Hahahahahahaha- I love Jimmy Kimmel :o)
And the video you posted is an absolute riot!

Poor bear. The pathetic, tired, beaten-down look on the bear's face, was PRICELESS.

Looks sorta like the face Jon made many times (in many episodes), everytime Kate nagged or pecked him.

Poor bear/poor Jon. I don't agree with the way he ran amok when he escaped- but I understand
his frustration and anger towards Kate.

I'll pass on watching Kate make a spectacle of herself in front of Sarah & family- but I do look forward to reading what everyone thought of the show, and if it was worth all the hype.

Gee, I wonder what Kate will be doing tonight:

A. Hunkering down with her kids to watch their life. Since this is their home movies.
B. Be in bed by 7:31pm as she claims.
C. Avoiding watching the show and pacing and figuring out what to do whilst the ratings drop and how peoplw will precieve her thereafter.
D. Not worry about what anyone thinks about her and hoping she will be able to plan for Christmas/New Year show that won't air until March.

I just watched the Dutch Wonderland clip on YouTube (the Purell licking incident). About 3/4 of the way through, Kate says, "I am willing to stay at something as long as everyone's happy."

So much changes when you're a diva. The kids were having a good time camping in Alaska, but she ended it. She's such a darn liar, and she's not even good at it.

Kate is a piece of work thinking her life is JUST like Sarah Palin's. Yes it's so similar! Not.

I think what she meant was "I am willing to stay at something as long as it's FREE."

&&&&&&&&&&&&&

What a little rain? It's camping, it happens. Like Sarah said it was NOT that bad!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Ten minutes in and she's already dumped the kids on the nanny in a strange place to go do whatever with Sarah Palin all day. So typical!

Trucker said...

Kate is noticebly uncomfortable around people. But talks to the males.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I noticed that, she is VERY awkward. As soon as she met Sarah she went off to explore the bear skin, she couldn't even make eye contact with Sarah. No "hi how are you" no small talk you make normally with people. Sarah was trying with her. This is VERY similar to the narcissist I know, she has a huge problem with a normal conversation.

Kate is sooo rude. "You REALLY like this?" Come on Kate don't insult what someone loves and does all the time. The way you can tell it's really not THAT cold? You can't even see anyone's breath, several people are not wearing gloves, and Todd's in just a baseball cap. If it were really cold, believe me I know growing up in a freezing climate, you don't leave home without gloves and hats.

The kids are having a GREAT TIME even Kate admits it. All she's doing is standing there under a tent bitching about how it's cruel and unusual punishment. If her kids are perfectly capable of being out there helping out with a smile why can't Kate?

What's with that said...

I'm pretty sure when Kate asked if the bear's tongue is removable he said, "Yes, it is."

Who said it was? Kate can't even be gracious under ideal conditions, so I wouldn't expect the camping trip to be any different.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

At my parties the poopers get kicked out.

If Kate would get off her ass, start collecting firewood with the kids, fishing, and helping out around camp, she wouldn't be so cold. Has she ever heard of the ocncept of getting your blood moving? That's probably why the kids are having a ball and not cold, they're actually helping out.

Typical, the kids are working and Kate is just collecting the checks.

captain kitchen said...

Can do, pouty face, cud chewing Kate........you betcha!

Unreal said...

This is painful to watch. The kids are having a blast, helping, learning and all Kate can do is stand under a canopy and complain. She's not even TRYING to take part. Unbelievable that she would be paid for this.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

What a wonderful idea, making a map of Alaska out of rocks.

The kids are having a blast. A blast! They found the rocks with their bare hands, it can't be that cold. They are so open to trying the moose meat and so on. Even Mady looks so thrilled!

Bless Sarah's little heart trying to be so upbeat and cheer up Kate: "We'll try to make everyone happy, it's gonna be fun!"

Where are the Sarah Palin boards out there? Now I'm kind of curious what her die-hard fans have to say about this. I think Kate just got herself like 5 million enemies.

Meanwhile, "Why would you pretend to be homeless???" Kate bitches. Now Kate is bitching to production and CRYING! What a freaking baby.

Trucker said...

RFLMAO!!! What a spoiled bitch!
And a fool!
Live Sarah's expressions!
Who would behave like this? Only Kate Gosselin!

Midnight Madness said...

If she wanted hand-sanitizer, why wouldn't she pack some herself? Is she totally incapable about thinking ahead as to what she might need, or does she assume that her hired hands are going to do everything for her?

I never go anywhere without wipes in my purse. Super-organized Kate is a super unorganized disaster.

I'm enjoying the running commentary but wish so many people (from here) weren't watching. The Palin fans will take care of kate. lolol

OH MY GOD. The kids wanted to stay and Kate made them go!!!!!!!!!!!!

She asked them if they wanted to stay and they said YES. WTFFFF. That is total bullshit.

Sarah Palin basically said this is bullshit, in so many words. Her dad said I never heard the kids complain ONCE.

SarahP said...

That is so sad that Kate guilts her kids into leaving even when they are having a wonderful time.

Funny how Sarah's dad just said "She b****ed the moment she stepped off the plane." Sure wish I was able to hear what he said off mic.

captain kitchen said...

LMAO...Piper didn't even want to walk them back to the boat.

And that was not bear proof food.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Sarah's quote makes me very sad. "the kids woulda had a good time and never would have forgotten spending the night out in the wilderness in Alaska." Exactly! But because their spoiled brat of a mother isn't having fun they have to end it.

Kate robbed them of this. Robbed. They wanted to stay!

Moose Mania said...

I liked Sarah Palin before, but my respect for her just shot up 100 percent after these shows. She's so devoted to her family and to making memories -- the right kind of memories. Kate will never get this, and I kind of feel sorry for her. I'd love to have my kids experience camping in Alaska with Sarah, and I'm not an outdoorsy survival person. I'd do it for my kids. This would have been the experience of a lifetime, and Kate denies her children the opportunity. I'll never understand that. What in heaven's name is wrong with this woman?

Denise said...

I figured TLC had shown the worst scenes as a tease but apparently she was really horrible. I didn't watch but I think I will break down and watch the second showing. Surely this is it for Kate....

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I'm not saying Sarah Palin is special or different than anyone else, but does Kate realize that if Sarah Palin were to auction off a night of camping with her family in Alaska, it would probably go for half a million dollars?

But ehh, Kate is too cold and tired and getting bug bites! Kate wants to go hoooome.

That gives me an idea, Sarah Palin should auction this off, then give the money to Kate's favorite charity. SNAP!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Oh Denise the previews didn't even begin to explain what a total bitchity bitch Kate was.

Meanwhile Sarah is the real deal. Politics aside she is the real deal.

Michelle said...

