Anonymous by the way, whoever has every right to report me to the bar if they want to. And the bar has every right to open their crazy file and dump it in there. I don't care. I know what I've done and haven't done and I couldn't care less what the sheeple think, free speech, they can tell the bar whatever they want, have at it. So don't draw me into the drama. The fact that I feel certain things have no place here, things like politics, religion, how you feel about gay people, and so on, and whatever may or may not have happened to your friend, does not mean it's not "important" to me.
In fact as far as politics go, I live and breathe it. But, I generally don't allow it here.
So it doesn't work that way to throw around attacks that we don't think things are important just because we don't discuss it here.
Though to be honest, the "outings" really don't interest me. As sad and terrible as it has been for people, I don't find "following" the whole stupid saga to have done anything to enrich my life, so I simply don't. It doesn't mean you're not compassionate it means it's simply better emotionally to stay OUT of it.

I don't want to. I want it isolated. So I double click at top left back arrow and get to this blog.
I think if I set up that page, I'd just go right to this blog.

They say he was locked up for fraud and he was using her name in order to scam people.
But she wants nothing to do with him and hasn't for the last 15yrs.

She has been very critical of her mom lately. But I've noticed lately she's stopped and even told her she loved her at the Globes. She acts like Mom has dementia.
And this is where I like her even more. Because even though her mom wronger her in the past and probably was directly responsible for a lot of the exploitation, the point is, she can't hurt her anymore. So it does no good to continue to hang onto all that anger. Says quite a lot about her.

Apparently this is minority opinion but bear with me. It doesn't bother me that this Honey Boo kid's family is uncouth. Rich people, poor people, and everywhere in between. I think Kate, although she may comb her hair and wear makeup, is extremely uncouth. Just one example, the way she and the kids RAN to the philly museum like little ruffians. What the heck? You're in a public place, in a historical city, at a MUSEUM, walk with dignity for heaven sake you are not animals. I try not to choose uncouthness for myself but I recognize it happens all the time.

Brooke Shields mom Teri also said the long goodbye having the love of her daughter, despite years of pain between them, mostly caused by Teri's stage mom antics and her alcoholism.
I have to beg to differ about the Phila. Museum of Art steps. To this day, bus loads of tourists run the steps. I ran them several times a week as part of my run and saw it all the time. Made me smile.
It's not like a church or standing directly in front of a priceless Monet when hushed tones and reverent body language is expected. Rocky will forever run those steps and jump for joy at the top. It's a different story once inside, of course.
Gosh, I have to try to find a really funny photo I took several years ago, atop the "Rocky steps". A busload of Sumo wrestlers, yes, Sumo wrestlers unloaded from a bus and run up the steps. After they lumbered to the top, I stood behind them and I took a photo of their fat, dimpled, thonged asses lined up as they raised their arms and pumped their fists triumphantly.
It was like Fat Bastard in Goldmember. The thong part, that is.

It's all well and good to say just delete them ASAP but both myself and the staff have many other things going on and can't always get here to delete things "right away." By the time I get around to it it often seems to late. Besides, your comments weren't deleted either. Deleting is not always how I solve things. Sometimes I just ask nicely. There is no way to just get rid of the anonymous option without getting rid of the type in a name option too. I tried it once and the posts here virtually ground to a halt. Too many valuable people choose to type in a name to exclude them, it wasn't fair to them.
This is why I'm saying enough is enough, Jo. You can't stop talking about the blog. This is not a blog about the blog. It's annoying to constantly hear what you think of the blog. Blogs on blogs is obnoxious. It feels like an attempt to derail things even if that's not the intention. Save it for email and try talking about boiled eggs or Jodie Foster or something, please. Think of it as a suggestion box. A suggestion box is quiet and unobtrusive and doesn't disrupt people who ARE having a great time and DON'T have issues. It's not a suggestion MICROPHONE.
This really is a safe space and if there are concerns about being 'outed', how about if we share some tips for Internet safety. Here's a few off the top of my head to get started.
If you have a profile, don't share personal information on it including websites or blogs you post on.
Don't share personal information here - your town, kids' names, parents' names, where you work, etc.
If you want to post on fan blogs (or most any blog) know that there may be a tracker in place. Some are basic and give almost no info, others are pretty sophisticated. Having a tracker doesn't necessarily mean it will be used for nefarious purposes, these can be used for analytics.

