Kate absent from 200th episode of Dancing With the Stars

Tonight's Dancing with the Stars featured much of the cast from the past 10 seasons, who also got to judge. Over fifty of them. But Kate was absent from the season 10 booth. Karma, or too busy working the kids? Erin, Evan, and the Bachelor represented.

Hahaha, Maybe Katie Kreider's invitation was lost in the mail!? She's probably too exhausted anyway after that 20 minute romp in the corn maze with her stiletto boots! OMG Jake was invited but NOT Katie?! Unfreaking believable! Muahahahaha!

I saw most of this awesome show and the guests had something to bring to the table, as in TALENT. The only thing Kate could bring was comic relief.

Just a little reminder of how well Kate does without her 8 little money makers (I mean kids...). Some comic relief at how people perceive her and how well she does by herself.

Is it possible - just possible - that Kate was not willing to go on TV and make an utter fool of herself again? I'm not entirely sure Kate knew she would be the butt of the joke at the Emmy Awards (she probably thought they wanted her because she was so brilliant and all) but then she found out it was all to poke fun at her. Do you think she's open to that possibility a second time? She may be running
paranoid about these invitations now.

That's assuming she got one in the first place, of course. My real bet is that she was never invited. They really did want dancing out there, not misdirected foot pointing and deer in the headlights freeze frames.

I think DWTS is like anyone else and will invite anyone if they think it will make them money.

PJ's momma said...

fidosmommy, with all due respect, I doubt it (regarding your first paragraph). She seems to be willing to take any opportunity thrust at her, and now that the ratings for this season were on par with the ratings for her catastrophic performances, maybe they just didn't invite her. She didn't even answer voice mails from her instructor, who was being courteous. Why reward such disrespect? IMO, of course.

Kate has no self-awareness so I doubt she's concerned about being made fun of! Narcissists love all attention, even negative attention. Sometimes they don't seem to understand attention is negative. There's no such thing as positive/negative attention to them, it's all attention.

This is really a perfect example of why it pays to maintain your Hollywood Rolodex instead of discarding people the second you are finished with them.

Had Kate kept up a good relationship with Tony, returning all his calls and texts, maybe inviting him out to the house once in awhile, working with TLC on whatever show they were trying to develop with him awhile back and supporting it, and developing a close friendship with him, Tony might very well say I have to have Kate at the 200th episode, make it happen! Tony has been on the show for years, if I'm not mistaken, since the beginning. After being around that long you can develop some pull and I bet my bottom dollar they'd be happy to oblige someone like Tony who has helped to make the show such a success. Kate could appear on the 200th episode, make a paycheck on her own merit, and maybe she wouldn't have to work the kids in the fields all weekend long instead.

Karma, you know it.

HI 50 said...

Ooooo, I LOVE that one, "...it pays to maintain your Hollywood Rolodex..." I guess Stevie & her PR team forgot to advise her on that one. HOW TO MAINTAIN your Hollywood connections to achieve your BIG DREAMS. Guess Katie Irene wasn't into listening to good advice. Missed seeing her on the cherry picker at DWTS! Muahahaha!

"...and developing a close friendship with him..."

Narcissists are incapable of developing and, especially, maintaining genuine friendships. I would bet they're unable to create and sustain ANY kind of authentic interpersonal relationship.
People and material things only have meaning as long as they are immediately USEFUL to the narcissist. I know; my mother was one.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

HI50 it's just so true! A good rolodex is helpful for anyone, but it's especially nice in Hollywood.

Just dying to go to that concert? It's nice if you made small talk with the drummer at a A-lister party once. Maybe you're looking for a new stylist and have at least three celebs you can call whom you know have good stylists looking to take on more clients. Or maybe that producer you talked about your kids with is thinking of you for a cameo, it's a good thing you returned his calls in the past and he still has a good number for you. Those thug football players you didn't think you'd have much in common with but you took the time to get to know anyway, just invited you to the Superbowl.

And of course, your former dance partner you've become so close with just insisted that you must be in the 200th episode or he's walking off.

Yup, it pays.

I doubt she would be invited. She was a known diva on set, nobody wanted to put up with her again. She again, burned bridges with all the DWTS cast & crew, as she does with all the people in her life. She had a great opportunity here, & she blew it, IMO.

cathy518 said...

Just taking your idea further Admin, maybe it was Tony who said "No Kate!". Perhaps the producers of DWTS know he has had it with her and they didn't want to inflict that witch any more on one of their valued dance instructors.

Vanessa said...

Or maybe DWTS didn't like the way she turned the season she was in into a joke. I don't think the judges are too thrilled with some of the contestants they have to critique. Maybe they had their fill of her when she totally screwed up her last dance and ended up in the cherry picker. Now THAT was just horrendously horrendous! She tainted a "somewhat" classy show. The DWTS staff/commentators/judges have no problem in bashing OTHER less desirables (the Situation?)but they pussyfooted around HER?
They knew they couldn't have her on without it turning into a comedy/circus act.

Gosselin8ComeFirst said...

I love Dancing with Stars and was appalled by Kate's lack of effort, diva attitude and treatment of Tony(she tried to blame him for her lack of talent- typical) but later tried to say how wonderful he was. She is so transparent. Everyone knew after the episode where Tony "quit" for a minute after she told him SHE knew how she needed to be taught, that she thought he was Jon or any other disposable person. She tried to maninpulate later about how great Tony was, to save her ugly persona, but after her arrogant attitude towards Tony, there was no taking it back.

