On Today, Kate calls Jon's job out of the public eye 'mediocre'
Kate makes the rounds of Today and the Wendy Williams show this morning. Will anyone bother to question Kate, who has been on a poor me tour this week claiming to be "terrified" and "freaking out" about the future, about this little purchase she successfully hid from the public since April?

While I'm venting...I have a child who desperately wants to be an actor, has said that since he was 4. No way in hell will I pursue this for him...he can take classes at the local theatre, perform in plays, and chase that dream when he turns 18:) Kids are not a parental meal ticket!

Michelle, I have to say I disagree. I think that there will be a number of her haters that will be visiting the site and commenting, if that is allowed. She's not running the site herself, is she? I'm assuming she has a webmaster? Is that what Steve may be doing for her now, as her new manager?
Personally, she should have had this site up years ago if she was going to try and market herself in this way. The fact that she hasn't is just now too little too late, IMO.

Over here. In the corner! ME! Very happy marriage now of 22 years, love our mediocre home on our mediocre acre, our family and friends, my mediocre kitchen and cooking from scratch, love my part time private practice, and my 4 educated successful happy kids that make Kate look like the ill-bred skank that she is.
Oh, and my 36 year old daughter is returning this week from a month in Australia and NZ with her on-leave soldier husband and another couple. She will return to work on her dissertation for her doctorate in computer-something. (what do I know...?) Wish I could post a photo of her, so y'all could compare one 36 year old to another.
Getting off the "mediocre" topic for a moment, I'm struggling to understand what could have been so "stressful" about the RV trip that she thinks could justify her behavior. She didn't have to drive, didn't have to plan any activities, didn't have to stand in line at any attractions. Including Steve, there was a 2 to 5 adult-to-kid ratio -- typical for most families. The RV's were top of line -- about the biggest you can get and loaded with every amenity. The way they were split up, they shouldn't have felt crowded at all. Most people take that trip with one minivan and make do just fine. But look at the previews for tonight -- whining about bad conditions, tight quarters, boo hoo. I can't believe anyone but her most rabid fans will buy into this crap. Oh, and she has the nerve to say that Ashley was being over dramatic. Hilarious.
I will not go to her website and give her any hits. I smell a reason for this....perhaps to compile recipes, stories, etc. for a book or sell something. It's not about sharing for her, it's about using. She did say on WW that she would like to talk to other moms and give advice, so I foresee there is some ulterior motive for this. Maybe she wants to be the next Dr. Phil for moms? Maybe some type of advice columnist for a magazine? I don't think doing this kind of thing will pay the mortgage or Steve's salary.
So I guess she's a "mediocre" website moderator? Now that the site just went it up, it's clear she has hired someone to put it together since she's on the road today harping about Jon.

Wow, this sooo busy mommy of 8 will not only run this site, twitter away, run 11 miles a day, drive her convertible around to save gas, BUT take care of 8 kids EVERY DAY.Wow. I didn't realize until looking at yfrog just now that her tweet this morning about the kids and her deserving "the best" and thanking a fan for "kind" words was actually in response to a tweet that said the fan was glad Kate was done with Jon and that she deserved better. What a c**t she is, and I think I have used that word maybe 10 times in my 51 years.
Well, I said in a post on a previous thread, that Kate had something going on, that she was too calm and not too up-set about K8 being canceled, that she had something on the stove. So she is going to do or already filmed a couple of episodes(according to the article) of this kids show. Is this kid show filmed in LA? If so when did she go to LA? And moving to a wed-site, probably means she is moving away from Tweeter. She grifted a bag from Wendy Williams, called the average American and everyone else, mediocre, and that TV is for her not nursing(gee can't get our germaphobic hands dirty by taking care and cleaning sick patients, nursing is a dirty job)and admitted that Jon was right, reality TV is not a career. And when did kate have that production meeting, then got on titter and said everything was ok and more K8, cause Kate said on the Today show, she know the last time she was on the Today show that K8 was already canceled. Well, Kate just blew any chances of making it big in Hollywood. 1 , bash Jon, 2 lie about cancelation, 3, call everyone who is not in TV, (fans and TV watchers) mediocre people(lameos, mundanes etc)4 refer to nursing as working too hard of a job, and nursing as a low paying career vs TV. The main thing that set her off was no microwave nor DVD player, they quite working due to some problem. The DVD player was to entertain the kids with the 200 DVD's she brought. Because Kate CANNOT play with her own kids. Then the RV kept having problems until it broke down all together. SUCH a terrible thing to endure. LOL

Kate doesn't do anything for free. I see her starting this site ... downloading videos of the kids/giving out recipes/workout advice/etc ... getting the sheep hooked and then suddenly crying poor. I have never disliked someone I don't know so intensely. I have no real opinions on other "celebrities". Kate just touches a visceral nerve. I do enjoy all the comments shared here, feels like a community of astute observers.
I did not think it was correct when other adults were discussing Kate's behavior in front of the children. Twins in particular were raptly listening. But, what will happen when they don't have other voices within hearing to balance her input? At least now they can see that more mature adults don't agree with her tantrums.

