Other celebrities have not had such positive outcomes. I think Kevin Bacon and his wife had invested a lot with Bernie Madoff -- and poof!, that money was gone, never to be seen again.
______
Which actress was it , whose husband or boyfriend stole from her. Was this from a movie, am I making it up or is it true? Maybe he would take her bank cards and withdraw every morning?

OT question said...

Aunt Connie,
Katherine Higel also did lots of plastic surgery on her face.

As for not working with nasty people, if the person is nasty and can make money in movies or TV, they'll have a job. Once nasty person does not make money for the higher ups, they won't have a job. It's all about money which is why Kate is having trouble finding work now. The draw has always been the cute kids. They're not adorable toddlers anymore. They are 9 and 13 year old. Ho Hum.
_____________
It boils down to dollars and cents. Generally speaking I would guess that once the actress is selling the tickets, she will be hired and catered to. If an actress is mean, it's easier and cheaper to remove the offended craft services employee or one line actress or reimburse the restaurant or hotel. Movie making comes to an end after months anyhow.
Now if an actress is showing up late, is unprepared, does anything to delay filming, steps out of her contract that's when things go bad.
__
I once saw a harry potter behind the scenes book in the books store. They showed a copy of a schedule where every actor and every minute of the day was scheduled. I remember the schedule for one character- at 10 am she gets her extensions on, 10 30 wardrobe, has to be on set X at this time and so forth.

Time is money and the actress is but one employee on the set, even if she is on the poster and is the one doing the promoting.

This reminds me when you get hired at a bank and take a position, they present you a life insurance policy to sign, they pay the payments, they reap the benefit when you die. They do this to be reimbursed for hiring, training and how many pennies they shelled out for you
===============

lukebandit-- I worked for several banks, and yes, they provided me with an insurance policy(one of the full-time employee perks), but I named my own beneficiaries. I never was asked to sign an insurance policy where the bank would benefit.

I have never heard of this and would be interested in knowing where you got that information from.

OT question (2)
I think that the real reason that nobody wants to hire TFW for a show is because they can't get advertisers for a show with her. The real money for the network comes from commercials/advertising, and people have been known to boycott businesses associated with her. I think companies want to boost their sales, therefore will stay clear of someone as off-putting as she is. Plus there is so much negativity surrounding TFW, and no company wants that negativity by association.

Add to that the fact that she's mean, demanding, and difficult to work with. Her big draw was a bunch of cute toddlers, which she can't deliver any longer. There is absolutely no "up" side to taking her on. Best to just leave her alone.

I looked at the case docket on Pacer earlier today and no order had been entered but the docket says the case is closed. I don't think an order will be entered; looking at Rule 41 again, a voluntary dismissal can be filed without a court order, which is what they did; I've seen it done that way. So the case is closed. I also checked to see if another case showed up yet but didn't find one. In the eastern district of PA, you don't efile the original complaint but file a paper copy and its then put on the system by the clerk/deputy clerk. Federal courts were open last Friday so it could have been filed that day and not yet showing up on Pacer.

For all you A Christmas Story fans, of which I am one, you'll get a chuckle out of this - There is a race this Saturday in Cleveland OH called A Christmas Story Run ! Its the race of the month in this month's Runners World magazine. There is a 5k, 10k and a Leg Lamp Fun Run ! Its to celebrate the 30th anniversay of the movie. Cleveland is where the movie was filmed and it starts downtown at the former Higbee's Building, and they play the movie on a jumbotron at the starting line. It ends at the A Christmas Story House & Museum, the actual house in the movie. !!

Christmas just depresses me. I think of people who have nothing, no home, no food, no anything. And while I am not well-to-do, I know I still have tons more than what many people have. My dream would be to win a lottery, then every year, I would rent a huge place, and give Christmas dinner and little gifts to all those who came. It makes no sense to me that so much money is spent on just 'stuff', most of us don't really need anymore of it. I cry for those who have nothing nor no one. Sorry, I am just a mess thinking about it. I just wish we could all be healthy, happy and with a shelter to live in and food in our bellies. If I had the money that TFW likely has, I could help so many people. And it would make me so happy to give it up, as long as I had the basics in life. I just will never understand people like her. I have done gift boxes for children over seas, the last time I did 10 of them, and enjoyed filling them up. But then I worry about the children that don't get a gift box, then feel I should have taken more of them to do. Sorry for being a downer, just the way I feel.

Yes that was Kathy Griffin's ex Matt. Kate thinks she has it bad. I don't think she can even begin to fathom how ugly that divorce was and what it's REALLY like to have someone ravage you financially and emotionally that way. All Jon did was take his kids off T.V. It's not his problem if she doesn't want another job that doesn't exploit them. Child's play.

fidosmommy said...

Can TFW decide not to allow a child to go to custody time with Jon? I assumed it was determined by the court that he got a specific amount of time with each child. TFW might give Jon EXTRA time with them, but can she reduce the time as a punishment to the child?

I think that info about Katherine Heigl being a nightmare on set actually came from some coworkers, maybe even a producer--if I recall it was always treated as pretty legit. Even her costar came forward. Not to say that the publications made this up from bogus sources, but rather to say he disagreed that she was a pill. If it was all made up out of thin air I think he would just say that. I think Katherine Heigl was in that precarious position where she's just not QUITE famous enough or desirable enough to be able to pull off that behavior and have it tolerated. The sad thing is she thought she was big enough to do that. I do believe the stories that they're hesitant to work with her and I think she's using the baby as an excuse for why she's not working. She's been scraping the bottom of the barrel writing blog posts and things. That's not really what A listers usually have time for. On another note though, what she said about Dance Moms made very good points.

