And she made the point perfectly. "NOT ONE PERSON" in a crowd of "thousands of fans...armed w/cell phones/cameras" bothered to take a picture of Kate or the twins, with or without Steve. Done, over, finished.

Thank you "Fired Up 4 Kate" for pointing this out so clearly to her. Maybe coming from you, her true friend, she'll finally get that it's over.

--------------

Never underestimate the stupidity of Gladys Kravitz. She shoots herself in the foot every single time. She tries so hard to convince Kate and her fans that Kate is still relevant and loved world-wide, but all she ends up doing is showing that the opposite is true. You'd think by now that she would have learned.

Guest what was on: CWS with Kate & 8, on Lifetime. I watched part of it, Kate is so full of sh1t. She stinks to high heaven. Couples should raise kids and share responsibilities equally, yeah Kate just like you did when you were married to Jon. Jon worked 8 + hours and came home and took care of kids, even though Kate had Nannies during the day to take care of kids. Yeah, that was equal responsibility. LOLOLOL

Kate is silent, cause she is probably meeting with the Irwins. Either the Irwins are at the house or Kate & 8 are in NYC. Pics soon to follow.

My father was a New York City Police Officer at the time, he was on duty during both appearances and was able to get us in. What memories!
I lived in Forest Hills and graduated from Forest Hills High School. Did you ever shop at Ronnies?

Long time poster- long time no post. (OG Kristine)

I adore the person, who asked if anyone ever saw Buddy Holly and the Crickets in concert. My mother grew up with 10 kids on a large farm in Minneapolis. She saved every penny to see her idol, Buddy on her 16th birthday and traveled to the event in Iowa with her high school pals, on that tragic day. She had no idea what news she would wake up to hear the next morning after she came home.
-----------------------------------------------------------
February 3rd, 1959: Within minutes of takeoff from the Mason City, IA Airport, at around 1:00 AM CST, the chartered Beech-Craft Bonanza airplane No. N3794N containing Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper crashes into the Iowa countryside, killing all three in addition to pilot Roger Peterson...

That was it. My mother's 16th birthday-- and very first concert. We are true Beatles/Elvis fans, so I can appreciate the Tennis venue story.

My first concert was here in L.A. It was Adam and the Ants, doing their Viva Le' Rock tour at the Greek Theatre. I was in the 6th grade and took a best friend and little sis and another BFFs brother, to pretend he was our personal Purse Boy. I've seen so many shows, and Nirvana Nevermind was incredible at the Forum. Depeche Mode about 100 times- sometimes a half dozen times a year.

**Waving to Shmecky**... Depeche Mode is still the BEST live concert, yet not my first.

So many of you have seen some pretty awesome concerts, you are so very lucky! I think geography matters, as where I grew up, there were rarely any big name groups. April Wine was in 1976, I was just about allowed to go, but then they cancelled. Even Perry Como would have been okay with me, I still have an old Christmas music cassette of his!
Goodnight all, have a great weekend, we are expecting temps above 0 all weekend, as long as the weather man is right.

1971 - Lexington, KY. Some famous band played. My first date on campus, freshman year. My date was as forgettable as the band. I think it was "Blood, Sweat and Tears". My date kept hollering "SPINNING WHEEL" while the warm up performer was on. Everything about that night was awful.

Everything but the warm up guy. Bill Withers. He was pretty good. A whole lot better than the featured band, I can tell you that. Too bad he got shouted off the stage by my date and others to make room for the Spinning Wheel guys.

I got a personal, in- the -car concert from Harry Chapin. I went with a friend to pick him up at an airport (no limo for him, an old, dented compact car was perfectly fine) and Harry played and sang for us between the bits of conversation. It was remarkable.

Jeanne said...

Localyocul, I guess your question was rhetorical. If not, you can't make the whole plane out of black box material because it would never fly. Way too heavy. They almost always get the black box back unless the water is too deep. There are also 2 black boxes, one for data and one for voice. The hope is at least one will be located and analyzed. However I do not remember if they got them back after 9/11 but that was a prolonged fire. In an explosion in the air the pieces come apart and it is less likely there is a prolonged fire for every element of the plane.

I do not mean to be ghoulish. It sounds like a terrible disaster and does not appear hopeful. It could be accidental or intentional. If it is intentional, this specific plane probably meant nothing. Often terrorists want to show they can do something, anything.

Jeanne said...

My first concert was Whitney Houston in Hershey when I was about 20. My parents would not take me to concerts and had no idea about popular music. I had little idea about popular music since I couldn't listen to any radio except one station until I was about 16. It was a serious disadvantage in junior high. But I wouldn't have wanted my mother with me at a concert anyway so I guess it worked out.

swingsandroundabouts said...

First concert was The Mothers of Invention with Frank Zappa. However I'm not sure it qualifies as a concert as it was in a coffee house called the New Penelope back in 1966. Large band, big sound, small venue in Montreal.

Best concerts were Bob Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue in 1975, Paul Simon's Graceland tour and Janis Joplin in 1970 all at the Montreal Forum.

