Kate gets caught parking in the fire lane again

Will it take someone to die because they couldn't get emergency treatment for Kate to get out of the fire lane? What is this, the fourth time? Won't someone please just tow her?

Marie is not Kate...she writes too well. I've read some of Kate's writing on her website, and it's pathetic...she can't put a simple sentence together w/o at least one error. Even the quotes from famous people aren't copied correctly...i.e., she left out a word or two in the Maya Angelou quote. She "seriously" (to use an overused Kate word) needs an editor.

Heide said... I've been trying to downsize lately and I've been throwing out and giving away a TON of stuff. I haven't even been selling anything on Craigslist because I don't want the hassle. And I have to say it feels so much better to have less "stuff". So I really, really don't get the whole "jellus" thing. So why are we supposed to be jealous of Kate? Because she has more stuff? It's all about material things to the sheeple

**************

Me too! And it's hard to explain how good it feels, isnt it? I try to explain to others that less stuff means less clutter means a less cluttered mind for me, but that doesnt really explain it very well and no one gets it when I say it like that. I dont NEED all this stuff around here that at some point I just *had* to have and now it is suddenly just junk.

The only thing about Kate's life that would possibly come close to envy for me, is all her free time during the day and weekends. When my 4 kids were those ages, I was always working either part time or full time, plus I worked my way through my BSW and then my MSW. My undergrad degree required 15 hours per week of UNPAID internship too. And yes I was also divorced, but not getting child support. So I do sort of 'envy' all her daily free time to go to college to get a proper degree, work a part time job, do loving things for her children, visit with family members during the day, decorate her home with care, do charity work on a daily or weekly basis, participate in weekday Bible study, book clubs, etc. She would feel so refreshed, fulfilled and centered when her children get home from school so she can greet them happily and lovingly. The kinds of things ALL US MOMS do when we see that school bus pull up. You know; ALL US MOMS who are STICKING TOGETHER.

My days were so busy, and I took evening and weekend classes too. Just trying to get it all in. So I do kind of envy her all her free time during the day, with hired help to run her house, she could be doing a lot of fulfilling things during the day.

Quotes from Kate's blog:

Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it. (CHERISH IT? UH, NO, "MEMORIES" IS PLURAL...SHOULD BE "CHERISH THEM.")

— Unknown

Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at it destination full of hope. ("IT" DESTINATION...UH, NO, SHOULD BE "ITS DESTINATION." SHE CAN'T EVEN PROOFREAD.)

— Maya Angelou

If Kate was in NY to be on this radio show, she will probably stay all weekend and be on the View on Monday. Hopefully this means the kids will be with their Dad for Halloween and they can at least have some fun!! But wasn't last weekend Jon's weekend? Oh,who knows anymore!! Maybe she'll wear a mask and we won't see her face!!

I realize there is a new post up (and one that is actually relevant), but I wanted to say something in support of New Marie.....

I agree with her except that anyone here is jealous. It's never been about jealousy for me, and I don't think it is for most of the other posters on anti-Gosselin blogs.

However, I do think it has a lot to do with making yourselves feel superior. If it wasn't, the nitpicking wouldn't be followed up with comments about how you live your own life.

Snark is one thing, but after snarking at something for years and saying the same thing that everyone else is saying over and over every day, how much fun is it? Concern for the health of someone else is one thing. Continual bashing of someone's hair, legs, clothing, skin, body parts, etc. is quite another. I don't believe that the majority of people here are truly concerned about Kate's health. Plenty of celebrities, and non-celebrities, deny that they have had work done. Plenty of mothers wear high heels. Plenty of people lose a lot of weight and tan and end up looking older. Plenty of celebrities get too thin and have their picture taken and set a bad example for young people as to "what is healthy." While none of these things are attractive qualities, they are not in any way unique to Kate.

Yes, Kate is using money earned partially by her children to buy material things and on her own personal appearance. But for now, she is doing those things within the scope of the law. And now she is attempting to earn a living on her own. Until she is found guilty of not setting aside the legal amount of money from her children's earnings, or until her kids end up on the street because she has failed to take care of them, then she is not breaking any laws (in this area.)

I bet we all know people who claim poverty in some areas but then you see them spending money willy nilly in others. Everyone has different priorities. We may find it sad that her children don't take gymnastics, but parents don't owe their children extra-curricular activities. The Gosselins have chosen private school, a large home, name-brand clothing, and expensive hair for mom. Someone else with similar income may choose public school, a small home, clothes from Target, haircuts from Perfect Look, and extra curricular activities.

continue..

As far as the laws Kate IS breaking, then really, law enforcement should be in charge of that. She has gotten several speeding tickets. Eventually she will be ticketed for parking in the fire zone. (I also agree with whoever it was that said that UPS bears some responsibility here. They should be telling her to not park there and refuse to serve her until she moves.) And leaving kids of her children's ages in the car is likely not illegal.*

*Was it wise to do it for that long? Probably not, but all of the things that people mentioned that could go wrong are very unlikely - Set the car on fire with a lighter? (Well, there would have to be a lighter and I really doubt there was.) Put the car into gear and roll away? (Have you ever tried that with an automatic that is turned off and in park?) Something go wrong and they are trapped in the car and can't get out? (They are 7 and 11, not infants. Chances are they could get out faster on their own than with an adult helping them.) Abduction? (Really? With the doors locked, in broad daylight, in a busy parking lot, with 7 of them to make a ruckus if someone bashed in the window with a crowbar?) Hurting each other? (Well maybe, but no more likely (probably much less likely) than they would if they were playing in the basement at home, so one child gets out of the car and goes to get Kate in the same amount of time it would take to get her at home.) Fighting? (Maybe, but once again, the same amount of likelihood as at home, and really - who cares?)

I'm not taking my toys and going home. I am interested in this topic and for some odd reason, like to hear about what Kate is up to. But I also think there are a lot of people here who need to step back and take a look at what they are saying and why they are saying it.

On to read the horrible post about the J&K+8 writer. :-(

Administrator said... For the sheeple dropping bombs here today....please explain why it's a-okay for Kate to park in a fire lane.

On second thought, don't bother. There's really nothing you can say.

Actually she is wrong to park in the fire lane. I don't dispute that actually her behavior at the best of times is disgusting. I hate that she is a rule breaker seems to get all the breaks even when she is wrong. I could go on about what makes her wrong personality wise but won't no I don't recall saying anyone was jealous of Kat and I am actually sorry I wastted the time coming out of view only to share an opnion. I wish you all the best have a nice day.

Kate isn't just a rule breaker, she is a scofflaw. What a horrible example for her children as well as the children who have adopted her as a role model.