Layla I agree, I think she's wedged herself into this spot where she's just too controversial for most of the entertainment world to want to risk. Oh they'll bring her on for a few limited guest spots here and there but anything longer is too risky. The few people who have taken her on have mostly been burned lately, Scott comes to mind. This reputation builds and builds until you're almost on the invisible blacklist of Hollywood.

A big network like ABC could afford the risk. If they get some flak for CWS and DWTS they've got millions more dollars invested elsewhere so they don't care. They can use controversies to their advantage to get ratings. A small cable network where she's more likely to get a full show, cannot risk such a controversy. They can't risk that a controversy will bring in more viewers as opposed to make people boycott them. I'd be really surprised and even impressed if she'd be able to ever get another real show again.

prairiemary You think like I do. I help alittle here and there but "if I win the lottery" I want to be a secret Santa sort of person (year round) Also furnish and store household things & furniture for homeless or battered women etc. who are starting over in a new home and have nothing. I want to set up a fund for my local school that would furnish some of the basics that add up when parents go school shopping in fall. (for all not just low income) Crayons, rulers, pens, pencils, construction paper, markers, scissors and so on. And another big one, search out local fundraisers for those with medical issues and anonymously drop off a large amount of money to help them out. I am sure that if I won I would find plenty more to do too.

And it sounds to me that you are fulfilling that role most admirably. Please try to enjoy the holiday as a time for family and thankfulness and the capacity to know we can do something for someone is the best gift we have to share. Blessed holiday to you.

Because of my love for dogs, and my knowledge of going to hospitals for test after test, I made up my mind to do something for free this year. We live a couple hours away from major hospitals, and not everyone can afford to board their dogs at the kennel when they have to go to the city for medical reasons, so I will be taking in their dogs for them while they go, and doing it all for free. I finally found something that I can do for people-finally!

Ahh, Christmas shows. My husband and I so far have watched Rudolph, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (animated version) and Shrek the Halls. We've never seen that one and we both thought it was hysterical. Frosty the Snowman is on Friday night. We're also waiting for Charlie Brown's Christmas, A Christmas Story and our all time favorite, It's a Wonderful Life. We watch that movie every year and cry like babies every year. Can't wait.

I spent the weekend decorating the house and tree. I like to decorate our house with things I gather from our yard. Branches from leyland cypress, aborvites, pine trees, holly trees, pine cones, birds nests and red berries that sprout on several bushes and trees in our yard. I also love to scour thrift stores, junk shops and antique stores for vintage Christmas ornaments and old Christmas post cards. They look so pretty on the tree.

Joy, love your new avatar.

***TOTALLY OFF TOPIC***

Thuvia, thank you for the advice to prairiemary; I took it to heart.

I, too, think of all the good that I could do if I won the lottery. I haven't played since my father passed away a few months ago. My dream was to win, get him out of the nursing home, and get him round the clock care at home with me.
Also, about 15 yrs. ago I vacationed in a South America country, and vowed that if I ever won the lottery, I'd take care of as many stray dogs and cats there as possible.

Thanks everyone for the leg lamp stories! I gave my dad one for Christmas, 6 months before his stroke, as this was one of his fave films. When I bought it, the cashier said, "Let me use a second bag, since it's FRA-JEEL-AY" :-)
I'm dreading this Christmas, but know that my dad will be with me in spirit, when I watch the film.

When I was growing up, my grandfather would always watch the Yule Log and have a few beers, while my parents and grandmother were going crazy with last minute gift wrapping, lol. He's in a nursing home with dementia now, but I stop by on Christmas morning, and put it on his tv for awhile. I don't think he remembers watching it, but I know he liked it :-)

a coincidence is not the same as an accident said...

prairiemary, that's so kind of you, to take care of dogs as a way of helping others!!
So many of the posters here are kind like that; I truly pity TFW, that she doesn't know how it feels to help others.

capecodmamma - Charlie Brown's Christmas was on last night --- I hope that your stations play it later in the season. One of my favorites too. I put A Christmas Story on my Netflix queue - I absolutely love that movie.

Millicent said...

Remona - Kate might try to take away a child's visitation with Jon, but legally she isn't allowed to do that. (Yeah, when has that bothered Kate?) Still, I think Jon would put a stop to that if it happened. He could take her to court for not following the custody order. The twins might choose to stay at Kate's home sometimes rather than go to their dad's, especially if they have plans with friends or something else they'd rather do. Pretty typical for girls of their age. But I cannot imagine any one of those boys choosing to stay home with their shrew of a mother rather than having a fun week-end with their dad.

Mary in California said...

I think the main reason Kate can't get a show is that she has no talent. Sure, she's mean and difficult to work with and she doesn't have her cute little kids anymore, but really she is painful to watch, which would make anyone thinking of giving her a show think twice. She always looks supremely uncomfortable on tv, can't put a coherent sentence together and can't talk about anything but herself. She could never interview anyone or take part in a panel discussion (as we've seen) or even just be someone fun to watch. I think most would only watch once for the trainwreck value and then ignore. She's not worth the trouble.

And there's my 2 cents. Hey, when did the "cent" symbol go off the keyboard, anyway? I'm a lurker who's been here all along and I wanted to wish all the fine people here a happy and peaceful holiday season. Thanks to Admin for keeping this board going and to all the lovely posters for sharing thoughts and ideas. You all say it better than I ever can. Back to lurking...

Don't Jon's girlfriend's children now live with him? If so, I don't think one of the boys could tolerate that very well..remember how he clashed with Jamie's Clay. He seems to need Cara to keep him calm sometimes too. He may be choosing the lesser of two evils by remaining at home.