Seriously? Oh, my gosh. Really? She actually saw Buddy at the Surf Ballroom during the Winter Dance Party tour? How special is that! If time travel were possible, I'd go back to that night to see that show with Buddy, Richie and the Big Bopper. I'd warn them not to get on the plane -- would hog-tie them down if I had to. It would be fascinating to see how the course of rock and roll would have evolved had that plane crash not happened.

I've never been to Clear Lake, Iowa, but it's on my bucket list to visit the venue on an anniversary of that last concert. Buddy was before my time, but what I would give to have been able to see one of his shows!

Speaking of plane crashes, news sources are still not confirming the fate of the Malaysia plane. No explosion is being reported, only that it's possible that it went down in the South China Sea.

I heard on the news that they said a American couple was on the Malaysia plane and a baby. They didn't make it clear if the baby was theirs or not. Lord, please be with them.

I remember when Pan Am 103 exploded over Ireland. They showed all the flowers at the crash site. There was some flowers there that had a card remembering a young girl that he sat next to on the plane. It said on the card that he was so sorry. The man had gotten off the plane to catch a different plane to go to London. The card was signed Love, Charles.

I have thought about that card all these years. When I hear about a plane crashing, I think about that card.

TLC stinks said...

Kate is not some big star that most people would recognize, so I agree with the poster that with the fan base at the concert, Kate and Steve just looked like any other couple. It just so happened someone who used to watch the show recognized the girls first and then Kate with her big mouth bitching at the girls gave herself away. I asked how come this person did not mention Steve and I guess someone tweeted her and described him. It must not been on this person's radar that Steve and Kate holding hands is a big deal after all her denials ( and I've never heard Steve deny anything).

I,too, remember years ago the rumor about Gina and Steve divorcing, but I don't think it was true. I don't even know if they are US citizens. And, the house is still in both their names as far as I can tell. Hell, I think he has not been faithful, but some wives put up with that crap or simply believe the husbands' denials. The guy is certainly considered by Kate more than an employee and part of the family (Uncle Steve). I mean, calling him Uncle Steve is a HUGH tipoff. It's a way to have the kids accept his participation in the family and frequent visits.

I am certain all will be revealed in the future. When a guy, who is not the husband, has a say so in how big a woman's fake breasts should be, it's more than a business relationship. Kate obviously wants to please him.

The only reason the whole relationship is fascinating to me has been her denials and Jon's intuition while he was married to Kate. There is an incredibly strong incentive to keep an inappropriate relationship under wraps because it would blow up her image. And Steve probably has no intention of marrying Kate even if his marriage to Gina is a sham. As long as a wife turns a blind eye, why not get a little on the side. It goes on all the time.

Just because Kate was a cold fish to a Jon does not mean she is like that with all men. If anything, she may have been promiscuous as a young woman.

You actually have to work and get something accomplished AND the money you earn goes to charity. She'd have to do it on her own, no kids, no purse boy. She would be eaten alive in the boardroom. Doesn't this rumor surface every year and nothing ever comes of it? I tend to thing that TFW's camp puts it out there hoping that someone in The Donald's camp will pick up on it and give her a call. Every year I still hope it's true though. Is she so narcissistic that she actually thinks she'd do we'll on the show? No work ethic, no creativity, no rich friends to tap in to for donations.....yes, I want to see her on the show.

I can see it now, TFW whispering w/him before speaking, sending him out to do tasks while she masterminds her next step, hiding in closets when she doesn't feel like appearing while he explains - yeah, she'd be a great choice.

I guess it all depends on how desperately Donald needs someone to exploit/ridicule for show controversy whether she'll be offered a spot and then how desperate she is for money that she'd put herself into a position to be made a fool of. That 2014 CA cast list is not the official list but what was tweeted in January, so legitimately Kate can start the rumor that she is being considered (after her agent called that Kate is available no doubt, LOL). Of course she has to get her name out there because Jon snagged a show. I doubt she would get on considering The Donald is well aware she offers nothing but more of the same. Back in a January she was not even being considered but I wonder if somebody dropped out and Kate has applied for the spot. That makes sense to me. Anyone know the date of their normal official announcement?

Sounds like Kate was ducking away from the tweeter trying to get a photo. The account sounds totally believable and the tweeter had witnesses. I don't see any reason for this person to lie about the hand holding. Wow! So close to photographic proof!

By sheep logic, since there is no pic of TFW holding hands with SN, it never happened. By that logic, she was never even at the concert since there are no pics of her. Yet TFW tweeted about it. I wonder how many of them have even a high school diploma.

I don't see CA ever happening for Kate. I'm sure The Donald would love another Omorosa like angle- the problem is the money. Kate has been Kate's charity since 2004. I'm sure she wants a DWTS salary. There's just no way she would do the show and give any money she generates to an actual charity. And ITA with Carole, how will she be able to go out in public and interact with other contestants with Steve attached to her hip? She's too much drama, too much baggage, too much trouble. Not worth the aggravation.

I guess since Gladys didn't get an answer from Kate about smoking, she wasn't going to ask about the hand holding rumor, or CA. If she and Kate are as close as two snugglebugs, she'd know about CA and she'd never, in a million years, be able to keep it a secret. Milo would have given hints (in code) on Twitter. She didn't even know that Kate was a concert. Milo is really slipping up on the job.

