Kate's been quiet because this is a battle she can't win. She followed her normal pattern when dealing with Collin--she banished him, just like everyone else. But if she expected her followers to just blindly accept that (which she obviously did), she must have been surprised at their reactions. Even they couldn't find a decent argument in favor of banishing a child, especially as the years dragged on with him gone. Milo sure did try, bless her heart, to convince everyone that it's just like college and it's just temporary, but over time that argument just didn't hold water. Kate can't fight this battle without trashing Collin (and Hannah since she left), and she knows she can't get away with that. She does not want to open the floodgates. She will not win this one if she does.
I think that dad rule needs to be tweaked just a bit: "Ask your mom to play. But don't get your feelings hurt if she doesn't recognize you."

Yes, and the story is insane. The guy is only 21, and apparently he targeted Jayme. Why??? I must confess I thought there was a good chance the girl was dead, though it didn't make sense to me why her parents were killed and found but she wasn't found.
I pray to God he didn't hurt her in the time he held her captive. This has a lot of similarities to Elizabeth Smart. Jayme even resembles Elizabeth. I'm glad she ran away or this could have turned into a much longer ordeal. We need to drill into both kids and adults if ever in this unlikely situation you MUST make every effort to run away, it's your best chance.

That's really sick what people are saying. She's a 12 year old child. No matter what happened, she is the victim of this adult. It does not matter what happened or even if she consenting to anything, she cannot consent. It's 2019 and people are still treating children this way.
It's just awful that people are speculating that Jayme had something to do with this. I'm sure police searched any social media and her phone (if she had one), and questioned her friends and acquaintances. No link. And--Jayme was wearing shoes much too big for her when she escaped. He must have taken hers to keep her from getting away on foot. A story I read today said the kidnapper was driving around "hunting" her when he was captured. It gives me chills to think what he would have done if he had found her.
The family of Jayme Closs is asking for privacy at this time. Thank God she has a great support system and her dogs. When her ordeal sinks in it will hit her that something horrendous happened to her. Elizabeth Smart has come forward with praise of Jayme and how resourceful and strong she is to rescue herself like that. There is a ton of snow in that area right now. Thank God she is safe and had the fortitude to just run.

The same thing happened a few months ago when Mady posted a photo of herself and mentioned that her makeup was done by a NYC makeup artist. I saw that Counting On is returning for another season in early February. The last season ended in October! So it only takes 4 months to film a full season, edit it, and have it ready for viewing. TLC announced the dating show at the beginning of last April. Kate was "working" with Jamie in early May, was filming at an Escape Room in August, and still--nothing. TLC said the show would air in the fall of 2018. It didn't. TLC has not mentioned the show at all since the announcement in May. Isn't that just...interesting.
Regarding Kate's claims that she "can't go back"--she once said she first said that to Jon in 2007 or 2008, and Jon agreed. But she also says that Jon was always ready to walk away. One of her many, many contradictions. Why walk away if you know you can't "go back"? What would be the point? It looks like Mady has learned some of Kate's worst habits about social media. The NYC photo is a big tease, leaving far more questions unanswered than answered. Most celebs when they post something like that that simply isn't self explanatory, will say something the to the effect of "in NYC for such and such", or otherwise share interesting or descriptive information about what is going on. I can think of a handful of celeb accounts I follow now who always say WHY they are where they are, unless it's obvious why, like they're at home. Kate could have transitioned at least some of these kids to developing their own following and branding and likely make a few bucks, but because she's an idiot, none of these kids will never take off.
Lorrie (#50), and the people you mentioned were famous for having a specific talent, and they managed to humble themselves to get regular jobs. Seems to me that Kate may have given up (at least for now) on the idea of stardom for the tups since C and H are no longer in her clutches. She has seemed to go full steam ahead ( although unsuccessfully so far) with promoting the twins, especially Mady. She might have Mady’s blessing to do so since she loves attention as much as Kate. He and his wife are now going into savings to pay large bills - mortgage, heat but are fortunate that his wife is salaried and they have no children but still, things are getting tight and they don’t want to go into IRAs. Several of those he works with have had to take on second jobs and so are guiding flights with less sleep than they need. The schools that train air flight staff are closed and so no new staff will be available for quite some time.
Please don’t disparage those furloughed. Their political affiliation doesn’t matter, of course they want good border security in whatever form is right for an individual region.

These people are people like anyone else, a furlough is a stressful, hard thing to go through. It makes you feel guilty that you are not doing your job and yet you know you will get back pay when the latest furlough is over. Mollie Tibbetts mother doesn't want her daughter's death to be political. That is certainly understandable in this difficult time. Few parents would want their child to be the face of any issue. That being said, her murder is relevant to the discussion and a matter of grave public concern. The government offers really good health benefits. If she’s got a hospital bill and pharmacy copay like that there’s something very wrong and we’re not getting the whole story.
When we were stationed at Ft. Bliss I can’t tell you the number of times that I saw border patrol with “illegals” sitting on the side of the road and it was the same when we were stationed in AZ. Also, one of the major wildfires was started by drug runners from Mexico as a diversion. If you walk in the desert you’d better have a weapon. Exactly my thought. It was a ridiculous attempt at a sob story to try to come up with some dramatic headline.
When you actually read the story, you see I believe the woman worked for Fish and Wildlife, which has just as much of a comprehensive health insurance plan as anyone else, and it's not that she lost her insurance or anything else. It's that she herself, despite plenty of insulin available to her, voluntarily chose to stop taking her insulin because she panicked about her debt and finances. So in other words, she did it to herself.
You can't fix stupid, even in a government shutdown.
If the sentiment is the wall won't work (and it's worked amazingly at the Israel/Egypt border, at San Diego right here, and many other borders) then what's the harm in trying it? And don't say because it's too much money, because the amount of money the government burns on a daily basis would make you fall over. No liberal ever once showed concern over spending before so you can't change gears now to suit your purpose.

