Jodie Foster: 'If I had to grow up in this media culture, I don’t think I could survive it emotionally'

Dang, even Jodie Foster is now describing child stardom as the 'cruelty of a life lived as a moving target' and says you have to 'submerge beneath the foul air and breathe through a straw.' Holy moly.

I don't care if I turned out just fine, you idiots, child stardom still SUCKS: Foster
says when she worked with Stewart on
The Panic Room,  she tried to get
Stewart's mother to talk young Kristen out of acting.
Oh, snap. Turns out Jodie Foster thinks
child stardom is just as horrendous as
we've always tried to tell you it is.
The former child star, so-often cited by naive pro-child exploiters as a "success story" and proof child stardom is not that bad after all, is finally done with playing nice after another former child star, Kristen Stewart, has spent the past few weeks having an unfortunate misstep plastered all over the tabloids. Foster has pretty much avoided the typical pitfalls of former child stars. The drugs, the partying, the depression, the reckless behavior, the affairs .... well, there was that little presidential assassination attempt that was pretty much all about her, but otherwise, she came through her childhood fairly unscathed despite working since she was three years old and having no memory of ever not being famous.

But, now Foster flat out says there is no way she would want to be a child star in today's culture. In fact, she would call for someone to help lead her out of it (Oh, you mean like Aunt Jodi tried to?): "I would only hope that someone who loved me, really loved me, would put their arm around me and lead me away to safety."

Foster has been rather polite and tight lipped about child stardom previously, however she recently described her mother, who managed her career, as a "mostly negative influence in my life."

An absolute must read: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/08/15/jodie-foster-blasts-kristen-stewart-robert-pattinson-break-up-spectacle.html

I've been on vacaton (paid for it myself, no grifting) and returned to a computer that wasn't working. Using my iPad I was able to read the posts, but not comment on them. This morning my hubby fixed my computer and here I am. Love my hubby!

It was really sad to see the trolls invading this wonderful site.
Admin does a great job providing a place where different points of view can be discussed in a civil manner. And, I for one, would like to see 15 minutes continue. Dealing with trolls isn't our first rodeo and it won't be the last. Long time posters know the writing style of the regular posters. The drive-by posters are always suspect for me.
As for Anonymous posters, I don't read their posts.

So many posters have already said what I was going to say...Kate's 15 minutes are up. She has fallen a long way down the hill from when she was a star and receiving the star treatment. Now she's grifting for a one-week vacation house and toilet paper. The show(s) was all about money for TLC. Nothing more, nothing less. If the "talent" doesn't bring in the ratings, advertisers don't advertise, and money isn't made. Add in fact the the show was getting too expensive to produce.
Bottom line...expenses too high, revenue does not cover expenses equal cancelled show. And, TLC moves on to the next "talent". Kate is now at home wondering what she's going to do next for her career. Which brings us up to branding, a la' selling Bella Bars, contacting QN, Coupon Cabin (still don't get that one), etc. What we are witnessing is the continued downward spiral of Kate's hopes and dreams. And I suspect Kate is not a happy camper these days.

The next chapter in this saga is how the children will react when they learn about how their childhoods were sold for fame and fortune for their parents.

And lastly, what's the status on the August publication of the GosselinBook. Does anyone know?

What is ironic is that if you go to the QN facebook page there are a lot of people requesting coupons and QN says they have no coupons. They might have had some at BlogHer12, but that doesn't help the average person. Then factor in that Kate works for Coupon Cabin, yet she is promoting a product that offers no coupons. Tells you where her loyalty lies which is no surprise to anyone.

In fact, I just went to CC site and typed in various brands of TP and there were grocery coupons for Cottonelle, Charmin, and Angel Soft, but when I typed in Quilted Northern it said "No grocery coupons are available".

If I log on through firefox, I don't get the comment as box, but the publish and preview options show up. They just won't allow me to do anything.

If I log in through google chrome, It says "google account" but not my google name. Then when I hit preview or publish, my comment disappears into cyberspace.

For reason too complicated to explain, I cannot use IE on my laptop.

I am using a friends computer to post this, and going to name/url.

I want to go BLUE! Can anyone help?

Regarding Reality TV kids...

"The woman who dressed her young daughter as Dolly Parton - complete with a padded bra and sculpting underwear - for a child beauty pageant that aired on TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras" could lose custody of the girl after her estranged husband claimed she sexually exploited their daughter by allowing her to dress so provocatively.