I hope Kate gets CA. And hope she lasts long enough to become project manager. Now that will be great tv. Watching her try & talk her way thru the boardroom when she has NO rich connections to call in. It would be epic!

In the end, CA is all about Celebrity connections & how much money you can convince them to donate in your name/honor. Money & connections do the talking on CA, nothing else does. I wanna watch her call in her "connections". does she have Bravo Andy on speed dial? no? does she know a T. Boone Pickens like Trace Adkins did? no? does she have all the folks from her show "network" to call on for donations? no?

EPIC tv!

Tucker's Mom said...

I wonder if Kate won't get picked for CA because she really has no celebrity pull when it comes to raising money.
Who is she going to ask for donations? The thousands of church-going Christians she fleeced for years?

The celebs on CA generally have enough good will built up so that they can call on wealthy friend and colleagues to pony up some serious cash.

Kate will also get a good deal of shite from cast mates if she's got Steve tagging along everywhere they go.
I can't see allowing him around- she'd have an unfair advantage.

One of the big aspects of being on CA is the ability to draw in big donors. A lot of the challenges involve calling up friends and contacts who have deep pockets and soliciting donations from them for your team. Who could Kate tap? She has no friends, and her only acquaintances would be her make-up person Deanna, and her twitter fans such as Milo. None of them have any significant money to donate.

However, I would love to see Kate on CA and am keeping my fingers crossed that it happens. It would be quite interesting to watch and see if she could make it past the first episode. Her boobyguard would not be allowed to attend with her and she'd have to interact with the other contestants (or not - imagine the unlimited opportunities for social awkwardness!).

However, there are so many other celebrities and recent Olympic sports stars out there to choose from, that I doubt Kate would even be considered. She's yesterday's news.

Tucker's Mom said...

There's talk regarding the downed 777 from China that 2 of the passengers had stolen passports.

Millicent said...

********************
I find it interesting also that some people will tear Jon down for dating what they consider a lot of women, or going out to bars and having some drinks and chatting up women, but don't seem bothered by Kate's relationship with Steve.

Jon is single. The women he has dated were all single at that time. Yet Kate began this twisted relationship with Steve while still married to Jon. While she is now divorced, Steve is still married. But somehow, that relationship gets ignored.

As I said, it's just interesting that dating while single gets much criticism, while Kate and her married "body guard" seem to get excused away.

Ha! TM, your suggestion reminded me of how I got to go to The Grass Roots concert. I was in 7th grade at a Catholic school when a new, young priest was assigned to the parish. All the school kids thought he was very cool. He drove a Volkswagen Beetle, so he decided to hold a contest to see who could cram more people into his car - the 7th grade boys or girls. The winning team would get a prize.

Well, the boys just all jumped in willy, nilly - arms and legs flying. They managed to get in about 20 guys. We girls, on the other hand, planned out how everyone would sit or lie down, and we were able to fit 32 people in! So we won the contest and Father Tom took us to the mini-concert and Phillies game. I remember there was also a hot-pants contest before the game, and one of my classmates was a runner up.

Wow. I haven't thought of that story in more than 40 years! I love this blog.

Prairie, my Trav name is Charlotte Morphay, I think someone else posted the same.

First concert,Elvis around 1955 with my mom and my older sis. Before we left I could not find my cat so all I wanted to do is get home and see my kitty. As soon as we got home and I went into the closet to put my shoes away, there was my baby all cuddled up in a nice cozy bed he made himself on top of a basket of clothes. My sis hated that cat so I still think she was the last one in the closet, lol. She will die laughing when I tell her I posted that here.

Other concerts, Kenny Rogers, Kool and the Gang and Capt and Tannell at Endymion Extravaganza (a Mardi Gras parade that rolls before Fat Tues and a huge event in New Orleans Superdome).
KC and the Sunshine in the Dome. New Orleans.
My favorite was Celine Dion in Vegas 2006, what a show she put on. Tickets ran over $200 but worth every penny. Went with nurse friends and when we went back in 2008 (we try to do Vegas every 2 years, we all worked together before Katrina and try to keep the Vegas thing as a mini reunion), Elton had replaced Celine but we didn't have advanced purchased tickets, bummer.

Does anyone have a Bucket Concert List?
I want to see ABBA Museum in Sweden, anyone been there?

The Beatles played in 1964 at City Park Stadium in New Orleans, I was in 10th grade and had a car but no money for tickets, so my friends and I went and sat in driveway by my aunts house and listened from there. Worked for us.

Typical Kate. She has to put it out there she's being eyed for CA EVERY season. Not a chance. And I do not want her mug on TV ever again.

This just a stunt to get her fans to write in their support to have her in the show, nothing more .

Millicent, the difference between Jon and Kate is Jon is open about his relationships but Kate and Steve have a lot to lose if they are caught. Nobody is glossing over anything. They just haven't been caught but the hand holding was sloppy. Who knows? There may very well be a tabloid hot on their tail as we speak.

A lot of people have affairs so the only reason I can come up with for keeping it so secret is that what is left of her fans will desert her as a home wrecker. She will be seen for what she is: a liar. Dating a married man is taboo. And who knows what facts come out about her being involved with Steve while married to Jon. It's a nasty can of worms.

