Jon and Kate bought the property in 2008 for $1.2 million amid much criticism for buying an overpriced property they likely couldn't afford long-term. Kate is trying to sell it for the same price, $1.2

I'm from a small rural virginia county. All summer long, 12 Covid cases. The first case spent a month in the hospital and four months in rehab, others not so ill.
Now up to 130+ cases. Contact tracing found all cases linked to 4 private events: 2 funerals and 2 weddings. If you are hosting an event with family and friends traveling from another area, you have to be cautious about who might have been exposed to Covid, or this time of year, the flu.
Our governor just pushed back the gathering limits from 250 to 25. BUT the does not include restaurants, schools, or churches - because contact tracing shows people aren't getting Covid there.

It’s the same in my province Joy.

Schools are open (ppl have choice), and data shows transmission is not happening in schools. Both of my boys had to isolate at some point due to “contact” in their school group. It was fine. They got tested, were negative, but had to wait out the recommended time period. Teachers had all lessons up on google classroom so they could keep up - not ideal, but doable.

The mask thing - our provincial data shows that the majority of the positive cases are from small gatherings and family transmission. So ppl are going over to each other’s homes and not social distancing or wearing masks.

Kids trick or treated here - no cases reported from that (I wore a mask and used tongs to hand out candy).

The one great thing they did was change high school to quarters from semesters-intense course info, but at least they’ve now finished 2 full courses. This way if there are any future lockdowns less of the school year is impacted.

It’s great to hear that so many jurisdictions understand the logical and science based way to handle this pandemic. Targeted, case by case, following the data and science. And household transmission was always the number one way it was spread—not schools, the hair dresser, restaurants, colleges, churches or football games. “Safer at home” was a nice idea on paper but never panned out in practice, in fact it killed people who might otherwise had lived had they not been sent home among their infected family all the time. Why this science and data is ignored is beyond me and it’s racist, so many minority groups work in those industries and have been so hard hit for no logical reason. If St. Biden thinks he’s going to get the whole country to shut down again he’s dreaming.

I don’t object to wearing masks but the evidence they’re making a difference is pretty flimsy. I’ve seen almost a hundred percent mask compliance in LA for months now and the cases are still rising.

Nicky, we did trick or treating here too. We were at the door so we could see the neighbor kids costumes. The candy was on a table in the yard, next to the talking skeleton. Close but not too close

I read that too but I think it’s going to focus more on the Housewives and other shows that are on his channel.

IIRC, TFW was on Watch What Happens Live with Morgan Fairchild. Andy pretty much ignored her because Morgan was well spoken and witty and knew about current events and TFW was watching a real housewives show backstage. TFW showed that she can’t speak off the cuff or discuss anything that’s not scripted.

Dmasy, I agree about The Queen's Gambit! Very well done, and what a treat to see the sixties again! Well worth a watch.

I binged about 5 episodes of The Crown yesterday. Whatever sparkle was lacking in season 3, they've more than compensated in the current 10 episodes. Again, fun to see the '70s and '80s again. :)

I think this is a bit unfair. This very post has quite a bit of information about the sale of Kate's home, as well as an update on Jon on Dr. Oz. If you just scrolled through you would see all the updates right here. It's actually been a rather busy month of new info on the Gosselins, which is unusual these days.

If there is an update on the Gosselins, people post it. That's never not happened. I don't think it's fair to expect posters to give you a personal update, and to storm off in a huff threatening to leave the blog if that doesn't happen. What's more, there is very little information about the Gosselins out there anymore, mostly because most of them are not very active on social media, especially Kate, who has been almost silent for over a year now. Frankly, that's Kate's choice. She doesn't owe it to anyone to update us on her private life. But when she doesn't post, it does make it harder to give any "updates" for you. That is not because this blog is trying to be unhelpful to you, it's because we truly don't know what's going on. It is your choice whether to frequent this blog or not, but leaving because you didn't get a personal update doesn't seem reasonable.

Mady has an instagram post at her dorm saying she's moving out. Curious, I googled Syracuse University, and sure enough, they've gone back online again with a return date end of January. For a county that has less than 100 cases and no deaths at that school this seems not only ridiculous, but could create MORE risk by sending infected young people home. I cannot find a single article putting forth evidence a Syracuse University student ever even was hospitalized from COVID, and certainly no student has died. The county has only had one death lately that I even see. But that aside, I am very, very sorry to Mady that what is supposed to be the best years of her life are being ruined. Everyone is feeling this to different degrees and she is much better off than many, but it still sinks. If I were her, I'd start looking at other schools in different parts of the country who have more logical COVID policies than shutting down for ONE death in the county.

Ugh that was my first reaction, they're gonna spend this extended break being forced to help pack up their childhood home, which I'm sure is exactly what a kid wants to do right now when college is such a mess during a pandemic and they're just trying to have a normal life.

Let's see if this house even closes.

Per Syracuse.com, Syracuse University has 266 active coronavirus cases, and 584 students in quarantine. It appears that prior to Halloween, they had been lucky and had low coronavirus numbers, but after Halloween, that bubble burst. This surge is blamed on Halloween parties that many students attended. So hopefully Mady does not have the virus and will therefore not pass it along to the family still at home.

None of those kids should be going home until they’re testing negative. The covid policies can be so absolutely illogical sometimes. They’re actually safer at school, in their bubble, among other low risk kids and let covid run through them. They’re all going to bring covid home to their grandmothers for thanksgiving.

LA is going to do a curfew just like the Nazis did for “Jews abusing their privileges” and PA is requiring masks INSIDE homes, this is truly getting out of control. At this point, nobody respects or listens to all these authorities claiming this or that rule will stop or slow this and all the rules are doing are taking away people’s rights to live and work. It’s kind of embarrassing how disorganized this has gotten for most states.

Mady posted a second pointless photo and I can’t tell if it’s a hotel or bedroom or what.

Go back to sixth grade civics. A national response to public health matters is almost completely illegal. Even Biden admits that. States rights, read up on it.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

This analogy is disgusting. Intent matters and the intent behind Hitler's order and that behind a curfew with a public health basis are worlds apart. That you would even dare to compare a curfew requiring bars and restaurants to close at 10pm to what was done to the Jews in Germany is beyond offensive.

$$$

Just keep ignoring how quickly they’ve taken away people’s rights. It’s unfortunately extremely similar and lots of Jews agree, the reasoning is identical in Los Angeles. We stepped out of line and are now being punished just like Jews stepped out of line and were restricted to curfews. To ignore this is to learn nothing from history. You can crow all you want about how it’s not the same, doesn’t make it true.

Responding to Gigi Be -- Katie Joy/WOACB has her own problems right now. There was a lengthy discussion in this thread about how Kate probably would NOT get her asking price -- that the house was out-dated and would require updates. The general consensus seemed to be that Kate would probably only be able to get about $800k.

