Philly reporter: Kate 'miserable' and 'distant' on shoot

View more news videos at: http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/video.

A Philadelphia entertainment reporter gave more details of Kate and the kids' working vacation to Philadelphia that he observed in December (just before they took off for an even bigger business trip to Australia).

  • The first stop of the trip was Starbucks
  • Confidentiality agreements were required wherever they went
  • The nanny tended to the children at lunch at Waterworks and Kate was "off to the side."
  • Steve tried to block the photos and the reporter just shot around him. Then finally Steve said fine.
  • Collin fell on the Rocky steps and Kate didn't even acknowledge him.
  • The kids looked happy but Kate appeared "miserable" and "distant"

The truth is there's enough insiders willing to go on record these days with names and photos the anonymous insiders just really aren't as necessary anymore.

It's a momentum thing, once it becomes acceptable to call Kate out, everyone joins in. The fear of being the first to say something is gone.

PJ's momma said...

At least the kids seemed happy. They do deserve that.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

You might as well make the best of a situation, be happy and have fun. Her kids get that. Her kids have more maturity than she does. Kate is the one making millions and she is a miserable wreck. Meanwhile eight beautiful kids are finding a way to have fun despite their childhoods being slashed away with each reel. Good for them.

PJ's momma said...

Kate has created her own misery. Let her wallow in it. Who cares? All I care about is the well-being of those kids. I have very little hope anymore that either of their parents will do right by them. Kate doesn't care, and Jon doesn't have the $$$.

K8SUCKS said...

And out of all of this, THAT's what the sheeple will focus on :

The kids are happy! They love filming! It's good for them, they are so lucky !

The first stop of the trip was Starbucks

Yep, Queen Kate needed a caffeine fix. At least the kids got a treat.

Confidentiality agreements were required wherever they went.

As Admin pointed out the CA's are becoming less useful in covering up her behavior.

The nannied tended to the children at lunch at Waterworks and Kate was "off to the side."

This is probably why the kids were giggling and seemed to be having fun. I wonder if the chicken fingers were organic. ;)

Steve tried to block the photos and the reporter just shot around him. Then finally Steve said fine.

Steve really doesn't have the power to stop people from taking photos so of course he had to finally say "fine".

Collin fell on the Rocky steps and Kate didn't even acknowledge him.

Typical Kate.

The kids looked happy but Kate appeared "miserable" and "distant"

Good for the kids and Kate always looks that way when they're around.

Tucker's Mom said...

How is it that virtually everyone capitulates when presented with a confidentiality agreement? It puts all of these "regular folks" in jeopardy. People without Kate's money and without Kate's legal team could get into hot water if they spill anything.
Seriously, what is threatened? I can't imagine how they get everyone to sign.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I guess people in prison who have fun, giggle and make a joke once in awhile just love being there. I'm glad the kids are able to make the best of this situation. It shows character and tenacity. It's Kate who can't man up and put them first when they are having fun.

There are numerous examples of the kids being miserable on film, and there are some examples of them being happy. A smile or giggle is not indicative of whether filming is enjoyable to them, the resulting consequences are enjoyable to them, and whether it is in their best interest despite whether they enjoy it or hate it.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Why is it when the children are having a ball, like in Alaska and Philly, Kate has to be miserable? But when the kids are miserable like throwing up in North Carolina, Kate is screeching and thrilled and having the time of her life.

It's like some kind of bizarre relationship she has with them where however they feel she makes sure she feels just the opposite. It's sick and weird. Like she's doing it to try to get to them or something. Very mental.

mom of the year said...

It's so weird and unspeakably sad that Kate doesn't feel that it is her duty and privilege to take care of her own kids. I can't imagine eating in a restaurant and having someone else tend to MY kids. I found myself thinking the same thing as Kate pouted and acted like an idiot as the PALINS fed, entertained and looked after her kids. This was on camera in an area known to have bears and by a body of water that could have easily carried her kids away. All she cared about was herself and her comfort and didn't find it embarrassing or strange that everyone but she was taking care of those pathetic kids

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Thanks to Facebook and Twitter and Kate getting herself in a position where everyone is eager to call her out, the confidentiality agreements are one big joke now. You can't get the whole city to sign them or you'd be spending all your time doing it instead of filming.

