Figure 8 calls arrest of Jon and Kate Plus 8 editor for child porn 'shocking'

In a brief statement, Figure 8 (the company that produced Jon and Kate) says Blankinship, who was contracted by them, has been fired, and [thankfully] never had direct contact with any of TLC's 'talent'

It's just ignorant for the sheeple to suggest that pedophiles aren't interested in very young children, even babies. Their preferences are all across the board. They need only read a psychology textbook sometime, or does it have too many big words? And for that matter, you don't usually potty train babies. These Gosselin kids were toddlers and young children when they were potty trained. As I recall the boys were there or four or nearly so by the time Kate got around to it, she delayed training the boys and boys usually take longer anyway. There was no "baby" sitting on that potty.

And let's think about this logically. If Blankinship didn't have interest in children of this age group, why was every darn project on his resume except for one little short about CHILDREN, YOUNG CHILDREN????

The other Figure 8 folks have a wide variety of projects on their resume not just projects about kids. It's creepy in light of what we know about him now.

I live one County over from K8. We had about six inches of snow. In my neighborhood alone there are two power grids. It wasn't until my sister called to ask if I had power did I realize our street had power but the rest of the neighborhood did not. My sister 5 mi up the road did not, my mother 5 mi the other direction did not. So it is very sporadic. There were widespread outages and Berks got about 8 inches of snow. Nevertheless, it melted today, there was no need to panic, K8 should have made it a fun adventure. PS guess whose mother bunked with her last night. :/

Admin, you're right. Pedophiles are a heterogeneous group; they each have their own interests and fixations, including infants. Some will fantisize about a child or picture of a child they find attractive. Some cut and past or photoshop faces onto other bodies I'm not going to elaborate because posters here understand this and the fans appear to be uneducable.
I have read that there are porn sites dedicated to each of these 8 children. I do not know if this is true but it is more than possible.
I strongly advocate for federal laws about any filimng of children for public viewing.

Not that I am a regular View watcher, but the fact that they continue to invite this shrill, shrewish below D-lister onto the show gives me even more of a compelling reason to not tune in. She brings NOTHING to the table.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think she fits right in with the other no-talented,no-class,loud mouth, D Listers that sit at that table 5 days a week.
The rest of their time is spent at the plastic surgeons office for botox and plastic surgery.
Barbara Walters face has been stretched so many times,her skin is wrapped around the back of her head!
They deserve Kate Gosselin, as they are as dumb as she is.
Donna said...
The only good thing that can come out of her being on the View tomorrow is that they might rake her over the coals regarding the child porn distribution. It was on my MSN homepage this morning with the Gosselin name attached to the headline. I can't imagine that Joy Behar won't mention it. I hope that it's more than mentioned; I hope that all of the ladies hold Kate accountable and hold her feet to the fire. I think it is more than ironic that this scandal has come to light right before Kate is going to appear on the View. I think there may be some karma at work here.
What do you all think? Will the topic be brought up on the View tomorrow? If so, will it be just in passing or will they really make Kate squirm in the "chair" that she so covets?
I want to watch the View tomorrow but I don't want to raise their ratings for fear that they will invite her back. I suggest that one person here agree to watch and give us a review of tomorrow's show. That way the rest of us can find out what happens without raising the ratings of the show. What do you think, Admin? Would you be able to watch the View tomorrow and give us a recap?
A few years ago we had a huge winter storm and power was out for two days (one night). My sister and I had four youngsters (2 yrs, 3 yrs and 2 4 yr. olds). After about three hours and the storm worsening, I phoned her and suggested she and the children come to our house - we have a wood burning fireplace, she doesn't. We spent the time in our family room reading and playing with the children. The fire kept us warm and provided enough brightness to light up the room (almost). I even cooked in the fireplace - I had kept the oven racks from my old stove and used them to bar-b-que hot dogs for lunch and steak and baked potatoes for supper. I don't think the then 2 yr. old 'remembers' it now but the then 3 and 4 yr. olds talk about how much fun it was, he joins in too.
Kate talks about making memories for the children but I think she messed up big time again yesterday. Instead of grouching about missing her coffee she could have turned it into one of her 'fun, fun' days that she is always talking about.
