Kate and the twins on the Today show

Watch the segment.

Thursday, 1/16. Check local listings.

Jon's response: "I just feel horrible for my twins. You would only know as a parent. I wish I could've rescued them. I only knew they were doing Today early this morning. It looked like the twins had a moral dilemma -- 'are we supposed to say it now? Or Maybe we shouldn't say that.' I'm here for them, I love them. They could call me with anything in the world. When I see them for custody next week I'm gonna hug them and ask how's school - I'm going to be a parent first thing."

@Kateplusmy8 You could tell Mady & Cara were just nervous like any normal girls would be. They've grown up beautifully. :D

I didn't think that they looked nervous at all, nor did it look like a case of stage fright, and I watched it a few times. They looked like they didn't want to be there, and that is very different from being "nervous."

(((((((((

Nor are the "grown up". They're 13!!!

but I recall Jon saying not that long ago that he would allow his kids to go back on TV.

&&&&

I don't recall him saying that. All he said was that they were older and it's different now. He never said if an opportunity comes up my kids are going on TV. He always said the opposite. I thought that was a very reasonable answer. It shows that he is not stubborn and vindictive but rather is always willing to listen to everything on a case by case basis. Too bad Kate is not willing to do the same.

Besides, he said that anyway during when he was trying a "kill her with kindness" strategy with Kate. Many of us speculated he was just trying to appease her knowing that it was unlikely anything was on the table anyway so why put up a stink. That didn't work and so he stopped with the Mr. Nice Guy thing and went back to telling it like it is.

Something I noticed before the interview started and just after the pre interview introduction...You can hear Kate say firmly "Cara'...there may have been some incident just before the interview started...

People are comparing this interview to the balloon boy interview.

The kid actually vomits because he knows his father is lying

********

Oh yeah I forgot about that!!

TFMJGTP -- The Former Mrs. John Gosselin The Pimp. I like it Bitchy Pants!

And for the record when I refer to her as TFW I'm thinking "The Fu€k Wad". But that's just the Jersey in me.

I'm looking for juicer recommendations... something that isn't difficult or time consuming to clean after use.
@brookeburke
@Kateplusmy8

Yeah, I somehow don't think that Kate's mind tonight is on an easy-to-clean juicer.

=========

I must be tired. I read that as "juicier recommendations." Not too much juicier than Kate getting skewered by the twins on the Today show live, Jeannie! So... there's your recommendation.

A comment from a "news" article:

"I used to be a Kate fan (several years ago). As I watched the espiodes and then later her appearances on various programs, I admit that she has problems. BUT, I do have admiration for her -- being a Mom to 7 young children -- and the first time I started watdhing the series, ALL 7 of the kids were VERY young. Having raised 2 children (5 years apart), I respect Kate for all the hard work she did (and continues to do). Just stop and ask yourselves how you would cope if you had that many children within a two year age span. I would be in a barrel going over Niagra Falls!!!!"

Yes, well, I guess no matter how many times "fans" watched episodes, they still have a problem counting when it involves that many kids, and having seven kids in a two-year span really is tough, especially when you consider that the twins were born in 2000 and the younger ones in 2004.

You gotta love those fans!

I wouldn't put it past Kate to put the twins on the view or even putting the 6 little kids on the view.

She's evil she'll do anything.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard this one. Is there anyone who DIDN'T used to be a fan?

That just shows that most of this is not coming from a "hateful" place at all but true concern. People came into this mess and LIKED this family and LIKED tuning in and were open and gave the benefit of the doubt when things were questionable and gave them the benefit of the doubt for SO LONG.

Kate, we LIKED your family. Just so you know. You are responsible for how this turned out. Little ole you.

To be expected to perform after you've just been shown a montage of the painful breakup of your parent's marriage is maternal cruelty of the worst kind.

Oh, that is so true!

I have to stop banging my head on the wall. I just read that anything over 325 mg of acetaminophen can cause liver damage, but, comments like this from one of the slower sheeple, well...

@AlfredoCocozza u really think @Kateplusmy8 wld have done Today show w/girls if she THOUGHT THAT would happen? @MiloandJack @deannatweeting

What an absolutely asisine tweet. Of course she didn't expect this to happen, so why even take the chance that it might?

Lynn - TFW actually stands for "The Former Wife". I forgot to mention that in my previous post when I told you what it means when I type it.

Having watched the video, I don't think the twins looked nervous, or conspiring.
They looked shell-shocked.

Although I can't imagine why. They've done this before, they've been on tv since they were 3, M has done plays. What's to be traumatized about.

I personally think that there was a script they'd practiced, but the interviewer didn't follow it precisely, and it through them off. And they were terrified of saying the wrong thing in front of TFW who would scream "Off with their heads!"

I also think that it was painful for them to sit there and listen to TFW flat out lie. They couldn't bring themselves to go along with the lies. Notice that when TFW was starting to spout off more that Mady just sat there with a stone face, looking at the floor. That gaze you get when you can't contradict the person, but you know they're lying.

Interesting that Mady would not say that people were 'wrong'. She couldn't bring herself to say that. The best she could do was say that people don't have the whole story.

I'll never get caught up on all of these comments. Admin, looks like you, the blog girls and the pool boys had a busy day, but has there been any mention if Kate and the girls will still be appearing on The View on Monday? Is there anything within Jon's power that can be done to stop it?

I listened to the TMZ phone call, and you could just tell his heart was breaking for his daughters. It must have been very difficult for him to watch the interview, knowing that he couldn't reach out and tell them that everything is okay.

''When or where did Jon say he just had cable installed? I really don't care whether he has it or not, and if he just moved it may have already been in the new house,etc., but I just re-listened to the TMZ interview and all he said was that he watched it live - which could have been accomplished via number of different media. Just wondering what I missed and where. Thanks!''
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Carole, I also just finished watching the TMZ interview and the word cable was NOT mentioned by Jon. Perhaps the person who heard Jon say he and Liz watched it live thinks that the only way that could happen would be if he had cable, not realizing that there are other ways to watch the show live?
Jon did say at one point that he would let the kids do TV again.
But he also said that it would have to be their choice and they have to be older. However now he sees his wife is using them I believe he's hanged his mind.
Yes, but she wants it easy to clean up. I don't think that the mess Kate created today is going to be so easy to wipe clean.
I'm closing this post in a few minutes. Please move over to the new one.
Thank you all for the fabulous comments today, I am not even nearly close to through them all. And a standing ovation to the staff who was so on point today. I don't know what I would do without you but have 611 comments pending approval right now, lol!
Another thing about the "hate" for Kate, who sets out to hate a family with six adorable babies and two sassy but sweet twins? That's just insane. No one did. Or almost no one anyway. The "hate" was for a reason.
I think it's quite telling most non fans are women. It was a woman thing, oh hon hey look, look at the cute babies.....sssayy WHAT?? And the rest was history.
