TLC announces Kate Plus 8 will return in December

TLC posted the following press release on their site:
You watched Kate Gosselin plan the sextuplets' 10th birthday bash in June (and have an epic meltdown) and now you can follow your favorite oversized family on their summer vacation and into the new school year. "Kate Plus Eight" will return to TLC in December with all-new episodes! This time around, Kate and her eight growing kids will travel to Boston and explore different parts of New England on a family vacation.
You'll also see the kids rounding out the final days of summer with fun activities, while Kate preps the household for another school year. Teenagers Cara and Mady start 8th grade, and the sextuplets you know and love -- Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel -- are beginning 4th grade. We can't wait to see the kids prepare for pencils, books and maybe even teachers' dirty looks, while balancing their time between friends and siblings. And you can be we'll see more classic Kate moments and funny banter from the outspoken kids.

I wonder how often Milo has to renew her own permit! Is there a coupon for that?

This is what is so fascinating about the whole Milo-Kate affair. She can't see that she perceives herself as the all-knowing, all-seeing confidant who has access to all things Kate and the kids, while at the same time she calls out others for doing what she does on a daily basis. Why can't they look at themselves? There is just no introspection there. It's a disconnect that I don't understand. The Lauren Sheep is exactly the same way. Is this taught in Sheeple 101?

Yes Alfie is Alfredococozza. The profile pic isZiggy's daughter. Ziggy is not the waif her profile pic insinuates. Ziglet reportedly has a few duis and a shoplifting under her belt.

I first heard the word Empath ages ago in a Star Trek (original series) episode. An Empath is someone who supposedly can scan someone else's thoughts and feelings and has the ability to absorb someone else's pain. By that definition, I guess this Twitterer will be giving Milo a run for her money in feeling poor TFW's pain.

I thought the woman with the red feathers in her hair was Ziggy. That's the one who reminded me of the online pictures of WalMart shoppers (men in thongs bending over, etc). One of my co-workers loves to email all the rest of us pictures like that. Hilarious! I'll be in my office working, trying to be all professional, and then I'll open up a picture from her of some 80-year-old in a crop top and belly button ring and totally lose it. Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The thing that really gets me about how far Milo takes it is she has said many times the kids do great in school. She states this as fact, not as her feelings, opinion, or her best guess.

There's no way she could possibly know this without seeing their report cards. I would hope Kate is not showing those to Milo, that would be incredibly inappropriate. Without seeing those nobody has the foggiest idea how they are doing in school. It's one thing to speculate one way or the other, it's quite another to state it as fact. In fact what we know suggests it makes more sense to speculate the opposite, with Mady herself saying she's really not into school that much or into being a student, and what's happened in the past, even though it was awhile ago. But indeed a couple of the kids having some issues so severe that they were out of school for at least a short while. Moreover Jon has said they've had some difficulties with their social development, and that can sometimes (not always) translate to lower grades. Add to all this what we've seen of the kids themselves--the juvenile statements Kate on twitter claims they make, their lack of maturity many of them display we've all seen, the remedial schoolwork she claims they do, their seemingly poor exposure to educational enriching activities, Kate's negativity and lack of support for educational trips like their nature hike field trip some time back, and some of their own statements on the show (i.e. not knowing the president) and you have plenty of information to SPECULATE, not state as fact, these kids might actually not be doing as well in school as Milo claims to know. Or maybe they are, we just don't know, but neither does Milo. And, how does Milo know Jon doesn't spend all his weekends with them trying to catch them up in school with a brief treat to go get pizza at the end of the day? How does she know the nanny doesn't spend all her time encouraging and helping them with school? How does she know they don't have tutors and other help? She has no clue what role Kate plays and who is helping with what. I doubt Kate does very much judging by how much time Kate spends on twitter during prime homework hours. I really dislike discounting all the other people who are involved in their lives and making an assumption that any good work they do in school must all be attributed to one person. Bullshit.

