Redemption

Dancing With the Stars' Tony Dovolani won the biggest prize of them all last night with his partner Melissa Rycroft. When asked on Jimmy Kimmel about Kate Gosselin, he said: "She's a sweetheart. I'm sure she voted for us." Kate tweeted her congratulations late today.

Admin -- I keep forgetting to ask. Do you have a Kindle? There are several free Kindle downloads available today on the Civil War -- a couple on Antietam and one on the Battle of Ft. Sumter. There've been a lot on the Civil War the past week or so. If you don't have a Kindle and are interested in the books, you could just download the free Kindle app to your computer.

I agree with Greedy. REAL life is happening all around Kate but she never notices. She has no soul.

Readerlady, what do you know about Russian Blue cats? I know mine isn't a pure bred (she's a farm kitty) but she's REALLY needy, for a cat! Follows me everywhere and very vocal. I love her.

Yeah I have the Kindle app for ipad though I rarely use it. Where, where?

I just had a wonderful time at the Victorian Christmas display in Wilmington. Celebrity siting: Queen Victoria! I can't believe all the Civil War-era events out here in L.A. This is just like when I lived in PA. The Civil War is making a comeback. May have something to do with the 150th anniversary.

Remona Blue -- ITA with you. As my mother used to say, put them in a bag and shake them up and you wouldn't know which one would come out first.

I agree that the three adults need to grow up. However, from what I've read, it seems very clear to me that Halle Berry is a text-book case of parental alienation. From the rulings of various Judges, they seem to agree. In the case of parental alienation, it seems to me that no matter what one parent does, it will never stop the alienation efforts of the offending parent.

&&&

I agree. She is textbook. The problem is there is nothing, NOTHING Gabriel can do that will make her behave in an appropriate manner. Nothing. The only thing he can do is try not to set up situations where she booby traps him. The problem also is since it's so infrequently talked about, most fathers have no idea what to do. For instance, for starters, he shouldn't be exchanging his child at her house, or any house. It should be at a police station, period. It's that bad.

Horrible woman. Can't think of even one redeeming quality. 190

Giving her credit for saying "thank you" is pretty indicative, IMO.

Several sheeple admit to buying the book, now I am presuming that
having done so they actually read at least some of it. Then they
STILL defend her? #hopeless.

Admin -- Go to http://blog.booksontheknob.org. You'll have to scroll through the posts to get to them. They're on the second page, under "Free Short Reads". This outfit, Charles Rivers Editors has freebies nearly every day, and they're all non-fiction/historical. They usually aren't really books, but are more like monographs -- 30/40/50 pages long. Some are longer, but most aren't really book length. They are usually historically accurate but somewhat superficial, or at least the ones I've read have been. You might find them interesting, though. Hey, the price is right, LOL. If you don't like them, you can always delete. The free price is usually only good for one day, though, so if you're interested, check them out today. Tomorrow they'll probably have a whole new batch. I didn't think about this being the 150th anniversary. You're probably right about that being the reason there've been a lot lately.

Halle put her house up for sale, I wonder when Kate is going to do the same. I can't see her hanging on that place much longer if she can't find a job, not even a mediocre one.

*******
Maybe this is the reason Kate really wants the kids for Christmas this year. This could be their last Christmas in that house.

Junebug said...

Um, readerlady? I was asking what you knew about Russian Blues and their temperments. I know, I know, google! LOL I would rather a personal response! If I can get one.

localyocul said...

If, IF it is true that the children get to decide, which I seriously doubt, it probably went like this: "Do you want to spend Christmas with daddy and get nothing from me or do you want to spend Christmas with me and get Ipods?" Custody orders spell out how the holidays are split. To change it you have to have a modification hearing. My daughter is 16. At 8 she would have never been able to "pick" one of us for the holidays. She would have not wanted to hurt either of us. Even at 16 now I am positive she would want to spend time with both of us if it weren't spelled out already, which it is. It alternates yearly Christmas eve til noon on Christmas Day with one then the other. When Christmas day fell on his day Santa always came the week before to our house. Oh, I guess that isn't an issue with the C-cup Grinch.

I remember during the divorce and she would complain about the paps. Yet, she has 22 acres and chose to sit with the kids while they played, in front of the garage. She had the table out there for them to do homework; they always played out in front, she knew the paps were there, yet continued to do this.

******

Oh yeah. Babydoll dresses, no bra, bending over the children's tables during School Time, showing her upper half to the cameras. Then with the inflatable toy (not related to above inflatables) she sat on the ground with her lower parts exposed to the cameras. Never a look of concern or embarrassment, just acting like it was all in a normal day, posing for the paps.

Local, yes. I've only been practicing family law for about five years but I've probably done hundreds of custody orders/holiday schedules. And I can say with certainty not ONCE, EVER was an eight year old allowed to decide where they would go on holidays. In fact if I tried to get a judge to let that happen, I would probably be looked at like I am nuts and admonished to go read a child psychology textbook--it is WAY too much for an eight year old to take on emotionally, and incredibly detrimental to a little kid like that.

I think the lady at the expo bought some stuff, like clothing and shoes. The freebies are more along the lines of magnets (sometimes only with purchase), sports-type food samples, etc. My big'score' was a racing belt once but otherwise you have plenty of room in your string pack, even with your shirt and all the paper they give, plus maybe some hairbands (which were awesome) that you get. Though Kate did imply something about Bose headphones last year......

So Milo is going to be the ace reporter for this race. Got it. Kate is still egging her on. Kate is stupid. You call a spade a spade. Other adjectives for her would be naive, slow on the uptake, obtuse, dense, but when it comes to this Milo thing, stupid works best. No sane person would continue to feed a stalker. Dumb move...moronic, in fact.

readerlady said...

