Kate's first blog at Couponcabin.com

"The money I save means my kids get more gifts and more gifts for them means I get more smiles and hugs on Christmas morning. And that, in itself, is the perfect gift for me!"

Kate's new job blogging officially begins today with her first post about Black Friday shopping.

hmmmmmm, no comments allowed. Interesting.

And she was 'stranded' at home with them at age 4. She was not alone, Jon was there with her. If this is the way she plans to make her high style living, I just don't see that happening with this gig.

Looks like this story is going to go viral:

http://www.celebitchy.com/193575/what_did_kate_gosselin_do_to_her_face_facelift_fillers_andor_nips_and_tucks/

Bottom line? It is crystal clear that she has had "work" done on her face. Doesn't matter how many times or what procedure. She can deny it all she likes, but the pictures don't lie. If she wants people to start believing her, she needs to start telling the truth.

Well, that's 2 minutes I'll never get back again. I thought her blog was supposed to deal with family shopping? Most of the sites she lists are for adult items. Besides, what parent -- or even bargain shopper -- waits until AFTER Thanksgiving to begin Christmas shopping?

The stranded comment is a little much. Stranded? Um, no, you are a parent and the other parent was working to support you and the kids. You're supposed to take care of your own darn kids you decided to bring into the world.

It is so sad that she views time with her kids as being stranded, calls them a burden (that's what she told Wendy Williams, she was BURDENED with them), openly wants to be away from them every other week. What the heck.

And of course she only gives them gifts so she gets credit for them. Why can't she just give gifts for the sake of giving gifts and enjoy their joy without it having to relate back to her? This is why she won't let them believe in Santa, she can't stand that a mythological creature would get credit for something she did.

I'm sure coupon cabin doesn't want to spend the next several days deleting nasty comments and in-fighting, but not allowing comments means they're cutting out a big draw of blogging, the interaction. She is not the only one, none of their posts allow comments. They're really missing the boat.

There is no way Kate wrote that post. One of those twenty-something "kids" who also have their pictures on the Coupon Cabin wall (LOL) is the author. I'm sure they write it, email it to Kate to "review" and then it gets published.

"The money I save means my kids get more gifts..." aside from the usual "me, me, me; I, I, I" the above statement wont ring true with most of the CC readers, who are putting in the effort to save money so they can pay winter utility bills or purchase more beef and eggs for the week. Not to buy additional gifts so KATE KATE KATE can demand more attention and screech out "YOU'RE NOT WELCOME!"

THE CC readers, as I refuse to call them 'her' readers like she calls everything else. "HER" sitter, "HER" everything... blah blah blah.

I do follow several homemaking blogs of different kinds, so you all will have to let me know how this CC one measures up. Most good blogs start with one or two items of interest, what the blogger researched and found, some detailed education of facts, and an invitation for exchange of information and exeriences on the particular topic of the post. I have no intention of clicking on anything from a faux reality show participant who has already proven that her attitude towards mediocre folks is "Let them eat cake." I wouldnt click on an article from Kris Jenner about how to teach modesty and family values to your daughters, now would I? So clicking on anything regarding child rearing or homemakeing from that Gosselin woman is the same thing to me.

(PS, yes I do know the traditional misintreperation of Marie Antoinette's comment...)

There are a few children's sites listed, as well as department stores which have items for both children and adults. Most families shop for not only their children, but for spouses, inlaws, teachers, and other adults. Nothing wrong with the selection of coupons she has listed.

I have four kids, I'm a bargain shopper, and I never shop before Thanksgiving.

_____________

OK, maybe poor choice of words. But she WAS at home with the 8 children when the sextuplets were babies and the twins were 4 years old - Jon was working outside the home at that time - and she wasn't able to go out to shop. She is simply acknowledging that she has more freedom to go out now than she did then, but that she still likes to internet shop.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

But "stranded" implies Jon wasn't doing his part. Like he left her. And is insulting to the millions of working moms that would really rather have the luxury of staying home with the children and would never dream of implying they were stranded or the kids were a burden. Is there anything about her kids she actually likes besides the money they've brought in?

According to the early episodes, Jon worked during the week, then took over childcare duties the second he got home. A lot of moms would be lucky to drag a tired husband off the couch in the evening, but I never saw Jon even so much as put his feet up for two seconds. Her nursing schedule allowed her to be home with the children during the week and pick up weekend shifts. The arrangement they had was a great one many families have done, a way for both parents to bring in income while still leaving the kids with a parent the majority of the time, but Kate didn't see it that way.

They had a good life, but she wanted more, and in the process, well, we all know what it's done to the family.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Shopping after Thanksgiving shouldn't be as much of an issue for her since she barely works a part time job. Blog posts can be thrown together in an hour or so, less if you aren't actually including any useful information but rather just blabbing about yourself, and even less if someone else is writing it for you. She has plenty of time to Twitter away her days day after day, she has plenty of time to go online before Christmas.

Pam said...

"The money I save means MY kids get more gifts."
( emphasis on MY is mine )

Why can't she use the money she saved to help out other families who struggle buying gifts for their kids at Christmas? Doesn't she think her kids have more than most kids have already? They need more? Is she trying to turn them into the gluttonous Kardashians?

Or, she could use the money she saved and donate it to, say, Red Cross? Or the homeless shelter, St. Jude, humane society, etc etc etc. Oh wait....those people won't come hug her neck and sing her praises.

No, they're not. All they'd get was a big headache, and a bunch of links or tips leading to other bargain sites. They would need a full time moderator just to delete comments on a Gosselin post.

CC was just an excuse to raise a lot of venture capital from a lot of people who didn't understand what they were investing in. It will be gone soon, especially if hiring Kate is typical of the judgement involved in developing the site.

Anybody who looks to Kate Gosselin for financial tips of any kind is sadly deluded.

Yep, MeMeMe Mom has missed the boat with her comment about coupons allowing her to buy MORE. And of course more gifts mean more thank-yous, and once again, it is all about stroking her huge ego. Sigh. Looks like her CC 'team' forgot to identify the target audience for K8. Or how about something about using coupons gives me extra money to buy toys for those less fortunate.
This, along with accepting gifts from sheeple, is just awful.

As far as being " stranded", time to own up to the fact this was your CHOICE. I see this am she's happy to be a "bus stop mom" - hmm, short week this one, and a few days next before the next trip, guess she can embrace the role as an occasional guest appearance.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

And she's even openly accepting Christmas gifts from fans on twitter.

Her kids will have a wonderful Christmas, and maybe if she's saving so much money and is working herself now, she could offer to reduce Jon's child support so he doesn't have to work two jobs that keep him so busy and exhausted he simply can't take the kids whenever the mood strikes her to take off Down Under.

Just a wild idea.

Khate's blog is a whole lot of "No Shit, Sherlock". Does she believe her own BS? I can't stand the way she writes, it sounds phony and immature. If Khate DOES actually cook for her kids this year, she sure won't be eating the meal and enjoying a full belly with them. She'll be too busy keeping skinny for the Vegas Marathon.