And finally, maybe a kid is doing well in school because he works hard at it HIMSELF. Geez, at some points kids do deserve a little credit for their own hard work and dedication. It would piss me off to no end if someone were giving all the credit for my good grades in school to my parents. My parents were very supportive of education but excuse me, I'm the one who diligently did all my school work and studying every day after school no questions asked. *I* did the work.

Kate's too dumb to realize she's the butt of the joke here.

Besides anyone who even loosely follows royal news knows it's been made pretty well known that William wants two children, and Kate wants three. William even said so. They both like their family growing up of two and three kids, respectively. I am not at all surprised she wants to knock this goal out quickly. She waited a long time for William to put a ring on it. In fact it's been reported they have been trying for this second baby, their last child or second to last if Kate gets her way, since Prince George was barely a few months old.

William and Kate aren't going to be shooting for or risking multiples, let alone HOM's.

Really, if William wants to put the breaks on after 2 babies, Kate should honor that, and not wear him down until he capitulates.

I used to really like Kate Middleton and to some extent I still do. But lately something feels off about her. I follow a royal blog run by a British woman who is very fair, and there's a lot of little things that don't sound right.

One of the biggest ones was how she and William went on a big vacation together to the Caribbean or some such. And didn't bring precious little George. Huh? I just don't understand that. I have no problem if you would like some beach time, romantic time, and meals just the two of you, but I don't understand why George can't come along and bring his nanny with him when you have your date nights. It is hard to imagine a parent being comfortable being so far away from their baby just so they can put their feet up and be pampered. What if he gets sick, or otherwise needs you?

And speaking of nannies, that little boy is with his nanny an AWFUL lot. This could be a cultural, upper crust thing. But I hope she isn't just knocking these kids out because this was just part of the deal of getting to marry a prince and live the rest of your life VIP. The two kids right away has a feel of "just get this part done with so I can go back to my nice life." I know she has her haters and I have to admit they've been saying she's conniving all along. I think time will tell.

Isn't 16 the minimum age for getting a learner's permit in PA? According to that tweet, Cara supposedly said she could get her permit at 15, and get her license when she's 16.

Kate should really double check things before she makes up things to tweet.

Of course, she really just tweeted that to remind everyone that the twins' birthday is a month from today.

I wouldn't worry too much about Prince George. His parents took a one week holiday; he was with his nanny and his maternal grandparents. Not so unusual for the upper crusty British, and that is what they are, upper crusty British. From what the world saw of their trip to Oz and NZ, they are a very connected family, and are very involved parents. And yes, their lives are quite different from most of ours. George looks like he is a pretty happy baby, quite attached to both Mum and Dad.

Yep I don't know where Kate's been but to even start the process of licensure in pa you must be at least 16. You can't get anything at 15. Maybe it used to be 15, it used to be when I was that age but times have changed and we know now such a young child is not ready and that more accidents happen at that age. In fact a 15 year old from ny who got into an accident in pa last week is being prosecuted for underage driving.

I can't imagine Cara hasn't heard she must be 16 not 15 to start the process. Dead giveaway Kate makes things up.

At least she doesn't leave it in a cage 24/7.

--------------------------------

A parrot should be outside the cage, on his own perch, or finger-perching. Human contact is important. There are birds, however, mostly cockatiels,,parakeets and love birds that actually prefer being in a cage where they feel comfortable and secure. I had a little rescue Caique who absolutely hated being out of his cage for more than a half hour. He'd find his way back inside the cage and close his own door. And he didn't sing in the cage, but boy, did he ever have a vocabulary that would make even a tough guy blush!

That said, a parrot should not, under any circumstances, be tucked in a shirt collar, nuzzled on the chest in a warm, full bosom (even if the owner is wearing a good bra) ride around on shoulders or heads or take a nap with his owner. It appears that Kate allows all of these things to happen.