You just made me recall when we went to Festival Express. We had been sitting in the middle of a football field 12 hours a day for 2 days baking, roasting, and finally burning in the hot sun, listening to all these great bands. When it was over we had picked up a couple of people needing a ride back to our town (hippie days were a blast). So nine of us piled into our friends tiny little 1969 Renault, our noses and foreheads smeared with Noxema for the three-hour drive home in the middle of the night, wriggling around, burnt, greasy, smelly and happier than pigs in a manure pile talking about the concert all the way home.

What a sight we must have been. At least the smell of the Noxema overpowered our BO. We had great times back then. I'd do it all over again.

The funny thing, it always seems to be the women who give Kate a pass, "she's got 8 kids to support!!" and they excuse her using her kids for money.
It's disgusting. All these women care about is Kate staying on tv, not the devastating possible side effects, which can be life long, btw, that the children will suffer.
It's really sickening.
They just gloss over these kids' lives being made public, being invaded and being born for the sake of entertainment.

I seem to remember that TFW actually tried to muss The Donald's hair when she met him at some event. She thought she was being cute but I don't think The Donald or his wife were too pleased. TFW would only last through the first boardroom if the woman's team won. Those women can be pretty nasty. I doubt that she'd be allowed to have Steve around for any of the tasks because the show just doesn't work that way. If the stars could have a lackey around to do the work some of them would have done a much better job. She would be the type to quit citing a "family emergency" (she has 8 kids dontchaknow) if it got too hard and The Donald hates those that quit.

I don't think these kids respect her or what she asks of them at all, this is but yet another example of them just not listening to her.

I am glad that they wouldn't say whatever it is she wanted them to say on the Today show, but if you think about it, it's just more disrespect for her. I think she asked them to say certain things on the Today show, and they wouldn't do it. Cara clearly went in there intending not to speak at all. It's defiance. In that case, it was a righteous defiance, but defiance is defiance and is a form of disrespect. Of course, she may deserve every bit of it. This is just a testament that authoritative parenting doesn't work. When kids get old enough to realize they don't have to listen to you and they're too big for you to beat up anymore, they may do exactly this, tell her go screw herself we'll do what we want. Without that respect there is no reason for a child their age to bother with her wishes for them.

We were all given a letter to come to the ABC studios for the cattle call interviews and we heard about a woman who was at the security gate with a older man with white hair screaming to get in for the cattle call! Many witnesses heard her scream, Don't you know who I am? Ask Tom B. Ask L. Ask Carrie Ann! Um huh, ah, Don't you know who I am? I can crush you with a lawsuit by speed dialing my high priced lawyers!!!

Obviously, kate didn't get the cattle call letter, just like the not a letter from Playboy offering her to pose in Playboy! hahaha So funny when HH issued a statement that he did not offer her to pose for PB! I think he was mortified! hahaha

My first concert was Dino, Desi and Billy. I can't remember the exact date, but it was in Atlantic City. I had a huge crush on Dean Martin's son Dino. My parents took me and a friend. We were lucky to get very close to the stage. Although my parents stayed in the back because of all the screaming. They may have had one hit song and they didn't last long, but I thought Dino was so good looking it didn't matter. Dean Martin Jr. (Dino) was married to Dorothy Hamill and then Olivia Hussy (Romeo and Juliet was a good movie in the day). He died so young in an unfortunate military death, helicopter or plane crash. Desi was Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's son. That was my first concert, the second was the Partridge Family. I have pictures sitting with some of them. I think they performed at my state fair. Unfortunately, these groups were not the Beatles, or the Doors, etc. Oh well, what can I say. I have attended some big name concerts after these.

NJ Gal mentioned Bruce Springsteen. I also saw him at the Stone Pony before he was famous and got to meet him. He also performed at my college before he became famous. My oldest son and his girlfriend met him at a bar in Belmar in 2012 and they said he was so nice, gave out autographs, free drinks, but he wouldn't allow anyone to take photos of him. There was some type of dedication to him in the town and that's why he was there.

I've been thinking about concerts I've been to, and there are quite a few! Some really stick in my memory:
Janis Joplin in Hawaii in 1970. My favorite woman singer of all time! She was one of a kind Texas girl. On the front page of the paper, there she was...running her mouth about people trying to get her to pose in front of the plane she'd flown in on, and she wasn't as stupid as they thought...no free advertising the airline for her!! That woman can sing! I was heartbroken when she died.

Chuck Berry in Hawaii, I think it was also 1970...He was the opening act for someone I can't for the life of me remember..some guy alone w/acoustic guitar. When Chuck's set was over, people kept screaming for Chuck. He did another song, then the 'main attraction' took the stage, with people still stomping and yelling for Chuck, ignoring the man trying to sing. When the loud speaker said that ''Chuck Berry has left the building'' so did the audience!!

Ike and Tina Turner also in Hawaii in the early 70s, I think 1971...She was fantastic! She never left the stage and never stopped moving.

Van Morrison in Austin at The Armadillo World Headquarters in the 70s. I was about 7 feet from him and never took my eyes off him. My friends kept poking me and telling me to ''Take a breath!''