Kate can never make up for her comment about mediocrity via Twitter. She has way more haters than fans on Twitter. With the glam and glitz, and those vacations (which she claims are non-plush)now gone, everything in her world is going to be mediocre.
The difference between greatness and mediocrity is often how an individual views a mistake. Kate has never been able to admit to any mistakes, and therefore, is incapable of attaining the kind of greatness she thinks she deserves.
Fahnette, thanks for letting me know it's a paraody. I still think Kate has something on the stove. For nothing she is keeping purseboy around and not taking unemployment seriously. Her interviews today of what I saw, she was too calm. There is the claim in a few of the articles that Kate has been getting offers(a source says), what kind of offers? I don't really believe she has gotten anything of noteworthy good TV stuff. If she did she would be bragging. But then one has to read between the twitter posts. Kate likes to tease people, with what she is doing. Just like the car and RV trip, she mentioned it, months ago, but did not say it out right. She did it in a teasing manner, so you would not know if she was BSing or telling the truth. Kate is a little mad at Jon cause her threw truth at her and she can't stand truth.
Just like in the Q & A episode, about the divorce, Kate says everything would have turned out the way it did, even if she could have gone back and changed it. Kate you don't know that, I get the impression that Kate would not even work on saving her marriage, Jon did not see things her way, it was the highway for him. She could have save her marriage, Jon was not in her master plan. I knew someone, at one of my jobs, who had her whole life planned out. She was to graduate from college at a certain age, get a job and certain position by a certain age, get married by a certain age, have a house at a certain age and children spaced at a certain age, etc. Kate's bucket list is her master life plan. And this co-worker was a perfectionist, everything in her flat had to match, she hated arts & craft things(her mother was into A & C)she hated leftovers,etc. I use to laugh at her.
I'm proud of my mediocraty. Some of this nations greatest heroes were mediocre, like Paul Revere, he was a courier and silversmith, Joseph Plumb Martin, he was a farmer, Sam Adams was a tax collector and brewer and Captain John Parker was also a farmer. These were all great men who were mediocre. So if these are the type of people who are mediocre, I'd be proud and sit with them, have a beer, chat, have a cook out, whatever.
There is something to be said about being mediocre, don't you think?

She is dense! I wish she did have someone who could look in her eyes, make a connection and start by saying, "Dear Kate...." There is no softness in her that would allow a friend/mentor to penetrate her shield of certainty.

I'd bet more than 90% of Today's viewers were not aware of Jon's recent public advice to Khate, or even follow her drama at all. It is still used in some legal manuscripts. It's archaic, and obsolete, but it's a word nonetheless. I doubt, however, that Kate knew that when she said it.
My comment about the C&D letter was aimed at the nutty blog owner who thinks she has the inside track to all the truth Kate is telling. She is just NUTZZZZZZ. Probably not worth your time.
Did anyone catch her on Wendy Williams? I missed it, but there is a "Clip of the Day" up on the wendyshow.com site. Check it out. Wendy gives her a gag gift, which Kate clearly is not sure whether to take seriously. It's an oversized fanny-pack with 8 little bottles of hand-sanitizer dangling from clips on either side. The funniest thing, though, as Wendy clips it around her, is that Kate jokingly says something like, oh, can I fit my 8 in there? Do I look like I'm pregnant? And there is DEAD SILENCE from the audience. Not a single giggle or guffaw. Wendy doesn't even laugh. It is clear that the audience was in no way enamored of Kate Gosselin.

I find it concerning that her kids, who are so programed to believe cameras is normal but for them to constantly ask about trips, about how they will be provided for doesn't strike me as being normal kids. Most kids I know don't bother to ask first how much something cost, all I've seen is kids wanting something regardless of what it costs because it's cool or whatever. Kate should realize that kids should not need to ask her how she will provide and her comment of working her fingers to the bone...that's just not necessary I don't believe.
Well, I guess I better get back to my mediocre life of going to an ultrasound, picking my kids up, going to ballet practice, paying bills on my mediocre salary. She is such a joke and any of her remaining fans should take offense to that statement but I kind of doubt they won't.

Today is September 12, 2011 and the last show of Kate +8 and all should end. Jon is just as bad as his ex wife. He is no "real father"...he is what we call in Children's Court "a visiting father" who relinquished all responsibility of his children to his wife and TLC for $$$$ to get out of his contract and ALLOW Kate and TLC to raise those kids, on TV.