My daughter is an internal medicine physician who works in as a hospitalist in Cape Giradeau Missouri. There are days when she calls me after leaving the hospital and she cannot talk because as she sobs in her car in the parking lot, due to absolute exhaustion and the unimaginable loss of human life that she sees every day. She has to tell famalies that their loved one have died and that they did their best to provide comfort for them at the end. It is an umimaginable task, completely heartbreaking.
When most of her peers were having a social life and enjoying their 20"s, she was working to become the best physician she could. She went into debt over $400,000 to do it too. She knew that she would deal with loss and pain but could never have imagined the massacre that covid would bring
I used to come to this blog because I was outraged at what kind of mother Kate was. Now I am outraged as a mother due to the ignorance of people who refuse to listen to science and drs and want to get their guidance from politicans and conspiracy theorists.(or attorneys!) People who are outraged about wearing a mask should follow my daughter for one hour in the hospital and they would be terrified. We wear seat belts and don't complain about our civil liberties because we don't want to end up dead before our time.
Masks do work, social distancing does work, small gatherings are the key. I have seen so many people with masks on that they pull down under their noses. They wear handkerchiefs or gators which don't provide protection. If they don't end up on my daughter's floor in the hospital, they may infect someone else who will. Someone's grandparent, parent or even a 17 year old who died from covid in her hospital 3 weeks ago (and the ICU is now full folks!)
My daughter is an excellent doctor and one that no one would not expect to ever give up but she as well as so many others on the front line are at the breaking point. She does not care if her paitents are democrats or republician, she took an oath to save lives. She is distraught seeing the shattered families of those they can not save. Please take this virus seriously, follow the recommendations of the CDC if not for your own sake for your loved ones and the front line workers who cannot possibly keep this up. This is a medical problem, take your guidance from the immunologists and not the talk show hosts. We have over a quarter of a million dead from Covid in this country, the majority of these folks could still be with us if we took this virus seriously from the start. We have hope on the horizion with a vaccines but how many more people are going to be put in body bags in over-flow morgues of refrigerator trucks until they are available?

$$

Your daughter is a hero. Refusing to wear a mask is immature. But the science is clear, unless you are over 80 your risk is outrageously low. Therein lies the rub. The fact that there are some horrific stories of people under 80 who have died doesn’t change the stats, or the positivity rate. That’s where there is reasonable disagreement with risks THIS low for the majority of the population , what measures should be put in place? Even very liberal politicians have very much been reluctant to increase any measure we are already doing. I think it’s incredibly unfair to accuse people who would prefer less restrictions of not understanding the seriousness or not caring about deaths. That is an oversimplification. They are concerned about the downside if we do. To put it in perspective, for every hundred people who test in a hotbed city like LA today, only 2-5 will ever show up positive and only half of those will ever even show symptoms.

I leave work crying every day because another foster kid almost offed themselves, or actually succeeded, because of covid restrictions. There is a lot of sadness whether we get stricter about this or not.

If that is what Americans truly think, then all I can say is you deserve what you get. Don't want to listen to science?

&&&

I'm not sure you're understanding that IS listening to science. The science is that if you are under 80, your chance of dying from this thing are next to none. It is true some people under 80 have died, but it doesn't change the fact that it is still incredibly rare to die from it. If you impose strict lockdowns that have proven to make little to no different in the first place, you expose those under 80 to a host of other risks such as suicide, financial ruin and depression and drug abuse and you are shutting down any HOPE of a future for minorities and the poor who are young and have limited paths in life, which is flat out racist. It's the SHUT ER DOWN lot who isn't understanding the science and is behaving in a very ignorant, privileged way. It's easy to say shut er down when you have a nice home with good internet and a laptop.

Americans don't understand math, or nobody would play the lottery. People are dumb. It is what it is.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Nice to see the NY Times publishing the science:

As the surge of coronavirus infections in the United States becomes undeniable, many leaders throughout the country are reacting by calling for closures. Bizarrely, they almost always seem to focus on schools first. That’s exactly the opposite of what they should be doing.

Don’t get me wrong. With cases climbing to levels we haven’t seen before, we need to restrict our physical interactions. But we should do so rationally and in an evidence-based manner. We should figure out what poses the greatest danger and act accordingly, instead of automatically asking schoolchildren to bear the brunt of the pain.

We should not be having large weddings. We should not be going to public events. We should not be eating indoors at restaurants. We should not be drinking indoors at bars. These are the activities responsible for a vast majority of transmissions, and these should be the focus of our initial interventions.

Schools are different. Cases have definitely been more common in school-age children this fall. But when schools do the right things, those infections are not transmitted in the classroom. They’re occurring, for the most part, when children go to parties, when they have sleepovers and when they’re playing sports inside and unmasked. Those cases will not be reduced by closing schools.

chools are necessary for the economy as well. If they are not open, many parents cannot work, even if they’re doing so from home.

Closing schools also exacerbates social and economic disparities. In some cities, especially in poorer areas, as many as one in three children didn’t — or couldn’t — take part in online learning when schools across the country were closed in the spring. Students who fall behind will have an incredibly difficult time catching up. They will be less likely to graduate, with enormous, lifelong consequences.

There may come a time when the pandemic has become so unmanageable that we need to close everything, including schools. (This was the case when I argued that closures were necessary back in March.) But schools are essential, and should be treated as such. When we prioritize, they should be among the last things to close. Almost everything else should be put on pause first. This is what Europe is doing. No one can explain why, once again, the United States is choosing its own path.

merican adults have failed in almost every way imaginable in this pandemic. None of it is kids’ fault. When we try and fix this latest mess, let’s put their needs first.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/17/opinion/schools-closing-covid.html?fbclid=IwAR1qn9J5i--UlyztKpv12JkesHkv3PpcWzIZ4tqYLsubNI02w3BSElMth1U

I am saddened to see this described as Nazi behavior. Since when is common sense and scientific protocol to protect our fellow humans Nazi behavior?

&&&

Curfews are Nazi behavior as it severely affects your liberty and your right to run your business for little to no correlation to the desired result. COVID does not know what time it is, and not all businesses run from 9-5. Many depend on the nighttime hours, so a curfew disproportionately effects those businesses while 9-5 businesses get off scot free. Why not rotate a curfew, requiring some days 9-5 businesses close, while other days, 5pm-1am businesses need to close? That would actually be logical and fair. A nighttime curfew is devastating to night businesses. There are half a dozen measures that could be put in place instead of a curfew that would not restrict someone's ability to run their business.

Masks just don't affect anyone's liberty, other than the hearing impaired, who are lost in a silent world because of this pandemic. I never said masks were Nazi behavior, since day one back in March I have said I had no problem with masks even if the science on their effectiveness is weak. In fact I would tend to say that I actually advocate for masks, as it's a simple way to fight the pandemic while still allowing people to HAVE their liberties, like go to school and own a business. The COVID restrictions I oppose are the ones that 1. affect your liberty specifically your right to be educated and work AND 2. can't show a strong connection between the liberty is is restricting having any bearing on the number of COVID cases. School is a great example of this. Most people on the right are just fine with masks, including Ben Shapiro and Joe Rogan, who run the number one podcasts in the country. This is not a weird opinion, it is the opinion of the growing majority including most governors.

What's disappointing is that people don't even seem to know the rules--you said wearing masks in your home in PA is an advisement. That is incorrect. It is an ORDER issued by your PA department of health and begins on Friday. If you do not follow this order, you could be arrested and jailed. I have no problem with requiring mask wearing in the community as community space and businesses are a privilege we enjoy, not a RIGHT, and the government can restrict such spaces for safety if they see fit, but I don't want to live in a place that tells people what they should do in the privacy of their homes. SLIPPERY SLOPE. Is that really the kind of place you want to live in either?