Junebug, Sorry. I wasn't ignoring you, I just forgot! Re your kitty. She isn't a Russian Blue, she's a blue kitty. A Russian Blue is a specific breed, bred for certain characteristics. Your kitty is asking you for attention. Some are very very needy and demanding of a lot of attention (not unlike a certain grifting mother of HOM, LOL) and others are more aloof. You can try "training" her but it takes a lot of time and patience. Play with her, pet her, hold her and talk to her at certain times, and reward her for being a "good kitty" by giving her a little treat or some catnip if she likes that. When you play with her make it vigorous play -- chase a toy or play fetch or something that keeps her active and wears her out so she'll want a nap. If she knows she's going to have your undivided attention for a certain period of time every day, she may become less demanding. Some cats, who were separated from their mother too early, need lots and lots of attention. It can get annoying if they're always under foot and get in the way when you're trying to do something. I had one cat, a shelter rescue, that was like that. I would have to shut her in another room if I needed to do something that she'd get into, like knitting or beading. Of course, then she'd yell and caterwaul until I let her out again. Is this the sort of information you're looking for?

Junebug said...

Thank you readerlady!! I was in the hospital for a month a few years ago (stomach issues) and I think that is why she is so demanding of my time. My mother came every day to check on her but I'm sure it was very traumatic for her.

We have a couple solid hours of Lap Time every day and she's always bugging me for ice cubes of all things!

She's 14 now and is my very bestest friend. Her eyes are the most beautiful shade of green.

Thanks!

readerlady said...

Junebug, She sounds beautiful. You may be right about the reason for her neediness. Although we think of cats as being more place attached than people attached, they do get very attached to one person, or one group of people, and it's very upsetting for them when that changes. It sounds like you're giving her lots of time, so that should help. Her age may have something to do with it, too. Just like us, they need more reassurance as they age. Does she eat the ice cubes or play with them? I haven't had any cats who like ice cubes, but I know a lot of people whose cats do. One lady I know has a cat who won't drink water unless it has a couple of ice cubes in it.

Kate does it differently. She stands there in front of the vendor's booth "do you know who I am? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!"

Vendor: No I don't, but here lady...take the goddamn headphones and get outta here.

I had never seen the SYTTD episode...just watched itnon youtube.Did you guys catch the consultant saying at the beginning, "She definitely knows what she wants. Everything's yes or no. This is her second time around. She's been here before."

I had the impression when the consultant said, "she's been here before", that it wasn't a pleasant experience. Almost like the consultant wanted to roll her eyes, but didn't quite dare.

Wonder why/when Kate was there before...is that addressed in gosselinbook?

Maybe they weren't falling all over Kate enough? Although the salon owner was present (Kate completely ignored her).

Kate Gosselin: We don't do Santa at our house"

Apparently, Kate Gosselin and a steaming pile of crap have something in common! (You should see her avatar- heap of shit ;)

Somebody break out the T.P. Only Kate's going to need Mr. Charmin for Ms. Poopy-face, as Northern Quilted now despises her.

On another note... It would be fascinating, to find out that Milo was one of those rabib fans. You know the type-- with dozens of separate Twitter accounts, tweeting several semi-celebs all day, seeking attention. Kate would be so pissed, to find out Milo was moonlighting for the affections of another 'Stah'. Kart wants her 'little tiny runner' all to herself.

Another thing parental alienators do is guilt trip. Mommy will be so so sad without you. You dont want to leave mommy along on xmas do you? Whereas the healthy parent who doesnt guilt trip and is supportive loses.
====

I meant to respond this earlier today before I went out.

The guilit trip works on the ex-spouse too. After successfully alienating the child or children from the parent, she or he will then turn on the ex and tell them they don't care about their children or they'd spend more time with them. It's such a selfish, sick, twisted, need to be the most loved parent.

Admin, "Catfish" is one of my favorite Documentaries... of all time. I have encouraged others here to watch it, several times.

I've been following the new spin-off MTV series (although it's not as "touching" as the Doc- thus far).

One of my dear friends, Alekz and I met online back in 1995. It was on a Depeche Mode Fan website- how silly! He lived in T.J., Mexico at the time. We have spent holidays at my father's old place in Baja over the years, and remain close today. This was never a romance, but a genuine connection. My husband's jealous streak, is very much in check.

I think the point being made is its an extravagant request. I just find it ironic that Kate complains about iPods which are $199, but brags about treating herself to moisturizer at $200. I guess when it's herself 200 bucks is okay.

I suspect that Halle wanted a baby (she was in her 40's) and she had a gorgeous boy friend, younger Gabriel, and it appears she moved on. I see this in Kate as well. She got the multiples she planned to have and moved on. The parental alienation is so sad and sickening. Been there and survived it, but I have not forgotten the experience.

Speaking of interviews with the kids I remember on that ask Kate episode Kate said the kids want her to date they want a new guy around. But when interviewed on the couch most of the kids said actually we don't want her to date we want things just as they are. It's all on film and in the recap. After that I never believed a single thing out of her mouth about how the kids really think and feel. She lost all credibility. What did she think, that they wouldn't ask the kids??

~~~~~
I remember that and people were so up in arms about it, but I looked at that differently. I think that was probably about the first time the crew threw Katie under the bus and showed the public what the kids were REALLY thinking. I don't think Kate had *any* clue they would ask the kids that question.
It was one of the first times TLC really showed her as being an out and out liar and it was a positive moment for the kids, for once.
Actually that's a great point, the iphone IS an ipod. It is an almost identical interface, identical headphones, identical quality. In fact apple is having trouble selling ipods because the phones accomplish the same thing. Their only market is very young kids who don't have phones. I wouldn't be surprised if they get out of the ipod business in the next few years. It's doubtful if a kid has the full shebang with the iphone they would be interested in an ipod.