So if everything is down hill from here on out because neither Jon nor Kate can "keep those kids in private school as well as staying in a very big home with lots of private land to protect them from the public" well, what a shock to the systems of these kids.
The best thing Kate can do is get her relatives back in the lives of her children so that there is a Buffer in their fragile lives.
8 very confused, fragile, scared children is what Kate & Jon now have to deal with. All they know is filming, travel, camera crews....not relatives.
Get off the sofa Jon and get your self into court and NOW get custody EVERY WEEKEND and get yourself in shape to help your children.
As for Steve, well, they could all get honest, is Steve the lover? Be real, no one is stupid, especially not Kate's brother and his wife. Lots of people know exactly what Kate is all about.

I think when Kate said the kids were concerned about the trips, their house, and school, it is obvious she's been telling them if they don't film, then they won't have those things.
I can see her barking at the kids that if they refuse to be on camera, then it will be their fault if they lose their house. And if they don;t want to film, then they can't go to their posh school and will have to go to public school with poor kids.

Does he have a legal right to prevent Kate from including them on a public website to make money? It really is just a different form of media, and Jon wants his kids away from the media.

Yes, Layla, I have picked up on Kate's jealousy of Beth for quite some time. It became obvious and ugly. When Beth left, I stopped being a fan of the show.

Just watched the clip of the interview on People mag. I astonished how different she looks compared to even a year before. Her cheekbones, chin, and eyes.She has had work done on them, IMO. How can that be? She's so exhausted doing everything herself! Now we find out that she has a multitude of hired help (like we really didn't know that). Sheeple had believed her all along - that she did EVERYTHING! Why does she need a full-time sitter? Heck, why does she even need a sitter at all? They are in school five days a week for nine hours a day. A super mom can't watch her children from 4:30 p.m. until an early bedtime and manage to give them supper? Oh, wait, maybe the housekeeper also doubles as a cook.
Jon has them for two weekends a month. What in the name of all that's holy does this woman do all day long if she doesn't care for her children, doesn't do housework, doesn't do laundry, and doesn't do gardening or pool maintenance?
Maybe she's tired and exhausted from doing nothing - except tweeting.
I wouldn't recommend logging on to that website for a variety of reasons. The more hits she gets the better chance there is for her to reap advertising revenue. Posting anything negative on that site will be cause for concern as the webmaster, whom we don't know who that is can trace your IP address.
The fans have been known to post your information all over the internet and as deranged as some of these fanatics are, you never know who may show up on your doorstep or at your workplace.
It's one thing to go there and read, another to go there and post. Personally, I won't go there to do either. Multiple hits to that site will only keep her relevant and where she wants to be, in the public eye.

Kate is a master at spin. Maybe that is her true calling. Just because a man is married doesn't mean that he is off limits. She wants him bad. I truly believe all the physical changes have been to attract Steve.
Wordpress (which is the CMS program Kate is using on her site) will indeed log IP addresses and can ban your IP.
I would definitely recommend not going to her site.
As someone who is using Wordpress (I have also used Joomla and a couple of other CMS programs on websites) there is a lot of information you can garner from it. IE: the redirecting URL (the previous site the user came from) the IP address which will link your location and your ISP etc. If you harass on the site you will probably be banned (all it takes is the click of a mouse to do so) and your ISP could be notified and you can lose your internet privileges and have to go to another Internet Provider.
Just beware.
That said, WordPress is not infallible when it comes to spam and hacks by porn sites etc. Hopefully her webmaster is up to the task. They are constantly updating the program for security/spambot issues.

Then I watched the rv's episodes, and I have to say everything people have said negative about you in the past 3 years I have been a fan, seem true. But I think until you get control of your anger it would be in the best interest of your beautiful children to please please give them a normal childhood now. Ok, just saw Inside edition. Kate, got even lower, she out right bashed Jon, she said something about that Jon's child support, covers only the childrens lunches. What a slap in the face at Jon. Must be her revenge on him for speaking the truth, about reality TV not being a career and that she needs to get off the high horse and live a mediocre life, of normal. And she made a statement about Nursing, that she is a Nurse now. Kate you are not a Nurse now, you have a certificate of Nursing, you are NOT a practicing Nurse, you have done no Nursing in what 4-5 years, anyone can take a test, that does not make you a nurse, unless you are actually a practicing one. Kate must practice in her head. Most employers out there are looking at how long you have been unemployed, and when was the last time you did(in Kates case)Nursing. I don't think Kate even keeps up with the ever changing Nursing field or even knows what is currently going on. Geez, the woman does not even read the paper or watch the news, or probably not even anything related to the Nursing field. Cause, she is too busy, chasing Fame, and taking care of her self, her career and dealing with 8 count them 8 kids. Tina Fey has a scar on her face. She rarely talks about it, but in her book "Bossypants", she says a man slashed her in the face in an alley behind her house w/ a knife. That is all she says about it, because she doesn't want to garner sympathy, nor go into much detail about it so she has to rehash it to everyone who asks. Very dignified of her. And horrific.

