Kate on Hallmark's 'Home & Family'

Kate's popped up in listings both Friday and Monday. Check local listings.

P.S. that owl cheese ball is pretty darn adorable.

Oh my...those bagels look disgusting! Those poor kids had to choke those half-burnt, big ol' dry hunks of bread with all those poppy seeds on them. I hope she gave them some extra 'organic' milk to help wash them down.

Gag.

I guess, Kate missed the Brady Bunch episode, in reruns, of Cindy the Tattle tale. Inspector Gadget is so wrong on many levels, so is the let them fight it out, among themselves. Very poor lazy parenting. Both ways, besides what everyone here has posted causes, there is also, will cause rage/disrespect among, the kids. Enough( and I hope this never happens), for one kid to stab the other in rage over a toy, video game, food or just tattle taling. It happens all the time, people who had never been give the correct way of dealing with conflict, disagreements, arguments over material things or people, will resort to violence. And Kate is mustarding this in those kids. Jon is very correct and true to what he said about his kids, not understanding right from wrong or morals, cause kate is not teaching them. Every one wants peach in there house, they also want their kids to get along with one another and support one another. Not fight or tattle-tale on each other. Jon does have his hands full with his kids.

Cristina seems like a genuinely nice person, very soft-spoken. Only Kate Gosselin has the ability to do that to people. She could drive Mother Teresa, bless her soul, to drink the whole bottle of sacrificial wine in one gulp.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I don't know if anyone remembers this, but Home & Family was a show in the mid 90s too, on Family Channel I think. Cristina hosted with another guy and Woody Frazer produced it.

Cristina's circle of friends were on the show a lot at that time, which included pre Kardashian Kraze Kris and Bruce Jenner, Cindy Garvey, Tony Sirigusa and Kym Douglas. At the time, Kym was the entertainment/gossip correspondent. When Kym was about 7.5 months pregnant with her son, she ate some feta cheese that was later found to have listeria. Very dangerous for pregnant ladies. She went into labor and delivered, after a rough start her son was ok.

Cristina always seemed very real and unpretentious to me. Salt of the earth. But very protective of her children. I can't see her allowing TFW on her set after TFW bascially admitted that she encourages her kids to rat on and turn on each other.

I agree with everyone else that if TFW got a two day gig on this show, this was some kind of audition of sorts. It sound like she was her usual stick- in -butt unpleasant self. She wants a show. Someone take pity on me, I need a show. I have to have a show. I can only support my kids by being on TV. Being on TV is ideal for me. Ok,,,,,,,, she gets on a show and proceeds to be the turd in the punchbowl. Le sigh.

Oh, but Kate's so clever!! She thinks the kids will be paranoid about being ratted on and do the jobs right.
Here's a scenario for Kate- Inspector Gadget rats on a sibling, then gets a nurple.

You know the kids are going to bring their tattle tale mentality to school too.

____

Well I'm guessing since she said she doesn't get to control what's go on in his house. That might be the reason but I'm just guessing.

getofftwitter said...

Just saw the interview part. Inspector Gadget? Boy, Kate is one hypocrite. She doesn't like anyone pointing out her faults, her lies, her BS, criticizing her, she calls them bullies, but makes bullies of her own kids, by having them point out to their sibs, faults, lies, criticizing their chores. She is a tool!

Mel said...

If the kids were thinking, they as a group could start bribing the person delegated Inspector Gadget. Thus forcing TFW to have to up the ante to get the Gadget kid to tattle.