There are SO many: Ray Charles, The Temptations, Bob Seger, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Delbert McClintion, Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Reed, BB King, Sly and the Family Stone, Willie Nelson, The Eagles, Buddy Guy. I took my girls to Three Dog Night in San Antonio (they were 10 and 8), and a friend took them to see The Osmonds in Hawaii, and also to see Elvis there (I refused to see 'fat Elvis') I'm sure as I hit publish, I will remember more!

Ever think, Milo, that she might be taking a twitter break from pestering, annoying fans? I wonder how many times a day Milo DMs or e-mails Kate, wondering where she is and what she is up to.

"My first concert was Dino, Desi and Billy. I can't remember the exact date, but it was in Atlantic City. I had a huge crush on Dean Martin's son Dino. My parents took me and a friend. We were lucky to get very close to the stage. Although my parents stayed in the back because of all the screaming. They may have had one hit song and they didn't last long, but I thought Dino was so good looking it didn't matter."

)))))))))))))

Dino, Desi and Billy had approximately 20 singles and five or six albums. Billy is Billy HInsche, a heck of a nice guy, who was a session musician with the Beach Boys, and later toured with them. His sister, Annie, was married to Carl Wilson, one of the three Wilson (Beach Boys) brothers. Not long ago, one of his projects was putting together a documentary on Dennis Wilson, late Beach Boys drummer. He's still very much involved in the entertainment industry.

You're right -- Dino was a charmer! :-)

Loving the flashbacks on first concerts. My first was at the Ohio State Fair, Dolly Parton! We were there that day and my parents loved her so we went! Was a USAF brat and we were stationed at Rickenbacker AFB.

My first choice concert was Supertramp at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto too. Saw someone else mentioned Exhibition Stadium and wondered if they ever went to any of the Police Picnics there? We went one year when James Brown was performing LOL it was, ummm, different that day, it was just an odd combo!

Many hated Exhibition Stadium, but I loved it for concerts; Supertramp, Styx, U2, Police, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Elton John, ahhhh my teenage and young adult years!

One of the best concerts I have seen in recent years has been Paul Anka's show. If you get a chance, you don't want to miss that one. He's really *that* good.

I'm glad we got to Glen Campbell's Goodbye Tour last year. He struggled some, but managed to get through the show without too much difficulty...his children were there helping him out on stage. Daughter Ashley is quite talented on the banjo.

Upstater & Sandylove: That Osmond show from 1971, parts of it are on youtube. Donny singing Sweet & innocent, Yo-yo. Have you guys seen it? They also have some from a Japanese tour that was prior to the US tour, in 1971, it's audio only, but there is some from the Ohio state fair from 72or 73, this is just before Donny's voice changed, I think it was the last time he sang sweet & innocent. Just look up Sweet & Innocent: Donny Osmonds live on Youtube.

Fidosmommy, Harry Chapin! Damn I'm jellus. Every single time I hear one of his or Jim Croce's songs I tear up. Just get the kleenex out cause I'm done for.

Okay, I was seriously late to the concert scene. I'm just glad that I didn't wait so long as to need a walker. Adele, Riviera, Chicago, May 24, 2011. Amazing, truly that's the only way I can describe her live performances. It was close to my hubby's bday and he wanted to treat me. He'd never heard of her and could not believe her vocal talent. Though when she stopped singing and was just talking, I had to play interpreter ;) I love me some Adele.

I haven't even looked closely at the crash. I just can't especially when I've got a transatlantic coming up. I think I heard three fake passports were used and I don't know how in this day and age that can happen but god bless those poor souls.

n the end, CA is all about Celebrity connections & how much money you can convince them to donate in your name/honor. Money & connections do the talking on CA, nothing else does. I wanna watch her call in her "connections". does she have Bravo Andy on speed dial? no? does she know a T. Boone Pickens like Trace Adkins did? no? does she have all the folks from her show "network" to call on for donations? no?
******
For this reason alone, she would never make the final cut to become a contestant. She has no celeb connections, nor big money connections, and the producers would not bother with Kate - she's slim pickins'

Also, if she did dare to touch The Donald's hair - she'd never make the cut for that reason alone. Not sure if that story is true or not.

====

She might have started out with good intentions but when the money really started to come in and she got all the attention and so-called perks that come with fame, the sanctity of family got pushed further down the line. She had no respect for any of them, husband, children, parents or anyone.

I think Mady and Cara were very aware of it too early in the game. It was really apparent when Kate was having a meltdown at the Crayola factory. Cara said she wished it was just the four of them again. It was so sad. She knew what was going down, if not consciously, then just by all the big changes in her life. She's old enough now to figure it all out, as is Mady.

Like Chef said...Kate's got it coming.

If only we could have looked into the future and would have seen how truly great those times really were. We might have appreciated every minute of those Noxema, sunburned days.

====

Yes indeed, youth is fleeting. We took it for granted. I think every generation owns its own amber moments frozen in time. I remember my parents reflecting on their younger days and always talking about the good ol' days, even if I rolled my eyes and thought no way those were good times, but they were for them.

Good grief. I'm getting all 'sedimental' now.

Do they even make Noxema anymore?