Took a look at the People magazine article, I think that may be the first time she has described her kids and 95% of the description wasn't about their physical looks.

We have a speaking request. How much would it cost to request Kate never speak in public or on television again?
Could she eventually charge people to be able to access her website?
Britney Spears does, or used too. You had to, or still do have to pay to enter her website. It's 20-25 bucks a month to be a fan member of her blog. Yep! So, essentially, Kate could charge people to enter her blog. If she does that, she would lose her last remaining 7 fans. That's just shitty, IMO. She could also add some kind of Gadget that could ask for donations as well from PayPal or something. Google has something like that, I don't know if Worpress has it, but they may. Talk about GRIFTING. Adding a PayPal account to a blog? I can see if it's a charity, sure, but for an Ex-reality has-been? Bad PR move. Yet again.

I really don't even know why TLC bothered giving her this media push before the final show. Didn't she just do the whole round of media only a few weeks ago? And really, why would they care about the ratings for the very last show?
Good, I'm glad she has a website now. It surely was not HER idea, and she definitely is not running it or probably having much at all to do with it. But at least her couple dozen sheeple can now have a little playground of delusion together and take it off Twitter. I hope Kate stops tweeting and all that nonsense just ends. The non-fans need to just stay away from her website and let it be as boring as Khate and her sycophants are when they have no one to spar with, just sit and gush about what a terrific mother Khate is.
I hate to do this, but I have a quick question. I haven't been able to keep up reading all the posts the last few weeks, but I just saw a second comment that mentioned Admin being in touch with Ashley. How did I miss that? What happened and how?? I would hate to be a kid in the Gosselin house tonight...she is receiving quite the backlash on the internet about her "regular job" comment on Today, and I imagine she is not taking it well. After all the tributes regarding 9/11 yesterday, this is incredibly irritating and insensitive. She sealed her fate today.

She could charge people yes, but I have a feeling her sheeple won't be able to afford to visit the site otherwise, since according to Kate pretty much anyone with a mediocre job couldn't possibly afford anything.
I thought about it and it occurred to me, yes, Kate is scared. Scared in sense at actually working to earn something and not have it handed to her. If she stated she will work her fingers to the bone, in my opinion that would be her actually rolling up her sleeves as a nurse and working those 12 hour shifts, budgeting a paycheck, making sure her kids are clothed, fed, clean, have a place to call home. That's what working your fingers to the bone should mean to her. But no, it means whining that working would be too hard for her!
Reading the comment that she can't support her kids on a nursing salary really anyone as a nurse who has a family, small or large I apologize for Kate's behavior. It is simply unacceptable, rude, entitled and utterly insulting to those of you who are mother's who really have had and continue to work each day for your children, if you have 1 or more it should not matter. I never thought a woman could be so...so...over inflated with such ego! But I've been wrong before.

"This is not goodbye, we'll be back, I'll be back," said Gosselin, whose reality television show Kate Plus 8 was recently cancelled.
Kate Gosselin is vowing she'll be back on TV.
So what about that People magazine cover where she said she was "freaking out" about her show coming to an end?
"You've said you're freaking out," said INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander.
"I am freaking out definitely, I think I was refering to the fact that I'm unemployed," said Gosselin.
"What are you going to do now?" asked Alexander.
"I would love to have more opportunitys to speak, write a few more books. I'd love to see myself on a talk show," replied Gosselin.
Gosselin was a nurse before she gave birth to sextuplets and skyrocketed to fame on reality TV.
"Could you really see yourself going back to nursing?" Alexander asked.
"I am a nurse and I always will be a nurse, and it was a great way to provide for my kids when I had two kids. I have eight now. The scariest of scary is my fallback plan doesn't work anymore. I'd be down the street working 16-hour days every day, not seeing my kids," said Gosselin.
Her ex-husband Jon Gosselin has been critical of Kate telling the website rumorfix.com, "Kate needs to get a job now that her show is going off the air."
"Reality television is not a career. Get back to normal life, simple life, provide for your family and go from there," said Jon.
"I don't listen to his advice because he doesn't live the life that the kids and I live. It's been so long since he's been in the trenches with me and the kids," said Gosselin.
"How much is [Jon] contributing to the family finances now?" asked Alexander.
Kate answered, "I can pretty much say, Jon covers their lunch each day."
I was just thinking that in this day of continual layoffs - which have been happening for YEARS now, and a huge one was just announced today - it makes me sick that in all her interviews the hosts of these shows are acting like poor little Kate, whatever will you do for money now that the show is over?
Well, in thinking that, I realized the very PREMISE of their questions! These hosts and Kate are all acknowledging just what we've said for years - Kate's only source of income has been the kids! They're all admitting that she has lived off the kids with this show and now the money train's stopped rolling.
Maybe the weather service should put out a flood alert due to all the sheeple who are going to cry tonight.

