Jon in People

Jon gave an interview in People in which he talked about Kate, his kids, and his new job. In newsstands this week.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20605781,00.html

In other reality t.v. news, the latest reality show to exploit young children, Lifetime's Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, which features Bristol's three-year-old son predominantly, was a ratings flop. It barely broke 720,000 for the night. Bristol had no trouble helping the ratings when she was on Dancing With the Stars without her kid. Were there other factors involved, or are viewers finally sick of watching fame-whore mommies exploit their kids?

Why does no one want to watch Mommy exploit me?

Mandy - it's a parody from Barney's (?)song do your ears hang low. Moose Mania serenaded us with it one night.

Do your boobs hang low?
Do they woggle to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them o'er your shoulder
Like a bag that has a boulder?
Do your boobs hang low?

If she does I wonder how she looks without makeup?

Well, I'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt then and try to be patient til he gets his ducks in a row. Hopefully, his posting that he's not in this for profit means he'll put the book online somehow. We could have a Gosselin Book book club.

Ditto to that! Is Cara laughing? Just another example of how Kate fails to teach her chlldren to respect each other's wishes and boundaries concerning whether they want to be touched, give or receive affection. If she had to be held down then she must not have wanted to be touched. Way to go, Kate...who needs a tell-all when Kate demonstrates every day that she is a mean girl.

Just read Werny Gal's blog. It did clear up the mystery as to why US magazine was so relentless in it's quest to bring the Gosselins down--Al Walentis and Robert Hoffman were laid off from the Reading Eagle and went on to work for US.

As far as all of the people who have exploited the Gosselin family to advance their own career, WG is the most credible. Which isn't saying much...

Ms Kreider is boring so I want to talk about movies! We saw Moonrise Kingdom on Saturday, and it is great! On rotten Tomatoes dot com it has a 94% fresh rating. It is a fun, quirky movie about two kids on am island in 1965 who run away. There are lots of big name stars who have characters roles in this film. Ed Norton is the Khaki Scout leader, Bruce Willis is the island police, Bill Murray and Frances McDormand are parents of the girl. The two main kids are great, and there are lots of kids in the movie. Me, Dh, 18 yo dd and 75 yo friend male went and enjoyed it very much!
Today dh and the two dds and I went to see Brave. Again, very fun and I enjoyed it very much. We all liked it, I think I liked it the most. I cried a lot near the end. I think most moms might cry toward the end. Check it out!

JMO 2 I commented about her sagging boobs on one of my posts that got lost!
I use to watch Dr. 90210 on the E Channel about plastic surgery. This one doctor explained to this one woman who had small sagging boobs that if she would get
Implants they would be large sagging boobs! She first had to lift them and then put in the implants. The bad side to that was recovery would take longer and there would be significant scarring!

I think what happened to Kate she had small sagging boobs probably related to her pregnancies and when she had implants put in they became huge sagging boobs! Then add to that the weight loss, gain, loss takes a toll on the body!
And the running ( bounce bounce) probably doesn't help!

OT I think Cara is the one taking the pics ! It's not that difficult and that explains Why she's not in them and the proximity! Also remember the New York trip she seems to enjoy taking pictures and filming!

I'm up late taking care of my baby , my beagle, who had surgery this weekend but he needs TLC, no not that TLC, tender loving care! Night!

Bread machine - I don't have one, I make my bread with my hands. But how much work is it to measure ingredients into a machine and turn on the switch?

Slicing bread (especially warm bread, for the kids who sit and stare at the machine, waiting for the timer to ding!) is difficult if you don't have a good bread knife. Maybe she should grift for a good bread knife.

And, Khate, try using half whole wheat flour, half white flour in your recipe. Talk about YUM!

Nope, she definitely had a boob job.
Boob jobs won't stand at attention forever, especially if losing weight and running for miles on end. Eventually the skin HOLDING the new boobies in place is going to stretch.

Has anyone else noticed we are getting hammered with the message Kate's lawyers are stopping the publication of this book? That is not true. No injunction has been filed and there is no lid keeping this book from being published. But if you want to see how this tactic is used often to sell books go look up "The Family Corelone" (sp?) which is the Godfather series prequel. First it was being sued in February, then it gets released in May and both parties tell the judge they agree to splitting the proceeds from the sale..

Looks like Robert Hoffman has had his fill of the blogger fighting.

I went and looked at the photo of her grilling. She put on her Daisy Dukes for that photo! She isn't looking all that great. She has sunspots on her arms (I have those too) but I'm in my 50's and her boobs are definately going south. It is correct that with her weight loss the boobs are sagging. I predict she'll undergo the knife again. Can't help myself commenting about her looks since she thinks she is so smokin' hot. She actually looks nasty. Maybe guys (Steve) like the look? I wonder if Deanna's "man" stared at Kate's rear end trying to figure out if she was wearing undies?

Didn't she mention she had a Keratin treatment? As you wash your hair, the treatment becomes less effective. So that, combined with the Moroccan oil she said she uses, could be why. She's trying to prolong the treatment.

I use my bread machine a lot and a standard cycle takes three hours. So if she's claiming to have baked 8 loaves in a day, that's technically possible.

IF you don't allow the previous loaf a bit of time to cool in the pan (not advised), IF you load up the ingredients for the new loaf without waiting for the pan itself to cool (not advised), and IF you don't sleep for 24 hours.

In other words, she's a liar. Shocking, huh? ;)

And she really should look into wheat flour. All that white bread isn't good.

Catching up here. Very interesting info on the Gosselin Book author. So, it's Dana Hoffman's husband, hmmm. I wonder if it will even see the light of day. I just don't think it will reveal anything earth-shattering. Just my gut.
Earth-shattering would be actually getting laws enacted to protect kids from being ATMs for their parents, getting cameras out of their faces in their private moments and making sure there are independent advocates always there for them to protect hem while filming.
Just think of the moments of humiliation that would have saved the G kids. That, I could get worked up about. Kate's peccadilloes, boob work* (come on, they're floatation devices), botox and skin the color of a Thanksgiving turkey, not so much.
Although, I am always intrigued and endlessly entertained by her fans crapping their drawers and getting all-consumed with beating down Mr. Hoffman's yet-to-be-or-perhaps-will-never-be-released-"revealing" book.
Speaking of entertaining, has anyone seen the HBO show, Newsroom? Brilliant stuff. Classic Aaron Sorkin and a tour de force performance by Jeff Daniels and cast.
I haven't seen the likes of such witty repartee since The West Wing.
*I don't know what kind of boob work Kate's had done, but I think she skirts the issue and implies she's had no work done because perhaps she had fat transposed vs. implants for largeness. Of course anyone can see she's had augmentation done, but that one pap picture of her wearing a black halter top leaves no doubt she's had surgery. I mean, boom, there's the scar!