I think Kate lost Piper as a fan! And did it occur to Kate that if you're cold, standing around doing nothing will only make you colder. Go look for firewood, look for rocks with YOUR kids to make the Alaska map, help cook, DO SOMETHING!

So what does Kate enjoy besides tanning, nails, salons, shopping and doing NOTHING! Wow, what fun stuff for kids to enjoy with you.

Unreal said...

Kate's favorite charity is Kate.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Sarah's dad was trying to get Kate to stand closer to the fire. The thing with outdoor fires is if you are too far away you will get NO heat but once you get close enough to get some heat you will get warm as toast.

But of course Kate said oh nothing will help I won't ever get warm, and she refused to get closer!

She never wanted to stay. She set herself up that there was no way for her to get comfortable so it would fail and she could GO. She didn't want to risk getting too close and getting warm and comfortable.

Just sayin.. said...

Kate's favorite charity is Kate.

gotyournumberKate said...

There was definitely no acting or putting this on. You could just see the disgust in the Palin family's eyes. I figured I'd watch it and say to myself she wasn't as bad as the promos made her look but she was 100 times worse than I figured she would be and that's pretty bad considering I can't stand the woman. She made no attempt whatsoever to join in and try to make the best of it for her kids sakes. I feel so much worse than ever for those poor kids. If there is a person alive that tries to justify her behavior they are mentally ill. There is no justifying this one. None.

naomi said...

I can't stand Kate. My husband and I could barley stand to watch her. Her babies were having a blast and she couldn't even suck it up for them. That woman is a complete mess!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The look Piper was giving Kate when Kate was bitching to her about how she does this for FUN???

Even a 10-year-old knew what a rude, ungrateful, bitch of a houseguest she was hosting.

BerksPa said...

Twitter is going a little crazy. Looks like Kate lost all credibility. Her true colors on this episode have made her Persona nongrata!

WOW! See...give her enough rope...

Gracious Sarah (from all the tweets I've seen). Will watch tomorrow, my son wants to laugh.

Side Note: This past spring/summer (can't remember what month) we drove past the Gosselin place on our way home from Blue Marsh. Kate was outside yelling at some dude standing by a white work truck/box truck (just inside the gate). We could hear it as we drove by with our windows down...She was that loud.

Denise said...

The excuses at the fan-sites are HILARIOUS!!! I always said Kate could never turn them against her. They are still defending her behaviour.

JurseyChic24 said...

I am a born and raised Jersey girl. My parents took me camping in the Shenandoah mountains when I was young and my memories are mostly of the bear that was trapped at the campground that weekend.

When I was in my mid-20s, my ex-husband brought me to Virginia and we started a tradition of camping with his family every 4th of July at a rural campground. No bathrooms, no running water except for the Shenandoah river, no amenities at all. This city girl LOVES it. Even after my ex and I split, I continued to go with my children every year. The kids have been camping there since they were newborns and THEY love it.

Yes, it's not for everyone, but it's doable and can be loads of fun if you just give it a chance, if only for one night. It won't kill you, and the time you spend surrounded by nature, family and friends is exactly what memories are made of. Even my city-slicker sister was able to rough it for a couple nights.

Sarah and her family were prepared as ours is. You bring water, soap, dry and warm clothes and food and you make the best of it. Rain or shine. In fact, some of the years that it did rain are the most memorable because we were all together under a tarp or in a tent and we had to make our own fun.

Come on, it's NOT THAT BAD! :)

Knows Quality said...

Wow.

Unbelievable. Even for us "haters" - that was just painful to watch.

I did laugh when Kate said, (and I'm paraphrasing; don't have the exact quote): "And they say I'M the crazy one?"

A little bit of (some) self-awareness from Miss Kate on how the rest of the world sees her.

But, man. That was painful. I really felt bad for the Palin family at the incredible rudeness that Kate showed.

Livvy said...

What the heck did she expect??? Lets face it Kate went for one reason. $$$$$$$. OK. The camp site was in the wilderness but it was also a film set. I have to believe TLC had food there for them. It looked like Sarah's mom was there enjoying herself. Everyone was enjoying themselves except the queen. Those children were having a ball and wanted to stay.
Kate was being paid for that spectacle. I guess in reality TV you can tell your employer you are done, walk out and still keep your job.
This does not bode well for Kates future employment outside of TLC. Who would take the chance of Kate having a hissy fit and walk out on a production because she didn't like the way things were going???

Bitch amd Moan said...

I watched the episode because I always watch Palin and I wasn't going to let Khate mess than up for me but she did The kids were not like themselves at all. It was like they were walking on eggshells, muted, afraid to show joy. But you could still tell they were having a good time. The look on Hannah's face when she said do you want to go and she said no and Khate said you're not a Gosselin and Hannah looked so dejected and said okay I'll go. They were having fun but also appeared sad at the same time. And Todd kept fishing when he wasn't catching anything and Sarah said he was smarter than he looked - hiding out. She was intimidated by the Palins and what they had I believe including the extended family and the author right next door. What a mean ungrateful bitch who has got her kids sooo messed up they don't if they are coming or going. Not one smile - one tiny moment of glee from Mady. I really like Mr. Palin. He is a wise old man. Khate's cruelty to the kids has reached an all time high. Those kids need an intervention. She is messing with their heads.

Pants on Fire said...

When her child (Joel?) said he wanted to stay, kHate said something like, "Then you're no longer a Gosslein. You're a Palin." Grrrrrrrrr!

kHate was miserable because she was being totally upstaged by Sarah Palin - a genuine mom & awesome human being. kHate was pouting like a 2-year-old.

And I agree about her inability to socialize. No eye contact, no chit-chat, hunched-over posture the entire show.

I haven't had TLC on my TV since the 5th birthday party episode, so I don't feel guilty for watching tonight. I mean -- you had to see this to believe it. Unbelievable.

Anon 1 said...

Did y'all catch the comment Sarah made to Todd while he was a bit away from the camp fishing? Clearly having no intention of joining the 'party' while Kate was around. She said "oh, you're not as dumb as you look". LOL

FL mama said...

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but when she asked the kids whether they wanted to stay or go, when they all said "I want to stay" she said "OK then you're not a Gosselin anymore, you're a Palin". The looks in those little ones eyes were so sad! They looked terrified. Cruel to her kids, and unbelievably rude to her hosts.

She just wants to be in her luxury hotel suite with the kids off in their rooms with the nannies.

LOVE Sarah's dad!

gotyournumberKate said...

Ok, I'm not done:) I'm sitting here trying to figure out TLC's motive for showing Kate in such a horrible light. I mean she asked her one tup (not sure which boy it was) if he wanted to stay and he said actually yes, he did and she still took them away. If I saw my kids were having that much fun and didn't want to leave I would have sucked it up. Does TLC really think this will improve the ratings for Kate Plus 8 or are they trying to get rid of her? I can't for the life of me imagine anyone supporting or wanting to watch her show after this behavior.