Even the Los Angeles mayor admitted there appears to be absolutely no change in our behavior or restrictions that would explain a surge in cases. In other words exactly what I said that the correlation between restrictions and Less cases is not there. Even a far leftie agrees.

“ “The irony about right now is we are approaching our worst numbers with the same things open as [when] we … had our best numbers” a few weeks ago, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti said this week.

The virus itself hasn’t changed, and there has been little relaxation of the rules. Interviews conducted with people who have recently tested positive for the coronavirus don’t show any significant shifts in behavior compared with a month ago, such as more visits to restaurants or other businesses, said Dr. Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, L.A. County’s chief medical officer.”

Wow now both The NY Times and the Washington post are advocating keeping schools open. At long last people are listening to the science.

“ Danielle Allen is a Post contributing columnist. Ashish Jha is a physician and dean of the Brown University School of Public Health.
Attention is focused on what Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) is closing in the face of an explosion of covid-19 cases: indoor restaurant dining, offices, high schools and colleges. As the pandemic surges, and other governors are facing similar decisions, it is important to focus also on what Whitmer is keeping open and why: schools for kindergarten through eighth grade.
She is right to do so.
In contrast, New York City’s recent decision to close schools reflects continued use of decision-making metrics that pertain to an earlier period of understanding of the pandemic, rather than reflecting what we know now.
Raw data and case studies provide support for Whitmer’s decision. The latest data have failed to provide compelling evidence that in-person schooling leads to meaningful increases in infections in communities.”

You can loot and "peacefully protest" but dont you dare have people at your house for the holidays.

I just finished the 4th season of the crown, it was the best season so far. I'm curious how close to the truth it is? the actresses that play Margaret Thatcher and Dianna are exceptional! they are dead ringers!

D. The virus doesn't differentiate between indoor spaces

I would think a virus clever enough to tell time could certainly distinguish between spaces!!

Our California Governor is not afraid of covid and neither should anyone else be who is not high risk.

It also can tell if you’re a Target, or just a poor minority scraping by running a small convenience store. This is one clever little buggar.

Both the La Times and SF Chronicle have been blasting Gavin, which is a nice change from slobbering all over him. McClintock’s roast of him was legendary. More and more newspapers are also advocating opening schools. Finally at long last the science is being followed. Took awhile for that crowd to finally admit how wrong they were but they finally did it.

Typical selfishness on your part. Apparently you don't give a fuck if you spread the disease to high-risk populations by engaging in risky behavior that results in you contracting the virus.

$$$

It’s a personal decision. If someone is high risk it’s their responsibility to self isolate. Even the highest risk still has a 94 percent chance of survival. Everyone else is over 99 percent. Funny enough, I’m following the COVID rules. I haven’t violated any of them since day one. But it’s my decision, not dictator Newsom’s. People will follow guidelines and have. Neither am I scared. The point is it’s become an absurd and unjustified government overreach to take away people’s jobs and schools and their right to make health choices for themselves. The governor made a personal choice so too should too peasants be allowed the same choice. The Organized Mind is a great book that has a fascinating discussion about how people like you are much more swayed by anecdotal evidence than the actual numbers. To live your life in a state of hysteria is your choice. I myself live my life by the data and numbers, but again my choice.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I also happen to think it’s unbelievably selfish for snotty cows like you to keep kids out of school because you’re scared and won’t self isolate yourself from children if you’re high risk or hysterically scared. So, I guess we’re even. Still waiting to hear of a teacher who died because kids went back to school. Oh wait, hasn’t happened.

Selfish cow. Some kids will NEVER recover because of people like you. Congrats.

I wear a mask when I go out to the store, I wash my hands way more then before, I haven’t been around the grandkids in 2 weeks because a few were exposed and one has had 3 tests. I have friends over and vice versa. We go out to eat as much as possible to help local restaurants. Until our dictator closes them. How are we being selfish? I refuse to stop my life because of a virus. We are taking precautions but we aren’t living like hermits shutting our doors till it’s over.
Stop listening to the fear porn and live man!

Our daughter is a teacher, she believes the schools need to open and stay open. And she’s a liberal.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

In the last six weeks or so a lot more data has come out proving how safe schools are. Anyone who opposes reopening schools now is just being stubborn and political, and that’s pretty sick given their stance hurts the poor and minorities the most and is causing increasing suicides and substance abuse among young people and irreparable damage to their future opportunities.

Even the ca governor sends his kids to in person school. He’s obviously not scared of that or restaurants either. Show’s over for him, every major newspaper in California universally hates him and there’s a huge movement demanding he resign. He’s not going to recover from this. Cooked.

Don't rely on anything W/O a Crystal Ball says. Sorry but she is well known at a forum (yes a forum, so old school LOL), that I belong to and she took a lot of information from that forum and posted it on her YT channel and never gave any credit to the forum, where directly involved parties posted about a serious situation involving children. She talked about it like it was gossip. So just be careful, especially if she is hanging out around this blog. She is a creep, IMHO.

But anyway, about Covid and the mask debate, my two cents, if a private business requires a mask, I will comply, it's like the old signs "No shirt, no shoes, no service". However, if the government tells me to wear a mask outside or when I'm in my house, I have a huge issue.

Someone posted a pretty funny meme on FB the other day. It said something like "Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family!" then it showed the scene from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation when the swat team smashed into the Griswald's house after cousin Eddy kidnapped Clark's boss. It was so funny.

Okay, I'm stepping off my soap box now. LOL.

Lol that’s such a classic. But apparently true in Oregon where they’re threatening to jail people for celebrating thanksgiving. It’s funny but it’s actually really scary.

I think what this comes down to is how strongly do you believe in the foundations of the United States, a place where people have for over three hundred years sought refuge to escape oppressive regimes. These regimes also claimed to take over your life in the name of “safety” for your own good because they know better than you, and never gave you the option to decide and assess for yourself. These regimes were also full of hypocritical dictators just like now. I grew up hearing stories of fascist Italy and don’t kid yourself what a slippery slope we are on right now. We are on a path that I guarantee you will not easily be reversible even once the vaccine is in place. They will keep making excuses why we still need restitutions.

I think it comes down to what each individual is willing to give for a country in which the government does not interfere in one’s private life, including lives. Problem is that’s becoming a weaker and weaker argument when it’s becoming almost impossible to show any correlation between restrictions and successful control of the virus. Just when we think a country has figured it out they have an unexplained surge. Nonetheless even in cities whereas enforcement has made it crystal clear they will not enforce restrictions (this now includes Los Angeles and neighboring Orange County) compliance is still high proving the point that you can give people the option of following medical guidelines without actually making it an oppressive law—in my view the best of both worlds.

I think we’d be in a MUCH different place if the measures put in place were showing a very strong correlation to successfully stemming the virus. They have not. Even Los Angeles Officials now admit they truly have NO idea why we are now surging when there has been no measurable change in behavior or restrictions. I actually think the public appreciates their honesty, but it does make the current redirections have an even greater level of discomfort about them for most rational people.