Another consequence of being a bitch, no one wants to protect you anymore. The nicer you are the more apt people are to say sure I won't post that all over twitter no problem.

And if TLC had a little talk with Carla that's a joke too--even if Carla never said a word we would have figured it out hours later after someone on the plane blabbed.

PJ's momma said...

Admin, I really believe Kate cannot stand for anyone else to be happy. I remember watching the episode where she took Jon to Florida (or someplace warm) for his birthday. She sabotaged the entire trip and made it about her. She refused to wear sunscreen, said she never did, even though the sun hates her (fast forward and compare that statement and the difference between her bathing suits, and it seems sooooo funny) and got burned like a lobster, so that Jon had to take care of her. It was HIS birthday and they were on a boat and she was moaning and groaning and lying on his lap, expecting (and getting) big thanks for setting up the trip. Whenever the kids were having fun -(Crayola factory, rolling down a hill, etc.) she'd put a stop to it. If Jon was having fun with the kids, she'd stop that too, accusing him of never helping her, while he told her she never plays with her kids. She is controlling to the point of WEIRDNESS. A psychologist could have a field day with her. She is probably a text book case of something........

K8SUCKS said...

Admin, hope you don't think I was agreeing with the sheeple ! I was just predicting what they will most likely comment on - nothing else matters. They pick and choose to suit their needs at that moment, just like their idol.

Also, great observation about K8's determination to stick it to her kids whenever possible by never being supportive of their needs or feelings.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

K not at all! Just responded to that tired argument we've heard about how they love this.

Kids love to eat icecream 3 times a day too but you don't let them.

IMO she doesn't see her children as people. They are a money making machine to her so she doesn't care how they feel. Her focus is totally on herself and, in her mind, she deserves to always be the center of attention. So what if a child falls on the steps while trying to get a piece of film for her show? She'll just order them to do it over again until they get it right. If the kids are sick and vomiting the show must go on and she'll screech and draw the attention to herself as always. This pathetic excuse of a mother is completely detached from her children and I honestly don't think she cares what she puts them through as long as the money keeps rolling in.

K8SUCKS said...

Wait a minute, what's wrong with eating ice cream 3X a day ?!? LOL

"Happy" as compared to what?

They are "happy" when they are doing "normal"
things. Eating at a restaurant. Going to the beach. Running up a flight of stairs - any stairs would have probably done nicely. They would have been happy doing all this in Reading
if they could so they could be "happy" without the 20 hour flight. They would also have been "happy" to stay home and play with their dog, invite a few friends over, bake some brownies or have a romp in the snow.

The rest that Kate offers them I think they simply tolerate.

Ava said...

Why is Kate so miserable? What will it take for her to be happy?

She used to be bitchy before but now she's just vile. She really just seems like a horrible person.

I can't imagine how evil she'll be when the money runs out and she can't book anything. Not even a Today Show interview.

I had a boyfriend like that for a few years- he was very controlling and the end abusive-, but my point, he would never be happy if I was having a good time- he would be miserable. If I was miserable or out of my element, he would be having the time of his life. I had thought that was strange.(BTW, he also isolated me from friends and family, which I later found out to be very classic abusive behavior)

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Fidosmommy, spot on. They were also very happy in New York City playing on some rocks in Central Park. Not even a swingset, just natural rocks. If they wanted to play on rocks they should have stayed in Reading. But Kate can't see that at all. There's just no reason to put kids through such a grueling filming schedule for "experiences" when it's not what kids really want or need. Are some experiences like this a great thing? Absolutely. But you need to mix the exotic experiences with the simple and routine, too, like just playing on rocks with siblings or peers, for a child to develop normal social skills. These children are constantly overstimulated. I'm sure most schools especially one as good as theirs has a Philly class field trip built in anyway, probably after they study local PA history and American history. I'm guessing 5th grade maybe. It's not like they will never see Philly for pity sake.