I'm wondering about the big twitter war she had with that photographer at the Red Cross event. Do you think he was in the know about the book (were he and Hoffman they not colleagues at some point?)and he was maybe taunting her at the event?

And maybe (just maybe) Hoffman wants "revenge" and wants to stick it to Kate for almost getting his wife fired at the beginning of all this drama. IIRC wasn't Dana disciplined and told to stop her blog about the Jon & Kate fraud? Vendetta? LOL

If Mr. Hoffman is concerned about attorney costs, he should have considered that before making his announcement about the book and consulted an attorney first as to whether Kate may sue. I suspect he took the manuscript to publishers who wanted to edit or not publish what could not be validated. Makes me think there are some salacious new claims in his book. It seems to me that Kate got her attorney involved to wear the guy down and not publish due to cost of attorney fees and put Godly fear in him about a lawsuit. The money she is spending on her attorney is chicken feed to her, so I am not so sure Mr. Hoffman will ever publish his book. He needs to find a reputable publisher to stand behind him. Then the book will carry more weight than something self-published.

Once again Kate wins, kids lose.

Nothing is chicken feed to her. She's cheap, remember? She may have money in the bank, but she's not going to spend it on anything other than material possessions for herself, and certainly not hand it over to attorneys. Of course, in this case if she wants to guard against any secrets, she may have to do just that. She wanted fame and celebrity status, but didn't think about the possibility that someone would do some digging and expose something that she may have hoped to keep private. She put herself and her kids out there, and now she may have to pay the piper (and without coupons).

Re: BLT sandwich, whoa way too much bread and thin filling! She really skimped on the fillings and how the heck are the children supposed to bite into that? The lettuce was the only thing that actually filled up the space between the slices. Now we know how Kate trained the children to eat ‘small’ meals by serving only half of a whole meal or even ¼ of a meal. That’s withholding food, technically. That’s why you always see her serve half of a fruit, half sandwich, a spoonful of scrambled eggs. Good grief! After years of eating like that, their stomachs must have been trained to get accommodated to small meals by now, therefore they will feel full sooner than normally. That’s how she knows they won’t be asking for seconds. Her tweets about 3rds and 4ths helpings of a bean dish a while ago is full of BS. More beans and cheese so everyone can fart all night? No thanks!

The stomach is a stretchy organ. It will stretch the more you eat to accommodate the extra food, therefore allowing you to eat more with no problem or shrink when you eat less and less. You can certainly train yourself to eat 5 small meals vs. 3 regular meals and not feel hungry either way. But children grow differently from adults and they are not built to live on a half sandwich for lunch! And no sides? Just like the tiny muffin and 1 slice of turkey bacon that she called a ‘hearty meal’. Blech! I don’t believe her claim they had a 100-calorie bar for the bus ride to school as they would have not be permitted to eat on the bus for sanitary reasons.

I do have to say that the fat-free, low-fat, whatever the heck food she is shoving in their mouths are not always healthier. They are often more sugary, more salty, have other undesirable fillings to make up for the lack of fat in the products. I check the labels l for how much sugar and salt a product has before I buy anything because of my family’s health needs. Read the ingredient list! The low-fat, free-fat product will often have a longer list of ingredients than the regular one. The first one in a ingredient list means it is the largest one and the rest of them are in descending order. So if you see a juice drink that starts with ‘water, sugar, juice…’ for example, that means product is mostly water. It should be juice first, not water. I once saw a box of pre-made cupcakes at Wal-Mart someone brought to work that listed sugar as the first ingredient! Oh my! Flour is the first ingredient, not sugar! A bit of research on food science wouldn’t hurt Kate when she has a weekend off. Do that instead of shopping or getting your skin tanned orange (man, she looks very orange sometimes). Go to the library or make an appointment with a nutritionist.

LB -- You are so right. And recent studies have shown that low fat/fat free isn't necessarily good for you. I don't mean you should go out and eat 100 gms. of fat a day or something, but nutritionists are now advising people NOT to use low fat or fat free dressings on their salads, because the vitamins and minerals in the veggies are mostly fat soluble. Without the fats in the dressing, most of the value of the veggies is lost. So KK is not only depriving herself of fats, she's losing vitamins and minerals in the process.'

I finally went over to Twitter and looked at the pix of the "BLT" and the one of her grilling. If that's an example of the "sandwiches" she foists off on the kids, no wonder they didn't like them. A BLT should be stacked with tomatoes and have at least a little more "B" in it. With the one she showed, I doubt the kids could even taste the bacon. She might as well just hand the kids a hunk of dry bread and be done with it. It would be about as tasty.

Lol.... But to take it one step further, don't invent a fake persona and compulsively lie to insist you are the fake person you pretend to be.

She has been hiding behind confidentiality agreements and lawyers for way too damn long now. She insists on this fake, glamorous, doting mother of eight persona... happy go lucky Kate who fixes the chicken coop and a week's worth of homemade organic meals on a Wednesday and is walking a red carpet that weekend. When in reality, it has been very loudly whispered for years that she is (all allegedly) a drinker, a smoker, a neglectful parent and harsh disciplinarian, someone who is so cheap, she would notice a penny on the side of the highway doing 85 and stop to pick it up, a homewrecker who is dating her bodyguard and a dreadfully mean person who belittles and degrades people whom she believes are underlings to her.

There are times when it's necessary for a child to have braces early. I know of a child who had them in second grade because he had a misaligned bite and the correction needed to begin before the condition became worse and bone growth was completed. Only some of the permanent teeth had come in. But in Kate's case, I agree with you about the grooming. Witch is putting it mildly :)

Regarding an injunction against the book - That is true. Hoffman only said he'd received a C&D letter and was double checking the legality of the threats stated in that letter before preceding.

Someone earlier made the comment that they want his book to be published because they want the world to know the truth about Kate Gosselin.