Don't forget she admit to acting like a diva and she has high demands.I mean who wants to put up with that?

Especially with someone who has no talents or skills other than using her children who she possibly abused?

She also blames her former network for making her look bad so she takes on responsibility for her actions.

IDK if I was a producer or network I would want KG either.

TFW can be as much of a shrew as she wants, can be as demanding as she wants, as long as she makes the studio execs money, they don't care. It's par for the course.

However, she can't make them money, so she won't ever be picked up again. I agree with Admin that a spot or two on a big network is fine, they can handle the risk, and a little controversy leads to ratings. However, a show on a big network would never fly because she wouldn't garner the viewership that a big network would need to be profitable. She might have enough viewership to be profitable on a smaller network, however the network would be taking a financial risk factoring in the controversy and TFW's expensive demands. As soon as a network sees "financial risk", the show is dead in the water.

JoyinVirginia said...

Tlc stinks, I lean toward the possibility that Milo is a paid individual/ company. And that when Milo is on twitter silence its because TFMJG hadn't paid the bill!

And regarding Katherine Heigl, eh it could be true, it could not be true.

I believe only a small amount of tabloid stories (and the news for that matter too). It's in my nature. They're a money making machine and care very little for truth and care much more for a story that will sell. If they had more evidence than some crew members, I'd believe it. Like with Tom Cruise and his deposition, they have the actual deposition they are referencing. But when it comes to "he said she said" in the news, I ignore the story completely.

Emily tweeted something about how they were talking about sex for her entire English class the other day. That's perfectly normal if maybe they were reading a work of literature that was heavy on sexual themes. There are many classics out there that fit the bill. No big deal. It's college anyway.

Milo tweeted something to Emily in response to that, but she deleted it. But apparently it was something about "sexting."

Another person popped in and said that was really inappropriate of Milo to say to Em.

Emily, bless her heart, said she shouldn't have tweeted about talking about sex in the first place. Emily, Emily. You can tweet what you want. Then she defended Milo. Then Milo said something gross about how of course sex is no laughing matter for teens and they take it seriously, the subject comes up a lot "around here." Either she's playing country bumpkin or really is ignorant. I would venture to say MOST of the great classics you would read in a college English course would have some element of a sexual theme and many revolve around it.

I remember even in high school being a bit surprised at the heavy sexual themes in many of the great classics. And of course we discussed them,. Maturely too. It would be perfectly normal and common to spend an entire class on the subject if not many more. If anything I'm surprised Emily is so immature as to be taken aback about that.

It's remarkable she retweets this picture that's been around the web for months now, since it talks about a kid who is putting himself through college on his own and not grifting for it or blaming the government if he falls short.

Oh and I love too how she attributes this all to great parenting. Because EVERYTHING a child does must be because of people like her, the great child raisers. Kids can never get credit for doing something on their own accord. Maybe the kid has big spender greedy parents and decided that he didn't want to live like that anymore, how does she know his parents have anything to do with his approach to college?

Jumping In said...

I think if a network dared to pick up Kate for a show the only angle they could use is her diva behaviour to draw any type of curiosity. It would be based on her trying to navigate the rebellious teen and tween years. I imagine it would be all door-slamming and Inspector Gadeting over chores. That is about it, what else does TFW have to offer of any interest other than tension between the siblings and/or herself. It would mean using her children, just at a different phase in their lives.

Two victim comments. I agree, she loves to throw out something inappropriate then cry victim when she gets called out on it. She is very much like Kate.

Honestly why is she tweeting Em in the first place? Em is an 18-something college freshman. She is a 50-something mom of teens. I find that borderline inappropriate. What could you possibly have in common? Emily has a mom I presume, and aunts and mentors. She doesn't need Milo to butt in to her life and especially about a tweet that had nothing whatsoever to do with Kate.

Yes given that they're talking about the 1% that would date this to about the Wall Street movement.

It did seem suspicious to me because it has a "I'm writing something outrageous in the hopes it will go viral" feel to it. Lately half of these viral things I see feel fake and when you google them sure enough they are. I think the sentiment is still a good one but I still can't get over Kate the queen of living off of everyone else's dime falling in love with it.

Kate tweeted some more pictures of her new toy, Zorro. In one of the pictures, it looks like there is a heat lamp turned on while he is out of his cage. Isn't that dangerous? I can understand using a heat lamp to provide extra warmth for a tropical bird, but shouldn't he be caged when it's in use? What if he flew into the lamp?

Does anyone remember around the time of the cruise being cancelled Kate was talking about a puppy or another dog? Maybe Milo or another sheeple were pushing the idea on her. Kate was talking about it so much that some of the non-fans took it seriously and were begging and pleading with her not to do that.

Then finally Kate popped into twitter and said even though she would love to have another pet their plates were full and they just couldn't take it on.

So what the heck? How come 18 months ago another pet was too much but now the house is a zoo?

TLC stinks said...

Kate will never get another show. Her reputation has blacklisted her. She may still get the occasional few minutes of air, but she blew multiple opportunities because it was obvious she cannot carry on a free thinking, coherent, current conversation. Unfortunately, her head is still swollen from all the boot lickers who wanted to cash in when J&K Plus 8 was a ratings winner (this includes Steve).

I almost feel sorry for her until she lies or attempts to use the kids for some grifting scheme. It's a pattern and she never varies.

The bird is her diversion from real life; it is a toy, sadly, and the thrill will wear off soon. If she had a calendar full of 'engagements' there would be no bird.

I remember even in high school being a bit surprised at the heavy sexual themes in many of the great classics. And of course we discussed them,. Maturely too.