I would love to know how all of these networks
are in bed together. I remember a couple of years ago they were showing all of the great women that were turning 50 that year and was surprised Oprah

shocking to me.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Where does this kind of behavior stem from? Is it the narcissism? I can sort of understand people who don't want others to be happy--they are probably so broken themselves it makes them jealous to see others happy when they are not. But I don't understand the second part of it what Kate also does, when others are sad she is happy. I think that's taking it to a whole other level. I think it's one thing to hate when others are happy, but quite another to be thrilled when others are sad. The latter is sort of more sinister in a way.

PJ's momma said...

K8SUCKS, that episode was sort of the turning point for me. I thought back to my husband's 40th birthday party, 6 years ago. We had a big party at a restaurant and then everyone went bowling afterward. We are well-off, so I paid for everything, and actually that gave me great joy, doing all that for him and our friends! When the time came, we ended up sitting separately at dinner and he made a speech and barely mentioned me (after thanking nearly everyone at the table), nor did we bowl together, and I admit I was hurt - but I had to put things in perspective and realize it was not personal, he was having an absolute blast and I have his attention all the time. One night wouldn't kill me. Because it wasn't about me. I was a bit hurt, but very happy for him and his excitement, if that makes sense. I could have thrown a hissy, but WHY? I would look bad and it would ruin his only 40th birthday. I later told him how I felt (during an argument where he accused me of abandoning him at an event) and he had no idea, apologized and we moved on. People still talk about that party!

I Don't Get It said...

What I don't get is how all of these networks that are giving this woman airtime such as Today, The View, Larry King etc. are all in bed together.

Linda said...

As someone raised by a classic narcissist mom, I can tell you it's a power/control thing. They ALWAYS have to be in charge, even of your emotions. If you're happy, they may not be able to control you, so they've got to do something to get the control back in their hands (and also the limelight back on them). If you're miserable, they're happy, because they feel large and in charge if you're unhappy. Does it sound sick? That's because it is sick! I was an adult before I learned the only way to win at that game is to refuse to play it--if you're happy and they predictably start pouting, ignore them, carry on. If you're miserable, dear God don't show it around them. Be miserable anywhere else, so they don't pile on and make things worse.

Thanks Linda. Has there ever been a more textbook case of this in Kate? It's like Chapter 1: Kate. Chapter 2: Kate. Chapter 99: Kate.

Are there more details to this story than the video interview? Admin said, "Collin fell on the Rocky steps and Kate didn't even acknowledge him," but the guy who shot the photos said in the video that "one of the children fell." Do we know that it was Collin?

There was a poster over on another blog (the report that caused some red flags) who claimed to be there for the filming, and she reported that it was the "one with the glasses" (Aaden) who fell.

Good point. If they are filming at a restaurant, who signs the Confidentiality Agreements? Only the servers? Other patrons? Shouldn't they have an attorney present to review it? After all, if the person signs a CA and then mentions one negative thing to the media, depending on what is in the CA, TLC could take them for everything their worth.

What happens if patrons refuse to sign one? Do they send them packing with their food in a doggie bag?

If Kate is cold, distant, aloof, and just plain miserable to everyone, why is it that the Sheeple idolize her so much, to the point of setting her up as a female deity? They're not gullible enough to believe that they could actually carry on a conversation with her, are they?

Kids can have fun with anything: crumple a napkin and pretend it looks like something. Point out the strange lights and giggle.

I've heard twice, from different sources, about how she didn't seem to care that one of her children fell on those stairs. THAT put my hackles up. What a bitch.

I recall my son, 4th grade, going inside a back door for a band concert. We dropped him off and were to park and go inside to watch. I watched him going up some outside steps, and he tripped with his flute case. I told my husband to STOP, and I was out of the car in a flash, running, to check on him.

That is what a mother does. She is a monster, with no maternal feelings at all. We've all seen it many times.

It is now time that everyone who follows this a-hole knows.

Freakin' bitch.