Moose Mania said...

Kate told Sarah that this is where the similarities end. What similarities? Sarah has much more class and graciousness in her little finger than Kate has in her entire body. She has absolutely NOTHING in common with Sarah. I was actually yelling at the television when Sarah was telling Kate about her neighbor and the fence. Kate said that her kids can't play in her front yard because of the paps. What a nutcase! She calls Chris, for heaven's sakes. Sarah doesn't call her weird neighbor to let him know when she's going out and about!

This was worse than I had imagined. They had hamburgers and hot dogs - the kids were happy with marshmallows!

Sadly they are going to grow up just like Kate, with greed and entitlement...unless someone steps in, and it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

HW said...

Kate asked her kids "do you want to be a Palin or a Gosselin?" When they all answered "Palin." She acted like she was going to leave them. At least one of the little ones then said "No I want to be a Gosselin and go with you..." How cruel to threaten your kids like that.

It was also cruel for her to bully Piper like she did. How dare she taunt a little girl with "you REALLY like this....?" She was like a mean high school girl hazing a freshman. I bet when Sarah sees that clip she really will be loaded for bear.....

Wish I could see what Kate's fans say but I can't access that blog anymore.

Mimi to 3 said...

Just when you think she can't possibly get any worse, she does. She is such a total b**ch. Even Sarah's Dad pegged her when he said 'she was a bitch from the time she got off the plane'. I mean, let's admit it, the weather was not good and it was cold and wet. But she was the only one complaining and making a total ass of herself. I could not believe it when she was crying because she was starving. Are you kidding? Those burgers looked like they were so good and she had a hot dog and there were smores. So no, she wasn't starving. I think Kate went a long way to driving off the rest of whoever would ever want to watch her again. She was the only one standing under the cover while everyone else including her 8 kids were having fun and making the best of it. But no, not Kate, no sir.

Oh, but they are. TLC set her up, they couldn't have lasted as long as Kate, etc. NOT one mention by the sheeple of how rude, crass, poor white trash looking, Kate was. Not one word. Wait, there was one gal, surprised they let her comment go through. Is that the way her parents raised her? No common courtesy, no manners? Yes, Kate is uncomfortable with women, because she perceives that she's in competition w/every woman she meets.

I don't see how she even got close enough to Todd to say she 'liked' that kinda guy? He clearly wanted nothing to do with her.

Anita said...

I agree with another poster, Kate can't seem to carry on a normal conversation with another woman. When entering Sarah's home, there was no thank you for having us,your home is beautiful, just what a beautiful view in a very deadpan voice. It was also hard to watch Kate not be be involved or participate with her children. Why have kids???? This is just nuts!! Come on, I'm sure they knew it was raining at the camp before Kate & the kids even got in the plane, so where were the extra cloths, gloves, hats, ext.? I pack more gear for my dogs when we go camping. Kate didn't what to help because she didn't want to get her white jacket dirty. Who wears white camping? Also, the food wasn't safe from bears in the coolers!!!! I know that and I just live in northern Michigan.

It was not only painful to watch, but even with all the nasty things Kate has done in her 15 minutes, I have to say, she outdid herself on this trip. I'd be humiliated to walk out in public after this show aired if I were Kate. Ashamed and embarassed.

Kate can't endure one simple night camping? And, what got me is how rude and awkward Kate was! Not a thank you, or once telling the kids to say thank you.

LOVED the end when Palin's dad said "all she did was stand there and bitch" BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

TLC stuck it to her HARD. She must have done something to piss them off.

First of all, this is Kate's JOB. (her famous words) She is getting $250k per episode. She likes to say she HAS to do this for her kids, to make money. So why the whining and crying? She SIGNED UP FOR THIS.
Also, her biggest refrain of why she is doing this show is so the kids can have 'free trips' and 'new experiences'. So WHY did you freak out and pull them away from this experience? What a complete hyprocrite. This has to stop and TLC cannot justify this anymore, can they?

On the Crayola factory episode, Kate didn't let them color b/c "we wear nice shirts and I don't want marker on their nice shirts." I thought it was very telling that Kate showed no interest in the Sarah, Todd, or Chuck. She just isn't interested in other people. Here she was elbow to elbow with a former governor, or former vice presidential candidate, and quite possible a contender for the White House in the next race. And Kate doesn't have ONE question for these people? Not one curiosity? What a bland, simple, shallow person she is--(besides a horrible mother).

I would have chatted up Sarah's dad, and everyone to see what they have to say.

Oh, and the bit she said how gorgeous Alaska is and all but camping just isn't for her. Bullshit. She is incapable of seeing the beauty of Alaska. Liar.

And the look Piper gave her was classic, like she had dog turds on the bottom of her shoes and couldn't get it off. The sheeple can continue to defend and defend her, but anyone who saw that show with an open mind, saw Kate and who she has become -- an entitled diva only to herself.

Re: Kate's snarl at Piper.

I've said before I think Kate tries to be Young and Cool, which includes using Young and Cool talk. Often that comes across as rude. I think she thought Piper would think she was Young and Cool if she spoke rudely. Piper apparently knows better, even at the tender age of 10. It's called being raised with some clue
about how to speak intergenerationally.

Still don't care for Sarah Palin, but I do give her credit as a mom. Her kids are fun loving,
high spirited and age appropriately self ruling,
but they still know when to rein it in. Kate never learned.

I loved seeing how engaged the kids were when Sarah's dad & brother were teaching them things. The kids were calm and focused.

Also, savvy comment from Sarah, "Kids have fun when they're pitching in and helping out." paraphrase
Smart lady - she knows that kids love to feel useful and competent. And that their behavior needs to be directed - you can't just let them run wild and pound on each other.

I forgot to add that Sarah and her entire family were much, much more gracious than I would have ever been. Kate wouldn't have HAD to have left early; I would have KICKED her ass out of camp and kept the kids. God knows she wouldn't have minded that.

I remember years ago, I went camping with my family (mom, dad, sister, aunt, uncle and cousin) in Yellowstone and it rained almost the entire time. But you know what? We had a great time just like Sarah and her family (and the Gosselin kids for that matter!) Camping is what you make it. We were just enjoying the beautiful scenery and being with family, playing games around the camp fire, etc. Everyone was prepared for rain, so no one froze and the few days that were sunny were even more special than they would have been otherwise. I still remember it as one of my favorite camping experiences.

Thank you KyPastor for that beautiful post. Hearing that Kate's father was a minister, I wonder why his sermons never touched her heart.
*****

From my understanding, Kenton Kreider is not a full time minister on staff at his church. He fills in if needed sort of like a substitute. That could be because he is retired, I don't really know.

