I tried posting this on the other thread, but didn't make it before the comments closed. So I'll post it here:

I see what Robert is saying about not being upset with the twins but they are not toddlers.

****
We had a conversation in our house recently about the phrase "You should know better" in relation to older and younger siblings. We explained that we expect certain behaviors at certain ages because as you get older, you have learned more about how to behave (or should if you're parents are doing their job).

I completely agree with you that a 13 year old should know better then to talk disrespectfully of someone. But that being said, look at who their parents are and how they behave. Children do look to the adults in their life to be role models. I think the twins are behaving exactly as they've been brought up to behave by their parents' examples.

There's a parody video that you can google called "Kate plus 8: The College Years". It's kind of eery to watch it now, all things considered.

I do fully agree with this. However, I think it's better they be told that this is not acceptable. Sooner rather than later. It will be much, much harder for them to change their behavior and much more shocking to them if the first time they are told that they are saying hurtful and inappropriate things is freshman year in college. I don't have any problem with them hearing it now. Kind of like the old band aide ripping thing. Just rip it, the sooner the better.

You know I remember the first time someone called me out. It was in girl scouts and I was eight or so and told another child they were not building the fire right. I thought I was trying to be helpful, but the child took it personally and was upset. Another child told me not to say that because it was hurting their feelings.

I was really thrown for a loop. WHAT? I hurt someone's feelings? I was hurt by that myself. But I am so glad they called me out because that was a moment I learned from. Childhood is a learning experience. Kids say what is on their minds and call it like it is. Their honesty can be refreshing at times, but they also need to be taught tact and compassion and that words can hurt. The sooner the better. The sooner...the....better. These girls need to understand that what they said, no matter why they said it, was not okay.

I regret ever tuning into this family too in the sense that it's been awful to watch what's been done to these kids and I'm so tired of it. Just awful. On the other hand, it is one of the best things that happened to me in terms of things I've "created" because I am very proud of this blog and fond of the people here. I still cannot believe it sometimes.

Rhythm Of Life said...

This back and forth bantering between the fans and non-fans takes on a life of its own. Funny, sometimes. Each side baits the other, and many times neither side can stick to the facts. Obviously, the non-fans have read Robert's posts and now it's a game of whisper down the lane. Non-fans are saying that Robert was offered a settlement. According to him. yes, he was. Tweeters turned that into a "payoff" and then a "substantial" offer to settle. Nowhere in his blog did he indicate it was a payoff or that the settlement was substantial. For all we know, it could have been a paltry settlement and he refused.

I'm also curious about some of the remaining few non-fans (as well as fans) who show up there on a daily basis, even an hourly basis. Just for the heck of it, I checked one of the timelines. How can anyone LIVE on Twitter, with only time off for sleeping? Do they eat? Do they shower? It's their business, of course, but I'm just wondering how that works. Is there no family, no socialization with friends, no outside relationships?

I'd love to write a book on this. It's fascinating.

Oh I agree as well. Unfortunately, Kate won't tell them that because she herself sees no problem with the way she treats people. In fact, I think Kate takes great pride and sees herself as being "straightforward and honest" and someone who "tells it like it is" and she probably encourages it in her children. Hopefully Jon will say something to them, but if they don't respect him it's not going to stick.

My friends and I have observed this behavior in a lot of kids nowadays, this sense of entitlement they seem to have that they can talk to adults like peers/equals. I see it in the school environment all the time but also at church and in the community.

A question - how many of you teach your children to call adults by their titles? That is, "Mr. -----" or "Mrs,/Ms. ------". When I was growing up, I never would have thought to call any of my friends' parents by their first names. But nowadays, it's common place and my fellow parents even encourage it. I guess I'm old fashioned. If I'm good friends with someone, their kids can call me "Ms. (first name)", but otherwise it's "Mrs. (last name)".

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

You know what I noticed? Around about 15 years ago, it suddenly became acceptable for kids to call their friend's mom, who used to be Mrs. Larson, "Mare."

No, she is not "Mare" to you. She is MRS. whatever her last name is. I mean I don't think this is a big deal except that it seems to have become a slippery slope where a lot of kids think Mare is their slightly older friend who they talk to just like any other friend, and not a mother and adult who deserves respect. For whatever reason adults stopped sweating stuff like this and this is the result.

Yes! When we moved in 1976 a neighbor lady wanted us to call her Anita. My dad was like No Way. In the late 70's and early 80s my dad hated the sitcoms because he said the kids talked to the parents in a way that was not acceptable.

