Kate and twins attend TLC Block Party today
Despite the firestorm over the Duggars, TLC hasn't cancelled their media event. The Duggars won't be there anymore, but Kate is scheduled to attend.

Also, since when does "everyone" think she lives in Philly? I've never heard that before, ever. I think it's pretty well understood she lives somewhere in southern PA, but NOT a city.

6 – Bible verses twisted to uniquely fit leader’s need to keep everyone obedient.
7 – Women kept unnaturally child-like.
8 – Biggest threat to followers to insure obedience is being cast out of the family group.
9 – Communal living with most possessions being shared.
10- Fee thinking or questioning the leader is punishable.
11- Sublimation of ego required.
12- Group controlled by fear mongering by leader.
13- Women have no rights to their own bodies or personal autonomy.
14- “Us Versus The World” group thinking.
15- Women are required to have a joyful attitude all of the time.
16- No disobedience to the leader is allowed.
17- Women not allowed to say no to sex.
18- No protection against sexual abuse for the children of the group.
19- Molestation of children by family members.
20- No legitimate educational opportunities for children. Education is denigrated.
21- Natural home birth is upheld as the ultimate goal of motherhood.
22- Children are handed off to others in the group to raise instead of each mother raising their own children.
23- Women do all of the work of running the home.
I know I’ve missed a few, but these are the ones that jumped out at me this morning. Don’t believe me about the total control the patriarch exhibits? Just take a look at how Jim Bob Duggar deals with catching a son masturbating.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will be appearing on Fox News to be interviewed by Megyn Kelly over their son’s sex crimes. It takes place Wednesday at 9 pm est. Feel pretty sure it’s going to be the biggest pile of bullshit since the last time Charlie Manson turned on the charm to seduce girls into joining The Family.

I'm thinking back on reading Robert's account of Kate picking up a dude at the park-when she took her kids to play. Robert wrote that the word around town was that this guy bedded her and bragged about it.

Kate doesn't get up all that damn early to begin with. Heck, we were just in the OBX and I wanted to watch the sunrise some mornings, and we were on the beach with our dogs at 5:40am!
We loved feeling like we were squeezing every minute out of the day and seizing it!
I remember sleeping in as a teen. I probably slept in on weekends in my early-mid 20's. But, after that, perhaps after the occasional late night out with drinks.
Now, I'm early to bed, early to rise so that I can enjoy the day.

Excellent point. Doesn't he have at least one brother? Plus I believe he remained on good terms with Kevin and Jodi, so it would be nice if the children get to see their aunt, uncle and cousins once in awhile. Unlike Kate, Jon strives to be likeable and I believe he probably has good relations with most of his family, including extended family members.
Why do you think Victorian ladies fainted so frequently? One of the organs that gets squeezed unmercifully by a corset is the lungs. When you're surprised or shocked, you tend to gasp. If you try to gasp and can't get any air in, you'll keel over.
Cosplayer and Victoriana buff here...that's actually not true. A well-fitted corset shouldn't constrict the lungs to any reasonable degree. Fainting in the Victorian era was actually less medical than it was societal. It was considered a way to avoid potentially embarrassing situations or extract yourself out of an awkward conversation without either party feeling insulted; more often than not, the ladies only pretended to faint.