It sounds like perhaps this might be a good lesson for people that a backup plan is your friend. Some people in recent times have become VERY dependent on the government. Not just for financial support but it almost seems like for emotional support too. Very nanny state, very paternalistic. It's very strange, especially in light of how independent Americans generally are. And dangerous. When government knows the people think they need them, politicians take advantage of that. Correct, the wall would help stop that. I think everyone needs to just admit the wall would help stop it and stop pretending, then we might be able to have an honest discussion. 90 percent of asylum claims unfortunately have no merit to them. They don't do it by legal means because they know their claim will get denied for being bogus, or they will be discovered as MS13 what with all the tattoos on their face.
Even Mexico has had it with illegal immigrants using their country as a bridge to the US. Those against the wall need to look at THEIR history, because it's very informative. In 2008, they made immigration just illegal civilly. Not criminally. They actually hoped that the reverse psychology of it would actually reduce immigration, like the idea that if you legalize drugs it will reduce the demand. There is nothing odd or strange about what Trump wants to do. It was happening long before him and he's had to ratchet it up because the problem is getting worse and worse. It is irrelevant to the point what American citizens do, as they have a constitutional right to be here. If we could deport criminals who are native born that would be interesting; we can't. But we CAN deport criminals who are not native born or try to prevent them from coming here in the first place. We have that tool because they simply don't have the rights that natives have. That being said, the last time the polls were supposedly so very accurate, Trump got elected. So you can imagine how reliable those polls are, which if you look at them, involve a small sampling size and ask the wall question in a manner that is confusing or not nuanced enough. Asking if you support the wall or not is too simple of a question for many people, since many people like the idea of a wall but only if we can keep the costs down and/or only if it's in the highest traffic areas or only if coupled with other measures like drones, but when you only have to pick yes or no....any one with a tiny bit of critical thinking skills can see why it's hard to gage what the public really feels. And this cuts both ways, the polls could be UNDER reporting dislike of the wall, too. We just don't know because it's a very difficult issue to poll on because of it's nuances. So, fair is fair.

Involved attempts like that are apparently rare at other walls. The crossings in Egypt went from 4,000 to eleven in one year after building the wall. The next year it was zero! Requiring stairs or ropes and things makes a crossing more expensive and dangerous and difficult for everyone but the mist young and agile. A huge deterrent. Again look at San Diego. Their wall is proof of concept it works. So why not try it?

I saw that Counting On is returning for another season in early February. The last season ended in October! So it only takes 4 months to film a full season, edit it, and have it ready for viewing. TLC announced the dating show at the beginning of last April. Kate was "working" with Jamie in early May, was filming at an Escape Room in August, and still--nothing. TLC said the show would air in the fall of 2018. It didn't. TLC has not mentioned the show at all since the announcement in May. Isn't that just...interesting.

It's looking more and more like that Twist of Khate show, where she was seen filming one episode and then the show never materialized. The Fake dating show is most likely dead due to the fact that TFW can't carry a show on her own, only four of the sextuplets are left with her, and Jon won't agree to having them take part in the filming.
I suppose it's still possible they're trying to save the show by revamping it and only having Cara and Mady appear in it since they're now 18 and don't need Jon's permission. But, it appears that Mady is the only one who would be interested in filming this fiasco. I can't see an idiotic show like this ever being worth filming, but TLC has certainly made many odd decisions in the past.

The fact that she hasn't posted at all since Thanksgiving weekend is probably the best indication that her Fake Date with Khate show has been axed. If TLC had simply told her it was postponed from last fall to early this year, or even this spring, she probably wouldn't completely abandon Instagram and what few fans she has left and then expect them to come back around many months later to watch her dumb show. Hopefully, she's finally done.
Former Lurker (87) This dating show thing is looking just like Twist of Kate. TLC announces it and then never mentions it again. They are spotted filming 1 episode, and then no more. There were rumors that the one episode was shown to a test audience and didn't go over well. Kate kept claiming it wasn't cancelled, yet it never aired. Looking at the status on thefutoncritic.com for both Twist of Kate and Kate Plus Date, both are listed as "previously in development". If you look up Dr. Foot Fixer (announced by TLC in October), it says "currently in development".
I suspect they filmed an episode and showed it to a test audience, and it wasn't well received. They may be trying to find a formula that works, just like before, but the fact is, Kate is not interesting or likeable on her own. Jon says he won't sign for her to film the kids, she doesn't have friends or family to bring in to make it more interesting, and of her two adult children, one acts like she'd rather die than film. If TLC does go ahead with this, they'll regret it. You can't bore your audience and expect them to stick around.

The timeline really is strange. I never followed their logic of announcing things they aren't pretty darn sure are going to air when they promise. That doesn't promote good will with viewers. Things happen of course, but things seem to happen a lot to Kate's shows, so with that history of uncertainty, you might as well just keep this one quiet until you know for sure what's going on.