Little Maddy Verst's appearance in the costume on an episode of the controversial TLC program sparked a firestorm of criticism against her mother, Lindsay.

Her father, Bill Verst, has asked a Kentucky court to grant him sole custody of his daughter, who is now 6.

During a court proceeding Saturday, a judge threw reporters out of the courtroom, closed the hearing and placed a gag order on mother Lindsay Jackson. The judge also imposed a ban on any pageant activity for Maddy or her mother for the duration of the trial.

A court-appointed psychologist has sided with Maddy's father, condemning the Parton costume and recommending that a judge make Verst the girl's sole custodial parent.

Jackson said the costume was never meant to be sexual and that she shouldn't be at risk of losing her daughter.

If the judge grants Verst's petition because Maddy did pageants with her mother, "then that opens the door for any parent to challenge anybody on any activity that a kid does, period," Jackson told FOXNews.com.

Jackson dressed her daughter herself in the Dolly Parton costume, telling the TLC show's cameras, "When she wears the fake boobs and the fake butt, it's just like an added extra bonus and it's really funny when she comes out on stage and everybody thinks it's hysterical."

Not everybody thought it was hysterical, however. Some online commenters were quick to express their disgust for the costume and for the perceived sexualization of little girls on the show.

It's not the first time a pageant mother has come under fire on the show.

Wendy Dickey was condemned for dressing her 3-year-old daughter, Paisley, in a racy costume that mimicked the outfit worn by Julia Roberts' prostitute character from the movie "Pretty Woman."
The costume consisted of a fitted, skin-baring white blouse, tight blue mini-skirt and thigh-high, shiny black boots. Paisley wore it all - complete with a blond wig, which Roberts' prostitute character also wore - and critics and children's advocates erupted in outrage.

The court proceedings in Maddy's custody case resume Aug. 31"

Hey Kate? This is how people with class behave when there are young children involved. From Us.com

Friendly exes is an understatement.

Denise Richards threw a party at home in Beverly Hills over the weekend for ex-husband Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller.

The 41-year-old actress tweeted about the unusual gathering on Sunday, writing, "Having a party today . . . ex-wife No. 2 (me) is having ex-wife No. 3 (Brooke) birthday party at my house . . . oh and our ex-husband will be here. How's your Sunday?"

But you Katie just keep on keepin' on with your parent alienating. Keep on trashing the father of your children in public. Keep on making sure your sick need to punish Jon is more important than being a good role model for your kids. Keep on making sure you get in all the snarky and lying by omission comments on twitter that you can. Feeding the fury of your rabid sheeple is waaaaay more important than behaving like a lady and an adult.

Kate has a new blog up at CC--"Kate’s Tips: 5 Easy Expenses to Cut". Highlights:

•First, we use the store brand items whenever possible

•Second, instead of going to the movie theater at up to ten dollars a ticket (not to mention snacks for 8 kids!), we wait for the movie to come out on DVD and make our own popcorn for our beloved family movie night

•Third, although I LOVE my drive-thru Starbucks run, I have long ago limited that to a weekly treat. Instead, I buy disposable coffee cups in bulk at my local restaurant supply store and make my own “to go” coffee! The same goes for take out. Our rule is that we only eat out when traveling or for a “once in a huge while” treat. We save major money this way!

•Fourth, you may already know that I pack eight school lunches daily! Buying a daily school lunch is another way that many people spend a lot of unnecessary money. I buy little disposable soufflĂ© cups with lids in various sizes at my local restaurant supply store to pack very elaborate and efficient lunches

•And finally, don’t forget to repurpose and reuse what you already have. We unknowingly waste so much money only because we forget to see the opportunity to reuse things we already have!

Finally some sanity amidst a jungle of insanity. How sad that it takes a psychologist and a judge to do some parents thinking for them.

On the one hand we have programs on tv like America's Most Wanted imploring people to keep their children safe and to always be on the lookout for pedos (among other perps), and on the other hand, we have shows that promote sexualization of children. What a world.

"elaborate" lunches? What exactly are those?

She could fill a landfill with all the disposable things she uses. I bought my kids various size food containers from PBK on sale their first year of school for a total of maybe $20.00. Four years and countless lunches later, I have spent way less than she has on her disposable containers.

