Kate's NYC trip with Steve

After appearing on the Today Show this morning to tell Meredith all about her children's private and personal school issues and to further throw Jon under the bus (INF is now reporting he has obtained employment), Kate and Steve headed to the American Girl store.

Meanwhile, Jon was apparently putting in a day's honest labor according to the celebrity cafe website. Congrats and good on you Jon, if it's true.

Hmmm...what will the sheeple complain about now? And maybe that's why Kate felt the need to go on Today (aside from just wanting an excuse to go to New York for a mini vacation to get her hair done and to shop) - because complaining that Jon never apologized to her (or probably, he made the attempt and she ignored him) is about all she has left to complain about. When all is said and done, he's the one pushing for the kids to be taken off television and allowed to live normal lives.

kate's scary said...

Jon has apologized a hundred times. (Jon was continually apologizing to Kate throughout their marriage - it's Kate who can't admit she's ever been wrong and can't apologize.) I remember him taking roses to one of their hearings. Kate wouldn't accept them, and I wouldn't be surprised if Kate stuck her fingers in her hears and went "Lalalalalala" when he DID apologize to her.

Laurie said...

Although John has not yet apologized to her personally (per kate this morning) she said: "...I strangely and ironically have forgiven him". Her words in quotes not mine. WTH? Does this woman even have a grasp of the English language? I sometimes wonder.

Ummm.. I think the "behavior things" are called behavior problems. Say it Kate, the kids have problems, not things.

mama mia said...

Jon said sorry, he said "I am sorry I ever let you talk me into putting our kids on tv", "I am sorry I fell for all your lies", "I am sorry our kids have to live with you", "I am sorry for how you have screwed them up with your warped sense of right and wrong" and "I am signed that release form that forbids me from exposing you to the world".

Jon said he apologized. Kate says he hasn't. Why should we believe Kate over Jon, or Jon over Kate?

One of them is lying, but they can't both be telling the truth.

I think it's really shitty to make all these accusations knowing Jon won't respond. Kate KNOWS Jon won't put himself on Today tomorrow to tell his side because Jon doesn't do that crap anymore. So basically she can say whatever she wants to about him knowing he will probably respond with silence. It's so dysfunctional.

It takes two to divorce. It takes two to argue. There are two sides to every story.

How nice for Cara and Mady! They enjoy American Girl so much. Will probably be very happy with gifts from there.

And Jon won't respond on Today tomorrow because they don't ask him to be on. Isn't he under some kind of media lockdown due to going against his contract?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Exactly my point. Jon cannot and will not respond--because Today won't ask him, because there could be a gag order, because he doesn't do that anymore, and so on. There is no proof Jon is under any kind of gag order anymore.

Why is it that Today will ask the Republican candidate AND the Democrat candidate to come on, but in this situaiton, just Kate? Shitty journalism.

Gosselin8ComeFirst said...

Prior to the divorce, Jon clearly said that he wanted the filming to stop, on film. Kate said something to the effect that she wanted to continue filming, and it would need to be discussed further "ironed out." We all know what that means. A short while later, they were splitting up, after she got her vow renewal wedding in Hawaii filmed, and Kate promised the kids they would be together forever. Who needs to apologize to who? Kate will neve apologize to Jon or anyone else for her twisted choices.

Anonymous said...

Very shitty journalism, I agree.

Exactly - she's a one person, one view circus. And the Today Show has contributed to this media 'ho's attention grabbing needs. I read parts of the interview, her language, her grammar, her syntax are amazingly awful, just awful. And her makeup artist is doing her no favors today.

Nice to see purse boy has a new job as umbrella boy. American Girl Store? If TLC is not filming, then does that mean Kate has to spend her own money there? - that merchandise is pretty damn expensive.

Did Kate personally apologize to Jon or is she counting the times she did so in her book (?) or on tv?