Speaking of marathons, I just read on CNN that two runners died in the Philly marathon this past weekend. I hope Khate is taking care of herself, for the sake of her children.

Not Really, I totally disagree. A big draw of blogs IS the interaction. The most popular blogging sites always allow interaction. If there is no interaction, then you're just reading someone's diary. Boring.

That is one reason I try to be unmoderated if I can, the interaction is so important to this site and even slight delays i think is a turnoff.

Your point is completely correct, regarding most websites.

My point was that there is no intention of turning CC into a coupon community, hence no need for a moderator. The sole purpose of CC was to raise capital. Now it can go down in flames like so many other ventures of its kind.

IF CC allowed community, there might be a better chance of it surviving.

Ditto IF they actually reached out into the coupon community to find bloggers real parents could relate to, instead of picking a controversial, high-profile, high-flying "mom" like Kate Gosselin.

But that's not what CC is all about.

I think she wrote the blog, herself, and it was cleaned up a bit, because it is basically about her, and certainly not about Black Friday. She just blew that off and that was supposed to be what the blog was about. She took it clear up to Christmas and blew off Thanksgiving, like it is nothing, a pain - a slug, no less. Thanksgiving in our family has always been the one time when all of us are together that we actually, truly bow our heads and give thanks.

I also think she is supposed to be calling up merchants and networking for coupons to post, and there was only one that had her code on it.

Nervous yet, CC? You will be soon - you clearly have no idea ......

Also, somewhere she mentioned that she found the job posted so apparently she contacted them and not the other way around. That is what I gathered from the KT speak.

That blog was painful to read. Someone at CouponCabin should proof-read her work before it is submitted, and if that was proof read, wow.

Well, I wish her better success in the marathon than she has at blogging.

She just loves that word "I". Has to be sure the public knows SHE is the one who sacrifices for everone else ( what mother doesn't?).

I have a quiestion, though. I like to shop in stores and online, but I hate getting socked with shipping charges when shopping online. How can you save money with coupons when you have to turn around and use what you just saved to pay shipping? She makes it seem like shopping online can save you money, but you really don't. It might save your sanity from having to battle crowds ( which I find to be part of the fun ), but the money you slice off the price of an item with a coupon just ends up as a shipping and handling charge to have it mailed to you. Where's the online coupon savings?

She seems like she is pushing online shopping to save money w/ coupons, but I personally find that you can save more in the actual store. I guess I'm just not as famous and don't get hounded by fans and paparazzi, so I don't mind.

Not many of us with kids and a home to take care of have the luxury of staying clean enough to wear the same outfit all week. I wondered about that when she said that the kids wore the same clothes over and over, until they got a stain (no wonder they can't have fun). I do have an "appointment or town outfit" that I take off and hang up as soon as I get home (good for a couple or three) but every day stuff, 2 days at the most.

She clearly is running that house (never a home always a house as in bye housey) by herself these days. No wonder she is so bitchy, no time to groom for the bus stop, ha. And baby sitting is taking a bite out of her, welcome to the realest reality of all - life.

You got it!

That is a business model that's quite popular in circles where venture capital can be sucked out of the pockets of investors with more money than brains. Also more money than willingness to research investment opportunities.

Works, too, for the ones who sell.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Kmart, it depends whether you can save money online. But I've found in the past few years you usually can.

I think a lot of online places offer free shipping, but you often have to go through half the checkout process first to see if you're eligible. Usually it requires a certain amount, often a small amount like free shipping on orders over 10-20 bucks. There's also often a clearance section online you wouldn't see if they have a brick and mortar store.

Forget coupon cabin, I like couponcode.com. If I want to buy something online, that's the first place I go to see if there are any free shipping codes or a percentage off. There almost always are, they are a great site.

I think a good rule of thumb is that if you can get free shipping, and usually you can, it's usually worth buying online. Call the store if you have to and do a price check to see if you are really saving or at least breaking even. I think online stores know this is what customers want, and so I have found they ARE making it cheaper these days. But you have to be smart about it and do the work of getting the free shipping codes in there.

Here's a good for instance, I recently bought some new bedding at Macy's online. When I first looked it was full price. I loved it, but I waited.

I think I waited about six weeks and was able to see it lower the price, then I had a 10% off coupon, plus they were running a free shipping deal that week. I ended up saving several hundred dollars. Way cheaper than walking into Macy's down the road.

So you have to sort of play the online game play your cards right to get great deals, for some people it's a fun game but a lot of people don't have the time or patience or know how to do it and I wouldn't blame them.

Yep, that's the business model, all right.

In the end it won't matter that they hired Gosselin. They will keep her if she's not too much of a pain, or dump her if she is, but it won't really make any difference to the result they are after.

Your friend said it: It's not "about their passion or really caring that much about the product" it's just about the big sell-off before the final implode.

Interesting comment from Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe:

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Radcliffe, who has been appearing in Broadway musical, said he hasn’t enjoyed becoming a celebrity describing it as “vile” and “ghastly".

"There are, obviously, upsides to it, but I’d say that the upsides, for me, are the upsides that come from my job rather than from the celebrity aspect,” he said.

"I mean, celebrity is horrible -- that’s the truth, is that it’s a ghastly, vile thing.”

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/harry-potter/8907268/Daniel-Radcliffe-turned-down-Harry-Potter-film-offer-at-first.html

According to Radcliffe, his parents turned down his first opportunity to audition, saying that filming in Los Angeles would be too disruptive to his life, and only agreed in the end once the filming was moved to England, where the Radcliffes live.

So, 1) it looks as if more grounded people, (Radcliffe says he likes his work as an actor, but hates the way "celebrity" can mess up his life) get that "celebrity" isn't real life

and

2) at least one child who worked in entertainment media had parents who gave at least SOME thought to what working meant for the child, unlike others discussed here.

Gift, it's this:

1. Get venture capitalist to fund (or over-fund) your website business.

2. Grab huge salaries while "building" the business.

3. Create "buzz" or stats that look as if the business is a success.

4. Sell it and pull your own money out before it becomes obvious that there is no real profit to be made. If you're lucky, the big bucks are made here. If you're not, at least you got your huge salary and perks on the VC dime.

Sounds stupid, doesn't it? But it happens every day in the VC (Venture Capital) world. A whole lot of people in this country have huge buckets of money and no place to put it.

Like Kate Gosselin's fans, they want to be touched by glory. Gosselin's fans compete to buy boxes of mouldy cereal to deliver to her, or to send gifts, so that they feel a part of her life.

Venture capitalists want to brag that they are in on the latest Internet deal. They have to put the money somewhere, and this feels cool.

Same psychology.

Old-school investing involves looking at profit/loss, financial records, and, heck, track records. VC is often more about the glam. Start-ups like CC are really risky investments, but that sometimes doesn't matter where emotions are concerned.

Kind of like buying mouldy cereal for a woman who isn't willing to actually meet you in return for receiving it. You get the flash of glory before the crash.