According to locals, he is every bit as arrogant and bullying as Kate. Apparently the family is rather dysfunctional and Kate's marriage to Jon was very much like her parents, although role reversed with Kate being the dominant, bullying partner and Jon being the passive one.

When Kate refused the donations of mismatched cribs and gently used baby clothes from his church, Kenton was furious not because it was disrespectful to the people who had been so generous to his daughter but rather because it made him look bad. To quote Kate, she "was embarrassing him".

Again, I don't know the man personally but from local reports Kate's apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Whhhha? This has to be facetious, right? First of all I doubt any of this camping trip was arranged by Sarah. It was 100% arranged by production--by Palin production and maybe Kate Plus 8 production. So I guess it was rude of PRODUCTION to invite someone on a camping trip. And this was not planned the night before, probably weeks if not months went into it. How were they supposed to know it was going to sprinkle. It was SPRINKLING, not raining, not pouring. Sprinkling.

As for firearms, it's the opposite of rude. It's considerate, protecting your guests on the off chance an angry bear approaches camp. This is the NORM in the wilderness. It's rude to expect people to change the NORM because YOU are there.

As for it's rude to serve food without utencils? Since when do you eat a hotdog with utencils.

It is very, very sad that Kate can't be happy just because the kids are. Not because anything else, just for the kids. Despite the cold, the hunger, the rain, the children are having a ball and shouldn't she as a mother get joy out of that? Isn't that what joy in motherhood IS? Being happy to see your offspring having a good life?

Did anyone notice how depressed Colin looked when he got to Sarah's house? He just laid down on the bearskin rug like he was beaten down. There's no way to measure the misery these children must endure every day that they're forced to be with Kate. I didn't even see Cara at all. Her face was probably so sad that they wouldn't even film it. Hannah never left Kate's side in the tent. That poor child is going to be a mini-Kate and I always thought she had the most potential of all of the sextuplets. Kate's ruined her. If the shaking incident with Mady actually happened, it probably took place after Kate announced that they were leaving. I could see Mady having a fit about that. I also didn't hear Kate thank Sarah even once before she left even after Sarah bent over backwards to make it as enjoyable as possible. Kate continues to complain about the kids being unable to play in their front yard because of all of the paparazzi. Wonder how long she's going to keep up with THAT lie? I really wonder how it must feel to be the most hated woman in America. Do you think that Kate realizes that she is just that?

Here's something I posted on the Kate + 8 fan page on Facebook. Whenever I try to post the whole thing on here, it always says "error". So I will do this in 2 parts:

Here's something I'd like all Kate's fans to see:

1. Kate told her kids that she and Daddy were going to be together forever, and they ended up getting divorced.

2. Kate claims to be a Christian, yet tells her kids that they're not going to Heaven and Jesus doesn't love bad people.

3. Kate cries she is poor and can't pay the bills, yet she spends $2000 on her hair, and made $3.5 million dollars last year.

4. Kate chewed Jon out for forgetting to use a coupon, yet spends $2000 on her hair and constantly goes tanning and has her nails done.

5. Kate says everything is for the kids, yet when the went to the Crayola factory, they weren't allowed to color till they got home, and when they went to the bakery to decorate cupcakes for their birthday, they weren't allowed to eat them until they got home. Lastly, if everything is for the kids, why did they have to leave Alaska if the kids were having fun? Because Kate was tired, cold, wet and hungry. They left because KATE wasn't having fun. Can you still defend it's about the kids?

6. During one couch interview, Kate told Jon "I just love when you interrupt me", yet later in that same episode she interrupts him. In another couch interview, Kate sighs as Jon talks and tells him "you just ramble on so", yet she has no problem running her mouth. She really does love the sound of her own voice and likes to hear herself talk.

Anonymous said...

Part 2 of my post:

7. Kate says she's "ironically" forgiven Jon, but yet forbids the nannies/babysitters from talking to him or about him, and won't let the kids stay at his place when she's gone. She'd rather pay nannies and babysitters than letting her kids go to their father's house, the father she says she's forgiven?

8. Kate said she sits at home waiting for the phone to ring when the kids are at Jon's house because the kids don't like it there and it's not home to them. The day after she said that, she flew to Mexico to have a photo shoot done.

9. Shortly after they divorced and Kate was having her hair extensions put in, Kate said she was "Can-Do Kate", but apparently couldn't "do it" enough for the Alaska episode with Sarah Palin. They were supposed to stay 2 days and ended up leaving after 2 hours. (At least according to what I read).

10. A lot of Kate's fans claim that Kate had to treat Jon that way because he was like a 9th child. When their show was first called "Surviving Sextuplets and Twins", Jon said that he always made Kate her morning coffee as he got ready for work. He also bathed the little kids and helped Mady and Cara get ready for school. Jon did A LOT. I don't care if your spouse doesn't do enough around the house to help out; that's no excuse to be mean. PERIOD. There are enough mean people in the world who make excuses for their behavior. We don't need people excusing Kate's behavior. That's like enabling a drug addict, saying, "Well, he/she is really depressed and they could use that high." Drugs will harm your body. Kate's yelling and put downs hurt Jon's self-esteem.

I could say more but I'll stop. If any more Kate fans still say that we're just jealous of her, you're delusional. Right. I'm jealous of a woman who lost a loving husband, willing friends, her faith, estranged her family, and has her kids and most of America hating her. If anyone says we're jealous of her, I think YOU'RE the ones jealous of her. You want to be rich like her and to able to go tanning and get your nails and hair done.

End of rant.

Administrator, I have to say, I'M the one who hated girl scouts. We never went camping, heck, we never went anywhere except to meet at school we gathered at. We went to Wal Marts to sell cookies that was it and pick up trash, color, put on plays--nothing remotely that interested me because our troop never DID anything. Yet my mother forced me to go, every week whether I liked it or not. I said I did not like it, I complained, I protested and all it got me was being dropped off every week. I took up flute and when I began to get tremors from so much stress which manifested itself in that form from me suffering being told I had to do this or I had to do that whether I liked it or not, I resent being forced to play my flute for our church whether I really wanted to or not. I had to go to girl scouts whether I wanted to or not.

I have a bit of resentment being forced do things I lost interest in or had no interest in to begin with and I can't help but wonder how much resentment Kate's kids will have. Didn't she herself once say she resents her parents for forcing her to play violin? HELLOOOO!!!

What's funny about Kate and her hand sanitizer is that the hotel they are going back to is probably far dirtier and nastier and full of germs than the campsite ever was. If Kate had just TRIED it would be a lot easier to accept her quitting. If she had gotten up and moving, gathered rocks, firewood, helped to cook. And then said I tried I can't do it. Instead she just stood there. And people are upset about contestants quitting Survivor after 28 DAYS of being cold, wet and hungry.