Jon was so eloquent in his tweet that I would assume his apology to Kate would be in a letter (since I doubt the two of them can be civil in the same room together). Maybe she has yet to open that letter...for her, ignorance is bliss. Or, she's so caught-up in herself, that she wasn't even listening when Jon did personally apologize to her.

I remember back in the 80's David Bowie's ex-wife making the talkshow circuit to spill the beans about finding him in bed with Mick Jagger. They had made her sign an agreement not to talk about it for 10 years. Once the 10 years were up, off to the talkshows she went. The problem was, by then, nobody cared. I can see people associated with Kate coming forward after their confidentiality agreements expire, but will anyone still care?

Kate is clearly enjoying all this attention, at the expense of her own children - selling out their privacy regarding school issues to get back in the tv spotlight.

It's sad she enjoys the limelight more than the company/love of her own children...it's evident in her beaming smile, which she rarely displays when she's with her own kids.

She's probably planning the next Kate Plus 8 special/episode. The sextuplet girls first visit to American Girl to pick-up their first doll, just like Cara and Mady at their age, but with all the holiday charm of Christmas. Hence, the catalog but no shopping bags filled with gifts.

Regarding Jon having a job: I know in my state of CA my husnand is a custodial father who makes about 4 times what his ex wife, the non custodial mother makes. And even though my husband has custody of the kids, based solely on the formula that CA uses, my husband pays his ex wife child support, even though she has the kids 25% of the time, 2 weekends per month and half of the summer.

Shouldn't child support be based on income and time share in PA as it is in CA... and if Jon is working a typical job with a normal america working class wage, not a TV star wage, if he has some visitation, as we know he does, then should Kate not pay Jon child support, so that, as our state law says, BOTH parents are equipped to provide the same caliber of lifestyle for the children and one parent is not so far above the other parent (ie a 1 million dollar plus estate vs a 1 bedroom apartment)?

Our family law code specifically says: "4053. In implementing the statewide uniform guideline, the courts shall adhere to the following principles:
f) Children should share in the standard of living of both parents. Child support may therefore appropriately improve the standard of living of the custodial household to improve the lives of the children."

Just wondering if anyone else has thought about or wondered about this, or if my state is so different than PA...?

Do we know that they still do enjoy them? Maybe they do, but just because they filmed a birthday party there doesn't mean that they enjoy American Girl dolls so much. Kids' interests change over time, and unless someone close to the situation is there with them, seeing them play with their dolls, it's not known that their fascination with the dolls still holds true.
Maybe it's the little ones who are now "into" American Girl dolls.

Something's really bothering me here: WHAT WOULD JON BE APOLOGIZING FOR, EXACTLY?

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I watched that show before they were divorced. Not a single episode went by that Jon wasn't harrassed, verbally abused, belittled, badgered, bossed around, and humiliated, and if that was the stuff they aired on TV, you can only imagine what it must have been like when the cameras were gone!

Seems like it would be Kate who would owe him an apology for the shitty way she continually emasculated and abused him in front of the kids!

What about the divorce itself? It's an EASILY provable fact that SHE left HIM. SHE LEFT HIM. He didn't run out on a poor, struggling mother of eight. She decided it was over. Just as with everything else, he didn't have any choice in that, either.

It's long been common knowledge that he was freaking bullied into having eight freaking kids to begin with!

She said way back in the beginning if anyone wanted out of the show, Jon OR the kids OR her, then that was a deal-breaker and the show would end.

Jon wanted out of the show. Too fucking bad, Jon! She didn't mean that, you sucka! The show must go on, with or without you, momma likes that CASH.

Seems like she should apologize for lying to him and the kids about the show, treating him like shit for a decade, leaving him, then trash-talking him on national TV every freaking chance she gets.

Why in the bloody hell would he owe her an apology? Seriously, someone tell me, because I'd be fascinated to hear it.

It doesn't really matter what Kate said. She has lied so many times that, no one believes ANYTHING she says. She is a BIG, SAD JOKE.