And guess what, the extended family usually potlucks the meal, too, at least mine does. We also buy groceries for the food bank, write checks to the downtown mission. So no pity for you packing leftovers into the wee hours, which I rathet doubt anyway. And I truly hope Jon is enjoying Thanksgiving with Ellen and her extended family.

Admin - when did we learn that Jon was working two jobs? I hadn't heard that before.

As for her blog, she's not a writer is about all I can say. It took her three paragraphs before she even mentioned holiday shopping and Coupon Cabin. I understand that, as far as Coupon Cabin and other businesses are concerned, they don't care how well the piece is written, in fact my husband has had it pitched to him by someone making the case for blogging to promote your business that having spelling and grammatical errors makes the blog more relatable to the potential consumer. As someone mentioned before, it's all about the profit, not the product.

That being said, as a college educated woman of a certain age that reads a variety of blogs, I tend to frequent the ones where the blogger is a good writer, i.e. taking time to consider their topic and then proofread and edit to make the post flow smoothly. I respect those bloggers.

I think that is one of the biggest mistakes Kate has made in her "career". She never realized that it's not just about attention but about garnering attention and engendering respect. The two go hand in hand if you want to make it in any field on any level.

My husband (who patiently listened to me read Kate's blog aloud to him) came up with a Kate Gosselin drinking game (feel free to add - neither of us are big drinkers and so don't know the finer points of the drinking game rules):

1) She mentions something about her put upon self - a sacrifice she makes or self aggrandizing behavior (e.g.I cooked dinner ALL by myself)

Take a drink.

2) She mentions the kids or her mom role.

Take a drink.

3) She mentions the number 8. Take a drink.

4) If she uses the phrase "8 kids" take two drinks.

5) She mentions "saving money" - take a drink.

6) When she uses an exclamation mark, take 1 drink per mark.

Kmart Smart,
I'm a big fan of shopping online and I can tell you right now, if they're not offering free shipping, I'm not buying. It's de rigueur to offer that (generally with a minimum purchase point), along with other discounts around the holidays. I've noticed it more and more over the past couple of years. Many times, you don't even need a code.
For example, I recently bought a load from Land's End, one of my faves. They had $40 off $100 plus free shipping. Holy mackerel! If you consider the free ship, I'm getting almost %50 off. So, I bought in chunk of as close to $100 as I could and saved a bundle.
I'm also a member of Amazon Prime, where I pay a yearly fee for free 2 day shipping that *most* of the stuff I'm looking for qualifies for. Sometimes I know I'm paying a bit more, but just to be able to go from thinking about an item that I want or need, to buying it within seconds is wonderful. Many times, the item shows up on the doorstep the next day!
Finally, I always Google to find a code to get anything I can taken off whenever I buy online. More often than not, I can find a code that works.
I'm just not sure I even need to go to a coupon/code aggregator anymore.

Not Really, thank you for that explanation. silimom said...

Not Really said - I disagree a bit with your take on venture capitalist. A real venture capitalist isn't using his own money, he's using money out of a pool. He's gotten other investors to invest in his venture capitol pool and then he's going out and trying to pick winners using that money. And the VC's that do it more than once are particular about looking at the business plan, P/L statements, Cash Flow statement, etc.

There are Angel Investors. These are the investors who use their own money to fund a startup (you are starting to see the formation of Angel Groups), and they usually have other motives than just profit for investing in a certain company. The term, if memory serves from my small business class, comes from the early "Angel" investors who financed plays and musicals at one time.

The point is, there are lots of different types of investors. Are there good VCs and bad VCs? Of course. But the ones that last are the ones who do the research before committing to a project.

Materialism. The more the better. Isn't there anyone who can sit this woman down and tell her that more is not necessarily better, and all the gifts in the world aren't going to make her a better mommy nor assure her that the kids are going to love her?

She really does need the intervention of a mental health professional. If she thinks more gifts equals more love, she's dead wrong. All she is going to end up with are eight children who are going to be greedy, demanded, and entitled.

We know that this is her mindset, but good gosh, does she have to put it in print?

I doubt the children are truly 100% happy with the way Kate is portraying them to be on twitter and whatnot.

By the way, didn't Kate cater Thanksgiving dinner for Steve a few years ago? Was it catered especially for him so she would have more time with him? LOL. So why pull that crap about cooking it from stratch every year?

I rarely use 15% off codes. I always go for 25-40% off. I just bought a ton of outerwear from Landsend.com saving 30-40% off on sale and I added an additional $10 off each $50 I spent. Plus free shipping. And I earned rewards with a rewards account. Plus I shopped through MyPoints.com and earn store gift cards just for clicking through their site to shop.

I never pay for shipping. If I do it has to total less than I would pay for it in a store and even then I get pissed if I have to pay to ship something. lol.

I never go to just one site for coupon codes. That's not smart coupon hunting. I google the store or website name and coupon/code or free shipping, etc and click on a few and pick the best.

I also suggest being a Rewards member and getting coupons and coupon codes sent to you.

Yesterday I bought my daughter two denim skirts from Old Navy. They weren't even on sale and I paid $3.00 total for both after my Rewards and Old Navy Cash.

I also bought the Lalaloopsy Treehouse at Toys R Us for $30 when you can't get it anywhere else for less than $35. It was on sale at Toys R Us for $35 and I asked if they'd honor the Target $5 off coupon. They did.

And babysitting services? How is that helpful for Christmas shopping?

I personally can't imagine hiring a babysitter online. I have so many friends and family I can ask to babysit my children, even for a few days at a time if need be.

That blog post was just bizarre and didn't seem like great bargains at all in my opinion.

Sorry for the long post but I can't believe Kate bragged about being so coupon savvy and that is what she came up with.

fidosmommy said...

If you shop online with a company that also has a brick and mortar store near you, sometimes they will ship the package to the store and you can pick it up there. No shipping charge.

I think it was JCPenney's where I was able to do that. I know Payless Shoe store does that too.
I'm sure there are others.

I'm a coupon shopper and love to use online codes and Kate's blog stinks! My local blogs have way more useful information. By now I expect specfic exmaples, like buy lego sets or wii games on sale at this website for this price. Most of the time this year the deals I am buying are at least 50% off. The other type of BF blof lots of people search for are hot toy finders, I know I am looking for 2 dolls that are sold out everywhere. I wonder what kate advice would be for that? That of course would make Kate have to do actual work and check deals daily or hourly this time of year. It seemed like her blog was about her with a few codes coupon cabin gave her. Coupon Cabin gave her the codes that benefit them. If the sheeple want to use the links and save 15% off at childrens place then let them. There is a 20% off coupon all year long out there so let them watse thier money. I also wonder if Kate has ever shopped at these sites? I highly doubt it. Just makes no sense for coupon cabin to hire her.