If you are so concerned about dictators, how about focusing your energy on the asshole in the WH who currently is trying to overturn an election and remain in power against the will of the people? You're worried about masks and curfews while Donald Trump is doing his best to undermine democracy and Republican leaders remain silent for the most part. (Thank you, Mitt Romney, for having a principle or two.)

&&&

Wasn't it Hillary who told Joe Biden, "NEVER CONCEDE?" Spare me the "your side won't let it go" nonsense. Both sides behave like children, that's nothing new. I don't care about Trump's legal measures to ensure that every American's vote gets counted. Yawn, whatever. I care about hard working poor people and minorities losing jobs and committing suicide because your'e inability to do basic math to assess the actual risk has sent you into hopeless hysterics. In extreme situations, if a law is fundamentally unsound and harmful, I support civil disobedience. And so do our sheriffs. With your lot you only care about one's right to make choices about their body when it's abortion. Anything else, you don't want to hear it. Hypocritical at best.

Gavin Newsom's stupid little French Laundry escapade should not be viewed as carte blanche to do whatever the hell you want. If he told you not to jump off a bridge and then jumped himself, would you follow suit?

&&&

That's not how I view it--I view it as someone who has insisted for almost a year now that it is extremely dangerous to leave my home demonstrating that in fact he lied, as he has engaged in allegedly risky behaviors himself. His actions show he is not afraid, thus, why would I be? His actions show that instead of following guidelines, he assessed the personal risk himself, something he has deprived the rest of us peasants of the ability to do. Our entire state is questioning his stance on COVID because of it, and rightly so. Major newspapers are BLASTING him. It's really the biggest debacle in the entire pandemic here. It's embarrassing. You should be embarrassed this guy has been the one telling us what to do, and embarrassed to defend him.

Bottom line he just proved that he does NOT think COVID is risky, period, undermining nine months of telling us otherwise in two quick photos.

LisaNH said...

IMHO there's been a lot of hypocrisy regarding Covid. Example 1. Nancy Pelosi going to the hair salon w/o a mask, then trying to blame the hair salon for leaking the video.

2. Stupid Cuomo who had the USS Mercy in NY for Covid patients, what did he do? He put Covid patients in nursing homes so the disease spread. Now he's telling people not to joing their families for the Thanksgivin.

3. Fredo Cuomo (yes, I said it "Fredo") blasting that he had Covid but still went outside his home despite being ill.

But anyway, Admin, are familiar with the #Walkaway Campaign? What a great movement. I absolutely love Brandon Straka and what he is trying to do to get through to people that the media is no on their side. The media is trying to change this country and not for the better.

That being said, I love how the media slobbers all over this story, not once bringing up that health directives say they shouldn't be gathering for Thanksgiving. I guess when it's a media darling story, all of a sudden COVID regulations don't matter. When it's not, it's COVID shaming, you're gonna KILL PEOPLE!!!! They're reallly a piece of work.

When it comes to believing what politicians have to say, I find that actions speak louder than words. They preach at us, and then they do the opposite of what they're telling us to do. Newsome is a disgrace. Cuomo certainly thinks his own rules don't apply to him, and as for Pelosi--well, I think it would be a real challenge to find a bigger hypocrite anywhere in politics. In addition to her hair salon trip, she was planning a huge Thanksgiving lunch for the new members of Congress. At at time when the rest of us are being told to keep our gatherings small. They obviously feel that they are exempt from the limitations they attempt to put on the rest of us. Sickening.

Things are getting pretty nuts in Los Angeles, they are full on rich cities and towns in the county flat out refusing to follow the curfew and shutdowns, both sheriffs in Orange County and Los Angeles county are making clear statements they will NOT enforce this, and the very liberal Pasadena is refusing to shut down. The only way to fight tyranny is to refuse to comply, what are they gonna do when everyone stays open?

At this point, it is absolutely abominable that the Nazi government is taking away the restaurant industry's jobs for nine long months now with NO evidence they are driving the spread. This is an industry largely made up of the poor and minorities they claim to love so much. What do they think these restaurant are made up of? Dishwashers, cleaners, servers, line cooks. Rich restaurant owners only make up a tiny percentage of this industry. Everyone else is middle and lower class. It's flat out BULLSHIT.

At this point, Gavin Newsom, Barbara Ferrer and all these other merry men and women have NO RIGHT to take away a thing unless they too are also willing to give up their salary and go without a dime for months on end. Any takers? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Add Gov. Cuomo to the growing list of "Thanksgiving for me but not for thee" dictators. He was all set not just to go see his elderly mother on Thanksgiving, but to have HER travel to come see him! When finally called out on it, he reluctantly backed down and said okay I won't have her over.

And by the way, I don't care of his family makes the family decision to spend Thanksgiving with each other, especially when weighing the risk against whether this could be your last Thanksgiving, etc. That's how it should be, each family making the decision what should happen in their private homes. Just please stop telling us poor and middle class and minorities what we should do in ours.

In Los Angeles, the tide is turning. A huge lawsuit is pending about the restaurants closing. Our restaurants are closed as of yesterday even to outdoor dining. When pressed what outbreaks have occurred at Los Angeles restaurants public health officials couldn’t identify a single one. Hi Admin and everyone!! I hope you had a wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving.

I thought I'd share some thoughts about the season and the Pandemic.

We spent Thanksgiving with my husband's family. Guess what? There were 14 family members there! We live in NH and despite out Republican governor (who may or may not be blue dressed in red, if you get my drift) proclaiming that everyone must wear masks (good luck with that in the "Live Free or Die" state).

Another issue, the day before Thanksgiving, I arrived home from (we live in an apartment complex) to see a sign on the front door with the mandate "Masks must be worn upon entering the building." Now this is November, the pandemic started in what, February or March? I was not pleased to see that sign. My husband and 86 year old mother (who lives with us) have been holding me back from taping a picture of Hilter on the sign LOL. I'm sorry but that is just uncalled for. If they mean visitors to the building, that's one thing but to proclaim residents of our building have to wear masks upon entering is crossing the line in my opinion.

Hubby and I have been talking a lot about this pandemic and he brought up a very good point. He's comparing it to the Vietnam War. He said "This pandemic is a politicians illness.". He's right. Politicians see it as another way to trample on our rights.

This has been going on since March! Enough already. Stop with the mask mandates and 6ft apart mandates. Clearly if it had worked, the virus would have slowed down by now, not increased. Clearly masks and social distancing are not working. I'm really beginning to feel like herd immunity may be the answer. I only say that because George Washington inoculated the troops for small pox by giving them small amounts of small pox so they could build an immunity against it.

Layla said...

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! Or as happy as it's possible to be in these turbulent times. We kept it fairly small due to CV, just the family. This was the first time Sully was able to participate. Last year he was here, snoozing in his little seat while everyone ate. This time he was digging in with one hand (he holds his fork with the other hand, but doesn't really use it yet). We kept the TV off all day, avoided discussing politics, and had a nice family gathering. No matter what is going on "out there", we can just close the door and shut it all out, at least for a day.

What a bizarre year this has been. I won't be sad to see it end. The one thing that saved it for us, of course, has been our little snuggle-bug. He does so many silly little things that always make us laugh. He flicks his little fingers and tells us, "I 'nap"! (I snap!) He plops down on the floor, takes off his socks, then pulls one foot up to his nose to smell and says, "Ewww, tin-tee" (Ewww, stinky). He loves to mess with pots and pans and bowls and spoons in the kitchen "I hep!" (I help!). He has saved this year for us. Like I told DH yesterday, you have to get your happiness from wherever you can find it.