Anyway, Jon can apologise from here to eternity, it's never going to be enough for Kate. I think the only way Kate is going to be happy is by having Jon tied to a whipping post.

The crazy thing is, as far as we have all seen, read and heard, Kate was misery incarnate most of the time they were married. Any human being would not put up with a person like her. Did she expect Jon to shut up and take it, and take it? That Jon was going to continue being subservient to her? Continue being criticized, berated, and disrespected by Kate? Criticized for breathing too loud, etc... etc.... And then, after the rotten way she treated him, she still demands an apology from Jon? She's lucky Jon didn't smother her in her sleep with a pillow.

Kate is a typical narcissist, always right, and anyone that disagrees with her, must be punished. Well, phooey to that. Kate would make a great "Queen of Hearts" from Alice in Wonderland. Off with their heads!!!

This is for Kate: Anyway you word it- your kids are not in school. Expelled, kicked out, and pulled out- it's all the same. Either way you put it, the school said that they could not meet her kids needs, so GET OUT. Same, same, same.
If resorting to semantics makes your delusional head feel better... whatever is clever.

Go away Kate- and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out...

What could Jon do to make an apology enough for Kate? It would have to be an individual confession of every one of his "transgressions" toward her since they first met.

- I'm sorry I didn't use a coupon.
- I'm sorry I asked you when you were going to get the stick out
- I'm sorry I didn't tell you the Korean dessert had to go in the freezer (although it said so on the package)
- I'm sorry I didn't know it was inconvenient to your hair appointment that I needed the big blue van to pack for our trip to Disney.
- I'm sorry I can't pronounce words and make you smush my face so I can enunciate properly.
- I'm sorry I said something about "seasons".
- I'm sorry I needed to be in the kitchen the same time you wanted to make Ol' Grandma Soup.
- I'm sorry I didn't get all the bunk beds taken down fast enough when you had the carpet changed, and didn't get them back up fast enough when you wanted to get the room completed. Ditto the organizing furniture in the family room downstairs.
- I'm sorry I upset you Toys R Us when I was keeping the kids occupied while you shopped, but I wasn't doing it when and where you wanted.
I'm really sorry I caused you to have to yell
HELLLLLLOOOOOO across the store.

You get the drift. One long string of apologies
so Kate would know she was in the right and Jon was in the wrong. About everything.

How many possible times can she use the word 'excel' when referring to her children? How can Meredith allow this woman to 'put the facts straight'? In this country I thought both sides were permitted the opportunity to 'get the facts straight'. Not so when Today and People are concerned, and obviously not so in PA where the judge is bought and paid for. This is a travesty that Jon is not allowed to speak for himself or his children but Kate gets to call him (did you catch her rolling her eyes) and tell him what the schedule would be. In other words, chop, chop, get in line Jon, I'm still in control. Utter BS.

A4Eliz said...

She is just terrible, I don't how the kids school could deal with her. If children are "stressed" at school then school needs to be less stressful for them. Caring parents work with a school to make that happen, if the school isn't right they find another school... The worst thing they can do is take the kids out of school. A and C need to learn to stand in line, raise their hands, take turns... all stuff kids learn in preschool and kindergarten.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

If you think about it this is really classic Kate. She wants "the best" or what she thinks is "the best" and doesn't care whether that's best for her children.

She picks the best private school around, even though her children have to take a long bus ride there and back (and sometimes after all that come home to film), no matter that some of them may not have been prepared for it (too busy filming all summer), no matter now two of them can't even go there anymore. She just wants to be able to show of that her kids go to X school instead of slumming it at public schools or even the less prestegious private schools.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

California uses Dissomaster which is an amazing computer program that pumps out a fair (usually) child support order based on a multitude of mostly financial factors. Although absent gross disparities in income, the more time you spend with the kids the less you usually pay. I consider CA very progressive. I'm surprised dissomater doesn't have a Wikipedia page that I can find.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

In theory, Dissomaster is supposed to guard against one parent getting screwed and the other making out like a bandit just because they happened to have a trickier attorney, public opinion was on their side, etc., factors that may have come into play for the Jon.