Ok, just read that kate & purseboy were in Chicago on Nov 9th, so Kate was away from home a lot more than she was saying.
The reason Kate did not blog about Black Friday, cause Kate knows nothing about Black friday, much less even, actually done Black Friday. Kate hates crowds, (just watch some of the JK8 and K8, Kate complained about too many people). Kate would never get up early or stand in a line for hours to get something on Black friday, so how can she even write about it.Of course she turned the article about herself, she knows nothing else to write about.
As for Black Friday I did that last year, won't do it again. Besides, if you have a store discount card and you gave them an e-mail, you should have gotten their flyer for Black friday in your e-mail, I have. Anyone with common sense, does not have to read Kates laughable take on Black friday to know what to do, and take advice from someone who never has/have done Black Friday. Most of the stores us MEDIOCRE/NORMAL people shop at, that do Black friday Kate does not shop at. So her advice would be bogus.
I do whole heartedly believe Kate had face work done, nobodys eye brows go from ached to super arch and face looking tight, from losing weight. The one pic Kate looks like her face is frozen.

It's funny that Kate says that she was stranded at home with the kids and thus learned to do her Christmas shopping online. Going through the episodes from when the little kids turned four, they went to the following places:

Sesame Street Place
Cupcake Place
Strasburg RailRoad
North Carolina (beach, lighthouse)
NICU (reunion)
Sight and Sound Theatre
Kate on a trip Jon at home for couple days
Phillies Game
Hawaii
San Diego, CA
Legoland/Zoo
Yard sale
New York for the day
Tennesse St Judes
The New House
Dentist

Not really a big surprise that she could...oh, wait, I mean...the production assistants...could pack up the family and do all of these things, but she and Jon could not find a hour for her to go to the toy store alone. Or call her fabulous "friends" to come babysit.
And this is just the show related traveling. Kate had a book come out during this time and I'm sure this was the height of her "booktour" traveling.
I guess she sets aside as much time to think about and plan for Christmas that she does Halloween.

Just read Kate blog, what an bunch of shit! All about her, she even mentioned she does not do Black Friday actual, but some online. So CC ads for kate blogging about Black Friday are fraud, bogus BS! I love how she plugged for her Vegas Marathon. The info she gave was as someone put it written in I say not a half hour but 5 mins. Most of the coupons they/Kate have listed, those stores/places I've never heard of. Why would I shop at a store/place I've never heard of? People are gonna shop at places they know and are the common/mediocre/normal/everyday/local stores to get Black friday bargains. Not some store that nobody ever heard of, and take a chance on.

mamaK, Kate wrote that she had 8 kids under the age of 4, so the twins were 4 and tups were 1.
The show J&K+8 wasn't in full swing yet, however, Kate had a village of volunteers that helped her. Volunteers, nurses, family (gasp!) and donations were there to help her.
She was not stranded home, alone, with 2 toddlers and 6 babies.
Didn't happen.

So....how are you 'saving' anything if you just use that 'saved' money to put back into new gifts? A person that really needs to save money would look for deals and then, say they saved $20, that would be put in the bank. Or uses for an essential item, like food.
But I guess I wouldn't know...I am not as poor as Kate.

The people who researched Kate's blog missed some real deals. Amazon.com has tremendous savings this week on certain DVD sets, books and other items. BestBuy.com has a number of great sale items listed. WalMart.com, Barnes&Noble.com, abebooks.com, and audiobookstand.com all have sales going on, and many don't even require a coupon code to take advantage. If you belong to Speedy Rewards and enter the store through the Speedy Rewards Mall, you can also accumulate points which can be redeemed for gift cards, free food, cents off gasoline, and other goodies.

Silimom -- BestBuy.com also offers in-store pick-up, and so does Target and, I believe, Wal-Mart. For those of us in the Mid West, Meijer also offers in-store pick-up for items bought online.

After reading through the comments, I agree coupon cabin lack of partciapation/comments is going to hurt them. I live in Utah and the local coupon site I follow has plenty of moms with 4, 6 8+(yes Kate moms have more then 8 kids!) kids. The site has grown so much in the last 2 years from local to national because so many people were willing to say what deals they found or what stores they were checking. The constant updating of deals and availability is key. Most of the deals on the site have free shipping. I rarely will pay for shipping. Good sites also have help with how to get your cart ready for BF. I have my kohls, target and toyrus carts all ready thanks to websites having the ads and moms talking about deals. I have 2 friends that are single moms that both had a very limited budget who bring me lists and money every year. I am able to usually get most items on thier list with a little work and the ability to stay up late! Also many of the moms with 6-8 kids on the site I use are talking about donating. Whenever amazon has the big toy sale, that is a huge topic about what toys to donate and what certain age groups needs toys and what those kids want/need. Kate's blog and CC have none of the factors for success. CC makes money off the links and I doubt too many people will buy off of those links so I doubt Kate will last long unless she has some sort of contract for a specific period of time?

But a chorus of eight “Yummy, mommy!” makes it totally worth it."

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Really Kate? I guess this is why one shouldn't alienate their entire family and friends. When one has family and friends, they usually spend the holidays together and everyone shares in the work. Are you sure this isn't just your excuse to blow off your kids. Not now, Mommy has to clean up!!!!!!!!! How hard is it for you to through out your paper plates anyway?

As far as being stranded with your kids. I have triplets and was home with them until they were three. I NEVER had time to sit online and shop. Not even while they were napping. There were other things to do, so consider yourself lucky to have that time you sorry excuse for a mother.

TotallyDisgusted said...

Kate's blog on Couponcabin just shows that she is no expert at couponing. She is an insult to the true couponers out there.

This is just another forum so she can write about herself. How she does it all by herself. She says she cooks the meal and is up late cleaning up. Gee, if she hadn't alienated her family maybe she would spend a holiday at their house or them at hers where everyone brings a dish and helps with clean up.

It's really sad when you think about it. With Kate those kids will never know the joy of spending a holiday with extended family.

Cammie said...

I wasn't sure if it was ok to say names of other coupon sites. CC makes money off the sale if you complete a sale through the CC link. You can get that money yourself if you use other websites. I use fatwallet's links and get 3%-5% cashback, and sometimes higher during promos(it is keep in an account and when it hit $10 I can transfer to paypal). CC keeps that same 3-5% or more and you just get the easy link to use?
If Kate shops so much online why is she not promoting upromise? The % of cashback you get goes into a college fund. Seems like a better match.

And there you have it in her own words, she has to buy her kids smiles and hugs with gifts.

Part of her "ME, I" attitude that really irritates me is 'Kate Plus MY 8', has anyone told her they are 1/2 Jon's!!!!!! !!

Love the stranded comments. She had non-stop help when the tups were babies, a nurse, and Jon let her sleep until the minute he brought her coffee on his way out the door to work after changing all the babies and took over 100% the minute he came in the door from work.

"No Comments" are allowed on her kate plus my 8 crapsite either. Guess she's afraid of what comments she'd get, and rightly SO!

#############

The short answer is yes, they are probably getting a cut from retailers. Profits there depend on how many people use their coupons. If you do the math, it'll take whole lot of X% from coupons to make up for a 50-plus million investment.