The CC column was ok ( thanks for posting) but sort of slap-dash. These are all things she talked about before. We know about the 'famous' lunches, YUM! We know she rinses baggies- no lie- . We KNOW about 'typical' movie night. We know everything about her life since she tweets her every move. Also they are not new ideas as posters have pointed out. She could have done a whole lot more and research NEW ideas or products to save on. Store brand-sometimes- unless a sale on name brand. Also quality varies. Kate should invest in a dollar store coffee cup- non-disposable- meant for cars/carry-out. (although don't drink while driving, Kate!)

" They have watched the fertility therapies that have led to an increase in multiple births, and are aware of the Gosselin family, the subject of the Jon and Kate Plus Eight reality television series, and Nadya Suleman, the Octomom.

"You know, I think they're after the money, versus we at the time didn't care about that," Tom says. "We just wanted to be normal." "

____________________________________________

So true. We all know that not taking the tups to the movies has nothing to do with the cost and everything about control. She cannot handle taking them all out at the same time, by herself. Her laziness and comfort level comes way before allowing her 6 youngest to have normal childhood experiences. There are a million ways to take kids to the movies, inexpensively. But she chooses to ignore them, so her story is that movies tickets are $10 apiece and theater popcorn is expensive. And she's sticking to it.

It's the same flawed logic she uses to justify why she's an almost unemployed twitter grifter instead of a registered nurse. Because registered nurses ONLY work 12 hr. shifts 6 days a week. There are no other shifts available to registered nurses, just that one.

She is such a useless jerk.

There's no common sense there at all. Maybe she doesn't want to use a travel mug because she needs the other cups to make it feel like she bought the coffee at Starbucks! A travel mug would be too mediocre. It's what the common folks do.

"I think it depends on the browser you're using. In IE, it shows different shades of blue-in Chrome, they're all the same shade."

"Mine is light, as is Auntie Anns, and Crazy. All of the rest are dark blue."

Don't these kids deserve to be able to buy school lunches with the rest of their classmates? For example, for $4.45, with the hot combo, they would get a hot entree, salad or soup, dessert or beverage. There is also a pasta combo, soup and salad combo, and cold combo for the same price. I'd like to know exactly how much she saves by packing a lunch if she makes "elaborate" lunches for them. Then again, if she let them buy their lunches, she couldn't whine about the trials and tribulations of packing them.

Remona! Good for you. I didn't have problems signing up for the account, it was that darn avatar thing. I knew how to do it, but for some reason it kept telling me that all of the pictures were "corrupt," even ones in my own files.

*Sniff, sniff* oh why oh why is Kate's life so hard? It just isn't fair, is it? It's not fair that Kate has 8 kids to support as a "single" mom. What kind of world is it that she has to scrimp and save in order to afford a beach vacation or of all things, GASP, coffee!

OH PLEASE!!

Kate, for the life of me life is not that hard! Haven't you ever hear the fact that there will always be someone who has things WORSE than you do? Doesn't sound like you have but guess what? There is.

There are moms who live in their car with their 6 kids and work two jobs rather than go home to be abused by their spouses.

A real single mom with no father in the picture for her kids who just got laid off a second time in two months and has no idea how she is going to pay the bills this month.

And I hate to sound cruel but there are kids out there who have things worse off than your kids. The only reason your kids haven't been the movies is because you won't take them simple as that. What about the kids who are homeless but still pull in good grades, do you think they get to go to the movies? Probably not.

Your once a week coffee treat, that's what $4-6 a buy? And with four weeks in a month if you skip that once a week treat you'll have saved...maybe about $30 so bucks since you talk about saving, scrimping, pinching by these days. Do you not know what you could do for $30? You could probably go to a movie. The thing is, if you go to a movie, you don't NEED to buy snacks.

Why is it that just because you go see a movie you have to eat something? Isn't going to the movie the treat in itself? You can eat before you leave home, or take chewing gum if you need something to chew on. Your kids will live if they don't get popcorn at the movies I promise.

Parents aren't perfect and kids just shouldn't expect everything but come on you as a parent shouldn't need to constantly whine about things. Either you figure out how to do things because whining about it on a stupid blog isn't going to make things land in your lap (although I'm starting to wonder.)

Instead of buying bottled water all the time, buy a filter and a reusable water bottle that's plastic. I've seen pictures of Kate sucking down bottled water and that right there is an expense in itself.

You can cut money by replacing your kids juice intake with water intake.