2021 can't come fast enough.

La County is truly evil. Truly evil. Ripping people’s jobs and livelihoods weeks before Christmas with NO evidence “staying home” does a damn thing. That’s been thoroughly debunked now as having little to no bearing on the numbers. Rather the biggest factor is the age of your population and obesity. NO OTHER county is doing this in the country. Watch the suicides come. This is disgusting.

Good thing is I’m not going to be back there until mid January. Good luck everyone still there.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I'm really beginning to feel like herd immunity may be the answer.

&&&&

Herd immunity is the only answer. I realized that about four weeks into "safer at home" when it became clear not only was it not making a difference, but it was causing other unintended consequences in a variety of different areas, including suicides. We are not a society though that was willing to make that sacrifice that back in March, because it would basically be asking people to take the risk even a small one they could get very sick or die without trying to stop it. A tall order.

In hindsight, it should have been everyone over 80 and high risk under 80 on severe lockdown, everybody else go out and get sick and build a solid herd immunity. Had we done that, 80 year olds and high risk could have been out of their houses by June and the disease would have been gone by September with tens of thousands of lives spared.

We ended up with a much worse result, but most humans aren't wired to be able to conceptualize the idea that initial pangs on the front end might and usually does cause less pain in the end. This is why so many people procrastinate or avoid things throughout their lives like homework when they are a kid, or getting motivated to improve their lives as adults. Unfortunately, because we weren't able to take the risk and the pain in March, here we are in December. And now, it's just too late to go for herd immunity the natural way with a vaccine weeks away (you're welcome.)

Although I differ from you in that I support mask orders as long as they don't tell you to wear a mask in your own home, I do agree there is little to no evidence masks work, which is disheartening. But I do think we're going to reach a point where it's going to be become pretty pointless to keep wearing something that just isn't working. It's also devastating for the deaf community, who now have absolutely no idea what is being said. I'm going to be that 99.9 percent of people who are pro-severe COVID restrictions have never once thought about what it might be like to be deaf during all this. As they never do think of things like that.

Reinfection is still very rare, that's a story they media loves to publish as it gets lots of clicks, but even the CDC says reinfection is rare. I also know someone who had it twice, but didn't have symptoms either time, leading me to believe that one or both of his positive tests were false positives.

In any case, herd immunity absolutely still works even in a disease that reinfects, as the more herd immunity builds during people's immunity period before the chance of reinfection, the less the disease is out and about. Therefore even if you could get reinfected again, in a proper herd immunity plan the chance of you even encountering the disease in the first place is dramatically lower as the disease is not out there as much due to herd immunity building. You can't get reinfected if you don't come in contact with the disease.

Human beings are in general idiots who can't think more than two chess moves ahead. So too were we here.

I support the Restaurants Act because if a tyrannical government is going to take away your JOB, much like eminent domain, they need to compensate you for it. But that's just a bandaid, wouldn't be nearly enough to compensate people for all the millions they've lost in nine months. I know this is hard for your lot to understand since math isn't your strong suit, but we don't have a money tree we can just keep taking away jobs and plucking money from the tree to make up for it--it comes back and hurts yet another group of people in the end by boning them on taxes to make up for all the bailouts. Helping one group but hurting another doesn't really get us anywhere.

The ONLY solution is to let people get back to work especially when the science is showing zero correlation between the regulations and the spread. At this point I can only conclude your side is one sick puppy getting OFF on taking people's jobs away and watching them beg for a bit of milk from the government teat to survive. Your side does NOT care about poor or minorities as you claim to, the pandemic made that crystal clear. Glad that finally got cleared up.

In other news, there are now more suicides in Japan than their COVID deaths. That blood is all on your hands, not ours.

What a genius you are. That strategy worked SO well in Sweden and now COVID has been eradicated in Sweden. Oh wait...

&&&

No, that is not what Sweden did. Sweden let everyone out. They did not order 80 plus year olds and the vulnerable to isolate. Rather they asked people to take personal responsibility for their own decisions about what they would do. In a herd immunity strategy which I'm not aware has been tried by ANY country, the old and vulnerable are under STRICT lockdowns while everyone else is under no lockdowns to allow the disease to spread among them.

Also, Sweden's strategy isn't going to work so well when other countries all around them aren't doing the same. They had no good control over it because of that X factor, so we don't really know whether it would have worked had they been isolated on their own to try it. So you can check your arrogance at the door.

So I guess you are admitting that no strategy has worked as of yet, as you can't seem to come up with a single example of success. Thus, you seem to be admitting that your lot couldn't have done it better. Glad we got that straight.

Elderly and at-risk were advised to isolate.

&&&

Advised. Under a true herd immunity plan, it's an order.

The Swedish were advised not to travel as well, they got a whole lot of advisements.

As per the usual, you embarrass yourself, having no idea what you're talking about.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

As for your usual crap about not caring about the poor and minorities, you are once agsin ignoring the fact that those populations are disproportionately impacted by COVID.

&&&

You're mistaken. It's your side that doesn't understand the reason they are disproportionately affected. Because they live in close proximity to each other, usually in the same home. It is easy to see this when looking at a map of Los Angeles, with almost no COVID cases in neighborhoods with single family homes with 3-4 people tops, and huge surges in large family areas.

Your lot said "STAY AT HOME." Minorities and the poor all went home with eight, ten, sixteen other people. And died. Hopefully you can live with that. Blood on your hands.

Great news!! In an about face, New York City will reopen schools next week. Great to see them growing the f up and following the science instead of the damn cowardly teachers unions.

“The truth is, for kids K-12, one of the safest places they can be, from our perspective, is to remain in school, and it’s really important that following the data, making sure we don’t make emotional decisions about what to close and what not to close,” Redfield said earlier in November. “I’m here to say clearly the data strongly supports that K-12 schools — as well as institutes of higher learning — really are not where we’re having our challenges.”

$$$

1. Kids don’t spread it as much as adults do
2. Few outbreaks are being traced to schools. Thousands of schools have had no problems whatsoever.
3. No teacher or healthy child has died as a result of opening schools.

Why not close schools which have issues but keep the rest open? That would actually make sense.

Hopefully New Jersey will also listen to the science AND common sense.

As for advised vs. ordered, what matters is COMPLIANCE and Swedish elderly compliance was reportedly high

&&&

Mask compliance in Los Angeles is reportedly high too. Not only do officials admit compliance is very high, but anecdotally, I literally have gone MONTHS since I last saw a person without a mask, and that person was homeless and muttering to himself. And here we are, on a lockdown with threats of an even STRICTER lockdown.

Masks don't work, your lot has had us running around like idiot with masks on our faces for six months and it hasn't done A THING.

It's embarrassing.

Mass protests at the county health director's house. Our "doctor" Ferrer, the one who couldn't even tell us what science she was relying on when she closed restaurants. You've lost the public. You're done.

Don't ever lecture anyone else about following science after making such an obscenely ignorant, anti-science statement. You are completely incapable of understanding the concept of mitigation.