If she really missed her caffeine, she could have tried a 'cola' - lots of cold caffeine.
I'm amazed that after all this time there are still people who think that someone on some show is going to rake Kate over the coals for something. It's not going to happen, NEVA! While Whoopi may get a jab in, maybe, someone else will stick up for her. Maybe that's why The View has Kate on, the ratings go up because people watch hoping someone will kick Kate's behind.
Always Skeptical said...
Donna...Admin works. How can she watch it?
Why don't you watch it and recap it? You want to watch it anyway.
I wouldn't watch it if you paid me. Never do.
Westcoaster said...
There will be no raking over the coals tomorrow, all they ever want to do is play kissy face with her. The segment will be a yawn, and unless anyone wants to play a drinking game at 9 am with K8's "ums", me, I would rather have a root canal than watch any minutes of The View.
Dallas Lady said...
I really don't think, in the big picture of the media world, she's considered *important enough* to rake over any coals.
Note: kids are gone, tweeting stops. Amazing!
Mimi to 3 said...
Here's a question no one has asked -- why did the kids not go to Jon for the overnight since he is, after all, oh you know, THEIR father. I am sure she acts as though he doesn't exist and wouldn't think of giving them to him when it's her time -- unless it suits her needs, like when she came home from Australia absolutely exhaustedish and needed someone to take them off her hands.
No way will Kate be raked over the coals, yes she will be treated with kid gloves, if anyone even gets close to asking anything she doesn't like, watch her mouth tighten and her jaw start working. She might squeeze out a tear or two to get them to back off -- and they will, they always do.
Pray for the g8 said...
I'm guessing that Kate prob set some ground rules -no asking about certain stuff, etc...and threatened to walk off the stage if anything is asked. Someone on the Today show said something like that - she was the most difficult person to work with and basically said that if she doesn't get her way she would leave - Google that..
So I'm guessing that she eas her usual diva-esq behavior. She is so pathetic - thinks she is God's gift. If thats the case I want a refund.
Sorry everyone - I was looking at the line up for the Rosie Show, not The View. Guess I got too excited not seeing her name. I don't plan to watch. The co-hosts don't even like her. I'm sure her manager begged and pleaded for the show to book the no-talent.
How about Kate takes a rule she applies to her kids, with a bit of a twist:
You get what you get, and you don't get upset.
You don't get everything you want in life, so don't get upset if you can't make The View.
Gayle said...
The ladies (and I use the term loosely) on the View can only talk with guests on the topics written on the blue cards. Kate will get a pass as usual and will play the victim.
I'll Tivo it in case they actually ask her about Blankinship but I work for a living. I hope she's practicing what she's going to say in front of the mirror, she needs it.
I detest the View, hated it since day one. I think it's a disgrace to women. I think it's phony the way they only just last month ripped into Kate, and now are having her back on the show and it'll be all smiles and laughter. I don't see how that is fulfilling as a job.
Westcoaster said...
There is no high road in commercial tv; K8 may be beyond difficult to work with, but someone pulls a string, calls in a favor and voila, five more minutes in 'her' View chair. The hypocrisy is amazing, but surprising, no. And she NEVER gets any good press from any of these appearances. It has yet to sink in that yes, the shows will have for a NY minute, but offer her a job, hardly.
It will never happen. They won't rake her over anything, coals or the yard. I would be surprised if the porno sandal is even mentioned. She will talk about the auction for lunch and her running, and maybe a word or two about how surprised she was at the cancellation of the show, but that with all endings, there will be a good beginning. There won't be time for any other questioning - her umm, likes, umm, honestly, will eat up much of her allotted time.
I'm not watching. I can't stand to her her talk. It grates on the nerves too much. No worries...somebody will watch, report on it, and the full scoop will be readily available.
There will never be anyone who asks her any hardball questions.
Why didn't the kids go to Jon's? because that would have meant Kate altering the almighty visitation schedule and letting Jon have the kids more than he's 'allowed' and doing something that had the kids' best interests in mind rather than her own. It's all about Kate and controlling others and never about the kids or what is best for them.