Your biggest cost? I am probably going to guess it's your cell phone bill, lord I can only imagine the cost of that thing and how much you use it.

Another one to cut expenses so maybe a treat for your kids could be to buy school lunch once in a while is to skip on buying organic once in a while. I mean if it's something you just have to have that's fine but I think buying non-organic once in a while is a bit cheaper on some things.

But I'll give you the one thing, cutting on eating out but come on, almost everyone who is a parent out there knows that trick. Duh.

Kate I still think you need a job, a hobby, a social life, you know, friends...you do remember what those are, right? And a good kick or two to get you off your butt every now and then wouldn't hurt either.

I sound really mean but I felt I needed to say it. I hope not to have offended anyone here. If I have I am really sorry.

This is OT but so funny I just had to share, especially for the other grandma's on here. My son in law has recently decided he loves fishing. He has been taking my older grandson fishing and he loves it too. My youngest grandson, who is 3, also wants to fish. They have been watching a sow with fishermen and my daughter said they say 'oh crap' pretty often, so of course 3 year old picked that up. So she had to tell him we don't talk like that. On Saturday while shopping in the rain, as he was climbing in the truck to get to his car seat, he stepped on daughters seat and left a wet footprint and he said 'oh no!'. A few seconds later he said, 'good thing I didn't say oh crap'! We have laughed and laughed about that.

Gawd, I would love to know what she packs for lunch everyday. She thinks that we don't know the real reason she packs their lunches: portion control and calorie control. I could understand that if the kids were battling their weight, but why not allow a hot lunch once in a while?

I wonder if she will be contacting her favorite pap to take back-to-school pictures. Oh wait, she'll do that herself since no pap is interested any longer.

I hope the kids have a great and productive school year. Feel bad for their teachers, though, with a parent like Kate. Didn't Kate get a bus driver fired?

Anonymous said...

Why is it that just because you go see a movie you have to eat something? Isn't going to the movie the treat in itself? You can eat before you leave home, or take chewing gum if you need something to chew on. Your kids will live if they don't get popcorn at the movies I promise.

++++++++

Here's the thing, though. Those kids have earned popcorn at movies! If mommy can go to New York to get her hair done, and pay for tanning salon memberships and eat at the Fig and Olive once a month, then darn it, the kids should be able to get popcorn at movies! It's the hypocrisy of it all that is so maddening!

I see nothing wrong with the Greatest Mother of All Time, or any other mediocre mom, packing lunches to try to save some money. I do, however, have a problem with the Greatest Mother of All Time yammering on and on about saving money while using massive quantities of disposable products, and crowing about her amazing "elaborate" lunches. What the heck? Is she painting the Sistine Chapel artwork on their chips? Is she chiseling ice sculptures to put in their lunch boxes? She really is a strange egg.

Tucker's Mom said...

I know the kids will grow up to find out how their own mother put her needs before theirs in many instances. How their mother splurges on trips, hair, surgeries and other procedures, shoes, cars, fine dining while they had to sit at home and not see movies and not join teams and not eat out.
The irony is that Kate just got a free $4500 beach house for a week and BITCHED about budgeting for it, yet won't spare $100 to take them all to the movies and get them some damn popcorn.

Oh dear lord Kate. Ever heard of a travel mug?

++++++

There's no common sense there at all. Maybe she doesn't want to use a travel mug because she needs the other cups to make it feel like she bought the coffee at Starbucks! A travel mug would be too mediocre. It's what the common folks do.
____________________________________

Disposable, disposable, disposable everything. Those two dishwashers are nothing but eye candy. Something she thought looked cool and movie-starish. But apparently not to fill up with dishes, coffee cups and containers that can be washed and reused for years.

FYI said...

When she was talking about the disposable container for school lunches, she also said:

"This way, I can still save tons of money while packing my kids a nutritionally balanced and organic lunch!"

Of course, no blog of hers would be complete without the word "organic".

So she saves money by not buying lunches-yet, she's wasting money by buying disposable souffle cups.

Contradictions galore in that post, Kate.

Oh dear god, now her school lunches are both "elaborate and efficient" - wtf does that even mean? And note to Ms. Organic, you make me laugh with your "elaborate" overuse of all things disposable. Have you ever heard the phrase 'carbon footprint'? Paper coffee cups? Buy a travel mug. Souffle cups? I imagine you are delighted with the tiny weeny portion control you get with those. Stupid, stupid woman. Your kids are not pre-schoolers - make them a lunch for a hungry child and get rid of the chips/dips and other crap you call lunch.

