Thanks to anyone who endured this crapfest and shared your comments. The excitement and suspense of this party episode sound positively Emmy-worthy.

Leslie (#199), hey, it's okay there weren't aunts, uncles and grandparents at this momentous occasion. They didn't know how to help Mom any more, so they were kicked to the curb. But Mom's hairdresser and cereal-buying stalker were there, and that's way better than people who've known you your whole life. Because Mom can still use them for stuff, and get rid of them later, and replace them with new shiny friends who can provide goods and services. It's the circle of life, narcissist-style.

BTW, when TFW tweeted that she couldn't wait for the hairdresser to visit them, you know she was thinking, "and give me and the girls a free blowout while you're here."

So I take it that this episode of Kate Plus 8 will not be considered for an Emmy Award?

Tucker's Mom, Gladys is lauding the G-rated party for the twins. Where was all her moral indignation when TFW got all glammed up for her bar date, drank before she even got there, had her foot licked by a stranger, and woke up hung over? All of which is preserved on film for her daughters to watch?

Not that any of that was utter debauchery, but, c'mon. That's why you had to laugh when TFW played coquette on her date with Vann, saying she didn't want to kiss him and have her kids watch it later. Maybe she would've been more comfortable if he'd just ripped her shoe off and slurped away.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

So what happens when the tups turn 16? Do the 3 girls get a fancy party, while Brownie supervises the 16-year-old boys at a Lego table? Hopefully the show will be over long before then, so TFW won't care much what she does.

I would definitely say Jon made mistakes, but I wouldn't say he failed his kids.

Kate is diabolical in her quest for fame and money. Kate was empowered by TLC when she and Jon first separated. Jon made stupid mistakes that cost him his image which empowered Kate even more.

Kate is able to brainwash some of her children. She's able to alienate their father from him. Her finances gave her leverage that Jon didn't have when it came to lawyers and court fees.

Jon stopped the filming of husband children for as long as he could. Apparently the court is favoring the mother. He's apparently still trying. What he's up against we can only imagine. I don't think it's fair to say that he failed his children. Four of the children have been able to see their father through their own eyes instead of their mother's. Seeing him with the four kids tells us that he is doing his best for them. He didn't just choose four of the eight kids. I think the fact that TLC actually showed Kate asking the kids who is going to Daddy's proves Kate is controlling the situation.

He wants all eight kids during his custody but Kate is somehow controlling them in such a way that he isn't able to connect with them. Mady is brainwashed for sure. Cara seems lost. Mady probably brainwashes her along with Kate. We now know Collin has been isolated from everyone. Alexa is a mystery. I can't even image what the situation is there that she stays with Kate rather than go with Jon. I can't imagine the frustration Jon has been going through trying to see his kids legally. The system does not always work. Other than kidnapping his children and becoming a fugitive on the run he seems to be trying to fight for them.

Jon made mistakes that probably cost him more than he realized, but I think he always loved his children and just expected to be able to see them whenever he wanted and had custody. I don't think he realized just how diabolical Kate was until after the divorce.

Guess TLC would not spring for a car for the twins, LOL. The John Deere Gator driving is humorous. The twins must have been embarrassed and from what I read, they managed to not drive it well, which was a set up because Kate just happened to have cones and they've driven the Gator before. Mady was pictured driving it with the tups in the bed. Yep, so so funny to have Mady drive over the cones.

CC said...

Ooops. "Husband children" should be "his children." :D

Sad but true said...

So Ronnie/Ken, the "guncle," is the one responsible for the Goldilocks hair? And he's also the latest hanger-on to ingratiate himself with the kids. Interesting.

TLC stinks said...

Wow, so it rained. You move the party to the basement where you can grill out under the covered patio. People are stupid to think the party wasn't planned for that other place in advance. Didn't someone say it seemed like it was filmed during the summer? They must have filmed the set up for the party on a rainy day so there would be an excuse to showcase Kate's quick skills in reorganizing the party, LOL.

The salmon thing I don't get. Poor editing? Change of menu apparently because you do not precook to grill salmon patties. Nothing but continuity issues all this season. And not everyone likes salmon so I would not serve that to a bunch of teens.

No tongue flicking this time?? Of course, I saw a photo where she was making her sad, crying face. The tongue flicking was involuntary but her crying face is fake, fake, fake. I've actually seen her truly emotional during a few interviews and she does not do that sad clown face.