Here was my thought - Even if Hoffman publishes the book, either by himself or through a publishing house, really and truly who is going to read it? Those of us who are still invested in the story. Her detractors (us) already know this stuff or have suspected it and so no big surprise for us. Her fans will rail against it and call it a pack of lies.

The rest of the world will likely ignore it, if they're even aware it's been published.

I understand how cathartic it might be for some people to see Kate finally called out by Joe Public for all her lies but I think it's time to admit that that public scourging isn't going to happen. There will never be any Us Weekly or People Magazine covers blaring "Kate Gosselin: Her Life Was A Lie".

IMO, the kids, or most of them, will eventually realize what their mom cheated them out of and will hold her accountable. That does not make me happy. Far from it, actually. I would never wish that on a child. This whole situation is a modern day tragedy and it is just sad, plain and simple. Kate's day of reckoning will happen but it will be private and will involve her children staring into her face, listening in disbelief to her excuses and lies and then shaking their heads and walking away.

And what is even more sad?

Kate will sit there, putting the blame on her children who just don't appreciate what she gave them and muttering to herself "Everyone always leaves me."

Cutco knives may be expensive but that doesn't make them "the best". They are stamped knives, not forged. Most professional chefs and knife experts will tell you that forged knives are the better quality knife for a variety of reason that you can google if you wish.

If you like Cutco, fine. I suggest you buy them on eBay rather than directly through the company. You will save more money that way. But I respectfully disagree with the assessment that they are the cream of the crop in the cooking world.

Kate’s Tips to Saving on Laundry
Posted on June 25th, 2012 by Kate G

As I just finished putting in yet another load of laundry, I thought I’d discuss my ways of saving as much as I can on the many loads of laundry I do each week for a family of nine.

As with anything else, I watch for sales on laundry detergent. Ever since my kids were little, I’ve used the “free and clear” brands of laundry detergent and dryer sheets to help with wintertime sensitivities and eczema. Since fragrance-free types are a requirement in our house, it limits my ability, to a degree, to save where laundry is concerned. However, as always, I do use coupons and watch for sales. I also buy my laundry products in bulk sizes so the price per ounce is decreased significantly.

I use only as much detergent as necessary and pay close attention to the load size and the amount of detergent that is recommended by the manufacturer. Beyond the purchase of the necessary products, though, I also save in other ways:

I only run full loads. I wash loads on cold water, therefore maximizing the load size because I can wash all colors together.

Each person ( or age group of people as in our case) has one load of laundry run each week. I don’t do “special item” or single item washes if a certain article of clothing is desired (think pre-teens!).

We reuse towels and other items in a sanitary way.

I don’t use all the newest and greatest stain-removing items. I like old fashioned bleach and my OxiClean spray, which I add to bolster my detergent when necessary. Less is more in the case of stain removers, in my opinion. If nothing else, buying less of them is saving me more!

I also have six or more drying racks and use them often instead of the dryer or the dry cleaner, which saves me a lot!

Overall, I probably run 8 to 10 standard large loads of laundry each week on a schedule, which is key to savings. Because I am organized and do laundry on a set schedule, I am saving money on detergent, dryer sheets, water, electricity and my time, which is right up there with saving money in my book!

True, Jane. I believe in Kate's case it's all about appearance. Perfect children, perfect smiles. She is obsessed with her appearance and weight, and she is passing that on to her children. What a mess these kids are gonna be!

I have to say I am sick and tired of " we have to protect the kids" mantra as to why more insiders don't come out. It's TOO LATE already. Everything is out there on the web. That horse has left the barn so to speak. Their mother is a whack job and it is unfolding everyday, for years. She may not be on the scale of Jerry Sandusky, but those kids are being psychologically abused and stupid family is just letting it happen. For Jon to say Kate is a good mother makes me want to puke. There. I feel better now.

So true. Guess Kate never heard of HIPAA. Her kids do have the right to privacy when it comes to medical needs/records.

But Kate needs to bitch and moan about the costs, at the expense of her kids, who earned the money in the first place. She is/was nothing without them. And she knows it.

The show about Mady's teeth made me cringe- it showed her in a bad light both behaviorally-speaking as well as the condition of her teeth and hygiene, especially with all the comparisons to Cara (& Jon's work, brushing everyone's teeth) Kate must have ruined the kids' their enamel the way she scrubbed them in the kitchen- probably used Ajax cleanser. And Alexis in the chair, oh my! How humiliating for the child. Plus mentioning various kids' cavities/brushing problems.

Dear Coupon Cabin,

How is a regurgitated column on laundry tips relevant to your brand? Are there links to actual coupons for laundry related products? "Reuse towels in a sanitary way"? WTF does that even mean? Perhaps your columnist could explain her own laundry process about hiring a 'laundry girl' to do said laundry, and how that saves anything.

Sincerely,

Summerwind, if you were a celebrity and someone came at you claiming they could show you fooled the world, would you let them count down the release date and then sit back watching them blog about their name, relationship to employers and to your ex-husband? Of course not. You would shut them down with an injunction and a publications ban. I know that didn't happen because nobody reported on it, court matters are in the public domain and the media track these.
What did happen is a lawyer sent him an email that essentially is saying 'fool, this is how easy it is to track people on the internet, you can't make money off my client but should you try beware that we intend to pursue any copyright infringements, libel, etc. See you in court, pal'.
Kate is not worried, she is letting this guy blog away, assured the media won't touch this story until she wants them to touch it. And that will happen when she posts someone's comment about it to her on twitter so she can reply. Then and only then will you see ROL and tabloid company reporting this story. ROL had no qualms reporting a anonymous creepy stalker, but they won't be giving Hoffman any press.

I think she's talking about electric usage. Our electric usage is based on peak times. In the summer, it costs more between the hours of 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. If you do the laundry, run the dishwasher, shower, baking, etc. between those times, it will be more expensive. She just lumped the products into that, which of course makes no sense whatsoever.

Anonymous said...

In the area where I live our hydro useage is based on "Time-Of-Use" rates which helps manage our electric bill.

It is based on three levels of price - the lowest, mid-price and highest. We have managed to alter our bill by using our major appliances during the lowest price period (in summer, from 7pm until 7am during the week and anytime on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).

It takes a little getting used to but by using the washer, dryer, dishwasher and vacuum during the off-peak periods, we are saving on electricity bills and hopefully avoiding power outages during the daytime hours when overall hydro consumption is at its highest peak.