Did anybody else catch the last segment of Ellen Degeneras where she was talking to the teacher who works in a poor school? The kids there have no idea where their next meal is coming from and take ketchup packets home from school to make ketchup soup for dinner. School is the only place they get a good meal.
Target donated $100,000.00 to the school and 600 kids got a new backpack full of books.
All I could think of was how Kate is out there right now on her media blitz to stay on tv so her kids can keep their mansion and fancy private school, and so Kate can keep her sportscar.

After listening to the promos for tonight, it seems obvious that all is not so well with Jaime nor Ashley. Ashley saying she wished she had said more, Jaime said how can you treat people who support you like that. WOW no wonder she threw them under the bus. They were HONEST and spoke out with their true feelings she is po'd. So all that "I LOVE THEM" it is "ALL OK" was just another bunch of bs from the martyr Kate. LOL I LOVE IT.
Interesting link to Inside Edition. I don't know that Jon was saying "Get a job", I took it more as "Kate's freaking out, Jon. What do you have to say?" and he said "That's up to Kate, what she does for a job. However you can return to a regular, simple life. Don't count on Reality TV to provide for you and the kids. Big families survive and thrive on regular incomes/jobs. You've got skills, you can nurse, you will survive. Don't panic or stress or worry. Things will work out."
Kate's response was basically "I don't want to give up my lifestyle and return to mediocrity. I want the $1000-2000 hair cuts, the weekly mani/pedis, the tanning, the Audi and SUV, the 26 acre mcmansion, the nannies, the gardeners, the housekeepers. I want the prestige of sending my kids to private school. I want the attention of being a celebrity and the travel and freebies/perks and dining out at expensive restaurants.
I mean I can't have all that on a nurse's salary.

I have never understood how a show about watching someone else's kids could interest anyone. If i recall correctly there were other interviews where she said she had no idea she was going to be canceled. today she told matt lauer that it wasn't a total shock because she knew they had been in the "deciding phase" for a while. yet she claims to have no money saved up and suddenly has another car. this is just another example of her not being able to keep up with her lies any more.

Was your narcissist like Kate, Admin, or could he/she see what they were doing?
I don't know about Admin's personal experience. But my mother fits the description of one and I had to cut all ties with her over a decade ago just to keep my sanity.
I was always firmly of the opinion that my mother knew exactly what she was doing and that she was keenly aware that most family and friends disagreed with how she handled relationships, with her children especially.
The difference between a narcissist and a person without those tendencies, is the defensive mechanism that refuses to allow being wrong as an option.
We're all human, we all make mistakes. Healthy people are okay with that, appreciate it and use it to develop our compassion for others. More importantly, we grow from it and develop deeper relationships with those we love.
Narcissists don't. Instead they hold firm to the belief that they are near perfect being that have been put in a shitty situation.
Anything that is "perceived" as being their "responsibility" is really just someone else's shortcoming for it not already being taken care of.
Self awareness,humility and relating to others are concepts that elude them and they see these things as trifles, not serious, worthwhile endeavours.
Narcissists are also very materialistic and see wealth and status as goals more important than intimacy and trust.
Who needs the truth when a lie will earn you big bucks? Who needs friends when I'm making all this money forsaking them?
Sadly, yes...a narcissist knows exactly what they're doing. The hard part for those of us who love one, is accepting that they don't care.

I think that Jon is probably paying child support commensurate with his salary and not with Kate's lifestyle choices which is why, in her mind, he's only paying enough to cover their lunches. So judging by the amount of food that we've seen her serve the kids for lunch (or dinner for that matter) Jon must only be paying $500 per month (said with tongue firmly in cheek).

My "sediments" exactly. Maybe TLC prevented her from having her own website? She might get lots of hits now because it was just promoted and is brand new; however, once the series finale hype dies down and if not much content is added, it'll be hard to attract and keep repeat visitors i.e. GWOP.
For her site to be successful, she'll have to constantly add and update content at the very least weekly (almost daily is my recommendation). People are right that Kate will have to put lots of effort and work into making this new venture a success. She can't just slap her name on a website and think it'll automatically be successful. A website isn't simple like twitter.

