Pit Bulls and Parolees says Kate 'knows nothing about pit bulls'

The dog rescuer and pit bull expert seen on Animal Planet says Kate's negative retweets about the breed are 'nonsense' and the oft-vilified dogs are 'very loving, very protective and gentle around children.'

Courtesy of "Pit Bulls and Kids," stubbydog.org

Kate's done it again. Last week Jon's girlfriend tweeted two remarkably sweet and candid Instagram photos, each featuring one of the sextuplets (one of the girls and one of the boys) lovingly cuddling with her pit bull. We've never seen the children look so relaxed, happy and natural. In typical fashion however, along came Kate to ruin it all. Subsequently, Kate retweeted some negative tweets about injuries to children as a result of pit bull attacks. A twitter war ensued, the champions of the misunderstood breed on one side, Kate maintaining her passive aggressive stance on the other. Several people pointed out that Kate's German Shepherd Shoka also makes the "dangerous breeds" lists.

Yesterday, Animal Planet star Tia Maria Torres spoke out in support of the breed, pointing to the nanny dog's good nature with children, and saying she would send Kate some educational DVDs on the dogs. Torres said aggressive and ignorant owners are responsible for attacks. Meanwhile, Animal Planet's web site has called the breed eager to please, faithful, enthusiastic friends and pleasant with children.

"Kate should know better than anyone what it's like to be vilified, what it’s like for people to say untruths about you," Torres said. "I would also like to know if Kate has had any personal experiences with pit bulls that she believes she is the authority on their behavior." Oh, snap!
Helen Keller and her pit Sir Thomas

Famous pit bull owners who also have children in the home include Michael J. Fox (who even gave voice to a pit bull determined to make it home to his family in the classic 1993 family film Homeward Bound), Jamie Foxx, and Alicia Silverstone, whose son Bear is 18 months old. Helen Keller also owned a pit bull.

Suggestion for Kate: Next time you have an issue with someone who is around your children, pick up the phone and call them and discuss it like grown adults. Leave Twitter and your fans out of it.

The book (Small Sacrifices) is better than the movie. It is a page turner. Ann Rule really got inside that woman's head. I used to be an avid true crime reader and had quite a collection but I lost track of my books over the years.

20/20 on TLC is showing her biological daughter that she was pregnant with during her trial. She is a beautiful girl and appears to have a beautiful soul as well. She became so frightened of the letters she received from Diane when she decided to contact her that she broke off communication.

On a lighter note here's a trick to getting getting the cranberry sauce out of the can which I am sure everyone already knows but just in case I will share. You open the top of the can, remove the lid and turn it upside down on the plate. Then you open the other end and give it a little push with the lid intact and it will slide out perfectly, basically removing the can from the sauce. I learned that a little late after having a mauled a few cans trying to get it out in one piece like my mother. Works best when chilled.

CNN Profiles: The psychopath detector

http://cnnradio.cnn.com/2012/11/09/cnn-profiles-the-psychopath-detector/?hpt=hp_c2

Are you or is someone you know a psychopath?

You may not know for sure until you listen to this week’s CNN Profile of Oxford University research psychologist Kevin Dutton.

Dutton is author of the new book “The Wisdom of Psychopaths.”

As he explains in this interview, not all psychopaths are violent. In fact, there are many highly functioning psychopaths. One may even be your boss. And you can’t judge if a person is a psychopath by simply looking at him, or even from a brief conversation.

Dutton maintains that many people have great success in highly skilled fields not in spite of but BECAUSE of certain psychopathic traits, including a British neurosurgeon he interviewed.

Dutton may have been destined to study psychopaths. His father was one. Not a violent psychopath. A charming one, as so many are. Wait until you hear Dutton describe how his father once conned a restaurant full of patrons.

After you listen to our interview with Professor Dutton – you can spend some time on a psychopathy questionnaire - a "quiz" short version or a sign in for a longer one. Neither will provide a diagnosis. But your psychopathy radar will be better than ever.... [more at the link]

Admin-thank you for posting the link to the 20/20 clip about Diane Downs. I had seen the movie "Small Sacrifices" with Farrah Fawcett, but never saw any of the interviews with Diane Downs. The video really showed what a monster she is. I am glad that her daughter(the last one born) is doing well now and it seems like her other 2 children are also. How do you ever get over the fact that your mother tried to kill you?

Regarding getting cranberry sauce out of the can: After removing the top, turn over and use an old fashioned beer can opener. Put a few holes in the bottom and the sauce slides right out. It just needs air to move out.