Kate talks about waiting for a movie to come out on DVD to cut expenses---BUT she and the twins went to the movie theatre to see Hunger Games!! Why didn't SHE wait until it came out on DVD?

My grandchildren rarely go to the movies and do watch movies on DVD's. But it's not due to the expense, it's because they are involved in other things. Going to the movies is a special treat, that they remember long after they have gone. I remember when I took my grandson to see a real movie in a theatre, he was so excited, that to this day, he still talks about it.

That's what making memories is about-you don't have to take them to the movies all the time, but you should at least take them once in awhile. I'm sure they're more likely to remember something like that then all the trips they've been on.

Mediocre & perfectly fine. Those 'posed' lurches on her twitter were bogus!

(I remember on the one episode when the twins started 1st grade she mentioned several things "Cara did this beautifully; Mady does not" Several times the witch said it and Jon corrected her! Then she showed their GAP lunch boxes.)

We still joke in our family about how you could never order too much takeout pizza on the weekend, leftovers always went to school for lunches when we had leftovers. When my kids were the tups age, they wanted really simple lunches so that they still had time to play, none of them would have messed around with all that opening of small containers and packages - actually the lunch room aides would have had fits if they had had to help little kids tussling over all the packaging - Kate's lunches are much ado about wrapping not real food. School lunches are really not about adventures in eating, and while they do not have to boring, they should be unfussy and nutritious - again, sandwiches or other proteins (cheese chunks, yogurts, hardboiled eggs), fruits, treats and/or crunchy things, something to drink (water over sugary non-juice drinks anytime). If the biotch would get off Twitter, homework, showers and packing lunches would not be so overwhelming, truly.

I totally agree. It would be fun and a weekly treat for them if they could get lunch. Kate's just too much about control and her own point of view. I think daily school lunches at a private school (x8) would be expensive so I can understand packing lunches for maybe three days a week and as a treat having school hot lunch on the other two days. The children seem to have such a long day when the drive both ways is taken into account. Surely a hot lunch a couple of times a week would break the monotony of the boxed lunch. Hungry as they must be, the box lunches she prepares seem to be so boring, to say nothing of the skimpy portions.

It would be interesting to hear whether the Gosselin children are the only pupils to have box lunches every day. I'd hate to think they are. With all the revenue they have brought to the table they are more "entitled" than their parent who thinks nothing of indulging herself on the backs of the children.

Kate wants to be validated more than she wants to protect anyone from feeling badly.

Who on this blog can say they received $22,000 a month in TAX FREE child support? that would pay for a lot of lunches.
I don't mind her kids having to brown bag it (or Gap lunch box it, whatever!), but it's her penny pinching on anything that has to do with the kids, all the while she gets her hair done in NYC, runs marathons across the country, has three new cars, a shoe closet, and sees to her news with no penny pinching for herself. Most theaters offer special free or $1 movies to school aged children once per week during the summer. One of our theaters offers a "treat package" (movie, small drink and small popcorn) for $5 every once in a while.

How is buying disposable things (yeah Kate, you're real green) at a restaurant supply being economical? Buy a travel mug for your coffee (and when you make your weekly trek to Starbucks, take that mug and get 10 cents off your coffee price). Buy some tupperware or target brand small plastic containers for the kids' lunchboxes -- wash them out every afternoon and they're ready for using the next morning.

With the way she goes on, you would think that she is the first woman ever to be a mother. It's almost like she thinks because she has 8 (count 'em) kids that she is the mother of all mothers.

(including your own name) to check the profile page? When you do that, the name turns light blue. Just like on Google search, when you click on a link it turns kind of purple and remains purple for quite a few days.

I'm sorry Fake Job I don't mean all self employed people don't have real jobs. The key is you are working. A blog post once a week and a few tweets are nothing compared to what most self employed people do. I think the self employed are the key to getting this country back on its feet actually but a few tweets won't cut it. Kudos to you.

I must be mistaken. I thought things or methods were "cost effective. I had no idea people were cost effective. Kate says we are, so we must be. I'm still learning from her, aren't I?

Yeah, I took it that Kate is grifting for school supplies, hundreds of dollars. Why doesn't the 'corpse' (lol) she works for help out , like BellaBars and CoffeeMate etc?