I checked my recap they were running the National Constitution Center.
Flat ground and completely separate from the Rocky steps where running is what you do. Absolutely no reason, none, to run at the Constitution Center.
An even worse example of Kate's uncouth behavior is when she screamed her head off on that boat in Alaska when she and her kids finally saw the whales.
That shit was unbearable, and I just saw it in a small clip. Sheesh. It's one thing to be in awe over something (wildlife can be very fascinating); it's another thing to scream at the top of your lungs when people around you are trying to enjoy the amazing view.
That was uncouth behavior at its worst.

When I finally got my name in blue and a koala icon, for some odd reason my aol email account was hacked and I could not get in to aol. I made a few phone calls to clear it up and a person in India said they would open it up for $299. I got the real AOL people and because I could not tell them the name of my first pet, which would never have been a selected question, they could not help me. I remember my first pet was a rooster and we ate him. No more pets for me until I was an adult with kids. Also, I could no longer post here in blue. I wish I knew how to open up that account because I had things saved on it and no back-up.

Any scream out of fear is understandable.
Kate seemed to be in this ridiculous habit of screaming out of excitement or to show off, in totally inappropriate situations. On a boat in Alaska, where there are families all around who are trying to keep quiet in hopes of seeing whales --TOTALLY inappropriate time and place for such screaming.
I cured a five year old of her ridiculous habit of screaming in about two days flat. All i did was ask her to stop doing it, and she did. Her parents were amazed, as it annoyed the hell out of them too. I guess it never occurred to them to simply ask her to stop. The Gosselins are way too old, every single one of them, for screaming.
I guess I can make an exception for bats.
P.S. I grew up on a farm, therefore the rooster for a pet. I love this blog....learn so much and always feel welcome even though I rarely post.

Admin, 85...I so agree about "We Need To Talk About Kevin". I want to thank the poster who recommended it here. That book scorched me. It took a few chapters to get used to her "verbose" writing style, but once I did the pages flowed into a story of maternal bonding (or lack thereof).
The book details complex emotions that you will think about long after you have read the last page.
I just bought "We need to talk about Kevin" for my Kindle. Am looking forward to reading it - the people here give really good recommendations I've discovered.

They haven't won anything, especially if everyone just ignores it. They want attention, and attention comes in people responding to those posts, shouting at us to clean things up (although that's cute I have to admit), asking tons of questions about it and this blog and what's going to happen and who are they and what am I doing about it, going on moderation, etc etc. ANYTHING that is any kind of response is attention.
Wow, it's like a person needs to set up residence on this blog so as not to miss all the hoopla! I'm gone for a few moments and that's when the mice come out to play. Oh well.

One caveat about Kevin, I found it started off quite slow. A lot of people on amazon complained about the same thing. I told another poster it could be awhile before I get through it. Three days later next thing I know I'm more than halfway through. It picks up like a freight train.

Doggie loves it as a little snack and because it's freezing overhere the birdpoop changed into poopsickles and she is even more happy, it's doggie paradise. Dogs are the sweetest but also kinda disgusting!

On the same subject, have you heard the medical news of transplanting feces from a donor into the system of a person suffering from really bad
intestinal issues (Crohn's, C Diff, etc.)? It has been shown to be amazingly effective, far more so than antibiotics they have been using.

So funny! My dog does that! Nothing is funnier than her running around whining with a busy bone in her mouth trying to find a place to bury it. If I'm sitting on the couch sometimes she'll come and shove it under my leg. I tell her I'll keep it "safe and sound". In fact, if she's running around and I say "safe and sound" she'll come and shove it next to my leg and I'll cover it up for her and she's happy. Reminds me of that insurance commercial where the dog puts his bone somewhere and they play "worry worry worry" and he gets up and moves it over and over. LOL Dogs rule!

ND knew about this story for several weeks and have been engineering the handling of it ever since. With all that time, that's the best they could come up with? The catfish defense?

Looks like the Manti Te'o news is the top story this morning. handinhand, looks like a catfish and smells like a catfish yet he could have made up the entire storyline. Regardless, Te'o embellished the story of the girlfriend's life & death in Sept. (supposedly , he met her in 2009 at the Stanford game).
Notre Dame did coverup the story, finding out Dec 26 and staying mum until yesterday. Shame on Te'o and Notre Dame! JMHO

Is it definite that Manti Te'o was involved in this mess? Was watching Mike and Mike on ESPN2 this morning and they weren't confirming that he was involved. The story was still being investigated. If true, this is another reason why celebrities, whether they are reality TV stars, athletes, actor/actress, musicians should not be idolized. No one knows what their personal life is really like. You only see the public persona that they want you to see.