If she wanted hand-sanitizer, why wouldn't she pack some herself? Is she totally incapable about thinking ahead as to what she might need, or does she assume that her hired hands are going to do everything for her?
----------

Sadly, since having her own reality show, she's become completely dependent on her production crew and hired help to do everything for her. In many of the Gosselin trips, it's evident that she's not the so-called organized, supermom she wanted us to believe. Supermoms always have the essentials packed (if not, over-packed) and a few extras if things don't go as planned. Has there been a situation lately where she's done something completely by herself?

Kate did the Palins a favor by leaving early. Too bad she didn't let her kids spend the night, if the Palins didn't mind. There were plenty of adults at the campsite anyway.

Did the nanny go on this camping trip but was later edited out at the campsite? Another female adult was present before the Gosselins boarded the float plane.

And the gun thing? She sure didn't mind using a gun at the dude ranch, if she went through a box of bullets.

There's a discussion at Small Town Gosselin's that is legally confusing and I wonder if you would mind interpreting the DOL ruling from November '09? What I thought was clear is now clear as mud.

The DOL ruling reads: "At least 15% of the gross proceeds of this show and future shows or performances, due to the children, remain or will be placed in the irrevocable trusts accounts for the minors registered on November 20, 2009 .... until the minors reach at least 18 years old unless the funds are distributed for the safety, welfare, education or health of the minor children according to the terms of the trusts and applicable state law." ...
http://tmz.vo.llnwd.net/o28/newsdesk/tmz_documents/0414_gosselin.pdf

What are the children supposed to be paid? Are theyn entitled to 15% of the gross proceeds of the show? Or do they get 15% of Kate's salary of $250,000/episode? What are the children 'due'?

Thanks!

Watching this episode, the first thing that struck me was how withdrawn all the Gosselin kids looked after they got off the plane and arrived at the camp. Looks like Kate primed them for how miserable the trip would be..."Look at the nasty rain, kids! This is going to be awful!" But once they got away from her and became engaged in the activities, they perked up and acted like normal kids enjoying the adventure. Sarah's dad was like the grandpa they (literally) never had. This reminded me of the wonderful camping trips I took with my grandparents as a child in Northern California. It was always freezing at night and chilly during the day, but those are some of my happiest childhood memories.

All you bloggers have perfectly described Kate's atrocious, ungrateful behavior at the campsite with the Palins, so I won't comment on that. I am becoming more and more worried about the kids after watching this episode. Kate is unbelievably manipulative with those children. Their behavior in her presence is really troubling. They appear incredibly defeated and sad. I mentioned on another thread that I have taught and observed literally hundreds of elementary kids over the past 21 years...the Gosselin children are in serious emotional and psychological trouble. It's depressing to watch.

For someone who wants a career in the entertainment industry as a host/co-host of a talk show or correspondent that interviews celebrities or other famous folks, this episode (or the editing of it) highlighted that she does not have the skills or true desire to pull it off. Since we know it isn't "all for the kids", she should have at least endured with the thought of furthering her career. Could have been editing, but I doubt it.

You know it's pretty impressive when Sarah Palin, who is by all accounts a very polarizing person, loved with a passion by man, hated with a passion by just as many, and she ends up looking like if Mother Teresa, Princess Diana and the Dali Lama had a baby together.

People can't stop talking about what a great mother Sarah Palin is, how real she is, how polite, how patient. Although when her competition is Kate that is not saying much.

I think when it comes down to it Sarah Palin is just TLC's next big thing and they don't care about throwing the old dirty laundry, Kate, under the bus if it helps the new thing.

I'm really glad they specifically showed at least three of the kids saying NO they do NOT want to go they want STTTAY.

Do you know how easy it would have been for TLC to do its typical M.O. edit and just have Kate tell us in an interview the kids hated the camping and told her they wanted to go home? We all would have called BULLSHIT but there would be no way to prove it. Finally we hear from the kids themselves, sure enough, they wanted to stay.

Adm, I know you like to be factual, so I just want to correct something. The "neighbor" next to Sarah Palin was well-known, well-respected author Joe McGinniss and he was simply renting the space next door to the Palins from her neighbor for the summer. Yes, he is writing a book about Palin, and I don't blame her for finding him being so close intrusive or for putting up a fence, but he was no threat to anyone.

You know it does beg to question the conversation related to filming the show & how the kids answer....my guess is they may say "no" and Kate tells them how broke they would be begging for food---

Oh, if only Jon had remained her servant. Bet she wished she still had him to do all these "icky" things with the kids. Just like the Utah episode when she was "sick" and then managed to go to the spa. The thing is he'd do it WITHOUT the cameras and actually enjoy himeself.

You know how you can tell that Sarah is really a class act? By the fact she had every right and reason to throw Kate under the bus after Kate left the campsite. There were LOTS of negative things that Sarah could have said about Kate and her behavior but she didn't. She actually defended Kate to the point of telling her dad, "Well, I might have acted the same way if I was in NY at a red carpet event." No, Sarah would smile and try to make the best of any situation, happy or not. That's just the type of person Sarah is. But it speaks volumes to me that Sarah continued to make gracious, forgiving comments about Kate even when she had every right not to or to not say anything at all, in fact. IMO Sarah didn't want to make Kate look bad for the sake of Kate's children and her own. No matter what you might have thought about Sarah before this, you surely have to respect her now.

Hippie Chick said...

I didn't watch, but are you all frigin kidding me?? Kate was THAT bad? She actually said that to Piper? She actually asked her own kids if they were Gosselin's or Palin's? Sarah's dad said she bitched the minute she got off the plane? WOW. Just wow. I'm wondering why TLC showed her in such a negative light, but then I remember, Palin is their new baby...Kate is old news. She has burned too many bridges, said too many stupid things, is too contraversial, I guess. Kate is a monster mom who subjects her kids to long filming schedules for her own greed & maybe TLC had seen the light. I think TLC is done with her once & for all. Let the bashing begin...& the ratings slide in the toilet. TLC won't do a thing about it.

Anonymous said...

I don't watch anything Kate Gosselin as I lived it for 3 years when she lived in Westbrooke Development in Elizabethtown but after reading your comments -- all I can say is -- vindication -- the world is seeing this person for who she truly is and those who know her have experienced. TLC loves her because this unstable person is raising a large family. It is good ratings and they are all about the money. Do you really think they give a damn about these children? Sadly, many in power know of the goings on- people did speak up, did file letters, even People Magazine knew but they chose to sell more magazines by milking all of the fluff stories. It is all one big farce and unfortunately there are children involved who NEVER had a voice, Jon wasn't given one, why do fans think that the children do? IMEO it is emotional abuse, plain and simple and there seems to no longer be anyone in her life that is honest with her and gives her a good dose of reality.