Once a Viewer 53 -- Alexis' freakout in the dental chair was one of the things that really soured me on KK. She dithered around and did nothing to try to soothe and reassure her child for the longest time. Jon couldn't help -- he was in the other room keeping a watch on the other kids. It took her forever to finally go get the child's blankie. This was one incident that really pointed up the difference between KK's parenting and the Hayes family from Table For Twelve. One of their kids freaked out in the dentist's chair too. Eric promptly climbed into the chair and held his son reassuringly. That was GOOD parenting.

Dmasy, I'm guessing she means she does not do "on demand" laundry, in other words, too bad if you need that special pair of pants for that function, a full load will be done when I say it will! koopdedoo said...

Dmasy #63 - I don't know about Khate's utility company, but, yes, my electricity costs differently based on a biannual (summer/winter) daily/weekly schedule. Sorry, I'd rather feel human than save the few pennies that I might actually save.

I cringe at the thought of her washing everything together! If she truly does that, when does she use bleach?

Again, WHAT AN IDIOT SHE IS. And why would Coupon Cabin want to be associated with this?

AuntieAnn said...

I guess because Kate didn't hesitate to show her "jowls of a dog" belly on tv and her visit inside the plastic surgeon's office (the crew was probably aghast at what they were seeing), she thinks it's okay to tweet about her kids' braces or show Mady's teeth and the tups squirming and screaming in the dentist chair while she looks on with a sneering grin on her face. Hell, she was showing pics of her babies on tv while they were still inside her womb (the sonogram), their first bowel movement in a potty chair and countless other personal moments so why would she ever stop now? What was I thinking?

I hate what she's done to those kids. Last night on ET they talked again about how Julia Roberts got back into her SUV and chased down the paparazzi for showing up at her kids' school. That's what real mothers do. Whether they're a celebrity or not, they protect their children, their lives and their privacy should be guarded not sold as means to make a living.

Speaking of laundry I'll jump off my soap box now and go do a load of towels in really HOT water like I always do. Screw the cost.

"I understand how cathartic it might be for some people to see Kate finally called out by Joe Public for all her lies but I think it's time to admit that that public scourging isn't going to happen.

Kate will sit there, putting the blame on her children who just don't appreciate what she gave them and muttering to herself "Everyone always leaves me." "

Exactly what I think Silimom. I'm not implying the book shouldn't be published, it most certainly should. I just don't think it's going to have the "impact" some people think it will.

It's not going to make any best seller list and honestly, based on Mr. Hoffman's writing skills, which he admits are lacking and not his forte, I believe it may in fact be difficult to read.

800 pages of spelling and grammatical errors can really put some people off. Even the sheer size may be enough to deter some potential readers.

Nonetheless, I do still think it should be out there for the kids' sake. It's been said, and I agree, that it may very well provide the children some much needed validation when they are adults trying to make sense of their childhoods'.

It has been well researched that children who are abused deal with it much better if they have validation and support. Kids whose abusers deny the abuse or even downplay it, suffer much longer and have much deeper psychological issues.

Despite not knowing what goes on behind closed doors, there's enough film footage proving that they have been abused. Exploiting your children for wealth and fame all by itself is abuse enough and we all know that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I personally commend Mr. Hoffman for his determination to tell the truth about what he's seen and experienced.

And the special item wash? Dang, Kate, as many kids as you have, there should be several special items you could throw in the wash, if someone wanted something washed quickly.

All my kids do tennis (yr round), and I do 6-8 loads of laundry in an over-sized washer DAILY..(that includes towels though).

I bet Kate gets her special laundry done, though, if she needs it.

I also don't believe for one second she does any laundry or housework. She has paid help for that. Her hands and nails would suffer the consequences.

..and if she only does that little bit of laundry a week, why does she need TWO super size washer/dryer sets?
Everything she's been given, has been for nothing. None of it will be used to its full capacity (well, except for her coffee makers)

Well, Kate may be counting using both washers at the same time as one load, which would mean she's actually doing 16-20 loads of laundry a week.

I easily do 10+ loads a week for my family and there are 5 of us. If I don't do a load a day (wash, dry, fold, put away) it backs up VERY quickly (like right now!). And I too have a HE washer and dryer.

One word of advice to Kate on saving money - You can do away with dryer sheets altogether and just use white vinegar in the softener compartment of your washer. Does just as good a job at softening clothes and I get a 128 fl.oz jug of white vinegar for $4.39 at my local Safeway (That's $0.03 per fl.oz). If you want to be even cheaper, buy it at the Dollar Store or Costco (I think they're called Sam's Clubs out in PA? Not sure). Not sure what size they come in, but the 128 fl.oz lasts me a good while.

I'm not sure I understand. It sounds like she washes everything for each child in cold (all colors and whites) and adds bleach as needed. But things like underwear need to be sanitized every time they are washed. So does she add bleach, or not? In order to kill germs, you need a certain ratio of bleach to water...wouldn't that fade or ruin the colored items?

It sounds like she is just being lazy by not sorting her laundry appropriately. Why not wash all the undergarments together in one load for several kids? I think she just doesn't want to sort after the load comes out.

With regard to the braces. I had braces in the early to mid seventies and my daughters were in braces in the late nineties. All three of us had the same appliance placed in the roof of our mouths to correct our bites before we had braces put on. My oldest daughter and I had a cross bite and my youngest daughter had my husband's under bite. The appliance was attached by braces to your back molars. My mom would insert a small pin into a hole in the appliance and turn it once a day. I had to do the same thing to my daughters. I can't remember how long it was in place but it was removed before the braces were applied. I was a teenager before the appliance or the braces were put on and all my permanent teeth were in place. My daughters had their appliances put on when they were in third grade. Again, I can't remember how long they were in place. However, neither one of them went into braces until they were in high school. From what I can remember from my orthodontist and my kids orthodontist, the appliance is what corrects the bite and the braces straighten the teeth.

I thought of how when I was that age I only liked a certain few outfits. My mother showed me how to use the washing machine and I ended up doing my own laundry as part of my chores.

It sounds like your pre-teens are not allowed to use the washer & dryer, you instead leave them at your mercy to do laundry on a strict regimented schedule, despite any needs that may pop up in between. Thank goodness they have uniforms for school. I can't imagine what it would be like for them to wear regular clothes and have a stingy, skinflint, one load of laundry a week mother like you.