I highly doubt Manti Te'o was duped and that this a a Catfish story. (I actually doubt Catfish too.)
This has to be about money. He, and his parents probably, thought he could gain more exposure by making all this up and winning the Heisman (which he came close to....),making him much more marketable in the NFL.
The story still doesn't make sense because he supposedly is a talented football player (or was he really?).
So if this Teo football player made up the dead girlfriend story, how would that fake story have benefited him? I don't understand why it matters if it was a hoax he was in on, or a hoax played on him.
Yes, I agree Tuckers mom, folds falling for a catfish may also be helping our the daughter of a deceased official of a war torn country, because they are trustworthy individuals. Some of those spam letters are just beyond belief, but some people fall for them.

Of course, we do not have all of the facts so I shouldn't say. But it is just too fishy.

If he was in on it, that means he cheated people out of their money (many people donated in his honor to funds supporting leukemia research) and sought sympathy from others. Plus, it would mean he flat-out lied, and cancer and death are nothing to lie about.
Of course, it is wonderful that donations went to leukemia research whether or not Manti was in on the hox, that is a great cause no matter what. I just meant that, it's not okay to lie knowing that people are giving their money to support your lie.

Re: Te'o....the whole ordeal which is just taking flight is disturbing. I mean, it was a huge media event especially when he played on the day of his 'girlfriend's funeral...the love of his life. BR549, American Horror Story is just amazing every week. Jessica Lange is absolutely mesmerizing. And the actress playing Pepper, WOW! And last nights events, well, every week there is something so surprising I am completely shocked. I loved the scene in the bookstore at the book reading.
How are they going to bring all of this to a resolution in one hour? What about the aliens, will we ever see them again? And what about....???

There was a sportscaster on Fox News today who said that he didn't believe that the sympathy vote played any part of it. He gave a list of reasons why, the timing, etc...I really wasn't play close attention, but he said that everyone is in the dark about this and until more facts are known, those close to the situation aren't even making a call as to who knew what and who was involved because it's such a convoluted situation.

I have had a couple experiences lately that made me think of Kate and what happens when you hand people everything. First, my friend's stepkids have a very wealthy stepdad. They are grown, but their mom has paid for everything their adult lives (their dad raised them). She now pays the rent for her 26-year-old daughter to live in midtown Manhattan and do nothing. This, after paying for both the kids' Ivy League educations. My friend was telling me over lunch about how the daughter came out for Christmas (on their dime), grumbled the entire time, showed off the new $1200 handbag she 'treated' herself to without a thought to bring a single small trinket or gift card for her dad and his wife, just on and on. Her own brother and dad find her intolerable. I told my friend this girl has no joy because she's been handed everything. She's so busy tallying up her loot that she doesn't know the pride that comes with doing things on your own and working for them. Or, God forbid, doing for others.
Then today, I was at the gym and always put on HGTV while I listen to heavy metal (haha). I watched 2 episodes of My House, Your Money. Have you seen this show? Again, pampered little princes/princesses having their mommy and daddy buy them a house. I could not hear the audio, but the body language was screaming. In the second epi, a grown-ass son was moving out of the parents' basement to shack up with his girlfriend and she had LOTS of opinions. Every time she opened her mouth about this house that she would be living in on someone else's dime, the dad would rub the mom's back and they would both take a deep breath and look down. Both episodes, the kids want the caliber of house their parents have - that their parents worked for and worked up to. And guess what? In both cases, they picked the most expensive/nice dwelling, even though the parents tried to steer them down. (Shame on their parents.) In fact, the first one was a condo and we've done both sides and I was thinking, "Wow, not only did she go over by $20,000, but she's going to have a monthly fee to live there!" But she got the granite countertops and Viking range! I ended up running an extra mile to catch the end of the second episode, and yep, they got the nicer house.
When you give someone everything, they appreciate nothing. And they become an endless, joyless pit that is never filled. My mom wouldn't even let me take my childhood bed when I moved out at 19. I think that's extreme, what was she going to do with a beat up old bed, but we appreciate what we have because we earned it.
Kate's going to have a long, lonely life of "I want, I want" and that's sad. She's setting her kids up for the same and it's not their fault.
have a great day all, I am off to take my friend's mom to lunch - her son committed suicide and the anniversary date is coming up and she's having some hard, hard days. That's what friends do - show up and listen and try to help, another thing Kate is missing.

Wouldn't he have spoken to someone (her family?) to request that it be held when there was no game and he could attend? When she was in the hospital, to whom did he speak about her condition? There are options on many accounts that will let you select a question, such as "what is your first school?" or "what is your favorite movie?" The poster said that she didn't select the name of her first pet as the question, and therefore, the provider wouldn't have that answer if she never selected that particular question.