I must admit, I am intrigued by the appearance of Brownie in last night's episode. How was this arranged? Kate's been ignoring her on Twitter for at least four years. And why do I suspect that Brownie's utility to Kate might lie in a future ghostwriting assignment. She could be the next Beth. What a weirdo.

"They thanked me for days, and days, and days afterward"

********************************************************************************

Really? I highly doubt it.

^^^^

First of all I also doubt they said that. But this is another thing where even if they did, I don't find it healthy. Why, if they did say this, do they have a need to shower Kate with overwhelming gratitude? Do they feel she needs the emotional boost? Do they fear if they don't exaggerate she will find them ungrateful? If your kids are saying that day after day, at a certain point a good parent will say honey I know you are thankful for the party, I appreciate it, but you don't need to thank me more than once. I did it because I love you, you are thanks enough.

I also am scratching my head over serving salmon burgers to teens. You're lucky if half of them even want to try it. I don't have a problem with putting something unique out there, but give them options. Do a salmon, veggie, and regular burger, and chances are almost everyone will find something to eat they like. This is basic party planning that someone who has all day to percolate about this should know.

The kids are +/- 16. What parent would allow drinking? C'mon.

&&&&

Snorted my orange juice.

Another reason I don't believe Milo is a parent. She hears some news story about a wild teen party and thinks that's the norm.

My god, of COURSE there was no drinking and wild partying at a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD'S birthday party, not with mom there at least! If any of that goes on after the parents' party, a 16 year old makes sure the parents don't find out.

This reminds me of Chris Rock's hilarious standup. He's talking about African Americans, but he jokes about how black men brag they support their kid, or haven't been to jail. He's like you're SUPPOSED to support your kid, you're SUPPOSED to stay out of jail!!!

Milo is bragging that Kate didn't let her kids drink or have a wild party. That's what she's SUPPOSED to do. Geez!

kris said...

My favorite part was when Kate looked directly at the camera (when she was all stressed out) and said something to the effect of 'contrary to popular belief, I have NO help, no cleaning lady, no babysitter, it's just me!' Oh, ok Kate, then why do you have friggen notes EVERYWHERE, including on your washing machine that says to not remove Kate's clothes from the machine. If it was for the kids wouldn't you refer to yourself as mom, not Kate?

Another major editing mistake was all of the prep was supposedly done on party day. Yet she had several changes of clothes. First whatever she was wearing early during her first freakout. Then she changed to go over to the venue. Then back at the house to finish up before party time she had another different shirt on and finally the dress she wore to the party. Obviously no one cares to cover these obvious errors.

Also, she claims on party day she made the arrangements to move the party, thus excluding the little ones. Yet she had time to call the ice cream truck to come out and have a little thing with the little kids and arrange for a babysitter (wait Kate, didn't you say you didn't have a babysitter?) to come, fully equipped with craft projects for them to make for the girls as presents? Boy talk about someone who can get things done! *snark*

The parentification was running rampant in this episode! Yes there were lots of Kate-Mady hugs but they were all instigated by Kate. Mady was not running over to mommy hugging her. Mady would hug Kate back as she was having to coddle her mother who kept crying and acting like she was shipping the girls overseas, never to be seen again. *eyeroll*

The girls did seem to enjoy themselves once the party started but that's because they were with their friends. Oh and who the heck wants to go to a party and watch 2 friggin dvd's of baby videos? Even the girls said they'd wished she'd included footage of when they were like 3, lol. Of course anything after 3 is documented by TLC. But how boring to watch for the party goers. Yawn.

Remember, she's 12.

Milo does not have kids. No parent would even think of serving alcohol to underage kids. It's illegal. Why such a ridiculous comment? Only a person who hasn't a clue would say that. Also the mention of provocative dancing...sounds like a male's comment.

And that photo Milo posted? Totally not her/him. Milo has gone to great lengths to remain anonymous in her postings of photos, so why such a reveal? I'm with Admin that Milo is a catfish. Milo wanted to prove she is a mother and that tells me Milo is not.

Thinking back a few years when Brownlow was very active on Kate's Twitter. I remember her running a website for teens and preteens and trying VERY hard to ingratiate herself to Kate. Almost begging for attention to the point of running to stores and buying groceries for her. And there was an incident with a child molester who was somehow involved with her website? Am I remembering correctly? There were non fans who discovered this and made it known. Brownlow disappeared soon after.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The provocative dancing comment is even weirder. Who is thinking about 16 year old girls provocatively dancing? Huh? Why would this thought even enter your mind at some juvenile birthday party with other immature 16 year olds? They're not turning tricks on Hollywood and Vine with all the other runaway 16 year old drug addicts. My God.