In double checking PA's law when that didn't sound right to me, I saw that something like 42 states make kids wait until 16 now. I assume Washington is one of the 7 that are holding out on allowing it earlier. Like I said my old home state, which now forbids 15 year olds from driving period, did used to allow you to get a permit at 15 when I was a kid, but a licensed driver had to be in the car.

But Cara doesn't live in Washington, it's not my high school days anymore, and all kids do at this age is talk about getting their permit. I find it impossible to believe she is confused on this point. If she is, she is going to have an unpleasant surprise when she finally gets a clue she's not due to even BEGIN to drive for more than two more years, and even then the restricts will be strict. I think Kate made up the whole conversation and based it on Kate's own ignorance of the law.

I saw that. A lot of states have toyed with the idea. I would be all for it, but my biggest concern would be that at 18 you're about to head to college, with many kids going out of town. It concerns me those kids might not get very much practice with parents and other responsible adults before leaving home. You'd still have an unsafe driver on the road, just a slightly older one.

I saw something like PA requires 65 hours of practice time including 10 in bad weather. That's great. Driving sure is different than when I was learning, and that wasn't all that long ago. We've come a long way in a short time, hopefully it saves lives. But it's everyone's responsibility to stay current with what the law is, even if it's changing. Most kids that age would go above and beyond to know what it is, even if it recently changed.

If true, then why would Milo ask Kate how she would envision her?

I don't know who or what Milo is, other than that she is an enigma unto herself. The LOM has me puzzled. If it's true that it's not the orderly in a facility and really is her husband, why does he order her to bed? I've never heard of such a thing. What do they do in bed? No -- not that! I mean, if she's not tired, then what? I've never had a man order me to bed at a specific time every night, although there are a few out there for whom I would happily oblige.

I think the push is on about the twins getting a driver's license because then Kreider won't have to even get her lazy ass out of bed in the morning. The twins can make the drive to the bus stop. It's her fantasy, not theirs. (like everything else)

My kids didn't show any interest in driving until they were 17. All of their friends who jumped behind the wheel the day they turned 16 have been in accidents. One even hit a school bus. My son has been in 3 accidents with his friends, always as the passenger. Luckily, no serious injuries, but I think it gave him a healthy respect for the responsibility of driving.

If she even talked to other parents, you would be aware of the ages for learner's permits and such. This shows how isolated she is.

In my state, you get your permit at 15. They have changed the rules through all my children. My first child had to do 50 hours. Then they changed it to 100 hours. Now it is 50 hours but you must have your permit for 9 months to get all weather types in. A lot of the kids in our are try and get their license on their 16th bday.
Can you see all those kids actually getting their license? That is 130 hours for the twins and almost 400 hours for the rest of the kids. Since TFW acts like they never see their dad, is she going to sit next to them for all those hours? It's not like it is fun driving, it can be very stressful for certain people. I didn't mind it but my husband did a lot of the driving with them. Sunday morning drives on the expressways were common, less traffic to learn merging.

I am One of Eight said...

Also, would the kids be able to drive and leave the car at bus? Isn't it in a store parking lot? I am sure they can't leave it there all day. Our stores have towing signs posted if you leave your car parked too long. Unless they drive all the way to school, of course.

&&&

I didn't even think of that but you're right, that is a heck of a lot of hours to help six kids the same age get in. When you only have one or two kids the same age, you can just have them tag along and drive whenever you're going somewhere and the 65 hours will take care of themselves. Even a normal parent of six kids at once would have trouble figuring that one out.

No way will Kate have the patience for that. Poor kids.

"Big help eventually" - that's what Gladys says about C learning to
drive.

&&&&

I have never seen someone have such a blatantly skewed perception of who children are, what their needs and wants are, and what their role is or should be in the family. She really does just see them as there to serve Kate, prop her up, reflect well on her. They are not individuals or even people. There but for the grace of Kate go thee.

localyocul said...