It reminds me of Jon saying (way back during the separation episodes) that he loves "working" in NYC and then coming to "the country" to be with his family and "chill".
I'm glad one parent realizes making appearances on entertainment shows does not a job constitute.

Notice she doesn't come out and SAY she actually forked over any money, lol....maybe she's in the Target parking lot, flapping her arms and asking for donations!

What companies does she 'work' for? I guess we can give her CC.But way to go, Kate, insult your only employer by tweeting they aren't worthy of your presence in the office!

I think she mentioned recently the R&R was a 'sponsor',maybe she's thinking that is work? same as Bellabars, coffeemate, Bed Bath and Beyond?? In Kate's little brain, she probably thinks it's work...and sadly enough, it *is* work to her. so hard. sniff.

EXACTLY!

WHAT OTHER CORPS?

Uhhhh... maybe she considers running in the Rock n' Roll Marathons a job?

Is Kate a good will embassador of something?

Maybe she works for the CIA or FBI?

Once a Viewer--somewhere on your profile page there should be a line that says Display Name or maybe something like alternate name or nickname. Try entering "Once a Viewer" there and see if that works.

You KNOW she thinks that's work. Anything she gets is gotten by such hard work.
I wonder if anyone familiar with the RnR marathons could explain to me what Kate has to offer such that they pay her way?
I just don't get it.

She also has to tell us how she has spent tons of money on hundreds of school supplies. Right. I don't believe it. Why doesn't she use her coupon tips? Or maybe she has just grifted all of the supplies.

--------------------

Trust me. The kids do not need hundreds of school supplies. She's not fooling anyone here. Didn't they get new backpacks two years ago? Those should last for several years along with the lunch boxes.

Betcha someone sends her school supplies in bulk. Watch for a Twitter acknowledgment.

I also think its vaguely insulting to act so hard up all the time when your company in reality is probably giving you a very decent salary, as I'm sure CC is. Well, in Kate's world, you can count each individual crayon in the crayon box as it's own separate school supply item.
(I hope she has enough tape for her label maker, that's a lot of crayons!)
:)

...when buying school supplies for your kiddos, was anyone else sad the first year you didn't have to buy crayons? that's a slap in the face that you know your kids are growing up, kinda like the tooth fairy, easter bunny and santa. lolol.

Bingo. Kate is a coupon "expert" with a blog on CC yet she can not for the life of her figure out how to get her kids to the movies. The movies! Kids love going to the movies.
I came up with 6-7 ways to cut the costs after working on it for 5 minutes.
Kate is lazy, pure and simple. If Kate were my charge at CC, I'd have told her to nix the movie "advice" if she could not come up with something helpful to the readers who are looking to her for real help.
Folks with lots and lots less money than her.
Frankly, I find it insulting and rude to waste readers' time by not offering anything to help them. CC may be getting hits because of Kate, but they will lose readers after insulting them so many times.

Thanks Admin, that was very nice of you.

OT: I took Molly to the vet, oh that poor little doggy. She has anxiety issues and only weighs 4.6 lbs. but she was so shaky they couldn't get blood so easily, had to be stuck several times :(( The good news is it is not pancreatitis (which he did suspect) but she was dehydrated. She had to get a shot and also infusion of fluids. I was there for quite a long time. She is home now, my bill was more than Kate's was for Shoka, but I don't care because this little girl is so worth it. She is resting now. Vet gave us special food for her, she can only have a tablespoon at a time. He called it a GI upset.

Thanks for all your wonderful help, it felt good to be able to discuss with someone.

KT Twitter speak...$$$=money. She is trying to say that she has to spend hundreds of dollars on school supplies, which just might possibly be the biggest lie to date, unless she is buying a musical instrument or sports equipment. School supplies for private school are no more than regular school. She must think everyone lives under a rock and so therefore must be enlightened continuously about how much it costs to have 8 kids. She has no clue as this will be the first time she has ever had to pay out of pocket. She always made sure back to school was an episode so she didn't have to pay.

Tucker's Mom said...

Sad day. Rosie is apparently doing better. She beat the widow maker which is astonishing.
Scott and Diller, so sad. The former being such a tragedy, but at least, perhaps, he left on his terms.

Aggiemom - I know what you mean about school supplies. With "kids" in their 20s I kind of miss the shopping. So this year I volunteered through Salvation Army to buy for a local kindergartener whose family could afford supplies. It was fun, a little expensive, but not too bad. And unlike all of the other parents at Target on Sunday, no one was arguing with me about what to buy. I was surprised at how much the list has changed. Headphones for the computer! That was new.

carezee said...