Just watched the video of Jon saying he will NEVER sign for the kids to be on TV even if they are unhappy about it. IT is not their decision. He is right. I asked two friends today if they wanted to come over tonight and watch the end of Kate Gosselin's show (I was kidding, but they didn't know it at the moment) and both of them said "who?"
I just laughed. Said I was kidding. They shrugged and we went on talking about something else.
What's really going to be fun is about a month or two from now. When the show's been off for a while, no offers have come in for anything, so she's blowing through what money she might have banked from the show (I'm ASSUMING she has at least two or three month's worth of savings to support her lifestyle as it is now, but who knows, she might have nothing) and it really sinks in that this is it. It's over.
I secretly hope she stays on Twitter. Watching the aftermath of no job/no public attention has been something I've looked forward to ever since I noticed how she treated Jon and the kids (unlike Kate, I knew reality shows end) and on twitter, I can watch it. If she goes off twitter, I can't.

I reported on Saturday that she was dress shopping at our local mall. Maybe if she didn't buy dresses (why does she need them now?) she could add that money to Jon's meager child support and buy her children some decent lunches!
Okay, let me get this straight...Kate thinks that a normal job (you know, like all of us have)is mediocre. But, she doesn't have ANY job now, not even a mediocre one. So, by her own logic, that makes her LESS THAN MEDIOCRE. Good one, Kate.

The only good thing to come out of her appearances on the round of shows is what comes to light when she appears on the round of shows. No one could write a script for her that would portray her in as bad a light as she continually puts herself all by herself!!!!!! !!
Of course TLC asked Jon to be on. Jon and Kate together were ratings gold! Imagine the numbers they would have drawn in had he agreed.
Remember, it's all about the money for TLC. This confirms what I believed, that this is going to be a "Bash Kate" episode. I give Jon props for not agreeing to go on and joining in the fracas.
Unfortunately, I won't be watching tonight. I have to go donate blood and then I have a parent committee meeting tonight for scouts.

Steve isn't going to last long, whatever their relationship, if Kate's paying his salary. She's not going to part with any funds willingly.
On the other hand, if he's the one who advised her to get a website, she should just fire him and get it over with.

Dooce does it, but she's one of the very few, and Dooce puts out an unending stream of new content, constantly.
Love Dooce or hate her, she works HARD on her website. She also wrote, really wrote, a couple of best sellers and has been blogging for almost a decade.
Websites are not gold mines, and Kate's won't earn her a darn penny if she doesn't bring in HUGE numbers after the first flurry of interest is over.

Has anyone counted the number of umm's she used during her interview with Matt Lauer? It's so annoying. During the 5-minute interview, she said umm at least 33 times. This from a woman who wants to be on TV more often? I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't stand to hear umm before every sentence. Kate, stay off TV! Don't make my ears bleed!

Khate was just on Extra. They also showed a quick clip of Jon's Rumor Fix interview and referred to Jon as "bitter, party of one".
Khate did not come off well, though. She, um, would like to um, do a talk show. She threw Jon under the bus again, if a mediocre job works for him fine but that's not what works for her and her 8 kids.
And get this - asked about going back to nursing, she said "daycare" would cost too much! WTH??? Khate, I know you don't spend much time with the kids, but guess what? They've grown! You don't have two toddlers and six infants anymore! In fact, she's already admitted she has a "babysitter" four days a week....so, the sitter already is there after school anyway. So, Khate could be at work as a nurse and let the sitter pick up the kids and bring them home and stay with the kids until Kate gets home. Her lies and inconsistencies really are enough to drive one insane!

I work in a career that does not put me on TV, so it might seem beneath you, but I have a bachelor's and master's degree and make good money. I've worked hard on my career. My husband, too, makes a nice income at his non-TV job. Together, we've been quite fortunate to have the life we do (happily married for 20 years!). We decided to only have one child, so we could better ensure that we had the resources and time to properly raise her. All our cars are paid for. Our house is paid for. We have no debt. We take yearly vacations, and have about a year's worth of income in short-term savings, besides other investments, including a fully funded college fund for our 17 year old.
It's "are" life. And we love it. I don't need to have people stroking my ego or a camera in my face to be happy. I don't need hair extensions or a tanning bed or strangers complimenting me on twitter. I have everything I need: friends and neighbors I love, a career I enjoy greatly, a wonderful daughter, a loving husband, and financial security. When I go to sleep at night, the last thing I do is kiss my sweet husband and thank my lucky stars. You talk to strangers on your phone.
You're the one whose life is mediocre. In fact, I wouldn't even say mediocre, I'd say incredibly sad. And you did it all to yourself.