&&&

There is nothing out there that proves with any kind of definitive certainty masks help. Studies have come out both ways--maybe they help maybe they don't. But maybe, maybe is the best they can get it. Hardly "science." At best, a hypothesis they COULD work. An common sense suggests they aren't having any bearing on a thing, given that they have been the control for six months while numbers have fluctuated wildly. It used to be science had to be definitive, until your lot came along. Dr. Quacks are not attractive.

Layla said...

So Mady didn't make the charcuterie board? That's disappointing--I was actually impressed. I did find the addition of corn nuts to be an odd choice, but hey--to each their own. I guess I should have been tipped off to the fakery of it by Kate's comment that "my fashionista can cook". You assemble a charcuterie board, you don't cook it. I guess Mady has learned well from her mother--taking credit for someone else's efforts and using "Kate speak" to create her desired impression. How disappointing.

My DIL is a master at putting together charcuterie boards, and she loves slipping in new things for people to try. The last time she made one she added a new cheese which is now my favorite--Sartori Merlot Bellavitano--which I would never have tried on my own, but now I love it.

Admin - the global number clearly show that general populations who have mask-mandates and high compliance clearly have lower Covid cases, hospitalizations and deaths that the US. Americans are not a group that collectively is following the guidelines as they feel it is infringing on their "freedoms and rights". Just look at the global numbers and compare them to the US.... why does the US have only 4% of the global population but over 20% of the deaths due to Covid? Could you please answer that question?

&&&

Simple, the science has answered that for you if you keep up with the science. Countries with significant health problems especially obesity have high COVID rates, as well as a significant older population--we have BOTH. A secondary factor is population density--zipcode by zipcode deaths almost universally follow high population density areas--poor and minorities all in one home. This is why the US has been hit rather hard as of late, and not because of the lie that "Trumpsters aren't following COVID restrictions." That is a flat out lie. We have obesity, we have a huge baby boomer population, and we have a ton of dense cities, far more than most countries have.

The BIGGEST factor for COVID thus far, is your obesity/poor health rates and your population density. Masks, social distancing, washing hands--have little to do impact. This is why there are almost no cases in Sheridan Wyoming, but tons in Norwalk, CA, a community of identical size.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Hear that Everybody, we have covid because we're fat.

***

Actually, yes.

Science, it is what it is.

You can make fun of it all you want, but the SCIENCE and studies are showing countries with high rates of obesity, like the US and UK, have suffered far more from COVID. We have the numbers, hospitals are carefully tracking who is getting it and whether they are obese.

I'm not sure why you're so afraid of the science. I guess maybe because that means it's really no one's fault, you can't blame Trumpsters for everyone being obese.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Admin - are you actually suggesting that the US has higher population density than Asian countries? Really? I would be interested where you are getting that information.

&&&

We have more population density volume, because we are so large. A country abroad may have 2-3 cities over a million, we have 10.

We also cram 3-4 families living in a 1-2 bedroom apartment, whereas many other first world countries don't tolerate this sort of squaller.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Asian countries have very few obese people, which is the other main factor. I know it's hard to understanding, but multiple factors are happening at once.

Bottom line is your lot has creepy tunnel vision on this to our determent, stubbornly wants all our problems to be because of "masks" so you can play the blame game, when in fact, it is factors that can't be affected by something as simple as mask compliance.

Already LA officials are scolding us for having Thanksgiving with our families, even though in addition to it being none of their business who we ate with on Thursday in our private homes, they also have no idea whether it's going to do anything to the numbers. It will be weeks before we will have any idea whether Thanksgiving is affecting the numbers--and even if they do go up, it will be hard to prove whether it was Thanksgiving or something else, like ordering people to go to their homes at the exact same time (of course they will blame Thanksgiving, and not their own idiot policies), because this lot apparently doesn't understand the oh so difficult concept of intervening variables.

This kind of rhetoric is extremely off putting to the average person. Talk to people on the streets of LA or wherever you happen to me and you'll really get a sense of where people's heads are--and it's not with the media's agenda.

Anon2 said...

Admin: you posted that the US has more cases/hospitalizations/deaths b/c of high population density AND obesity. I agreed about the obesity but questioned your fact about higher population densities. The density of the poor populations in Asia far out numbers the density of your 10 cities of million+.
But yes, absolutely agree that there are multiple factors that are at play, AND would add there are multiple layers of mitigating your risk of getting it.
If you were standing next to someone, and both of you were not wearing pants, and one person peed on you, you would get wet. If you were wearing pants, you would still get wet, but the pants would decrease the amount that would get through to your leg. Now if you were both wearing pants, you wouldn't get very wet as the other person's pants would block some of the urine. I know this is metaphor, but it shows how if we each wear pants, we can help decrease the spread.

Fact is the health care providers, from nurses and doctors down to housekeeping and dietary and everyone in between, are tired and exhausted. More cases, more hospitalizations, more staff burnout, and eventually you might see hospitals closing beds because there is not enough staff to cover those beds. I work outpatient setting and I'm tired!

I think you should wear one because there’s some evidence maybe they might work. But it’s also changing all the time. And there’s also evidence that they make little to no difference, including the recent European study. It’s also hard to have a control group and determine whether they work, since most people who wear masks also practice social distancing and washing their hands. So is it the mask or the social distancing and washing their hands? It also could be you’ve just never encountered the virus and that’s why you never got it. Despite the media hype, most people will never even encounter this virus. It’s actually really hard to tell Causation here. I think you should wear one because there’s some evidence maybe they might work and it doesn’t hurt (well unless you misuse it like touch it a lot, don’t wash it or use it when wet, then it can be really harmful). But it’s also changing all the time. And there’s also evidence that they make little to no difference. It’s hard to have a control group in determining whether they work, since most people who wear masks also practice social distancing and washing their hands. There goes another dictator taking away jobs who in fact is not scared of the very thing she just told us is so dangerous. Unbelievable:

Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl visited an eatery in Santa Monica, Calif., last week, just hours after she voted to ban outdoor dining at restaurants in the county due to COVID-19 safety concerns, according to a report.

Kuehl was seen dining outside at Il Forno Trattoria, an Italian restaurant near her house, Fox 11 Los Angeles reported. She had referred to outside dining as “a most dangerous situation” during an L.A. County Board of Supervisors meeting last Tuesday.

“This is a serious health emergency and we must take it seriously,” Kuehl said. “The servers are not protected from us, and they’re not protected from their other tables that they’re serving at that particular time, plus all the hours in which they’re working.”

Regardless of things, I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I think we all deserve an enjoyable break.

I suppose when, not if, but when Kate does move we'll all see where she ends up. She has nobody but to blame but her own self. It's not her children's doing. She's the adult she is the one responsible for the roof over their head. At least that's how I was brought up. Reality television should never have been her single source of income. It just shouldn't be a career to air your personal life for the world to see. Outside the world may not always be so kind but within the four walls of your own home you are family and you should make that your priority. She just seems to have become blinded by money to have let the outside in.

If she hadn't let the outside in, would she and job have gotten divorce? That's possible. But people get divorced everyday for one thing or another it happens and it's sad. But the world wouldn't have known. Would she and her kids still have gotten by on her nursing salary? Most likely because people do it everyday they just wouldn't have had everything their hearts desired. And you know what, that's more than most people have.

It's a sad reality that she traded her inside world for a look from the outside and now has to juggle where she'll end up in her 40's with who knows what's left. She could have just been grateful for what she had and been fine. So many of us forget that simplicity is key.

Again I hope everyone had a nice holiday and perhaps if you couldn't I hope in the least that you had someone who thought enough of you to make it nice for you.

The new guidelines will recommend close contacts of those infected with the coronavirus should quarantine for 7 to 10 days after exposure, down from the 14 days currently recommended, the official said. Grow the fuck up. They are adapting as they learn. Perhaps you are unclear on what the "novel" part of "novel coronavirus" means. It means NEW. And when something is NEW, grown ups engage in cycles of inquiry and research and adapt accordingly.

You’re making my exact point. I’m not at all in disagreement. I’m in total agreement with adapting and changing as the science rolls in, as we learn and develop more.

What I don’t like is the arrogant poo pooing from your side. That’s my point. So many are walking around like the latest information is the end all be all and that anyone who dares to ask questions about it or remain a bit skeptical is an ignorant Trumpster. Anyone who questions whether restaurants are closing wants people to die. I’m sorry but the ever changing science is nothing to hang your hat on here and the public is not wrong to be wary.

HINT kate, you are NOT a celebrity nor are you interesting. when the kids were babies it was interesting, "how the hell does a parent do it with that many?" but after the 1st or 2nd episode we all saw she wasnt doing anything. she was a snooze fest. the kids were adorable to watch. it quickly went from really cute to creepy as hell!

Two more senseless deaths of two innocent children due to "safer at home" policies". Their father DECAPITATED them.

Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris told the Los Angeles Times that both victims were decapitated, calling the incident “pretty brutal.”

A neighbor said a stench had been coming from the home for days, and he remembers recently hearing screams coming from the residence.

“It’s been going through my head,” he said. “Is there something I could have done? Should I maybe have reported it earlier?”

A man, woman and two other children who were also at the location were questioned by homicide investigators, officials said. One of the adults was taken to a hospital with breathing difficulties.

Deputies later said they arrested 34-year-old Maurice Taylor Sr. on suspicion of murder. He was being held at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station on $2 million bail, authorities said.

Parris told the Times he believes the gruesome deaths are related to the stress of the pandemic.

“The social fabric of the country and the world has been shredded, and we are starting to see the aftermath,” he said. “What I’m seeing is more and more people feeling desperate, and that can only have one result.”

Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-222-TIPS (8477).

Not so weird if you're a buyer just looking to score a deal over the holidays, often a great time to buy because it's mostly desperate sellers who are motivated, which is always good for a buyer.

I bet she uses this as an excuse to not buy the kids gifts. “I was too busy packing all by my lonesome. Blame your deadbeat dad”

I don't think the production company was Figure 8, but this news shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Are you paying attention, K8?

Jacob was the youngest regular sized child of little people parents. He left the show at 18, and you could tell he was disgruntled with it. His sister left the show when she went to college. The regular sized twin son was on the show for a while with his wife and kids but left. The little person twin son is the only one on there with his wife and kids. I hope the producer is gone. And what other shows with kids has the producer worked on? TLC has some explaining to do.

Sad but true said...

nc said... 149

Also not surprisingly, TLC feels bad but refuses to be accountable. And strictly speaking, their contracts with these production companies probably specifically absolve them of this sort of liability. Whether or not that holds up in court, I do not know.

"TLC responded to Jacob’s allegations in a statement to Us Weekly on Wednesday, December 16: “TLC was just informed about an alleged encounter that occurred years ago involving a third party connected to the production of Little People, Big World. We are saddened and troubled by this very serious allegation, and TLC will work cooperatively with the authorities. Our main focus remains on supporting the Roloff family during this very difficult time.”

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

You know, this explains why Jacob has always acted like SOMETHING bad happened to cause him to hate working so, but would never say what. I'm really sorry to hear this.

I'm unclear if he told his parents, but if he did, that's kind of sick, if they continued on with the show knowing it brought such trauma to him.

Sadly, I would not be surprised if the Gosselins were also molested at some point. Few people actively seek to work on a kiddie show, or stay on such a show forever as their crew did.

And look at TLC immediately trying to establish their own innocence. This was a "third party" and years ago. Like that matters.

Moving in winter in PA is going to be a big pain in the y'know what. Kate is from PA so I wish her the best with that with or without a choice in the matter. Being from the upper Midwest it isn't a picnic. I helped my son and my daughter in law move once. You just get dumped on in some cases.

She made her choices in life, these are the results of her choices. So, should we feel sorry for her? The children yes because children do not have a choice but to go along with the anything other than the choices their parents make.

The same for any family who does realty television. You cannot tell me Matt nor Amy couldn't have weighed those thoughts as parents that the more adults that have access to your children on a daily basis something could possibly ever go wrong? I'm an old lady, I have raised 3 children, I have 7 grandchildren now. And every time I let my kids go to sleep over I thought: who are they staying with, who is going to be at their house? Who comes over to their house the most? Who is going to be at their birthday party? Isn't it odd when some adult I didn't know happens to spend a lot of time with one of the kids?

I wasn't paranoid but I did pay attention to my kids, where they went, who was with them or WHY even my son not just my girls. Fact is these parents an Kate opened their home up to who knows who, camera change and that's creepy. Truth is Kate saying grown men were like extra dad's always rubbed me the wrong way. That's not normal.

Germany, Iceland, and a host of other European public health agencies are continuing to insist that schools remain open despite Europe having a surge right now. (Oops, guess all that criticism about the USA was wrong, Europe too now is having the same exact surges).

All countries are pointing to research that shows children both contract it AND spread it more than HALF as frequently as adults, and that keeping children out of school is disastrous for their mental health and hard on the poor. It's nice to see Europe standing up for their children.

Why don’t they offer up cash to help someone else? Scum bags!

The article does not sat that this is exclusively a "Hollywood" phenomenon. LA has plenty of wealthy folk who don't work in the industry. It seems that your issue is not with people in general trying (and so far failing) to pay their way to the front of the line,your issue is with those with whom you disagree pol
politically doing so (or trying).

We've been seeing how sick and selfish the great freedom fighters are for 9 months. Funny how those same people who have defied public health orders and recommendations and thrown out the Nazi label have no problem taking a free vaccine from that same government.

A vaccine helps you open up your business, of course it makes sense for anyone halfway rational to want to take it. Contrary to the media portraying the right as "not scientific" that is exactly why most of the right is just fine with the vaccine, because it has been tested in an extremely scientific way to glowing results (you're welcome). It is scary that it came so fast, but that's thanks to Trump, and the fact that science has proven is safe fast instead of slow, doesn't mean it's unsafe. Although I certainly have some compassion for anyone nervous about such a fast vaccine, of course that's understandable. I still laugh that your lot's "fact checkers" kept fact checking that Trump would not have a vaccine in December. OOP! My dad is getting it the 21st. You're welcome.

Asking people to shut down so they cannot work IS selfish, especially after almost a YEAR of this now, when the sick and vulnerable could be unselfish for once and isolate themselves from those who need to WORK to LIVE. Asking a restaurant to close for ten months virtually ensures you will kill that family's livelihood forever. That is the epitome of selfish, especially when SCIENCE, yes SCIENCE, is proving that SAFER AT HOME is spreading the disease at a rate of 70% versus any way else. Oh wait, I told your dumb ass that safer at home was not safe in MARCH. You didn't listen. The Texas governor went OFF on California the other day for killing so many people with their asinine stay at hone policies, it was pretty epic.

As for masks, regrettably I have to agree with you there anyone refusing to wear a mask is being selfish. I have said from day one I have no problem asking people to wear masks and while the evidence for them has proven flimsy (places with very good high mask compliance have had their fair share of surges), it does not hurt your business in any manner to wear them. I am in Oklahoma this weekend and the mask compliance is 100 percent wherever I go. Literally haven't seen a single person without it. So too is it high in Los Angeles. One city is having a terrible surge with hospitals at capacity, the other is not. Explanation?

No it’s not. I saw many people on nursing home outbreak lists recently who were also on the list in the spring. I would go to add their name to a spreadsheet and their name autopopukated and I checked and sure enough positive in the spring and again in the summer ir fall.

Well, anecdotal evidence doesn't prove the science wrong. The science remains, it is extremely rare to contract COVID twice. The fact that some people do does not disprove how rare it is. But you do raise another point. False positives or symptomless positives. Five people at my dad's nursing home tested positive for COVID this summer (despite, by the way, full on hazmat suits all day every day). Only two ever showed symptoms. Are we to believe those people had covid and just never showed symptoms? Or was it a false positive? What about the numerous false positives from professional football players? And by the way, those three cases "count" as a case even though no one was harmed in any way by them.

I actually know someone who tested positive THREE times for COVID, a 17 year old. Never once had symptoms.

Lol. Is that why they keep electing Republicans literally everywhere?

I don't "hate" anyone. But I do think you support policies that seriously, gravely damage the poor and minorities that you claim to love to the point where they are offing themselves, and you are compromised of a bunch of hypocrites. It's not even an opinion anymore, it's a fact. Care for me to rattle off all the Democrats who took away jobs drove people to suicide then went out and enjoyed a nice meal or vacation in violation of said policies? Asshats. How can you be proud of be part of that? How can you live with this?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Funny how surveys show that Republicans are LESS likely to say they'll take the vaccine than Democrats. My point remains that if you have been downplaying COVID, defying public health orders and recommendations and screaming about Nazis, it's pretty damn laughable when you have no problem getting your vaccine courtesy of the government.

&&&

I'm not sure why you see the humor in this. The vaccine is based on meticulously, tried and true science. In contrast, many of the COVID measures people objected to were NOT based on science at all. In fact, two judges now in Southern California have reversed the order closing restaurants for exactly that reason, the counties failed to show closing restaurants was scientifically sound. Hate to say it, but it is what it is.

For myself, I always supported COVID measures that were science and stats based, and objected to those that were not. For instance I support isolating the elderly and underlining conditions, as that is supported by the science and stats. Isolating third grades is the very opposite of what the science tells us. And don't say "but they can spread it!" because science does not support THAT either.

Again, nothing funny here, unless you consider logically thinking funny.

This is already a shitshow when certain people who claim to have everyone's best interest at heart are in charge. So far they are ranging from total doofus to complete scumbags.

Did you hear about Stanford? They completely left out medical residents from the vaccine. The poor things had to PROTEST in order to get somebody to listen that they needed it. Professors working from home from their seaside abodes were getting offered the vaccine before a resident nursing a dying COVID patient in a county hospital.

Like, what the fuck?

You do realize that the next president is not a Republican, right? While it is true that the Republicans picked up a few seats in the House, the "literally everywhere" comment is hyperbolic and patently false, as per your usual.

&&&

I guess state legislatures mean nothing to you? Typical liberal, who could care less about places like North Dakota or South Carolina or Montana. Most state legislatures are overwhelming Republican or at the very least it's close, even liberal states. Even in California, which picked up an incredible amount of Republican state seats this year. As per the usual you're in your ivory tower bubble with all your city friends judging the rest of the heart of America having no idea how people really live and what their needs are.

Nobody who has tried to jump the line was named. A doctor with celebrity patients was interviewed and a couple of the patients were identified. The article did not say that those individuals specifically had tried to buy their to the front. If their names come out and you can tie the individuals to "vocal wokeness" then you will have a point. Your rant based on the LA Times article has no basis in fact.

Wow, that is quite an insinuation. Pedophiles...or people who wanted to be employed? I'm sure they'd all rather have been working on a Scorcese film, but a gig is a gig. To attach some sinister motive to being the long-term sound guy on a reality show featuring kids is beyond the pale.

&&&

Unfortunately, you are hopelessly naive. It won't matter how many men seek out job that involve lots of alone time with little children, how many of them indeed end up being pedophiles. I mean good lord, there already WAS a pedophile who worked for the Gosselins who went to jail! What more do you need to believe this?

Yes, I raise an eyebrow at any man who actively seeks out spending ten years of his career working on a kiddie show that gives him lots of opportunities to be alone with six-year-olds. It is what it is and I make no apologies for it. And apparently, Jacob, who actually has been molested, feels the same. I think you should defer to someone who has actually been through it and knows.

Also, all the repugs who thought the virus was a HOAX have moved to the front of the line for vaccines. You must be so proud of them.

Being against virus restrictions isn’t the same thing as thinking the virus is a hoax. The vaccine IS the best way out of the virus why wouldn’t they be for something so scientific? I’m not sure I see the disconnect. That being said I happen to believe that young healthy politicians should wait on the vaccine as some are from both sides of the aisle. Be American for once and let the weaker and more vulnerable go first.

You sound very jealous that trump promised a safe and effective vaccine by 2020 and delivered. Why can’t we put politics aside and be proud as a nation of such an extraordinary accomplishment. One that, you seem loathe to admit, only capitalism could have ever accomplished. Amazing how fast people work when the payoff is getting rich. Thank GOD socialists aren’t in charge. Millions of people would have died otherwise, no laughing matter.

Once again, you prove that you are a petulant child unable to grasp the concept of mitigation who is pretending that the second wave of COVID was never predicted.

&&&

We were promised and assured that we would mitigate the second wave if we just cancelled Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, football, restaurants, jobs, closed nursing homes to visitors for a year while they waste away of broken hearts, didn't send kids to school or let them do anything.

We did all this. The second wave was not slowed or even mitigated. All the stats now prove what I told you in APRIL, that shutting down WORSENS the problem.

The concept is simple yet so hard for you to admit for some reason--sending people HOME sends poor and minorities into households of 10-15 people or more and worsens the spread. All the studies prove now that HOUSEHOLD transmission blows out of the water any other way of transmission by over 75 percent. The numbers are what they are and can't be argued with. And yet the idiots in California keep shutting down when literally the entire rest of the country understands that shutting down doesn't help anymore and won't do it.

I know the concept of "counterintuitive" is difficult for you, but the counterintuitive thing we should have done was open up. Texas is wide open, I'm here now. With masks and social distancing, and they are far and away doing much better than the hard lockdowns of California. In the end, we were right. You were wrong. Sadly, you had to kill people to try to stubbornly prove your point. That's on you.