You're right. Even some teachers, especially pre-school ones, are called by their first names. However, I am, and have always been, called "Mrs." by the kids' friends, and our kids in turn call their friends' parents Mr. and Mrs. It just sounds better that way.

When talking to our kids about their friends' parents, we always refer to them as Mr. and Mrs. We also do this when we address their parents and the kids are present.

It's just the way that we, the parents, were brought up, and it continues on.

Coyne of course was prepared for that talking point and said that since everyone says Kate is putting words into her kids' mouths, that the twins would speak for themselves.

Since the twins haven't given an interview before, and except for CWS we haven't seen them on camera in 2 years, why would anyone say Kate was putting words in their mouths? (I can see it with the immature things she tweets about the tups supposedly saying though)
What is that quote from Mark Twain... "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Well, Kate, thanks a bunch - now we know how brainwashed the kids are!

Well Kate has often said the kids say and think this and that so that's why people say she puts words in their mouth.

Kate C&nt I'm sorry COYNE is an idiot. Just because she asked the kids directly doesn't mean they're not just reciting the party line. It does not in any way prove that Kate does not heavily influence what they say. In fact they sound JUST like her. How is that possible? What about what they said was an original thought? Their so called interview was so perfectly in line with everything Kate has always said it just wasn't credible. Right down to "honestly."

Get back up from WHAT? I can't speak for Milo's life challenges but as far as I understand it Kate is a millionaire with three cars and a McMansion who by all accounts has lived an absolutely charmed life.

I would say it's sad she has no friends and family, but that's her own choice and she doesn't seem to be grieving over it so I would hardly say that counts as a bump in the road.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

By the way Kate Coyne, chew on this. In family law court children often testify. Every day they testify. And many, many times the judge looks at them and looks at their parents and has more than a hunch that they are just repeating what their parent told them to say. And you can TELL just like you can tell with these kids. You don't need to have six years of experience questioning minors to know that these kids are full of it.

And every day, children's testimony is THROWN OUT. In the trash, gone, discarded. So no, it does not mean just because you ask the children themselves that their mother is not putting words in their mouths.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Admin, you're spot on. We've heard "we miss the crew" in almost every interview Kate has done. The twins are just "parroting" their mom. :)

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I remember all the kids' friends would call the narcissist I worked for by their first name, and it was weird. Especially since usually in public strangers approaching them have the courtesy to call them Mr. or Ms. last name. It felt like no one knew who was the parent in that house. It was like there were small people and there were big people and there was no differentiation between who was in charge and who was not, and no deference or respect for someone who when they go out in public are treated so special. Now I imagine they were fine with it for that reason, so they could just be one of the kids. Yet foregoing Mrs. really makes a huge difference in the sort of "vibe" in the house. It sets a very different tone. These sort of subtle things we don't think are a big deal and yet for kids they ARE a big deal, it helps a kid define boundaries. Just like your basketball coach is "Coach X" and teachers are Mr. and Mrs. and pastors are Pastor Smith and so on. Or used to be. Now they're all Pat, Patty and Sam.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

This is where follow up questions off the script are important. Be a freaking journalist.

You miss the crew, cool. Okay, why? What about the crew do you miss? Who specifically on the crew do you miss? Name names. And why that person? And would your answer be the same if you knew that a new crew would be all new strangers?

A million bucks they'd be at a loss how to answer such questions. I bet they don't even remember the crew.

I wish I knew where to look in regards to court records re: Jon asking a judge to stop Kate from throwing their daughters to the wolves. This just is NOT right.

Media nowadays, with the internet and social media, is a lion's den. Kate, of ALL people, should know this. She complained/complains publicly and often about being 'bullied' online, yet she threw her 2 young daughters into the wild and wooley public internetz.

It sounds to me like the 'twins' really resent their younger brothers and sisters and I'm betting the younger brothers and sisters are really going to resent THEM for being on the cover of a magazine. Can you only imagine the questions the younger six must be asking? "Why can't WE be in the picture, mom?" and "Why do Cara and Mady get to be interviewed and not US?".

It's been said here many times but does Kate have NO one to tell her that allowing her kids to speak freely to media is just plain wrong?

Jon, if you're out there, I beg you to put an end to this tit for tat and rescue your young kids. It's only going to get worse.

M and C are old enough, and lived enough shit to know how to survive. All they have ever known is the TFW always wins. If you cross her you lose! They have seen people after people being screamed at...belittled....humiliated...ordered around...and kissing her ass. Even their own dad lost to her and keeps losing to her.
They know they need to keep her happy...say what ever or do what ever it takes to keep her happy. They are stuck there with her, they have no escape, not even their dad can save them yet.
Like most here have said, it was TFW's words, not the twins. Jon knows this. I hope he lets it go. Yes...13 year olds should have respect and know their words can hurt.
But these 13 year olds haven't a chance right now. Until something major happens, they are going to do anything and everything they can do just to survive another day with TFW.

The yelp thing doesn't really surprise me. Apparently they were people who were not customers at a business (carpet cleaning, was that it?) who were coming on yelp just to trash them and make up lies.

I suspect it was probably people from a competing business. I doubt most people feel like trolling a carpet cleaner for the hell of it. This is a case of using anonymity to libel a rival business and that is never going to be okay internet or not. I just don't think that's in any way shape or form the same as people deciding they don't like a celebrity and posting so or puts free speech in danger in any way.

These review sites are finding ways to guard against this. For instance Amazon has this thing now where they put on the review "Amazon verified purchase." This means the person really bought it. That discourages trolls because if they want to be taken seriously they're going to have to fork over the money first. If Yelp could do a similar "verified purchase" type thing they would really cut back on fake reviews like this (which as I said, I think are almost always from angry competitors with nothing better to do.)

People Magazine bases that decision on numbers, not your assumptions. The 2013 cover featuring Kate and the kids was one of the highest sellers of the year.
====
Paula Deen was also on that cover. Her racism scandal was hot news right at that time. Oprah also did an interview about herself about how she was falling apart, which was on that same cover as well.

Are you SURE it was Kate and the kids bringing in the sales?
***
Thank you Auntie Ann for adding some perspective. It reminds me of the sheeple claiming that Kate's participation on DWTS gave them higher viewing numbers, without any actual proof that it was Kate people were tuning in for.

Maybe despite the fact that WOS was on the cover in 2013, People still sold more copies because people wanted to read about Paula Deen, or Oprah.

Just as I can't prove my statement, neither can the other side prove theirs that WOS sells magazines. My good common sense however, tells me it simply isn't possible that enough people would purchase a People magazine to read about someone they cannot stand.

Coyne is as adept a liar as her dear friend, WOS.

I think if Jon and Liz had been drama filled more of them would have been shown this episode. Whose story to bump then becomes the concern. Would it be Ghostface overreacting to his girlfriend's confession that she was a dancer, Farrah's announcement that she's writing a trilogy mish mash of erotic novella and christian parenting, or Taylor of Housewive's fame tipping the rumspringa way too hard at the bowling alley and having a histrionic meltdown once back at the house because the heat went on in her bedroom?
I guess it does bode well that Jon and Liz' story will be a little more tame.

There's that lack of critical thinking skills we've noticed in sheeple before.
Let's see, which one of the three (all on the cover) would be the reason people would want to buy the magazine... Paula Deen at the height of the racism scandal, Oprah, or TFMJG?

Legally. no they are not stuck there. Although they are minors, in PA they can take it to court and request to live with their father. They do not need to be a certain age to do this. The judge will hear their case, but they have to have valid reasons, show why they would be better living with him...a lot of things factor in.

Would they do this? Highly doubt it for the simple reason that all hell would break loose in her "Gosselin Family" home.

I wonder if the kids feel bound to the compound because Kate's made it their job to maintain and clean the compound, as well as care for the animals.
I don't think for a second that if any or all of the boys left to live with Jon, that Kate would take up the slack in caring for the chickens and Shoka.
As an animal lover, nay, fanatic from childhood, I know I'd never leave if I thought my beloved pets would suffer. Just couldn't do it.
And think about the verbage constantly used when discussing Jon. Jon "left" and is "gone", like he's dead.
You leave Kate, you're dead to her and maybe even your own siblings.
You will never be allowed to forget that the rest of the remaining Gosselins in the manse have to take up your slack.

I just find it so odd that TFW depicts herself as a strict mom yet allows her daughters to talk to her the way they do. I mean, on CWS she made them leave the kitchen "you know I mean that" but told Kendra not to go in the girls' room in the morning...it's easier that way, implying that the girls' refuse to allow their mom in there. Which is NEVER a good thing for teenagers.

Trainwreck, yes. But a hoot all the same.
I mean, what's the world coming to when poor Taylor can't simply pass out comfortably with proper climate control forcing her to go full tilt Bozo on the evening staff assistant and cameraman? How's she supposed to be rested for the hungover therapy session with Dr. Jenn the next day?

This is where follow up questions off the script are important. Be a freaking journalist.

You miss the crew, cool. Okay, why? What about the crew do you miss? Who specifically on the crew do you miss? Name names. And why that person? And would your answer be the same if you knew that a new crew would be all new strangers?

A million bucks they'd be at a loss how to answer such questions. I bet they don't even remember the crew.

Yes, that's my undergrad degree. I interned at one of the big 3 cable news networks, then I interned for a newspaper in D.C. and then was hired at that newspaper. It was an exciting time. I met some of the most passionate people. People that really and truly wanted to bring the public the TRUTH and had no agenda. It was refreshing.

This wasn't THAT long ago yet it was different back then--to see the way most "journalism" has turned to absolute fluff is so disappointing. I was taught that it's a rather adversarial profession and that you are always, always looking beyond what your subject is saying for something else going on.

Now, it feels more like journalists want to create a vibe of being invited into someone's home for tea, best buddies. It is more about mutual promotion than anything else. Kate Coyne tends to make herself a character in the Gosselin saga, and that violates every ethical code we've ever been taught.

Here's my take on the People article.

Those of us who have followed this saga over the years recognize that the kids were forced to say what they did to keep the peace with their Mom and the words they said were things that Kate has been saying over and over again. Things such as the kids miss the crew, they want to be on TV again. However, the general public is going to read the article and take it as face value (my assumption). The public is going to draw their own conclusion about M/C's behavior towards their father, etc. It's this slippery slope that Kate has put M/C on that is of concern to me. By talking to People magazine writer they have exposed themselves to the public to criticize them any way they want. And, they have to face their father. Not a good situation to be in.

The bottom line is there is no way to prove or disprove whether Kate sold those magazines or whether Paula did. That very same week Paula Deen was also on the cover, and that story was so huge it was top billing on every newscast for weeks. It was epic. And I'm betting a lot of her fans read People.

As someone else stated, you can go around and around about this magazine selling, but you cannot prove WHAT about this magazine was the REASON people bought it, whether it was Kate, Paula, or something else.

This is called faulty logic. When there are other variables at play, you need to rule those variables out first. When you have two artists put out two paintings at your booth and the catch is you must by both paintings even if you just want one-- and all of a sudden you have a ton of people coming by your booth buying paintings, how do you ever prove which artist they really came to buy unless you personally poll each person? You can't.

About the "we miss the crew" comment which we've all been saying is just parroting TFW - there's a point Admin has made several times which is worth repeating.

The crew is working. At their jobs. For which they get paid. If there's any "socializing" of a significant nature, it's between the crew members themselves, not the crew members and the talent (which is what performers are called). Let's say Bob the boom mike operator and Joe the camera man work on the same crew. They're together a lot, might hang out during their break time or lunch time during the work week, maybe grab a beer after work. That's not to say there's no chitchat with the talent - it's inevitable when you're standing around to have a little small talk. But that hardly constitutes a relationship, and certainly not one which is sorely missed years later.

And even the crew members are probably bonding less and less with the advent of smartphones. It's more likely that these guys spend their break and lunch times checking their emails or playing Candy Crush or watching funny youtube videos. So the whole "we miss the crew" campaign for a new job really rings false, or at best, unrealistic.

I was waiting for a movie to start at an odd time last night (The Company You Keep, a good flick for you journalists out there), and saw the part where that Farrah person was saying she is a New York Times bestselling author and was working on on a trilogy of new books, to include a Christian parenting book. One half of the girl couple said (not to Farrah) that you can't do both, it's just not right, and said she was going to call her out on that. I don't know anything about any of these people, but wow, they are all so PLASTIC-looking! The girl couple seem to be the only normal ones that I saw. And from reading here, I wondered if Farrah even has custody of her kid. How on earth can she write a "Christian" book on parenting when someone else is raising her child? There's a clip on Radar now, and someone here called it. She can cry and cry and never shed a tear. Adweek is so full of it. Adweek is trying to say that Kate & kids cover sold the most issues, right, a has been reality personality, cover issues sells more than popular well know, established actors and well know people? Who they are trying to convince? I think this is hearsay. How much did Kate pay them? Did she promise them a signed book?

As for Jon, I would not be surprised if Jon gets married in another year or 2. That would kill Kate, she will be at her worsed, do everything & anything to make Jons life a living hell, turn his kids again him, take him to court for every little thing, cry poor, cry child abuse, anything for revenge. Kate truely is the one who has not moved on.
Here's a thought: perhaps Jon is doing these TV appearances, to show the world, he is very normal/mediocre/average/mundane person and that he has moved on, not clinging on to hope of another reality show. Like Kate is doing. Appearing on a show for a couple of episodes or an appearance, does not mean Jon is doing reality episode shows. This therapy show is about equal to doing a co-hosting job on a talk show for a week. Infact for Jon it seems to be less time on this show than the others. Third show in and he is just appearing. An doing the talk show rounds, is very normal, since they have had one other couple from that show on a talk show the other day.
I see nothing wrong if Jon and GF relationship goes toward marriage, Kate needs to get over it/move on with your own life and MYOB with your ex, stop brainwashing your kids again him too. Judge Judy would say something to that effect.

I completely agree with you that a 13 year old should know better then to talk disrespectfully of someone. But that being said, look at who their parents are and how they behave. Children do look to the adults in their life to be role models. I think the twins are behaving exactly as they've been brought up to behave by their parents' examples.
****
I do fully agree with this. However, I think it's better they be told that this is not acceptable. Sooner rather than later. It will be much, much harder for them to change their behavior and much more shocking to them if the first time they are told that they are saying hurtful and inappropriate things is freshman year in college. I don't have any problem with them hearing it now. Kind of like the old band aide ripping thing. Just rip it, the sooner the better.
++++++++
Agree with you both. If the twins as teenagers haven't yet learned that certain behaviors and attitudes are not acceptable, then NOW is the time to learn. Considering their mother, it's no surprise they might think it's okay to talk in such a disrespectful manner.

Now would be a good time for them to learn that they are not particularly special, that treating loved ones with respect and courtesy is key to a happy life, and that should extend to all people they come in contact with. Jon is charming and likeable to the general public - hopefully they will watch and learn something from him in that regard. It's so sad to hear them call their own sibling "rabid" and compare her to an animal. If I'd ever done anything like that, at home or in public, my parents would have expressed their disapproval in no uncertain terms, and so would the rest of my sibs. We were and are a family unit and we were raised to support each other, not call each other hurtful things.

If "Sad Fact" and I read the same Adweek article, nowhere does it say Kate Gosselin was reason for the most $$ at the newsstand. It states "the Gosselins of Jon & Kate Plus 8". As far as I know, Jon is still a Gosselin and he is still alive.

At any rate, Larry Hackett (managing editor of PEOPLE) talks out of both sides of his mouth. First he says “A life-changing story will do better than a celeb story, all things being equal”

Then, “If you’re a famous person who’s not doing much of interest at that moment, you’re not going to sell covers anymore. People want a narrative, and they’ll take a narrative even if it’s about someone that makes many of us scratch our our heads and go, ‘Why do people care about them?’ They care because it’s a good story.”

If PEOPLE finds the Gosselins so interesting why not report the whole story? I think Larry needs to pull Kate Coyne out of Kate Gosselin's ass and ask her.

NJ - You just have to type a simple html code before and after the word or words you want to bold or italicize. If you want to bold something, type < b >the word< /b >. (Do NOT include any spaces before and after the letter "b" inside the < > brackets. I just had to include those spaces so I could show the code without actually making "the word" bold.)

If you want to italicize something, just replace the "b" with an "i". The code will look like this: < i >the word< /i > (again, do not put the spaces before and after the letter "i" inside the < > brackets.

Hope this helps.

It seems that you are ignoring the point that Auntie Ann and I were making about that issue. Neither of us disputed that that particular issue sold well. However, I have seen no evidence that supports a contention that the primary reason it sold well was because Kate was on the cover.

Paula Deen was also featured on the cover and it was right in the midst of all that unraveling of her tv career over allegations she was/is r@cist. Paula Deen was and still is immensely popular and has a much larger fan base than Kate ever did. I'd posit that it is even more likely that the higher sales were based on people wanting to read about Paula Deen than a little liked, has-been D-list reality tv show participant.

Yes I agree. Also the actors are usually so busy in hair, makeup, and other duties and the crew is so busy with their various duties which don't end just because the cameras aren't rolling, there just isn't time to mingle. I was on a set once with Chris Pine before he was famous. Beautiful man. But most of the time I didn't see him and when I did he was just standing by himself waiting. He wasn't being standoffish or stuck up, it's just everyone else was too busy to chit chat with him. You end up hanging out with who you're working with directly on a set and not much other people. You might not even know the names of half the people on the crew and it's not because you don't want to.

What an excellent point. So, Kate, a woman in her late 30's, needs to have BV "defend her against on-line bullies" but has no problem whatsoever subjecting her 13 year old daughters to the same harsh criticism?

What a bloody hypocrite!

Though I thought some of things the girls' said were highly inappropriate and that someone should really take them aside and have a discussion about what NOT to say in the media, you do have to take into account their influences.

I do find it hard to criticize them because they were just doing their mother's bidding. Perhaps they were worried about being "happied up" if they didn't co-operate.

I know I did a lot of things as a youngster I'm not proud of just to avoid my mother's wrath, worse, just to get a few crumbs of approval.

The bottom line is that they are still kids and the onus is on Kate to protect them from the very thing she has and continues to subject them to.

She is utterly disgusting.

I agree. And don't forget Cara mentioned their mother wants to give them the "best" of everything, so I think the writing is on the wall. Private school vs public school (at the juncture school change could be critical to 13 year olds), never mind the concert tickets TFW may have wrangled for this interview. The whole interview stinks to high heaven, let alone the fact that TFW thought this was appropriate in any way. Pretty sad that TFW thought this was a good thing for the twins in any way. But I am sure here "besties" are happy that they got what they wanted.

I took his statement to mean that HE'S not letting it go. But yeah, I guess it is sort of vague.

The other thing about this interview is that it's all over the internet, which if I'm correct spans the globe AND it's forever. Does anyone think that at some point Alexis is not going to hear about what her sister said about her in a magazine?

It's one thing to call a sibling names at home, in the heat of a moment but completely another to say such a thing in an interview, especially when they're not around.

Again, I blame Kate. She should have insisted it be struck from the interview. Leaving that in and seemingly having absolutely no shame about it is beyond the pale.

Did I mention this woman disgusts me?

Not a good day for Kate being mentioned on The Talk. The hosts don't like her very much. Sharon's feelings on Kate are that she was equal to her (Sharon) farting - if People has her on the cover again, in as it's a very slow new week. Aisha said it like it is, Kate was the worst wife ever. Another comment, as expressed here is that a 13 year old doesn't know they are messed up because they think they know everything. Kate's best career move would be to disappear totally from twitter, etc and try to be a mother. Try to do something productive in society and write about herself and what's she's done in six months. Go volunteer for the Red Cross, work blood drives, I'm sure they need nurses. Work a charity to give dental help to families, or vaccines to poor children. I'm sure she won't get within 50 feet of a homeless person, but she could use her "talents" for getting items almost for free, at bargain prices and help a food pantry fill their shelves by scouring the local discount stores for bargains. If she's such a great bargain hunter, she would fill a shelf for $20 of non perishable items. Get over yourself and volunteer in your childrens' school a few times a week. Enroll your children in Sunday school and while they're go volunteer to take care of younger kids for their mothers. (No worry, she'd be supervised there.) Chair a committee or organize a benefit for the school. Find a way to give back instead of take, take, take. Teach your children that just because they want something doesn't mean they did it. My daughter used to say "I want ...." and my response, (often joking though) was "it's good to have wants and needs". The kids aspire to nothing but handouts just like their mother. Maybe that's why the twins don't spend a lot of time with Jon, because he can't or won't give in to the I wants. They are going to learn the lessons the hard way.

I don't know. I've heard several people from the reality TV genre mention that they get quite close with their crew and really miss them once the show ends.
In the case of the Gosselins however, their crew was ever changing per Kate's own admission. I'd be interested to know which crew members they actually formed close enough bonds with to miss.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A normal mother would be concerned that the crew is forming such strong bonds with eight minors (including 5 girls). It's unprofessional and a recipe for trouble now and in the future.

Thanks for the explanation on the ban on sponge bath talk---I would just like to add my EEEEEEEW ! Yes, she is living in some kind of facility. LIghts out, vanilla ice cream and sponge baths...

The best-selling cover, as well as the new one, featured her children. The children still sell--if Kate could draw eyeballs, she would have a show. They test marketed concepts that had her serving up food in a diner and working in trash collection ( too bad that wasn't shot on the dark and stormy night!). She produced her own pilot and shopped it around. None of them included the children. The public has considerable interest in the kids. As long as the kids are under 18, TFW can insist that she be included. Although I hope this doesn't happen, how sweet would it be for the tups to sign a deal when they are 18, that excludes their mother?