When I pulled up Accuweather earlier, there was a big, bright, full sun showing the current conditions when, in fact, it was gray and dismal with full cloud cover. Since all of you have great advice and ideas on numerous subjects ( peeling of eggs, what kitchen gadgets to get etc.)I have also a question for you: So what is the deal with dogs and birdpoop? Doggie loves it as a little snack and because it's freezing overhere the birdpoop changed into poopsickles and she is even more happy, it's doggie paradise. Dogs are the sweetest but also kinda disgusting!

Be careful with her eating bird poop. One of my pups always made a beeline for the birdfeeder. I thought he was just picking up dropped seeds at the base, but nope. He picked up an intestinal parasite that they can usually only get from ingesting bird poop. I forget what it was as this was a while ago, but it wasn't one of the usual parasite suspects. I had to worm all three dogs. Ouch.
I've always suspected that dogs eat their own and other critter poop because they think the noises we make when they do extremely funny. Oooooh, gross!! Yuck!!!!

Some people believe that they are looking for extra food/nutrients, but as not all of my dogs have engaged in that delightful practice, just a couple, and they are all on the same high quality food, I think it is a behavioral problem. Or they think it tastes like doggie candy!

The pet's name question would not be one that I would choose. It would be my father's middle name, first school, etc. All this trouble started when I went blue with a koala bear. I was then thrown back to black which is fine. I just wish I knew where and how to get help to get my saved stuff back without having to pay some one in India $299 to do this. One of the great minds here may come up with a solution.

I appreciate this blog. I think it is well ran and safe. You can only do so much when you have a mentally ill individual trying to disrupt it.
Although it is completely and totally the admin's choice as to whether or not the blog goes back on moderation, respectfully I do not feel that that would mean the sheeple have "won".
They are apparently bored with their lives and crave attention. Putting the blog on moderation would just be refusing to give them this attention. Nobody's name and nobody's family members' names should be posted here - it's not the place for it and it makes others uncomfortable.
Sadly, the sheeple are not known for their sanity. I wouldn't go as far as to say that anyone is unsafe here, not at all. But I have seen one or two threatening, intimidating comments from sheeple that have really bothered me. They were swiffered, of course, but the fact that they were seen and read by posters -- the comments are so disgusting they don't even deserve that much, IMO.
Admin, I love this blog and respect however it is run, as long there is peace for the most part and we are enjoying nice conversations. I just feel that the sheeple define "winning" as shutting this blog down altogether, rather than it going on moderation. It was on moderation for a long time, correct? It was strong and went smoothly back then, too.
The truth is, the sheeple will never truly win, because they will never get the one thing they truly want: Kate back in the spotlight as a respected celebrity.

This is Admin's 'house' and we are her guests. She is free to make and enforce rules as she sees fit. If we like the way she runs her house, we're more likely to stick around and visit.
However, if Admin fails to lock the doors to her house and a few of her guests are harmed, then she has some choices to make.
She can tell everyone to ignore the offense.
She can tell people to 'laugh it off.'
She can tell us that the offense was no big deal. She can blame the victims for not protecting themselves from harm.
OR
She can learn to lock the doors when she knows the house will not be properly monitored.
It's her call and we, her guests, must decide how we feel about her call.

Loves To Read, I for one like having the blog off of moderation. I know that I am guilty of responding to these posters and now I see that that only makes them post more. I'm going to try to do what Admin suggested and just totally ignore their posts. Now this will be hard when my fingers may be itching to type a response to a nasty comment, but I'm going to try really hard!
I just can't get past how mentally ill this person is and how badly he/she needs help. One day he/she will self-destruct and seriously harm someone if he/she hasn't already.
With all due respect, Admin, this blog has lost several good members, including Jo and Bearswife. This is a problem that will not solve itself. It was upsetting, to say the least, to see personal information posted on a public blog for hours. I know that you can't monitor the blog 24/7 but please consider putting it on moderation, even temporarily. I am not being dramatic and I wouldn't be missed if I left but I will leave if the outting continues. As always IMO only.

You are very welcome. Just to clarify, when I said "ouch" it was because I had to worm my dogs with some super special expensive stuff from the vet because the regular pills didn't work on that parasite and it was zoonotic (did I spell that right?) I mean potentially transferrable to humans.
Having said that, your doggie is probably fine. However, if she starts losing weight then take a poop sample to the vet and have it checked out. I'm sorry. I wish I could remember the name of that nasty parasite but a quick google didn't bring it up. I'll try to ask on my next vet visit.