I've always tried to run my dryer and washers (clothes and dish) at night, but I do it because any heat the dryer puts out in the summer is better absorbed by my cooling system in the cooler overnight hours. LB -- Due to asthma/allergies, I need dye free/fragrance free laundry soap. Likely what KK means is that the cheaper, off brand detergents don't have a fragrance free/dye free variety, so she's limited to brand names.

I don't know how KK manages to do only 8 or 9 loads of laundry a week for a family of 9. There's only me at home (plus cat)and I do 2 - 3 loads a week. Of course, I don't wash everything together in cold water. Underwear, towels & sheets, the cat's bedding -- all get washed in hot water. Clothing gets sorted into light/dark piles and washed in cold. Red things, which always seem to bleed no matter how many times they're washed, usually get washed by hand. My electric co-op has peak/off-peak hours usually only in the summertime, when everyone is running the A/C. Then I just toss a load in before I go to bed and it's ready for the dryer when I get up in the morning.

Silimom -- white vinegar is a great deodorizer, too. If you have a smelly load, add a cup of it to the wash water. Works great, especially for pet bedding.

For someone who screams she's "organic" -- I don't think those dryer sheets would be considered organic. In fact, some say they are toxic/carcinogenic. They also can do damage to the dryer.

Also as a coupon blogger "extraordinaire" shouldn't she be talking about watching prices on different sizes of items. For instance, just because something is super-sized or purchased at a warehouse club does not make it the best deal. To be a savvy shopper, she should be figuring out the cost per ounce on detergent, not 'assuming' super-size is the way to go.

Second, her latest blog. She sounded like a complete fool talking about something she knows nothing about. She has had someone doing laundry for her for so long that she doesn't even know that you separate darks and lights. If she is doing the laundry now instead of the laundry girl she is probably ruining a lot of clothes. You can't throw bleach in with colored clothes and expect them not to fade or worse have bleach spots. If people go to that blog for coupons and help saving money how does what she write help them? It is all a bunch of gibberish. I wish someone would pay me to write that crap.

Gawd! Do you guys remember the picture she took after the RV trip of all the dirty laundry dumped on the floor of the laundry room? I bet her "laundry girl" really appreciated that! And why so much laundry? Didn't they go to the laundromat on that trip or was that just a setup courtesy of the Figure 8 producer? She is so full of bull.

Didn't she mention she had a Keratin treatment? As you wash your hair, the treatment becomes less effective. So that, combined with the Moroccan oil she said she uses, could be why. She's trying to prolong the treatment.
---------------------------
Kate was getting those treatments, I don't know if she still is. I get those treatments, too and you use sulfate free shampoo to preserve the treatment and you don't need to wash your hair as often, only 3-4 times a week w/shampoo is necessary. I work out, so I just rinse w/water and blow dry- no problem. Maybe that's what Kate meant when she says she doesn't wash everyday, she rinses.

White vinegar just went on my shopping list! New tip of the day that sounds awesome to me.

There are two adults, 3 pets and multiple visitors in our home. I do laundry EVERY day. Usually two loads because I sort. I could never let my gardening clothes or hubby's farming clothes wait a week. They would grow legs and walk to the washer by themselves!

Kate is full of silliness. A kid/a load a week -- no way. That laundry room would reek. And, stains would set.

I agree with everyone who commented that she is not doing the laundry herself. She thinks what she wrote sounds good. Wrong!

Pity Party said...

A set schedule? I am thinking that must coincide with the laundry girl's schedule. If she has a laundry "girl" on a set schedule and doesn't wash on demand then she is basically saying, ok, you got me - I don't really do laundry, so I don't know what I am even talking about but, hey, who cares? It's just a penny ante coupon blog, but TLC, that's another story. Let me tell you those were the days.

The many, many loads turns out to be 8 to 9 loads a week. That is very average for just about any household, including mine, and I only have one child. But I wash small loads because they get cleaner and have less wear and tear, from being beaten in the washer. When I dry a small load it takes less time and they are virtually wrinkle free and takes only a couple minutes to put them away. And does not cost anymore because the dryer is not running as long, and I am still using the same amount of detergent, because I am using less.

Didn't she already do some crazy dissertation on laundry that could have well been taken from pages of a comic book?

Oh the comments on vinegar in the laundry - BEST TIP EVER!!
You will have the freshest load of laundry of your life!
I discovered it when I needed to get the urine smell out of my sweet pup's bedding. Now I use it in a spray bottle and I spray the couch, my car, her little area, the carpet- AND I read to leave a little bowl of vinegar out in your living room and it acts as a deodorizer- yes! it does! The stuff is great. Highly recommended :)

LancasterCountyMom...I forgot about her having her fancy roof jewelry! That should cut down on her utility costs.

Kate's a real cheapskate, isn't she.
There's no way she runs so few loads a week. I can't imagine making kids wear clothes until they are noticeably dirty. I bet Kate puts on fresh clothes every day. And washing lines every two weeks, uh, YUK.

Why would Kate use drying racks when you could install a clothesline? She has the acreage for it. I believe there was one episode that showed mounds of dirty laundry on the floor, it was quite the mess.
Kate has no idea what it means to be truly organic, or green for that matter.
What a tool she is, lol.

How I save money doing Laundry, by Kate G. "Before Jon and I got rich pimping our children awn tv I made him take our laundry to the laundry mat on his way to work, and he stayed late after work to make sure it was fully dry. I mapped out his day with a apreadsheet ensuring he knew where to be when, and I even packed healthy snacks so he wouldn't waste our money in the vending machines. Today I am too busy being a celebrity to do the laundry, but my hired laundry girl has a similar spreadsheet of tasks showing her how I want the laundry done. I figure since I am paying her minimum wage I should keep her busy. So I don't allow her to use the washers and dryers. Instead, I have her in the basement hand washing our clothes over an antique washer board that I picked up at a New York street antique fair for only $85! Then I printed off a recipe awn the internet on how to make old fashioned soap, with lye and ashes. This doubles my savings of course because now the laundry girl is doing the chimney sweep's job, so more things in my house are getting clean for less money!!! To further reduce my energy costs I have her hang the clothes outside on a line Steve erected at the back of our property, far from the paps eyes. On rainy days she is permitted to hang the wash on racks in the basement, but I frown on her not being organized enough to monitor the weather situation, and give my children sun kissed bed sheets. Oh, did I mention this is only for the kids clothes and bedding and towels? I have a Chinese girl in the basement hand washing my delicates in the basement with organic lavandar scented product imported from France, it costs more but it leaves my undies sooooo silky and Steve is allergic to teatree oil. Oh wait, I do let the Chinese girl put my bedding and stuff through my high efficiency washers and dryers, and they pretty much run 24-7 because it is just exhausting for me to wait for an outfit to be dry and ready for me to wear. And I don't like my clothes to touch, cause that is gross, so she has to wash my tops separate from my bottoms and my sheets separate from my pillow cases. But I DO save money because if I like went through a standard employment agency that required me to pay like benefits and overtime, like there would be no point in blogging about saving money. So there you go coupon cabin boys and girls, make me look smart and beautiful!! PS Seems the laundry girl will quit if I don't accept your generous offer of a case of Tide, so whatever, send it along, I am so tired of people quitting on me in life.