I don't think any of the tups have activities outside of school, so the thought of Kate eating most meals in her car is a joke.
Most sane, mature parents, married or otherwise, can see through her b.s.
Her kids have a dad and if she didn't feel the need to hate him so much and look like a martyr in comparison, she would co-parent with him and share the normal duties of parents with busy kids.
Her kids do virtually nothing but film and that's sad.
Someone was telling me that an Atlanta Falcon football player was dog sitting his girlfriend's little Yorkie and that he kicked it to death because the dog was "bothering " him. Apparently the girlfriend reported the guy to the police and the police charged him with animal cruelity. He was charged in the morning and by noon the Atlanta Falcons released him. Does anyone know if that story is true??
If story is true about the Falcons that was a bold move. I understand that they went through a lot with Michael Vick but at least they acted quickly on this case. That's what TLC should have done with the Duggars. It's not like they had to investigate to see if the molestation was true, there's documentation to prove that it happened.
I have zero respect for TLC. And for them to continue filming the mother of 8 who abuses babies and puppies is disgusting. Yea, TLC continue to reward Kate , maybe this summer you can send her to an all paid vacation to Europe . But it better be first class because we all know how hard she works.
BTW, if TLC can't or won't get rid of the Duggars what does that tell us about Kate the abuser of babies and puppies!

I give her credit for not even trying to hide that she loves to just do nothing. For her that probably means get pampered and sit by the pool.
A normal mother would say that oh goodness the summer is going to be so busy! We've got summer camp lined up, a family trip to the lake, we're tearing down the old porch and building a new one, the kids will be having sleepovers every weekend, and summer soccer starts next week! I'm sure the kids will also be working on their summer projects for school, they're supposed to read a few books. Can't wait!

I don't get why Kate would even venture to correct something not even brought up in the interview. She was jus asked if she availed herself of the great stuff in Philly, and she felt the need to say she's not from Philly.
OK, whatever.
Often times, people will give the nearest major metropolitan area rather than their little town that nobody's heard of as their place of birth or where they live.
The vast majority of people wouldn't be able to place Hershey, PA, other than it's somewhere between the bookends of Pennsylvania; Philly and Pittsburgh.
So, that cleared up nothing.
I've always got the feeling that Kate doesn't care for Philly and never felt a connection to it, even though she lives not too far away.
Jon, on the other hand, seems to love it.

Kate's wishing it was summer all year long is another juvenile attitude for a parent to have. My summers were great as a kid, but school was way more important, and my mother let us know that.
All kids need to know that vacation is a nice bonus that American kids have been enjoying for quite some time now, but it's artificial.
Jobs don't go away for 2-3 months at a time. In real life, you get short breaks. Most people don't get sabbaticals. You work hard and hopefully get to enjoy a nice retirement.
This needing of enormous breaks is just breeding laziness and entitlement into her kids.
Heck, at the twins age, they could be doing some work part time.

Boy, that Philly Magazine interview had a lot of codswollop. This is one part I thought was noteworthy:

I don’t know all that is available in Philly. There is nothing in my area, so I don’t get out enough to have a favorite restaurant. I am usually at Target or the grocery store. That’s the truth. But, when I do get to Philly, it is very beautiful, and I should come more, because it is right in my backyard.
Where aren't there restaurants? Wernerville? Hershey? Reading? Lancaster? And what about her beloved Chipolte? Did her gift cards run out? Also, she was asked about Philly, not her home. Way to not understand/answer a simple question.

Although I live in Canada and want to come back as a Black Bear next life...Hibernate all winter and roam free all summer! This weather is killing me...mind wants to wake up, body says wait, sleep some more...it is COLD here =(

Geez maybe that's why I've been so sleepy lately. I'm depressed. I have always gone to sleep in the wee hours of the night and wake up at 6:30 AM every morning without an alarm clock. And I don't take naps during the day. I figure that I can sleep when I'm dead and I want to enjoy life while I can!
But a few weeks ago I got up with my knee hurting. I thought maybe I pulled a muscle while I was sleeping or it was the cold spell we were having in LA. Pain wouldn't go away. I used Ben Gay, a heated knee pad and took Motrin. Nothing. After suffering for a few days my hubby made a Dr. appt. without telling me and forced me to go.
Doctor did an examination and tells me I have a tear in my meniscus. What the hell is a meniscus and who tore it??? It sure wasn't me, I was sleeping! Doctor tells me that I need an MRI and is giving me medication. One week later I don't have the pain medication or the MRI taken because the insurance company hasn't given approval. The insurance company that between my hubby and I pay close to $7000/per year takes about two weeks to give its approval.
So what is the point about this story? That you Candians are freaking lucky with your health care and America's health care sucks!
Oh, and that I'm depressed and sleepy.

