Jon's girlfriend Ellen is following our Blog

Ellen tweeted today that she is following this blog.

"Read over some things on your site. Appreciate the support," Ellen tweeted.

Whatever Ellen and Jon can do to get these kids off TV and back to living a more normal life, this Blog supports. And to Ellen, of particular help may be the sidebar. Check out "Evidence of the 8's exploitation."

As frustrated as I get with Jon, I still think he was 10 times the parent that Kate is.
The kids seem comfortable with Ellen. She is taking on a daunting task!

I'm surprised the long arm of TLC's law hasn't found a way to reach out and stifle Ellen yet. It would be interesting to know if she thinks the G8 are being exploited.

Carys said...

Finally! Jon has a girlfriend with common sense. She seems like a keeper, Jon. Don't screw it up.

Now if only he would get a normal job ( not at a bar...ugh I hope he cancels that for the sake of his kids ), in no time he will far far far eclispe Kate in the parenting department.

Jon needs to be willing and ready to live in a camper if he has to if it means rescuing his children from Kate and TLC. Allowing them to film so he can avoid a lawsuit and have a nice apartment isn't worth what's being done to those babies.

( Christmas gift ideas for Jon: collared shirts. Someone else mentioned this and it is sorely needed. )

Welcome,Ellen! You sure do seem alot more mature, alot more nuturing, alot kinder, have more common sense, and dressed properly as a role model for those 5 girl.I hope you never be-little their daddy in front of them, nor slap his face, nor try to regulate his breathing. If you stay with Jon,I hope you do none of the things that kate did,and do it all the opposite of her.

Troy Chula Vista said...

Thats great that she follow this blog. PLEASE don't go ROL if you have a thin skin Ellen. They are so very immature and without a clue as to real support. They bash people without ever showing any reason why they think Kate is the greatest.

JudyK said...

Hi Ellen! You seem like a really nice girl, and you and Jon are, IMO, the only chance those kids have for some emotional support, encouragement, and love.

Troy Chula Vista said...

Ellen, if you are following this blog, why don't you ask jon to give some insight on why he seems to turn the other cheek regarding filming his kids all summer? Then post that insight on this blog.

We are mature here, if he tells you it's because he can't stop it then we have to accept that. at least you won't get any name calling or disrepect here. Just give us a little more than "he can't stop it" :) Did you have to sign a ND form? Why can't he pickup the kids on the property? Is kate really threatened by your kind and gentle appearance and how you treat the kids?

GKWay said...

I could be looking through rose coloured glasses (hope not) but I really believe that Jon has his hands tied with TLC, his ex-wife and who knows what other legal issues there are? He knows that he can't get out of his child support payments and I don't think he wants to. At the end of the day, he needs to ensure that he is there to make sure the kids have a soft place to fall and although its not the best situation right now, at least they do have someplace to go(although only temporary).

Obviously, there could be better alternatives but as outsiders, we really have no idea the ins and outs of their custodial agreement. Maybe this is the only way Jon can see the kids and for the small amount of time he gets with them he wants to make it as fun and normal for them as possible.

I'm not a lawyer but I am a parent and if my husband and I ever divorced, I would hate to drag my kids through the court system just to get back at my spouse and have them feel that they needed to choose sides. Maybe Jon being more passive feels that the kids have been through enough as is right now without having their parents fighting in court on top of the media circus.

This is all just my honest opinion but for what its worth, I am happy the kids do get some 'down time' with their dad and a sense of normalcy in their lives.

Just because we don't see Jon fighting for the kids in the media doesn't mean he isn't doing something behind the scenes. Being there for them emotionally and spiritually when they need him should be kept private between him and his kids.

Welcome Ellen! You're in the trenches so to speak. You probably see and hear more than we do. Please stay strong....There are a lot of people supporting you and Jon. I don't agree with many of the things Jon has done but it's clear he does love his children. I hope you stick around :)

Hippie Chick said...

Welcome Ellen! We are here because 1) we really do want those kids to lead a normal, healthy life out of the spotlight. We would love to see them have fun in their childhood. And 2) We hate seeing what Kate's made them out to be. Show-pieces. You know more than anyone else what she puts those kids through. And Jon. We hope it ends soon for the sake of the kids. We don't watch the show, and yes, we snark on Kate often. But, hopefully, Kate will come off her high horse and realize her children are NOT workers to make HER life better. They are kids for Christ Sake. We don't care if Kate gets her own show, it will flop, but we don't care. Just let the children be children.

I just watched a video from INF over at Prezzi's. I actually watched it several times and each time I did , I caught something of interest.
First thing I noticed was a little white sports car parked beside Kates van. Same car that Tony was driving around town with Kate and her fake-crocheted hair blowing in the wind, during DWTS. Could it be Steve's little car ?
Second thing was Steve himself. He walked up to Kate, she seemed to ignore him, he called her name, then they met up at the front of the van. They spoke for a few minutes before she got in the van, with the kids screaming.
The final thing was possibly the most important. The crew said something to her, as she was getting in her van, and she said "thanks, see you next week".
I want to know how many hours a week these kids are "working".They have been filming all damn week and it looks like it will start all over again next week.
Where are the people in Pa. that are checking on these kids to make sure TLC and their famewhore mother is staying within the guidelines that the court ordered ?
Apparently the same thing that their father is doing to help them. Nothing!
I do hope that Ellen gives these children a hug when they need it,an extra scoop of ice cream,a goodnight kiss, and is not afaid to use the words,"I love you". The three most important words a child can hear in their childhood into their adulthood.
Words I'd bet that Katie Irene NEVER says to her children.