Again, she watches the news, and thinks she has a clue how the average 16 year old is.

I think Milo is full blooded female, but a lesbian.

From K8's FB:

XXXXX Wow ! I have no idea how you think this woman is a good mom. Her kids are a reflection of her and by watching this show you can see how they act even knowing there on tv can' t stop them from there rude bratty behavior! I have 5 kids all grown up now not one would talk to an adult or anyone that way . I taught them respect and how to behave. I didn't have to scream or buy them anything they wanted ! We had little to none as they grew up but I gave them the tools they neededneeds to be a responsible and loving adults! And the kids don't know she's a great mom because she's not that's reason her own kids do nothing but criticize her!!!! They have no respect for her at all just as she had none for her husband or anyone for that matter! Action reflects leadership!

XXXXX You do realize it's edited for ratings- you aren't seeing the real family don't you?

And that's it in a nutshell: You don't think you're seeing the REAL family, do you? The hat trick is complete, the "realest reality" is now accepted by viewers as not real at all, but that's okay, it's entertainment!

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: The kids should really be SAG members and receiving the benefits associated with being in a union, not the crumbs that TLC and their mother deign to throw them.

I'm not sure the guy was involved with her website, but he might have been someone who was involved with a youth program of some kind that she promoted. And she posted a photo or write-up on her site of an activity that her group did with him or his group. From there, someone discovered that the guy was being indicted for child molestation. And that's when she took everything on that site down and closed up shop. I can't remember the name of the group, but I think it included butterflies (lol).

Maybe she's got another teen-girl group going now. I do know that since that incident, she has churned out at least 4 or 5 of these young adult/teen angst-type paperbacks. Here's her bio from Amazon:

Biography
VOTED one of the TOP 25 DEBUT AUTHORS of 2013
Michelle Kemper Brownlow likes her music loud and prefers live concerts but will happily settle for the eclectic playlists on her iPhone. This Penn State grad and former high school art teacher is easily distracted by colorful art supplies and Eddie Vedder's voice. When she's not in her studio writing, she can be found putting off housework for a good romance novel that has her heart pounding and tears flowing. She is married to her very own "Jake" and is mom to three fantastic humans, a black lab and a Chinchilla named Wodney.

My debut series was complete June 10, 2014 when ABOVE THE NOISE was published.

So Kate doesn't know how to check the weather for her area? Yeah, right.

You can do a 5 day forecast, 3 day forecast, next day forecast. It gives you the "percentage" chance of rain and even for each hour of the next 24 hours. I can't believe she expects her fans to believe she didn't know it was going to rain. Although a lot of them are stupid, so maybe.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

Kris (#19), thanks for the rundown on some of the ridiculousness that ensued on the episode! Yes, I'm sure it's easy-breezy to schedule a last-minute ice cream truck in PA in October! And how lucky Brownie happened to be free, and with plenty of glue guns in her glove compartment!

I'm assuming when TFW said she has no help, she wasn't struck by lightning. How many different versions of that have we heard over the years? I'd love to see a compilation of clips and tweets. She's one crazy salmonburger.

It may have been through their church, I don't remember. In all fairness, she was friends with him before he was charged.

Recap soon, please!

I did not ever follow the Brownie thing but once again it appears Aunt Deanna has been tossed aside for a new hairdresser just like Beth was tossed aside as a ghostwriter. I would think Jon would be concerned Kate allows a Twitter fan to ingratiate herself inside the family. I mean, who in their right mind does this kind of thing?

Forget about the twins or just Mady writing a book with the help of a ghostwriter! Kate believes she is a best selling author, LOL. I foresee a book coming out about raising EIGHT teenagers. You watch. Now Brownie can be sucked into Kate's narcissist world and then kicked to the curb when the publishing company writes a check. It makes sense if the show is on TLC's chopping block. Kate has to keep her face out there. Hell, there's no doubt she contacted Brownie months with an offer.

Who knows if the twins had a private birthday party or not? Excellent chance that party was not filmed on their birthday. That's the way TLC has always done their special days and holidays.

I feel for Cara. So humiliating. What is going on if she still participates in filming but it's obvious she intensely dislikes it? It's a question Jon should be asking because there must be intimidation of some type. Most normal 16 year olds would just say NO and that would be it. Why and how is this kid being forced?