They could get quite the racket going, eh?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I believe that WOS deeply resents that the father of her children has one moment without her with his children. When Jon's children are with him, TFW has ZERO control over either Jon or his children. For WOS, control is everything. Everything!
When his children are with him, they are reminded of what it means to be ''normal''. Normal as in not many rules, able to eat all they want, freedom to be outside the gates, being around people other than siblings and an oppressive parent....the list could go on and on. Everything on the list (and anything anyone else could add) are negative to TFW, because they are things she will not allow!
Just watched the clips, and that little Jack is amazing! Seriously, how can TFW watch him and not be embarrassed? He left her in the dust. Of course, she is so lacking in self-awareness (thank you, Carrie Ann, for putting that out thee. We always knew, and you put our thoughts out there to the world) that she probably didn't see it. Did you notice how reluctant she was to actually eat her shepherd's pie? Did she think she'd blow up like a balloon if she took a bite of real food?
Jack did a real-deal demo from start to finish and his demo was loaded with information.
If Kate wasn't threatened by a boy, she'd take to Twitter and congratulate Jack and promote his book. She only likes kids she can beat in games, or brow beat in a battle of wills like she did with a 3-year old Hank.
Even if I never heard what anyone else thinks I don't like this woman based on her own words alone.
How tragic it is that such young children are not recognized for all the good that they did and can do and their strengths and talents. Instead all the focus is on all their weaknesses and f ups. I feel so bad for them.
lil chef rocked said...
The young chef was amazing. He was able to cook and explain clearly, he gave little tips and was very comfortable with the camera and working on the spot. I like that he seems practiced with what he did, and it came across as confidence.
The Kate interview was just sad. They have been divorced for years and it seems she is stuck somewhere in the past. She sounds lonely, not spouse lonely, but friends and gal pal lonely.
A letter needs to be written and copied to the two hosts and Woody about how Ashley and Jamie talked about her during the RV trip. In fact, Ashley left. This bullshit how she loves to challenge ALL that meet her that she is fucking wonderful is bullshit. Also a copy of that letter from that host who had tons of unflattering of things to say about her. ANd that letter from her neighbor man who had things to say about her. ANd they need to know she is not in touch with her family or barely. I can't stand her.
And did she throw Jon under the bus or not. Yes or no. I thought she did we several "subtle" comments. And that male hose is disgusting. He must have a crush on her or something. He was praise the hell out of her.
If she is so wonderful and loved how come she hasn't gotten her own show in the past 2 years? How come Twist of Kate never came to be? Excuse me, but just watching her and their reactions pisses me off big time.
Most parents can shut up about their kids and what they're good at. Sports, Scouts, Music etc...
Kate spends 90% of the time talking about memememememe and the kids get dissed as not doing their chores right. Yup, that's all she's got folks, the kids doing chores.
There were two clips on the website:
2. a young child who has had leukemia 3 times and used cooking as a way to entertain himself during his illness.
Which interview had the soft voices and gentle questioning.
Which interview was all upbeat and fun.
Any letters written to them needs to include facts...from other people. Just general "she uses her kids" doesn't tell them anything. And her lies about how she needs money when FACTS prove she is a liar. Sorry, for writing again, no wonder Robert gets so upset over her with all that he knows.
Lets ask Tony Dovaloti, Johnny (the ice-skater), Beth Carson, Anderson Cooper, Steve Thomas (Going Green eppy), Eric Roberts, the sky-jump guy, any of the numerous nurses she employed when the tups were babies and Em Tanner what they think. Doesn't sound like 100% of the people!
Also, the women who were getting the pilot with Paula Deen, the surfer boys, she was so rude to them, the man in the door that she gave the bad look to in her hometown.
You have that right. What purpose would it serve other than to throw sympathy Kate's way, showing that she's right about being bullied? I really doubt that any of them would care one way or the other how Kate acted on an RV trip, or that she works her kids to death with chores. It does take time to crawl out of the rabbit hole after watching TFW doesn't it? It's like some weird loop, softball interviewer questions followed by inane answers, happily accepted, despite the many people she has scorched publicly. What would it have taken on this Hallmark show for either one of the hosts to say something like this; "although many of your detractors have never met you, we learned through your own shows that you have no relationship with many members of your own family, can you tell us why?" It's not as if this is TOP SECRET, so why does no one ever ask her the very obvious, slightly tougher, follow-up question?
