Veteran's Day

On this special day, we honor veteran Lieutenant Colonel Michael Strobl, our military parents, siblings and friends, and all those who served.

Odds are you don't know the name Michael Strobl. But you may have heard of the essay he wrote, A Marine's Journey Home, which was subsequently turned into the moving film Taking Chance. Occasionally, there are "reality" stories that should be told. This was one of them.

Wrote Strobl: "I didn't know how to express my sympathy for their loss and my gratitude for their sacrifice. Now, however, they were repeatedly thanking me for bringing their son home and for my service. I was humbled beyond words. I told them that I had some of his things and asked if we could find a quiet place. The five of us ended up in what appeared to be a computer lab -- not what I had envisioned for this occasion.

After we had arranged five chairs around a small table, I told them about our trip. I told them how, at every step, Chance was treated with respect, dignity, and honor. I told them about the staff at Dover and all the folks at Northwest Airlines. I tried to convey how the entire nation -- from Dover to Philadelphia to Minneapolis to Billings and Riverton -- expressed grief and sympathy over their loss."

Taking Chance is available around the web including on Netflix, Amazon, and HBOgo.

Deanna said the parchment paper initials was for allergies. So to me it sounds like a catering company made the food. Regular cooks don't have that kind of parchment paper indicating different allergies in their homes. Busted!

Honestly? It looked like it had been written on the parchment paper with a sharpie. And it's very easy to get quality parchment paper from Williams Sonoma, which, if memory serves, is one of Kate's places to shop.

That doesn't mean it was catered, but it doesn't mean it was either. Even if someone could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that she had the meal catered or that it was picked up, (say, a receipt from the catering company or the restaurant or a photo of it being delivered or picked up), it wouldn't matter to the fans she has left. They would just say that Kate deserves to have someone make a special meal for her for a change. After all, she slaves from morning til night for her 8, count 'em, 8 kids.

If people want to keep talking about this, fine but I personally think it's time to move on. Could we have a Thanksgiving thread where we all share our favorite recipes? Talk about our family traditions? There's been some of that happening already today, but it might be fun.

If you want to put a twist of Kate on it, then talk about Kate Thanksgiving Pasts where we know for a fact it was catered (I seem to remember there being pics of the delivery van dropping off food, but my memory can be shoddy, so I apologize if I'm incorrect.)

Or discuss what you think will be on her (catered) menu this year. Will she be sharing Thanksgiving with the kids? Or will they be at Jon's? How soon after Thanksgiving until the "pap" photos she takes (or hires someone to take) are released? Will they be picked up this year? Or will Radar/Star/US simply pass?

Shoot. That should have been:

The biggest indication Kate didn't make it isn't the initials or the paper, it's how the food looks. Edible. Little she has tweeted before looks anything close to that. That's all I need to know.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

She's tweeted about DWTS about a dozen times but never once wished Tony luck or said something nice about him. Effectively she's rolled her window up on him.

Remember her Coupon Cabin post she treated like a press release to respond to Tony and Andersen JUST JOKING AROUND about her? LOL. That was definitely one of her biggest WTF moments at that job. A job which she recently lost, sheeple, now that you mention those who can't keep a job.

As for the dig about bankruptcy? Arrogant twats. I hope you are never in such dire straights that you have to turn to that. You never know what the future holds.