The Sister Wives has been renewed also. As creepy as Grody Brown is they still got renewed. Not that I will watch, but the preview is the same song, second verse. Just like the Duggars, and Seeking sister wives. Kate can't even get a date for her show let alone a date with a man.
Off topic, I just want to share something with those who are interested in crime stories. Last year, the comments here got me interested in that Marcia Clark First 48 series and I ended up recording and watching all the episodes.
I read this very interesting article the other day:
The article, and current six part series on the Oxygen channel, is about young college age men across the country who vanished after a night of drinking with friends at a bar, (all are separate individual cases in different cities over a period of twenty years). The cases were classified as missing persons cases. After a period of about two to three months, their bodies were found in rivers or other bodies of water. Apparently, the police just closed the case each time, attributing it to college kid goes out drinking, gets drunk, falls in river while on way home alone, body found a couple of months later, case closed. The cases always remained with the missing persons department and weren't ever looked at by homicide detectives.
The cases span a period from 1997 to 2017 in cities across the U.S. The first case, in 1997, was assigned to a NYC police detective who has long since retired, but has made solving these cases his life's mission. He's put together a team of two other retired NY detectives, plus a criminology professor from Minnesota.
I remember reading about a few of these cases over the last five to ten years, and while I thought it was odd that this kept happening, I never thought there was a connection. I hadn't heard about the smiley face graffiti that always appears on a bridge or structure close to where the bodies are discovered, or near where they are thought to have entered the water.
After reading the article, we recorded and watched the first episode last night. I think a lot of you here will be interested in it. The first episode focuses on the 2017 case in Pittsburgh that the Daily Beast article discusses.
I just checked and the first episode is re-airing on Oxygen tonight at 11 pm eastern, and also on Monday night at midnight if anyone wants to record it. After that, the rest of the episodes (2 through 6) will be airing on Saturdays at 7 pm eastern.
The first episode was so interesting, from a criminal investigation standpoint, and also from a legal perspective. The last half hour is just so unbelievable as far as what the kid's parents have gone through with the police department and the completely incompetent medical examiner's office.
By the way, the team of retired detectives got Cyril Wecht involved in that case. Again, the last half hour is just bombshell developments, with his help. The boy went missing in Pittsburgh in January 2017 and was found in the river that March. The retired detectives worked on the case last year and there were a lot of developments just the last few months of last year, and as recently as a month ago. It's extremely heartbreaking what his poor parents have gone through, and so frustrating to see how the system has treated them and has failed not just them, but everyone.
Sorry for the length, but I really do think Admin and others will be interested in this. Read the article I linked to above and then set your timers to record it. I'd love to hear what Admin and others think about it.
Former Lurker said... 97 I live near the city in Wis on the Miss. River where several drownings happened. I am torn between serial killer and accidental though. I know the park where they went in. I have gone there since I was a kid. It would be easy for them to just fall in if really drunk. But it was so many of them it is suspicious. About 10 in 20 yrs. I remember watchiing for news they had been found alive. They now have a volunteer group of people who walk down in that area and watch for disoriented people so they can help them stay safe.

Yes, it was stupid but she had so many opportunities on her own she could have pursued. I personally never thought she was a great cook but she could have expanded on that, or her "great" organizational abilities she claimed to have. I think she was to busy seeing the $$ signs in her eyes when Discovery first introduced their contract. If they had taken the time to read it and seen that they were bound to Discovery hook, line and sinker things might have turned out different. I watched the show because it was cute at first but then her true colors came out. She became more and more ugly to Jon and I actually felt sorry for the guy. I couldn't understand why someone would treat their significant other like she did especially when he actually did things. We never saw on screen him coming home and plopping on the couch and saying, "I have worked all day I am not bathing the kids, you have been home all day you do it". Anyway, I have gotten off topic. My point being there were plenty of opportunities to forge ahead without the kids if she had been a little nicer. Heck, look at all the opportunities she had not being nice, Dancing with the Stars, The View, The Apprentice, The Emmy's ect..........
Kate had more opportunities dropped in her lap than most people will ever get. The only reason she has not made the most of those opportunities and expanded her "brand" is sheer laziness. She. Is. Lazy. She never wanted to work hard, so she never put in the effort necessary to be successful at anything. It was easier for her to just sit around and wait for the TLC cameras to show up at her door. She could have done other TV projects but didn't put in the effort. She got to be on DTWS and made a fool of herself because she was too lazy to practice. She could have worked to improve her public speaking skills but she was too lazy for that. Same for designing her children's clothing line, promoting businesses or products, running, and blogging. If they took too much effort, she was done. Instead she sits at home, complains about how hard it is to be a mother, and cries poor. Lazy, lazy, lazy woman.
Kate has had it too easy. She’s had the backing of TLC for too long. They supported her and tried to improve her image during the divorce. Her brand was powered by a team of lawyers. She was well protected in every way. I think the old magazine article that spoke about Kate eating out at Nobu, said it all. Kate was holed up in some luxury hotel in NYC with an entourage of people. These VIP’s, including Steve, were working hard to craft her image as the poor struggling mom. But their queen was getting frustrated with all the talk and wanted to eat at Nobu. They were driving her around the city, with the paps following close behind. Kate kept teasing them from outside of her window. Fast forward to now. No paps, no entourage, TLC is no longer promoting her, Steve may or may not be around, and the media is no longer interested in interviewing her. She had everyone eating out of her hands. And now, crickets
Talking about the wall, I have to add my opinion based on my ancestry. My great-grandparents on both sides were immigrants from Germany and Poland in the earlt 1900's. They were not welcome, faced prejudice, started at the bottom of the working ladder shoeling manure or cleaning buildings afte they closed. But they made a life for themselves and eventuallu had families that they raised to believe in the American dream.
I have close friends and neighbors that came into this country from El Salvador and they are good people and hard workers. They wanted a better life for their family which is why immigrants starting coming here centuries ago. That's how we became the great country we are today because we all the children of immigrants who wanted a better life.
I am against the wall, not just because I dislike Trum[ immensely, but because he "cherry picks" the illegal alien stories to prove his point. With the exception of Fox news, the other outlets have stated repeatedly that the less than 3% of murders are committed by illegals, more than 97% are xommitted by non-illegala, namely American citizens.
My heart goes out to the families wanting asylum here. I know what my neighbors told me about El Salvador.
By the way, my husband's grandfather fled Germany in the mid 20th century to get away from the Hitler regime. He could not get into America through Ellis Island, so he went to Canada and snuck inyo America. He later became a citixen and his whole life was a productive citizen and raised his children to appreciate all this great country has to offer. The same as my friends from El Salvador.