Can anybody think of even ONE former reality "star" who went on to do ANYTHING in the public eye once their reality career ended? I can only think of one--Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She was on Survivor and is now on The View, but she was so likeable on Survivor, she married a pro athlete, and she is very attractive. So, she had a lot going for her. Kate has none of that. Can anyone think of any others?

One of the problems Kate is having is she's making this argument from the point of view that she HAS to keep the mansion and land, she HAS to keep the kids in private school, she HAS to keep this lifestyle she's accustomed to.
But the argument falls flat with anyone with two brain cells to rub together because you don't HAVE to live in a mansion on 24 acres. You don't HAVE to put your kids in private school, you don't HAVE to have all the trappings of an entitled life.

From my experience, this is true. If her site gets a consistently high amount of hits, it can attract companies interested in advertising on her site.
I was an amateur webmaster for my brother's niche site. After I redesigned it, it really took off and got enormous web traffic. A few companies approached my brother about advertising and he was able to sell web space for a decent price. He charged more money for ads on various things - ad size, specific placement on web page, higher traffic pages, etc. Some companies started sending him their new products for him to use and promote. Eventually, it was sold after he could no longer dedicate the amount of time the site demanded. It was very time-consuming for something that was only supposed to be a hobby. Luckily, he was always getting offers for the site and took the best offer.
Will she hire the same TLC intern to write the blogs at her new site? She certainly isn't going to embarrass herself by writing them!

If i recall correctly there were other interviews where she said she had no idea she was going to be canceled. today she told matt lauer that it wasn't a total shock because she knew they had been in the "deciding phase" for a while. yet she claims to have no money saved up and suddenly has another car. this is just another example of her not being able to keep up with her lies any more.

Just the other day someone tweeted to her about how she bashes Jon every chance she gets, and she tweeted back, "Really? I think not."

My narcissist mom left my dad, too. And she bashed him EVERY single chance she got for the next several years. I knew I was half my dad. I can't even put into words how much it hurt to hear my dad (and by extension, me) ripped apart by my mom all the time.

What a bad PR move. If you're going to announce your site to the masses, at least have some decent content to attract visitors back to your site. The site is half-baked.
Personally, when I launch a site, I make sure the design and content will make an immediate impact on a first-time visitor to garner repeat visits. First impressions matter.
For a celebrity site, she should invest in a better web designer. It's not very attractive or even aesthetically pleasing to me. It's bland. I've seen better sites and blogs from non-celebrity individuals.
What Kate fails to mention is that Jon didn't get to pick his child support number out himself, a JUDGE decided it. The judge looked at a variety of factors to determine it. Child support has become pretty automated these days, most family attorneys can give you a pretty good idea what you will pay because there really isn't that much variety to it. A father in similar circumstances to Jon can expect to pay pretty much about the same he is, whatever that number is.
Kate needs to go crying to the JUDGE if this is such an unfair number. If it's so low why hasn't the JUDGE done something? Oh wait because it's NOT and Jon is paying what is FAIR. And way to look a gift horse in the mouth--the judge gave this sociopath full custody, plus allowed the kids to be filmed, and she wants to bitch about child support too? If I were her attorney I would tell her be happy you still have custody and STFU. She will not be happy until Jon has lost his parental rights, and that ain't happening.
Too bad no one bothered to ask Kate why she hasn't let her "help" go since she no longer is "working". She's home all alone, what, 9 hours a day? She no longer has to do any interviews or "press tours", let alone filming the show or couch interviews. No more traveling either. So, why the hell does she need a housekeeper or, as she says, "someone to help with the laundry"? She's home all day with nothing to do but tweet. Is she too lazy to throw a load or two of laundry in the washer and dryer each day? She can even tweet while waiting for the clothes to dry. And, she has two sets of washers and dryers, so it's not a big deal. Khate, how about multitasking like most mothers? It's simple - you should be up early before the kids anyway. Throw two loads of laundry in your two washers when you get up in the morning. Before you leave for the school run, you throw those two loads in the dryer. Go drop the kids off, come home pour a cup of coffee, empty the dishwasher, whatever, and then fold the two loads of laundry. It's really not that hard. You'll be done by 9 am! WHY do you need help for this, especially when you no longer have income??
Also, why the hell does she need a sitter for the few hours that the kids are home with her per weekday afternoon and evening? Wouldn't someone with no income cut out that UNNECESSARY expense?
All this shows us is that Khate is so used it having it all done for her, that she's not willing to give it up. I think she hasn't cleaned her house, done laundry, or even done most of the food shopping in years. She just doesn't want to go back to having to be a "mom", even though she loved playing one on tv.
(Disclaimer: I have a cleaning service, but I earned that little luxury. I haven't made my kids work to cover that expense. Also, I don't cry poor. If my financial circumstances changed, it would be the first thing to go. Laundry, on the other hand is all mine. I can't stand anyone doing my laundry, even my husband. I always say even if I were a billionaire, I would still do all the laundry in our home. First of all, I like the way that I do it, lol, and I couldn't imagine having strangers do our laundry. I also don't like anyone making our beds.)