Dallas Lady said...
I'll go ahead and make my prediction: Kate's segment will be pretty short. The only gist of the questions she'll get will be along the lines of how are you coping since the show was canceled and she'll do that thing where she pauses a bit too long and says, "Um, well. You know, hard." Then she makes this facial expression called "Poor Me." Fascinating stuff, that.
If I weren't at work and actually knew people in person who knew who Kate was, we could do a drinking game. Take a sip for every uh or um, take two sips for every "honestly," take a whole shot if she slams Jon.
Problem is, even with a 90 second segment, you'd end up half drunk. I'm not watching it and wouldn't watch it. I'm sure a re-cap will be online somewhere, and I think her part will be pretty boring. Maybe the View will dress her up in something intentionally ridiculous. That WOULD be funny.
What friend, Kate? said...
No offense to her kids, but WHO else but Jon or a paid sitter would take them? Even if they're split up, that's a lot of kids and more telling, more people for the unloved Kate to ask favors of. The kids are often unruly, violent, and whiny. What 'friend' does Kate even have and who would sign up for that mess? Especially on a school night. Even if my kids played with the G8, I wouldn't volunteer to have those kids cooped up in my home. The disruption would be too much.
Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...
She doesn't have friends. She does have a slave or two left like Carla. I would bet money it was Carla.
You know this situation was such a perfect example of what happens when your relationship with your ex is terrible and you've estranged or alienated almost all of your friends and family. 99% of the time you can get by on your own. But that 1% such as this one? Can be really tough.
It probably WAS way more dramatic for Kate that it would have been for other people, because other people can turn to family and friends for help and support.
She did this to herself.
What friend, Kate? said...
Admin, how true. My ex and I went thru a rough patch when we were divorcing, but once everyone calmed down, cooperation commenced. We fiddle with the custody schedule if someone's out of town, working late, etc. we both do each other favors and it's win-win especially for the kids. During power outages, sometimes one house Is involved and the other isn't. The whole family will migrate to the house with the power. If Kate weren't do bullheaded, myopic, and almost certainly alcoholic, she'd see the advantages to cooperating with the FATHER OF HER FRICKIN KIDS. Sheesh. Too resentful and angry to see how self-defeating and harmful her actions are. Those miserable kids suffer mightily.
Grammy of nine said...
You know, I can't stand to hear Kate's voice either. So glad to hear I'm not the only one who feels that way. Not sure if this is a new episode but just turned to Sister Wives and the husband called his teenage son a "monster."
When will these parents and TLC stop???
Lake Up North said...
Oh thank goodness Kate survived a little over 24 hours without modern conveniences! What in the world would we do if Kate didn't make it? Yeah, that's right I could care less she had to suck it up and live through this "tradgety."
I couldn't imagine Kate on her show Twist of Kate helping other mother's in worse of circumstances if she's this whinny about losing power for a day.
A lot of people deal with losing power, it happens. Her own admission of not being prepared it's just speaks to her inability to think ahead, think about anyone other than herself. If she is too afraid to light a match or a candle, is she just not going to teach this to her children in an emergecy? You get overself and do what needs to be done regardless that you might actually have to go without Twitter for a little while.
Heaven forbid she has to live through an earthquake or any other natural disaster without Twitter! Oh it just would devestate us all. Not!
As far as her appearing on The View, boy am I ever glad I've never watched. I've got a list of things to do that involve more than laundry and cooking an exercise to keep me busy. Now what was I supposed to do tomorrow...oh yeah, take my kids trick or treating! That's right. People who have lots of kids don't make it as an excuse it's too hard you just do it and have fun with it. I will NOT be in the car, I'll be out with my kids, their moms and some of their friends. Oh for Pete's sake- the woman cannot handle being without power? We live in an area that regularly has storms bad enough to knock out our whole town (and other area towns) on a somewhat regular basis. When it happens I am witness to an entire community who looks out for one another, checks on one another, and pulls together to make sure everyone is safe. We went through a horrible blizzard last year. People with working fireplaces and generators opened their homes/buildings/businesses and those with vehicles that could get through the snow went door to door to check on others-even total strangers. After the blizzard passed, people got outside and worked with one another to clear walkways and streets. Groups of kids/teenagers went out to shovel and sweep. When offered money, these incredible young people repeatedly refused and asked instead the money be donated to the local food pantry. We didn't worry about whether we had coffee- we worried that our elderly and those with very small children had a warm place to stay and enough food. There were many cold peanut butter sandwiches consumed, but we had a great time making them. We figured out ways to amuse ourselves and, frankly, had a really fun time. It's all about perspective. We were inconvenienced but let's face it- a few days' inconvenience is nothing compared to what many in the world suffer on a daily and ongoing basis.