-------

Of course. Even lit studied in Middle School has sexual themes. I can't imagine they didn't read novels such as Angelou's, "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings." Postmodern literature, too, contains sex and is commonly read by high school students. They read it, they discuss it...it can't be ignored because so often character analysis. motifs and symbols depend on it.

Wasn't there a fan who was tweeting Paige (before Paige turned 18) explaining something about strange sex? I can't remember what it was. Seems that adults have done some communicatin with Kate's young fans.

For the last 2 or 3 days, 2 extremely rare things happened at the Grand Canyon. It was completely filled with fog, the entire canyon! They say it is a once in a lifetime occurrence and it happened 2 times in 2 or 3 days. The pictures are stunning. Wallpaper worthy.

It just makes me even madder at kate saying that the Grand Canyon was a waste of space. Who says things like that about the GC? In the article they said the pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it. Even on the show the Brady Bunch, Mike, Carol, Alice and the kids stood at the ledge and they were just awestruck and hardly could express what they were seeing.

But kate, didn't she get mad at C and screamed and told her she couldn't go and look at it? IIRC. Did she deny her getting to see it? If I were Jamie, I would of waited till kate got out of sight and I would of taken her over to see it. kate is going to scream about something no matter what it is, so let her have another tantrum. At least the child would get to see it.

She makes me ill.

Again, just like the recent pet purchases, I think her making a point that the twitter world knows (or THINKS) C. is with her is because of something in the book. She's trying too hard. Just like the fake "heart to heart" she had with him at the corn maze. Yup, that was soooo spontaneous and genuine (barf)

"They lie to get out of emotional responsibility. They lie to manipulate. They lie to gain influence. They lie out of habit. Life is a game to narcissists - a game they have to think they're winning - and truth is one casualty in their game plan. The only time a narcissist has any interest in telling the truth is when it will serve them or cost them nothing to do so. The rest of the time, they don't consider it necessary or important to be all that honest. Honesty can impede their self-gratification and compromise their powerful persona, and they don't like that. To narcissists the truth is frequently "flexible" and optional. There's no such thing as an honest narcissist."

I have a feeling she's even being EXTRA nice to C.in recent days/weeks. She thinks that will wipe the slate clean.

Don't Jon's girlfriend's children now live with him? If so, I don't think one of the boys could tolerate that very well..remember how he clashed with Jamie's Clay. He seems to need Cara to keep him calm sometimes too. He may be choosing the lesser of two evils by remaining at home.
*****
I know almost nothing about Jon's living situation, beyond what I read here. I know he lives in a cabin out in the woods.

I also don't know if one of the boys would actually think it would be better to stay at home with his mother, robotically, rather than be with his father and maybe put up with dealing with a non-sibling. Seeing their glazed eyes, empty faces, and distant looks when they are around their mother leads me to believe that dealing with a non-sibling would actually be the least worst of those two choices.

That whole RV trip was just a disaster. I really get the sense that the crew and TLC/Discovery knew the show was ending and decided to just let Kate shine in all her true dysfunctional glory. Sadly, that episode conveniently is not included on the DVDs or available through streaming.

I hope, when the kids are older, that at least some of them decide to visit these spectacular sites with their own families sans film crew of course and get a chance to take the time they were denied as children to fully appreciate these national treasures.

Millicent said...

Either she's playing country bumpkin or really is ignorant. I would venture to say MOST of the great classics you would read in a college English course would have some element of a sexual theme and many revolve around it.
*****
For heaven's sake, even Jane Eyre has an underlying sexual theme. It's a romantic novel, so her employer's attentions toward her are not meant to be viewed as creepy. But the fact of that time period is that there were very few jobs a woman could do outside the home; school teacher, governness or prostitute were probably the main choices for an unmarried woman. And if your employer, or even another male working at the same place, made unwelcome sexual advances - you had little recourse. Leave your job with no good reference, or give in and hope for the best.

So yeah, many great novels often involve some sexual context of one kind or another, which makes sense because romantic love, sexual desires, jealousy, etc. play a major role in most of humanity.

Not to mention Shakespeare, or the bawdy Miller's Tale by Chaucer.

prairiemary, what a beautiful sentiment. I agree, for a lot of people this time of year is all about the"getting" and in the end a good deal of it is just cheap crap that you really didn't need in the first place.

We've been cleaning out our house and I'm always amazed at how much stuff we've managed to accumulate, stuff that has just been sitting, forgotten and unused.

Our family is doing a gift exchange this year. Each person drew a family member's name from a hat and they just buy a gift for that person. We're even having our two youngest participate (they're buying a gift for each other).

We'll have some Santa gifts for the younger kids of course but overall we're trying to keep it low key and to focus more on the family traditions - tree trimming, caroling, cookie baking, volunteering and buying gifts and food for our church's "Adopt a Family" program, visiting the Fantasy of Lights display, ice skating, having a snow day up in the mountains, etc.

Oh, Nigella Lawson went to court this morning in London and was on the stand. She admitted to using cocaine twice. Once in 2010 with her late husband, because he was in pain when he was sick, and once with while married to her husband now because of the way he treated her. Of course. I remember when I taught The Scarlet Letter to tenth graders, and one of the kids said, "I thought Puritans didn't mess around before they got married." This, of course, set off a discussion about premarital sex as sin, Dimmesdale's guilt, society's hypocritical condemnation of Hester's adultery, feminism, and how a "love child" was treated in 17th century Puritan New England. There was nothing creepy about it -- just kids engaging in an honest discussion.