Mel said...

I was actually embarrassed for the twins.
That was the most pathetic party.

A random bunch of kids, who didn't appear to know each other. They didn't even appear to be friends with the twins all that much.

They didn't appear to be into the party all that much either. They just stood around with stunned looks on their faces as TFW ranted about god knows what and the twins shouted back at her.

You could almost feel the kid guests thinking...holy sh*t! I could never talk to my parent like that! I've never seen anything like this! This is horrible to watch, not fun. I don't even want to see this. I had no idea their life was like this! Get me out of here!

And their mom who couldn't even stay out of it. She had to join in like she was one of them.

Most parents would fade into the background for the kid party. Let them do their thing. The parent might be more visible at the family party...you know, the one with aunts, uncles, cousins. But this wasn't the family party. This was the kid party.

And then that stupid hair dresser shows up. Can you get any more awkward than that???

Mel (#56), and the reason some of the guests probably looked shell-shocked is because there was a g.d. FILM CREW over their shoulders the entire time! TFW may pretend to "forget cameras often!," but your average person isn't really jazzed to have that kind of intrusion in a social setting.

It's one thing if it was just a bunch of kids goofing around at a party, and one of them was running around with a Go Pro getting silly comments. But to have a TLC camera person and a light person and a boom mike person and a director and several production assistants -- all huddled into your party space? Hoping you'll act natural? Sounds like a fun killer to me.

Why and how? They've been brainwashed to believe that "All this will go away if we don't film." The kids are human. They like their house, school and perks (vacations). Didn't Mady once say that when they weren't filming they just sat around and stared at the walls.

Bingo! I remember a few years ago Kate was talking about writing some book about kids (I think) and I even posted here that I thought she was going to team up with Brownie. Brownie is now a writer herself. So perhaps they will team up. With Kate's dismal book sales of her last TWO books who would publish it.

My god, of COURSE there was no drinking and wild partying at a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD'S birthday party, not with mom there at least! If any of that goes on after the parents' party, a 16 year old makes sure the parents don't find out.

Admin 24 said.....The provocative dancing comment is even weirder.

That was a DIRECT quote from Kate, who said in either earlier in some episode (I think when Jon was still on) or in an interview. And I'm sure Mady's heard it many many times growing up.

She said she wrote that blog post in jest back in 2009 but she is definitely a Kate sheeple. I vote instead for Kate USING HER to ghostwrite a book because Kate CANNOT write, let alone speak coherently. I think Brownie may be too busy with her writing career to invest any time in a reality show. Now that she has entangled herself with Kate, give it a few years before she will disappear too.

Stupid fans think Collin will be back for the finale. If he is there, it was filmed in the spring. He ain't home, people.

Read Facebook comments regarding the show. Overwhelming majority are disgusted with Kate and Mady and many changed the channel. Normal moms don't act like a psycho and daughters do not roll eyes and talk rude to adults. I don't know why TLC and Kate have taken the crazy train with this show.

She must have meant this is why we (and who is "we" anyway?) don't do parties where I have do the work. Cuz I ain't gonna be caught dead doing any work.

As in, usually the extravagant parties are put on by production. I just have to show up and pretend like I did it all, by myself.

I watched the documentary Grey Gardens on TV the other day, and I could totally see that happening with Kate and Mady. Cara seems really to fly the coop right now, but Mady...well, Mady has always said she wants to be on TV, she wants to "perform", etc. As long as the cameras are at Mommy's house, then that's where she'll stay. And, just like Little Edie, she'll need to take care of poor, abandoned Mommy. Eventually they end up hunkered down in their decaying mansion, resenting all the opportunities they think they missed. Sounds mean to say it, but it would not surprise me.

Jamesvader1194 is right--if the girls and their guests were drinking or partying or "dancing provocatively" would they really do it in from of the cameras? Umm, the answer would be no. Who knows what went on after the crew left, but it's just stupid to think that they would act that way in front of the cameras.

Spit all you want, but I've never known a single parent in my entire life who serves alcohol at a 16 year old's birthday party especially with other people's children there. That's just outrageous. You've got to be joking. That's not to say it's never happened but it's not the norm and out here you get arrested for such a thing. You just don't do that. Now, 19-20 year olds MAYBE if you know they'll do it anyway and you'd rather they be safe under your watch, but 16 is insane. Those other parents should have her thrown in jail if she even dreamt of it. I'd throw a fit.

The bigger point is Milo is falling all over herself to praise Kate for what she is supposeddddd to do as a responsible parent. That's just stupid.

Comments are coming fast and furious this morning - I can barely keep up. Couple of points: 1. Kate kept asking Mady if she liked something when they were shopping online and at the party store because she knew TLC would pay for it. She squealed and clapped her hands like a three year-old when they found the lighted letters - I bet she through a K in there along with the M & C. 2. Kate was drinking wine at the party so Milo's theory is out the window. Nothing wrong with adults having wine at a kids party but it was there. 3. Continuity was way off as everyone has said. Pink shirt and greasy hair during the panic scene. Clean hair and grey shirt when they were "decorating" the restaurant (what decorating? Table cloths, placemats and napkin rings - big f'in deal. And I'm sure that one of the kids at the part asked Mady to decorate her room - yeah, sure) then back to greasy hair and pink shirt for more freak outs. The freak out had to be filmed on another day - probably after the party. 4. Why should the kids thank Kate profusely for the party? They (Mady) planned it, TLC paid for it - all Kate did was make lousy pre cooked salmon patties and the restaurant provided the other platters of food. My head is going to explode.

Uh, that sounds quite trashy to me. Not to mention that the party was being FILMED for the public to view. Does Milo really think that was an option anyway? If any parents are serving alcohol to 16-year-olds and promoting suggestive dancing, I gather the parents are trash. Who wants their kids hanging out with trash like that?

Kids sneaking alcohol is a different story, but that's not what Milo suggested. She was proud that Kate didn't throw one of those "wild" Sweet 16 parties. LOL. Maybe she expected it to be like Kate's, complete with alcohol, foot licking, and hangovers.

Also, when my kid was in middle school I heard parents behind us talking about their not much older kids and letting them and their friends drink at home because "they will do it anyway and at least they are safe". I was floored. And, it seems to happen more with the affluent kids.

My thought, too. It's beyond obvious by now that Cara is giving the silent F-U to filming and maybe even her mother. It's beyond obvious this isn't shyness, but a silent protest which is the only thing in her power to do.
And I'll bet it pisses Kate off to see Cara's obvious disdain for filming in the episodes.
It's like Cara's saying, "You might make me film, but you can't make me speak if I don't want to".

Yes, I also wonder what Kate does to make Cara get in front of the cameras and sit on the couch. Clearly, she does not want to be there.

I noticed Mady said she doesn't need a license because she doesn't go anywhere but to school. Cara said she doesn't need one because she only goes to lacrosse and wouldn't be allowed to drive there anyway.

So the "driving" was just part of a storyline for the show. It's kind of sad that the kids have no desire to get their license. And kids should learn early even if you don't want them driving. The earlier you learn the better driver you are later on. And I mean take lessons and drive with a responsible adult. I don't mean so you can drive around just to drive around.

Mady also said she will never drive a car with Kate in it.

Those kids obviously love their mother because she's their mother, but they clearly can't stand her. All they all do is bash her. They have NO respect for her either. Even the boys talk bad about her, although they are more polite about it and only when asked by the crew specifically it seems.

I think Cara does as much of the show as she does because Mady wants her to. She and Mady are close and I'm sure Mady wants her there even if it's just to have her there. I think Mady is a big influence on what Cara does or doesn't do.

I just wanted to say that I watched the show last night and it was ridiculous. I kept wanting to change the channel but never did, I also was sort of hoping it would get better, but it didn’t. I leave my tv on while I fall asleep and I was still waiting for it to happen so her show came on again but this time I wasn’t watching just listening and one of the things I notice (which when watching I saw and heard it but didn’t connect fully until just listening…. Cara was saying she didn’t even really want a party and would be happy if they didn’t and then Kate goes on to babble about see!!!! They make it where I feel I have to make it great for them and can’t let them down!!!!!!! Gees if she were listening how is not wanting a party setting her up to let them down??? Just don’t have a party! And OMG when they were in the store and saw the letters “C” “&” “M” the way she was gasping and squealing (how she describes her kids do all the time) She is a nut case and needs to be locked up she was equivalent to acting like a 3 year old! I saw a bit last night - crappy party for a 16 yr old. Is there a reason the girls couldn't be there on their own with their friends for a few hours? Oh yeah - no camera time for Kate! It was babyish and boring. And yes, that hairdresser should of have been embarrassed to be there. He came all the way from New York for that? Thrilling.

As for the drinking part, they are at the age where they would probably try if given the opportunity, but obviously the opportunity wasn't available then, nor should it be.

20 yr olds drinking? Why shouldn't they? I believe in most of the world, the legal age is either 18 or 19 years old.

Anonymous said...

The meltdown Kate had was very dramatic and unecessary. Really it's just to garner up more drama that isn't really there or necessary. I remember in one of the newer seasons (I think it was the episode where they had that photoshoot) you can hear Cara telling Kate "you're so dramatic when they're filming" or something along those lines. I just feel like Kate isn't as over the top as people think or she wants people to think.

Not all the kids were their friends. Two were twins that "knew Mady and Cara before they were born" because the moms were in same Lamaze class.

So she invited these kids that her kids don't know, along with their parents that Kate said she hasn't seen in ages, to a party that their own siblings couldn't attend because there was "not enough room" for them. They also weren't invited back to the house after for the fire pit on the deck. And when they left Kate barely said a good-bye. I don't get why she invited them. What was the point? They added nothing to the storyline. Unless Kate thought they would because they knew each other in the womb. ???

CC said...

Mel,

I think the kids acted like preschoolers because since they were toddlers they weren't allowed to have fun around Kate. She wasn't there to yell at them and they reverted back to their preschooler behavior.

I was kind of embarrassed for them to be seen acting like that. One boy was also biting the other boy's arm while being dragged around chanting something about nibbling on his arm. He did it while Mady was talking to the cameras and they walked past twice.

That's another thing, they talk to the cameras! I guess most people have caught onto the lack of reality in reality tv shows, so they don't bother acting like the cameras aren't there.

So apparently all the real birthday parties are only done for the sextuplets because they are the money-makers. Kate was waiting for a milestone birthday, like Sweet Sixteen to throw them an actual party with their friends.

And poor Kate stayed up many nights to put that together... Uh, yeah. Kate is a twit,

I don't know. TLC describes that episode as "Kate takes Mady and Cara and their two best friends, who are also sisters, to visit and bake with the stars of TLC's DC..."

It doesn't say they are twins, just sisters, but maybe. And best friends? Didn't seem it at their Sweet 16.

But at least one of the girls, Cara I think, seemed surprised to hear the Lamaze story. And Kate said to their mother that it's been way too long since she's seen her.

Maybe the girls are friends but Kate has nothing to do with the mom, even though Kate says they bonded because they both had twins. I guess she didn't serve a purpose for Kate.

I'm not sure. But I think they left with barely a goodbye. I don't have it to watch that part again. Does anyone else remember?

Maybe Kate's behavior seems off because she lacks empathy and acts out what she thinks is appropriate with all the wailing and tears?

*************************************************************

If she keeps that up, SHE will be the next one institutionalized.

Shoot! Bite my tongue. It's not something to make light of- especially having to raise 7 (8 when C----- is released) children.

But damn it! If this is the way that she behaves with the cameras ON, how does she behave with the cameras OFF?

Her kids are exposed to that kind of behavior, and probably presume that it is a normal that their mother behaves like an impetuous child. It's become a horror show. Kate is quickly loosing her shizz, and the same camera that is filming that mess, will be the filmed evidence that will be used to take her kids away.

Pray for C-----. My heart breaks for him.
It must be positively frightening for him to be far from his family, and surrounded by doctors and other patients.

My dad is so emotional. He literally starts crying over an episode of Kate Plus 8. 😂😂😂 @Kateplusmy8

Why is he "literally" crying? He feels sorry for the kids? He's emotionally invested in them for what reason? He can't believe they are growing up? He's upset because of the way Kate treats them and the never really had normal childhoods? He's sad because the episodes are nearly over and there will be no more Gosselins for his viewing and entertainment pleasure?

Geez.

It was a simple party. And if that's what the twins wanted, I'm glad that's what they got. (Cara saying she didn't want a party nothwithstanding.)

I noticed Mady said she doesn't need a license because she doesn't go anywhere but to school. Cara said she doesn't need one because she only goes to lacrosse and wouldn't be allowed to drive there anyway.

So the "driving" was just part of a storyline for the show. It's kind of sad that the kids have no desire to get their license
*****
I kind of get it, but not for the reasons the twins gave.
I got my license at 18 (or late 17) and wasn't chomping at the bit to get it asap.
First, my parents didn't have Goldilocks cars. Next, we lived near public transit, I used to bike all over God's creation and my circle of friends included drivers with cars.
My reasons had NOTHING to do with not needing transport because I did nothing.
That Mady said she doesn't want her license because she's got nowhere she wants to go or maybe can go?
Sad.
And where does Cara play lacross that she wouldn't be permitted to drive there?
Oh well. For whatever reasons, we knew darn well Kate wasn't going to encourage, or maybe even allow, the twins to drive.
The farce of putting cones out to tool around in the Gator was just foolish.
What a dog and pony show.
TLC should be ashamed by this total sham.

Here is the Blasting News article that posted today.

Kate Gosselin forced to give kids to Jon Gosselin but son Colin still MIA on 'Kate Plus 8'.

Court orders reality TV mom of 8 Kate Gosselin to surrender kids to dad after child abuse probe: Collin Gosselin still stuck in mental hospital.

"Kate Plus 8" Kate Gosselin forced to surrender kids to Jon Gosselin Source: Wikimedia.

"Kate Plus 8" Kate Gosselin forced to surrender kids to Jon Gosselin.

Ex-reality television dad Jon Gosselin finally got to spend time with a few of his eight kids--but not without a fight.

After multiple child abuse charges, his estranged wife Kate Gosselin was court-ordered to surrender the children to their dad. But there's still no word on 12-year-old sextuplet Collin Gosselin.

The boy was sent by his mother, without his father's consent or knowledge, to a "special school" that turned out to be a mental hospital. Collin's still MIA in family pictures and on Gosselin's "#Kate Plus 8" reality TV show.

Kate Gosselin made to share custody of kids.

After the parents of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" divorced, Kate was awarded custody of the couple's children. They share a set of twins and a set of sextuplets. The raising of them formed the basis of the parents' reality show. Mom got primary (but not sole) custody because she was "working" and dad wasn't.

Kate's "job" consisted of being a reality TV mom. Jon was granted visitation rights which his ex-wife didn't honor. Gosselin has rarely seen his kids, some not for years, and never all together. He only got to have four of his children for New Year's Eve BECAUSE THE JUDGE INTERVENED!

Kate Gosselin keeps mum on son, even with dad.

Jon Gosselin did get a little time with a few of his children on Thanksgiving. But the 16-year-old twins Mady and Cara Gosselin won't see their father and have publicly shamed him. Their mother applauds this and encourages their avoiding dad.

As for sextuplet Collin Gosselin, mom sent the tween to a mysterious facility for unspecified treatment of "anger issues" over the divorce. Dad was not aware of his being sent away from the family, nor given the chance to try to help his child.

So far, Collin has appeared in none of the latest "Kate Plus 8" episodes, and was excluded from his own birthday party and Christmas.

Kate Gosselin's show must go on.

So Kate's job is her TV show. But after the viciously acrimonious divorce, TLC pulled the plug on "Jon & Kate Plus 8" as it was no longer "family-friendly." Mrs. Gosselin worked tirelessly to persuade The Learning Channel to give her another show.

She dropped Jon from the show, but kept her married name, ostensibly because of its media pull and TV connections, and she's navigated child abuse charges made by Collin to staffers.

Kate bragged that she's been investigated many times yet still claims it's her ex-husband who is the problem. #KateGosselin

I know next to nothing about personality disorders. If Kate indeed is a narcissist, is it possible to be one, and also have issues with self-esteem? I thought narcissists, were self-centered with huge egos. Back in the day we called it conceited and snooty. It seems, though, from her recent tweets that she consistently needs to be reassured that she's the best Mommy on the planet, that she looks to her kids for guidance, comfort and reassurance, and really has problems with self-confidence.

Is that just an act to garner sympathy from her fans, or does a narcissist have problems with interaction with others and is socially awkward? I thought it was just the opposite.

Of course, this is Kate. We really don't know what mental health issues she has, but clearly there is something "off" there...big time.

I am reminded of Betty White's comment that looking at other people's vacation photos is punishment! The same is true for baby videos!

Speaking of Betty, why is it, sheeple, that one never reads negative or scathing comments about Betty? Could it be that she's a classy lady, one who is respectful, gracious, appreciative, humble, treats others with kindness and doesn't burn bridges? The Kate fans are of the opinion that tabloids and media are out to get Kate, and don't understand that there's a reason for this. It's all about how you treat others. What goes around, comes around, and being a witch certainly won't foster positive feelings or good publicity. Kate is her own worst enemy. She's done all of this to herself.

Susie Cincinnati said...

There are so many comments on social media and Kate's twitter from non-fans about Kate "sending Collin away." I wonder, though, if she really did that. Not knowing his issues or his 'special needs," is it possible that she had no choice, that he was removed from that home by CPS, or someone in authority? Could it be that his problems are severe enough that therapists, mental health professions, his pediatrician, all agreed that the only way to deal with his issues is to place him in an environment/facility that can best address his needs? In this case, it would seem that Kate had no choice but to follow their advice.

It's been my (unfortunate) experience with narcissists that they are usually racked with self-doubt and insecurity, which they would never admit. Since they can appear so confident and haughty people often assume that means they have a huge ego when it's precisely the opposite. It's a fake confidence. Their arrogance is a facade. People assume they are "egomaniacs", when they often have an extremely low self esteem and are quite fragile.

Is he aware of his mother's show, and how she's carrying on without him? 2 puppies back at home, his 12th birthday party was a blast-the best party ever-without him, vacations galore to places they've "always" wanted to go to and last but not least, his whole family grinning ear to ear on the front of People magazine.
With his freshly-minted and very sad departure emblazened on the front, where every schlub in the world read on their way out of the grocery store.
This is so depraved that if I didn't see it for myself, I'd never believe it.

As far as narcissists go, I happened to stumble across this interesting article just last night. There's a perfect quote about narcissism in it:

"According to the expert, 'it's like a disease where the sufferers feel pretty good, but the people around them suffer.'

There's a quiz to take, and I think TFW would score about a 35:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4084312/Quiz-reveals-narcissist.html

Are YOU a narcissist? Quiz reveals how your feelings about your body and a desire to be a leader could indicate if your ego is out of control

Even the most caring of people can be self-absorbed from time to time, but could an interest in how you look or desire to be in charge mean you're a narcissist?

The Narcissistic Personality Inventory test, was developed by US-based researchers Robert Raskin and Howard Terry to assess people's level of the trait for their psychological research.

According to their findings, those who score highly have characteristics such as being impulsive, aggressive and dominant as well as being hungry for power and believing they are 'special'.

The quiz consists of 40 questions about your behaviour towards others, your feelings about your own body and appearance and how you assess your position in the world - a follower or a leader.

The average American has a score of 15.5, and the quiz's authors say that 17 or above is 'flirting with narcissism'.

Actors have an average score of 18.45, while reality stars typically come in at 19.45. Violent offenders in prison tend to have a score of 23.

If both answers resonate, then choose the one you can relate to the most.

It should take only around five minutes to complete, and the closer your score is to 40, the more narcissistic you are.

Psychologists define narcissism as an 'inflated, grandiose self-image,' and it has persevered through the centuries as a personality trait and, in extreme cases, a psychological disorder.

Narcissists have a tendency to act selfishly, according to the lesson by W. Keith Campbell, and this can present itself in many different ways.

According to the expert, 'it's like a disease where the sufferers feel pretty good, but the people around them suffer.'

Political leaders or people of power may make risky or unethical decisions as a result of narcissism, while narcissistic partners could be unfaithful and dishonest.

As a personality trait, narcissism can appear in two forms: grandiose narcissism and vulnerable narcissism.

In both forms, however, 'the dark side of narcissism' will ultimately show up over time.

A much more extreme type of narcissism also exists, and it's classified as a psychological disorder.

Oh, yes, I agree, to a point but I really don't think she should comment about Collin. Let it be.

When Collin left, either sent away by Kate, or removed under protest, all filming should have stopped. You don't celebrate parties with one of them missing, or gleefully appear on the cover of the magazine, and you don't proclaim it the best birthday party ever. You just don't. You quietly make an exit and take care of the family, their needs, and be the parent that you should be, even if this means parenting classes, a psych evaluation, or whatever is necessary in healing yourself so that your kids can heal and get back whatever is left of their childhood and their privacy.

Kate is just too darn dumb to see it. Milo and the sheeple are her enablers. They praise her. This is what she wants to hear and it keeps her going, It's sad that the whole flock of these clueless fans don't realize the harm that is done to these kids, simply for their own amusement and entertainment. These immature, zealous fans continue to contribute to the dysfunction of this family.

Thanks for your reply, Former. Carrie Ann said that Kate has no self-awareness. Is this true of most narcissists? In the toy store episode, Kate said that she doesn't see other people. Is that because she's concerned only about herself, or because she's socially awkward?