_____________________

When she enrolled the twins in the school, she was still living in E-Town, not far away from the school. I think at that time the twins were good candidates for the school and they were doing quite well there. If I had the choice between sending them there and to the public school in that area, there would have been no question as to where I would have sent them. Her only other choices were private religious schools. While they are okay (just okay), I'm not so sure they would have been the best schools for the twins. The area is sadly lacking in secular private schools. Most of the schools are Amish, Mennonite or parochial. There really aren't any "less prestigious" private schools.

When they moved, rather than taking the twins out of the school where they were doing so well, uprooting them to send them to a public school in their area, they decided to send them all to the same school. I can't say that I blame her. She's not the only one who sends her kids there from the Reading area. Kids are transported to the school from outlying counties.

If they were thinking at all about the kids and the long bus ride and wanted to send all of them to the same school, she should have stayed where she was in E-town, or looked for a house in the area that would have been closer to the school.

It's a shame Kate didn't use the NYC trip to "homeschool" A & C about the joy if Christmas/Hannukah. She could have taken them to see the tree and educated them about the history of the Christmas tree. Yesterday was also the first day of Hannukah, she could have explained to them about people who celebrated differently than they do.

Afterwards, she could have taken them to a street vendor and let thanking something out for each of their brothers and sisters (and maybe followed up with a lesson about "giving unto others" on the way home.

Instead, she and her boyfriend visited their fav romantic getaway place, and Kate got a catalog to rake home to the girls so they can preselect the dolls they will be getting during the filming of their Christmas Special.

So sad.

Let ME set the record straight since Kate is allowed to. I do not tell people here whether to watch or not watch. I allow comments that ask people not to watch, but I personally have never and will never tell people what to do. If you can find a comment where I ever told anyone not to watch, please prove me wrong. Anyone is free to watch, anyone is free to not watch, and I've said this many times.

Secondly, I do not tell anyone to read my recap either, I simply post it. If you want to read it, great. If you don't, it's a free country. If you read it and have questions, anyone is free to post a comment or go watch the show themselves.

There is nothing that can be said to defend what Kate is doing anymore--she is a complete basket case. So they have to deflect, deflect, deflect and attack me and others speaking out about her crap.

Probably nothing will come of it but they just mentioned Kate at the beginning of The View.

Administrator said... Why would it be "strange" to forgive someone after having a falling out? This is what Kate's religion preaches, forgiveness.

Oh right because Kate estranges everyone who says or does something against the mission of Kate and never speaks to them again. Has she ever had to forgive someone when cutting them off is much easier?

She is also supposed to tell the truth be kind, love her neighbor as herself which means anyone including Jon. Teach her kids the faith she was taught. Take responsibility all the things that a christian is supposed to be Kate is not.

Hey, Laura D, the gist is they think she is frickin nuts (actual words in denial, has not forgiven Jon, is very angry, can't actually say the word expelled, not helping her kids and a whole bunch of other stuff that we've been saying forever - esp. on 'z')

"California uses Dissomaster which is an amazing computer program that pumps out a fair (usually) child support order based on a multitude of mostly financial factors"

Or, like two adults with your kids TRULY in mind, you both go to a mediator and figure out what would be best for the family. We went the mediator route at the suggestion of my (ex) wife and it was really a great experience, all things considered. Tears are shed on both sides but you realize that you both really have the kids and each others best interests at heart.

Hiding behind lawyers and speaking through them only drives you farther apart and makes the situation more adversarial. Which is also proof that kHate is a clueless, evil with with only HER OWN interests in mind. Every time she opens that fake mouth of horse teeth she takes a shot at Jon, the kids father. No matter how she feels about him those kids have no chance until she starts showing him respect - FOR THE KIDS sake.

As for the 'bodyguard' - first off all that body is made of plastic and fillers - why protect it? [zing]

Seriously, if he is still presented as 'the bodyguard' why would he have BOTH hands tied up with purses, bags and umbrellas? Not a very effective bodyguard if the sh*t goes down...

I think Jon has signed a binding confidentiality agreement that prevents him to say anything deragatory or reveal anything personal about Kate. I think he did this around the Hailey time, and I think he did it in exchange for money. I also think he still gets his check from TLC. I think he signed over his permission in lieu of money when in comes to the kids filming. I think these court hearings are beating a dead horse. He can re petion the court all he wants.

I think Jon is full of it.

That Today Show interview was more pathetic than the "purse full of bills" fiasco. I have given up on Meredith V. as anything other than a "game show host." Is nothing about their life sacred and quiet at the Gosselin spread? "My kids are back." What is that supposed to mean? Who besides Kate even says that? Delusional to the max. The Star doesn't hold her own umbrella, you know. Kate G. is desperate to stay on tv and continue her fat lifestyle and of course serve her 8 kids on a "golden platter."

So much is recorded in episodes about this family that she is unable to keep her story/lies straight. Good for Jon for getting the heck away from her. No, I am not jealous, just sick to death of this poor excuse of a mother. No parent who loves their child "shoves them under the bus" just to get attention. Some things need to remain private.

Michelle, did you look at the pictures following the American Girl photo op? I saw her waiting at the curb for whoever and they had a real closeup of her scowling at the camera. Definitely dead eyes. It must be awful when she turns those eyes on her children. Poor babies.

Absolutely. What she is doing is egging him on, hoping he will refute what she has said so that she can get back on television once again to "set the record straight." She just wants a debate. It gives her an excuse to keep throwing him under the proverbial bus.

Jon knows exactly what he is doing, and I hope he keeps doing it. She's only making herself look bad, and I do think, with the exception of the die-hard Sheeple, many people are seeing the "real" Kate.

I'm sorry, but WTF????? said...

I’m sorry, but I'm confused. What exactly does Jon need to apologize for? Wasn't it Kate who told him that (a) the marriage was over -- long before he started "dating around," and (b) he could "date" so long as he kept the sham of the show going??? Sure, she has since spun it to be that she was the "woman scorned," a victim of Jon's adultery -- but, it seems that Jon's seemingly immature and erratic behavior was spurred by Kate's unofficial end of the marriage, and her condoning that he do whatever he want in exchange for pretending that they were all still a happy family (after all, the show must go on!). Who knows, if the media hadn’t found him out, he and Kate might still be filming “Jon & Kate + 8.” So, again, what exactly does Jon need to apologize to Kate for? If anything, he owes the kids an apology for acting like a jack-ass on the world stage. Whether his behavior was approved by Kate or not, he still looked like a tool, and was an embarrassment to the kids. As to Kate, not so much. If anything, *she* needs to apologize to Jon and the kids for putting her greed and fame-whoring above their family, and for sacrificing their stability and future as a family for the sake of "her show."

And I agree with all who have posted that Jon's best defense is a good "NO COMMENT." Nothing could infuriate a narcissist more than being ignored. I hope he stays strong and continues to ignore her increasingly desperate attempts to throw him under the bus in an effort to make herself look good. Clearly the tide is beginning to turn (FINALLY!), and her worn out tactic is losing its effectiveness in the mainstream media.

Someone "in the know" here said that he's not a bodyguard. He is there to protect Kate from herself and from going off on others. He doesn't protect or guard the kids, either.
I'd love to see his paycheck for babysitting Kate...

************************************************

How nice for Cara and Mady! They enjoy American Girl so much. Will probably be very happy with gifts from there.

*******************

Do we know that they still do enjoy them? Maybe they do, but just because they filmed a birthday party there doesn't mean that they enjoy American Girl dolls so much. Kids' interests change over time, and unless someone close to the situation is there with them, seeing them play with their dolls, it's not known that their fascination with the dolls still holds true.
Maybe it's the little ones who are now "into" American Girl dolls.