So nine of us piled into our friends tiny little 1969 Renault, our noses and foreheads smeared with Noxema for the three-hour drive home in the middle of the night, wriggling around, burnt, greasy, smelly and happier than pigs in a manure pile talking about the concert all the way home.
__________________________

Auntie, what a wonderful memory! And you are right. When you're young, squishing 9 smelly people into a tiny car for a 3-hour ride is nothing but joyful. We didn't worry about pesky details like health and comfort and safety back then because we were invincible! I can't imagine doing many things like that at my age now. It would be misery! As I get older and more worn out, I just want to be as comfortable as possible!

Rhythm, I think the reason our younger days were so, so great is because we were so blissfully unaware that those times would end. We didn't have a care in the world. We lived in the moment and enjoyed our experiences without worrying about consequences! I would love to feel that way again for just a moment. Oh how youth is wasted on the young!!

Grandee4, so glad to be part of a family! Wonder who the 3rd Morphay is here.
Congrats on little nephew Milo, Mel, a precious little bundle to cuddle!
I would love to watch tfw squirm on CA, it would be such great snark material, possibly more so than DWTS, would love to see her with her stink-eye in every conversation. I went to read over at Celebitchy, every single picture of her has the stink-eye, she does it so well. And there was a clip shown on one of the entertainment news shows, when she met Donald and Melania, and she did so reach out to tousle his hair! The both of the Trumps gave her a look that she should not have invaded their personal space, it was priceless, especially Mrs. Trump`s look!
If all of these dumb sheeple continue asking for her to write a book about the way she runs her household, what the hell would they do if there was no tfw, just curl up and die when they could not figure it out on their own.
If they want the 8 on t.v., see no problem with it, then why aren't they trying to put THEIR kids on t.v., and posters of their kids faces everywhere, so all pedophiles can view them.(ugh, lost my question mark!) If it is okay for the gosselin kids, why don't they do it with their own kids. Pay for ads in their local papers, put their kids faces in there! It makes me sick that they think these kids NEED to be on a t.v. screen, why! And laughing about Aaden and the cupcake, how does tfw feel to hear someone laughing about her son`s crying. I just can't figure those people out. They just seem to get stupider every day.
Admin., I am proud to say that when my daughter did interviews, and had speeches to give, she did every single word herself, her dad and I never, ever told her what to say, and she also wrote her own speeches. Even though she was only 7 and 8, she knew what SHE wanted to say, with her thoughts and feelings, I would sit beside her, and not once did I ever need to tell her to `Say it, it`s your chance, spit it out!` Because her words came from her heart when she spoke, it was her deal, not mine, I was there to be her parent and provide safety and support. Shoot, guess I should have hired a bodyguard! Sorry, but I get very passionate about things pertaining to children. The only reason I brag about my daughter is because she is no longer living, I would never say things like this if she was still alive.
And milo, you dipshit, why do you keep tweeting, it was you who said that you communicate with her thru other ways, not just twitter. You are a liar, just like your school girl-ISH crush!
Done now:)

I know this is off topic but, my husband and I drove by Katie's house Saturday morning for the first time. My husband had an interview in MD, so we went north and drove by. It is secluded and huge. You can barely see up the driveway, but you can see the side of the house. There are signs all over saying do not stop, no waiting, no pictures, etc, so my husband followed the law and would barely slow down. She is very close to a police station, I would say 5 minutes. The road is extremely narrow and winding and the next driveway after hers on the opposite side of the road has signs all over saying do not turn around in my driveway, so I assume alot of people have done that. I recognized the side view of the house immediately. No sign of anyone there. I was hoping to see someone coming or going, but like I said my husband would barely slow down. I did get some pictures though.

---------------------------
Actually, authoritative parenting is recommended. It's authoritarian parenting that is bad news. If you read about the four major parenting styles: authoritative, authoritarian, permissive and uninvolved, it's clear Kate practices authoritarian.

More interesting is some of the issues caused by authoritarian parenting are the exact things Jon said the kids struggle with on Oprah. I know Jon stated that he felt being on TV gave the kids those issues, but based on articles on authoritarian parenting, Kate's parenting style is at least as much at fault if not much, much more.

I went back & looked at past CA winners, they are HUGE names with $$ connections, not all are loved by all but defiantly have the 'friends in high places' connection:

**Piers Morgan - Not loved by all but loved by liberal Hollywood and DC, he took Larry King's place for goodness sake!

**Joan Rivers - Again, not loved by all but have tons of her own money and has the connections. Even when shot down by Johnny Carson, built herself into a multi-million dollar brand and has obvious staying power.

**Bret Michaels - Handsome, charming, smart, knows how to sell himself and knows what the pulse of America is all wanting (was great at advertising). Everyone loves him, heck, even my 76 year old mom loves him.

**John Rich - Although maybe not a household name, if you know anything about the music industry, you know John Rich. VERY smart and very well connected.

**Arsenio Hall - I can't really speak of him b/c I didn't watch this season but I know he's been in show business a long time and has rebuilt himself after a fall.

**Trace Adkins - This man amazed me both times he was on. SO smart, has an awesome 'poker' face but you could tell his heart was so in it for his charity and has the Nashville $$ connection.

That being said, if KG got CA, I'd watch because it would be good TV but I'm not sure how long she'd last b/c she has no fundraising experience. Other than a local yard-sale, showing up at the Zumba fundraiser (and accepting freebies) and whatever TLC paid her to do (which is NOT charity).