I am so glad that she is following this blog and not ROL. Those people are so rude and crude as I mentioned over the weekend. I also hope the kids get a real break from filming this school year. I just have a feeling that their mother will have them filming as soon as they get home from school and over the weekend, she just can't seem to get with it.

What court ordered guidelines? Are you talking about having a teacher/advocate present during filming? That is one of the things Rep. Murt is pushing for. As of now it is not required.

@ Judy, Yes I did see the same video as you did and why did her boyfriend not get in the drivers seat? It was said that he drove them there. I also liked that when Jon picked up the kids that afternoon after they were filming(working) that Ms Wanna B a Star changed from her Hooker outfit into another outfit, except the dress is so much better. Seems to me that she has more free time than any other mother I know, never mind one with 8 kids. What ever happened to " they will only be filming a couple times and it will be specials?

Kelly said...

Welcome Ellen but at the risk of offending some here, I'll be forthright and state the following. This is not a Kate hating blog nor a Jon hating blog. I'm here on this ONE blog because it's more neutral than most of the others What I won't do is blog about Jon's virtues as I don't really see any at this point.

He's the father of these 8 kids and from all observations, he's condoning this servitude as much as Kate by his passive attitude. He's as guilty as his ex and his kids are the ones paying the price.

The childish way they pick up and drop off the kids with cameras flashing is as damaging to those children as the divorce, in and of itself. Unlike previous posts, I'm not going to change colors and turn this into a praise Jon fest. I detest what he has allowed to transpire all these years up to this day as much as I detest what Kate continues to do in his absence.

If Jon cared more for those children as he does for himself, he would have truly stood his ground, kept them off of television and taken whatever lumps came his way with the TLC suit and any others thereafter. He didn't. He obviously caved as the kids are back on television, he's still not gainfully employed and he's allowing his ex to put those children in front of any and every camera as he does as well.

I'm a divorced father of 3 kids and I'd walk the plank to protect them at any cost. Their needs have always and will always come first. You hold their hands for such a short time but you hold their hearts forever. I won't implore you to say or do anything to this person you find some postive traits. I will voice to you my concern as well as hundreds of thousands of other peoples concerns about the lack of protection and concern that Jon and Kate have exhibited towards 8 little lives that look to no one else but their parents.

With that said, I'll step off my soapbox and continue to snark on the charade by his ex, the exploitation of the children and the lack of dispatch that Jon shows in trying to stop this abuse.
Other than that being said, Welcome

Kate looks satisfied with herself that she's got another 'hard' day of work under her belt as she slammed the door shut on her kids and mumbled something about them driving her nuts. Someone needs to remind her that her kids have been working harder than she ever will and without them there would be no big paycheck. Ungrateful bitch. Did she ever think she was driving them nuts?

There were no work permits issued last year, and therefore TLC considered themselves exempt from following any guidelines. With permits, these are the rules that must be followed (check under regulated days and hours). The number of days, length of hours per day and week are different, depending if the child is enrolled in school or is on vacation:

There were no permits issued for last season's filming. TLC got a mere slap on the hand for not having them. I believe the permits that they have now allow for filming children from the ages of 7 to under 18, and they can film until 10 pm.

Hi Ellen,

Well, I hated Kate the first time I heard her belittle Jon. I hated J&K+8 and I hate K+8 even more. But I always thought Jon, Kevin and Jodi were the only hope those kids had. Their mother is scary crazy, as you know.

That being said, do you realize how many people have been ripped out of those kids' lives and all the trauma and loss they've been through with the divorce? Do you have any experience with divorce and the pain these kids are in? Are you and Jon committed to each other, or are you going to be another transitory person they get close to, then lose? If you answer yes, that you're committed, then I'm afraid you're a little too young for what you're getting into. I don't think those kids should even know you yet. Absolutely, you seem to be a stabilizing figure in thos kids' lives, but what happens if those children form a deep attachment to you, and you and Jon don't make it? How much loss can those kids handle?

Sorry to be a wet blanket on this love-fest, but all I care about is the kids. If the kids have a bond with you, I hope you're in it for the long haul, because it's going to be an ugly ride with Khate involved. I don't see a happy ending. Please tread carefully. I pray for those kids.

Oh, and I totally called the Kate and Steve thing :)

"Absolutely, you seem to be a stabilizing figure in thos kids' lives, but what happens if those children form a deep attachment to you, and you and Jon don't make it? How much loss can those kids handle?"
----------------

What happens if they form a deep attachment to ANYONE in his life? There are no guarantees. Does this mean that Jon should not have a partner in his life? If a girlfriend is acceptable, then should that person never be introduced to the children? Exactly when is the right time for the woman in his life to meet the children? There are no guidelines in this situation. Break-ups can occur months or years after a couple becomes "committed." Things happen. This doesn't mean that the kids can never meet their father's girlfriend simply because they "might" separate at some point down the road.