Without the kids, Kate has nothing to offer but her arrogant, self-entitled, egotisitical, selfish self, and I believe she knows she can no longer earn a penny without the kids. DWTS just proved how well Kate does on her own, left to her own devices.

And I believe DWTS producers know she is on her way out. Who does 20 minute filmings in a cornfield or last minute filmings in a party store? Probably back up filming to see how her upcoming Alaska episode will go. I believe K + 8 is on its way OUT. Good riddance. Could care less what she does after that, just let the kids lead a normal life without cameras. They have a right to lead a normal "camera free" life like any other child.

Save the Kids hit the nail on the head. The producers of DWTS know who is TV poison, so to speak. And she certainly is.

I have a question about this Party City/corn maze footage. When in the world are they going to air THAT? At Christmas?

Wouldn't they normally film holiday stuff in time to actually air it at or right after that holiday? How strange will it be when you see kids shopping for costumes and going through a corn maze near Christmas? I mean, at least with summer vacation footage it's not about a SPECIFIC holiday. This is.

No one's going to be interested in that. My theory is that TLC is somewhat appeasing Kate right now. Stringing her along a bit, if you will. They know it's over, she probably suspects it's over, but no one's had the balls yet to have a real solid Come to Jesus meeting with her (one in which the person sees the light and knows the truth of the situation).

Lolly said...

Why on earth would they invite her? She certainly could not judge a thing about dancing. That would be laughable for her to critique anyone or even praise anyone. She had no idea what she was doing out there, nor did she care.

Shouldn't we all be happy Kate was not invited? After all, the kids are in school now and need her. She would not be competing so there is really no need for her to leave her family and fly across the country for a one night deal. The other celebrities clearly do not have children or have older children and can just pick up and go. Kate cannot. She has responsibilities that keep her in PA. Besides, what financial gain would it be for her? She only leaves her family when there is a paycheck for her and her kids. Unlike Jon, who goes around like he is a single fatherless man. Those smokes and beers don't put money in his pocket.

Since Katie doesn't understand the concept of taking care of her Hollywood Rolodex, at least she made the list for the WORST TV MOMS. The BIG difference? TV Moms were ACTING a part, Katie Irene is the UBER REALITY TV MOM doing it all for her kids.

******************

WORST TV MOMS

5. Kate Gosselin on John & Kate Plus 8… and Dancing with the Stars

Quite possibly the worst thing to happen to reality television since The Swan, Kate Gosselin makes Dina Lohan look like Clair Huxtable. She’s shrill, she’s emasculating, and she whores out her children on national television. Yes, some of the fault lies on her ridiculous ex-husband, John Gosselin. But watching this woman raise her children is like watching her attempt to be sexy on Dancing with the Stars… it’s painful, grotesque, and should be an FCC violation. Wyclef Jean and Al Gore should sponsor a benefit concert to have these children taken away from her and sent to live with a stable family…

You ask why should Kate have attended? I say, IF Kate had been invited, she should have attended to earn a paycheck all by herself rather than the kids earning it for her.

There's no reason to believe it's easier for the other stars to pick up and leave than it is for Kate. Actually, most of the others are engaged with outside obligations, ie: jobs, businesses. Kate? None that I know of.

As for Jon acting like a fatherless dad? Come on now. He's actively involved in their school activities, attends after school events, and has is involved when he has custody. His choice was to have the kids more, but for whatever reason it hasn't happened yet. "Smokes and beers" have nothing to do with whether Kate should have gone to DWTS - IF - she had been invited.

Yes I imagine Pamela, Shannon and Buzz were all busy with other projects just like Kate was busy and that's why they didn't make it. But I'm willing to bet none of those projects involved exploiting their kids.

Observing Kate's behavior over the years, it's a pretty safe bet to assume that if Kate were indeed invited, she would have been on the first plane out of Pennsylvania, booking herself into a 5-star hotel in LA, and thanking her lucky stars for her vacation from the kids.

All the while, complaining to anyone who would listen how much she missed her poor, poor children back home....

THAT'S why it's safe to assume she wasn't invited.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

HUH? The stars who attended were paid for their appearance. The financial gain for Kate would have been for hers, for once done without involving her kids. Her long term paycheck would be gained by cultivating acquaintances and friendships with could lead to future engagements, all things that were discussed in the previous couple of threads.
She only leaves when there is a paycheck in it for her and her kids? Was she paid for her repeated trips over multiple days to NYC for her personal pampering etc etc? I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something but I just don't understand the logic.

If you don't mind, I'd like to take this one:

We don't know for sure if she was invited or not.

Personally, I am thrilled that she did not attend. It automatically guaranteed that DWTS was going to be enjoyable to watch. Her presence in the past shows, had a tendancy of sucking the life out of the room. Anyway, the 200th celebration show is supposed to be a night of celebrating all the wonderful dancers that worked very hard, and gave amazing performances. I don't remember Kate even tried.
I do remember that she was FULL of excuses, and could not be bothered even trying with the amazing chance she got though...

Here's my reasoning for presuming that Kate was not invited- in the past, whenever Hollywood called, Kate ran like a bat out of hell to get away from the kiddies and her McMansion. We all witnessed that.

My deduction is that she stayed home. No one was interested in going "there" again with her.

Sorry to bust that bubble.

Of course they do. Then why isn't she there -- at school, supporting them in all of their school activities, events, conferences, field trips, fund-raising events? Why has Jon always been the one to do this? Could it be that she's just too busy with "celebrity-ism" and doing things for HERSELF, and because there's nothing in it for HER?...no paps allowed, therefore no free publicity in her quest for fame and fortune?