I've read from more than one reliable source that young people do indeed need more sleep during their teen years. 40-year-old women who have nothing to do all day but sit by the pool do not. Nor does she need to crawl back between the sheets when her kids are in school.

They absolutely do, it's a scientific fact. Their biological rhythm also causes them to stay up late and be able to sleep until ten or noon. This usually settles down into more of a 7-8 hours a night, 10pm to 6 am-ish schedule by 25 or so. That's why it's totally normal for your 8 year old to be up at 6 am watching cartoons, while your 14 year old sleeps until noon.
She might be one of those rare Einsteins who requires 12 hours of sleep. What I don't understand is why the incessant need to talk about it, like it's a badge of honor. It's also not realistic, because most people with kids her age would never get to sleep in even if they wanted to.
I believe the reason why krieder comes across as unbelievably vapid and stupid is that she kinda is. But more than that, her poor widdle brainy brain is completely overwhelmed by all the lies she can't keep straight and the talking points spoon fed to her by steviepoo. When asked something as straightforward as a favorite restaurant, y'know for good PR for PA, thunk, lead balloon. Huh? What? Not talking about me? Wait huh? Can't bring up the kids? Or can't throw Jon under the bus? Duhhhhhh....
I like how Kate invoked her nursing ex-career once again. She never wants to practice, but hell if she won't use it for her own gain.
Kate "triages" the kid duties like she triaged as a nurse.

Thank you Tucker's. I laughed out loud at that and boy did I need it. All this Duggar drama has hit very close to home and I'm finding myself heart sick.

That little boy was also the one that got in a heap of trouble for smiling and waving at the ''P People'' at that same time! The poor little thing covered his face in an effort to avoid yet another beat down from his abusive mother!
Yes, Yes and Yes again. We Canadians are so blessed to have such an all-inclusive health care system.
Following my husband's double hip replacement surgery he had in-home therapy for a month. He was also eligble for in- home meal preparation and housecleaning services but we declined because I was able to provide those services as his caregiver.
Five years after that our family doctor detected a slight heart murmur. He was referred to a Cardiologist who made arrangement immediately for him to have all sorts of tests, MRI, etc. and within two weeks it was determined he required a triple by-pass. Within one week he was operated on by a well-known Cardiac surgeon at the world renowned Sunnybrook Hospital. He was in Sunnybrook for two weeks following by another two weeks in a re-hab hospital.
When he came home after a month in hospital, he again was eligible for the same in-home care as before, but again we declined as I was able to provide his needs.
Because he now has arthritis and uses a walker, he (and I as his support person) have Wheel Trans privileges, which means that we are able to have transportation (by accessable van or taxis) anywhere in Metropolitan Toronto. This service costs us one bus ticket ($1.95) each way.
His medication (currently seven prescriptions) is also covered (he pays the first $100. yearly, and the balance amounting to thousands of dollars is covered by our Government). I should also add that the Government
waves the $100. charge for low income people.
All this medical attention has not cost us one cent beyond the income tax which he pays - and would have to pay in any case.
Our health care system is I believe the greatest in the world and is financed through income tax and is further subsidized by Provincial Lotteries.
We are envied by my American cousins who can't believe the excellent care my husband has received (for free, as they say) beyond the income tax he pays. As Canadians, we find it hard to understand the rigmarole our U.S. cousins go through to obtain the health care services they require.

That was my point. I am one of those 'Einsteins" that needs 12-14 hours of sleep a day for my brain to fully function.
I got pregnant at 30...and for the last 18 years have subsisted on 6 hours or less a day, now that DD is in college and I can finally sleep, you bet your ass I am!
notice, my lack of sleep was accumulated during years of pre-dawn wake-ups followed by after-school activicty and washed down with the occasional flu.
I thank my lucky stars every day for every minute of sleep I ,lost, I gained a life of memories.