I use fragrance free laundry soap for somethings and I can tell you they cost the same as regular so I have no idea what she is saying probably just trying to do some grifting

NJGal51 said...

A couple of points on Kate’s latest missive…
Tide and Bounty “free and clear” cost the same as the ones that have fragrance additives. I know because I use the “free and clear” in whatever brand I buy. There are only two of us and I do at least 4-5 loads a week. Crap, I guess we’re dirtier than 8 kids!

She said she uses on as much detergent as necessary and pays close attention to the amount of detergent that is recommended by the manufacturer. I guess no one has ever told her that you can use half the amount that the manufacturer recommends and still get your clothes just as clean. The more you use the more you buy. You can also use a little baking soda in the wash to boost the detergent. In fact, if you want to get all the manufacturers treatments and chemicals out of new clothes (especially new jeans) once the clothes/detergent are in and the washer has filled add some baking soda and white vinegar. Yes it will foam a little but it will remove all the crap and help to soften the jeans to boot.

Cold water is fine for some things but I do like to use hot/warm for others. And her statement “We reuse towels and other items in a sanitary way”, just WTF does that even mean? Does that mean that if you turn your panties inside out your resuing them in a sanitary way? I guess I now know that if I use a washcloth to wipe the bulldogs butt (yes, sometimes it is required) I shouldn’t use it on myself because that would be unsanitary. Thank you Kate for that tip!

Finally, I do use stain removers because bleach just doesn’t cut it on some clothes and if you use bleach full strength - even just to dab it on - it can cause tiny holes in the fabric. Constant use of bleach will shorten the life of the garment.

Finally, finally...because she’s organized and does laundry on a set schedule, she saves money on detergent, dryer sheets, water, electricity and her time. What?????? I do my laundry on a set schedule because I work. It takes me the same amount of time and effort to do it and I use the same amount of detergent, dryer sheets, water and electricity no matter when I do it. I may save a little on the electric bill if I do it before peak time on Sunday. And I do special loads all the time, especially after I've spilled a cup of coffee down the front of me. I go around the house and scrounge up whatever else may need washing AND I adjust the water level for the amount I'm washing.

Yea, in her money-saving blog Kate should have advised to have roof jewelry installed to cut utility costs...

Admin wrote about this the other day..it's hard to take a millionaire's advice on how to save a few cents on gas when she has 3 vehicles, has her hair done in NYC, jets around for marathons, has a personal bodyguard, eating organic, has 4 freezers,a salt water pool, 2 dishwashers, 2 washer/dryer sets, a 6200 sq foot house with acreage, kids in private school,so many pairs of expensive shoes she needs two closets, expensive purses and sun glasses, large wardrobe, all while not being employed. And then she wants to tell us how she scrimps so she can save money on 150. dollar running shoes...yet, she can't afford gymnastics, going to the movies, or 3d glasses.
......and this chick is unemployed, at that. go figure. Why her fans give her any credibility is beyond me.

About laundry: I just have this to say regarding Kate's newest blog... Yeah, right! I raised three children and would consider a week with 10 loads a LIGHT week. Of course, I like to wash sheets every week because it's the sanitary way, so I suppose she could reduce her number of weekly loads in that way, but I still call foul. I think she still has a laundry girl. She doesn't have a clue.

Just a note about fragrance free laundry soap. While unscented is an improvement over scented, the chemicals used to make detergent have their own smells, and other chemicals are used to remove them,, so you are still exposing your skin to harmful substances. At various times during their lives, my kids were sensitive to different detergents, including fragrance free. Unless you go completely organic, there is little you can do about that.

Moose - thanks for the vinegar tip! I had no idea you could use it to clean stainless steel. I just HAD to get SS appliances in our kitchen when we built our house. Boy are they hard to keep clean! Yesterday hubby and I went to a Parade of Homes thing, and most of the houses had SS appliances, but one house had really cool black appliances. I've never seen anything like them - they were a shiny black, and they didn't smudge. (I know because I stood there and rubbed my finger all over the fridge. hee hee).
Vinegar for the laundry is great. I remember washing some sheets after one of my kids had a pee-pee accident, and the smell was still there. Another wash with vinegar took the smell right out!

As for the list of great products might I suggest the new Dawn with Olay. Saves money as will cut down on lotion:). I have been looking at it because I hate the way my hands feel after washing dishes. It promised to make a noticeable difference in the softness of your hands after a week. I would think yeah that is what they said about Palmolive (you're soaking in it now). Well they were wrong about in a week because I felt a noticeable improvement in my hands on the first day, and it just gets better. I got another bottle for the bathroom sink for hand washing, and costs essentially the same as the regular Dawn but has better suds and therefore goes further.

I have added vinegar to my list as well. Thanks ladies!

More with the laundry. Sigh. Eight loads a week? And how is that enough to make her complain and carry on about how exhaustednyishes she is all the time? And do her children smell greasy, musty, and of underarm odor? How do 9 people reuse towels in a sanitary way? Save one corner for your face and another corner of the towel for your bottom?

Well, at least she didnt ramble on and on this time about sorting it here, moving it there, resorting it this way, shifting it around, and in the end just shoving everything one kid owns into the machine anywhichway.

I dont think she does laundry YET which is why she cant comment on it with any comprehension. And the other thing that comes out loud and clear: she has no interest what-so-ever in saving a single nickel doing laundry so she is just throwing some little made-up tidbit about that in her post as well. All that matters to her is that her children's dirty laundry inconveniences her as little as possible, and any amount of money spent that eases Kate is well worth it.

