6th Birthday surprise & Home Roost: Plus More Discussion Thread

Blech. TLC is not content to just leave the first two episodes of Kate Plus 8 well enough alone. Now they've gone back to the editing bay and added a bunch more footage and are rebroadcasting them today on TLC.

Discuss if you want.....still debating whether to recap this shameless garbage. After watching this disturbing video yesterday, feeling a bit burned out.

I would not usually resort to all caps but having witnessed the devastation that has become these children's lives, the only thing that I think should be recapped it a list of the advertisers so we can email the video of the kids trauma at their Dad having to leave them at the gate.
DO NOT WATCH KATE AND HER TWISTED SHOW OR THE DAMAGE TO THESE CHILDREN WILL CONTINUE!!!!

Linda in NS said...

Admin, the only shameless garbage is Kate. That video is heart breaking. Those children sounded so terrified to be sent back to Kate. God only knows what goes on behind closed doors. If only somebody from child protective services could investigate.

KateJonandTLCSuck said...

Admin, I may be wrong but...after yesterday I don't think anybody here would miss you NOT doing a recap of shiteous 'never before seen footage'.
I agree with cathy518, use the hours the Katie Krapfest is on to blast that heartbreaking video to advertisers, tabloid tv, and every single talking head that has defended and continues to defend that sorry excuse for a mother.
If need be, we can find a recap at Entertainment Weekly or GWOP.
My vote is-no recap.

A Pink Straight Jacket For Kate said...

Administrator, as far as not being sure if you should post a recap of the 2 hr "Special (cough)", if I may give my humble opinion: unless something happens that is so egregious that it needs to be reported or called out- I really don't think that Kate deserves anymore attention that she has already robbed us of... So if I may, I vote "no" to the recap.
Anyone else?

KateJonandTLCSuck said...

Should have also said that I am 'in agreeance' with cathy518 that the ONLY recap-should you watch-be a list of advertisers and contact info to send the video to.

Ava said...

JMO-Don't watch. Don't recap. It's the only way that we can help to save these kids. Besides, why bother watching anymore. Kate will continue to be obnoxious. Kate will continue to treat the kids harshly. Kate will continue to lie. Kate will continue to try to remain controversial to gain attention. Enough.

I know TLC pulled the video, but preesi's site is completely down. Can anyone else access it?

PatE said...

I wonder if the re-edits are an attempt to change KKate's imagine.

Watching the old DVDs she acts neurotic.

Pate said...

We should email the video with the link to this website to politicians, advertisers and tv talking heads.

Lolly said...

No recap needed for me. The ONLY thing I would interested in, what prompted Kate to yell that "she was in charge and that will never change". That came out of nowhere, (on film) The kids must have said something. It seemed weird that they showed that but not what led up to her saying it. (And no, I don't watch the show or tape it, I did watch segments of it, after I heard about poor Mady saying she should just die, 2 weeks after the show was on, on Youtube. And not the youtube that TLC posts).

Admin have a question... here in Cali we have Grandparents Rights is this national or state to state? Grandparents can sue for visition just like dad gets. wonder if Jons mom has ever thought of this. I know age might be a factor but time away from Kate/TLC and time with family would be so nice for these kids.
I really want to know how jon can go through this and NOT do a thing about it. I know he is not that heartless.

I'm not tuning in to the show, haven't watched anything on TLC in a year and won't start again now. As for the recap, don't bother if you feel uncomfortable or sick about it. Besides, we know what the shows are all about. Kate Gosselin barking orders, Kate Gosselin dressed like a hooker, Kate Gosselin complaining, Kate Gosselin screeching, Kate Gosselin shopping....Kate Gosselin ad nauseum.

Enough of this bitch. TLC has protected her long enough. The video has to be addressed. Look at the hay day the media is having with Mel Gibson and Lindsay Lohan. It's Kate's turn. She wanted fame, she got it. Now she can have notoriety and shame. She's not a decent human being and certainly not a decent mother.

That tape demands CPS attention. They had better step in and see what's going on in that house. How are they punished? Does she bring out the spoon and threaten them to stop their crying? What corner of the house are they sent to when they misbehave, so that she doesn't have to deal with their real emotional problems, which she couldn't handle anyway. Why are they in hysterics like that? What or who is scaring them? Are they fed properly? Are they getting enough sleep? Have they had medical/physical check-ups and exams? They'd better ask all the questions and get to the bottom of this before something tragic happens to one of them. We've already heard Mady say "I'll just die". That was a cry for help, Kate, in case you missed it.