My favourite line:
When Sara said "We left the kids with THEIR NANNY..." and then they went to the bear training.

Hmm.....she must be mistaken, Kart does not travel with a nanny. She does it alone all alone! They must have hired one just for the bear training! /snark

I think this was the only episode in a long time where I thought each of the Gosselin kids was sweet and content - at least through the camping. They were all calm and at peace and behaving like relaxed children. The difference? I believe it's because they actually had adults that would speak to them like children, teach them, show them patience, look them in the eye, etc. Ever since Jodi and Kevin have been removed from their lives, we have not seen anybody treat those children with such love. I do hope that the kids are just as relaxed and calm when they are with Jon.
The whole thing just made me so sad as I thought about how unusual it is for those kids to be treated with tenderness.

HW said...

I can't wait to see Kate try to defend this and blame editing, etc, because Sarah Palin will not hesitate to fire back (pun intended) with the truth. I think we finally have one TLC star who is not going to keep her mouth shut about what really happened during the filming of that episode. Bring it on Kate.

And I agree with the earlier comment that Kate had no problem shooting a gun at the dude ranch. So for her to say she is not a gun advocate is ridiculous. What she means is "I'm not an advocate of shooting a gun with a woman who is prettier and more powerful than I can ever hope to be. I prefer to shoot them while I can flirt with a man..."

Laine said...

Kate could not have done a better job of showing what a horrible mother she is. I was disgusted by her saying her children would be Palins not Gosselins when they said they wanted to stay. The look on her children's faces spoke volumes about the mental abuse they take from her. And to top it off she has to be rude to Piper who is one year younger than the twins, but is a remarkably poised and delightful young girl.

It was amazing to see the difference in the Gosselin children as they interacted with the Palins compared to Kate.

Too bad they didn't show the reaction to the bucket for a toilet. I did not make the connection to Willow's comment at the end until someone mentioned it earlier.

From Todd's reaction, I hope Katie doesn't have any hopes there.

Kate did not do herself a favor with her hair trip to NYC before this episode aired.

I wonder what went on that wasn't shown, but sure don't want to see anymore of Kate.

This article says it all. You cannot blame it on 'editing'. That is so ridiculous.

http://watching-tv.ew.com/2010/12/12/sarah-palin-alaska-kate-gosselin/

"Why does she voluntarily place herself in situations in which she knows she’ll end up in a foul mood, and then not even try, even if only for the selfish reason of improving her media image, to be minimally pleasant? Since every one of Kate’s complaints was made directly to the camera, no one can even claim that the producers of Sarah Palin’s Alaska somehow edited the footage to make Gosselin look bad.

She did that all on her own."

Amen! I am absolutely disgusted how she acted.

Hippie Chick said...

Maybe Kate wasn't getting 250K for this episode? It wasn't her show. And NO, I am NOT defending Kate. This could be why she was so damn rude. She thought, "Why bother? I'm only here for xx amount, this isn't even MY show, why should I try to be polite?" This is so bad for her. I don't think she knows the ramifications of this stunt she pulled. Just from reading what I have read, I may have to watch on Youtube. Unbelievable that she threatened her kids, didn't say thank you, etc. She's dead in the water. Kate thinks she is indestructible. She really effed up with this one...

My fellow campers, can you imagine arriving at your campsite only needing to bring yourself and your kids? No need to pack supplies, food, pitch the tents, gather wood to start the fire, etc. IMO that's the crappiest thing about camping. It's a lot of work to get organized and set up. Guess they should have saved all that for Kate. She would have certainly stayed warm.

As for the sheeple spinning this, Dr. Lillian Glass explained them best in one of her comments. Someone asked her how in the world there are people who still so vehemently defend Kate. Dr. Glass said: It took me a long time to realize that the reason Kate still has fans is because these women identify with Kate. They are either just like her, or wish they were more like her. They will defend her as though they are defending their own identity.

It's all for the ratings folks said...

Does TLC really think this will improve the ratings for Kate Plus 8 or are they trying to get rid of her? I can't for the life of me imagine anyone supporting or wanting to watch her show after this behavior.
*******************
Oh, this is ratings GOLD. On Sunday morning, the Today Show once again promoted the episode and the spin was that this pairing is lightning in a bottle. Big, big time draw.
Two polarizing women...camping and firing rifles etc? It's must-see-tv.
Thanks for all the reports. I didn't watch. It appears that Kate's behavior was even worse than initially reported, or as bad as initially reported.
If you think TLC showed her highness in all her heinousness to "get rid of her" or damage her ratings, think again. TLC is savvy, and Kate is dumb like a fox. The latter knowing exactly how to keep the spotlight on herself and remain in the news and on the tube. Like the reality tv producer said on Small Town Gosselin's blog, the shows aren't scripted, their contrived (paraphrasing here). They put people into situation where they can predict how they'll react, then get the "highlights" to show footage that adhere's to the character's role.
Kate *should* go away, but won't any time soon.

Time and time again, Kate protests too much about how organized she is when clearly, she's not. You have to be pretty remiss to not pack ahead when taking little children deep sea fishing, for example. I'd pack, in the least, crackers, ginger ale, dramamine or the like, towels and extra clothes....and I just have 3 dogs, let along kids! I wanted to address a comment made at a fan site that Sarah must have left the younger kids (Trip and Trig) with a nanny since they weren't there.

Sarah and Todd's parents are both very active in the family's life. Since Sarah's parents were on the camping trip, I'd wager the boys were left with Todd's parents and not a nanny. That's generally how families do things...real, loving families, which is what the Palin's seem to be.

Well, I didn't think it would be possible for people to actually try and defend her behavior but they are. They are truly dillusional. They are blaming the danger of bears attacking. A good point I read this morning is Kate spoke directly to the camera most of the time eliminating the chance it was all edited.

I also very much noticed that Sarah defended Kate when her dad said she was bitching. Do you know how easy it would have been for Sarah to say OMG I know what a raging bitch! Instead she says in that charming folksy way, if I were on the red carpet I'd act the same way. She defended her. What a CLASS ACT. Kate owes her, at the very least, a thank you card, for bending over backwards to try to make the trip succede and then for talking positively about her up until the end.

Her behaviour was boorish at best. I wonder if she might have been envious of the Palin extended family who were all having such a good time together. It just makes me wonder why these very important voices are not heard. I'm heartened to hear that efforts continue to rectify this travesty, or at least protect other children from fame-whore, greedy, self-absorbed parents in the future.
I've long thought that the very reason that they moved from their E-town house was not only for more space, but because Kate wanted complete isolation, especially from pesky neighbors who had long had her number (referring to a gentleman's blog who was a neighbor and said that Kate was roundly disliked for be anti-social).