This is much, much safer for everyone especially children and anyone ailing or not strong. Crossing illegally has always been extremely dangerous and even deadly. As far as only a small number of crimes being committed by aliens um shouldn’t that be zero? And what’s the objection to deporting illegals for good when they commit crimes? Their school has annual science projects up to the 8th grade. The twins are older, so they aren’t participating. Also the school had a pipe burst and there is a “possible” asbestos contamination. The school is closed as a precaution till the situation is under control. They have something called cyber school days where students can learn their lessons online. It still begs the question, what does Kate do with herself while the kids are in school?
Once again, TFW can't hide her disdain for academics. School is just a stupid building that keeps you from sleeping in, or lounging by the pool. She thinks it's a cause for celebration that she won't be stuck helping her kids with their projects anymore? What kind of role model is she? How will they succeed in high school if they adopt her attitude of indifference towards education?
I can imagine another type of mom writing a post like this: "It's science project time, and my kids are amazing me with their hard work, creativity, and terrific ideas!" Chin up, Schmoopy -- at least you're lucky enough to have one-third of the tups gone this time.
Oh dear, I have a feeling Kendra Wilkinson is going to steal Kate's idea for a dating/boyfriend-type show. She's been photographed with some guy who was on The Bachelorette. She's a fame ho who would do anything to stay on TV (just like Kate), so I'm betting there will be cameras there to document this new "relationship". The fact that the guy is also a reality TV alum says it all. Fortunately for Kendra, she is younger, prettier, and far more likeable than Kate, so she will probably be able to get a season out of this. Of course, her ratings aren't very good, but she has a much better chance of pulling it off than Kate. Expect a new show announcement in 3...2...1.

I've never bought TFW's phony complaints about school being such an inconvenience to her. For years, she's complained on Twitter and Instagram that it's such a drag because they have to get up early in the morning and there's homework and projects to do. Every summer she posts about being so happy they can sleep in now and have tons of free time, and then she complains when the school year starts again.
I think she's totally full of it. She posts this stuff as part of her big phony act. She LOVES when they're in school all day and out of her hair. She has the house all to herself nine to ten hours a day, and has very little to do. She loves it. Don't buy her b.s. It's all an act.

Doing PR for Mommie Dearest just doesn't seem like it would be high up on her to-do list. Maybe a new car for graduation is in the equation -- who knows. I can't see anything because I'm not on IG, but I agree that no 17-year-old is wrapped up in their mother. I'm always pleased when my boys mention me on social media (only on Mother's Day or when I raise their allowances), but other than that it's all about themselves, their friends, their lives. Mady never mentions or posts pictures with friends. Just her mom and siblings and dogs. Very weird for an 18-year-old.

As if the Fake Date with Khate show is so top secret that TFW isn't at liberty to disclose why the premiere has been pushed back at least several months and she can't give any indication of the new expected date.

I think you're right. After looking at some of the other comments, I think the first half of Barb's comment is in response to all the comments made about TFW sending Collin away, not showing up to the custody hearing, and Jon now having custody of Collin and Hannah.
Then, Barb turns to the Fake Date with Khate show because there were also some comments and questions about that. I still think it's ridiculous for her to say when TFW can let people know about the show, she will. We've never seen such secrecy about reality shows except from TFW. That's probably because the show is either dead or TLC is still stringing her along and she doesn't know if it will ever air or when. I still think it's strange, (and stupid), to ignore your social media for months if you're about to have a new show hit the air soon. Which, again, leads me to believe the show is dead.

Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I posted, but I just had to tell you about this 90-minute documentary I just watched on Netflix! Has anybody seen "Abducted in Plain Sight"? If you haven't seen it, you really have to see it! It's the creepiest documentary I've ever seen! The story is about Jan Broberg, 12 year old girl abducted TWICE by a family friend and neighbor back in the 70's. I can't remember the last time I saw something which affected me so deeply. The story is full of twists and turns involving mind games, brain washing by this twisted sick pedophile. My jaw dropped open over and over again watching this show. I'm getting upset all over again just thinking about it. Oh my gosh, please watch it and come back here to discuss. I'd love to hear if it affected you like it did me.

She did not remove herself from the spotlight to spend quality time with her children. In July 2017, when the last episode of K+8 aired, she said she hoped there would be a new season airing in the fall. So she didn't even pretend that she wanted to give the kids a break. She wanted make those kids work as much as she could get away with. Heck, if she had it all her way, they'd still be filming 40+ episodes per year. She's out of the spotlight, but that's not by her own choice. When has she ever turned down an interview, an opportunity to film, or a photo shoot? Never. I think she even misses the paps, even though she pretended that she hated having them around. In fact, she pretended they were still hounding her long after they were gone (except for maybe Chris, although he's long gone now, too). Face it, her glory days are over, and it's not by her choice.

Kate's been quiet because this is a battle she can't win. She followed her normal pattern when dealing with Collin--she banished him, just like everyone else. But if she expected her followers to just blindly accept that (which she obviously did), she must have been surprised at their reactions. Even they couldn't find a decent argument in favor of banishing a child, especially as the years dragged on with him gone. Milo sure did try, bless her heart, to convince everyone that it's just like college and it's just temporary, but over time that argument just didn't hold water. Kate can't fight this battle without trashing Collin (and Hannah since she left), and she knows she can't get away with that. She does not want to open the floodgates. She will not win this one if she does.

I think Jamie's kids live in Pennsylvania with their dad or atleast they did a while ago. That is why she would come back to PA--to visit them (and hang with Khate.)

Yes, and the story is insane. The guy is only 21, and apparently he targeted Jayme. Why??? I must confess I thought there was a good chance the girl was dead, though it didn't make sense to me why her parents were killed and found but she wasn't found.
I pray to God he didn't hurt her in the time he held her captive. This has a lot of similarities to Elizabeth Smart. Jayme even resembles Elizabeth. I'm glad she ran away or this could have turned into a much longer ordeal. We need to drill into both kids and adults if ever in this unlikely situation you MUST make every effort to run away, it's your best chance.

I did and am so happy she was found. I watched live feed from a helicopter of the search parties in the beginning. It was amazing the turnout they had.
She lived about 25 miles south of my daughter. She was found about 40 miles north of her. Thank god they caught him too. I think how it could have been my family and granddaughter. Too close!

That's really sick what people are saying. She's a 12 year old child. No matter what happened, she is the victim of this adult. It does not matter what happened or even if she consenting to anything, she cannot consent. It's 2019 and people are still treating children this way.
It's just awful that people are speculating that Jayme had something to do with this. I'm sure police searched any social media and her phone (if she had one), and questioned her friends and acquaintances. No link. And--Jayme was wearing shoes much too big for her when she escaped. He must have taken hers to keep her from getting away on foot. A story I read today said the kidnapper was driving around "hunting" her when he was captured. It gives me chills to think what he would have done if he had found her.
The family of Jayme Closs is asking for privacy at this time. Thank God she has a great support system and her dogs. When her ordeal sinks in it will hit her that something horrendous happened to her. Elizabeth Smart has come forward with praise of Jayme and how resourceful and strong she is to rescue herself like that. There is a ton of snow in that area right now. Thank God she is safe and had the fortitude to just run.

It's sad that Mady seems to have become so much like her shallow materialistic mother. In early episodes she seemed to have heart and potential to be caring and loving. Thinking especially about the gum incident where she comforted and spoke up for sad little Collin.

She wants people to speculate that they're up to something in NY. There's so many reasons for Mady to be in NY--a class trip, shopping or theater trip, visit with Deanna, tagging along for a hair appointment with "Guncle" Ronnie, a campus visit--but she just has to bring up Kate. I doubt there's anything coming up. Kate just wants to get people speculating. The same thing happened a few months ago when Mady posted a photo of herself and mentioned that her makeup was done by a NYC makeup artist. It was probably something for senior pictures (she can't have mediocre senior pictures like everyone else, you know!), but it stirred up speculation. And then what happened? Nothing. I'm thinking Kate and Mady will do something like this every few months to try to stir things up, but until I hear TLC announce an airing date for this dating show, I'm not falling for it.

I saw that Counting On is returning for another season in early February. The last season ended in October! So it only takes 4 months to film a full season, edit it, and have it ready for viewing. TLC announced the dating show at the beginning of last April. Kate was "working" with Jamie in early May, was filming at an Escape Room in August, and still--nothing. TLC said the show would air in the fall of 2018. It didn't. TLC has not mentioned the show at all since the announcement in May. Isn't that just...interesting.
Regarding Kate's claims that she "can't go back"--she once said she first said that to Jon in 2007 or 2008, and Jon agreed. But she also says that Jon was always ready to walk away. One of her many, many contradictions. Why walk away if you know you can't "go back"? What would be the point? Why walk away if you can't ever work a normal job again, can't support yourselves, can't support your kids? As usual, even her lies don't make sense.

It looks like Mady has learned some of Kate's worst habits about social media. The NYC photo is a big tease, leaving far more questions unanswered than answered. Most celebs when they post something like that that simply isn't self explanatory, will say something the to the effect of "in NYC for such and such", or otherwise share interesting or descriptive information about what is going on. I can think of a handful of celeb accounts I follow now who always say WHY they are where they are, unless it's obvious why, like they're at home. Kate could have transitioned at least some of these kids to developing their own following and branding and likely make a few bucks, but because she's an idiot, none of these kids will never take off.

He and his wife are now going into savings to pay large bills - mortgage, heat but are fortunate that his wife is salaried and they have no children but still, things are getting tight and they don’t want to go into IRAs. Several of those he works with have had to take on second jobs and so are guiding flights with less sleep than they need. The schools that train air flight staff are closed and so no new staff will be available for quite some time.

When you actually read the story, you see I believe the woman worked for Fish and Wildlife, which has just as much of a comprehensive health insurance plan as anyone else, and it's not that she lost her insurance or anything else. It's that she herself, despite plenty of insulin available to her, voluntarily chose to stop taking her insulin because she panicked about her debt and finances. So in other words, she did it to herself.

It sounds like perhaps this might be a good lesson for people that a backup plan is your friend. Some people in recent times have become VERY dependent on the government. Not just for financial support but it almost seems like for emotional support too. Very nanny state, very paternalistic. It's very strange, especially in light of how independent Americans generally are. And dangerous. When government knows the people think they need them, politicians take advantage of that. Correct, the wall would help stop that. I think everyone needs to just admit the wall would help stop it and stop pretending, then we might be able to have an honest discussion. 90 percent of asylum claims unfortunately have no merit to them. Asking if you support the wall or not is too simple of a question for many people, since many people like the idea of a wall but only if we can keep the costs down and/or only if it's in the highest traffic areas or only if coupled with other measures like drones, but when you only have to pick yes or no....any one with a tiny bit of critical thinking skills can see why it's hard to gage what the public really feels. And this cuts both ways, the polls could be UNDER reporting dislike of the wall, too. We just don't know because it's a very difficult issue to poll on because of it's nuances. So, fair is fair.

Involved attempts like that are apparently rare at other walls. The crossings in Egypt went from 4,000 to eleven in one year after building the wall. The next year it was zero! Requiring stairs or ropes and things makes a crossing more expensive and dangerous and difficult for everyone but the mist young and agile. A huge deterrent. Again look at San Diego. Their wall is proof of concept it works. So why not try it?

Layla, that's a very good summary of the strange timeline for the Fake Date with Khate show. Very interesting. The announcement was made in early April, with filming beginning in May, and a "fall" premiere date, which probably means a four to six month turnaround.
It's looking more and more like that Twist of Khate show, where she was seen filming one episode and then the show never materialized. The Fake dating show is most likely dead due to the fact that TFW can't carry a show on her own, only four of the sextuplets are left with her, and Jon won't agree to having them take part in the filming.
I suppose it's still possible they're trying to save the show by revamping it and only having Cara and Mady appear in it since they're now 18 and don't need Jon's permission. But, it appears that Mady is the only one who would be interested in filming this fiasco. I can't see an idiotic show like this ever being worth filming, but TLC has certainly made many odd decisions in the past.

The fact that she hasn't posted at all since Thanksgiving weekend is probably the best indication that her Fake Date with Khate show has been axed. If TLC had simply told her it was postponed from last fall to early this year, or even this spring, she probably wouldn't completely abandon Instagram and what few fans she has left and then expect them to come back around many months later to watch her dumb show. Hopefully, she's finally done.

I suspect they filmed an episode and showed it to a test audience, and it wasn't well received. They may be trying to find a formula that works, just like before, but the fact is, Kate is not interesting or likeable on her own. Jon says he won't sign for her to film the kids, she doesn't have friends or family to bring in to make it more interesting, and of her two adult children, one acts like she'd rather die than film. If TLC does go ahead with this, they'll regret it. You can't bore your audience and expect them to stick around.

I’m curious how Kate’s has been getting her narcissist supply recently. She used to go silent whenever she was either filming or being pampered somewhere. Whenever she wasn’t ,she’d be back on Twitter with her teasing . I believe now, she is neither filming, nor getting royal treatment anywhere. Layla, that's a very good summary of the strange timeline for the Fake Date with Khate show. Very interesting. The announcement was made in early April, with filming beginning in May, and a "fall" premiere date, which probably means a four to six month turnaround.

The timeline really is strange. I never followed their logic of announcing things they aren't pretty darn sure are going to air when they promise. That doesn't promote good will with viewers. Things happen of course, but things seem to happen a lot to Kate's shows, so with that history of uncertainty, you might as well just keep this one quiet until you know for sure what's going on.

The Sister Wives has been renewed also. As creepy as Grody Brown is they still got renewed. Not that I will watch, but the preview is the same song, second verse. Just like the Duggars, and Seeking sister wives. Kate can't even get a date for her show let alone a date with a man.
Off topic, I just want to share something with those who are interested in crime stories. Last year, the comments here got me interested in that Marcia Clark First 48 series and I ended up recording and watching all the episodes.

The article, and current six part series on the Oxygen channel, is about young college age men across the country who vanished after a night of drinking with friends at a bar, (all are separate individual cases in different cities over a period of twenty years). The cases were classified as missing persons cases. After a period of about two to three months, their bodies were found in rivers or other bodies of water. Apparently, the police just closed the case each time, attributing it to college kid goes out drinking, gets drunk, falls in river while on way home alone, body found a couple of months later, case closed. The cases always remained with the missing persons department and weren't ever looked at by homicide detectives.
The cases span a period from 1997 to 2017 in cities across the U.S. The first case, in 1997, was assigned to a NYC police detective who has long since retired, but has made solving these cases his life's mission. He's put together a team of two other retired NY detectives, plus a criminology professor from Minnesota.
I remember reading about a few of these cases over the last five to ten years, and while I thought it was odd that this kept happening, I never thought there was a connection. I hadn't heard about the smiley face graffiti that always appears on a bridge or structure close to where the bodies are discovered, or near where they are thought to have entered the water.
After reading the article, we recorded and watched the first episode last night. I think a lot of you here will be interested in it. The first episode focuses on the 2017 case in Pittsburgh that the Daily Beast article discusses.
I just checked and the first episode is re-airing on Oxygen tonight at 11 pm eastern, and also on Monday night at midnight if anyone wants to record it. After that, the rest of the episodes (2 through 6) will be airing on Saturdays at 7 pm eastern.
The first episode was so interesting, from a criminal investigation standpoint, and also from a legal perspective. The last half hour is just so unbelievable as far as what the kid's parents have gone through with the police department and the completely incompetent medical examiner's office.
By the way, the team of retired detectives got Cyril Wecht involved in that case. Again, the last half hour is just bombshell developments, with his help. The boy went missing in Pittsburgh in January 2017 and was found in the river that March. The retired detectives worked on the case last year and there were a lot of developments just the last few months of last year, and as recently as a month ago. It's extremely heartbreaking what his poor parents have gone through, and so frustrating to see how the system has treated them and has failed not just them, but everyone.
Sorry for the length, but I really do think Admin and others will be interested in this. Read the article I linked to above and then set your timers to record it. I'd love to hear what Admin and others think about it.

I live near the city in Wis on the Miss. River where several drownings happened. I am torn between serial killer and accidental though. I know the park where they went in. I have gone there since I was a kid. It would be easy for them to just fall in if really drunk. But it was so many of them it is suspicious. About 10 in 20 yrs. I remember watchiing for news they had been found alive.
They now have a volunteer group of people who walk down in that area and watch for disoriented people so they can help them stay safe.
I can't record so may or may not catch future episodes. I hope I can.

Yes, it was stupid but she had so many opportunities on her own she could have pursued. I personally never thought she was a great cook but she could have expanded on that, or her "great" organizational abilities she claimed to have. I think she was to busy seeing the $$ signs in her eyes when Discovery first introduced their contract. If they had taken the time to read it and seen that they were bound to Discovery hook, line and sinker things might have turned out different. I watched the show because it was cute at first but then her true colors came out. She became more and more ugly to Jon and I actually felt sorry for the guy. I couldn't understand why someone would treat their significant other like she did especially when he actually did things. We never saw on screen him coming home and plopping on the couch and saying, "I have worked all day I am not bathing the kids, you have been home all day you do it".
Anyway, I have gotten off topic. My point being there were plenty of opportunities to forge ahead without the kids if she had been a little nicer. Heck, look at all the opportunities she had not being nice, Dancing with the Stars, The View, The Apprentice, The Emmy's ect..........

Kate had more opportunities dropped in her lap than most people will ever get. The only reason she has not made the most of those opportunities and expanded her "brand" is sheer laziness. She. Is. Lazy. She never wanted to work hard, so she never put in the effort necessary to be successful at anything. It was easier for her to just sit around and wait for the TLC cameras to show up at her door. She could have done other TV projects but didn't put in the effort. She got to be on DTWS and made a fool of herself because she was too lazy to practice. She could have worked to improve her public speaking skills but she was too lazy for that. Same for designing her children's clothing line, promoting businesses or products, running, and blogging. If they took too much effort, she was done. Instead she sits at home, complains about how hard it is to be a mother, and cries poor. Lazy, lazy, lazy woman.
Kate has had it too easy. She’s had the backing of TLC for too long. They supported her and tried to improve her image during the divorce. Her brand was powered by a team of lawyers. She was well protected in every way. I think the old magazine article that spoke about Kate eating out at Nobu, said it all.
Kate was holed up in some luxury hotel in NYC with an entourage of people. These VIP’s, including Steve, were working hard to craft her image as the poor struggling mom. But their queen was getting frustrated with all the talk and wanted to eat at Nobu. They were driving her around the city, with the paps following close behind. Kate kept teasing them from outside of her window.
Fast forward to now. No paps, no entourage, TLC is no longer promoting her, Steve may or may not be around, and the media is no longer interested in interviewing her.
She had everyone eating out of her hands. And now, crickets
Talking about the wall, I have to add my opinion based on my ancestry. My great-grandparents on both sides were immigrants from Germany and Poland in the earlt 1900's. They were not welcome, faced prejudice, started at the bottom of the working ladder shoeling manure or cleaning buildings afte they closed. But they made a life for themselves and eventuallu had families that they raised to believe in the American dream.
I have close friends and neighbors that came into this country from El Salvador and they are good people and hard workers. They wanted a better life for their family which is why immigrants starting coming here centuries ago. That's how we became the great country we are today because we all the children of immigrants who wanted a better life.
I am against the wall, not just because I dislike Trum[ immensely, but because he "cherry picks" the illegal alien stories to prove his point. With the exception of Fox news, the other outlets have stated repeatedly that the less than 3% of murders are committed by illegals, more than 97% are xommitted by non-illegala, namely American citizens.
My heart goes out to the families wanting asylum here. I know what my neighbors told me about El Salvador.
By the way, my husband's grandfather fled Germany in the mid 20th century to get away from the Hitler regime. He could not get into America through Ellis Island, so he went to Canada and snuck inyo America. He later became a citixen and his whole life was a productive citizen and raised his children to appreciate all this great country has to offer. The same as my friends from El Salvador.

Love mygrandsons a wall doesn’t prevent good people from coming here, it makes it much safer by making port of entries the only realistic option. This is much, much safer for everyone especially children and anyone ailing or not strong. Crossing illegally has always been extremely dangerous and even deadly. If people are selling this wall as it keeps out good people that is frankly just incorrect.
As far as only a small number of crimes being committed by aliens um shouldn’t that be zero? And what’s the objection to deporting illegals for good when they commit crimes? We don’t even do that consistently and people have died as a result. People’s children aren’t a percentage especially when it’s so easily preventable.
Has anyone seen stats for how many illegals come here and rape kids who end up in foster care as a result? One is too many for me but I’ve seen that hundreds of times and that’s just me seeing it on my caseload! What about that?
Also my ancestry is second generation Italians straight from Ellis Island (we still have the ship manifest, a family treasure) so it’s not like people who don’t have good reasons to be for it just don’t understand how immigrants have shaped this country. I was bored so I did some digging. Their school has annual science projects up to the 8th grade. The twins are older, so they aren’t participating. Also the school had a pipe burst and there is a “possible” asbestos contamination. The school is closed as a precaution till the situation is under control. They have something called cyber school days where students can learn their lessons online. It still begs the question, what does Kate do with herself while the kids are in school?
Once again, TFW can't hide her disdain for academics. School is just a stupid building that keeps you from sleeping in, or lounging by the pool. She thinks it's a cause for celebration that she won't be stuck helping her kids with their projects anymore? What kind of role model is she? How will they succeed in high school if they adopt her attitude of indifference towards education?
I can imagine another type of mom writing a post like this: "It's science project time, and my kids are amazing me with their hard work, creativity, and terrific ideas!"