Ditto the don't watch and don't recap thoughts above. Hope the ratings tank big time! That and only that will stop this and free those darling children of the cameras! TLC and the 'p people'.

Why is that INF video not being shown or mentioned by any of the tabloid shows or sites? Even the ones that have Gosselin tabs are avoiding this one.

JudyK said...

I do not want to REVISIT Kate's already edited and re-edited 6th birthday party farce. She's a bitch, she's a bitch, she's a bitch...and TLC can never edit enough to make her not a bitch. I am nauseatingly sick to death of Kate Gosselin and worried about the emotional and physical safety and welfare of those children.

Dani said...

I agree with no recapping.

Linda said...

I would also like to vote for no recap AND I think a list of ALL advertisers that show up during this show should be posted.

I'm on vacation right now and will write my ass off to every single one. I am very willing, if I currently patronize that advertiser, to STOP buying from them/using them. That is no problem. I will also use word of mouth to spread it around to others. I don't know a single person who likes this woman or supports the show.

This has to stop.

I don't watch TLC at all, there's a boycott in this house of the entire network, but I'd love to know who the sponsors of the show are.

Admin,

I watched last time because I thought there would be no recap, however, this time I am so disgusted that I will NOT watch even if there is no recap. I don't care to see what they have to show. Most likely they will attempt to address some of the criticism of the last shows in hopes of regaining some of their lost viewing audience. I don't care anymore. All I care about is those poor children and about putting a stop to this for them. The best way I can do that is to not contribute to it by watching and thus bringing in revenue that they will use to continue to film. No recap is necessary.

Dee said...

Save yourself! No re-cap!

Have e-mailed the video to Gawker, TMZ, Rep Murt and Joy Behar.

I also agree on the no-recap of the shows. It may just add to the egos of all involved (since we know that at least 'somebody' reads the blogs) whether good, bad, or indifferent. These kids need to be saved and by giving any type of attention to the shows will just keep it going and going and going.

I am still very distraught over the video from yesterday. No child cries and screams like that because they are "acting" -- they were extreme screams/cries.

At first I wanted Admin. to do a re-cap, as I have not watched many of the episodes, but after reading all of your comments, I have changed my mind, and agree for Admin. to not do the re-cap.I can only imagine how difficult this is for you Admin., to watch and post these awful videos, I don't know how you manage, but thanks for keeping the rest of us current. I am glad that this video has been sent out to some people, wish that I knew how to do it, as I would gladly spend my entire day doing this, for those poor little kids.I was wondering who watched The Veiw this morning? Jake, from the Bachelor was on, and all 4 women really raked him over the coals, did not hold back at all! Then next they had on the Housewives from D.C.,and gave them alot of h*ll too, I sure wish they could do the same to kate, maybe if Joy gets this video, and all of them see it, then perhaps they also will have a change of heart, and stop with the soft and gentle way they speak to kate. Wonder what Dr. Phil would say about it, how much would he try to save kate after seeing the video? He has always been so soft on her, surely he would open his eyes after seeing it-wouldn't he? Wonder how much of this that Lisa Ling is aware of these days? They are sure filling alot of time slots with both the old and the new kate shows tonight, but I will not be watching! She is just a stupid cow, who takes all the good in her life for-granted. Yuck!

No wonder other countries question our IQ. We watch that, yet we get sooooooo offended with a millisecond of breast exposure on TV.

Imagine how things would be if Jon had stood his ground during the "bowel impact" video and told kate to get off her ass, put down the stupid color/design brochure for the beds and help the child. Of course TLC would have to show it. Now that would have boosted his ratings or he would have come off as too hard on his wife....

You know what's surprised me and really saddened me the most in this whole Jon and Kate mess? Is how many times I've heard comments similar to that. Are there really people out there who truly believe happiness can be bought? Were these people's own childhoods bought? I feel sorry for these people. Although it seems that's how Kate feels too given how she implies how lacking her childhood was. In things, Kate? Or in love?

Maybe the reason the video isn't 'going viral' by mainstream media is because Kate's 15 minutes are up. Maybe no one cares anymore. Think about it. If Kate was truly a "star", the media outlets would have been all over this. If this was say, Brangelina, people would have gone crazy, posting this all over the web. People just don't care about Kate that much anymore, IMO. Or, it's the beginning of the end.