I thought Jon seemed very relaxed and happy with his new job as a DJ. He recognizes he provides a draw from his time on television, and that combined with this niche he has found sounds like a win/win. Who knew Jon loves music, I am sure Kate did not allow music to be played in their house.
I liked his tone, he instinctively protects his children, unlike the TFW who does so to protect her investment. He politely declined to discuss Hannah and the custody situation, and he did not diss Kate when asked about her time on CA. He is a good person who seems to be finding himself and putting things in to perspective. He loves his kids and that really shines through.
I often wonder if Jody, Kevin, Beth or other family members/friends are called upon to help with the kids when Jon is working. It would be so nice to think they see the people they grew up so comfortable with, people who love them, not just a nanny or local babysitter.

I think I have said it before but I too am a victim of molestation. Maybe that is why I am so angry about this. What Josh did was disgusting and wrong but also what the parents did was even more wrong. Those girls did nothing yet they were made to feel like they contributed to their own digital rape.
My sister's husband did the same to me and my little sister (although at the time we thought we were the only ones) I was babysitting for my sister and her husband and it was late so I just spent the night with them and slept on the couch. I was fully clothed. I woke up to being touched all over. It happened several more times. I was 11. I felt like I had no one to turn to for trust. One day my little sister who was 8 was crying because she didn't want to go to our older sisters house. I just felt it...I knew. So I asked her and after I had made my intention to tell my parents consequences be damned he left me alone and turned to my younger sister solely. He even showed her pictures -there was no internet at the time thank god.
One day we were home alone and my sister's husband came over. We locked the door and didn't let him in. About 10 minutes later our older sister came over spitting fire because we didn't let him in and he needed to use the phone. Our mom came home and a screaming match ensued and we finally told them why we didn't let him in. My mom's first thought was "you girls better not be lying" Then she called our pastor.
My sister's husband was never punished legally because they were poor and the thought was my sister couldn't support her 3 boys and it was a private matter. Then our pastor counseled us girls that we must go before the church to ask forgiveness because we "let" it happen. My mom even told my dad to not blame the church. (he wasn't religious like my mom)
It has been over 36 years and it STILL bothers me a LOT. How dare he...how dare that preacher. Why did my mom look at us like we had done anything wrong. WTF
Today my husband tolerates my sister's husband because I love my sister but I don't know how the hell she stayed with him or even had another child after that.

You're very welcome!! I've been to two of his concerts back in the 70's. Back then he put on a great show, and from numerous reviews I've read, he still does.
I'm glad that "One Voice" is also on the set list, although it's part of a medley. That is one of my favorite songs of his and its message holds as true today as it did back when he wrote it.

I thought the same thing. He seemed to handle the interview questions fairly well. I liked how he politely told the interviewer that the custody issues are private, and she smoothly moved on. I hope he continues to get work as a DJ. I think that type of work situation probably suits his personality very well.

Teens do need more sleep, but I found that they stay up very late and then sleep until noon if you let them. There is a line, though, because sleeping all the time is indeed a sign of depression. It happened to me.
I don't understand what it is about Kate ALWAYS complaining about being tired ALL the time. All the kids are in school and she has "imaginary" help. She is sooooo lazy. That's why I believe she absolutely has the kids make their own breakfast every morning. No way is she up frying eggs.