On the other hand, she is a beggar in real life, lol. But free bella bars & toilet paper isn't going to cut it in Donald's boardroom, so she wouldn't last too long! But the kids won't be involved so if it's a way for her to make some money and a fool out of herself, I'm game.

Don't you just love these sheeple? Let's see...Kate "stopped" because she was just tired of the whole "fame" thing. She wanted to be out of the limelight, back to being a "normal" mom, wanting her kids to have privacy and enjoy their childhood. She violated her contract with TLC because she wanted to put her children first, and even though the ratings were at an all-time high, she just pulled the plug on filming.

We see these comments over and over. Are there really this many people out there that ignorant about how T.V. works? The talent, and I use that term loosely, has absolutely nothing, whatsoever, to do with whether a show goes on the air, goes off the air, or how long it stays on the air. Sometimes the talent is not even TOLD a show is on or off the air. Kate is not a TLC executive, she is just another one of their long list of "talent" that they can throw on or off T.V. whenever they darn please.

Do they not understand the concept of "the powers that be" who control such things?

This is a very old tweet from Kate, I forgot what she was replying to, but it kind of speaks to her delusion. IIRC, she wrote an entire blog post about how moms should support each other. I guess what she really meant is that moms were supposed to support HER.

She has a lot of nerve to make that snarky and condecending comment when in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. She has hired housecleaners and nannies, in addition to the mile long list of chores the kids are responsible for doing. The nannies are responsible for doing the bulk of the grocery shopping. Most mothers work full time jobs, grocery shop, cook and clean, run children to activities and practices and attend the activities and games. Kate sits on her butt all day, twitting and surely working the phones trying to get back on tv.

It's not the "haters" who are preventing Kate from getting tv work - it's Kate herself. There is no way she'd even be considered for CA. Trump, like an elephant, will never forget that she dared to touch The Hair! I have a feeling that whoever is the current Mrs. Trump doesn't even get to touch The Hair.

If TFW appears on the next Celebrity Apprentice, they are surely picking the bottom of the barrel for contestants. Their ratings have been down and I predict TFW will not last very long. I wonder what her charity will be? She's not dedicated to anything that doesn't involve money coming her way. She'll probably make up her own charity that will primarily go to her if she's cast on the show. It is curious that Radar just had the story yesterday of her holding hands with Steve and now she may be participating as a contestant on CA. I'll believe this when I see it.

+++++++++++++++

That's been one of Kate's problems all along. She can't see the "what if," and just blurts out whatever she feels like saying at the moment. I don't know if it's because there's something in her brain that's not wired correctly, if it's because she's so immature emotionally (and intellectually challenged) or if she just doesn't care what she says and figures "you started it, and I'm giving it right back to you."

Maybe it's all of the above.

Classic responses include the juvenile "have a nice day ". I also find her an unlikely choice for CA given her lack of contacts, her lack of $$$ and the fact she doesn't work for any charity that does not have her name on it. Add in the fact that she is completely inarticulate without a script, and the knowledge that she comes with diva demands, whatever would they do with her.

I never went to any of the Police picnics at Exhibition Stadium (wasn't really into them) but lots of my friends did. I really liked going to concerts at the Ex. It was so much fun going to the CNE all day and then hitting a concert at night. I think it was the atmoshphere. You could see the ferris wheels and roller coasters still going while the concert was on. It was nothing but fun.

That's where I saw the majority of my concerts growing up and into my 20's. I saw Duran Duran, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Van Morrison, Elton John, Billy Joel, David Bowie, Wham, Pointer Sisters, Eagles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Kim Mitchell (Max Webster), David Lee Roth, Santana, Steve Miller Band, ELO, Chicago. There were a bunch of 'smaller' bands as well. Wow-once I start thinking about it, it seems like all I did was go to concerts. Back then though concerts were nowhere near the prices they are today. You could actually go a concert, buy a black T-shirt and still afford the Go train ride home.

The last concert I saw a couple of years ago was my idol David Cassidy. As smarmy as it was, I loved every minute of it. Silly sidenote-The family that now resides in my old house in Toronto are called the Partridges.

I believe that in TCFW's mind, she multiplies everything she does times eight. For example, when she drives the kids to the bus stop, in her mind it is not one drive, but eight drives! No wonder she is so exhausted-ish!! !!!!!!

When TCFW floats the rumor that she is being considered for CA, it never occurs to her that when it does NOT happen she will be seen as once again failing to get herself on TV. Once again, she has exposed herself as the lying liar who lies. As has been said on this blog over and over for years, she can blame everyone else till the cows come home, but she and she alone is responsible for her failures. TCFW is just flat stuck on stupid.

It would be such negative publicity but people do seem to like watching the trainwreck, Kate Gosselin. It doesn't matter if she doesn't have a charity, she could figure one out pretty quick. She would see this as rebuilding her image to one of benevolence now. Giving back, instead of taking. Rich friends to donate to her charity? There is Deanna, Jason, Ted, Jamie, Steve, Terri, Bindi, Defective Detective (always makes me laugh, that name...) Sweetbren, AustinMartin, Paige, Footsniffer, who did I miss. Oh Gladys. Yup. I smell a new TV gig on the horizon.