Gimme a break. Shouldn't everyone uphold the law, not just lawyers? It's actual lay people, juries, who are charged with innocent until proven guilty. Lawyers are charged with defending parties or prosecuting parties.
This was a huge bust and an arrest always requires probable cause. I happen to think a lot of people are innocent too, like Amanda Knox. I make my own judgements based on the facts and sometimes I'm right, sometimes I"m not. There was no oath I took that suggested that I cannot have an opinion about what is going on in the news on a case I am not involved in. What do you think Nancy Grace, a lawyer, does? Lawyers all the time provide commentary.
NO. At the bare minimum he should have asked me to leave. I was in no way threatening Kate and never would dream of doing that to her or anyone. I could have sued him, he's not a cop and has no right to touch me absent a threat, but that's not the kind of person I am. It was worth it to report back to the blog that only about 10 people were there (which in fairness, was not Kate's fault at all, but rather the fault of her PR team who apparently didn't give an F). Then the sheeple called me a liar that there were 100's upend 100's of adoring Kate fans there! And then on Inside Kate's World several months later, Kate HERSELF said yeah about ten people were there and I was so embarrassed I was crying in a utility closet and Steve had to talk me into coming back out.
It was also worth it to laugh with the reporter from Radar Online who was really nice about how initially, Kate was set up just outside the escalator in Barnes and Noble in full view where everyone could see her, but when Kate saw how few people were there to see her, she was mortified and demanded they move her entire signing area in between two bookshelves in this teeny, tiny area.
Bizarre, weird, wtf. I guess she thought if the area were smaller, the amount fo people there would appear to be more??? LOL, it's not a dinner plate!!
*** WARNING: this post contains insight into the mind of a sheeple ***
My mother is a sheeple. I left the other day's post, the first one with the pic of the perv, up for her to read. the next day, I asked her what she thought. She replied, sort of defensively, "Well I'm sure he's not the only person in tv who looks at pornography!!"
HELLO?!?!?
I explained that it's CHILD pornography. I don't care if adults who are of age to consent participate in porn, this is CHILDREN in sexual poses, or worse. She just repeated, "well he's not the only one!"
I let it go; I didn't see any point in responding. This woman has always been dense, but this still surprised me. She doesn't get the outrage over kate, and never will.
However, I also must say that she is also quite naive; the only person I've ever met who LOVED 12 years of catholic school. I don't think she realizes what people may be inclined to do while looking at porn. She probably thinks people look at porn as nonchalantly as she reads TV Guide. I also think that she thinks Playboy is as bad as porn gets, so she truly can't imagine what this guy is into.
Like kate, everything is always about her. She can never imagine being in someone else's position. To her, this means imagining how SHE would feel in a given situation; not necessarily how the other person feels.
She probably visualizes this man looking at cute pics of the Gosselin kids, and thinking, "awww, so-and-so is so cute!" because that is what SHE would think. The fact that creeps fantasize about children and get off on looking at pictures of children, and worse, doesn't cross her mind. Sad.
Is it possible it finally hit Kate, even if a tiny bit that she wasn't as important to the world as she thought she was?
I haven't read her last book, I don't see the point if all I've heard is she insulted her own kids throughout the book, (i.e. how difficult they are to raise, how strong they need to be, how she's mom hear her roar (wtf with that?).
I think that might be what the problem is with a lot of sheeple. Because many are narcissists themselves, it is very difficult for them to put themselves in another person's shoes. Because THEY cannot imagine ever being interested in the Gosselin children's videos or photos in a sexual way, they refuse to believe anyone else would.