I'm not so sure a reality show will accomplish that. A documentary might enlighten some people of the problems transgenders face, but given the lowbrow reputation reality television has earned itself over the last few years, I don't think it's the way to go. I'm posting this only to show there were rumors about Josh back in late 2013 and early 2014. I didn't look any earlier than the above page. They seem to have been pretty much spot on.
Somebody photoshopped Caitlyn to look like Geena Davis. Whatever makes him (her?) happy. I think I'll watch his reality show pseudo documentary. I kind of found his Diane Sawyer interview interesting. There's something intriguing about a sports star treated like a Greek god with a secret like this. I wish the media would pick this subject up and go full force. The Duggars had this book on their website "To Train Up A Child" by the Pearls. I saw a photo of their website when this book was on their website as recommending reading. After three children died following the advice in this book, they removed it from their website.
Go to Amazon and read some of the reviews. I will post only one.

Megyn Kelly was on Bill O'Reilly tonight and discussed the Duggar interview. Bill asked her if she had already done it and she said no, Wed. morning at their home in AR. She said she wants to know what they did and did not do with regard to the child molestation among other things. She didn't blame the media. However, I was disheartened to hear her say that supposedly the report shouldn't have been released and that the victims did not want it released. I'm thinking, well of course the victims didn't want it released because they are Josh's sisters and they think the molestation is their fault. I no longer have high hopes for this interview.
Caitlyn Jenner has nicer boobs than I do. That is just not right.
On a happier note, grandbaby #3 arrived this morning. A beautiful boy weighing in at 7lbs 12 oz and 20 1/2" long. Mommy, Daddy and baby are doing well. Daughter texted lots of pictures and we're meeting him tomorrow. Can't wait.

I had to drive through Wernersville twice on Sat. It is not ghettosville or whatever the hell Kate says. It is a very nice town. Most houses are nicely kept. There are no slums. The houses along Rt 422 are mostly more modest income. Other places in the zip code are bigger houses like Kate's. I have no idea why she thinks Hershey is so much more cosmopolitan. They do have Hershey Park. Does she like roller coasters? Reading has a theater and an arena. Recently there have some pretty big names at the arena, the biggest being Elton John. Reading has a professional symphony, an opera group, the Goggle Works for art, and one of the best minor league baseball parks in the country. I agree it's not NYC but the area leaders are really trying to make things nice. There are parts of the city of Reading that are truly poor and have crime but she doesn't have to go there.
Why did they buy the house in Wernersville if she hates it there so much? Or she could move. She has a pretty wide area to move to and still keep her kids in that school. Or if Hershey is that incredible, I'm sure they have a better school. I don't know that Jon could stop her from moving that short distance.

I won't lie, when the first rumors about Bruce Jenner having a sex change came out, I did think it was a publicity stunt for the show. I wouldn't have put it past any of that family to generate something like that. (Does anyone remember when Kim was the hanger-on to Paris Hilton in the early 2000s? Man, does that seem like a long time ago...) It's only been recently that I realized, no, wait, he's actually doing this. Because being a famewhore is one thing, publicly going through sexual reassignment, step by step, is something else entirely. This is NOT an easy thing to go through, either for him or for his family...and the latter, trust me, I know, I've been there.
My ex-boyfriend became my ex-girlfriend. I didn't find out until a few months after we'd broken up, and only via Facebook– I'd thought something was a little "off", to be impolite, when we were dating...maybe that he was bi or gay, certainly that he was from a very, very sheltered type of background. When he came out as a she, I have to admit I burst into laughter– so THAT explained it!– and it took a while to accept the fact that the guy I knew (with the coolest beard I'd EVER seen) was now...not a guy.
It was HARD reconciling that, if only for...well, the sheer absurdity of it all. That's just a scenario that you never expect to happen to you. I make an effort to use female pronouns when I talk to/about her (we're still friends), but mentally, I still think of her as a man, and I don't know if I'll ever get over that hurdle. It's a strange situation to be in, and I can't imagine being either Bruce Jenner's biological or step-children. My situation isn't nearly as close to the bone as theirs, and it's weird enough for me.
I kind of feel like an asshole, sometimes– two of my cousins are gay, and my aunt, multiple friends... I'm bi and I spent my childhood in San Francisco for Chrissakes...so I'm not uncomfortable with alternative lifestyles. But it's still hard to accept my ex's transition, especially since I was the last person he dated before he became a she.
If the Kardashians can come through and accept all of this...you know what, famewhoring be damned, good on them. They may be exploiting their feelings for ratings, but there is no way they aren't feeling some deep confusion and, dare say, reluctance as all of this unfolds.

Because she's an idiot. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine when people borrow a nearby town as their town. I don't mind if you're doing it to give outsiders a better idea of where you live, but then you should qualify it with, for example, the Springfield area, or outside Springfield. But people do it to those who know exactly where they live if the said so, and they just say Springfield instead of explaining that's not really where they live, it's just near it.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, either. Hey, if I wanted to get the Duggars' arses into my tv studio, I would say exactly what Meagyn did.
"Look, come in and tell us your story. Tell us what we're wrong about".
And then, take it from there. Try to pry out what really happened vs. their glossy talking points. Point out discrepancies and push for clarifications. As Judge Judy always says, you don't have to think a whole lot when you're telling the truth.
Appeal to their Christian sense of telling the truth and knowing lying and deceit is a sin.
The Duggars are not going to sit down to a "gotcha" journalist's wet dream of an interview. It's just not going to happen.
Everyone wants the truth and most want justice and healing. But, we can't demand it.
If the truth is going to come out, it has to be finessed out of these cagey Christians.

Okay, folks, hold your horses. As a Canadian I can look dispassionately at your political arguments and a lot of you are doing the Duggars a great big favour right now by making this story about politics. The words Republican or Democrat should not be used when talking about this story.
What Megan said was that Bill Clinton was accused of rape and that the liberal media were saying politicians having their picture taken with Josh Duggar was as bad. She was not comparing the actions of Josh Duggar to the actions of Bill Clinton.
She did not say she would be going easy on the Duggars. She said she wouldn't be asking the specifics of what happened to the victims. She also stated that the FOIA didn't apply to minors and she seemed as concerned that Josh's sealed records were released illegally and that the victims were exposed as a result. (I don't know if that's true about the legality issue but it sounds reasonable)
Believe me, if the Duggars and their people want this to go away, bringing politics into it is working. The same with mentioning Christianity. They can use that and play the persecution card. Let's focus on their actions or non-actions and not be distracted.
I found the segment to be mostly fair and unbiased when discussing the Duggars.
It will be interesting to see if she gets enough material for the additional hour on Friday or if the interview will get terminated early. I'll bet she won't sleep between now and Wednesday morning, she'll be working on her strategy. Believe me, these religious fundies can and do talk in circles.
I'm also betting she won't be going with a sleeveless, vee-neck outfit. I think she'll be covered up.

I've been under the assumption the the release of the police report under the FOIA was all legit. I thought the police chief acted as directed under the law.
What Fox is arguing is that the report should have never been released because Josh was a minor.
If this is true, then it needs to be addressed.
Kelly says she plans on asking the question about why the parents didn't do what they should have done and report Josh the proper way in an expedient manner. But, she's not going to get into the nitty gritty details of what exactly happened to whom, and I agree with that.
If the victims wish to tell their story, it should be up to them to give the details.
Legally or not, we all know what Josh did and to whom.
On one hand, I want to Duggars to admit it. To speak the damn words that their son molested their daughters and another girl outside the family. I would like the Duggars to say that Josh's youngest victim was 5 years old.
I don't want the victims to be traumatized and I'm pretty darn sure they have had no real counseling or support that would help them heal in the way they need to heal.