Kate has already made it crystal clear to the fans she doesn't care. She calls the fans "annoying" in her book. Then Steve called them over-zealous. She has already given them the hand, and they just keep coming back for more. Some of them.

Haha, it's kinda like, wow can't take a hint?

Everyone who said she acts the opposite of her kids hit it on the nail! When the kids are happy, she's miserable and vice versa. This is so true now that I think about it.

And I 100% believe people who observed Kate being "cold", "distant" and "aloof" during the PHilly shoot because she acted that way in the Sarah Palin episode! She didn't care that people were running around trying to make the most of a situation nor did she care that her behavior would make people uncomfortable and awkward. What a weirdo.

To Moose Mania -I don't know what the sheeple are idolizing. Even to someone who is not at the opposite ends of the spectrum (hater vs. sheeple), this woman is hard to like let alone be a fan of.

I watched the interview and was glad the celeb reporter was asked outright if Kate looked happy and he said she looked miserable. I was not happy to hear him all pumped up to see Kate as she in his mind is a celeb, blond and beautiful. Too many people, usually men, only look at the surface of a woman and since Kate has been made over to fit the package look that is all they see.
As usual I am sure he did not do much research on Kate and just admires her for being "blond and beautiful" and having all those kids. That is part of my frustration with this as Kate's pr team has put together this package with no regards to the kids. They keep selling Kate as a sex symbol at the expense of the kids.
By the way, there are many beautiful women who are not blond!

It was ONLY after I started reading about the mentally-ill QUEEN Khatezilla Grosselin that I have been able to figure out what has been going on with my wretched sister. what pisses me off is how my jerk of a sister never gets therapy for herself. Here is my point: Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a mental illness and I think that ANYONE with a mental illness has a responsibility to get help so that they are not like a loaded gun, about to wreak emotional havoc and damage on those around them. My sister has dealt a lot of emotional havoc on our family... fractured it... the witch. The QUEEN Khatezilla Grosselin has clearly wreaked emotional havoc on her children. This is not right. Khatezilla Grosselin has a responsibility to address and take care of her mental illness. She is hurting her children (objects/possessions/means to an (fame-and-fortune-laden) end .

Another dig to Jon, by the way. When Shoka came back at the Halloween episode she dug it into the kids, "I TOLD you Shoka would be back, I ALWAYS keep my word." The HERO again. LIke your marriage vows in Hawaii, Khate?

If I'm not mistaken on the foot thing it was two weeks. Cara finally spoke up on film and away she went with her. She had a nanny take her to the doctor, because they were filming and then she switched out with the nanny, so the nanny for the emergency room so she would not have to put them to bed. They wanted to put a cast on it and Khate said we don't have time for a cast do we Cara and Cara said no so she got a boot. I am thinking that was supposedly family game night when she had all these games set up and they flew from one game to another and Khate said next she would set them up all in a row and that would be better. She turned around and asked the camera guy "how's that." They never filmed another family game night. She just flies through filming so she can have her one on one time that she purely loves. She could sit there improperly dressed making out with the camera for hours on end it seems. She always look truly happy when she is there putting spins on things on film to make herself look better. After all she needs only to enlighten everyone about how difficult it is to do it all with 8 count em 8 kids and all is forgiven.

Khate just giggled like an idiot, trying to deflect the obvious JAB by Joy Behar. Whatever anyone thinks about Joy Behar, I think she was one of the first TV butt-kissers to call Khatezilla out on her psycho BS personality. Did anyone else see that? Admin - I'd stopped watching the show by the time Cara hurt her foot, but I remember reading recaps of the episodes. I think the title was "Family Game Night", or something similar. Kate sent Cara to the doctor with the nanny. Kate then took Cara to the ER for an xray, and complained about having to take the time. She had the nerve to say to Cara that it was a good thing she didn't need a cast, because Kate didn't have time for that. Kate blamed the whole thing on Jon, because apparently Cara first hurt her foot when she was with Jon.