I posted earlier that TFW has her facts wrong but it didn't go through. Yes, you can't get your learners permit until 16 and have to have a bunch of hours under your belt before you can get your license. Then the license is restricted with curfews, the number of underage passengers, etc.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

Yes indeedy, she also just gave the fans a subtle reminder that
birthday time is approaching. To paraphrase TFW, you want to
keep up with the mind of a grifter, you have to be running!

And, yes, I'm guessing TFW will be happy to make plenty of
Dad time for the kids on her calendar when it's time to log
driving hours. But she may be convinced to handle a lesson
or two - IF the cameras are rolling, and TLC pays for the
car insurance.

Bitchy Pants said...

Some states allow 15 1/2 year olds to get learners' permits so they can take Drivers' Ed. Is PA one of those states? AFAIK they can only drive while actually in class, though, and the school hangs on to their permit. I doubt that TFMJG would have one of the twins driving to the bus stop. That would mean leaving one of her vehicles parked there all day, because IF they do get their own wheels, I doubt the twins would want something large enough to hold all their little siblings.

localyocul said...

I don't know about their school, but at our high school drivers ed is now just a classroom. The IU offers a classroom/road class for $$ that my kid took. When I was in high school, it was offered as a class for free. Anyway, a lot of kids take this because it gives them the practice hours, you have someone who knows what they are doing to help them, and it gives a break on insurance.

Of course I was the one who took her out even before she took that course. We started out in a parking lot, then I took her to a corporate center on evenings/weekends so she could get a feel for driving on a road but there was no traffic, then took her on a real rood. It was a white knuckle experience. YIKES

With 3 drivers in the household, Kate will need more cars to choose from so she can save money!

No. No early exceptions in PA. Not for taking drivers ed and not for farming. You must be 16 to even start the process, no getting around it.

There may have been exceptions in the past, which is why I think Kate is making this all up because she's relying on what she knew of the past. She really is ignorant. You would think with eight kids behind the wheel soon she would take 2 minutes out of her day and go read the DMV web site, AAA, or even the PA Code. It's all online for any responsible parent to look at at their pleasure.

I live in NY and as far as I know, the age to get a learner's permit was always 16. My mother told me that I could not get my learner's permit until I was enrolled in Driver's Ed. Our high school offered it at that time, but I wasn't able to take it until I was a senior, because the classes always filled up. So I didn't get my learner's permit until I was 17. The good thing though was that once I passed my road test, I got my senior license.

I also had the same rule for my daughter. Unfortunately, when she was in high school, the course was no longer offered.

I know it cost $$, but it was money well spent. I hope that when the twins are old enough, Kate will enroll them in driver's ed. With her driving record, she should be the last one teaching anyone to drive.

When my son was in HS he enrolled in driver ed and then we paid for the extra behind the wheel course where a certified driver would take him out in the driver ed car for the required X numbre of hours and take him on the highway, etc. Once he got his permit we would take him out and practice on Post where there was no traffic and long flat roads and got his license without a problem. He learned on an automatic but for college we got a great deal on a little GMC Tracker which was standard. Now teaching him to drive standard the summer before he left for college was a white knuckle experience.

Anyone else keeping up with the Sons of Guns debacle? The dominos are really falling now. Will Hayden's oldest daughter, who had initially defended him, is now saying that he molested her too. Her husband posted a poem online that rips Will for what he did. There is also another woman who says he molested her when she was 12 years old.

The implication being thrown around now are that the daughter and her husband were initially trying to keep things quiet so they could keep the Discovery money rolling in. Will's attorney has gone so far as to say his daughter is jumping on the bandwagon now only because the income stream has stopped. I don't think he is innocent, but I also think the daughter is trying to profit from the situation while she can. She is not releasing any more statements at this time because she is going on Dr. Phil this week to tell her story.

Reality TV will make you sell your soul for the money. I think it is too bad that Robert's book didn't do more to get the kids out from filming and give Jon a more active role in their lives. I can only imagine the secrets that are still being kept in that house.

My word!...the "wizard of twitter" CC now has access 2Mady's mind!! I see a "bad moon arisin"...Don't U need a #permit 4that sort of thing?