The fact that there are certainly mothers worse than Kate, and certainly childhoods worse than what these kids are going thoruhg, has no bearing on the fact that Kate is a bad mother and these kids' childhoods are being f-ed up.

No, it's not faulty logic. It's a reaction to the extreme level of vitriol and moral outrage directed at Kate. You can hold hands and sing kumbaya all you want, but the cold reality is that children need more than love. They need adequate food, clothing and shelter. They need access to quality health care and quality education. Etc., etc. If you don't believe that, take a look at the statistics in your average inner city. Look at the drop-out rates. Look at the levels of gang involvement. Look at the childhood asthma rates, obesity rates, etc. Are you going to argue that parents in impoverished communities love their children less?

When it's said that the only thing kids need is love, obviously no one means that you can neglect to feed and clothe and shelter a child. That is part of love as I define it, seeing to your child's needs. Love is not just a feeling in your heart for a child, it's the outward expression of it. Povery or riches has no bearing on how much one loves their kids, nor on how happy they are--that is our point, that all this STUFF means nothing to the kids when they are thrilled to run out of a arcade with cheap 50 cent prizes and petrified to go back to their million dollar house. The kids are not basing their happiness on an inventory of how much things cost.

Kate and Jon were fulfilling all the kids' needs before they ever had the show. They had food. Organic food no less. They had clothing. Matching clothing no less. They had shelter--not an apartment, not a condo, but a HOUSE.

So why did they need to exploit their kids again?

Let's assume they wanted an even better lifestyle than they wanted. Okay, fair enough. So they lived that lifestyle for five years. Now the kids are distraught and are chased by paps. So why isn't it ending now? Clearly they have all their basic needs and more met now.

It's just ridiculous at this point to turn a blind eye to greed. With some people you give them a million and they want two. You give them two they want four. Never satisifed.

---

You are contradicting yourself. On the one hand, you say that providing food, clothing and shelter are part of love, which implies that those who can't meet their children's physical needs don't love their children as much as those who can. The reality is that many poor parents are not providing adequately for their children's physical needs. On the other hand, you say that rich and poor parents love equally.

I happen to think filming of the kids should have discontinued once the family disintegrated. Where I differ from most people here is that I don't think Kate is evil for keeping them on television. I haven't heard her talk about giving the kids "stuff," I've heard her say she wants to give them experiences and opportunities that she never had and the show is her vehicle for accomplishing that. There is a world of difference between saying that you want to buy your kids things and saying you want to expose them to the world. If she genuinely believes that the positives outweigh the negatives -- and the only person who knows what she truly believes is Kate herself -- then she is acting in what she considers to be the best interests of her children. Being misguided and being evil are two very different things and Kate has been labeled the worst mother in the world, evil, etc. far too frequently.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

This blog never said Kate was evil. But to say she is misguided gives her way too much credit. I don't care if Kate believes the sky is falling in her heart, she is not acting in their best interest. Kate was misguided the first few years. Now she is just negligent to her children's well being.

Love is just confusing the issue now. A parent who cannot clothe their child because they are poor can still love the child. What is the point? Kate loves her kids? Kate loves herself too. The fact remains the children no longer need what this show is providing. Mainly, STUFF.

Julianna said...

No, It's Not:

Kate doesn't want to BUY things for her children. She wants things GIVEN to them for free. The bottom line is this: These kids are working to support HER lifestyle, the one she came to know and love, and when she saw what others had, she wanted it too...and to go one better. The children are the vehicle for getting this. No child is put on this earth to support his/her parents, and this is exactly what these kids are doing. "Opportunites" my big toe. These are HER opportunities, and the kids are the only way she can get what she never had as a child.

Isn't it interesting that she couldn't take the kids on the Statue of Liberty trip when the filming stopped, but, boy, when filming picked up they were right there, courtesy of TLC? If she truly wanted to give her kids opportunities, she could give them without the show. She calls it "culturing," but these children are never going to remember details of ski trips to Utah, luxury suites in Hawaii, ad nauseum. These trips are FOR HER!

If you haven't heard her talk about "stuff," you probably weren't paying attention! Everything is about "stuff." Trips are "stuff." Even if this were true, and you haven't heard her talk about it, good grief, watch a show...crooked houses, a new house (because the kids deserve it), new kitchen ("the kids wanted a new kitchen"), motorized cars...the list is endless. I only mentioned the tip of the iceberg. We've seen the "stuff," which is so excessive that it's nauseating.