There is a medical (psychological) condition called Munchausens Syndrome. People with this condition do things to themselves - deliberately injure, take medications to cause symptoms, etc. - to make themselves appear ill because they enjoy the attention. In Munchausens by Proxy, a person - usually the mother - does things to her children to cause pain and illness, because then she gets sympathy and attention for having a sick child. In extreme cases, the mother may actually kill the child. I've often wondered if Kate doesn't have a form of Munchausens by Proxy. She just seems to enjoy it too much when there is a problem with one of the children and the attention gets focused on her and her reaction to it. She never seems to exhibit the normal concern for the child with the problem.

I also have a friend (whom I am trying to rid myself of, as she is toxic) who likes when I'm upset. It's kinda like she eggs me on. She gets a bit too excited when asking "What else happened?? huh huh?" I have been friends with her for years & she has actually turned this way, jaded. I have ridded myself all of the other toxic people in my life, the one who drank & drank & lied to me throughout our friendship. Sometimes toxic people just destroy parts of YOU.
Anyway, this particular toxic friend who seems happy when I'm upset, is also a one-upper. If I stub my toe, she broke hers, if my son has a cold, her daughter has pneumonia...you get my point. But she seems to get off on my unhappiness, & that's hard to do, considering I'm usually a pretty laid back type of girl. Maybe that's why. Maybe I just solved my own problem! I've talked to her, but she denies it. Kate hates people happiness because she will NEVER be happy, no matter what is handed to her. Stuff will never be enough, Kate needs more more more. It's sad that her own kids don't even make her happy & make her smile. Or her job that pays her thousands doesn't make her happy. Again, isn't that what she has wanted this whole time, from the beginning? (sorry for the long post :))

"Admin Remember when Cara hurt her foot? It was sprained I think. Kate brushed her off for a long time (a day at least?)"

Yes, that was the "family game night". LOL Another "tradition". The show had to go, so Kate supposedly called someone to take Cara to the doc. And it was several days that the child complained about her foot. Not sure how many, 4 comes to mind, but more than one day. I think it was Mady who called it to Kate's attention. Mady, my heart.

Kate had to end up taking her for xrays, saying "We don't have TIME for a cast, do we Cara?" The look on Cara's face was strange, like she was afraid or something.

So, what's the attack going to be on this one?

Hugh's just jellus.

Hugh was paid off by Jon to make Kate look bad.

ADMIN found the one about Cara's foot.

The episode was actually, "Farm to the table"

Cara complained "about 4 times" about the foot, according to Kate. Cara told the story how she hurt her foot, and said it was "last week" when she hurt it. It was Cara who brought up her foot. Not Mady. And she called the babysitter to take her to the doc, supposedly, the babysittter wasn't there, you know single mom and all, and doing it on her own. Blah, blah This was one of the shows where Kate had this forced loud cackle of a laugh. I hated that. Kate was going to start a new tradition of different game stations around the basement!

Anyway, Kate took her to the hospital for xrays that night, she said she would do anything to stretch the days out so that the nights are not so lonely for her. (insert sob) End of story.

If Kate is cold, distant, aloof, and just plain miserable to everyone, why is it that the Sheeple idolize her so much, to the point of setting her up as a female deity? Don't they realize that if they met her in person, she wouldn't give them the time of day, simply looking upon them as pond scum? They're not gullible enough to believe that they could actually carry on a conversation with her, are they?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think I can best explain it this way. I watched a show last night (one of those cold case killer things) where a woman was killed, her husband was the prime suspect but the police couldn't prove it. He was free for a long time...finally convicted.

The daughter, a teenager by the time she was interviewed, said she always believed her father was innocent and the more people blamed him the more she believed him innocent.

The more the "haters" criticize Kate, the more her fans defend her. They don't want to be proven wrong and will go to any lengths (the few hangers on that she has.) It's a vicious circle.