"I wonder how often Milo has to renew her own permit! Is there a coupon for that?

This is what is so fascinating about the whole Milo-Kate affair. She can't see that she perceives herself as the all-knowing, all-seeing confidant who has access to all things Kate and the kids, while at the same time she calls out others for doing what she does on a daily basis."

******************************************

It is odd, isn't it? Milo constantly tweets about how happy the kids are, how they're thriving under Kate's care (ahem, control) and how well they are doing in school as if she's totally in the know.

Yet someone says the kids are unhappy, don't want to film etc and Milo jumps right in there with sarcastic quips about people having "access 2Mady's mind".

Give it up Milo. You have no more information than the rest of us. In fact, what's worse is that you blatantly ignore and/or skew known facts to suit your "defend Kate at all costs" agenda.

Milo is an enabler, plain and simple. For whatever reason, she/he/it identifies with Kate and justifies her abuse and exploitation of the Gosselin kids because it feeds her ego to do so.

Will Milo ever give it up? I doubt it. Even when those kids, and I'll put money on at least half of them doing so at some point, come out with their side of the story, Milo will still have Kate's back.

I've never really subscribed to the notion that Milo is actually Kate but there have been moments, especially lately that have left me wondering.

It's almost easier to believe that than the idea that someone could be so delusional and defend so fiercely a person they've never even met.

It seems that she agrees with the "old style" of parenting. The kids are the mother's burden, and the father just brings home the bacon. Which is why she vilifies Jon, because to "according to Milo", Kate is fulfilling both roles.

Going through the driver training experience with my son right now. He got his learner's permit before school got out last year, and California requires that he have three lessons from a certified driving instructor, plus 50 hours of driving before he can take the driving test. He also has to wait at least 6 months from the date he got his learner's permit. He's been doing the majority of the driving whenever we go somewhere, and I try to mix it up between the usual routes we drive every day, to some freeway driving, and some unfamiliar roads. We are also needing to do more night driving. I was white-knuckling it at first, but as he's gained experience, I feel more comfortable. Still, he did almost rear-end someone the other day and then got mad at me for freaking out!

You just reminded me of something I had long forgotten. We had drivers education in school. It was mandatory. Two of us and the instructor would go out driving for an hour or so. When it was my friend's turn at the wheel, I sat in the back and tried not to watch what she was doing. She was an airhead, and totally fearless behind the wheel. Everything was going fine until the session was almost finished and she pulled into the school parking lot, running over one of the parking lot barriers, up over the grass, down a hill, and into a fence. She was bawling and I was in shock. I think we were airborne. She kept saying, "Don't call my dad." He was a state trooper.

I never went out driving with her again...I requested another partner!

I think that Joan was good example of someone who requires constant admiration in order to have a sense of identity. She shares many characteristics with TFW, except that she had actual talent and a killer work ethic. She never took fame for granted, and knew that she had to earn it every day. The conversations with Melissa were really interesting, in that she really respected that her parents tried to give her a normal life. But, she said that "the career" was the primary focus of the family (her husband was a producer), and clearly has some issues with that. I don't know if you have seen it yet, but, I would love to hear your take on it.

Joan truly was a single mother and had to overcome the suicide of her husband very quickly in order to keep her career rolling forward.
She worked like crazy.
I got the impression that Joan had to keep working until her dying day, because her lifestyle was extravagant and she had quite a large staff to support.

Andy Cohen said that he loved having Joan on his show because she came prepared to carry her share of the show, not sit there like a lump like Kate and snatch a book from Andy's paws and sit there and read it in silence.
Andy looked at her like "wtf??????????". I remember Morgan Fairchild regaling Andy with plenty of stories from her career- she was quite engaging.
Then there was Kate, needing to have teeth pulled to get anything useful or remotely entertaining or interesting out of her.

What a dud she was on that show.

The car was disposed of as soon as the last license was signed & sealed.