Whoever said up thread that these interviewers are enablers is absolutely right!
I agree with the NO-letters idea. nobody needs to show any undue interest in her. She is invited on these shows and written about because she draws a reaction. Any attention, especially for a relatively obscure show as this one, is probably considered good interest. Now people know that the show exists. The less people comment on articles written about her, or contact shows she appears on, the better. No interest equals no opportunities for TFW. I think Coupon Cabin and The Stir hired her just to get a reaction from the public and raise awareness that they exist. Once that was done, they let her go.
I didn't watch but saw a commercial. It is very sad. I hope he does find sobriety, but there's no way doing Dr. Phil brought him any closer to that.
A friend of mine is an alcoholic (currently in recovery thank God). When I met her, she was still in the stage where she could function and no one had any idea she was alcoholic. She would occasionally go out with the rest of the office after work for a drink, but would half the time just have a Coke and then go home.
But alcoholics can't hold onto that forever, and after a death in the family, she went off the deep end. I had no idea, so I was so surprised when she went into rehab. On her 2nd rehab attempt, she went to a halfway house in my town. She relapsed and they kicked her out, so I let her stay at my place, completely unaware of what real alcoholism is like. I saw her swig down a half bottle of straight vodka in one go. This was not my friend - it was like having some stranger in your home, and you have no idea what they are going to do next.
After that, she left and I had no idea where she was - probably wandering the streets looking for booze. It's so sad.
Then her family found her, put her in a 3rd rehab and we lost touch. I had already gone through dealing with addiction of my ex, and I had a young child to raise. But she made it - amazingly enough. Somehow, she survived to see another rehab, and it actually stuck. She's remarried now (for about 10 years) and happy, and sober.
I hope the same for this young man. So very sad.
I'd like to add to my previous comment.
I think kate was "done" with Jon at the time she asked/told him to
continue with a fake marriage. She had what she wanted: multiples, a tv show, lots of help and freebies, travel, etc., etc. He was no longer necessary, except as window dressing for the show.
IF he had agreed, he would have been more marginalized and powerless than he is now (remember what TLC did to him), since Family Court is involved. I think this infuriates her.
She expected the tv gravy train to continue until the sextuplets were
18. Even if the marriage were still intact, I doubt this would have
happened, but there's no telling that to TFW.
There is a great article about the McCaughey septuplets on Daily Mail. They still live in the home that was donated to them, drive the same 16 year old van that was given to them and do not get any freebies. The kids are all well adjusted, including the eldest daughter who was 2 years old at the time of the tups birth. Two of the kids have a form of cerebral palsey but are doing well. They attend the same public school, go to the same church and the Dad has the same job. What a difference from Kate and the Gosselin kids.
I have to laugh--the writer at Gather.com, Linda Shaw, who usually writes stories about Kate praising her, has a new article titled "Kate Gosselin Makes Unappetizing Bagels Without A Hole, But She's Still Proud!". I am actually shocked that she wrote such a negative one about Kate, but after seeing the picture of the bagels, I can understand.
I especially like this part of the article:
"The former reality TV show mom probably can cook but maybe her recipes just aren't meant for a cookbook. She probably needs to refine them more and make sure she doesn't post photos of unappetizing things she's made on her social media accounts."
She then goes on to say:
"The "bagels" don't even look like bagels. For one thing, there is no hole in the middle and for another, she sprinkled them with so many seeds (sesame seeds possibly) that it looks like they are ready to be pecked at by birds.
It's clear to see that Kate Gosselin is trying but maybe she should stick to simple things...like spaghetti and meatballs."
See we had it all wrong--those weren't bagels--they were bird feeders!!
I'm sure you must be mistaken.... there is NO possible way to raise high order multiples without putting them on tv. No way, shape or form
Isn't TFW's response to Jon's motion to dismiss due tomorrow? I wonder if she's going to ask for yet another extension.
.....
I thought it was the 22nd?