But the answer to your questions is really this: they don't need to show a profit before dumping the site. They just need to sell POTENTIAL profit. Greed, and lack of due diligence will do the rest.

If the timing is right, when the website tanks, the original creators (that guy from Sears, and whoever else put this thing together) still fund themselves nicely.

If it sells for big money, the original VC investors win, too.

If it fails, the originators still win, and the VC investors move on.

If this all sounds insane, it's because it is. Take a look at this article from July (2011) which reports Twitter's "value" at $7 million dollars

http://www.thewrap.com/media/article/twitter-value-soars-7b-28809

TWITTER HAS NOT YET MADE A PROFIT! When Twitter looks for investment capital, it is selling POTENTIAL, not profit.

A new social media messaging system could squash Twitter tomorrow (as Facebook squashed MySpace and took it's "value" to essentially nothing), yet Twitter is still "valued" at $7 million.

It's quite likely that Twitter will be dead before it makes a profit for its investors, but Twitter is HOT! so Twitter is able to find investors. Greed, and that touch of glory that comes from sitting oh-so-near-a-glittering-star, are great motivators.

If you're an investor with a lot of money to burn (whether you wing it or join a VC group), sometimes the glory is enough. It's all in what you want to spend your money on.

Is this good for the country? Or the economy? Of course not, but it's great sport for the topest of the top 1%.

Regarding the facelift...I think that Kate had a chemical facelift (I think that's what you call it). Jill Zarin (Real Housewives of NYC) had one and the results were dramatic. The doctor used Botox or some other chemical and injected it ALL OVER Jill's face. It looked painful! Jill used a well-known doctor in NYC; Kate may have used the same doc. We'll know if that's what Kate did the next time we see a pic of Kate screaming at the kids. If her face doesn't move while she's screaming, then it's proof positive.

Sorry for having the wrong info. So she was referring to the time when the kids were babys? And she had a job, working outside of the house mingling with other adults? While Jon and the nurse took care of the kids at home? Yes, I guess that would make it really hard to run by the toystore on the way home from work. Especially if you pre-shopped online before going.
Maybe she means the time before someone gave them a van and she could go out with all the babies?
Any way, I'm sure her babies will feel very loved when she reads them her blog tonight at the dinner table and hear her say that. (what? You talk about the kids days/homework at the dinner table? That's crazy! This way the kids can tell mommy how proud they are of her!)

Maybe she'll go back to nursing and have to start from the bottom up again, or maybe she'll go work at McDonald's as she once proclaimed she would.

I am tiered of her saying she as 8 kids to provide for, I have never heard her once say she has 8 kids to love, no, I have only ever heard I have 8 kids to provide for and it's scary.

After this coupon gig fails or ends whichever comes first, what will she do with herself then? I just truly wonder.

...........Is there anything about her kids she actually likes besides the money they've brought in?
-----------------

Yes, before TLC came along, Khate liked the attention she got being a mom of eight, count 'em, EIGHT children. Then, after TLC came along, she loved the "fame" that she got because of her kids. So, fame and money, that's what she likes about being a "mom" of eight.

As for her lame blog, all the comments today just about say it all. Khate sucks at everything she does. She's a horrible writer, everything is always about her and how wonderful she is, and she lies her ass off about everything.

The so called great deals stink, you can do much better on your own, especially if you're a cardholder or regular shopper at certain sites and get their email offers. Right now, my inbox is filled with offers from every company I've ever ordered from. Like a lot of you said, I only order when I get great discounts and free shipping. If I don't already have a coupon code from my email, I just Google the name of the website/store and the words "coupon code" or "discount code". I usually find good working codes in mere minutes, most often at http://www.retailmenot.com/

One more thing - does ANYONE think the US Weekly story about Khate's supposed plastic surgery is just a COINCIDENCE?? It just happened to come out today, the very day her coupon blog is published? And it just happens to mention her new "job" AND the full website name in second sentence of the article. Yeah, right, that's just a coincidence. Bullcrap! That story was planted to get attention for her first coupon blog today. She doesn't care what they say as long as they're talking about her.

I agree about never hearing of those places but then I am not savvy like KT. But what is Puritan's Pride (had her code on it), sounds like dog food?
-------------------------

As readerlady said, they sell vitamins and supplements. I've ordered from them for years. Several times a year, they have great deals, such as buy two bottles, get three free (so, five for the price of two). We take tons of vitamins and supplements, and have shopped many different stores over the years. Puritan's Pride definitely has the best prices. I get their emails, so I only order when the deals are the best. Usually, I stock up only two or three times a year.

Btw, if anyone is interested in sites that you click through to shop somewhere and you get money back (put into your account and then added to a PayPal account or sent by check if you prefer):

BigCrumbs.com

Ebates.com

ExtraBux.com

I seem to do the best at BigCrumbs, which is what I click through when I order vitamins and supplements from Puritan's Pride. It only takes a few minutes to set up an account, and then when I order from somewhere online, I just go there first, find the store (you can save your favorite stores in a list, or just search for a store), then click that to be taken to the store's website. You get a certain percentage back for each store. For example, for Puritan's Pride, in addition to the great deals I get, I also earn 12% back. I have it go straight to my PayPal account, which is nice because I use PayPal to order from certain websites.

While I'm at it, I'd just like to share another great site since there are so many pet lovers here:

http://www.valuepetsupplies.com/

I use puppy pads for our two small dogs, and my mother used to pick them up for me in WalMart (because she goes there and I hate shopping there, lol). So, one day a couple of years ago, another woman stopped her and told her she used to buy the pads there too but she just started using this website that someone told her about. So, she gave my mom the info and I've been ordering from them ever since. A few of my friends are also using them. They have the best prices on the puppy pads, plus free shipping. It's so easy, just order them and you usually have the box the very next day. It's a great company, with very good customer service and tons of pet products. (NO, I have no affiliation with them and get nothing for endorsing them, lol, I promise!) I've ordered some things from them in bulk to donate to our local shelters, too.

Hey, if anyone else has favorite websites to order from, or great tips and deals, please share!

Because that's the problem with s**t stirrers. They stir the pot, but they just can't walk away from it. They have to come back to stir some more, checking to see what else is cooking. It's best to ignore, let the pot boil over, and let them wade in their own muck.

Well, Kate's done it again. She's headlining my MSN homepage due to the facelift rumor. Darn! Can't she just go away!!
Look at the Cabin Coupon picture above. Check out her profile. It doesn't even look like her. She's definitely had SOMETHING done IMO. She looks younger.

But she sure won't when it fails. If she was going to get facelifts, botox, etc., she should have waited until she was a lot older. She started too soon, and she'll pay later for that stupid decision.

Couponing isn't going to support this habit, much less her 8, count 'em, 8 kids.

