Tony filled in for Louis after he got food poisoning

And apparently Niecy told him: "Welcome to it — you’re going to have a partner who smiles, who laughs, and who admits she’s happy to be away from her children. Get ready! We’re going to have a good time!"

Niecy!

That's nice. Maybe Tony will be able to salvage SOMETHING from this season.

Carolina Gal said...

Niecy didn't joke w/Tony for no good reason. Of course Kate was miserable to be around. I bet the folks at DWTS were wondering, who is this woman/nobody who is acting like a diva?

LifeinOH said...

Tell it, Niecy. And you do not have to say jk after.

Elmer said...

THAT is why they couldn't show clips of Tony and Khate having fun while rehearsing. ...THERE WASN'T ANY!

Carol said...

Ha! I love her! All my online and text votes go to Niecy. I'm worried about tonight---I know Evan, Nicole and Erin aren't going anywhere, so it's going to be either Pam, Chad or Niecy and I don't want ANY of them to go! They're all working so hard!

By the way, I've SO loved being able to enjoy that show again without Miss Glum Glum all over it, messing it up.

I agree, DWTS is a much better show with Kate gone. It is fun again, and each dancer is improving. Tv without Kate is must see tv.

I have a hard time believing that Kate ROFL with Tony during some of their practices, because I watched J&K+8 for most seasons, and she is too controlling to allow even herself to let go like that...kids are the number 1 type of people who do or say things so funny, that it makes me want to ROFL.. of course, sometimes I have to go hide in my room to do it!!!lol..and she has 8 of them, so why do we not ever see her laughing hard with her kids...unless of course, TLC is branding her as a narcissistic, and would never ever show any of that stuff... but ya think after 5 seasons, we would see evidence of it SOMEWHERE!!!

fade2black said...

While Tony's star has certainly lost some luster for me after he went over to the dark side, I did enjoy watching Chad respectfully listen and learn from him last night.

From Dancing to Running
05/04/2010

[From the TLC Editors: Click here for more thoughts from Kate.]

I've hung up my dancing shoes ...

The day has come ... my dance shoes (all six dirty well-used pairs of them ) have begun collecting dust. In the haste of everything, I had left them in the basement on a shelf without another thought.

A few days ago, I was playing dress up with the kids (I was forced to judge the contest in a dancing manner. Unlike judges who shall remain nameless, each costumed child received an exuberant “TEN!!!” from the mother judge!), and happened to look over. My eyes landed on my abandoned dance shoes and a wave of sadness mixed with a longing came over me.

Ohhhh suddenly I missed EVERYTHING about dancing -- not only the friends I have made and stay in touch with almost daily, but also learning the steps and even the fear of sudden death that the dance floor caused me! Gulp! Swallow the nostalgia ... Okay, all better ...

All said and done, and having had a chance to reintegrate back into home life and do a bit of reflecting, I am extremely happy to have time to think an entire thought. I have resumed running daily and have smiled as I've reunited with an “old” friend, my treadmill. (Sad, I realize, but I LOVE running, and due to time constraints took a break during the two months of dance rehearsal.) As always, I feel right where I belong as I once again “run” the daily routine for and with the kids …

Without a doubt, Dancing with the Stars was a life-changing experience. I learned many valuable lessons and many things about myself. I had the opportunity to meet an amazing group of people -- many of whom I'll remain friends with long beyond our days of dance. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything!

With all of that said, I think there better be one more dance left in me: Get ready for the DWTS finale on May 24, 25!!! I'll be there...

C'mon, I know you missed my unique dance style!

~Kate

Pure Kate Krap.
It's obvious she did not write this.
Too many big words....
Not enough exclamation points.
Kate playing dress up with the kids?
Puh-leeze.

IDModo said...

Isn't May 25 the date of the custody hearing? I hadn't heard that it was cancelled. Is Kate going to blow it off to be on DWTS?

Carol said...

Again, someone else wrote that and they aren't even trying to MAKE it sound like her.

She always sounds defensive and accusatory. She asks and answers her own questions. She stays superficial, because she's superficial and there's nothing beneath the surface. Everything she writes, thinks, and says is about her. Also, she has no skill in writing just as she has no skill in dancing or being a human being.

So yeah, that's more of the TLC image re-adjustment effort. She said something about running on the treadmill again and then a TLC writer made up the rest.

HollyMo said...

Holy Crow!
What complete and utter batshit!
I read the comments on Kart`s blog last night, and obviously TLC did too, since they had to respond to those asking why Kart has made NO mention of DWTS since being booted.
The whole thing reeks.

PatK said...

Sounds like it was just a way to work in the "reminder" that Kate will be back on DWTS for the finale. You know, for those sheeple who stopped watching after she was booted.

I did laugh at the "unique dancing style" comment, though.

Kelly said...

Well, Neicy stays another week and Pamela is sent packing. Tom Bergeron, with his dry as saw dust humor that could make cows fall over in a coma said "Pamela Anderson, Getting a Standing O here".......

Pehaps if Kate had one of those O's, she may have loosened up a lot. Glad she's gone. Now we're really getting down to the competition.