There was a quote that Kate has passed around on many interviews that makes my blood boil, and I yet again came across it again in a recent thread. It's when Kate states that she could not go back to nursing because 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week could not support her family, also how all she made would go to pay the babysitter.
As someone who works in the nursing profession, I take major offense to her accusations. First of all, 3 and only 3, 12 hour shifts a week is full time. She is not a medical resident that works 80 hour weeks and gets paid very little. If she could actually work 6, 12 hour shifts, that's 72 hours a week, she would be making 32 hours overtime! No hospital in the world would pay that. But let's go with this. A nurse that has experience, which she does can make minimum 30$/hr, probably more, but I'm going low. 30x40hr is 1200/wk. Overtime is time and a half, so 45$/hr. 45x32hr is 1540/wk. Total is 2740/wk and 10,960$ a month, before taxes. Is that what a babysitter makes?!? Should I be changing professions. According to her, a babysitter who watches children after school, makes six figures a year. Screw college! What a complete moron.
So now that we have returned from lalaland let's figure something actually plausible. Full time, is 3, 12 hour shifts, and she could pick up 4 hours somewhere for a full 40. Done. That's 1200/wk and 4800/month. That is totally livable if she stopped pretending she needs, 3 cars, million dollar homes, 26 acres and all the bells and whistles. Plus, she only has her children 50% of the time. She could arrange work hours so she works when they are with dad and home with her. NO BABYSITTER. But we all know Kate alters reality to benefit and often make her point for her. 5000$ a month. I know many people who can live off that very well. And, yes she could pick up a few hours of overtime if she wanted. My calcs are also the lowest end. I made more than that, a couple years out of nursing school. Does she even realize how many people she insults with these ridiculous comments? Like I said, my blood was boiling and I had to vent. Thanks for listening.

I read your thread about a shady ex. I have the most sympathy for anyone in that situation. My ex husband, who I was with for 12 years, one day, mind you I was injured and about to undergo major open knee surgery, tells me he does not love me anymore, no reasons why, wants a divorce, destroys me and my family, made my mother leave work to come get me I was so upset, took me to her house, could not get any answers out of him, when I went back later in the evening to pick up clothes to stay at my moms, was eating dinner in front of the tv and laughing. Then I told him to stay away from the hospital, I was having a big surgery and did not want him anywhere near me. My parents picked me up, and we left. 15 minutes after I get to the hospital for my surgery, he walks in, sits down and starts talking to us like nothing happened. My surgeon actually thought we reconciled because of hs behavior. I couldn't throw him out without a scene. He apparently sat with my parents in the waiting room for over 3 hours, trying to chat them up. They wanted to strangle him. He tried to send me flowers and gifts in the hospital. He even tried to show up and visit. I ignored him, I had a roommate, I couldn't yell at him. Hindsight I should have told the hospital to keep him away. He was feeling guilty about his lowsy timing and wanted to make himself feel better, not me. I was in for over 6 weeks and kept getting harassed for a divorce. He wanted me to get on it, in the hospital. That was a low point for me. I sympathize with you. There are some really lousy men out there. Just so happens it is the 4 year anniversary of that event for me right now. It was November 10. All my best to you.

I totally, 100% agree with you. I would never want a person like her as my nurse. I work in pediatrics and thinking about her around sick children, is frightening, sad and horrible. But, it was what she went to school for. There are plenty of nursing jobs that are more managerial and less patient care. If she went back, I would advise a non patient contact end of nursing. But who are we kidding. She needs a job that requires no HUMAN contact at all. She should sit in front of a computer and not talk to or interact with anyone. Are there jobs like those or is she totally screwed ;)

Oh and since we're retweeting the rare and non-representative dog attack stories almost always due to owners, here are a few very recent German Shepherd stories I'd like to retweet to hypocritical Kate:

Four hours ago, Connecticut:
Two German Shepherds escaped from a yard on Porters Hill Road and ran into the street, attacking a 56-year-old neighbor who was taking a walk, biting the man several times before the owner's son could get control of the dogs.
http://monroe.patch.com/articles/german-shepherds-attack-a-neighbor

October 25, Vancouver: German Shepherd attacks toddler's face, he may need surgery http://www.vancouversun.com/German+Shepherd+attacks+toddler+face+Calgary+family+home/7445246/story.html

Nov 4, Australia: A woman walking her two Shih Tzu dogs was attacked by a large German Shepherd, leaving one of her dogs fighting for its life.
http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/breaking-news-blog/woman-walking-dogs-attacked-by-german-shepherd/20121105-28teb.html

There are many more, especially several where German Shepherds just attacked and seriously injured or killed people's pets out walking.

In fact, it was easier to find German Shepherd attack stories over the past few weeks than pit bull ones.

Note: I don't think German Shepherds raised right are unsafe to be around kids, I just think Kate is a hypocritical too. I'd love to see a retweet blast of those stories to her.