Whereas most people, those who are not pedophiles, are nonetheless able to imagine how this sort of thing might be of interest to a pedophile. It by no means ever means that we ourselves would ever have that interest, as they liked to imply- in fact the fact that they accused us of being sexually deviant ourselves speaks to their sheer lack of ability to imagine something bad happening here, as we have. And points to narcissism.
Kate too cannot imagine anyone else perceiving the world differently or making different decisions--hence why we here a lot of "You would do it too!"
She cannot understand, no we f-ing wouldn't.
Kate moving to a tiny spot between two bookshelves makes sense, really. That way, when so few came, she could blame the location. "Who would think to come see me between two bookshelves? They would have expected me to more visible and probably thought they had the time wrong. Nobody even knew I was there!"
Oh, excuse me....that would be !!!!!!!!!!
I think so. If that footage of her crying in the closet was any indication. I think it cut her down to size. I kind of felt bad for her, a tiny bit, because it was obviously a complete failure on the part of her PR team. We knew beforehand they weren't advertising it hardly at all. I knew right then her PR was inept, didn't have very much respect for her, and had done a horrible job on this project. ANd I felt bad because Kate was so darn green she didn't have the first clue how to deal with this debacle as other celebs would, for starters, getting every darn PR person on the phone to explain themselves. She obviously had no control over them and they were doing whatever with her without a care.
Food for thought though, when your PR team adores you and you're kind to them and you respect each other, book signings tend to be well attended because they WANT to work for you to make sure people show up.
Ruth Madoff: "I'm being completely honest I have to say." Where have i heard that before?
This is so true. She can't handle anything. It just dawned on me that no wonder she feels she needs more money - even more than the millions she has. It's because she can't handle anything by herself. She needs help with situations most of us would consider minor.
And btw, I believe she always has someone there to deal with the kids - even in a blackout I think her help was there taking care of things for the kids.
I hope so. 8 kids in pitch darkness, running around with flashlights sounds like a recipe for
somebody getting hurt at some point. If all the toys and game pieces weren't picked up from before the storm, that could mean a lot of accidents right there.
Don't you wish somebody could turn Kate's power off?
Yes, Admin, NO WE WOULDN'T!! Such a seemingly simple concept, people thinking differently from how you think.
Just because J&k thought it was a great idea to put their lives out there for all to see, that does not mean that everyone would do it, if given the opportunity.
Jon realized it was a mistake, and that they put the kids out there for E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E in the world to see. kate still sees nothing wrong with that choice. Which is why we continue to voice our "disagreeance," sheeple.
btw, did she REALLY write that to PP&L, about the kids wanting breakfast, and she needed her coffee? Please tell me it was a joke.
Fidos Kate crammed in between two bookshelves was truly the most bizarre thing in the world, I've never seen anything like it and I've stumbled upon a lot of book signings because i frequent the bookstores in LA which has a lot. THis is the first I ever waiting in line for though and from what i've seen I got really lucky with just a two minute wait! People wait hours!
Here's a photo of it where Kate happens to be standing up, hard to tell with all the stupid boom mics, but on the right you can see a big bookshelf, and just beyond the left divider, there is another bookshelf. In other words, crammed in a tiny space between two bookshelves.
If other stars who live and work in Hollywood or LA and can go about their business sans bodyguards, why does Kate need a bodyguard in rural PA? I don't think anybody would truly bother her if she was running to store.
Is Steve even still around? I mean Jon never had a bodyguard and he seems to think it's safe to take all 6 or 8 kids out where he lives with no bodyguard.
It kind of screams, "Look and me, Look at me!" What a show off.
Kind of? Kind of? Of the dozens I've seen over the years, I have never, ever seen a celeb just out in public with a body guard. A friend of mine once saw Brittany Spears with a bodyguard at Starbucks, but that was because she actually needed it--- that was during the Brittany seatbelt-gate where she was caught driving her son in her lap without a belt and the paparazzi were hounding her. She NEEDED a bodyguard.
Steve doesn't bodyguard her anyway, when I saw him, he was busy holding some papers and chatting up fans enjoying himself. He had her nowhere in his sights. There were real bodyguards there who were doing the dirty work, as you can see from my picture, the guy with a badge. Steve is Kate's beard.