Do we naturally rub off on our kids, or is caring and giving a taught behaviour? Maybe all 8 Gosselin children will grow up and see how their mother gave nothing/not much to those in need, and be entirely opposite of how their mother viewed caring and sharing. TFW has no shame whatsoever! I could never imagine showing my face after all the crap she has pulled, but she just glides by, not a worry in her world. Imagine the delight of her children to sponsor children in need, children in her own country. What valuable lessons could be learned by them, then carried with them thru their lives. Sigh...

I think the problem is TFW has some very young teen fans and then some older middle aged fans and not much in between. It seems to me some of the older fans have no idea how to talk to teens in an appropriate manner or even know that maybe it's best not to talk much at all to them other than civilities. Milo's initial sexting joke comes across like an older adult trying to be hip and cool to the teens in the room. But in the end such attempts are usually just really awkward!! As it was here.

I grew up in.a town and neighborhood where 6 - 8 children were common.

These are not toddlers. You don't "put" nine-year-olds and teens to bed.
Just as children do, the bird needs a chance to wind down. You can't expect him to be active, being handled by kids and then put him back in his cage where he will go to sleep immediately. Geez, Kate. the bird needs quiet time, at least 10 hours of darkness and sleep at night, with a few naps during the day.

She has a pretty hefty monthly and annual nut and has got to be digging into plenty of principal to maintain it at this point. The annual tuition bill is more than some family's entire annual budget!

I agree that the 'cute kid quotes' are neither cute, sweet nor funny. They do sound 'odd'...somehow off. I suspect that is because TFW makes up each cute thing, and since she has no clue what is or is not normal, the quotes don't 'sound' right.

Ruh Roh. Didn't some here say that the bird will start squawking at night or early in the morning and the novelty will begin to wear off? The bird must be doing something to make her say he is resisting bedtime (I know I know...if true). I believe that part IS true. Does she know to put a cover over the cage?

I doubt very much the kids every say any of the things she says they say. I don't think she pays much attention to them, except to correct them, so she hasn't a clue what they say. She's using her kids (and the bird) as a prop to get attention from her tweeties.

I'm sorry, but even if the kids still call her mommy at 9.5 years old, they don't do it while they're in conversation. You say "mommy" or "daddy" to get attention from a parent while they're doing something else. But these kids are supposedly always calling her mommy. Is she revealing that she rarely pays attention to these kids?!

OT: article in Dec 9-22 issue of TV Guide about increased ratings for traditional TV soap operas. The article says DVR viewing helps all the shows.
also in the issue: photo of the Duck Dynasty guys in costume for their church nativity performance! The authentic family that is a family with all the relatives talking to each other is still very popular. one of the attractions is seeing the family members play off each other.
hmmm, who do we know who does not talk to their relatives? TFMJG fell off the trend train a long time ago.

"Milo" always throws out these show suggestions for Kate. If that doesn't sound like a plant from Kate or from her PR, I don't know what does! I have reached the conclusion with the constant baiting that Milo is some sort of Twitter identity creation originally making comments on fan sites and has been maintained for years. In fact, have you noticed lately how less hick Milo has been sounding in the tweets? Where's all the "g" dropping? May not even be the same person. So what "Milo" has posted photos? Easy to steal and they have been carefully staged to not reveal any identity. Why hasn't Milo met her most fav star? Why all the excuses?

As far as Internet rumors, of course Kate has not given up on a dating show. And she could still incorporate the kids by having their reactions to her various boyfriends. And this whole zoo crap is definitely not Kate-like. She made it clear she is not an animal person on the show and Robert has proof in his book her treatment of the dogs. I am an animal person and I have never, ever seen her interact with animals like a person who loves or enjoys their company. It just isn't Kate and she is projecting her fantasy world to make her more appealing. She is lying. Totally agree she is attempting to deflect any criticism that may emerge.

Robert, can you at least explain what delay is causing you not to release the book?

TFW recently retweeted. "It's not about saying the right things, it's about doing the right things."

So I thought I would look at some of the things TFW has done.
Filed multi million dollar federal lawsuit against Jon Gosselin and Robert Hoffman which in less than 3 months she folded on, dismissed the whole thing.

The rushed, bootleg Cookbook bombed.

Quit running races, including several she said she had registered for in the latter part of 2013.

Used teens on twitter to threaten her critics with hacking their bank accounts and contacting their employers.

Let go from blogger at the Stir.

Fired from Coupon Cabin in 2012.

No steady employment.

Quit attending Church, after the money train that once paid 10’s of thousands dried up.

Alienated by numerous friends and family.

Gave up on dogs, only to take one back for ratings.

TLC cancelled her show.

Breast implants with advice from bodyguard.

Told husband marriage is over, but still expected him to play the part for TLC.

First cookbook cancelled when plagiarism discovered.

Severed relationship with author Beth Carson who wrote "Multiple Blessings."

Fired over 40 nannies.

Refused assistance from Father's church, while writing to large corporations and media for handouts.

I don't believe she even has a bird. Her brown leather sofa does not have white stitching (bird on her head pic), she does not have red gingham drapes (bird out of cage pic), her floors are not that color nor does she have that wine rack piece of furniture (kids holding hands out pic). I think all those pics were taken someplace else and the one pic of the bird eating from a paper plate on her counter may have been because she was babysitting him for someone else over the holidays. Kate is a liar liar pants on fire.

I so agree. I was appalled at Kate's indifference and cruelty to the dogs. The way she "scoffed" about Nala's surgery and the cost. Guess what? Shit happens with animals. All. The. Time.
You do what you have to do, if you at all can, and please, don't bitch about the cost of surgery when you're a millionaire many times over.
It's called YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. It's what you sign up for.