Ally, you make all the sense in the world, but we're talking about Kate, who lives in her own reality. In her world, she has convinced herself of this absolute lie that she can't go back to nursing.
Of course she can, but she would rather chase fame.
What has made me the most perplexed is not Kate spewing lies over and over again, because I truly believe she's not "all there". I don't even think she'd fail a lie detector at this point. But what gets me is all of the supposedly intelligent professionals that never once said, "hmm...this makes no sense at all" and really question her.
Most media is in bed together so they're not going to bite any hand that feeds them.
I totally get your frustration, but nursing is but one of Kate's lies that she's told over the years. She's actually been very successful at projecting an image, with a very large, very rich company pushing said image for profit.

There's a new KG related post on Radar discussing the GosselinBook blog being shut down.

I'm of two minds about it. It's clear to me that Robert Hoffman went to Radar with this story. I understand his irritation and frustration. I sympathize and understand that he feels like David battling Kate and Discovery's Goliath and selling stories to Radar is his way of trying to show the world the real Kate Gosselin.

That being said, I am upset that he is a large part of why she is still relevant at this time. It felt like she was starting to fade back into obscurity and bam! He's given her narcissism another opportunity to reign unchecked, e.g. Look at me! I shut down the bullies blog! I'm just made of awesome! When in reality it was likely Discovery's team that got it removed (I'm surprised they haven't come after your blog, Admin).

As I said, I'm torn. I really wish she would just go away. There isn't anything that can be done to help the kids at this point, I frankly don't think the rest of the world gives a flying flip and I would rather she just be allowed to hang herself because she was doing a pretty good job without Robert's help, IMO.

However, I don't like corporate America bullying the little guy and that's what this feels like. It's frankly overkill on both sides, IMO. I think Discovery and Kate are using this situation to keep her relevant and Robert, in his zealous righteousness, is playing right into it.

Sigh. It's just so junior high school and sad to see adults behave this way.

I don't know, I don't think that's the reality at all. You would have to file suit and get a court order to get it removed, and that would be public record. No one has seen anything of the sort in the public record. Whatever happened happened pre-court, pre-trial, pre-lawsuit.

Could they, pre-lawsuit, ask, threaten and bully to get it removed, threatening million dollar lawsuits? Yes. And he could have relented to avoid a lawsuit. That's different.

What ingredient in "fish in paper" is someone allergic to? If it's the fish, then they are not eating "fish in paper". The vegetables or herbs? Probably not. You and Kate really need to think before you tweet this shit. The sheeple may be stupid but the ladies on this blog are quite intelligent. I thought you were smarter than that.

Just saw the picture of the girls reading Kate's book. How many copies of this crap does she have? I noticed that the chair the girls were sitting in was shoved in front of a door (you can see the handle) blocking the door but affording a view of a doghouse. Scripted much Kate. Just like your show and your life. We're on to you and have been for quite awhile.

Let me think about the next chapter review. It might be better to wait until we have a better idea what is going on with the legal issues first. I'm not implying we're in trouble, but this is all part of being the mother hen of this blog and being careful and cautious--though not paranoid. Sillimom is surprised they haven't come after this blog, but I'm not, because we're careful and cautious.

Again, I'm not advising Robert, but I Think the biggest problem he ran into was reposting so much of the contracts. You know what, those ARE their contracts and they do have a right to keep them private other than important points that are matters of public concern. For instance, protections or lack thereof for the children (i.e. the sick days provisions that were so appalling) and whether the children were paid are important points that you can probably get away with publishing.

He should have pulled two or three important points from the contracts, two or three matters of public concern, and left the rest off--and then I don't think they would have a leg to stand on in a copyright suit.

But by posting it ALL, every word, word for word, so much of which we really don't need to know? Yeah, it's an issue.

And what's a shame is that now it has bogged down other parts of the book where there really isn't any legal issues that could have been posted freely.

I think this proves the point that a layman really should be 100% up to speed on applicable copyright laws and libel/defamation laws, of which there are many and of which it's all very complicated, or you might find yourself up a creek without a paddle.

Admin-If only a few posts on blog contain items that may be subject to copyright infringement, is it usual for all the posts to be set to draft status?