I know you work, Admin. I'm sorry I asked.
Always Skeptical, I am fully aware that Admin works. I thought she could tape it. She does great recaps, much better than I could ever do. I can't watch because my fiance is dying of liver cancer and has a doctor's appt in the morning. The only reason I am interested in watching tomorrow is to see if they ask her about the scandal. (I normally never watch the View. I think it's boring.) I don't own any recording devices so I can't record it. Again, I'm sorry I even brought it up. I didn't know it would ruffle feathers.
Ok, so I'm a Texas gal that had never even seen snow until we moved to Georgia. This past winter we had one snow storm followed the next day by an ice storm that literally trapped us (and all my neighbors) on our cul de sac. Never knew that itty bitty hill would mean we're stuck. My hubby works nights & was the only truck that was on the other side of the hill. Of course, it took him 4 hours to drive to work 20 minutes away the night before. I've never driven on snow or ice. I just stay home...lol I KNOW that I wouldn't know what I'm doing & would be scared, which increases the chance of having a problem. So I don't do it.
All that said, I was more prepared than Kate. I have 2 fireplaces, made sure we had firewood. Covered doors & doorways with blankets to conserve the heat the fireplaces put out. Coming from hurricane land, if it rains too hard, I fill the bathtub "just in case". How difficult is it to have candles & a lighter tucked away in a drawer? I keep 3 hurricane lamps sitting on a shelf in my closet, again "just in case". If there's a chance you'll lose power, turn the icebox up to get it as cold as possible before you do. Move anything you'll need into a central area before you lose power.
Aren't these things common sense? Especially if you have even just 1 kid, much less 8? Or does my hurricane upbringing mean I have more common sense as to what to do "just in case" you lose power in a storm?
We had a nasty rain storm come thru here this spring. On the day I had a bunch of people coming over to play trivial pursuit. The 100+ year old oak tree at the 4 way stop was struck by lightening & took out all the power lines for the entire town when it fell. We were low on the totem pole when it came to getting power back when the police station & fire station aren't working either. We actually played trivial pursuit in the dark. And had a BLAST. power came back on around 2 am & we were still having fun. While it was daylight, I gathered up every decorative candle out of every bathroom (haha) I could find and put them on my silver platters I use for holidays. We had more light than the flashlight could put out. THAT'S "Can Do".
Thanks to whoever asked about the cats. Turns out they were both shut in the basement for 8-10 hours - how that happened I have no idea! Luckily I reached my neighbor at about 7:30 a.m. and she came and rescued us. Once they finished stomping around on me and settled down, I managed to get to sleep for a bit.
Teresa, thanks again for hanging out with me last night. It was a big help! I sent Admin my phone number - if you want to do the same maybe she can get us together.
I am not sure why I am still amazed at Kate's lack of preparation, being the Super Mom she claims to be. In the end of August 2011, my area had a record breaking amount of rain, and a hurricane which resulted in a lot of flooding and power loss. (About an hour and half from Kate). There were local warnings non-stop in advance and we all took it seriously. Imagine having both wick candles, battery candles, flashlights, batteries, a gas powered generator, water, and non-perishable foods.... We were without power for over 3 days; PSE&G was not taking calls, only a message advising it could be up to a week until power restored, due to the volume effected. We hooked my neighbor on to our generator, as his basement was flooded in 2 feet of water.
Likewise, with the recent snow storm, there were a lot of warnings. Not only did Kate not prepare (with 8 kids) but proceeded to bitch about her trees being destroyed and how she could not afford to replace them, asking her power company to restore her power so she could make pancakes and coffee in the morning, and noted how freezing cold she was. What a selfish unprepared moron. The Mastermind.
I still can not understand WHY she is still invited on The View. What a toxic waste of space. Will not be watching (work) so I would love to hear an update.