Just watched the segment on H&F with Jack Witherspoon. OMG that kid is amazing. The Food Network needs to give him a show. He was so articulate, explained everything he was doing and he made a shepards pie using rib eye. And he's only 13. Loved him. I went on his Facebook page and he has a post up that says H&F asked him to come back next month and cook and his friend Chef Fabio Viviani will be there as well. Wonder if TFW was asked back to cook. What a difference. TFW, a 38 year old woman makes a crappy meatloaf, and Jack, a 13 year old makes shepards pie using rib eye. I hope TFW was taking notes. She needs them. There's a picture on Jack's facebook page of him and TFW on the couch at H&F and TFW is talking to him with her finger pointing and a guy named Matt Lebowski left a comment that said, "Awesom little man - who's the haggard shrew yelling at you." Priceless. I'm heading to B&N tomorrow to see if they have his cookbook and if they do, I'm buying it.
Kate Gosselin posted Halloween pics and wrote ALL she did: I bought, I found, I decorated, I made the cutest outfits, I am so proud.
The nanny probably did most of the work, but Kate likes the credit. After all she's the busy mom of 8 count them 8 kids Now she's done gloating GN. Such BS She had to post pics cause Home & family did first and Kate Gosselin is never out done.
while I am glad to see she let the kids trick or treat, did you notice the theme throughout the entire blog? Cheap reused items nothing that takes time ...oh except for her miraculous solution for Aaden's boots which were wrong if she was going for authenticity. Why must she act like she is oh so better than anyone else? She is not.
They didn't post on their website or their FB page, but during Kate's segment today they showed pictures of the kids in their costumes. That's probably why Kate waited to post them on her website because they were going to be shown on the show first.
This is the first I've heard about Todd. I enjoyed him on Survivor, how sad. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Foxy I saw that article this morning and Nathan had some interesting things to say about how he feels about the cameras. Now that he's old enough to say how he feels. Kenny also talked about how they horrified by the Gosselin mess.
I prepared a post on it for their 16th birthday tomorrow so watch for it.
She showed her true colors on that video when she "demonstrated" where the scissors "live", and where the tape "lives." Yep, that face is the one her little kids see all day long. Not warm and cuddly, that one.
A letter needs to be written and copied to the two hosts and Woody about how Ashley and Jamie talked about her during the RV trip.
Why? What useful purpose would thatserve?
Yes. sigh. Watch the clip Sleepless. They were putting up photos and *cough* subtitle highlights of her parenting... um...techniques. They also put up her .com
I cringed, but I think she's actually quite proud of her website.
Sometimes you just have to walk away from a trainwreck cuz it's too late to help the fatalities.
Chef Jack Witherspoon was delightful. He has such a joie du vivre....it's contagious! Now there's someone who has the "gift of the gab". He left TFW eating his dust...er, meatloaf...on that segment.
I'm catching up on my DVR and I finally got around to watching NIghtline. This story is just as interesting as when I first heard it. The reporters did a great job getting to the bottom of it, it's refreshing to see a good journalistic piece that asks hardball questions and gets to the very bottom of things. And good for the Paisleys for pushing the issue and trying to come up with some way to prosecute Hope. How wonderful that they are able to root for Hope to get better.
As for Kate, whoa is that all they used of Kate, just that one little soundbyte? Ouch lol, you weren't kidding about blink and you miss it. I haven't really paid close attention to most of her book "tour" appearances and missed most of them, I was taken aback how she looks SO different. The whole shape of her face looks longer and her eyes are getting a slightly buggy appearance. Her skin is terrible and ashen. This looks like a combination of poor nutrition and surgery. She's just ruined herself. I almost feel bad for her. I saw her in person two and a half years ago and she looks positively sick compared to the fresh faced woman I saw. The woman I saw had bright eyes and a fuller face and nice skin. What happened?
Kimberly Paisley is so well spoken and looks so much better. And she's 42!! Objectively speaking I truly would have thought Kate was the older of the two.
Kate's not very helpful remarks are whoa I shouted when you told me that or something stupid like that. Kimberly on the other hand was so articulate and interesting as she explained what Hope put her through. I see why she got 90% more screen time.
The sad fact is after spending 8 years in front of the cameras TFW does not have "it." You know the "it." That special something that people who should be on camera have. That engaging, well spoken, spark that draws you in. After 8 years, TFW is still not camera ready and at this point never will be.
Jay watched tonights episode of DWTS. even if you are not watching, it is worth taking time to watch the ep on ABC.com
This had the personal segments on each remaining contestant, with their family and friendS interviewed. jack s family is so proud of him. Tony talked about what a wonderful partner Leah is. the performances were great also!