I think it's a matter of semantics. Rather than saying they're poor maybe saying they're unfortunate is more accurate. It's just awkward to say. Of course they're not poor in material things - we can see what they have. It's what they don't have and what's been taken away from them that's so disheartening. The don't have their privacy or the stability of an intact family anymore because Kate's priorities are so screwed up. That IS unfortunate.

Actually admin was right, it IS faulty logic to say Kate's not as bad as some other moms, therefore she must not be very bad! Just because it's a reaction doesn't mean it's not also faulty logic. The two are not mutually exclusive.

But the bigger point is that no kid NEEDS a mansion, 26 acres, a staff, and to have to work their entire lives to get those things.

It's a false dichotomy when you present two extremes and call one extreme better than the other. How about just a NORMAL life? Why can't they just have a normal life?

Kate has made enough money that she and the kids could live off the interest from here on out and be absolutely fine! No worries! She wouldn't even have to work, and neither would those poor kids. No, they couldn't go globe-hopping every month as she seems to love to do. But they'd be very comfortable. For life!

Why is that scenario not put forth by people like No, It's Not?

The statement labeled "faulty logic" is this: "Those poor children have a far better life and more opportunity than millions of other kids in America." Do you really believe that there are no children in America worse off than the Gosselin children? If the answer is no, then you agree with the statement the person made. There was no comment made about whether Kate Gosselin is or isn't a good mother, therefore there is no logic flaw.

"Why is that scenario not put forth by people like No, It's Not?"

Because I have no flippin' clue how much money Kate Gosselin has made and wouldn't presume to claim that she and the kids can live off the interest and be just fine. Of course, you don't know the woman's finances either but have no problem making statements that are not based in fact.

What's next? said...

Wondering if those who support Kate and the kids filming would just for a moment imagine a life where you had no privacy, where a cameraman followed you around filming you. It didn't matter if you were sick or tired or it was terribly hot or cold or you just wanted to play. You were forced to go where they wanted you to go and do what they wanted you to do for as long as they wanted you to. Then they would take this film footage and put it on TV for all to see - even the unflattering ways you responded. Would material things make up for your loss of privacy and freedom? For how long would you be able to tolerate living under these conditions?

Did TLC hunker them into this prison? I mentioned I heard Khate's upkeep bills for house/home/kids is $200k/yr.
Obviously, they didn't seek financial advice before jumping into the Konpound. TLC locked Kons into serious debt and bondage.

I still believe that house was paid for by TLC, due to the fact that they use it as a filming studio.I also think that most of Kates expenses are covered also. All these expenses would be peanuts to TLC.
Kate Gosselin would never have to work her children again and still live very comfortly for the rest of her life.
I keep remembering when Jon said that TLC paid for the dry cleaning. That told me that they were, and still are, kissing Kate Gosselin's ugly ass.

This is good:

KATE Gosselin’s camping trip with Sarah Palin was a total “nightmare” — sources have sensationally revealed.

Reality TV star Kate joined Sarah in Alaska for a weekend of wilderness — but reportedly left the campsite after just two hours following a diva-like meltdown!

According to American tabloid the National Enquirer, Palin pleaded with Gosselin to stay, but she stormed off “amid an avalanche of insults, complaints and tears”.

“It was a nightmare,” s source said.

Everything was caught on tape, of course — Kate agreed to visit Alaska for her TLC show Kate Plus 8.

The only thing missing from that TLC "Kate Plus 8" ad is (in carnival barker style) "Step right up, hurry hurry, the show is about to begin"....

I vote for no recaps.

I am disgusted. Why isn't the mainstream media reporting on this krapola yesterday?

JMO-Don't watch. Don't recap. It's the only way that we can help to save these kids. Besides, why bother watching anymore. Kate will continue to be obnoxious. Kate will continue to treat the kids harshly. Kate will continue to lie. Kate will continue to try to remain controversial to gain attention. Enough.

I would not usually resort to all caps but having witnessed the devastation that has become these children's lives, the only thing that I think should be recapped it a list of the advertisers so we can email the video of the kids trauma at their Dad having to leave them at the gate.
DO NOT WATCH KATE AND HER TWISTED SHOW OR THE DAMAGE TO THESE CHILDREN WILL CONTINUE!!!!