News flash, Khate - the courts look at the needs and expenses of the kids, and the income of the parents. I worked at an after-school program that was FREE to students. Space limit was forty students per grade (two classes for each grade-level). It was held at the school, open from the time of school dismissal until 6pm. Even during half-days. It also included homework tutoring and reading intervention, along with fun kid activities and extracurricular programs.
Each school had this program. You just had to attend the public school to be eligible.

Just checked out her web site. Is this what we call a soft launch? The absolute worst mistake you can make is roll out a web site before it's finished. People will get bored fast and never come back. Ideally, it should be worked on every darn day to keep it up to where it should be. It is truly a second job, mediocre as it is. She's playing tit for tat and because of her penchant for retaliation, probably made one of the most stupid, heartless statements in her "career" as a celebrity - the mediocre comment. Well, maybe two stupid statements, considering that she threw him under the bus with her lunches/child support remark.
She's dug herself so far inside that hole that the only light she can see is from the glow worms. Very soon even they will go to sleep and she will be left in total darkness.

That was MY error they did say Audi. Did Audi even MAKE the TT in 2006? I would bet there is NO Way that car is less than a year old.
Exactly, no judge is going to require you pay enough child support to be able to support a little prince and princess. They DO look at a child's lifestyle. They're not going to let you get away with paying 50 bucks a month if a child has an upper-middle class lifestyle. But a judge isn't going to make you pay outrageous amounts for outrageous houses no one can afford or private school no one can afford and all organic food and so on and so forth. No judge.
I have a question for Kate, what number do you think is fair? What does it take to raise eight kids, in your opinion? Please enlighten us. (Bet it's like, a half million bucks/month. Go away, Kate, far far away.)

We have said before what an actual psychologist said today. There is no reason a kid should have to worry for ONE SECOND about supporting the family. It's not right to put that pressure on them!
As a little kid I didn't know what a mortgage was, I thought food just appeared, I thought you open the wallet and there's money and credit cards. I didn't think about gas costing money. There were so many things I didn't realize you had to pay for. I was carefree. I thought my wonderful mediocre parents were so rich! Lol, no they were just giving us a nice mediocre childhood.
This is how it SHOULD be for little kids, they shouldn't worry for one second how their family will make it. Anything else is downright dysfunctional.
Just watched the season premiere of Ellen, where she had a wonderful woman on, a principal of an elementary school in Las Vegas. Very poor school. 85% on reduced/free lunches. Many homeless students. Many literally don't know where they will be going after school, day to day. She spoke of one boy who said he didn't know where he was going that night and he had a toothbrush and a bottle of soda in his backpack. Those were all his possessions. This woman has made it her mission to care for these kids: pay bills for their families, get free medical care, free eye care (including glasses), free dental care. She raises money and collects donations and she takes anything and everything because she said when you live in poverty, you need everything. She meets the needs of the entire family. Why? She grew up poor and never wants them to lose hope. Target contributed $100,000 to her efforts and showed up at the school with a loaded backpack for each of almost 700 students. I cried for 20 minutes, watching this segment. I work at a food bank and two homeless shelters and I know a lot of kids - and adults - like that. One lady today told me they had no income and then giggled and then said if she didn't laugh, she'd cry. I just listened and we gave her food and hooked her up with some resources. This principal spends her LIFE doing this!!! She said when she landed at the school and saw such big needs, she knew what her purpose was!!!

Her car is a 2010 Audi TT. If you google the car and look at three things that will distinguish the difference between the 09, 10 and 11 Audi, you'll notice the three things.
The Cowl on the left and right side of the front bumper are distinctly different with each respective year. The molding over the bumper where the front license plate is affixed is not as thick as the '11 Audi and bigger than the 09 Audi. The rear of the car shows a dual exhaust on the left side of the vehicle which indicates the size of the motor. A 4 cylinder will have two exhausts on the left rear, the six cylinder will have an exhaust on both the left and right side of the car. The wheels on the vehicle are the standard issue for the '10 Audi TT.
She and TLC at her behest are the ones that cut Jon out of the entertainment industry, thus forcing him to work a day job, that pales in comparison to what he could have made even without the kids and thus pay her the kind of money she thinks she so richly deserves. My mother used to say be careful what you wish for and that so aptly applies here. Despicable.
If Jon decides to let family court decide whether this latest project is good for the children, I wonder what the judge will think about being classified as mediocre because he is not a TV "star".