The "Inspector Gadget" comment, and her proud description of this ingenious idea she has for the kids, reminds me of one particular part of the RV episode. It was when the kids mentioned something about someone on the crew being their servant (or something to that effect), and she responded in such a grandiose fashion, about teaching her kids that if they worked hard, they would have that some day. Servants? Being slave masters? Who knows.
She truly believes that she is teaching them a life skill - that's the scary part. I don't know about all of you, but most millennials (or most people) I have worked with, do not respond well to "do what I say because I'm the boss". And guess what TFW? Not everyone gets a chance to "be the boss" in real life. If people are truly working together towards a common goal, it shouldn't really matter who the boss is. A great boss knows that if the objective is clear, the people they work with would perform the exact same way, if they were there or not.
"don't know if anyone remembers this, but Home & Family was a show in the mid 90s too, on Family Channel I think. Cristina hosted with another guy and Woody Frazer produced it."
I remember the show. Her cohost was Michael Burger. He also did a show called Mike and Maty. Cristina's been around awhile. I remember her cohosting with Regis.
The pitting the children against each other sounds like something a narcissist would do.
More from the lying liar who lies- she claims to have purchased Hannah's devil horns & pitch fork, when they are obviously recycled from the Halloween episode on her show where her costume was a "she devil". I don't see why she couldn't admit that she reused them, especially since she admitted in the same blog that she had reused other items. Also in the same episode one of the boys was a Skelton, although this years costume does look different.
What's sad too is that she's not doing them any favors with social skills and this is exactly what Jon was talking about, he specifically said that they have trouble with friendships. Gee i wonder why. Maybe because they are being raised as the class snitch/tattler/police officer? While if something major happens it is always good for a child to be comfortable talking to an adult about it, I simply don't believe it's good for those kids to be put in a place where they are always a snitch. They are going to struggle the rest of their childhoods and even in adulthoods if they position themselves in this role and are encouraged in this role. I don't think she should tell them to TURN THEIR BACK on things like this but why not encourage them to help out when they see a problem, encourage the offending party to make things right or just fix it yourself and move on, instead of always TELLING? Tattling should not be something they resort to in every situation and when it's occasionally necessary, it should not be coming from a place of gloating and happiness that they just told on someone.
....I vaguely remember this Home and Family show from back in the day, now that you say so. Wow amazing the things tucked away in our brains that can be drawn up with a little prompting.
Its obvious why the dog didn't like TFMJG. All the dog trainers, all the books, say to reinforce positive behavior, praise the dog for obedience, dogs want to please their people! TFMJG must not be capable of giving praise.
Child behavior: you find ways to give positive reinforcement! Not nit pick the kid to death! Even in first grade I remember, the teachers would tell us to make a chart for home, days of the week, and every day the child practiced their spelling words put a sticker on the chart! Give a reward for how ever many stickers you decide. And praise your child for doing their work! No one said to inspect what your child does to find something wrong.
TFMJG fails the chore and discipline Mom tasks. Any reasonable parent listening, really listening to what she says,.must realize how warped she is.
I remember that when I was a kid, my siblings and I had an unspoken code. We didn't tattle on each other, unless it was something serious. As an example, one day my sister accidentally knocked over a lamp in the living room and broke it. My parents didn't know it had happened, and my sister was afraid to confess. I was 2 years older, and I told her it would be okay, that she should tell them she broke it by accident. So she came clean. There was no big punishment, just an admonishment to be more careful.
On the other hand, one of my other younger siblings was a tattle tale, and we kids did tease that sibling about that. So one day, that sib blurted out to our father that we were calling that sib a tattle tale. My dad said, "well, are you?" And that was that. The sib learned that tattling on your brothers and sisters wasn't really the best way to make friends and influence people.
But this is par for TFW's course as a "parent." She isn't content with making her children miserable and fearful of her; now she makes them torment each other by finding fault and reporting it to her. She can't get enough opportunities to punish those children on her own I guess, so now she's turning them into snitches so she can hand out yet more punishments. Truly a warped mind.
Mccaughey septuplets comin up on gma. Love this from the daily mail article;
The family are also well aware that they luckily avoided the days of reality TV and didn't get sucked into appearing with their children on a show to help pay the bills.