I'm trying to remember what was on the blog that would be subject to copyright infringement. The only thing right now I can think of would be pictures that Robert himself did not take. He did publish the pap photos of Jon and Hannah(?) without giving credit. Could that be one of the posts in question?

Ally...27 Kate always says she can't go back to nursing because the money would go right to the babysitter. However, here she sits more than a year after having her ass fired from TLC and she is not bringing in an income.

And she admits she has a babysitter now. So woudn't it be better to at least work and get SOME money coming in to pay her even if you break even? Because as it stands now by her logic she is bleeding money out in the red. Half of nothing is nothing.

This is legit. I got something like this for posting a photo of that Disney World Dolphin cove thing. They put the post on draft status--no one noticed because it was an old post.

Disney got their panties in a bunch. LOL, wow Disney sure wants to disassociate with kate huh? So I simply removed the photo of the Cove and republished and everything was fine. The post was indeed put to draft status put I just had to republish it.

This is standard practice for blogger and actually I think very fair

I respectfully have to disagree about Kate's rationale for not going back to nursing. I know she wants to stay on tv. So she should just state that and state she is not interested in nursing as a career anymore. I can't stand her, but I could respect a truthful answer, rather than belittle her former profession and nursing in general. I know the woman lies so much that her lies are her truths, but this is not something everyone does not already know. She wants tv, fame, stardom and MONEY!, not self respect.

This was two years ago, I'm trying to remember what happened.

I believe I got an email that "Walt Disney Company" had filed a DMCA complaint about a post I made. I do remember they identified Walt Disney as the maker of the complaint. They also linked to the photo they were having a problem with and explained that if I fixed the post I could republish. It was clear what I needed to do. I believe there was also an option to contest it, but I chose not to. I'm not going to fight over a stupid dolphin photo.

They only put the Dolphin Cove post on draft status. Everything else was left undisturbed.

I went into the post, removed the photo, and republished. I never heard from them again.

Who knows if Google's policies are the same at handling this. Perhaps they do things a little differently and remove all your posts until you fix the issues, but that's how I imagine they do it with me. They were specific about what needed to be done at least to me.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Jane, I don't know what google's policies are, but they may remove all posts now when there is an issue to get you to act faster.

For instance someone may not act immediately on a Disney photo from awhile ago if the blog is otherwise up and running. But take a blog down and it tends to get people moving. Just speculation.

Admin, when I said I was surprised they hadn't come after you I was referring to DCMA violations. Not that you abuse it or anything - you do a great job protecting this blog - but just that it's very easy to file that sort of complaint and, as was demonstrated in Robert's case, easy to get a blog, etc. shut down, especially when the site owner doesn't have the saavy you do. In most cases, it's corporate bullying, plain and simple and it's wrong, IMO.

My husband is very passionate on this subject (Don't get him started on the BSA (Business Software Alliance)) and so it raises my hackles when I hear about things like this.

I applaud your handling of the situation when it happened to you and I wish Robert had done the same rather than rushing to sell the story to Radar. I will say this - Radar doesn't seem to be overly concerned with Kate's legal team's threats anymore. They've run several negative pieces about her as has the Huffington Post.

I wonder what caused the 180?

I have also said this many times before as well. KG is NOT interested in a nursing career of any kind. That was then and this is now. It is just irritating that she can't be honest and say so when asked about nursing. Many people change career paths. Now we also know she is never going to be a media stah but talking about how she could return to nursing is just beating a very dead horse.

Blogger protects your identity so the only way DMCA complaints can be filed is to write to google about it. Google then makes a decision what to do about it. One thing they can do is temporarily remove your posts and ask you to make changes, which is what they did to me.

In my situation, I thought it was a reasonable, fair solution. Shutting down the entire blog permanently for one mistake would be very harsh.

What DCMA violations?? I didn't write the book or post any contracts or photos. We're essentially just "reporters" like everyone else.

Everyone all over the net is talking about what Robert said, including Huffington Post and Radar Online. I NEVER reposted anything but tiny snippets of contracts. It makes no sense to single out this blog when the whole internet has talked about this story in the exact same manner we have. I would seriously be shocked if they came after this blog. Shocked.

You're ALLOWED to comment on a public story. That has nothing to do with DMCA. Now, being the author of that story is a whole other matter.