What I think this "zoo" is about is keeping the children with Kate vs. Jon. The animals are cared for by the kids, so you want to leave and stay more with Daddy, or live with Daddy? Well, your birds, chickens or dogs aren't going to get fed, that's your job.
"You choose".

TLC stinks said...

That article about Kate wanting a man is a compilation of old info and new stuff. However, I find it interesting that the "source" says:

“She needs the money. The kids are getting bigger, and she has no idea how she will pay for college--let alone the millions of other things that will need to be paid for. She feels that her ex-husband, Jon, is no help, and she thinks that she will have to do it all by herself.”

Such contradictions! She lives a rich lifestyle but there's no college money? Actually I kind of believe she tapped into those funds and they are depleted. You know how she has always said the house is for the kids? Maybe that is what she means about college. She will sell it to pay for college as she blows through the kids' money. Besides, Jon said he put his money aside for the kids already, but I don't think Kate has.

IMHO, I think Milo is Steve. He could be doing it to stroke Kate's ego or get attention for her so it will catch the eye of a network or producer. Or maybe, if he pretends to be demented enough they might be able to make a Lifetime movie about Kate a cyber stalker?

Ah, this is the tweet from this weekend that struck me as particularly not credible. Kids just don't think this way, they don't think "Mommy focused" about things. In other words, Alexis had to observe the bird chewing with his mouth open then put herself in Kate's shoes about how Kate would feel about it. That's just not how kids view their world usually. And it also came just before the kids were spotted all the way down in Philadelphia with Jon, making the tweet even more suspicious. I think it was made up out of thin air.

BTW, I do believe the bird lives at the house. Those curtains in the background look like they were left by the doc's wife because she had this country type look in the interior. I don't think Kate has spent one dime of her money adding anything new other than what was left by the previous owner or paid for by Lane furniture.

Saying the kids still use mommy is just her way of instilling in her fans that the kids are still toddlers. Heck, some little girls at nine start their periods! Although, keeping their weight down may delay that, do you think? I recall thinking in the Grand Canyon fiasco that one of the twins was ready for a training bra. It was shameful for Kate to allow her to be filmed without one. Girls mature so quickly these days.

Could we stop with the conspiracy theory that the bird is not in Kate's house? See the pictures below:

Who/whatever Milo is, I agree that she/he/it is a set-up to help Kate catch the eye of a producer.

IMO, it's either Steve or a hired entity. Maybe Steve does it sometimes, and the hired entity does it sometimes, thus the discrepancies in tone.

Although that doesn't explain why Milo is on silence when Kate is on silence. That is *far* too coincidental. Maybe it really is Kate herself.

Am I the only one who thinks Milo is exactly who she says she is? These sort of obsessed fans are a dime a dozen. It's just most other celebs have the good sense to keep their distance.

However, I do think Milo has self-appointed herself Kate's PR, assistant, coach, cheerleader, and spokesperson. And since Kate never told her to stop and in fact encourages it, she just gets deeper and deeper into this role. This is why she sounds like a set up because she has on her own accord taken on all the duties that an insider who is a set-up would. What's sad is she is doing all this work for free that most celebs pay good money for. She is being used. We've seen similar things before with Kate and even other celebs. Wasn't it Barb who voluntarily took on the duties of getting books mailed and signed? Bet my bottom dollar Kate wasn't paying her a dime for that, which is clearly a role an assistant would be paid for. That is a LOT of work. She uses the fans for little things like this to cut costs to pay people to do it and because she's too lazy to do it herself. She doesn't work but can't even bother to get around to her mail for months. She is not the first celeb to take advantage of an overzealous fan's willingness to help out.

I'm of the same opinion as most of the other posters that Kate's getting a new pet is just a deflection from dropping the lawsuit and a feeble attempt at trying to stay relevant. Poor bird.

As for the "cute things Kate's kids say", it's ridiculous and so transparent. She's got nothing to add to any conversation, her books sales are paltry and not garnering her anymore appearances so she uses her kids to get a fix of attention from Twitter.

So, what else is new?

do you think that we have taught our kids the joy of giving and caring for those who have less than us? Do we naturally rub off on our kids, or is caring and giving a taught behaviour?
******
I believe the best way to instill a sense of caring and compassion for others is by example; and then by having your child(ren) participate in endeavors that help others. My parents have been wonderful lifelong examples of people who truly believe in giving back, and in wanting very little for themselves. When you grow up around that sort of personality, it can't help but rub off. (However, there will also be those whose personality or quirks make them less likely to be outwardly giving.)

As children, my parents had us join the 4H club. Don't know what they do now, but in addition to raising animals, learning to cook, sew, build small projects, etc. - we also had service days. Sometimes we picked up trash along the roadway; other times we collected canned goods for a food drive, etc.

Our church would have "feed the needy" nights several times a year, and when we were younger, we helped by setting the tables, or cleaning up. As we got older, we might help by serving the food or making a dish or two.

My son has a generous heart and always has. I cannot take credit for that :) This year, he spent just over $50 of his own money to buy food for his school's food drive. Yet he still your average teen who wants me to buy him an expensive phone for Christmas lol.

I think whatever any of us can do to help others, be it in a small way or bigger, is equally important.

Why does she have to make her children sound so juvenile or unintelligent? And as usual, it always ends up being about her, with her hashtag "justlikeme".

I believe Kate makes up almost all of the things her kids supposedly say. She's always shushing them or sending them out of the room, probably because their talking interferes with the imagined scenarios she's always weaving in her mind.