Whoever posted that they hoped that some of Jon's influences will rub off on them, I hope so too. The roof jewelry episode? where she was being an OVER THE TOP ungrateful, insulting, condescending BITCH to the crew? Jon was being personable, helpful, social etc. Let's hope more of that rubs off on those kids

Bringing this over from the previous blog post. I did a quick read of the People article while waiting on my prescriptions in Target yesterday. I didn't buy the magazine--didn't see any empty spaces in the racks either. No excuse, except I'm sick and blood pressure has been up. So what the heck, how much worse can my day get, right?

A couple things stood out. On the inner page, they had another picture of the twins and TFMJG. White background, everyone dressed in the white clothes, with TFMJG sitting in profile on a white couch, laughing with her mouth looking "unhinged" as Tucker's Mom describes it above. I remember it as a two page photo as the twins were standing some distance away. The one thing that jumped out in the written article was TFMJG saying (paraphrasing here) that she was never taught/her family never worked as a team and she was SO thankful that she had taught her kids how to do that. She then went on to describe how she was having a horrible day and the twins jumped in to take care of lunchboxes, etc. and she was so grateful for that.

So there you go. That explains TFMJG's comment about her family didn't know how to help them. They weren't working as a team and focused on TFMJG's needs whereas she has trained her ATM's to keep her happy.

Sick b'iotch. I do hope they get to see their extended family sometimes.

Someone up thread, or maybe in the previous one, mentioned sibling alienation. This is a good point and Kate is surely sowing the seeds for it.

If she embarks on even the smallest media tour with the twins, leaving the tups behind, it might impress upon them that they are no longer valued.

I know it's a bit of pearl clutching, but it's clear Kate doesn't care who she hurts in her badger like attempt at staying a relevant "celebrity".

My point is that Kate is willing to alienate her family, her friends, her ex-husband and children's father. She is flippant and even cold with her own fans, unless they are feeding her ego at the time.

It's not a big leap to her not giving a thought to the idea that she might be alienating her children from one another.

Right now they are still the Gosselin brand and as long as that is her mind set, as long as she's willing to exploit her kids to market it and gets away with it, the rougher the road I see for those kids.

Right now, all they really have is each other to validate their experiences. When that shared experience begins to get fragmented, manipulated and distorted, it could potentially divide them.

From Robert's Q & A yesterday

Q: Did they try to get you to settle?

A: Yes they did.

Wait a minute, the way this reads Kate tried to pay Robert off to shut up and go away. Isn't that exactly what the sheeple said he was trying to do? Make money, right? Why didn't Robert take the money if they were SO sure that is what they were after. He says he has 5 figure legal bills. Yet he turned down a settlement from Kate?

The sheeple have always insisted that Robert's book was lies and Kate had no choice but to sue. Instead, Kate filed then quickly withdrew a frivolous lawsuit, copyrighted her journal and tried to pay Robert off. Are those the actions of a woman who had a libelous book written about her? Or the actions of a guilty woman... used to using her money to buy silence? The crux of that embarrassing suit she filed was that Jon and Robert were in cahoots to write this book for financial profit. If Robert was offered money and turned it down, Kate obviously could no longer claim this in her suit.

I also gathered from Robert's post that he will be the one suing Kate.

Anyone who has experienced "Parental Alienation" knows that the weaker parent never says "No" to the child. The stronger, more mature parent who has the child's best interest at heart often is disliked, ignored, even hated until the child matures. The weaker parent makes all kinds of promises such as: giving the child everything at all costs, and handing the child everything on a golden platter. Experience is a great teacher. A good therapist helps, too.