Ally said...

Admin...
My thoughts exactly. I read Roberts book and my biggest, ugh oh moment was when I read all the contracts. He literally posted all the contracts in their entirety. If the bulk of the contracts were eliminated or just omitted, the meat and potatoes of what he was trying to accomplish was still there. If the contracts were out, I don't think the book ever would have gotten pulled from amazon. It was tlc/discovery that got the book pulled, not Kate. Libel was never the issue, which her defenders never understood. The information is all true. Now this contracts stuff, overshadows the abuse and so her supporters say, see all lies. I really wish Robert had thought that part through better.

The books really don't have much relevance to the show, other than the name of the central character. On a timeline, the show takes place before the books. The books are really good, though. Some are better than others, but I haven't read one yet that I would call bad. If you've read and liked them, try books by Beverly Connor. She has a couple of series and they are similar to Reichs' books.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I agree that 37000 still seems very high considering her Google Trends info which says that people looking for her are back to about 2007 levels. I believe that she has <100 unique people writing to @kateplusmy8 on any given week. Of those it's very obvious that MOST people are "non-fans". I will see if there are any tools out there that can evaluate unique tweets per twitter feed so we can realistically see what impact she is actually having.

For me this data is very eye opening - she's got to be aware that her star ("stah") is fading quickly. She needs a game change or she's REALLY going to be in the dumper by next year (She's pretty close to being irrelevant now!)

Considering that lots of advice has been given to her, which she then ignores, it's obvious that the best she can hope for is to occasionally pop up on mainstream TV but that is not enough to pump her back up to 2009 levels. People are genuinely sick of hearing about her. Look at the comments on any given online article about her.

Kate may be able to use the kids' money to silence Robert and others...for now. But the truth is out there. She abused her children in the past and is most likely doing so now, if not physically then emotionally, she used and discarded family and friends, is a proven liar, the list is endless of the damage she's done to her children and others. If you'd prefer not to believe Robert Hoffman's book, watch the UNEDITED shows. It's right there, in your face.

I'm one who believes what Robert wrote and support his efforts in getting the truth about Kate out there, although like others, wish he had used a reputable publisher. But there are other 'Roberts' who haven't come forward yet. In time they will. Kate can't hide, the kids money for lawyers won't last forever and her ability to make a decent income continues to circle the drain.

I think you're right. It's the beginning of the end of the kids' money that she's spending on high-priced law firms. The book is out. Her deeds are known. To keep this thing going by having attorneys do hours and hours of billing is nonsense. What is it going to accomplish? They may try to prove libel/defamation, but in order to do this, SHE has to prove that those weren't his words. So he may be guilty in copyright infringement. How does that help her? How does it clear her name? It doesn't.

All she is doing is spending money to try to stop him. This is drawing more attention to the book. Not a wise move, unless her motive is to get her name out there, but at what price?

Silimom said...

Buttercup - I'm perfectly fine with her becoming irrelevant and the sooner the better.

Jane - I for one believe the evidence presented in Robert Hoffman's book because I saw the original unedited shows. Many people don't realize that the DVDs/Netflix shows are very edited from what was originally aired.

Her behavior was always suspect and Hoffman's book simply confirmed what many of us already knew or suspected - that Kate is a very ill woman who lives in her own fantasy world that revolves around her and when she's confronted with reality she loses it. She will never change. She is like all the other mediocre narcissists in the world.

I have a dream that someday I will log onto this site and find it has been closed to comments and new posts because there is no longer a need to show the world the real Kate Gosselin because there is no new information about her. She will have faded back into obscurity, possibly showing up on a "Whatever happened to?" List.

Sadly, neither she nor the damage she has caused will ever "fade away" from her children's lives. It is something they will carry with them the rest of their days.

In my years on this planet, however, I have learned that kids can survive a lot and I pray it is the case for Jon and Kate's kids.

FYI said...

IMO, Kate let a big opportunity go by last night to show that she doesn't hold a grudge and to show that she has "grown up".