Kelly said...

She's always "Doing it for the kids"
Jon's always "Doing it for the kids"

Problem is, the KIDS, don't get any of the benefit from "Their DOING IT".

Everytime you hear her say or read her saying she is "DOING IT FOR THE KIDS", just substitute the word "FOR" a make it "TO"

She and Jon have been DOING IT TO THE KIDS FOR 10 years now. Kate playing dress up with the kids is a laughable and as possible as a snowstorm in August.

How about keeping the kids off of television, throwing the camera guys, boom guys, script guys, makeup guys and all the other TLC guys off the property "FOR THE KIDS".

She is a bigger LIAR than Bhagdad Bob.

So, how much do you all want to bet that Tony and his wife and kids will be having a "play date" with Khate and the 8 on an upcoming episode of the new show:

(E! News, Mark Malkin's blog)

Kate Gosselin & Tony Dovolani's Playdate?

Reports may have claimed Tony Dovolani couldn't wait "to get rid of" Kate Gosselin, but the Dancing With the Stars pro-dancer says he and the reality TV mom have actually kept in touch.

"We talk a couple of times a week," Dovolani told us yesterday at George Lopez' Celebrity Golf Classic & 2010 Audi Quattro Cup at the Lakeside Golf Club in L.A.'s Toluca Lake. "Kate misses her Dancing With the Stars family. In fact, she misses dancing altogether. That, to me, is music to my ears."

Also music to the sexy 36-year-old's ears? The idea of bringing his family together with Ms. Gosselin's...

"Our kids will probably have some playdates soon," Dovolani said. "I absolutely think that would be fun. People love talking about kids, so we always have a good conversation that way."

It probably doesn't hurt that Dovolani's wife Lina is looking forward to hanging out with the mom of eight as well: "My wife is a big enthusiast of Kate's show, so, yeah, it'd definitely be great to get the families together."

Gosselin blogged today that she had a "wave of sadness" come over her recently when she took a look at her discarded dancing shoes in her basement.

"Without a doubt, Dancing With the Stars was a life-changing experience," she posted. "I learned many valuable lessons and many things about myself. I had the opportunity to meet an amazing group of people—many of whom I'll remain friends with long beyond our days of dance."

And yes, Ms. Kate will be back for the season finale. "I think there better be one more dance left in me," she wrote before ending with, "C'mon, I know you missed my unique dance style!"

More Tony news. Sorry, but I just can't stand Tony anymore. Either he is too stupid to see through Khate's B.S., or he's just as fake and phony as her and will say anything for a paycheck. Either way, he's a loser because he keeps defending Khate and she does not deserve it!

So, here's another story. It looks like Khate might be mad at Tony when she finds out about it, though because didn't she always say on DWTS that she never read the tabloids? It looks like Tony forgot about that and actually ratted her out, ha!

(From MTV news)

'Dancing With The Stars' Pro Says Tabloids Affected Kate Gosselin's Performance
Tony Dovolani says he and Gosselin read the tabs 'every single day' while on the show.

You would think after starring in a reality-TV show and going through a very public divorce, Kate Gosselin would be used to being a favorite tabloid target. But her former "Dancing With the Stars" partner, Tony Dovolani, said the media scrutiny still gets to her, and it even affected her performance before they were eliminated from the show last month.

"What surprised me the most about working with her was how much the tabloids attack her. That really shocked me the most," Dovolani told MTV News at the third-annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit the Ann and George Lopez Foundation. "There are a lot of untrue stories about her. We read them every single day. It became entertaining. We would laugh at how much stuff people could actually make up. At times, yes, it affected her dancing. When you have a big bull's-eye on your back as she does, of course it bothers you. It affected me, and it wasn't directed at me."

Dovolani is convinced that what kept them on the show so long — despite the harsh criticisms they received from judges — was that women connected with Gosselin's story.

"People loved her as a mom," he said. "Every mom struggles and trying to keep a balance. One kid is a lot, let alone eight."

Now that he and Kate are out, who does Dovolani think is the front-runner in the show? ESPN reporter Erin Andrews.

"I love my girl Erin. She's dancing with my best friend Maks," he said. "Her personality, her dancing ability, her beauty — everything makes her the front-runner. I think she's hilarious. I think she's fantastic and she's what this show is about."

Hi, SG
I'm still around off and on. The weather has been too nice to stay inside and my gardens have been calling me.

I was sad to see Pam go on DWTS last night but she was a class act and very gracious in her loss. I wish her much success and I'm guessing she only gained more fans from her appearance on the show.

Does anyone wonder why Kate is not out promoting her book more since it's struggling in sales? I'm not that familiar with the book sales world so maybe that window of opportunity has already passed.

Thanks for asking SG, and everyone have a good day! TTYL

Thanks, cherier1, for posting that article, swearing, but funny, and so true! I am glad that Tom introduced her as an actress and mother-take that kate! I am wondering how busy kate has been in her fancy kitchen(did not see what was wrong with the original), now that she is home, like she said was so happy to be getting back to , baking and cooking up a storm for her kids. yeah, right.

Gross... I happened to like Tony before and during his time of being partnered with Kate. At least when he was partnered with Kate he clearly showed he couldn't stand her with body language, exasperated eye rolls, removing of the body mic, etc.

HOWEVER now I am starting to not like Tony. It's one thing not to speak bad about Kate out of professionalism, but it's another to defend her and act like she's a great mother. And I hope to goodness that the meeting with TLC does not mean Tony is trying to appear on Kate's show, or get publicity off of her.

Tony actually has talent besides fathering multiples (yes, he too has twins, KATE...yet somehow he didn't create twins, sit back and demand free things) and I would hate to see him stoop to Kate's level of "FAME". Tony hang onto your professional integrity!!!!

my9cats, I read that too. I think it will be a very interesting read and most certainly it will be the topic of much debate. I hope Al is ready for the onslaught.

Susan, from what I've read on the DWTS boards, there were many viewers that came away with negative impressions of Kate's behavior. I'm not sure she did herself any favors (except for the money) by appearing on DWTS. It will be interesting to watch the final show and see everyone back together again.

We have to remember that Tony still has to dance with Kate again, so he has to keep up the facade at least until this season is over. Being partnered with Kate was probably a horrible experience for him - like teaching a moose to dance. Whatever he did to deserve it, I think he's done his penance.

Anonymous said...

Tony has a reputation to protect. She not only damaged herself but also Tony. She made him quit and say all those things he said during rehearsal packages. His next partner needs to be sure that he won't gossip or talk bad about her. I also don't think it was as bad as they made it seem. He's trying to show her positive side. What's wrong with that?

AuntieAnn said...

IATK,
I agree with you about Pam. I thought she left the stage with a lot of dignity - so unlike Kate with her blubbering poor-me act.

I also thought Erin looked angry about being in the bottom two.

I like Tony and I've heard he's a nice guy by all accounts, but he seems to be repeating what he's been told about Kate, that she represents all mothers and the juggling act they have to perform to be a great mom. Her PR people use that as her one big selling point when it comes to promoting Kate. Of course, we all know now that the juggling act comes with nannies, chefs, handlers, body guards, you name it. But aside from that, I take great offense at being told I'm represented by KG the mom. Right or wrong, she does NOT represent my values, and I shouldn't have to accept that comment as a fact that no one is allowed to dispute. So here I am disputing...lol. And that's the main problem I have with what Tony is saying. I'm guessing he's getting pretty tired of all the Kate questions at this point and would like to get back to discussing his own life and accomplishments.

Men: Kate Gosselin Should "Absolutely" Pay Jon Alimony
Wednesday – May 05, 2010 – 11:30am

Jon Gosselin has admitted he can't afford his $22,00-a-month court ordered child support, while his estranged wife Kate has signed on for two new TV shows and earned $10,000 to $50,000 per episode of Dancing With the Stars.

PHOTOS: What you can learn from Jon's biggest mistakes

Still, 70 percent of UsMagazine.com readers (in a joint poll with AskMen.com) think Jon shouldn't accept child support or alimony from his estranged wife. (They are due in court next month to discuss custody of their eight children, but Jon has said they will settle their differences "amicably.")

"Everyone is telling Kate to get a regular job, how about Jon... he needs to go to work, and not live off... kids' child support money. He's a bum," snipes Us commenter Shelby. Read more AskMen.com tips for Jon.

PHOTOS: Kate's grumpiest expressions

Adds Sylvia, "Kate doesn't owe you a thing, you are divorced."

But AskMen.com reader Richie says Jon should “absolutely” accept dough from his ex. Adds commenter Roman, "Are we living in times of EQUAL RIGHTS or are we not?"

Agrees Clubsta, "You didn’t see her complaining when he was ordered to give her 20 grand a month. I hope he takes her to the cleaners!"

PHOTOS: Look back on Kate's DWTS days

Us reader Suffragette is one of the first to turn the attention to the Gosselin kids.

"The show was horrible for the kids, and the marriage suffered because of the show," she says. "That being said, Kate is making money and Jon is not. If it were reversed, of course everyone would be saying that Jon should pay Kate. Hypocrites -- and proof that the women's rights movement is still in the dark ages."

Not MY character traits...Kate's nasty character...as you can see, my keyboard is fighting with me today. LOL

"It also appears that Kates new show will be short lived as well. People aren't into watching 7 and 10 year old kids playing with sticks, pushing balls around the yard, going to the dentist and all the product placements and freebies these over endulged spoiled brats are getting."

Bashing Kate is understandable. Calling Jon out on his choices absolutely may make sense. Putting down TLC for perpetuating the greed is justified. However, I think calling the kids names is unconscionable, even if some are of the opinion that they have inherited Kate's sense of entitlement. They are the victims in this, through no choice of their own.

This is what I just cannot understand. Jon & Kate know exactly what types of comments are made about them in the tabloids and blogs - do they think their kids will be immune to the nastier side of things just because they are kids? They know precisely what they are setting their kids up for. People are not going to give those kids a pass just because of their ages. It's even worse for the Gosselins because what you see is sold as being "reality" - it's not like an actor who can always claim he/she was playing a role.