I watched the 20/20 clip about Diane Downs' daughter Rebecca. I had read the book and seen the TV movie with Farrah Fawcett. I thought of Kate right away, not that she has murdered anyone! But the forensic psychologist's words were ringing in my ears "no remorse,' "no empathy" and how the children were for their love of her, not vice versa. Amazing how her daughter, this young woman, has turned her life around after a brief downward spiral after hearing who her bio mother was. If Kate follows the pattern described, one can expect her & those like her, to become more ill, and less sane.

Mel said...

I have a beautiful cut glass dish that was my grandmother's.....she and I always served the canned cranberry sauce in it. So fun. Always sparkly and red.

I would love a thread about the Downs' case!

I have to admit I was disappointed people did not comment more about Pits Bulls and Parolees but I don't think many people watch it. (Give it a try and you'll be hooked on the show and how wonderful this family is , and the amazing work they do for the dogs and the young men) Tia is very genuine, likeable, and such a cut above Kendra, Kate and the likes, despite her outward 'tough' exterior- she's not afraid to cry for a dog in peril though.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I took the psychopath quiz and scored "below average" lol well I guess that's good?

Here are some of the things that have practically been retweets from Kate:

If something better (Kendra) comes along it's OK to cancel a longstanding appointment (Coupon Cabin).

Seeing an animal injured or in pain doesn't bother me in the slightest. (How cute, Shoka ate a whole animal!)

It doesn't matter if I have to step on other people to get what I want.

I'm very persuasive. I have a talent for getting other people to do what I want.

If you're able to con someone, that's their problem. They deserve it.

Rules are meant to be broken.

My brother just called with some interesting news. We live in MN...land of tornadoes. In May/June.

Well, he just got hit by one last night. All of his 200 year old oak trees are down, all of his millions of leaves that were in the yard (he hadn't gotten time to rake them yet) are whooshed up and gone away someplace. Luckily there was no damage to his house, only the garage, fences, and assorted stuff in the yard.

Several houses are destroyed. The neighbor had gotten up to check her computer to see what all the wind was about, and the tornado came and destroyed the house, sending the bedroom down 2 floors into the basement, with stuff on top of it. She would have been killed if she hadn't gotten up.

Trees and telephone poles are down all over, including the main road. In the dark, a driver wouldn't see that there was something in the road until too late. So my brother went out there and directed traffic until 3 am, when the highway patrol took over.

He couldn't catch everyone, so some people did run over branches. He said it was nice to see that people turned around and came back to see what the heck they'd hit. Nice to see responsible people in the world! (We'd had an incident this year where someone local hit a person and killed them and just kept on driving home. Hid their car in the garage, and refused to come forward when it became apparent that they'd actually hit a person.)

Guess I know what I'll be doing today! My other brothers, their families, me and my family are all going up there to see what we can do to help. My brother thought we'd be needed to help sort thru the damage, looking for personal belongings. He said to bring tarps, hammers/nails, the generator.
And to dress warmly, cuz it's gonna snow!

Formerly Duped said...

No. I put that too! I think it's a good quality.

Speaking of plumbing issues personal and homewise, is there a brand of tp that is soft and disolves faster in the pipes to not cause blockages in the pipes?

Observation: The cheaper the tp, the more glue they use at the beginning of each roll. Just love wrestling with a new roll of tp when I'm in a hurry.

"All those difficult people"?? Geez I only have one or two difficult people in my life and they're not that bad at all and certainly don't consume so much of my thoughts that I feel the need to retweet platitudes about how they've taught me how not to be. I haven't been around in a few days and haven't read all the comments but I have to chime in on cranberry sauce. Cranberries are a huge business around here but no one, and I mean no one, I know makes or even likes homemade cranberry sauce. We all prefer Ocean Spray canned sauce. Open up both ends and wiggle it out onto a gorgeous serving dish and slice accordingly. But the best part about TG is using the leftover turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce in a sandwich. Yum!

With regard to Colorado State University...I find it interesting that a college student would be on this website in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. And she says we have nothing better to do. Sounds like she/he has nothing better to do.

I always have a bag of cranberries in the freezer (they freeze great!) for making my much loved cranberry mayo for leftover turkey sandwiches. Easy as pie, boil up the cranberries with a little water and a little sugar, stir until they pop and turn into jam, takes about 10 minutes. Then let cool and mix one part cranberry with one part mayo. YUM.

Also sometimes I will pop some in the microwave, let cool and add it to water. It gives it a great natural flavor and is good for your bladder too.

I also adore dried cranberries on salad. Always have a container of those in the pantry too.

It makes sense she'd retweet that. Those "difficult" people were the ones who tried to help her understand there was something horribly wrong with her behavior, the ones who begged her to stop exploiting her kids. They were the people who tried to get her to seek help and medication.
If she would have listened she probably wouldn't have beat her kids, abused her husband and booted everyone to the curb who tried to help her. She wouldn't be the raging narcissist she is today.