I am in Canada, and Ms. Palin’s politics are, frankly, quite puzzling to me. However, having said that, she comes across as a very likable person on her show when shown with her family. I watched last night and was very touched by the way she and her husband interact with their children. The Palin’s trek up the mountain as a family team was lovely to see. Not a hostile word, no sarcasm, and only encouragement from the oldest to the youngest.

The Gosselin children beamed under the gentle wise guidance of Ms. Palin’s father, and it was wonderful to watch. Ms. Palin’s suggestion to the kids that they could be as loud as they wanted while in the wilderness was refreshing. Kate’s behaviour was childish and appalling. She made no effort to even try to enjoy the Palins’ hospitality. I believe Kate was cold and miserable, but I think what made her most uncomfortable was seeing the easy rapport the Palins had with her children and their own. Who is the ‘jellus h8ter’, now Kate?

IMO, similar to JR Ewing, TLC is just setting up Kate to be the woman (instead of man) that America loves to hate. Difference is that JR Ewing was a character and people loved to hate the character not the actual actor. At the end of the day, he walked away from JR. Kate isn't a character/actress and at the end of the day she remains the same. She has a bitter and lonely life ahead of her.

Have you noticed how Kate never connects with other people? She talks at them, not to them. for instance, when she was in the van with Sarah Palin on the way to the bear survival class, she appeared emotionally disconnected and distant, as if she knew she had to say something in response to Sarah's comments but would clearly rather not be bothered.

lovetoread62 said...

I haven't seen K+8 since Jon was on, but I love to watch Sarah's show, so seeing Kate in all her glory was a shock to my system. First of all, when the kids got out of the van to go into Sarah's house, they all looked shell shocked, like they had just been yelled at. Second, it couldn't have been raining that much at the camp since the campfire was going strong. If the camera had not been on Kate, but had ignored her, then she would have come out from under the tent! I'm surprised she didn't "accidentally" fall into the creek so that she would have to be rescued! She was mad because she wasn't the center of attention. I think it was a lot worse then what we saw, since Todd left the campsite to go fishing. It cracked me up when Kate said, at the target shooting, that she would do anything to protect her kids. But at the campsite, she didn't care enough to make sure they didn't get too near the fire or fall into the creek! The comment that the kids who wanted to stay were now Palins, not Gosselins was psychological abuse. We've seen a pattern of her threatening to leave them behind. The look on Piper's face, when Sarah asked her if she wanted to walk the Gosselins back to the plane, was priceless! Plus the "I like rain" response to Kate's bitching.

CJ said...

To all that are singing Sarah's praises, she might well be more gracious and a better mother than Kate... but remember Sarah was being paid One Million Dollars to fulfill her contract for this show. Sarah is media savvy enough to know how to perform for a taped show (scripted reality show) and come out looking like the top dog. There is no way Kate was going to kowtow to Sarah. Kate does not play second fiddle, Kate is the Star, doncha know!

It's just too bad schmoopy couldn't muster enough of her 'can-do' attitude to show her kids another side of life rather than the five star hotels and trips to disneyland she thinks it's all about. Instead she threw the same rotten spoiled tantrum she did when she pushed Tony over the edge on DWTS. The woman is a vile, VILE creature. They didn't need any guns because I don't think even the bears or wolves would want a piece of her. Todd had the right idea by distancing himself from her... "you're smarter than you look". LMAO!! It looked like they all breathed a huge sigh of relief when she left camp. I can't imagine what working around her would be like, leave alone what kind of living hell it would be to have to live with her. Unless they wrap her up in a strait jacket and haul her off to an institution, those kids are doomed.

This isn't a political blog. It's about the Gosselin's and it just so happens Sarah Palin/TLC invited them to join her family camping (originally reported to be a Kate Plus 8 episode also). I don't think we're basing our opinion on Sarah from the campaign trail, but rather from the behavior we've seen on her show on TLC where she's been a classy, respectful, "trying to make the best of a bad situation" type person. I suggest you watch Palin's Alaska without your colored glasses and see it without politics shading your opinion. She didn't have to make excuses for Kate's disgusting behavior, but she did. She didn't have to engage the Gosselin children while their mother was pouting under the canopy, but she did.

-------------------

I really don't care to read comments from a campaign staff because it has nothing to do with the discussion here. Nobody here is worshipping Palin's politics. We're not talking about her on the campaign trail, or her decision to run or not to run in the next election. What is at issue here is Palin, her husband and her children, and family values, sense of humor, and graciousness at being a good host. We're talking about how she presents herself in the TLC series, not when she's being briefed on a political speech.

Politics and parenting are two separate entities. I'd take anyone that a political campaign staff says with a grain of salt. There are always the disgruntled ones who will say anything at any time for their own personal agendas. Comments such as that don't hold any water. You can dish up "dirt" on anyone, depending on who is doing the dishing and his/her motives. You believe what you want to believe.

What we have seen on the shows is not a game of he said/she said. It's on film, and we are able to judge for ourselves, and either like her, or dislike her.

Boy, the people that support Kate (family & sheeples) must be eating their livers out today...

A little sidenote:
Oprah Winfrey and Gail went on a camping trip (for one of the Oprah shows), and let me tell you, both ladies had no makeup on, hair was simple (I think hidden under a cap), no handler or bodyguard, and were friendly, kind, and gracious with the other campers. Compare that to Kate- who showed up with full on makeup, and hair, handler "Steve", and was whiney, detached, and critical. She was invited to camp with a Vice Presidential candidate for pete's sake- what a freakin' honor that is. And she just blew it. Either Kate is messed up stupid, or she is just too self absorbed.

The Gosselin family should all get together, and sue her ass for destroying the Gosselin family name.

Kate is just a sh*tbag. It's no surprise that she is alone, and will always be alone. I just feel bad for her kids.

I go and have a great time with the kids, and I have a great time seeing my daughter enjoy herself and have an experience that I wouldn't be very likely to provide for her of my own initiative (see note above RE hate camping...) My daughter has no earthly idea that I don't like camping because I would never want her to feel conflicted or guilty about me going on a scout outing with her. It's called parenting, and putting the well-being of your children above your own desires. Seeing her enjoy herself and sharing those memories with her are so much more important than my physical comfort!

I watched it in on youtube and it pissed me off. Sarah's dad was right, Kate was horrible from the moment she arrived. I love how at one moment the kids were like why are you just standing over here? They wanted her to play with them, engage them, care about what them instead of being a scowling bitch.