This is one of those times where I really feel sorry for her mental illness. She honestly thinks that someone shoving Joel's laundry in a machine once a week is quite the effort and accomplishment for HER as a mother. She honestly does. What kind of non-existant example was set for this girl?

She must ration out their limit of clean clothes they are allowed to access too, in order to keep that cap on only one load of dirty per week; and there must be penalty of severeness if a child changes a shirt without her express screeching consent.

Didn't kate do a blog on laundry a while ago?

Silimom: best knives are the ones I got at the Dollar store, 4 steak knives, small serate, with black plastic handle, can cut steak or any meat, and can cut a tomatoe paper thin, and anything else paper thin.

Since I am by myself, I do laundry, when I run out of underwear, which is about, 3 weeks. I do hot water for underwear and bras, hot water for towels, and everything else in cold. I just did 5 loads today, while I was weeding the yard and fence. I used the dryer to dry my tops, and a few towels and a pair of pants, the rest I hung in the basement. My machine has different water levels, from small to super large. Kate is full of it.

And what is this, we reuse towels in a sanitary way? TWH!What is that suppose to mean? What does Kate do, spray the towels with spray disinfectant? or does she put them in the dryer on super heat, to dry and disinfect? It would be easier to wash them, I can't imagine using a towel someone else may have wiped their but on or dryed their feet on. Yuck!Gross!

More vinegar tips -- If your pet is really smelly for some reason (NOT skunk smelly, just stinky) a vinegar rinse will help deodorize him/her. Just make sure you rinse them thoroughly. I had a stud cat who reeked at times. I always added vinegar to his show baths and it took care of the odor. It's also a good rinse for your hair. It cuts any left-over soap scum (especially if you have hard water) and leaves it soft and shiny. Also, if you have red highlights in your hair, the vinegar will bring them out, just like lemon juice will bring out blonde lights.

jl dent -- Thanks for the Target tip. We don't have a Target in my small town, but the next time I'm in the "big city", I'll check them out for store brand fragrance free laundry soap. I haven't been able to find anything but name brands so far. I usually wind up buying All Free and Clear.

Wonder not. The answer's NO.

(Is she pulling our leg, or does she really believe this is possible?)

******

I don't think she's playing, I think she really does believe that. She's weaved herself a great little "reality" here. Why shouldn't her family compare to the still famous Von Trapps?

The scary part is she's right. That's exactly what's going to happen.

People now google the Dionne's, the Loud family and countless other other what-ever-happened-to victims of massively produced and heavily marketed exploitation.

The Gosselins are a case study in the fields of sociology and psychology influenced by our instant communication technology. Riveting stuff.

TLC is the modern 'Barnum and Bailey' and Kate Plus 8 was merely an exhibit. They've moved on, most of the world has moved on but Kate has clearly not.

For better or for worse, as long as she keeps holding on to fame by her fingernails, there will be people watching.

I think that's exactly what she's counting on.

Does anyone believe she had eight kids because she loves children?

Mr. S. would be wise to stay in isolation. It's a self-protective maneuver that most con's already know. Remember the priest that went to jail and was taken out on the first day (I think). Better food? Good luck with that. It's not a 5-star hotel, buddy.

Remember when Nana Janet came to voluntarily do the folding, when J&K were being paid 22,000 per episode. KT saved up all the laundry, from no telling how many days and Nana sat there and folded for hours on end and the baskets just kept coming. KT would sit there and chat mostly to the camera and never folded even one piece when Nana would be way behind. Back before the day when KT made me sick, I used to love the way the kids would run to Nana and say Nana's home. They did that to just about everyone one who came by.

I wonder if the laundry girl is the ironing girl, too. Was Nana Janet the ironing lady? She had a place to leave all the ironing. When she sent M&C to get the clothes for Jon to dress all six kids by himself in the LR the little dresses would be freshly ironed and crisp. One of those little touches you just remember.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I thought by "sanitary" she meant that each child has his/her own towel (maybe monogrammed) so that one child doesn't dry his or her face on a towel that was previously used to dry another child's butt.

When I last used vinegar to clean with, it attracted hundreds of fruit flies. Did I use the wrong kind maybe?

What kind did you use? Apple cider?

Don't get me started on sharing towels! Ugh! I will never forget as a young bride when my in-laws came to visit us from out of town for the first time. I had the house sparkling clean and a clean set of towels for each visitor (MIL, FIL, and 2 younger SILs). Three days into their visit I was horrified to find only 2 sets of towels had been used. They were sharing towels, and thought nothing of it. Aaack! I asked my MIL, how do you know that the part you dry your face with didn't just dry someone else's ass? That had never occurred to her I guess. She thinks dogs and cats are disgusting, but she doesn't think sharing a towel is disgusting. Go figure.

Papa took the boys fishing after dinner; it's their time learning from Papa and hearing his stories of fishing with his dad and grandfather. I packed them up some drinks and snacks and now I have a couple hours to myself.

I've read skimmed through the comments and can't believe Kate's CC blog is about doing laundry. She talked about 8-10 loads a week and that tells me she doesn't really do the laundry because she is guessing at those numbers.

The hubs and I have 4 loads a week, plus the bed linens. So her number for 9 people doesn't jive unless she truly doesn't let the kids put on clean clothes every day or use clean towels every day.

I have 2 questions for Kate: does she wear her clothes for multiple days? I doubt it.

Also, how do you reuse towels in a sanitary fashion? Every day we use clean towels for the shower and every other day, I hang up new hand towels. How do 9 people keep reusing towels?

With all of the talk of vinegar tips, I happen to have a great one for those of you with dogs for pets. I have a small 2 pound Yorkie who is my third child. Recently she had been to the vet twice in 6 months with urinary tract infections. After spending almost $200 on antibiotics and then her coming down with a third infection I did some research and found that adding 1/2 tsp. apple cider vinegar to her food her infection cleared up in 3 days. I now put 1/2 tsp in her food twice weekly and she has had no further infections. For larger dogs the amount should be increased accordingly.

Let's Throw Tomatoes - Long time reader but a rare commenter here, and a huge animal lover! My hairy little guy got his first hot spot ever last summer. I tried my best not to have to use a cone, but couldn't get Tucker to leave the area alone. Both myself and Tucker hated the cone. He could hardly see, eat, play or do anything easily. I found an inflatable dog collar at PetSmart. It looks like an inflatable blue donut and was a lifesaver. He could do everything normally except chew on himself! You may have already heard about these by now, but I had to tell you just in case you hadn't. They come in several sizes. Tucker is five pounds and wears a size small. Good luck! Hope he heals up quickly!

