The children should be out of the spotlight

When Jon and Kate signed up to exploit their children's private moments when they were one year old, they exposed them to vicious and damaging tabloid rumors five years down the line.

Sadly, a very private and personal tabloid rumor is now being reported about two of the children. Whether this rumor is true is irrelevant to the fact that this is a consequence of throwing your children into the world of fame and celebrity, and then refusing to take them out. Who is to blame for what is allegedly going on with these kids is irrelevant to the fact that if not for their fame and exposure, no one but close family and friends would ever know about this. Even if not true, isn't this alone enough for Kate now to realize they should be pulled out of this lifestyle? When will it not be worth it to her anymore? What needs to happen to get through to her?

I'm probably way behind and many of you already know this but I ran across this blogger in the Reading Eagle, a local newspaper in Kate's area. This particular blog was written in May 2005 before the first TLS special with the Gosselins. It shows how greedy she was even back then and how the locals were getting fed up with her expecting handout after handout. Jon even commented in these blogs. It was pretty interesting to see Kate's greed and feelings of entitlement go way back.

WHAT A JOKE! Now she wants privacy..now that things look so darn bad!
Why are the kids homeschooled? Are there no other schools they can possibly go to? It's same school as your siblings or no school at all?

-----------------------

Yes. There are other good private schools in the area, as well as the private Christian school from which Kate graduated. Perhaps they are not ready for any school yet, and she doesn't want to go through this "embarrassment" again. Compulsory education in PA is age eight.

Read the old newspaper article and was shocked at the replies that were written over 5 1/2 yrs ago. The community had her number way back then!

I am assuming the reason Kate decided to hold all the little children back - even those who were ready for Kindergarten - for another year of Pre-K was because she did not want them separated by grade. So, if she were to hold 2
back from any schooling until age 8, that would put the private school students MILES ahead of their 2 siblings. I doubt Kate would go for that.

Rumor has it that Carla is one of their new home school teachers. I have no idea what her credentials are. Very often homeschooled children do as well or even better than school taught children. Homeschooling is not necessarily for those who don't have any alternative. It can be great, as long as the kids get time to socialize with people outside their home schooling environment.

If these two children never go back to a school setting and remain home-schooled, how long will it be before the rest of the little ones rebel? They are probably already wondering why they have to get up so early and undergo the long rides to and from school each day, while Alexis and Collin get to sleep in and have more play time at home. (And don't try to tell me they're not.)

PatK, you triggered a memory in me. My now-10-yr-old son was a November baby and perhaps not quite ready for pre-K. More often than not he would miss the morning but we'd send him in the afternoon (it was full days, 3X per week). After awhile the teacher called me and recommended I pull him out completely b/c the other kids were saying it's not fair that "Laura's boy" got to take mornings off. Kids know when stuff isn't fair even at age 4!

Khate's got her wish: the kids names are now on the top, internet searches. She's back in the public's eye again and will be cashing in on the bad publicity come the next show.

Very depressing :(

Gotyournumber you're right, these have been discussed on other blogs. They give a broad insight to how Kate Gosselin works and her sense of entitlement. She was this way waaaaaay before the show started. The very best look at the greed was their old "sixgosselins" website. This used to be able to be accessed from the internet archive "Wayback Machine" but it has been scrubbed from the internet in the last year or so, presumably by TLC. It was so blatant, so outrageously greedy, they made it clear they were not going to settle for a diaper drive or two and then fade away into obscurity. They made sure they kept themselves out there and made sure the public knew they were needy *at all times* so the donations kept steadily rolling in month after month. They maintained a very long "prayer list" they demanded the public grant them, namely store gift cards, a strange obsession with paper towels, $$$ help with their mortgage and utilities and tuition for the twins pre-school. One of Kate's few personal posts was to "pray" for a new, larger house. She hoped someone would be "led" to buy them one. Jon's dentist father died when the tups were 8 mos. old. He had been heavily supporting them in addition to the public. When the notice of his passing was posted on the 6G website, there was a few lines about Mr. G then the rest was a tacky, long-winded rant about their "desperate financial situation."