And again Kate shows us just how good her organizational skills are. The kids are back to school any day and she is just out shopping for supplies now? They give you your list at the end of the school year for the next year. Why wasn't she purchasing these things a little at a time all summer? That is the way I did it. Then you don't feel the big crunch at the last minute. I use to buy periodically over the year and had a bin that I would keep them in. That way even later during the school year if they ran out of paper, glue folders etc. I always had extras in stock. Miss organizational skills indeed.

She does not consider herself unemployed because she makes some money tweeting for a few companies, Rock n Roll celebrity marathoner and CC blogger. She is, wait for it, MEDIOCRE. She is no longer a TV celeb and never will be again. It's been a year and she is earning a MEDIOCRE salary but still living high.

The ONLY reason she tweeted about school supplies was to grift. Surely some of her sheeple will send her Target gift cards! This is what she does. This is what she is.

aggiemom09121416 said...

Carezee, I do the same thing...buy a little every week (did the same thing with the college dorm thing..everything from toothpaste to medicines, socks to snacks!)

Yep, I bet you are right.

If the parents are now 50/50 custody, perhaps Kate isn't telling the whole truth? Maybe Jon is responsible for some of the supplies.

William Windom also died. He was "Seth" (the doctor) on "Murder She Wrote". Great character actor. Loved Phyllis Diller. That cackle of hers! And her "Fang" stories! She was a Buckeye (from Lima, Ohio). I googled Rosie O's heart attack. It actually happened last week. She had a stent placed and is apparently doing okay now, but had a high grade blockage of a coronary artery.

Remona!! Congrats on getting BLUE! Also to everyone else who's joined the blue party. Once -- love your popcorn avatar.

KK is such a doofus. She could go to Dollar Tree, spend less than $50, and have enough plastic containers to pack the kids lunches for the entire week without even having to wash anything. One dishwasher load every Saturday morning would take care of it. Of course, she probably considers shopping at a place like Dollar Tree beneath her. Funny thing is, her books are selling there! If Target and Staples are the 2 places she checks for school supplies, she's paying too much. Grocery stores (our local Krogers has spiral bound notebooks for $.17 this week), Big Lots, and Dollar Tree all have more supplies for less.

Re movies -- our local library has a movie night once a week. They show a family movie, free, with snacks and a drink provided. It's one of the programs our Friends of the Library sponsors. Libraries also have free passes, or 2fers for local movie theaters and amusement parks. Oh, I forgot, one must be a library patron to know about these things. She could also get 2fers for local amusement parks at area grocery stores and even fast food places. Wendys and McDonalds carries them in our area. I would assume they do so in PA too. She needs to do her homework!

Tucker's Mom said...

She needs to do her homework!
****
Amen readerlady. To even bring up movies was foolish-only to tell her readers to not go. That's just moronic. It isn't something that's so esoteric that one would be stumped as to how to save money.

tate said...

Gee, maybe I could get a "corporate job" for Coffeemate by carrying it around in my car in a cooler and then propping it on the dashboard and taking a picture of it. I wonder what my pay would be--probably a couple of coupons? Then I could call myself a corporate worker just like Kate! I would have to change my image though and go bleached blonde with hooker heels and mini skirts and hoochy shorts and a fake tan and veneers and huge, fake boobs, and blah, blah, blah. Have to have the whole MILF look. Kate considers that look a compliment!

And she is totally grifting for Target giftcards with all of the $$$$$$ relating to school supplies. Poor Kate. Should have thought about the cost of raising 8 children before you shopped around for doctors who would go along with your plan to have multiples.

FYI said...

Kate is the perfect example of the phrase "Penny wise, Pound foolish".

She doesn't buy school lunches, but she buys souffle cups that are thrown out after use and then need to be replaced.

She brings her own coffee in the car, but again uses cups that have to be replaced.

She has a lot of nerve telling people to remember to reuse items to save money. I have a new nickname for her:

Kontradictory Kate.

readerlady - I loved William Windom in "My World and Welcome To It". And to continue with your library advice, Kate could be borrowing lots of great movies and video games (PS2, PS3, XBox, WII) for FREE! She is such a dunce. Or maybe she just feels it is beneath her to go to a library.