While I completely agree with you about this, there is another scenario: the one of terror and fear. Chewing with mouth open leads to Mother's tantrum, rage, a beating etc. God knows how often and how loud she has screamed about the poor dog chews too. When Kate starts swinging, she likely isnt too particular about who she hits. Alexis might have seen the bird eating in his normal messy manner and immediately worried about who was going to get punished for this.

But I agree with you that a normal, emotionally healthy child wouldnt be making Mother's reactions to ordinary life their top concern and priority.

That's 177 copies sold for the month. Her total sales ( since the end of March), both hardback and Kindle, comes to 1,240. In 8 months. I'm thinking back to when Milo said the book was HOT. Bear with me while I pull up my grammar nazi boots. OK. Wading in...

The fan we know and love as the defective detective tweeted this to TWF:

@Kateplusmy8 So cute!:-) What app is that you made the collage with? (pardon my dangling participle,LOL) #PhotogenicZorro 🎶🎶🎶

Of course, TWF responds with the following. Take note - she doesn't know the name of the app - allegedly - God forbid she "endorse" anything without compensation...I'll address the grammar issue with the DD's tweet in a moment.

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8 4 Dec
@XXXXXXXXXX it was photo joiner or jointer

TFW also tweets to DD:

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8 4 Dec:

@XXXXXXXXXX haha I love that you mentioned your grammatical error!Twitter doesn't assist w proper usage of anything we learned in Eng class!

DD responds:

@Kateplusmy8 As a teacher,I know better but #140Characters #NoRegrets ;-)

Soooo - DD, as a detective and teacher all you did was end a sentence with a preposition. Well, that and use the 140 character as an excuse. Sticking a preposition on the end of a phrase or sentence is situation to be avoided if possible, but it is not a hard and fast rule. No error - other than the sentence was quite awkward. You MUST have done it on purpose, correct? To annoy any grammar nazis out there? Like me? "What app did U use to create ur collage" - no preposition AND under 140 characters. No need to waste characters on asking forgiveness, with plenty of characters left over for even longer hashtags! Yay!

More egregious, as a teacher no less, is that you think a sentence/phrase ending with a preposition is a dangling participle. It is not. Not even close. Confusing gerunds and participles is common. This is neither, let alone dangling. I, personally, love dangling participles. They can be a great source of entertainment.

Now - TWF. As you can see, or look up, no grammatical error occurred. That mouthful you typed concerning twitter's lack of assistance could easily have been stated as "Sad that Twitter doesn't have a grammar checker". Yes. I agree. Clearly there is a need.

There. My job is done here for today. Grammar nazi boots coming off. Let the sheeple snark about my lack of a life. Yes. I have a stick up my butt. Saves on Depends. It's a medical condition. Don't judge. At least I never bragged multiple times on the Internet that English was my BEST/favorite subject in school. Or claimed to be a teacher. HTH.

Hi everyone! I have stayed away from Kate stuff until I read she tweeted about getting a bird. I am acertaingirl on twitter and I was the one who warned her about letting a bird sit on your shoulder.

Anyhow, I see she hasn't followed my advice, and after seeing the latest pics of Z on top of his cage, I can see why she can't get him back in the cage at night.

Never allow a bird to be above your head. This lets them think they are leader of the flock and can lead to other behavioral problems.

I fear for that bird, parrots use their beaks as a 3rd foot and it may appear they are going to bite when they are just trying to climb or balance.

Suzee: Some parakeet as well as other domestic/pet birds are tagged for: breeding, or they ID a breeder, his stock of birds. It's an ID. It can be harmful, cause it can open, and get caught on something, like their cover, or seed netting, if you ever get a bird with a ban on, you might want to have your Vet remove it. The bird will sometimes pick on it. I have a Vet that specializes in mostly birds, he does take other animals, but mostly you will see birds of every kind on a saturday morning.

TLC stinks: It is ok to handle your bird, a couple times a week or for an hour a day, too much handling will make your bird sick. With 8 kids, all wanting to play with the bird, will eventurally make the bird sick. The kids should go and play with the dog. The dog could use some attention.

Did anybody see "Little People Big World" this past Tuesday where Amy and her husband tied themselves together to prove to Zack that they can work together. First of all, it was so fake and preplanned. But more importantly they need to get off tv and have some pride. The past many episodes they fight worse than Jon and Kate ever did and talk about separating or divorcing. No, they don't say those words but they did say several times that they are not compatible and with most of the kids gone, they have to see if they have what it takes to stay together.

Now they are in the wedding business of hosting weddings on the farm. But they have a wedding manager and a wedding assistant. Also, as everyone knows, they grow pumpkins and sell them for a few weeks a year. Well, they also have a manager to handle that and it showed a "farm hand" of sorts this past episode also. Plus they have tons of workers to sell them during the season. All of that is fine and dandy--no problem-- but when they were tied together for one hour Matt complained profusely that Amy's cooking and cleaning was a waste and he needed to get to his office because he had so much work to be done for the weddings and pumpkin seasons. Well, with 2 managers and numerous helpers for the entire farm, what exactly is Matt doing that is so darn pressing and important. His two older kids were home for the summer and apparently Zachary, his girlfriend, and Jacob was also also being paid to work that summer on the farm.

I wish everybody would watch the rerun next Tuesday before the next new episode and blog about it. In my opinion Matt is totally an ass and very hard to live with.

And he did (or does) have that business where he puts step stools in hotels but that was many years ago. He hasn't mentioned that business in years. He drives Amy nuts with him always having to get his way and his "important projects". Even his daughter made that comment on the show. All their kids know they have a very crummy relationship.