I watched Jon's interview. Here it is, 2015, and I find it compelling that when asked what's the one thing that bothers him, his reply was that he was accused of cheating on his ex-wife because he did not.His story has remained the same.
So I've always had this theory. Kate wanted to be rid of Jon. She was the star and he was making noises about not wanting to film any longer. Plus she was crushing on Steve. I think a plot was hatched to kill two birds with one stone: get rid of Jon (the bad guy) and make Kate the wronged wife.
I remember Jon saying that when he started going out and staying out late, Kate never asked where he went or what he was doing. He took it that she did not care. But perhaps she did not ask because she knew where he was, as in being tailed by a paid pap waiting for that incriminating money shot. It just seems to me that if he did cheat on Kate, he would rather not bring it up than deny it consistently. It's what an innocent person would do.

My hopes are sinking, too. However, if these documents were released illegally, that needs to be addressed.
If Josh's rights were violated, that needs to be addressed (but not used to obfuscate the real issue here).
On one hand, I want the unvarnished truth to be discussed-that the victims were his sisters, including a 5-year old, because I think that's a game changer in terms of just how much concern people should have regarding Josh re-offending and being a clear and present danger.

This proves how much TLC has stepped over a moral line. The Josh Duggar publicity has opened a floodgate of criticism against the network. Now maybe their viewers will think twice about watching any of the trash aired, including Kate.
Fox needs to explain WHY releasing that report was illegal. Because I have the same understanding, that a FOI request was filed, and properly granted.

Re: Megan Kelly...not surprising AT ALL. Many believe she is "tough and independent" but she works for Fox News and she will only go so far as Roger Ailes will let her. However, she is really putting her reputation on the line with this interview. If she goes soft on the Duggars and attempts to blame the "liberal media", she's done as a "respected" journalist. I didn't take that comment that literally. That's a pretty common expression, and usually means I'm flexible.
I thought he was saying it in the context of, if something opens up in Vegas or Atlantic City that's cool, or if it ends up more locally I'm all right with that too. It sounds like this job is more stable than ever, he's just not sure where it will meander itself. That is the nature of the entertainment business. Most people in that business play it by ear. Is it for me? Nope. But as long as you have it so the work is steady, you don't put all your eggs in one basket, and you have a solid backup plan should the phone stop ringing, I see nothing wrong with playing it by ear. Does Kate have that?

If something is illegal about the release, EXPLAIN IT. Otherwise, I think they're just parroting some rumor about it being illegal I remember hearing several days ago. It's just so unprofessional to say that if you don't know what you're talking about or can't explain why.

Pam, I was heartbroken to read your story as I can relate. It is difficult enough to deal with the fear, confusion and pain of being sexually assaulted. It is compounded a thousand fold when you are either dismissed, accused of being a liar or the very worst, blamed for it.
My heart goes out to you. And bless you for having the courage (and it does take courage) to stand up to your family and protect your daughter. That is the right thing to do.
I did the same thing and though there is a segment of my family that has never even met my daughter and I'm accused of being petty and dramatic (he would never do that to her - oh, just to me and my sister then?) I have never, ever regretted it.

I can't find any of these FB photos!! But while I don't think Jon is in the least cool (although he's trying !), he is a loving parent to these children and deserves custody way more than Kate does. I was initially unhappy that Jon put a picture of the kids on his FB page. But when I looked, it's his private page, not his professional page. You can see one picture because he made it part of his profile, and those photos are visible to anyone. Everything else on that FB page is hidden. The picture is just of four children having fun on the beach, writing in the sand. It's a dark photo and it's even hard to tell who's who. I had no idea who one of the girls was. Compare this to Kate putting children on the Today Show or taking them to TLC promotional events. Well, there's no comparison.

Absolutely. Kate may not say she playing it by ear but Kate LIVES playing it by ear. She is at the utter mercy of a precarious little cable TV network that could cancel her at any time. The next Celebrity Apprentice gig may never come along again. What is her PLAN?
I really don't care if someone makes that comment, as long as the reality is their work is steady and comes with a backup plan. DJing is not going away any time soon, and in fact is pretty trendy right now. If it ever does go away, there will always be weddings and bar mitzvahs, which plenty of good people make a living at and support children on.