I live in Utah and the local coupon site I follow has plenty of moms with 4, 6 8+(yes Kate moms have more then 8 kids!) kids. The site has grown so much in the last 2 years from local to national because so many people were willing to say what deals they found or what stores they were checking

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I use to live in Utah. I am happy that I just relocated to another state. Anyway, Utah Coupon blogs are great. You cant double coupons in Utah so they really teach you all the trick to maximize your savings. They also talk about managing your family and creating a family centered home. They give lots of ideas on how to spend time with your family without spending lots of money. They are everything that Kate is not. The writers of these blogs are sincerely trying to save money to invest in their families futures.
The only thing about Utah culture that I appreciated was their focus on family. I could go see a movie anytime for under $10. There were many places that focused on creating family fun on a budget.
I don't know about y'all, but I'm feeling slightly less crazy now that Kate's new face is getting noticed in the mainstream.
I've given her photos second glances for a while now, saying hmmmm...... something has changed. It's been subtle but ongoing.
The teeth are obvious, but the rest is subtly tweeked.
The photo montage on US really does show the gradual morphing. It just can't be weight loss as Kate has been thin for a while now. That' and losing weight does not tighten your face.
When is Kate ever going to get it? The way to a child's heart is not through gifts. It's through love, through hugging, through spending time with them, reading, encouraging them, praising them, listening to their concerns, making each child feel like an individual (and not a six-pack), supporting them in their school activities, making a real home for them (that includes NOT bashing their father in a public forum). No amount of coupon clipping in the world is going to buy that, and it's all FREE.
I wonder if Kate is paid a commission. All of the bloggers plug deals that are available through CC. They never mention any outside deals like Amazons DVD sale. Seems like there is always a major change when she disappears out west with one of two or three of the kids and returns with no pics. I did notice that this time when she came back from "out west," she said she wasn't feeling well but that she was not sick. She was very pretty when the tups were little and they had just started filming, then she got that hard edge and lost her attractiveness, but now if you did not know that it was her, she would be unrecognizable. I have to admit if I came into big money tomorrow, I would have it done just because sometimes I don't recognize myself as I have gotten older. But I would not lie about it. I would be proud to show it off. One of my dear friends had a face lift and it was so subtle that you would never know but it took 10 years off her and she said she felt 10 years younger. It cost $10,000, hard, cold cash.
Plastic Face 114, how right you are! She'll do a Joan Rivers or Michael Jackson-type morph by the time she's 50. Just look at how much she's changed in 7 years! I look at her post-pregnancy picture and I look at her now...you absolutely would not know it was the same woman. I remember after she and Jon divorced and she did the hair extensions/color (and probably some facial tweeking, too), tan and weight loss and then came out on the cover of People. My hubby and I were standing in the checkout line looking at magazines and neither of us recognized her at first.
She is obsessed with her appearance. She wants to look 21. Combine those two characteristics with her wealth and you've got a combo for disaster. It won't be too long before she's having some kind of cosmetic procedure done at least every year. She'll most likely wind up looking like a freak before she's 50...and she'll be flat broke. Just my prediction anyway.
They were just talking about Kate's "facelift" on Entertainment Tonight, and showed her angry tweet about how she's sick of fables and fairytales.
Did Kate get THIS angry when there was so much speculation she had a boob job?
She surely seems like an angry wet hen with the facelift rumors, compared to the boob job rumors...she was just like, "Nawwww, I just got a good bra." (liar)
She has to see, though, that nobody believes a word she says because she's lied so much about things that are soooooo obvious. She denied a boob job, so why should anybody believe her when she says she's had no facelift?
( I don't believe she had a facelift. I think she just has some Botox and rejuvination and wears cakes of makeup. But if she's had even that, she should stop denying she had anything done or else explain why she looks so different. People have eyes and are not blind.)
So, what Kate is trying to say (or trying to make up along the way) is that she doesn't really use coupons to save money but to blow more money.
You know I gotta hand it to her...I have never seen anyone who makes sure everyone in her tweetinuniverse knows who she is & how much better she is because she sold her children's childhoods to a cable tv company, AND can spend spend spend like there isn't a recession going on. Many families would just love to buy their kids a gift or not have the stress of where the next bag of groceries is coming from.
She has a knack for missing the heart of the matter.
LATE the other night I had the TV on. One of those awful infomercials was on. They were selling some kind of spray on face makeup that shot through a wand.
I know these items are pretty stupid, but the change in the faces of the models was astounding. One covered up a large birthmark on her cheek and one covered up some other imperfections.
Could Kate have picked up a blow-on makeup wand thingie? They say it covers wrinkles, which she clearly has had on her neck for years.
I frankly don't care what a person looks like. I don't care about their hair color, their eyeshadow color, their nails. But I noticed she had creases in her neck - probably genetic, that seem to be gone now. I noticed them because one of my best friends has them, too, and no matter what she does, they are still prominent.
Another thing cool about online shopping is a lot of them have cash back rewards. Drugstore.com is one of my favorites for that.
I apologize if someone posted this already.
Coupons on Coupon Cabin are put out with permission from the company listed in the coupon. For each click through on the coupon or code usage depending on how the coupon site is set up, the coupon site gets a commission from the company on the coupon. This is called and Affiliate Program.
The company got advertising on the Affiliate site and the Affiliate got income from the company in the form of commissions.
This is pretty prevalent and used to be bigger before states like New York, Rhode Island and a couple others started trying to collect tax on internet orders if they determined that a company had a physical presence in thier state.
For example: Company A is based in Florida. Someone in thier Affiliate Program lives in New York. New York then demands that the Florida company pay New York state income tax due to the "presence" of the affiliate. Companies like Overstock, Amazon, and Drs. Foster and Smith stated either dropping Affiliates in states that passed these laws or dropped entire Affiliate programs altogether.
Is it certain that the "official" CC photo wasn't photoshopped, re-touched, air-brushed or whatever, as was the cover for People magazine? It doesn't look like her at all. There's something strange and Barbie-like about her face. Unless there was major reconstructive surgery, nobody's appearance could change that drastically in seven years. It's a fake, plastic look that appears to have been computer-generated.
By the way, I don't ever remember seeing pictures of her at the grocery store - now or in the past when the paps followed every step. She had and has to go at least twice a week. Wouldn't you think there would be LOTS of those? And she'd be using gift cards..oops.. I mean coupons at every visit. Just wondering.
Seems she bakes a lot of cookies. What? No variety of other treats? Rice Krispies were a big deal in my day. You know, brownies, cupcakes, whatever. But no, Kate has to be weird and bake 32 dozen assorted cookies. How odd. Even if a variety I think I'd get sick of getting cookies all the time in my lunch.
Haha, it's funny even something as simple as baking cookies becomes a mission! Wow. Now that I think about it, everything Kate does she says, "the goal is _________" fill in the blank. Can't she try living in the moment?
Eh, I guess I've got bigger problems to worry about than Kate's stupid cookies. She's talking about cookies and I'm here worried that my turkey isn't going to thaw in time. Oh to be Kate and be able to not have to worry about the holidays!
The idea is Rice Krispee treats are very simple, but so delicious your family will think you slaved over them all day. So the mom reads a romance novel them rejoins the family a few hours later, doused in flour and acting exhausted. LOL. So Kate, except I guess Kate would probably be reading a tabloid about herself.
She gave herself credit last night for Kate's "revelations" about who stayed with the kids during Australia. She could only be referring here to the face-lift stories. Which, "honestly," with the photographic progressions that have been presented, how could it be doubted?
I guess as a self-appointed moderator and an "encourager of settin' the record straight" Milo won't be expectin' no paycheck from Katie dearest. Good thing, cause I don't think she'll be gettin' one.
Kate does look freaky and like an alien now. I definitely think she had a face lift because her features look splayed out/pulled back (eyes farther apart and pulled back) and she lost the extra chins. Also, remember the picture when she was pulling a large duffel bag out of the BBB and she had rolls of loose skin around her neck like a sharpei? If you look at that picture closely, part of the reason why the neck looked so...uncircumcised... is that the neck skin is tethered to her scalp. It's really obvious in that picture
I don't remember how they did it before since I didn't use it much, but now you can just have them cut you a check from your account, real money not some kind of gift card. It's free money. Absolutely free. And not in the sense a coupon is "free money" because it's only free if you purchase the product they want you to. With Upromise you just link your debit card or whatever cards you have, spend like you would normally spend, and if it's a participating retailer you get cash back. I literally havent' checked my account in months, almost forgot about it, but since it was brought up here I went to go look. $10 just sitting there. Apparently I got almost three bucks just from buying a pair of sunglasses at Sunglasses Hut (unknowingly). I asked them to cut me a check and just like that I should get it in a few weeks. Amazing. I imagine for people spending more with big families or something you could get a heck of a lot of free money from it.
Whatever it is, it's Kate tooting her horn again. She's so desperate to win the 2012 Mother of the Year Award {insert gag reflex here}.
MEDIOCRE moms can only manage preparing dishes for Thanksgiving two days beforehand, but SUPERWOMAN KATE can do all that AND make 36 dozen cookies AND $hit gold, all while she runs 20 miles and blogs while looking after EIGHT kids!!!! Can you do that? I think not!!!!!!
I'd like to see her in a reality show where she's locked in a house with 11 other moms, throw all of these domestic competitions at her and see how well she stacks up against other moms. All we have to go on now is her word, which is a big fat joke, but in a controlled unbiased setting she'd have to put up or STFU.
Does everyone know how much it COST to retain a lawyer? A good family lawyer's fee cost about $250 per hour. AND it takes at least a year of careful documentation to build enough evidence against the other parent. In fact, even when you have good evidence, it depends on the judge. Remember the Australia/New Zealand trip? Jon went to court then the judge ruled in C-atie Kreider's favor. Why? Because the Gosselin 8 had to WORK to support Momster Dearest & her boob guard & her entourage of people to jump at the b!tch's command.
Maybe that's why Jon is working several jobs. Retainer fees start at $3500.00. Going to court takes time to prepare & costs thousands of $$. Momster's good luck streak seems to be over. The media is turning against her & it's what she wanted...no more paparazzi = no more 1st class treatment. FINALLY!
Imaging all the money she would save if she stopped using Steve as a "security blanket". She could also save money and contract local security. I thought Steve was part of an International security agency and he and his company had connections throughout the world. Couldn't THEY find her a suitable bodyguard locally for the job?
==============================================
Steve is *not* a bodyguard. Companion, assistant, advisor, boob-chooser, boyfriend, lover - YES. Bodyguard - NO.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
My ex and his wife are a lot like K8. Last year I went to get an adjustment to my custody (the first adjustment in 12 years).All I wanted was times spelled out and for them to have to let her go to her sports activities which they refused to do. I so enraged them they took me to trial for full custody. Yes, the attorney was $250 per hour and wanted a $5000 retainer. Who has that?? I had to borrow from a relative who has his own business. Eventually it cost $15,000. I recently had to call my lawyer with an issue..one conversation cost $90.
The kicker is my ex is an attorney so the money does not keep him in check. He represents himself. The middle class is truly screwed when it comes to custody. We make too much to qualify for free legal advice but not enough to afford these fees.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and Kate spent yesterday making 36 dozen cookies when she supposedly does all of the Thanksgiving cooking from scratch every year all by herself. LIAR LIAR LIAR. She's been on Twitter too much to be doing much of anything. I'm just having four people here and I haven't sat down for three days getting ready except in 5-10 minute increments. Getting ready to board the dogs and then drive out of town to pick up my Mom and bring her back here. Happy Thanksgiving All!
OT a bit, maybe...
To me, it's no shock to see the flour-spilling toddlers family on the Today show this morning. I saw that staged video the other day and thought they'd do the morning talk shows with a freebie trip to NYC in no time.
If you're not familiar, the YouTube video that went viral showed a mother recording her 2 toddlers playing with a 5 lb. bag of almost spilled flour in their living room. There is flour everywhere. On the tops of sofas, on lamp shades, on door windows, and photos ABOVE the couch.
Fake, fake, fake. Staged, staged, staged.
As if toddlers can pick up a 5 lb. bag of flour, climb onto couches (that show no evidence of footprints in flour), pick it up over their heads to spill it, reach it and throw in onto photos etc.
I'm so sick of these parents using their kids to make a video that they hope goes viral, to get media attention. Free trip to NYC, guaranteed.
At least the interview was very skeptical (Matt Lauer), yet nice. The parents were yammering, trying to lie through their nervousness. Terrible liars without the PR people to help them spin the obvious (like Kate).
Thanks to the pioneering efforts of TLC, so many parents see their kids as means for a little or a lot of attention.
Here's the video on YouTube.
You just have to love the intelligence level of these sheeple! (Question about the cookies):
@Kateplusmy8 are they still good once you freeze?
Um, no. You go through the mess and stress of baking 36 dozen cookies and freezing them, knowing in advance that they won't be good once you defrost them.
She was absent from Twitter when she claimed she was making the cookies. Sixteen hours ago she had only three tweets; 10 hours ago she said she had just finished making cookies. There was more than enough time to make them. She's seldom on Twitter for any length of time during the day.
Did she bake the cookies all by her lonesome self? Does she "do" Thanksgiving by herself? That's debatable...
I think she could have made all those cookies but I also think it's just another way for Kate to set herself up.
She exhausted herself going over the top about things, and especially just before Thanksgiving when most people who are at all in charge of dinner are going to need a lot of energy to get through it. If she exhausted herself baking cookies the day before, she can milk it for maximum sympathy today and tomorrow and use it to get others to do things for her. It's actually quite genius actually. This will also be a good excuse when she snaps and her kids or others why she's losing her temper. Stress of baking all those cookies then doing Thanksgiving too.