I bet TLC has paid for 75% or more of their living expenses the past many, many years. I think Amy taught one class (few episodes ago) and that can't be paying the bills. Yes, Amy does other great things but I am talking about things that generate money. And I doubt pumpkin season with all the tremendous overhead (numerous staff, trucks, and driving carts) can't be bring in the big bucks.

Anyway, I think it may be a good topic to discuss next week if nothing breaking is going on with Kate. After all this is a reality show. And Zachary only works part-time as a soccer assistant since high school (I think it is the same job he had while in high school) and lives in an apt. We all knows who pays for that.

I really think without this reality show, Matt would not have had the excessive money to continually expand "this farm" that drives Amy up the wall. Also Zachary and Jacob don't seem to be doing well.

Yeah, I don't think did any research on that bird. Poor thing will be dead in 6 months.

TLC stinks: It is ok to handle your bird, a couple times a week or for an hour a day, too much handling will make your bird sick

Curious- do birds get sick from human germs? Do they catch human illnesses like the common cold or flu?
Thanks!

I have glanced at Little People but not of fan of anything TLC produces. Fake show all the way. TLC does nothing but break up families, instill greed, and mock people. Apparently Amy and her husband are continuing for the money. Opportunists? You bet. Just like Gosselins.

Did anybody see "Little People Big World" this past Tuesday where Amy and her husband tied themselves together to prove to Zack that they can work together.
*******
I never got into LPBW, but definitely know who they are and am familiar with the drama that surrounds the couple.

Frankly, I'm surprised they still have a show. That recap you gave sounds painful to watch.
I just can't imagine they have a sustainable audience after all this time. What else is there? They're little people, we get it!
It seems beyond manufactured.
Wasn't the LPBW family filming in Hawaii when J+K+8 was filming??

Don't know if anyone posted about this but the pic she put on Twitter with the boy and Zorro. There are many commenting on this.
The poor kid has some real dental issues.
As we all guessed, the first to get braces among the 6 was the golden child. Don't know if any of the other girls got them but have not seen any pics recently of a Brace on/off party.
Of course, Milo is defending Kate saying she knows for a fact Kate takes those kids to dentist on a regular basis.
There grandfather was a dentist and would be very upset that it got that bad.
Don't they have a brushing station in the kitchen? Where's Kate when this is done?
She really does not see or notice people around her, just like she stated, even her own children.
My heart breaks for these children, she totally does not see her neglect.

Leslie, I used to watch Little People Big World each week. Not any more for a couple of reasons.

One of my daughter's friends met Matt in Portland and he was a real a** to her. So full of himself. Second, Matt is always working on the next project, never does he ever go into maintenance mode and take care of things. As we all know the more you have the more you have to take care of. All the projects he just had to do, look like sh*t now. Remember the "man cave" building with the black and white floor. Its messy, unorganized and neglected.

Amy and Matt made ton of money off TLC because they played the game well. They were nice people that had a message to tell (little people coping in a regular person's world). But as the years went on Matt had to have bigger, faster, better, newest, greatest things. Had to a build a pool. Had to buy two used Mercedes. What is that a 9 car garage they have. And the house, Good Lord it's huge.

The children aren't much better. Every shot of the twin's room and Jacob's room showed it was a dump. Even after they remodeled, their rooms were a dump. Stuff in the hallways, everywhere. Ugh. No sense of pride of ownership.

After the giant house got trashed (normal living for them), I had had enough. They don't appreciate anything.

I could go on and on at the Roloff's but I'm sure you get the idea.

I had the Rolloff's on while sewing the other night. Painful. Reminded me very much of the Gosselin's the last 8-10 episodes before the divorce.

TLC is not good for maintaining the family unit. I hope they don't push the divorce story line for that little couple who just adopted a little boy.

Amy did kind of want things her way at first, but then did later do 'his' things. She took an interest in what he was doing, whereas he had no interest whatsoever in what she was doing.

He was a real jerk. Totally dismissive of her. She might as well be invisible as far as he's concerned.

I really felt sorry for her at the end, when they were in the garden. She was a little lecture-y about it....but she may as well have not spoken for how much he 'heard'. She was reaching out (a little tentatively, for which you couldn't blame her), and he metaphorically not only slapped her hand away, he bit it and spit it out.

My husband played hookie from work this afternoon and we went to see the film Philomena with Dame Judi Dench. If anyone is thinking of seeing it, I highly recommend it. You will laugh, cry and get really pissed off.

RIP Nelson Mandela. What an extraordinary man.

Interesting you all bring up the Roloffs. For some reason last night I stumbled upon Jacob Roloff's Twitter. I forget how. Someone I followed led me there or something. Anyway, he's a piece of work. He tweeted that everything he dislikes about people in general, his mother does or something.

Oh, and about the toothbrush station. I don't get that, besides the fact that doing it in the kitchen is gross, you should (I know I know) brush your teeth for two minutes. If they all lined up that would be 15 minutes of toothbrushing. Why not send them to separate sinks and get it all done in less than 5?

Grandee4, I really hate to comment on the kids but you're absolutely right. The poor boy's gums look swollen and he really does need some dental work done. That is not a healthy looking mouth. Hopefully she is working on it behind the scenes. Looks like he might need a palatal expander. He may already have one and we just don't see it in the picture.

Wasn't going to say anything, but I noticed his teeth too. Typical. I think Kate hates the boys because they remind her of Jon.

Birds are banded when they are days old. The bands are continuous and slipped over the foot. This shows the bird was domestically hatched. Birds that are wild caught (much rarer these days) will have a band that is cinched together.

Yes, the bands can and do get caught. My grey doesn't wear a band, but I keep it with her paperwork.