"LisaNH mean she is a raging bitch on wheels, could she produce fear in the hearts of TLC? "

Regardless that her numbers have fallen, sadly, 1.3 million is STILL good numbers for the show. It is still a money maker. BUT I do think TLC has pushed and pushed her and tries to help make money for her because of the fact when they first signed with TLC, they had no lawyer to look over the contracts, (YES I do believe Jon when he said that). They were naive and needed the money. TLC has made estimated 200 million plus on their show alone. Even at 22,500 an episode, that was still taking advantage of them, since they produced so much revenue. I think the reason TLC has pushed her so much, is to avoid her suing them. They used them, and grossly underpaid them. Took advantage of them. That is MY opinion of the strange and seemingly unending promotion of a talentless woman onto the public.

"Minder" is a term used in Australia/NZ/England for a person who is hired to look after a celebrity and keep them out of trouble. It' s more than a bodyguard, more like a nanny, as the minder's job is to make sure the celebrity behaves properly, among other duties.

As for Munchausen's by Proxy: if Kate had this disease she would be constantly hovering over her children, making sure she was seen to be a good mother; she would be doing the opposite of what she is doing now. In M.byP. the parent seems to be very concerned about the child and is personally in attendance at all the child's hospital or other emergencies, they are not palmed off on a nanny.

There would be more emergencies and much more publicity about poor Saint Kate and how she is so afflicted by children who are constantly ill.

It's interesting to play around with diagnoses for Kate but in the end I think it does more harm than good, because unless it's done by a mental health professional, it's guesswork, and gives Kate yet another reason to avoid responsibility for her actions.

I have a quick question. With all these rumors circulating about why the hell Kate & Steve went to Aust./NZ together, & all the other rumors that float around about Kate, why doesn't her PR rep ever come out & clear them up? NOT Kate, her REP? Usually, a real celeb. would have her rep. say something, a true celeb would never go on a talk show & "honestly this" & "honestly that". We all Kate loves that attention, good or bad, but a married man? Is that the kind of attention she wants to attract? I'm just wondering.

H.C. I don't know 'why' her PR company doesn't answer her critics (maybe the rumors are true), but I have a feeling her team lays low and don't tout their presence because they still want it to seem that Kate does it all, that she doesn't have a crew of people at work combing through internet postings for info on her, planting "gossip" with tabloids to keep her name relevant like ROL, working the phones setting up interviews and appointments for her, etc.

Julie Carson May's company, Media Motion Intl., (which she and Jon hired ages ago) has worked hard to reinvent her image multiple times in the past and imo, have earned every cent she pays them.

Yeah, a narcissistic mother is one of the worst types of mothers to have, a psychiatrist told me that. The qualities of a narcissist are at direct odds with what makes a good mother/parent. Borderline Personality Disorder is worse, and my mom has both. Those are reasons 1 and 2 I haven't had anything to do with her in 11 years and my daughter doesn't even remember her and wouldn't know her on the street. It's also why my brother keeps his young kids away from her. She has three grandchildren she will never know and two kids she will never see again.

A narcissist is never happy because they are never happy. Period. Inside, they feel like colossal failures, and they're just this black hole of neeeeeeeeed. NEEEEEED. They need so badly to be the center of attention, in the spotlight constantly, everything needs to be about THEM and them only. Any intrusion on their spotlight is greatly resented. Kate is in an interesting position as a narcissist: it's her eight kids that GET her the attention, and yet she wants the spotlight solely to herself (as narcissists do). She's been trying desperately to create a public persona separate from the kids, but she has a two-fold problem there:

1. narcissists don't tend to be very likable people. At ALL. Most normal people learn to avoid them like the plague, once they figure them out. Kate definitely falls here. Extremely unlikable.

2. BUT if a narcissist has a lot of talent, then people tend to forgive the narcissism and enjoy the natural talent. There have been loads of very talented actors, singers, dancers, personalities, etc, who are also narcissists, but their talent makes up for it. Kate has no talent. At anything.

So there you go. She will forever be frustrated by not being able to permanently lasso the public spotlight on her. If anything, this whole flirt with fame via TLC has been somewhat cruel. It's like giving a narcissist their wildest dream, knowing it's going to go away, and go away HARD.