Finally, I am utterly amazed how sheeples don't comprehend that Child Pornography involves images. Kate and Jon both chose to film their kids (hours to get one episode filmed), much which was never seen. A predator's dream come true, with the editing process. Jon even noted what he was exposing his kids to, Kate didn't give a crap as long as the money rolled in. I am not saying either set their kids up for this, but when you choose to endlessly film your kids, are often NOT there when filming goes on (she can't be everywhere with 8 kids) and push for the filming to continue no matter what, you DO have some responsbility for exposing the kids to this possibility so neither is blameless. I won't even go in to how ignorant and uninformed the sheeple are on this issue.
I was reading through Kate's twitters from Saturday during the storm....and my impression is that all the helplessness she portrayed was gross exaggeration that she did purposely....possibly because it was one of the rare times she was actually with the kids by herself, so to her it was like the event of the century in her OWN life.
You know how someone you are talking to is giving you just way too much information and detail? Way more than necessary? Often, this is indicative of lying but in this case, it's the added repetition of the details of a rather routine situation.....telling it as if nobody else in Pennsylvania was going through the same thing....as if this was a one in a million unique experience for her.....which it probably WAS, in terms of her being alone with the kids and having to manage and to make decisions by herself. OMG, look at me...actually dealing with my own kids at home, in a snowstorm no less, without help! I'm actually doing it!
She has occasionally tweeted and/or blogged in a way that made me suspicious that it was one of the rare few times she was actually doing what she was writing about.....not something she did routinely as this over-worked, busy model mom. She just made too big of a deal of it to the point where I suspected that she rarely did what she was describing.
I know narcissists are prone to exaggeration and drama....but this is a little more than that. It's writing as if it's the first time she has ever done this (whatever she's describing) and is even amazed at herself that she is doing it. Which would be no big deal...if not for the fact that she pretends that she does all this stuff all the time (takes care of her own children, does her own laundry, cleans, cooks, chats with her own children, etc.).
It would be as if one of us was posting about making, let's say, chocolate chip cookies....but making such a huge production out of it that it would begin to look suspect.
Gosselin8ComeFirst said...
dde3- Very valid points. I also believe that Kate is rarely alone with the kids, and goes way overboard on the few occassions she is. She simply can not handle any problem without drama, so I agree, this was one of the few times she actually handled her own kids alone without help.
She really does suck at being a mom after all of the years. Guess that is what happens when you have constant help to deal with any crisis. You then worry about tres, pancakes, and being cold (only yourself being cold; it is up to the nanny to worry about the 8 kids being cold- THAT IS HER JOB!!
Preesi - I wasn't prepared. I was in complete denial that it was going to happen. It wasn't supposed to change over until evening & it changed at 8 a.m. Luckily, we didn't lose power, but we would have been in a world of hurt if we had.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii said...
It's been said here many times, in different words, that Kate not only lies but she believes her lies. She said it clear herself. When life isn't fun, she dreams. That is how she can believe her own lies. My mother does the same thing and did it all our lives. With my mom, the hard thing was that if she planed an activity and we didn't react the way she pictured it in her head, she threw the guilt trips. Remember Disneyland, she fussed so much when she saw it. She was all giddy and said "look, were there, where dreams come true." That's when I knew she was there for herself, not the kids. I think that is why she really doesn't enjoy being with the kids. She wants all "the frills" but she has to drag all the kids along to get them and that ruins it for her. That's why she is so harsh on the kids if they have a meltdown. How dare they spoil all the fun. That's why she has to ruin all their fun if she not enjoying it herself. Remember Alaska? Remember how happy she was teasing Jodi about having the grumpy kids in their bus. When Jodi said they were having fun and they were eating, the meltdown hit. Kids having fun on the raft, she had to make it miserable. She had fun attacking Jodi's son with the mud, not hers. At the sky tower, the girls were having fun so she was afraid of heights. If that is so true, how was she able to stand rite at the fence at the Grand Canyon. She banned the twins to the bus while she had fun. How did she get the picture of her and the twins, again at the fence, with the Grand Canyon behind them. And one more thing, how did she climb the tree house if she was so deathly afraid of heights.
I know this is long but one more thing. When the kids are old enough to really understand that "I just want you to know," was supposed to be letters to them and not a book, all the "things she sacrificed for them", is going to be all gone. Hummm, that will make it a fiction book, not letters.
