Kate on local radio show Jackie and Scott

Listen to the full interview here. Kate dishes about the Chicago marathon and other upcoming running events, how eight kids are not allowed to each have their own schedule and have to stay shut away in their rooms in the morning with a video, how she's tapping out some books on her iPhone, and finally this guy .....

... her police escort to the station this morning! Currently on the Y102 roof with a sniper rifle.

Gosselin8 I agree. Many people were talking about it yesterday, really everyone was. Everyone seemed very moved and sincere. With the exception of Kate who was still farting rainbows by 3 o'clock, that is representative of how most people feel IMO.

I love how you don't want to be judged for not talking about it "with the ticket taker" and wax poetic about how people handle tragedy differently, then in the next breath criticize Kate for not discussing this on Twitter. Do you not see your complete hypocrisy?

Griftopia,
Like your husband, I also serve in the Navy. I am in the intel community.

Then I hope you'll agree, Butterfly, that while our current security measures offer some degree of safety for US citizens, for the most part, the government is a huge, uncoordinated dinasaur whose limbs are completely unaware of what the other limbs are doing. My husband (who is active duty) laughs at my conspriracy theories - as he is a firm believer that the government isn't capable of being that clever. Too big, too unorganized, and too dinasaur-ish (I leave you with the brain-size comparison for a start).

That said, I have to preface this comment with the caveat that I've been out of town for almost two weeks, and completely NOT caught up on comments. But the comments related to the recent theater shootings really hit a chord with me. I guess what I want to say is that nobody can say how any individual should/can/ought to mourn any terrible event. My mother died when I was in my early twenties, and I remember running an errand the next day to Walgreens (a chain drug store in the east -- not sure if it's national). I was completely shocked that the world was going on as usual. The check-out clerk handed me my change and wished me a good day, and all the while I wanted to scream at everyone, "MY MOTHER JUST DIED." But I learned a lesson that day. People experience tragedies every minute of every day. And yet the world goes on ... because that's how it's supposed to be. It doesn't make the loss meaningless just because the world moves on ... those aware of the loss mark it in their own way, and then they move on, too. People should not boycott a movie because some crazy SOB chose that particular venue to act out his particular brand of insanity. Yes, they should acknowledge the victims in their own personal way, whatever that may be, but they certainly shouldn't put their lives on hold because of some senseless act of violence. We lose loved ones every day -- some due to illnesses, and some due to senseless acts of violence. But at the end of the day, (as my dearly departed and very wise grandmother used to say) Life is for the Living. Yes, pay tribute to those who were lost, and, if you're so motivated, even work toward making sure such tragedies never happen again. But don't for a minute think that the world should stop because of a tragic event. My grandma would argue that we should go on IN SPITE OF IT.

Anonymous we're talking about how people are dealing with it differently, not about the few people like Kate who don't seem to be dealing with it AT ALL. How you can't see that is beyond me but keep on defending the relevant Kate Gosselin.

Someone on Twitter posted this photo of Kate during the Chicago run.

Look over to the left hand side of the photo.

Resemble anyone we thought was MIA?

Because someone doesn't discuss something on Twitter means they are not dealing with it AT ALL? How you cannot see how ridiculous that sounds is beyond me.

I'm not defending Kate Gosselin. I am pointing out that you are a blatant hypocrite for whining about being judged out of one side of your mouth while the other side is judging away. How you cannot see that is beyond me.

I don't know Kate and neither do you. Any examples I could provide would be from her television show, which would promptly be met with "oh, she just did that for the camera, yada, yada." I don't follow her Twitter religiously as you clearly do and am not about to waste my time looking for examples for you.

The bigger point is that I don't owe you examples because I wasn't talking about Kate, I was talking about you. What Kate Gosselin has or has not done does not change the fact that you are a hypocrite.

Why are you so obsessed with me anonymous? It's getting creepy. This is a Gosselin blog not a me blog.