Paper Plates - 99% of those friends that you mentioned are far from rich and TFW would not be able to raise any kind of significant money. Wy would the rumor worry you? I think you're giving her more credit than she deserves. Wy would she be a ratings boos over two years after her show was cancelled. When she was on DWTS she still had TLC backing her. What/who does she have now? There are only a small group of people that still follow what's going on with her...the twitter fans, the twitter non-fans and us. The twitter bots can't watch TV they can only retweet what they've been programmed to retweet and they're out in force today retweeting TFW's tweet about hating losing an hour in the morning. Whether she's on or not I'll watch the show because it's a not so secret vice of mine. It would just make it sweeter to have her on bad see her get bitched out by everyone. After seeing some of the reports coming out of DWTS I really don't think she'd be able to function at all in the CA environment. You have to face it, it's everyone for himself on CA. Lisa Lampanalli said it was one of the most stressful things that she's ever done and that you work 20 hours a day six days a week. So TFW on CA? Bring it on.

I hear you! Ratings, etc. but I am thinking this is NOT going to happen. Probably her PR person putting out interest, in light of someone cancelled.(See Twitter right now.)

I have always had mixed feeling on Kate appearing alone without the kids because I think she is one of the most phoniest, inappropriate people and continues to use her kids non-stop on twitter/blogs,kids), but after putting her teens on TV, and wanting them to recite her "material," , it is fairly clear, she is a clearly a has been.

I honestly do not think she will get a spot on CA, after her antics with DWTS. On the other hand, she may be ratings bonanza, because she is "out of her element." has no charities (always about Kate needing something), now that TLC is no longer on board.

My guess is she will use Red Cross to try to get on the show, but to my knowledge, she never committed a penny to that or any organization. She put her freebee kids close in a consignment shop, time and again.

As such, have no idea how she would ever "raise funds" for charity, as she has continued to make herself the one "in need of funds." It is all about Kate keeping her mug out there, no matter what.

I don't think CA is for Kate...Just found out celebritys only get 16,000 for the first three weeks. I don't think it would be worth it to her unless shes pretty desperate. After taxes maybe shes good for another month of living expenses. I was shocked how little they get. possibly that's why she never said yes to doing it. She wants to make a killing you know. But she will get more exposure....like she needs it...but really not a big money maker....beggars cant be chosers

Taylor's. Oh, to be there right now for Boardwalk Fries, Mancos pizza and Johnson's caramel popcorn.

Absolutely Taylor Pork Roll! And a day on the boardwalk would not be complete without a Kohr's frozen custard (chocolate for me), a molasses or peanut butter paddle, and some salt water taffy!

A little late to the party but my first concert was in the summer of 1981 at the Yale Bowl, New Haven, CT, with my boyfriend (now husband) and one of his childhood buddies, to see the Eagles and a bunch of other groups. However, neither myself nor my husband, can remember any of the other groups.

I can't see TCFW on CA at this time. Maybe back in '09 when she had the support of TLC, the general public and had friends like the ladies at The View, The Today Show and People magazine. I would've thought if Donald Trump wanted TCFW, the Donald would've made the request back then. Can't see it happening now. I'm hoping she's been blacklisted because of her actions with the twins and The Today Show interview.

Completely OT but I'm going to teach myself how to quilt and I need advice from anyone out there. I figured since this blog topic has been mostly Kate being on CA (never gonna happen), first concerts that we attended, poop in the potty, Kate's bodyguard/boyfriend and penis size (I just threw that one in) I thought I would ask for some guidance. I know you're out there. HELP!

Ok, maybe worried was the wrong word to use. I am disgusted thinking about this wanker getting on TV again. She is relentless and no doubt cooking up something.....there will always be Kate updates until the day she dies. That was a joke BTW saying that her 'friends' would come up with the cash. LOL.

I am not a quilter but adore quilts! I admire your ambition. In my area the rec center offers a group ( no instruction) where people who quilt have a space and the tools (?) to do so and offer each other advice and help beginners. Maybe there is something like that in your area? Or a Quilters Association lol? I just was reading about this last night in the local flyer and thought it was a good idea. Not much help, but good luck!

IF TFW does appear on Celebrity Apprentice, it wouldn't surprise me if she first sets up a foundation in her name which foundatin would then "support" the charity of her choice (i.e. St. Jude's, Red Cross or whatever). The foundation would be her's to "administer" for remuneration of course.

Paper Plates - I realize that you were being sarcastic about TFW's monied friends, but I thought I'd point out to the fans that read here that she doesn't have any....monied friends that is that would step up to the plate with $10K checks!

Funnier 'n fiction: A group of strangers knocked on my door just now. A friendly-looking bunch, with big smiles & armloads of snack items and beer.

"Is Stephanie here?" a gentleman asked, when I opened the door. Um, no.

Apparently Stephanie lives much closer to me than the rest of you. That, or she moved out of her old neighborhood & gave my contact information as her forwarding address. :)

Were you aware already that Jon formed his own Jon Gosselin Children's Foundation, back in 2009? It's referenced in many online articles...here's one:
