Nana Janet, 72, dies

Nana Janet, the faithful laundry-folder and babysitter who knew each of the sextuplets as individuals until she was mysteriously cut from the show, has died. She was 72.

Nana Janet was featured on several older episodes of Jon and Kate as the family helper, until she disappeared from the show never to be spoken of again, following to the black hole such staples as Aunt Jodi, Uncle Kevin, Beth, and others. Viewers have long speculated that the Gosselins did not want to pay anyone else on the show and that's why people kept disappearing, and Aunt Jodi at one point has cooroborated that rumor.

Nana Janet was also infamously poked fun of by Kate for riding a small pony at the children's third birthday party.

For those who insist Nana Janet moved to Tennessee, that is inaccurate. The episode featuring a helper who moved to Tennessee was identified as Miss Beverly.

According to Tracie, Nana Janet's real grandchild, Nana Janet continued to see the Gosselin kids on a weekly basis until 2 months ago when she became ill. She loved Kate and the children and continued seeing them weekly because of that love.

That information just came from someone posting a comment so it could be anyone. That being said I do hope that's true, although I have to wonder because they moved far away from her. She still drove that far just for laundry? The children have often been prevented from seeing their fair share of people special to them--Beth, Jodi and Kevin, the grandparents, various strings of nannies.

I don't know about the first comment. The only pictures of Nana Janet visiting the Konpound were during the summer during Jon's custody. They are on Gosselin.gosugary.com in the candid section, too many pictures for me to find it again.

Although I hope it's true since she was a loving influence on the children. It seems like a long way for elderly lady to travel each week.