I love to hear about everyone's pets. And since I'm here, I must brag on mine like I would our daughter :-) Tucker is an eight year old yorkshire terrier. He is a terrier through and through, and as we say in the south, he's full of "spit & vinegar"! Being a shy person, I've always gravitated to and reveled in the company of any animal I could get a hold of. I trained and complete with Tucker in Rally Obedience. I didn't do it for the titles, but to give Tucker and I something fun to do together. He loves it, although you folks with the aussies, borders and shetland sheepdogs are usually faster than us! Most of Tucker's time is spent napping beside me on top of my desk (looks like a hood ornament!) and playing with our parakeet, Triscuit, who is just as spoilt. It's a hard life, but somehow they manage!!

Sorry for taking up your time folks and rambling so!! I appreciate and enjoy you all!

But seriously, doesn't just about everyone hang up their towel to let it dry for reuse? Another self-evident blog with absolutely no insight.

No, I roll my used, wet towels up into a ball and tuck them in between my mattresses. It's lumpy at night, but I got used to it ;)

One of the best vinegar tips that I ever read was to add white vinegar and some baking soda to your laundry water (along with detergent) when washing new jeans. Not only will it soften them but it will also remove all chemicals from manufacturer. Yes it will fizz a bit in the water and that's how I know I've gotten the right amount in. The baking soda first followed immediately by vinegar. Baking soda will also act as a detergent booster.

Posts are also showing up in weird order. I read every post, in order, no skipping. I come back later and find there are posts I missed before sitting between ones I've already read?
Mine that followed, for example, Dwindle, is suddenly about 3 or 5 posts down from Dwindle's. I don't get the system, and I sure don't want to miss any of y'all's great insights.

Learned several things from this tweet....

1. she's got a nanny

2. Kate says her kids are never sick due to organic lifestyle..I guess we can dispute that.

3. Kate still doesn't know how to cook chicken.

I saw it earlier, Twit, and yes, I did find it disturbing. Very creepy. Kate's ego, however, is fed by comments like that. She just doesn't get it.

She just tweeted that one of the kids is vomiting. She just won't shut up, will she? What is wrong with that woman? Seriously?

She goes for a 9 mile run(which had to take at least an hour or more) and returns a 9:38pm. Who was watching the kids while she was out running? M & C? The tups apparently were still up, because she said she then tucked them in.

Then to top it off she has to get on twitter to tweet that one of her kids is vomiting? Are M & C taking care of that too?

And none of her sheeple even think to question her on it. Some of them even want to know who the sick one is. I really really really don't get!

Hanging bath towels to dry for reusing is novel idea IF you're a primadona like Khate used to staying at swanky hotels like The Essex House....where there's a maid to pick up your wet towel from the floor and replace with a fluffy new one!!!!! Khate didn't realize she was telling us mediocre-types something we all already knew.

My favourite use for vinegar is to take the soapy taste out of plastic water bottles and tuperware that have been washed in the dishwasher. Teaspoon of vinegar, fill the rest of the way with water and let sit over night.

Didn't Sara Snow talk about using vinegar to clean when Khate was ignoring her in that one episode?

Does Kate also use Google to remember the names of the boys, because when she talks about the kids on her blog, she always mentions the girls individually by name, but not the boys.
**
Kate's indifference to those boys is so obvious. I hope Jon pours the loving on when he's with them

Why? From his own words Khate is doing GREAT as a mom.

Your posting hit a soft spot with me. I too have a Yorkshire Terrier as well as a German Shepherd. The Yorkie is my soft spot. Fiesty, loving, devoted and dependant. 90 pound shepherd is like a parent to the Yorkie but the get along.

The Yorkie is unlike any dog I have ever had. He understands what I say, is protective to a fault and at times just sits on the furniture, all 4 pounds of him and just stares at me. It's hilarious.

If we could all take a page from a dogs devotion and learn about their honor and sincere protection they have for us, we wouldn't be blogging about parents who just don't get it.

My Shepherd was a rescue but my Yorkie was a gift to my daughter. As dogs are like pack animals, the Yorkie clung to me like a magnet. Dependent yet fiesty. Fierce yet loving. Lazy yet busy.

Having raised 3 kids and all the joy and heartbreak that goes with that responsibility, the Yorkie never complains, always glad to see me and appreciates the least affection I can give.

I enjoyed reading your posting and could relate. I've never seen something so small give back something so huge with the devotion and love this little thing has. Love my dogs but I do have a favorite. My Yorkie rules. Enjoy yours and all the smiles he brings each day.

Kelly aka Walt.

Anyone with a child in sports knows you can't get away with just one load a week. There are often one or two games a week so uniforms need to be washed, and practices are usually daily or almost daily and you run out of clothes to practice in if they're not washed frequently. And sports clothes DO need to be washed after one use, it's disgusting and unsafe otherwise.

What I don't understand is if she's doing about a load per day anyway, why not just throw in whatever is dirty? I totally understand not being a short order cook with laundry and kids using the hamper because they are too lazy to fold their shirt and put it back in the drawer, but a simple spot check and smell test can catch a child doing that easily. I think that's what Kate was trying to get at, but she allows no exceptions to her rule.

My trained monkey takes care of mine but I'm aware that's not exactly typical.

I spilled Asian salad dressing on my new white TOMS shoes tonight. I was mad! I was worried about putting any harsh chemicals on it and getting them wet with a bunch of soap was out of the question, so I used vinegar. Smell came out, no stain!

White vinegar is one of THEE essential household times. Get some if you don't have it, and use it. Also it makes me smile because it reminds me of my great-grandma's house, she used it too. Time tested, grandma approved.

Ohh....vinegar is also good for pet vomit. For pet pee, vinegar and baking soda mixed with water.

About vinegar & fruit flies - fruit flies LOVE vinegar & you can use this to your advantage if you have an infestation! Put several SMALL bowls of apple cider vinegar with the smallest little dab (less than a drop) of dishwashing soap mixed in. The flies come in to drink the vinegar & end up drowning because the soap cause them to break the surface tension of the water.
I had a ton of them last summer at one point & I did this and they were pretty much all gone a day later!