While I'm at it, here are my completely amateur predictions for Kate's 2011:

In April, the contract with TLC will be up. Despite her pleas and threats, TLC will let her go, gladly and with relief. Ratings for her show will have dropped to unsustainable levels (they're really there now). Any talk of a new show/new idea (desperation by Kate) will be "tabled" which is network talk for "not gonna happen."

TLC will continue through 2011 to quietly distance themselves from her.

Kate will go on the same rounds of shows she's gone on in the past to plead her case that she HAS to work, she has all these poor babies to feed, Jon is awful (she won't have much to lose by badmouthing him at that point), etc etc, but fewer and fewer people will have any sympathy at all.

I predict the end of 2011 will find Kate in the unenviable position of having to sell that house and not even being able to get TMZ to pay her any attention. She'll also probably try to go back to her previous publisher with an idea for a new book, they will turn her down. She'll shop other publishers, it won't work out.

For everyone who says she'll never go away: she will. Even big stars with loads of talent see their stars dim--this woman is a D list reality TV star with no talent. It's inevitable. And I think 2011 will be a very bad year for Kate.

===============

I was actually thinking about this a few days ago and looked up the symptoms. She doesn't necessarily need to hover over her children to have this illness; the fact that she calls attention to herself as a good mother (at the expense of a sick or injured child) is enough. We know that she bills herself as a good mother. When she brought the dog back, she said that she was Mother of the Year. She constantly presents herself as a great mom, saying everything she does is for her children, etc.

Munchhausen by Proxy doesn't always mean that the parent has to make the child sick, although that is usually the case. It can also mean that the parent enjoys the child's misery in order to gain sympathy for herself. I'm thinking of the vomiting scene on the fishing trip. She wasn't bothered at all that those kids were sick. It was all about her...poor her, having to deal with sick kids. Think about the time at Discovery Cove when one of the kids was sick. She showed the pink vomit. It was almost with delight that she showed the baggie. What mother does this? It was the same with Cara and her foot. It was all about Kate getting sympathy because of Cara's injury. Kate had to put herself out because Cara needed an x-ray, but she did it because she's such a good mother.

It's funny someone mentioned the Farm to Table episode because that was the episode in which Kate reversed the portions, absolutely tiny dinner and absolutely HUGE ice cream dessert in order for the kids to be wired for filming 'game time' in the basement. After all the sugar they had, they were hyperactive and aggressive towards each other in the games, and subsequently melted down badly, all on film.

In this interview, Hugh says all the kids got hot chocolate at Starbucks right before the filmed the running up the steps. She medicates them to sleep on planes and wires them up with sugar and chocolate so they will be lively and perform well for the cameras. So she can collect 250,000 for HERSELF. And get attention for herself. School de damned. Time with their father/family/friends be damned.

This is abuse.

Yes the kids will seem like they're having fun if they are 'high' on sugary treats for filming. But that doesn't mean their lives are fun or that they don't cry and rage in private and at school.

I'm no Kate fan, but I must say, she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

If she'd gone to Starbucks and got a coffee for herself and nothing for the kids, on my, the fall-out!

However when she gets them hot chocolate when she gets her coffee, she's intentionally putting them on a sugar high for filming.

Maybe she should have sat them down and given them some raw vegetable juice!?

Exactly. The extent to which people will go to find something nefarious in every single situation involving Kate is truly ludicrous.

Hot chocolate right before filming might seem innocuous enough. However, it's a pattern. Hot chocolate right before running up the Rocky steps. Tiny dinner, large dessert right before 'game night' in the basement. Ice cream cones as big as their heads in New York city when they are too sleepy to 'put on a show'. 'Ice cream instead of dinner' episode after which they run around on the grass and Kate yells maniacally about grass stains and cackles that they're 'burning off the sugar'. Then we hear she resends stale sandwiches to school. The best way to control children is through food and altering their body chemistry and Kate knows this.

My second point was that the kids will appear to be having fun when she plies them with sweets and fake attention on filming days. She WANTS them to appear to enjoy filming because it's money in HER pocket.

She just made her kids wear "I'm so happy to be me" shirts for the airport photo op for heaven's sake. She wants the public to think that in spite of so much evidence to the contrary!