Who I feel the worse for is Piper, she was so excited to spend time with the kids and she looked pissed when Kate made them leave. I mean the fact she wouldn't even see them to the plane.

The other part was how Kate basically told the kids she was abandoning them for disagreeing with her by saying they were no longer Gosselins if they wanted to stay.
The looks on their faces. What mother tells their kids that? Oh wait, someone who isn't a mother.

Someone made the comment that it's possible that Kate is a sociopath and IMO she may well be. But don't sociopaths sometimes snap? I mean really, really snap to the point of hurting or killing people? My God, I've thought about those children all day. I shudder when I think about what's going to finally have to happen to get these poor kids away from this psycho. It was entirely evident to me after watching the show last night that there has been some sort of change in these kids. At times they looked and acted completely emotionless. When I think about what goes on in that nuthouse they live in with Kate, I almost break out in a cold sweat. There are people (Steve especially) that know what goes on behind closed doors. My question is why aren't they talking? Maybe my imagination is running wild and things aren't that bad. Maybe Kate stays locked in her room 24/7 and the kids never have to see her. I can always hope anyway.

I remember reading that somewhere I think! How down to earth is Oprah & she has millions of dollars! (& is super generous!) Um, Kate, you listening? You are NOT above camping, or being gracious, or thankful to your hostess, even though she is more popular than you may be at the moment. Jealous much? Just because Palin is TLC's new baby, does not mean you should act like a self-serving twit in front of your kids. Gawd! I can't believe what she is teaching those kids of hers. If this doesn't bury Kate, I don't know what will. She thinks she is above it all; the rumors, gossip, media scrutiny. If ANYONE else did this to Sarah Palin, they would be skewered. Kate will too.

Can you imagine if say, Jennifer Garner went on Martha Stewart's show & started acting like a total bitch? Being rude & ignorant? What would happen? Of course Jennifer Garner is in a different class than Kate, but still, rude is rude. Another ex; Let's say Lauren Conrad went on Donald Trumps show & was acting like a diva, like a self-entitled wench. Again, I think more people may know LC, but she'd be skewered. Kate's done. This was the spike in her coffin. (sorry for the rant) :)

I wonder if Kate really lost it because she was cold and wet or because the kids were having fun. Seriously, Kate has had meltdowns in the past when the kids are enjoying an activity she has no control over- pumpkin carving, Crayola Factory.... Seeing her children have fun and want to learn and participate seems to bring out such anger and resentment.

I am not an outdoor girl either. I am about as girly as they come and had my future daughter's names all picked out. However, God chose to bless me with 3 boys instead. Sooo... I can proudly say I can put the pads and cups in two pairs of football pants in 3 minutes, I have stood in frigid downpours and blistering heat cheering and holding up lap signs while my sons raced motocross, I can control a dugout full of fidgety baseball players with "the look" while keeping the stat book, I learned about Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon cards when my sons were interested in them so they wouldn't get burnt trading them and I'm not half bad with a paintball gun either ! :) When you make the choice to bring children into this world you put yourself on the back burner and make your children the priority during the short time we have to raise them. Kate never got this memo, she seems to have little tolerance for them and acts more like a dictator than a parent. It has been said many times, if this is what we see on TV, what in God's name must go on in that home off camera?

So what do you think Kate did with the kids once she got back to the lodge? They were having fun camping, so did she replace it with another fun activity or was Kate in her suite and the kids were "not allowed in under penalty of severeness" and were off with the nanny?

They were with the nanny, that's for sure! Kate reportedly disappeared for 2 days with Steve after leaving the park. One of the tups was overheard asking where Mommy was and when would she be back.

At GWOP, someone commented: as soon as she got off the plane, she said, "Wouldn't a lodge be a lot better than this" as Sarah was smiling and greeting the kids. Sarah's dad put his hand up to Kate to shut her up.

Anyone else catch this when it happened?

I saw and hear it and it definitely happened except that I thought it was directed at Sarah's dad and not Sarah - but she did say it!

My husband and I just got back from a weekend on the seacoast. While there, there was a Toys for Tots toy drive in the parking lot at one of the local malls in the area. Assisting the Marines who were there for the toys were a bunch of volunteers from the Pease Troop Greeters. These folks greet military flights going to and coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan. They also do a lot in the local community assisting verterans and programs like Toys fro Tots.

Anyway, if you have the chance to check out their website (Peasegreeters.org) and see the photos from yesterday (Sunday), you'll see what it was like as far as the weather goes. We were out early and it was freezing rain. Yet if you look at the pictures, these folks were huddled under a tarp (like the one Katie was under in Alaska)but they had smiles on their faces. They were having a ball, despite the inclemment weather. And these folks VOLUNTEERED to do this, they were not paid!

Heaven forbid if Khate were to ever do anything voluntarily; especially if it were for charity. Her behavior on last night's show was completely horrifying! My husband, who happens to think highly of Sarah Palin, was completely aghast at Kate's behavior (this was his first exposure to the shrew). It was kind of cute, he sat there watching the show with his mouth wide open LOL.

I seriously think, the best thing for Kate would be to lose everything she has (the house, the mani/pedis, the expensive hair appts, and most importantly custody of the children). I don't think it will make her a better person, but her toxicity might be taken down a notch or two.

And yes, I too found it shocking and disheartening that the kids appeared to be having a ball and Kate didn't like it so she ended the trip.

Thanks for the link, Denise. Kate was even rude to the man (pilot?) before they got into the little airplane. He asked if adults were getting on and she said "Hellooooo, were here" in a condescending manner. She hadn't even reached the dreaded campground yet and already she was miserable. What a horrible person.

Well, I see the ratings for Palin's Alaska went from 2.78 to 3.1. That's an 11% increase. Personally, I don't think that makes such a big difference when you consider the fact that the PR machine has been promoting this episode for the last 2 weeks. Every entertainment show, website, comcast has had an article! I see it as 11% more people will now loathe Khate too! 3.1 million is a far cry from Palin's debut show! C'mon TLC- please let this be the end of Khate! (Of course Khate will see it as she is the reason the ratings went up for Palin from the week before because as she said on DWTS, she knows she brings in the ratings!) Ya'll know - I loathe this "woman" and her entire brand!

It's called a CA. If they talk, she'd take them for everything they're worth.

I watched 5 minutes of it on youtube. It was all I could stomach. I have one question and one statement.

Question: Who supplied all that matchy-matchy gear the Gosselins were wearing? LL Bean, Lands End? Does anyone know? I'm already boycotting LL Bean for the slutty, back-to-school backpack horror show. I would hate to have to boycott Lands End also.

Statement: When Kate left and two seconds later Sarah mentioned that the sky cleared...if that was just editing, brilliant job. If it really happened that way, good job, Heavenly Father.