This is not the first time Kate has done this, pick inopportune times to take on a huge project and then plead exhaustion later.
I'm gonna vote photoshop on the cc photo...the widow's peak in the video is missing on the photo. Plus her face is wider and shorter, like you'd squished a pumpkin. Someone needs to take some more photoshop classes.
Reminds me of the People mag cover...looks nothing like her. In the video she looks more like herself imho.
Ok, here some food for thought: Kate had the kids on Thanksgiving last year, so if reports are true kate has them again for this year, Kate is keeping the kids away from relatives on purpose. How many people do Thanksgiving the next day?or the day before? a few? I think Kate is afraid the kids will talk about what goes on in the house, with relatives. Jon probably celebrates Thanksgiving with Ellens family and his own and probably Kate family too, on Thanksgiving. Who does Kate celebrate with: the kids and purseboy, no nannys this year. Kate does this to hurt Jon & relatives, and control the kids. Kate is one twisted sister!
So why bake that many cookies now?(Kate had all week to bake), on the eve of Thanksgiving, no mention of cooking turkey, or shopping for one. I think Kate lets the local food store cook the Thanksgiving dinner and has it delievered. She is so full of shit!
Has anyone notice Kates tweets are getting less and less.
The Enquirer's source says that Kate has been reaching out to Kris Jenner asking for advice. Who knows, I'm sure Kate will deny it, but if there's anyone who is an expert on exploiting your family it's her. At least most of the kids are consenting adults.
Here's something you might consider for a Christmas gift for someone you love! I had to share this great find with you all.
I just ordered two of these for teen grandchildren and I think they'll love them.
I have purchased pillows from this site and got great service, so I would recommend.
They are offering a 50x60 Down Throw in several colors for $19.95 (originally $79.00.Shipping is only $4.99 per throw.
230 thread count cotton and fluffy 525 fill power down make these throws wonderfully soft and cozy.
Someone on Twitter should ask Kate what size turkey she has and how long it will cook and so on! I'll bet she really doesn't know 'cos she won't be cooking it. Ask her exactly what her menu is for Thanksgiving. I don't have a phone that can twitter so I can't ask. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
LOL on Kate's new job! What a waste of internet space, she has absolutely nothing to offer.
Again, this is a woman who has the two giant balls to complain that she is struggling financially, when her "struggling" means "how am I going to pay my $80,000 private school tuition bill now that my show is canceled?" "Will I have to dip into my $500,000 DWTS money?" "Or into my suitcases full of $20 photo cash?" When the rest of America's struggling involves deciding whether to buy food or heating oil this week? Or buying new shoes for the kids or paying the electric bill?
I don't know what Coupon Cabin could be thinking except that maybe they were hoping her haterz would take a look. Don't give her any hits!
As far as her new plastic surgery, I agree with everyone else, I don't think she's had a facelift. I think she had some aggresive facial resurfacing done to correct sun damage and a boatload of botox and fillers. I'm sure it pisses her off that her tummy tuck was televised. Or she would deny that, too. Is Octomom still claiming not to have had a tummy tuck? In the article with her bikini shoot, she claimed she did some stomach crunches every day and it just bounced back perfectly flat. Why must these kooks insult our intelligence?
Anyhoo, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I myself am thankful I am not a has-been reality star, with no contact with my family, spending Thanksgiving with a man TLC hired to protect the public from my forked tongue, horns and tail, in the mansion I don't think I'll be able to afford in a year. While Kate may have money in the bank, her soul is bankrupt. While I don't give a rat's ass about her, I will pray for her children who were dealt her as a mother.
##############
We live 20 miles from these two. Our last lawyer cost $400/hour. He was a "good" lawyer, but even paying $400/hour doesn't ensure quality. (Ours was, but it wasn't a custody issue.)
I can't even imagine how Jon could pay a decent lawyer on what he's making, especially since a certain percentage of his income already goes to child support.
Sometimes the bad guys win. This is one of them.
I didn't watch, but did Kate, OH-the COUPON-Queen that she is, mention that the Monday AFTER Black Friday ONLINE is the best time to find deals??
This is when I do my shopping. And my husband. It's called White Monday, or Blue Monday, or something. I can't remember. But, seriously, if you all want to save money, watch for the online sales. Screw going to the malls & stuff!! My husband & I found such great deals last year for our son, we compared what we would have spent at the store, to what we spent online, & the # was close to $700.
So, the Monday AFTER Black Friday! If you guys didn't know. :)
Hippie, that's Cyber Monday. Great deals and all you need to do it search "Cyber Monday 2011" and you'll get a boatload of links.
Some deals are better BF and some are better CM. If you are more of an online shopper, then CM is more for you.
But, it depends. For example, I got an email from ModBod (themodbod.com) where I buy their "basics" among other things. If you are looking for that perfect first layer shirt that doesn't bunch or add bulk, this is it. Warm, fitting, durable, amazing colors and 25 % off with free ship if you buy on BF.
Does Kate freez everything that she bakes.?
November 23, 2011 7:34 AM
I was thinking about that. Twice a school year baking and then freezing? Seems like some of those fresh baked cookies would get freezer burnt after 4-5 months. I've never frozen cookies after I baked them, but wouldn't they get soggy when thawing out? I froze some pumpkin bread for a month and it wasn't as good after thawing out. It was edible, just not as good.
For me, it would be MORE of a hassle to mass bake 400+ cookies and freeze them, rather than just baking some every two weeks, or even a month's worth. That would not be practical for me.
That would be ...like...letting your clothes pile up in the hamper for 5 months and then mass washing clothes twice a school year.
What is wrong with store/bakery bought cookies now and then, if only to save you time and clean up? Do her kids only deserve HOMEMADE cookies? Give me a Chips Ahoy or Oreo anyday.
Her perfectionism, superwoman and holier-than-thou persona is nauseating and tiresome. She does crap like this and then whines about how she's so stressed out and pressed for time and harried.
I'm convinced Kate does this stuff, not so her kids will have homemade cookies, but to have something to gloat about and try to make other mediocre moms feel like they can't compare to her.
Tucker's Mom said...
I can see why Kate wants to bake cookies for her kids, especially if she would otherwise buy organic store-bought cookies. It would be a huge savings to make them yourself. And, many baked goods freeze well.
I'd do it the same way. I'd go nuts making cookies for a day, and then put it behind me for a while.
I would not, however, brag about it.
It reminds me of a pet peeve from years back, when most times you left a message at work it was via voicemail, not email (not everyone everywhere used to have it at work!). The messages that went something like "Ugh, it's 8 at night, or 6 am and blah blah blah". I get it, you're working a lot of hours. I get it, you're staying late at work.
Frickin' martyrs.
I see someone posted a link about Khate asking Kris Jenner for advice and don't really think it's true. However- there is a HUGE difference here. Kris has been married to very powerful or successful men . She didn't start pimping out her kids until they were adults. Kim was known as Paris Hilton's friend and then that sex tape happened. The are so many things that they don't have in common- one of which- the Kardashians/Jenners are all drop dead gorgeous! Kris also is very well-spoken and outgoing and seems to really like her fans. Cannot say any of that about the Gosselins! Yeah- I went there!
I have noticed no one is raving to Kate on twitter about her fantastic deals on cc.
I find once you place an order online you get notices of sales and free shipping etc. to your email. And lots of stores send you catalogs with a customer number that will give you savings. And if I want free shipping or sale I google search also.
