Was it because of slobber-gate? Although the ratings are still some of the lowest for Kate Plus 8, it was still a disappointing rise from last episode's barely-hanging-on 0.6 mil.

Meanwhile, Kate, who is reportedly worth $4 million, is all a-Twitter that her children cannot do gymnastics because it costs a lot. Maybe if she cut back on her mani/pedis, tanning and hair extensions, there could be more of the children's money left over for things they want to do. Unbelievable her stinginess when it comes to anything that has nothing to do with her.

Kate Plus 8 ratings at 1.302 million, its worst ever

TVBytheNumbers is reporting to one of our readers that Kate Plus 8 hit an all-time low of 1.302 million last Sunday.


Turns out TLC's bait and switch, listing a new episode of the popular, though controversial Sister Wives in many of our cable guides in place of Kate, was an epic fail. Sarah Palin's Alaska, which preceded Kate Plus 8, pulled a respectable 3.5 mil. 2.2 million viewers either switched channels or turned off the tube when Kate came on. Yea!

Alaska ratings hit all time low of 1.3 million

Is it finally over? Ratings are in for Alaska, Here We Come! and they were the worst ever for Kate Plus 8.

Sunday’s 9pm show averaged 1.331 million viewers. The second-lowest rated episode was Pirates, Kites and Turtles, which clocked 1.389.

Ratings are up slightly which is disappointing, but with not one sighting of the children filming all month long, does it even matter? No filming = no show. Meanwhile DWTS did very well, just slightly less than last season's premiere.

Despite desperate (and sometimes bizarre) attempts this week to drum up interest in Kate Plus 8, the ratings for Rough Ride remained almost as low as last week's episode:

Compare to Home Roost which came in at 2.229 million viewers - 1.5/3 HH - 0.8/2 A18-49, and the premiere of Kate Plus 8, which clocked 3.4 million.

Kate Plus 8 loses more than a million viewers

Are viewers tired of watching Kate hen-peck her adorable kids to death?

The ratings are in for the second Kate Plus 8 Special "Home Roost" (a.k.a. Chicken Coop/Work Day and Kids Play). And they've taken an exciting nose dive.

Down from the 3.4 million it scored last month. The Next Food Network Star, Army Wives, and Entourage all did better.

Why the huge loss? Possible theories:

• The show isn't the same without Jon being henpecked too.


• It's fine to henpeck Jon but not so pleasant to watch the same happen to the kids.


• Over-saturation of Kate from DWTS.


• Kids are getting older and aren't going along with this anymore.


• America is sick of Kate complaining how hard her lavish life is.


• Viewers were shocked at the way Mady was treated.

Unfortunately, 2.2 million is still pretty good for a little cable network. Keep up the good work and tune out. The recaps will still be here!

(The World Cup probably had no impact on the ratings, as it was broadcast live throughout the U.S. during the early to mid-afternoon, hours before Kate Plus 8 aired.)