"If you answer yes, that you're committed, then I'm afraid you're a little too young for what you're getting into."
-------------

As far as I'm concerned, age doesn't enter into it. I've known 25-year-olds who were far more mature than a 50-something woman. Kate is yesterday; Ellen is today, and the kids are tomorrow. They need someone to say, "There's an idea...go for it, all the while giving them encouragement, and plenty of hugs. I don't see them getting that from their mother. That in itself is tragic.

"Oh, and I totally called the Kate and Steve thing :)"

I'm a "show me" person. I'll only believe it when I hear it from the two horses' mouths.

Be strong, Ellen said...

The Kate fans will try and get to you in every possible way, but you've got a great support system and I'm thrilled the kids have a blast with you - the Kate fans cannot STAND that.

Bodyguard my a$$ said...

Moose Mania, how nice that you think the kids can handle more loss. I happen to think they've had enough. And introducing your kids to your, (what 5th girlfriend?) in a year isn't smart and isn't good for the kids no matter how anyone glosses it over.

Any young woman who thinks she can take on 8 damaged kids, an immature, weak man, and a raving lunatic like Kate is naive. It's all nice and fairy-tale like, isn't it? And guess what? The kids lose again. How blaise we are about kids' getting their hearts ripped out over and over again. And there are no other kids who have experienced what these little kids have. Walk a mile in their shoes before saying another loss is no big deal.

Kate and Steve? OMG, propinquity. Anyone ever heard of it?

___________

I never said that. Please knock off the snarky/condescending remarks. It's not only unbecoming, but it's one of those comments that Administrator mentions in her Rule 2 for posting.

The whole point of my post was to question when IS the right time to introduce a girlfriend. Next year? Five years from now? There are no guarantees in life, and in this case, there are no guidelines to follow. While this is not a unique situation, couples certainly don't face these questions every day.

Let's say Jon gets married on Valentine's Day. It doesn't matter to whom, but he gets married. When she was his girlfriend, Jon didn't introduce them. Once married, however, they come to know her, love her, and then, bam...the marriage is on the rocks and ends up in divorce like the last one. Should he not have introduced the kids to her at all, keeping her hidden because there was that remote chance that they wouldn't be together forever, and they'd have to go through the emotional upheaval of having to lose another person who had become such an important part of their lives?

The children appear happy when they are with Ellen and their father, and right now, I would think that after all they have been through, any happiness or joy in their lives would be beneficial, not detrimental. It would be interesting to get a mental health professional/child therapist's take on this because there are no easy answers.

"Walk a mile in their shoes before saying another loss is no big deal."

Where is this coming from? Is your computer showing words that mine isn't, because this was never said, nor implied, or in any way even remotely suggested?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Some child development experts say hold off on introducing a girlfriend, others say you shoud do it sooner rather than later. They're split.

If you hold off you are giving the relationship time to be more stable and see if it's going to last before introducing Mommy 2.0 only to have her leave.

But if you wait too long some kids feel betrayed, like they weren't important enough to be included in Daddy's life, all of it which includes a girlfriend. Or that Daddy thinks they can't handle it. Introducing a girlfriend at the 11th hour can make them feel like their parent was hiding something from them and can make them question the trust they have in them.

If there was anyone Jon should have held off on introducing to the kids that should have been Kate. After all she didn't last. Oh, wait.

My first impression of Ellen was the photo at Jon's pool showing Mady talking intently to Ellen, with her hand on her shoulder.
Ellen was clearly listening to Mady, and cared about what she was saying, judging from Mady's body language.
I've never seen her look as though her own mother appreciated her, but I saw her look appreciated by Ellen.
Those kids need somebody now to listen to them. I'm grateful Ellen is there for them.

@A$$....

By your reasoning, then, Steve never should have been hired, because Kate has admitted that the kids formed a strong attachment to him, calling him "Uncle Steve." When TLC cuts Kate off, he's gone. Or, if rumors are true, he becomes her significant other, but when he's had enough of her, he's off and running, too.

There should be no nannies, no babysitters, either, because if they look at Kate the wrong way, they're fired. I would think that the children have formed strong attachments to them, too. Why should they have to deal with another loss? The answer would be simply to not hire them in the first place.

The kids should be home-schooled because they might become close to their teachers, only to have to move on to the next grade, or the teachers may have chosen to leave their position.

Heck, the children shouldn't be around any adult to whom they might become attached or with whom they form a close relationship. You never know when that person will be removed, or remove themselves from their lives.

Yes. Now. Not next month, not next year. Now. When they need somebody the most. Before it's too late.

The Kate fans will try and get to you in every possible way, but you've got a great support system and I'm thrilled the kids have a blast with you - the Kate fans cannot STAND that.

Someone else mentioned this and it is sorely needed. )