Oh dear, I have a feeling Kendra Wilkinson is going to steal Kate's idea for a dating/boyfriend-type show. She's been photographed with some guy who was on The Bachelorette. She's a fame ho who would do anything to stay on TV (just like Kate), so I'm betting there will be cameras there to document this new "relationship". The fact that the guy is also a reality TV alum says it all. Fortunately for Kendra, she is younger, prettier, and far more likeable than Kate, so she will probably be able to get a season out of this. Of course, her ratings aren't very good, but she has a much better chance of pulling it off than Kate. Expect a new show announcement in 3...2...1.

I've never bought TFW's phony complaints about school being such an inconvenience to her. For years, she's complained on Twitter and Instagram that it's such a drag because they have to get up early in the morning and there's homework and projects to do. Every summer she posts about being so happy they can sleep in now and have tons of free time, and then she complains when the school year starts again.
I think she's totally full of it. She posts this stuff as part of her big phony act. She LOVES when they're in school all day and out of her hair. She has the house all to herself nine to ten hours a day, and has very little to do. She loves it. Don't buy her b.s. It's all an act.

Doing PR for Mommie Dearest just doesn't seem like it would be high up on her to-do list. Maybe a new car for graduation is in the equation -- who knows. Then again, we've seen that M and C have been good and well parentified for more than a decade, so perhaps this type of support for her mom sincerely feels like an obligation to M.

I can't see anything because I'm not on IG, but I agree that no 17-year-old is wrapped up in their mother. I'm always pleased when my boys mention me on social media (only on Mother's Day or when I raise their allowances), but other than that it's all about themselves, their friends, their lives. Mady never mentions or posts pictures with friends. Just her mom and siblings and dogs. Very weird for an 18-year-old.

As if the Fake Date with Khate show is so top secret that TFW isn't at liberty to disclose why the premiere has been pushed back at least several months and she can't give any indication of the new expected date.

I think you're right. After looking at some of the other comments, I think the first half of Barb's comment is in response to all the comments made about TFW sending Collin away, not showing up to the custody hearing, and Jon now having custody of Collin and Hannah.
Then, Barb turns to the Fake Date with Khate show because there were also some comments and questions about that. I still think it's ridiculous for her to say when TFW can let people know about the show, she will. We've never seen such secrecy about reality shows except from TFW. That's probably because the show is either dead or TLC is still stringing her along and she doesn't know if it will ever air or when. I still think it's strange, (and stupid), to ignore your social media for months if you're about to have a new show hit the air soon. Which, again, leads me to believe the show is dead.

Well I just saw a commercial and Mama June From Not To Hot is coming back in March. Things like that mist really get to TFW since she can’t even get an air date for her fake date show.
TFW’s Mode of operation is to tease and wink if she knows something is coming. If she’s been called out or exposed for her true vileness, she runs for cover or deflects to stupid dog pictures. If she’s ignoring questions about her fake date show, then my guess is it’s dead in the water but she’s in the process of threatening to sue TLC regarding the show. We all know she and her ratclaws boyfriend won’t let that boat sink without being Jack and Rose standing at the tippy top of that ship before it plunges into the ocean.
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I posted, but I just had to tell you about this 90-minute documentary I just watched on Netflix! Has anybody seen "Abducted in Plain Sight"? If you haven't seen it, you really have to see it! It's the creepiest documentary I've ever seen! The story is about Jan Broberg, 12 year old girl abducted TWICE by a family friend and neighbor back in the 70's. I can't remember the last time I saw something which affected me so deeply. The story is full of twists and turns involving mind games, brain washing by this twisted sick pedophile. My jaw dropped open over and over again watching this show. I'm getting upset all over again just thinking about it. Oh my gosh, please watch it and come back here to discuss. I'd love to hear if it affected you like it did me.
Sometimes the willful ignorance takes my breath away. I still can't believe how successful K8's shtick has been for all these years.

I use to be a Kate fan, during the Jon and Kate days- however, my feelings changed towards Kate when she started to become obsessed with fame and money. However, with that being said- we do not know why Kate did not show up for court. Maybe Kate felt it was in Colins best interest not to put him in the middle of a custody battle. Maybe Kate knew that Colin preferred to be with his dad, just like Hannah does. That would be difficult for any mother to accept. I do not think it is fair that Kate is being bashed over the school project post. I think we should give her some credit for removing herself from the spotlight and spending quality time with her children. Lets give her credit where credit is do please. If Kate is removing herself and her children from the spotlight and from TV, she now has to come up with a way to support her family.

I just watched it, too! Unbelievable how manipulative the guy was, and how he came up with all of his various ruses is textbook sociopath. I mean, can you imagine the amount of planning and prep that went into this? I was repulsed, horrified, and shocked at the twists and turns, right up until the end.

It's irritating that so many people are so blinded by TFW that they make things up to try to give her the benefit of the doubt. She did not remove herself from the spotlight to spend quality time with her children. In July 2017, when the last episode of K+8 aired, she said she hoped there would be a new season airing in the fall. So she didn't even pretend that she wanted to give the kids a break. She wanted make those kids work as much as she could get away with. Heck, if she had it all her way, they'd still be filming 40+ episodes per year. She's out of the spotlight, but that's not by her own choice. When has she ever turned down an interview, an opportunity to film, or a photo shoot? Never. I think she even misses the paps, even though she pretended that she hated having them around. In fact, she pretended they were still hounding her long after they were gone (except for maybe Chris, although he's long gone now, too). Face it, her glory days are over, and it's not by her choice.
Kirkland (148) Like you, my jaw was hanging open through most of this show. Not just because of the creep, but the parents! Oh my, could anyone really be that naive? So creepy and so, so sad. That whole family will forever suffer.