They received many donations of equipment, such as the 6 seat stroller Kate posted about longingly on a moms website. Those moms immediately took up a collection and had a 6 seat stroller custom made for her at a cost of $1,000+ It was reported Kate was rarely ever seen using it, Jon was the one seen using it shortly after they moved to the Andrews Ave. House in E-town. They also received 6 new cribs and a six seat feeding table used by daycare centers. All of these things were promised by Jon & Kate to be donated to other families of multiples "to pay forward the blessings bestowed upon us." That never happened. They sold everything on the Triplet Connection website Jon used to belong to (until he took his marbles and went home.....boo hoo) and at their yard sales. Some of it was sold even after they started the show and Jon was working for the Governor's office, they DID NOT need that money. When Kate said "society should help support families like ours since since society promotes the use of fertility treatments" she was really only referring to herself and her family. There is no credible evidence they did anything to help any other familes of multiples, despite the many blessings that were indeed bestowed upon them.

So they were kind of like mini televangelists, soliciting money and donations from the good Christian people at churches and in their community.

When did the preaching end? What was their last speaking engagement? I thought that she was still asking for church donations and crying poverty AFTER they bought the new home.

Or when they traveled around the country taking CASH donations in person. What a pathetic example this woman has been to her kids from the very start.

It was my understanding that they had money they were 'sitting on' but felt they shouldn't have to use their savings. I remember the article the Reading Eagle did in which the writer asked Kate a no. of questions, aka, suggested solutions to their financial problems, but Kate had an answer for each question/solution, as to why that wouldn't work.

Kate was into her 'plan' for fame and fortune well before she met Jon. She had a desire for HOM's as a teen, fed by her interest in a family of multiples she read about. She cheated on a fiance with someone richer (or who had more 'toys'), she saw Jon with his girlfriend and realized that if she had HOM's with him the children would have the added bonus of 'different' looks from non-Asian looking children. So, start the script. Get rid of the girlfriend, immediately declare a state of unableness (a Kateish word) to become pregnant on their own, have infertility treatments. Damn, just have twins. SAY you want to see what it's like to have just ONE baby (like twins is soooo many) and naturally return for infertility treatments (don't they ALWAYS result in single births?), AND THEN, OMG, have sextuplets (well, it was septuplets but the little girl named Emily Rose-or some such thing was suddenly gone) and she was back to just sextuplets. AND THEN, start talking about wanting just one more again, BUT, oh no, she got rid of Jon before she got the final deal maker. And then those pesky six kids outgrew toddlerishness cute (inspite of her doing everything in her power to keep them littleish-underfeeding/keep them small-keep them in highchairs wearing bibs and drinking out of sippycups and not only encouraging babyish talk and mannerisms but discourage learning by holding them back from school because the whole gaggle of gosselins wasn't ready (and being at school would have impeded filming anyway).

Rant over, wish/hope she is too!

Students who have been expelled are not considered to be “enrolled in a regular day school” (language from the Child Labor Law) so they may be permitted to work during the time school is in session. They may not, however, exceed the daily and weekly maximum number of hours allowed for their age.

===================

The kids aren't required to be enrolled in ANY school until age eight in PA, so I'm wondering if all of this is a moot point.

He has stood back and seen all the crap first hand and turned his head like so many others !
I hope they get what they deserve.

I watched Steve's interview on youtube, and he is convinced that Kate is the victim in all of this. You know, when you are the common denominator in many, many failed relationships and estrangements, you ought to take a good look in the mirror.
He's sticking to his story. He's also the children's de facto father.

You know in a way it's refereshing that the only thing the sheeple can do at this point is troll around here (Why? I don't troll at their sites), try to find spelling errors and then attack them like wolves. Because they don't actually have a response to the total debacle that is this family and they don't actually have a response when we blame it largely on Kate. They got nothin'.

I used to think maybe the children would have problems in school more around eighth or ninth grade. But kindergarten? It's sort of what we all warned everyone about, only ten years earlier than we ever thought.

Yep, I counted the positives re. Khate -- 7.
Hmmmm Her a$$ is gra$$ as far as I can tell.
Glad she renewed her nursing license.

These darling children need our continued support and that of their so-called "caretakers."
I saw a 6 year old taken away (twice) by 'the men in the white coats' and the mother continued to blame it on our school. When she took him out of school I asked her what counseling/theraphy she had planned (older brother was in my class) and she replied it was the school's fault! "There's nothing wrong with my child." denial - denial- denial
We must continue to support the children and never, ever watch TLC.

Just wanted to add my experience about kids bringing home uneaten food. At my son's elementary school, kids brought home all their trash from lunch, including uneaten food. The school saved money on trash disposal, parents saw what their kids ate and didn't eat, and the school was trying to raise awareness of the amount of trash generated at lunch. There was a "green campaign" going on to encourage parents to send food in reusable contrainers, rather than wrapping everything in plastic wrap that gets thrown away after one use.

Admin, your photos of the kids shopping for Halloween costumes, 10/27, shows two tups not in uniform. And I gather expulsion was well before then....

The 2nd photo where they're leaving the store shows more than just 2 tups in street clothes.

I agree, Admin. This is particularly true since Kindergarteners are not allowed to throw out their lunches because it's felt that parents need to see what was eaten and what was not.

Anon, are you speaking about the children's school in particular (is that their policy?) or do you just mean that some kindergarens do this? Thanks!

@ Go Jon Go, I understand that situations like this should be private but when you and your kids are put out there for the public to view it all goes hand in hand. That's why most celebs hide their kids from the paps and don't expose them on television. Jon seems to tweet about everything including spending time with his kids and what they had for dinner, can't hide the fact that this is out there. I just hope the lunch thing is untrue, the thought of her repacking old sandwiches is just gross.

She got to name them too, and the kids had no say in it.

About the lunches...Anyone who would laugh that the chicken her kids were eating was pink would probably snicker that their lunch meat was gray, too. I'm still hoping it's just a nasty rumor and not true. But who can tell about her anymore.

**
ha! I don't like Oprah either Admin - the show or the person. I've watched her about three times in the past twenty years...the last time being when she raked that Frey guy over the coals for lying to her. Why doesn't she invite Kate back on her show and do the same.

InTouch is reporting that Collin didn't want to have his school pictures taken because he's so tired of being on camera. I guess the sheeple will blame that on Jon, too, since he's the one who is insisting that the kids be filmed. They are also reporting that the kids "just want to fit in" and that they show up at school exhausted."
What in the world is she doing to these kids? Can't anyone knock some sense into her? Geez...

I'm sure Jon knows that his kids being expelled from school is all over the internet and yet not one tweet, now the rumor of his ex-wife feeding his kids moldy sandwiches and still no tweet. This whole mess is not only embarrassing but all must be true too. If he really cares about them kids just the idea of moldy sandwiches would have me pulling them kids from her claws.

K8SUCKS said...

Lorrie, yep, it's all about winning for K8, even when her "competition" is her own child.

A couple other examples :

-K8 never made hot lunches for her kids but when it was Mady's/Cara's day to "play mommy" ( I still roll my eyes at the name of that epi, it should have been titled "Twins play Daddy" since Jon did everything), she gave them a hot-chicken-sandwich recipe that was much more involved than , say, a tuna fish sandwich. K8 totally set those girls up to fail, or at the very least, be totally dependent on her for help.

-She raced the kids to be the first to hold the not-a-Christmas-present puppies .

I know there are more that I am forgetting at the moment .......

As for the details about Marie Osmond, very interesting indeed.

Why do you think she is denying her son being gay? In the past she has openly talk about her daughter who is gay and doesn't have problem with it.