Yeah when she says families she means, just mine. Everyone else? I demand they never let their dog around my kids!

It's SO obvious she is jealous of the kids' happiness with another woman I can practically smell it.

And give credit where credit is do. Kate didn't get them Shoka. TLC did. And Jon was there, too, by the way.

I salute all who valiantly fought and died for our freedom. They are our honored heroes.

Probably another command performance for the hired help. Show up, Shut up, do chores, eat and get out. CACKLECACKLECACKLE!!!!!!!!!

One thing is for sure, she has a pen and paper with her to write down all the recipes and ideas from this blog so she can call them "her traditions", and so she can 'organize', 'mastermind', and 'instruct' Katherine accordingly.

So will she treat her 6 fans to a blog post about another 15 pounds of homemade potato salad and then we find out her kids werent even there,AGAIN, and she spends another holiday organizing her bathroom? Why did she have Katherine make all that potato salad again?

Thanks, I love that poem, and it's very moving. It's why we wear poppies. In Canada, Remembrance Day is also today, and celebrates the living and dead of war iirc? Here on Veterans' day, it's the dead of war, is that correct?

I'm all for not overs-scheduling kids, but there is such a thing as under-scheduling the poor kids too.
************************
You say this directly after saying that they should have a "nice full schedule of things to do all weekend like normal kids." Not all "normal" kids have a full schedule of activities because not all "normal" parents believe that children's every moment should be structured.

Why are they still thanking you? They have learned that if they don't praise every breath you take...every move you make...every step you take there will be hell to pay. Many of the lyrics to this song fit Kate....

Every bond you break
Every game you play
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake

Your kids are watching you and they will someday be thankful because you are showing them exactly who they do not want to be.

SONYA S SWEET POTATO CORNBREAD
FROM CHEF SONYA BROWN, THE SEA SHACK, HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA

peel and dice one pound sweet potatoes (usually one large sweet potato), cover with water in put and add one and one half cups sugar, boil until sweet potato is tender (about 20 min). Remove potatoes from water, continue to let the water boil until thick, save syrup for the bread. ( don't let it burn like I did)
Mix in bowl: 2 cups fine cornmeal, 2 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 1/2 tablespoon jerk seasoning, 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg, 2 tablespoons baking powder.
Add to dry ingredients: 1/2 cup applesauce and enough water for a pancake batter consistency, then add sweet potatoes.
Put in greased pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 90 minutes. Pour syrup over warm cornbread then serve.
This is very yummy, almost tastes like gingerbread, and it is a terrific dessert warm and with cool whip on top!
They just give the recipe away at the Sea Shack, they told me people ask for it all the time, and they are happy to oblige.

Normal, my daughter had extra curricular activities that she chose to participate in. However, we limit the amount of these activities that she could be involved with at one time. With these activities, school, homework, and chores, we wanted to just have time to herself. To get together with friends, etc.

We felt is was important for her to have free time to be with friends to go shopping, walk up to Burger King for lunch, or just hang out together and talk. I understand where Admin is coming from. The G kids need more time away from home, away from Kate, and to spend time with kids other than their siblings.

Kate keeps them so isolated it's sad.

Something else that is good to put in dressing that is a little sweet is sweet potatoes cut in small pieces. I love them in my dressing. If don't put them in the dressing while it is cooking, I will cut some canned sweet potatoes up to put in at least minute.

When we get the recipes up, I am going to post my mothers's candied sweet potatoes. Great with ham, turkey, pork chops, chicken, etc. Delicious. I called my sister to go over with me again how our mother did it. She was a black cast iron skillet salt and pepper cook but oh so good and really simple. I have a large skillet but am always on the look out at yard sales (best when old), especially for a dutch oven.

In Canada we had Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, who sexually assaulted and murdered 3 teenagers, one of whom was Karla's sister, whom she was giving to Paul as a present.

When arrested, Karla played the victim role, blamed it all on Bernardo, was the innocent dupe of a sexual deviate. She was given a reduced sentence and is now free, married, with children.

Later evidence showed that she had fooled everybody; that she was an instigator and enthusiastic participant in the crimes.By then it was too late to retry her, Bernardo got life, essentially without parole.

Videos of Karla are eerily like those of Kate before the kids were born, the same immature little girl-cheerleader persona (Wheeee!)Later pics of Karla also appear eerily like Kate in expression: no remorse, apparent contempt for others, dead eyes.

She was able to fool the police and the judiciary, and do a deal which meant she didn't have to face a jury to account for her behaviour.

Right, I'm not saying kids should be running around like crazy, in fact I specifically said overscheduling isn't good lol. I'm saying it is bizarre that they are not filling their time with school, friends, out and about and the like to constantly, near every weekend per her tweets, be playing just with each other, be preoccupied with Kate and things like her books, be doing constant movie nights just with her.

