HAS to hate all the work that goes into the practice. She may be a slacker when it comes to how much time she spends practicing, but it IS hard for her. Worse yet, Khate has to LISTEN to Tony, and do what HE says!

It's not ALL bad!

Fed up with this family! said...

Well I guess she's free to love her kids from afar for another week! Here's to another casserole baked in her heart and a meal served by a cook and a nanny! Blech!

AuntieAnn said...

just.me - Here's my pitcher of lemonade (with a quart of vodka added. Please everyone, help yourself to a tumblerful). I posted it on the other thread:

I look at it as a win/win all the way around. Kate isn't/won't be around the kids very often (it might be just me but I see that as a plus for the kids), check. She's making more than enough $$ to support them, check. It makes a stronger case for Jon, check. We have a choice; we can laugh at her as she continues to make an ass out of herself, or use the remote to watch something else, check.
With any luck, Kate's ego will inflate her head to the size of the GoodYear Blimp until it lifts her to the outer stratosphere or beyond where she may even float back to the planet she came from, check.

Kelly said...

Fed up with this family,

Thanks for sharing that casserole she baked in her heart. I'm not sure if Kate has a heart on for her kids or for her travels. Those kids are eating alot of popcorn and staying up late these past couple of weeks.

These are some twitts that Tony made....I wonder what they mean...In the last one it sounds like french a little

just.me said...

Thanks, AuntieAnn!

I could use a pitcher of vodka with a splash of lemonade, right about now!

Actually, my wonderful husband is making dinner and things are good here! I haven't allowed my hate for Khate to interfere with real life.

Except, of course, that I'm reading and posting far too much!

French Canadian,
I don't speak french so I can't decipher what Tony's tweets are. I do read minds however and I was reading Tony's mind tonight after they both were given a green card for next weeks debacle.

Tony's mind said:

HOLY CRAP!!! NOT ANOTHER WEEK WITH THIS BROAD.
I'd rather have a ROOT CANAL or make love to Bruno.

Bruno then looked at Tony and said:

Hurry up and make up your mind Tony before I adjust the chair.

I'm ashamed to dance any longer on this show. I'm packing up and heading back to Yugoslavia.

Another translation:

She won't stop cackling in my ear and she needs a few dozen tic tac's.

Erin looks HOT. Kate looks NOT. Everytime she lifts her leg on me, I think I just got half of that organic cow.

NOW Tony is off my list of favorite instructors! He is insulting the viewer's intelligence by acting like pathological Kate! Is he now her grasshopper?

You can cut & paste his text, Goggle "translate from Albanian to English" to read his silly message to his Albanian followers to please vote for Tony & his Kart.

HI 50 said...

Apparently Tony's Albanian is a little rusty. The translation from Albanian to English doesn't translate well.

"sa ma shum qe te ri ne show eshte mire per Shqiptaret ju lutem Voto perse me jep mundesi qe tu tregoj shikusve kulturen tone"

translates to...

"as much as my new show is the best why Albanians Vote please give me opportunity to show our culture shikusve"

I change my mind, he's a praying mantis. When Kate is done with him, she will bite his head off & have it for breakfast. Oooo, that image is burned into my mind....gotta run for a glass of wine.

I call BS on the whole thing - everyone involved, which now includes Tony. They've got him spouting the tired company line that the media is sooo horrible that she can't do anything. Well, Ms. Boohoohoo - stop putting yourself in the media and it will all go away.

I agree, it was her best yet, but weren't her scores about the same as last week? I don't remember.

Is it just me or are the judges being extra tough tonight?
I've not watched this show regularly so not totally familiar with the judging.
They really do like to hold off on Kate's dance until the end or very near the end. She's clearly dancing late tonight also.

Katie said...

Kelly, ROFL! You had me rolling with that. Kate "dancing" flashbacks.

SchmeckyGirl said...

I have to watch it later. *sigh

Oh and Katie is my actual name. I hate that it's so close to HERS, but Katherine/Katie is actually an awesome name and I'm not changing it just because of her vile self.

Yes, Kate makes a whole new issues out in Kiar! that is for sure.
I took a pass tonight from watching. Ya'll take one for the team.