She tweeted that she was watching DWTS, but not one shout out to Tony and Melissa who scored perfect 30's for both their dances. In fact, for last week and this week, they scored 99 out of 100 points. Len made the "bees knees" comment to Tony & Melissa during their first dance, so she did watch them dance, but all she could tweet about it was Mady commenting on Len's statement.

Her silence on their dancing is very telling.

Meh....SSDD (same sh*t, different day).
It's amazing that Kate continues to maintain such a visible presence in the tabloids. What I do find interesting is the notion that basically, Kate has overexposed herself. What else is there to learn about someone who has had her life documented on Reality TV for years, has had her life written about in tabloids and books, has made innumerable tv appearances decrying all the travesties that she has endured, and who continues to use Twitter as a means of over-sharing everything from what she has for breakfast in the morning, to the one whole low-fat Fig Newton she indulges in at night on her leather sofa with 8 kids lined up behind tape on the rug while they watch TV.
It's exhausting just attempting to aggregate all of this together. Who needs more?
I think that because of her abject fear of obscurity, Kate has officially made the vast majority of TV viewers absolutely sick of her.

Is "mad as a wet cat" a regional saying? We always say "mad as a wet hen," maybe because we're in farm country. I never heard the wet cat thing, but it does make sense!

Would Kate be on every episode I wonder- that would get old fast. And who in their right mind would let their kids have Kate as mom for the week
****************************

I can't see anyone being the star of her show but her. She wouldn't allow it. I suspect her guests would be of the Zlist or totally unknown kind and portrayed as inept unorganized idiots. Gotta make Kate look the perfect mom of course. Maybe she will try to get some of her delusional fanatics to appear on it. They could make 900 loaves of bread a day, tweet, wash 56 loads of dishes a day etc. That could be a hoot. They would probably steal souvenirs. (pieces of 'the globe', kate's thong, empty wine boxes, Shoka's poop...)

I was throwing around names for the show and thought of something like, "A Walk in my Shoes". As in you think you have it bad try 8 kids-rather than using a Swap kind of name. We will have to see if any ideas written here are used IF-IF-IF it is picked up.

Let's look at that 37% of "good followers". Of that how many are teenage girls or boys who will go on to something else as they mature and lose interest and how many are non-fans who post to Kate on a regular basis? Then factor in those who are employed by Kate such as Deanna and Ted Gibson or is it Jason whatever his last name is? Now what percentage do you have of really true fans that will stay for the long haul? And of those true fans how many have multiple accounts? The percentage lessens even further. Looking pretty dismal for Kate, isn't it?

Anonymous said...

Did Deanna not see the DC Cupcake episode? Where Kate puts her nose in the air when the guy rejected her cupcake because it wasn't gluten-free? Her remark (paraphrased): I have no time for food allergies? So SHE isn't the one with food allergies. More likely, one of her visitors. No wonder SHE couldn't cook for that. It was a catered meal, no doubt.

I gotta say - Who, when having company, takes a picture of one plate of food? A particularly table set, OK, but dished food on one table? I'm still hosting the large Thanksgiving dinner (I KNOW - adding insult to injury. My wonderful DIL is helping with cooking...so she taste test for me). Two Turkeys - one in convection oven, one deep fried weather permitting (if not, I have two GE (roasters from the '50s with stands. Hmmm, 1950's heirloom GE Roaster, not as cool as the 1980's heirloom faux ultra suede brown Lazy-Boy recliner, but...) and a Tofuky "roast" for my vegan daughter and SIL, vegan/gluten free side dishes (I have SisIL with gluten allergy) along with the all the usual side dishes. Also a vegan pumkin (gluten free crust) so EVERYONE can delight in dessert. Still, I am NOT going to make people wait for a picture to be taken of one plate of food for a photo op. We WILL happily take pics of the my whole family, all 41 of them, at the tables happily enjoying their meal.

One year, as a joke, my one Sister-in-Law bought all 5 of us girls walking windup salt/pepper shaker robots. It is tradition the they all bring their S/P robots. One for each of the tables for "easier" passing of the salt and pepper - not really easier though since the darn things don't go in a straight line. They fall off the table multiple times during the meal. My B'sIL make bets on how many times one'll walk off the table...Better than Thanksgiving Day football. And I LIKE football.

I am so frikkin' mediocre I demand a medal.

Any show that Kate produces would have to have "Kate" or "8" in it. Remember, she has to remind everyone she has 8, count em, 8 kids.

If the show is a mom swap type of show, how about "Rotate the 8 with Kate"?

More Twitter statistics:

http://www.tweetstats.com/graphs/Kateplusmy8

The stats clearly show that she mostly tweets when the kids are home (no surprise). Also she had a drop off of activity in October when she went into twitter silence. Since I was the first one to query @kateplusmy8 there was no data on followers (day to day) but if we go back to tweetstats.com tomorrow we will see that data.

Here is another good report from tweetreach:

http://tweetreach.com/reports/5668369?v=2 for the report I generated and

http://tweetreach.com/reach?q=kateplusmy8&v=2 which auto-updates (so you can compare to the one I generated)

Most of her most "influential contributors" are non-fans with the exceptions being Milo and - the one Robert branded a "lunatic" - msgoody2shoes21

Anyone else getting the picture that MOST of the active people following Kate are actually not fans of hers?

------------------

But there isn't enough money so the kids can buy their lunches once in a while like the rest of their classmates. Meanwhile, she sinks it into a project so she can put her face out there on national television, staying in the spotlight, living her lifestyle of the rich and famous.

I wonder if CC got wind of this before her firing. Makes sense -- a multi-millionaire, funding her own production company, while preaching to the mediocre moms of America how to clip coupons. It was a farce, and they knew it.

This little bit of made-up nonsense just validates that the crap sheeple are posting are just a way of venting their frustration because their kween is circling the drain.

If she weren't so despicable, I'd almost feel sorry for her. She doesn't wear "desperation" very well. It must be horrible to go through life knowing that you are despised because of your own doing, putting the blame on everyone else, and then believing that someone actually is willing to take the chance and lose money on what will be a failing show.

She really doesn't get it.

************************************************

No, she really does not get it, MelissaNV.

It would be a different story if Kate was talented, personable, able to carry a topical, intelligent & interesting conversation.

BUT, she has nothing to bring to the table- and feels entitled to boot.

I believe that Kate is going to finally understand when she hits rock bottom- and she's obviously not there yet. It's inevitable.

If I was Kate, I would take up painting. Afterall, Grandma Moses started painting in her golden years ;o)

(P.S. sadly, she'll probably make enemies in the art world too...)

It's a requirement for the Sheeple Club. They take a test. If they incorrectly spell/use "your," "loose," and "their," and begin their tweets with "me and my mom are big fans," and "I seen you on television," they are guaranteed acceptance into the group.

Dwindles Potato Soup

6 Large Potatos, peeled and cut into bite size pieces

2small onions, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 large carrot, chopped
2 TBlsps chives plus additional chives for garnish (double the amount if fresh)
2 TBLSpns chopped parsley (or flakes)
3C water
3 chicken bullion cubes
1 tsp pepper
2Cups strong flavored beer, do not use lite beer
1 - 13oz can Evap Milk
2Cups Extra Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
12 oz crumbled, cooked bacon, crisp.

Put potatoes, onions, celery, carrots, parsley, water, bullion, chives into large pot. Stir in beer. Cover. Simmer until vegetables are well done, approx 2-3 hours. During final hour of cooking, add evaporated milk and cheddar. Stir frequently. Serve topped with crumbled bacon and additional chives if desired.

WARNING, cheese will eventually seperate and soup may not appear photo-pretty! But still really good!

Moose Mania, I have done it many times in the crock pot. It does take a very long time for some reason, like 10 hours.

I FORGOT TO ADD TO LEAVE THE LID OFF DURING THE LAST HOUR OF COOKING.

If using the crock pot, use boiling water to give the cooking a head start. It might help to warm the beer a bit too. For me, using the crock pot led to a thinner soup, less creamy, probably because ya dont stir it as much and the potatoes dont break down to thicken it.

Just a soup tip to all of you fellow soup and chowder lovers: I have found that with potato soups and chowder recipes with potatoes that if you use canned whole white potatoes (cut them into chunks) that soups/chowders will not become pasty or be undercooked and crunchy and the cooking time will be cut in half.