The Gosselin experience as I see it will not change unless or until the money train runs dry. TFW is fighting hard to keep the strong-box full. I do hope Jon and his love interest can somehow form a new life. It will not be easy, but it can be done. An attorney told my dear departed brother, "the best revenge is to live a good life." Posting from my iPhone since our internet is down so I hope I catch all the crazy autocorrects !
Just wanted to share something I saw today. I stopped at the drugstore on my way home from work, and when I got in line there was a man and his son who was no more than 6 or 7. From what I gathered, they previously bought an iTunes or some sort of apple gift card that wasn't working. The cashier was trying to explain to the man that they could not just give him a new card, that once a card is sold and activated it is out of the store's hands and he would have to contact Apple. He said "no, you are going to give me a new card so my son can get home and get back to playing his game". The cashier then walked away but still within earshot, to call someone. While she was on the phone the little boy kept loudly sighing, saying things like "this is ridiculous" and "it doesn't take much brains to just give me a new card". And his dad was just standing there letting him act like that!!I was biting my tongue because I wanted so badly to tell that little boy he was being very disrespectful. But then I thought, the dad is the one that needs the talking to. I just can't believe the entitlement issues some kids have! That little scene made me think of the discussion here. All I know is that if I ever dared to act the way that boy was my parents would've taken me out of the store and grounded me from playing the game. But it was obvious that child was just a ting like that because that's what he's growing up learning. Really makes me mad, but mostly sad that nobody respects each other anymore.

&&&&

A settlement doesn't always involve money. Robert didn't say what the offer was. She may have wanted to settle in exchange for him not to re-release the book...or perhaps something else that hasn't been disclosed. We just don't know.

Somewhere on the route of the crookbook tour there is a quote of Kate saying that she doesn't spend a lot of money on the kids having the latest name brand clothing. I guess that was Kate's particular way of parsing words.

====

I remember her saying that too but can't remember exactly where. Bethenny maybe? But yes, she did say it.

Starz22 may give us hell for watching and reading all things Kate, but if we don't she gets away with her lies and there are so many to catch her on that it takes a village.

And THAT is the reason we keep an eye on her.

Some time ago, I thought it was discussed here that people cannot sue for behavior they themselves indulge in. There was a name for it. They can bring the suit, but if evidence is presented that they commit the same acts they are claiming to be damaged from, the judge will end the suit and could sanction the plaintiff. Do I remember this correctly?
______________

The bully bois aren't suing. Just trying to set the record straight as far a the lengths the "haters" will go to to "get back" at a fan...that's what they're saying.

Twins: I wasnt too concerned about the women my dad was dating when he and mom first got divorced. But after receiving therapy from my mom, I realize now it wasnt a good thing.

Twins: I didnt like the filming when it was happening because they invaded my privacy of my bedroom, made me do things over and over again when I wanted to be doing something else, and it made me tired. But after receiving therapy from my mom, I realized it was all FUN! and now I miss it!

DanielleB - It really is maddening to witness scenes like that, isn't it? Generation Me has given birth to Generation Gimme.

NJGal51 - Most excellent!

chefsummer - I'm glad to see you posting. I hope all is well.

I interpreted this differently to mean TFW may have said if you drop your book, I will not pursue a lawsuit Something about personal copyright infringement re: her journal. Too lazy to look back for proper terminology

Why, if she was already in the middle of a lawsuit with him, would she tell him that she'd pursue a lawsuit?

Kate Gosselin makes me sick. Go to work like everyone else. No ones giving you another reality show. Your cook book tanked. It's over.

I saw The Talk today and they started the show by discussing Jon saying in In Touch that Kate is using the kids for personal financial gain. Julie Chen asked the audience: What do you think? Does Kate Gosselin use and exploit her kids? The audience gave a resounding YES!

No mother puts her kids in a magazine and allows what was said to be made public. They just don't. Did they really print the comment from Cara about being hated? What in the world was Kate thinking? Good gawd, that's horrible.

====

Kate was thinking about Kate and the Gosselin brand. In her head, she thinks that as long as that brand is out there the dollars will just keep rolling in. She doesn't care what she has to do to keep them coming in either, even if that means grooming her kids to be interviewed for entertainment magazines. She will stop at nothing to perpetuate the brand. It's become her entire reason for living.

Thank you for the clarification on the subpoena. I just saw that the email id was CJs (alleged) real name. I guess that really is her name, if she's upset about someone else using it in an email id.

Kate's twitter really is a cesspool isn't it? So hard to keep up!
___________

Yes, cesspool is the right word.

JMO, but if the mother made the comment about not letting her daughter wear her yoga pants, it's to make sure everyone knows she's the same size as her 13-year-old daughter.

Exactly

A little off topic. According to the article, there are only 2 entertainers left on the previously announced schedule, but Seaworld is trying to book other entertainers. Sorry, don't know how to make the link clickable.

I found a press release about this week's issue:

Ask them about their mom, and both grow even more animated. “She is so annoying,” Mady nearly shrieks.

But Ms. Chen apparently doesn't agree:
