Not just you, they seem to be cramming everything, including the kitchen sink, into each episode. Meaning there's little or no cohesion or clear storyline except concepts such as "K8 + 8 Take Another Vacation, This Time with Puppies." And I don't watch, I'm just picking that up from clips and comments.

Nicky, same experience here but every kid reacts differently to meds. Side effects differ. Something was definitely off with Collin during the last year. Too quiet, he was definitely separated from the group. Would not be surprised there was some type of violent outburst and sometimes a kid has to be institutionalized but Kate acts like he never existed and is just away at "school" for his special needs. Not the case at these type of places. My daughter worked at such a facility.
The only person who still wants to do it is K8. So let Kate and Steve put on their thinking caps to come up with some scenario under which America might want to see K8 Gosselin on their TV screens on a regular basis---without the kids.

IIRC, there was at least one 'Kate only' show that was in production but it never aired. Her stint on DWTS became a joke. Her stint on CA was unremarkable. She was on a talk show panel but did not become a regular. She was fired from the Coupon company. Her cookbook is a distant memory. She doesn't keep up her website/blog. So I would say that she has already tried numerous things to stay on the the celeb D-List on her own. And she has failed hard. America has made it pretty clear that no one is interested in seeing Kate without the kids.
I'm not asking for specific information but you seem to know exactly where Collin is? My sense is that we really don't know what the circumstances are, and if a doctor "ordered", in other words, committed Collin.

I don't know where Collin is. But I assume that a parent cannot just admit a child into a mental health facility just because the parent wants to or states that the child needs to be admitted based upon their opinion.
I am not a Dr. or an attorney but I really think that the child's Dr.(s) would great input into this major decision. Just because Collin has behavioral issues would not be enough to just admit him because Kate wants to be rid of him. Tons of kids have behavioral problems. And again, the very fact that we assume Collin has been gone for at least six months speaks to the very fact that he must have serious problems.
If Collin is not in a mental health facility of sorts but in a boarding school then that would be different. Here is the quote from People magazine, “Collin has special needs,” Kate tells PEOPLE. “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him – our entire family has been impacted.” So as usual Kate says a lot without really saying anything. But that statement leads me to believe that Collin is not simply in a special boarding school.
And Kate in an another interview said that it was his Drs. that made the decision. Yes, she is a liar. But I somehow believe her in this instance. I firmly believe (without evidence) Collin's behavior exceeded his "normal" behavior so much that it alarmed both his doctors and Kate. That is why he had to "go away". Maybe this place is a boarding school/medical health facility type of place for kids. Because to keep a kid in just a medical health place for six months would exceed the normal time frame of such place.
Regardless of the reason, it is a terribly sad situation. Just looking at the cover of People magazine again just now (for the quote) with just the seven kids angered me again to end. How dare she not only broadcast her child's physical/mental/behavioral problems to the world but she gladly took a cover shot for People magazine without Collin. And that shot included a fat check too. That is cruel. Collin's doctors and extended family must have been shocked and angered too.
I have to say it again, I don't think Kate knows where C is. He may have been "removed" from the home and placed against her will.
Frankly, I think that would be good for poor C.

Yep! That's why last weeks episode featured Kate & kids in mid-summer, in bathing suits and flip flops and then after commercial break, they were all in coats and jackets, with it obviously being late fall.
That being said, it makes me wonder how much usable footage they actually have. They can't commit to additional episodes if they are scrounging to fill an hour up.
Sad but true (#2), and that's where the whole thing is crazy when you think about it. This is a real, live, actual, flesh and blood family, trying to act out storylines to keep the world interested! TFW said their life is their show and their show is their life. She said what you see is what you get. She said it's the realest reality. No, it's not. That's the description of a documentary. Waiting for TLC to tell you where you're going and when, and what to wear, and footing the bill for it, and
then sitting your children down in front of a camera crew to discuss the whole thing? That's a TV show. It's contrived and fake and disingenuous and inauthentic. And America may just be, at long last, getting tired of it.

I watched celebrity apprentice on Monday night also. I remember when the announcement was made that The Donald would not be hosting since he was running for president. This was when the primaries were going on, the show was actually filmed early 2016 in the height of the primary season.
I really liked The Governor, like the mix of contestants (many of whom have been on DWTS), liked the tasks they did for Tyras company and Trident, and liked the decisions of who went home. Someone needs to give Jon Lovitz, Carson Kressley, and Matt Iseman a sitcom! Or a talk show where they just walk around and talk to each other and folks on the street. They are so funny!
In other news, TFMJG is still boring. Yelling, if done all the time, is boring and gets tuned out.

If it is ONLY behaviour, and not special needs (she has not been clear - does he have behaviour issues due to his special needs, or are they just behaviour issues?), i cannot see any doctor not wanting family involvement in treatment. It absolutely makes no sense. Knowing how Kate operates, I am very surprised she hasn't made any mention whatsoever about seeing him, etc., knowing all of the backlash she has been receiving. She is quick to point out how loving and caring she is with her dogs, yet nothing on her own son?? It reminds me of something she said about Jon on Bethenny's show a few years ago ( I went to youtube for the exact quote): "...someone once told me that if you feel sadness and empathy and pity for someone, um, the root of that is love.." Filming may be dependent on when the kids are available. She can't film on school days, thus spring, summer, fall and winter breaks and the craziness of different activities crammed into one episode. The kids get NO down time apparently.

And Aaden... he had to go parasailing without his glasses?? How can he possibly enjoy it when he can't see anything? I'm near-sighted and don't have to wear glasses when I read or use iPhone or laptop, etc, otherwise I wear contacts or glasses for tv viewing and anything farther than that. So I know I would not have been able to enjoy the beautiful view parasailing without glasses. Why can't Kate buy him one of those straps that keep your glasses on your head? They have sports ones. What is wrong with her!?!

The "statement from TLC" is the exact same statement they made when the show was cancelled back in 2011.
The reference to the rumors about cancellation on TLC's website provides a link-the words "coming soon" highlighted in red- that goes to this preview on TLC's website for the series finale that aired in 2011.

Just saw the Segway scene. As usual Kate was once again unbearable. But I was wondering about the kids' helmets. Half of them weren't on right. They were too loose and hanging toward the back of their heads. How does Kate allow that? What's the point of wearing a helmet if you're not going to wear it properly. I notice Kate's was nice and snug though. 🙄
I guess NBC's outrage was short lived. They kept Trump on as a producer and I didn't watch yet (I was at the Rose bowl!) but apparently he did indeed get credited as a producer last night. NBC's fainting-couch outrage was not genuine. They were just concerned about losing viewers from certain populations. In fact, many convicted rapists are indeed illegal Mexican immigrants. The very next thing Trump said after pointing out that many Mexicans who come here are criminals, was that not everyone coming here is a criminal and some are good people. That's never reported, naturally. All that was said is good people come here from Mexico, and bad people come here from Mexico, and there's nothing un-American about being concerned about the bad people. Nothing racist about the facts. Good for NBC for backing off that rabbit hole.

It is beyond obvious that the "system" in PA favors Kate over Jon. The mere fact she hasn't been arrested for not only failing to follow court-ordered visitation, but further, flaunts that fact, is pretty telling about what Jon's been facing.

Assuming Jon ever called the police. There's no indication that he did. He seems to have shrugged and gone along with it all for years and it took his son(who at that point he hadn't seen in 18 months) being sent to an institution for him to wake up. The statement about not seeing Collin in 18 months was made at the beginning of 2016. It's been a year. SO actually Jon hasn't seen Collin in 2 and 1/2 years, going on 3. What kind of parent waits around for 18 months without attempting to see his child? Yes, Kate is horrible but Jon failed those kids too, especially Collin.
The hand waving is also a symptom which she has done for years.

I don't think Aaden wears contacts. I've seen him without glasses during activities where they may fall off and wearing them again later. I don't think he wore them at space camp either.
I don't wear my glasses around the house even if I have my contacts out... only if I'm watching tv. I can see fine in general but everything is blurry past a few yards. I can't see small details or read a small sign but I can "see."
I don't know Aaden's vision obviously, but based on when he wears his glasses and when he doesn't, I think he would have needed them to enjoy the view while parasailing. For example, I would have been able to see the sky and water and stuff in the distance but not clearly. And I would not have been able to see anything in the water clearly, or even my family in the boat. I think Aaden is definitely near-sighted.
Also, regarding contacts, you're not supposed to wear contacts in the water. Your contacts can become contaminated and result in a serious infection. Contacts should NEVER come in contact with anything but saline solution made for contacts. Isn't Aaden kind of young for contacts anyway?

I think Mady and Cara may have worn non-prescription glasses. They were a trend recently. I don't recall anyone other than Aaden needing glasses. But maybe they just switched to contacts.
I know you can wear contacts as a preteen, I'm just not sure Kate would get Aaden contacts. She's always talking about boys being icky and smelly and not responsible. Wearing contacts is a big responsibility for such a young person. They have to clean and store them properly. Most kids that age don't want to stick stuff in their eyes either. Just my opinion.
... but if any child is being medicated for behavioural issues, you wouldn't be able to "tell", just by looking at them on a couch.

You're right, proper medication at the proper dose should not make anyone "look" as if they were under the influence of something. Proper meds at proper doses help the patient look normal and shouldn't and wouldn't be noticeable. I think the speculation began when and because C looked overmedicated in many scenes.

The seriously devious thing is that Kate has gotten so very good at crafting statements which misdirect and allow the listener to interpret what they will to fill in the blanks.
Given that she's not only a mother, but one who touted her Christianity (with emphasis on refusal to reduce her pregnancy) like an Evangelist siren call, people tend to avoid thinking bad things about her and her capabilities.

Twelve is too young for contacts. I've worn them since I was 16. They are expensive and I doubt a 12 year old would follow the rules regarding them. Even when you are careful, there are infections.
My son played sports at Aaden's age and I gladly paid extra for his sports glasses. I don't get the feeling those boys participate in any sports.

No, you won't.
Just putting it out there, but I don't think we can assume things haven't gone Jon's way just because he has four kids on New Year's. A number of possibilities could be going on. For one, he might not have had a court date yet. For another, he may very well have had a court date, but we have to keep in mind four children have been alienated against him for a very long time. Most good judges, no matter how wrong the alienation is, are going to want a transition plan for the children to resume their relationship with their father in a healthy manner. Just resuming what is supposed to be in place all along could be setting everyone up for failure. A common transition plan for alienated kids involves first having visits in a therapeutic setting with a trained professional there, and transition to longer visits in the community with a support person there like an aunt or adult friends, then just with their dad and longer visits progressing to overnights. This whole process could take months or longer, but if the end goal is a healthy transition, that's a good thing.
How ever is C going to shake this label? I can't even imagine.

On the plus side, I think that much of America doesn't read People and certainly doesn't watch K8's show. There's a good chance that when he's old enough for college/work, people might remember the name Gosselin, but not that he was the one that was sent away.
Inquisitir takes old stories and makes up stuff. The four kid rule makes no sense. She gets away with it because, IMO, the judge is allowing the kids the option. BTW, it appears Hannah is allowed to visit Jon despite Kate's claim he was inappropriate with her, LOL. That must not have gone well for her.

I still can't see Jon forcing the twins if they're not willing to see him. I have hope that Cara might relent, but I think Mady will continue to treat him like sh*t on her shoe, just like Mommy does.
Interesting that tonight's episode seems to have some home video from when the twins were 3-month-olds. I assume Jon was shooting the video, and I'm wondering if he'll be heard and/or seen.

That Inquitr article is pure baloney. It actually quotes TLC's statement from 2011 when Kate was cancelled. Except it does not tell you that. I don't believe a thing that tabloid writes.

With all this speculation about tfw being bi-polar or schizophrenic or whatever...she is a NARCISSIST who may be bipolar or schizophrenic. Her meds will not help or change her treatment towards her children, her ex, her family etc. Plus, it's another crutch or excuse or explanation for her abuse. Gee, is it possible that TLC forgot to send out the weekly teasers for K8's show tonight? Nothing on People or any of the other rags. Very strange, especially after these preview clips have been a weekly thing in People since the show came back.
Just resuming what is supposed to be in place all along could be setting everyone up for failure. A common transition plan for alienated kids involves first having visits in a therapeutic setting with a trained professional there, and transition to longer visits in the community with a support person there like an aunt or adult friends, then just with their dad and longer visits progressing to overnights. This whole process could take months or longer, but if the end goal is a healthy transition, that's a good thing.

You're right, proper medication at the proper dose should not make anyone "look" as if they were under the influence of something. Proper meds at proper doses help the patient look normal and shouldn't and wouldn't be noticeable. I think the speculation began when and because C looked overmedicated in many scenes.

This is what I've always thought, can it not take months, even years to get the right dosage? I don't know how many kids DrPhil has had on where some are on several drugs all at once. When a narcissistic mother has a "problem child" it's NEVER their PARENTING that is in question. It's FIX MY KID. I can totally see her medicating, over medicating, playing around with the drugs...she played Russian Roulette with fertility drugs, HER OWN BODY to get what she wanted! She would most definitely think she knows best with any prescription meds and administer as she sees fit.

Proper medication dosing should not be obvious. But some medications are given for use as needed. Colin could have had some anxiety medication or something that Kate could give as needed. Kate could have pushed to get that so she could control him when needed. If, for ex, Colin got extra Klonopin or Xanax before the couch interviews, he would probably appear medicated.
I haven't watched the parasailing. At the first mention of Kate's tongue issue, I thought maybe she was having problems with her veneers. But you're all describing something worse. How odd that she would allow that to be on film.

I actually don't think they let her see the final cut--that is, if they let her see much at all before it airs. There have been far too many unflattering moments for me to believe she's seen it before it is aired. Unless, of course, so many of the filmed moments are unflattering that there's not much choice.

I've noticed that several of British fans are asking her when the show will be aired in the UK. Kate hasn't answered any of them.
When the Busby's were asked the same question on their FB page, they answered on Dec. 6, that the show would premiere in the UK on Jan. 9.
So if the Busby's knew a month ago when their show would air in the UK, wouldn't Kate also know? Or does she not care enough to find out for them?
I also noticed that in both her IG post and tweet about tonight's show, she didn't mention anything about "live tweeting". Wonder if she'll show up tonight?

Kate said the place they moved the party to was Dundore and Heister, the butcher shop where the kids made beef jerky in the tups birthday episode. I guess this place has some large space(maybe in the basement) where they could hold a party, but I highly doubt this was all a last minute thing.
Kate just calls them up and asked to move the party there, along with camera crew in tow, and they readily agree without a second thought? I highly doubt it.
It was all probably agreed on beforehand that if the weather was bad, they would film the show at the business. The business got plenty of free advertising in the tups birthday episode, and probably agreed to let them film there again, not because of being friends with Kate, but because they'd get more free advertising.
They really expect people to believe this BS, don't they?

Yes, very odd. Plus if the original plan was to have the party on the deck, wouldn't she have waited and used the grill? The fact that she was already cooking the "burgers" before it was decided to move the party venue, makes absolutely no sense.
I think it was just a set-up to have Kate cooking something while the whole drama of "it's raining-whatever shall I do?" played out. They probably didn't even serve the same "burgers" at the actual party. They were just props for that particular scene.

They partied without a thought of Collin. The boys were like peas in a pod. The tups made the picture frames and had funny jokes on them and they all were just having a great time.
I noticed that Mady and TFW hugging was kinda sincere, barely, but, Cara, was totally different. She was sitting and TFW came over and surrounded a hug around her and Cara didn't even flinch, or look or acknowledged her.
That girl is so out of there in less than 2 years. I would say the day after HS graduation.
The Ronnie who was on the show is Ronnie Dieterich, who is a hair stylist/colorist. He used to work for Ted Gibson.
He's also has been included in the credits of the show for the past 2 years under "hair and makeup" along with Deanna.
BTW, how come Deanna wasn't at the party?
If Jon wanted to do a show without the kids, I think a great show idea would be fathers or mothers come on to his show and talk about custody issues and how to network and help each other.
The lying liar who lies, (and made a point on camera of claiming that she has "no babysitter or cleaning lady"), was able to inexplicably make a last minute party location change. Yet, her house was quite a mess considering she was planning on having a party there in the first place, a babysitter miraculously appeared to stay with the kids and had an entire craft planned and ready for them , and an ice cream parlor food truck showed up at their house last minute as well?!?! Sure, Katie......now about that bridge.....

Yeah, it was so "last minute" that Kate had time to notify all the guests of the change in venue, arrange for that sweets truck to come to the house, and also arrange to have MKBrownlow come and do a picture frame craft project with the tups. Plus having all the necessary things on hand to do the craft project.
"Last minute" probably started a week or 2 before the episode was filmed.

Alienated kids are either told directly that is the case and parrot what they are told, or they pick up indirectly that this kind of verbiage pleases their mother, so they start doing it for the various rewards of pleasing her.
Parental alienation is actually more common sense than anything. Of course kids will echo their parents to please, they do it all the time. It's just normally, it's a healthy thing, like mirroring an honest parent who demonstrates great integrity, a generous parent, or a parent with good work ethic, etc. Alienated kids do what most kids do, it's just their subject matter to mirror is very damaging to the other parent.

Jon's a natural at social media. He gets it. It's not rocket science, but after all this time Kate still doesn't know how to post things that are engaging, they keep people interested. Not that I want photos of the kids, but it's just a no brainer a good New Year's post is a New Year's photo celebrating with your kids, with your New Year's paraphernalia and all that. And proof positive he made a good post, the media picked it up. Yet, I've never seen anything like that from Kate, and it's quite rare the media will republish anything she posts.

$300,000 a kid is not a worst case scenario. It's not any scenario, no way, no how. 18 years from now there will still be student aid, and 18 years from now families with this many kids are still going to be eligible for a great amount of aid. Little has changed when it comes to financial aid in 30 years. None of those kids will pay full ticket price for college, and in fact one can make the argument a family of multiples is MUCH better off than a poorer family with just one kid, because financial aid favors large families.
And we've had this discussion many times but just so you know the kids will be 18. Who says you HAVE to pay for their college? Many parents don't. How do you know all of them will even want to go to college? If they do and money is tight, they'll figure it out. They'll get a job, they'll save, they'll get scholarships, they'll get loans. Most kids do who want it bad enough. God forbid it even builds character. If you can't figure this out, most likely college is not for you.

Parentification. On no planet should a 16 year old ever be put in a position to be their parent's emotional support. They are sixteen. Their focus should be on school, friends, activities, the future. At this age parents fade into the background, and it's okay. It's a season in life and this is normal. They still love you and need you, but that's the point in that they need YOU to be their emotional support during very emotional years--not the other way around.
We take kids away from mentally ill parents whose kids have to parent them, including supporting them EMOTIONALLY--pure and simple.
The sad part of all this is she BRAGS about how parentified her kids are. Astounding.

Blech! All joking aside, a good celebrity social media account should have a very high ratio of photos that feature the celebrity. Gross as it is, many fans just want to see the celeb. Not the celeb's dog, the celeb's food, the celeb's dog crate, or the celeb's shoes--unless the celeb is also in the photo. A bunch of stupid selfies aren't going to cut it either unless you are really hot, but several pictures featuring yourself in various situations--events, things you are you doing daily, etc., makes for a strong social media presence.
Again, this is not hard. Fans want to see you and they want to see glimpses of you living your life, behind the scenes. She fulfills this maybe 10% of the time. Thus, her social media accounts get a D minus at best. It's obvious she is too cheap to pay anyone to help her with her media presence and to understand what she should be doing, and TLC isn't footing the bill anymore.

A child has a good relationship because they were hugging each other? Okay then.
I completely disagree with Milo, their relationship is very dysfunctional.
Mady is parentified, an emotional support to her mother instead of the other way around. Mady is incredibly disrespectful to her mother, beyond what is normal teenage mouthing off. Kate also allows her to be nasty to her siblings, and encourages divisiveness instead of helping to build their relationships among each other.
Kate has fostered alienation between Mady and her father. She sabotaged it. That is about the worst thing a mother can do to their child.
Kate USES Mady as her replacement to Jon for the "hook" of the show, and actively seeks out conflict with her knowing it makes better episodes. It's sick and she knows darn well she does it.

Nobody asks themselves how someone so organized who doesn't WORK would cut it this close. What a crapfest. Of course it was all about her and how stressed she was. She must have said "I" "me" or "mine" about a thousand times. Another shopping spree to buy crap for another party. And there were only 7 other girls there and a couple of parents. Big whoop. And the "little kids" couldn't come because there wasn't room. Puhleeze. They needed a B reel. Was it extremely warm in PA in early October because this looked like it was summer. I'm exhausted. This was just awful.
Parentification...that is the one word I thought of over and over again as I watched the second repeat of the episode. Not only is it between Mady and Kate but it seems like it is with all her kids.

Absolutely it is and absolutely it's a component sometimes when kids get taken away from their parents. Thankfully many judges understand how damaging it is to children and take it seriously. Until a parent can get the necessary treatment to learn how to be a parent instead of their kid parenting them, they can't have their kid.
Another thing, there were several adults there but no grandmothers, aunts, nieces, etc. It is beyond sad.

The kids are +/- 16. What parent would allow drinking? C'mon. Like Kate is some maverick for having an alcohol-free party for 16 year olds.