Whether you call time with school, extended family and friends and the like as scheduled time or just "free" time, I think we're talking about the same thing--the point being the amount of time Kate claims they spend locked in the house like Flowers in the Attic preoccupied with her and their siblings is not normal.

A big part of me doesn't even believe that they are all there half the time Kate says they are, so this could be a moot point. Hey Kate, if one or two are at a friends or at Jon's, it's okay not to pretend they are home. It really is.

REQUEST FOR ADMIN - I know this would be awkward and probably difficult and I haven't really earned the right to ask, but it's worth a shot.

Is there any way the food/holiday posts could be kept mostly to one thread and the KG/other OT topics to another? I try to scroll over what I don't want to read, but it's tricky, and I do get caught up in what people are saying. The holidays make me EXTREMELY UNHAPPY - no family, unavailable friends, and I'm not in a position to do anything useful for anyone else. And I haven't had anything resembling REAL food since I've been in the hellhole (5 1/2 months). And no cats - they don't even bring in therapy dogs. :-( I'd love to feel happy for you guys, and I really do, but it's just really hard to be bombarded. Not here, you guys don't bombard, but the TV, and every time you make a phone call and get put on hold, and it's only going to get worse. So if there's any way of doing this without inconveniencing anyone, I'd appreciate it. I'm doing enough crying as it is.

Amy thanks for the feedback--I'm not sure what to do about that. I do have separate recipe and gardening threads but no one seems to go in there.

The problem is I think having more than one thread it's less likely people will bother to check both, it's more "work." Also I hesitate to "separate" the group if that makes sense. I'd rather we all be in this together. Let me think about it maybe there is a creative solution.

Explanation of the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran's Day, also Armed Forces Day.

"In the United States, according to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, "Memorial Day (the last Monday in May) is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. While those who died are also remembered, Veterans Day (Nov. 11) is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military -- in wartime or peacetime."

"Armed Forces Day, however, is celebrated on the third Saturday in May and it honors active-duty personnel."

LMG- Thank you. I've always loved Winnie the Pooh and when a sheeple took my regular user name I was trying to think of something Kate related, but not too icky ;) That's cute about your grandson, does he collect Poohs?

Formerly Duped (I think) - I HIGHLY recommend the Comfy Cone for dogs/cats that need e-collars. I have tried pretty much every e-collar out there for my allergy boy that literally lived in an e-collar for 3 years until his allergy shots finally started working and the Comfy Cone is the best one, IMO. You can get them at amazon.com and petsmart. They even come in sizes small enough for cats/tiny dogs which can't be said for all e-collars. My poor allergy boy got so used to his that he got upset when we took it off him :( Here is a link so you can see what it looks like.

Thank you to Aekudo (I know I butchered that, I apologize) and Butterfly for speaking up about the slut shaming. I was going to when I posted, but now I will just echo your sentiments.

BTW, regarding her sex tape, that was a tape made by her ex-high school boyfriend when she was 18. He sold it to Vivid without her knowledge or permission and she went to court to stop the release. She eventually started her own company to CONTROL the release so it was on her terms.

I'm sorry, but I can't blame her for that. If anyone is going to be making money on it, it should be her. Not some random company that was going to release it without her permission.

There is zero indication that her preferred method of career is sex tapes. Her most current work has been reality tv shows. She has been featured in Playboy, but so have many respectable actresses (and actors in the sister publication Playgirl).

Kendra has also been open about her post-partum depression, for which I give her kudos. Oh and by the way, as far as we know she is not abusing her pets or picking Hank, Jr. up by his hair and whipping him into his crib on a routine basis.

Lots of people make mistakes when they are young. I guess all of you people that are judging her have been perfect your entire lives?

Also, to Paula, there are duggies and low-lifes in EVERY walk of life, as Butterfly mentioned. The porn industry is actually well regulated (if we are not talking about the underground here). They don't want things to happen to their stars anymore than a regular movie company does. They don't make money that way.

I don't watch porn, it's not my thing, but to each their own. However, if I had the choice as an adult of having Kate or Kendra for a mom, I'd rather have Kendra. At least she's not a lying, child/animal abuser and a grifter. Her website is a hell of a lot better, too!

I also give her a pass on the swearing. Swearing doesn't make you a bad parent. We don't know if she swears in front of her kids or not, but even if she does, it doesn't make her a bad parent. I know plenty of excellent parents that swear.

What point are you making? Robert may not have been right about financing (and hold a second, just because it's ABC doesn't mean your production company didn't join in to finance) but he seems to have gotten most of the story right. It doesn't bother me if you get one or two minor points wrong. That happens in normal conversation. It's a rumor mill, the idea is to at least get the main points correct. Ideally all but that's not realistic.
