Jon 'very relieved' the show is canceled

"I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."

Jon's interview to Radaronline pretty much sums it up.

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/08/jon-gosselin-relieved-his-kids-will-no-longer-be-tv

Meanwhile, Kate says she's in the process of renewing her nursing license, which surprisingly, she kept current throughout this mess. It expires in October.
And finally, it's worth re-running our Open Letter to the Gosselin Children, since everything we said in 2009 rings true today. We sincerely wish you the best, little Gosselins.

Why is it that Jon is perfectly capable of giving a statement about something going on with this family without throwing Kate under the bus?

He easily could have taken several below the belt jabs at her. He chose not to. THAT'S what speaks volumes, tweeple.

Do you suppose this might be Kate's f-ed up dysfunctional way of trying to tell TLC if I can't be on T.V. on my terms I'm not gonna be on T.V. at all so suck it I'll just go back to nursing, na-naaa!

Hahaha. Kate? TLC has already moved on from you like you're the stone age.

I believe we call that the high road.

good luck K8, hope there's a hospital willing to hire you, and staff willing to work with you, charming person that you are.

I'm confused, are we supposed to believe the lie that nursing can't support eight kids or not? Because if nursing can't support eight kids why spend the time and money to renew your license? Sounds to me like someone can't get their lies straight.

I also like how someone pointed out she can't wait another week or two for the kids to get back in school and be gone ALL DAY to focus her efforts on renewing her license. She doesn't work! She has all the time in the world when they are in school to do all this. Instead she probably holed herself up in her bedroom and makes the twins care for the kids during the precious last few days she has with them.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

What Kate SAYS she does Jon ACTUALLY does.

There are so many things he could have said about Kate in his statement! He didn't.

As I said yesterday, he is learning and growing and I don't expect perfection from a parent when your train is going full speed in the right direction.

silimom said...

Actually, I find it heartening that Kate is renewing her license. It shows at least she may have some awareness that, without Kate + 8, she really has very limited demand as an entertainer/actress/producer/talk show host/etc and she's not putting all her eggs in one basket.

The question now becomes how long until she starts applying for nursing jobs? Every day drains a little bit more from any savings she might have.

Despite all of the hand-wringing and cloyingly uplifting messages dominating Kate's Twitter, the reality is that most Americans just don't care. Check out this link, an article I found posted on TLC Web site (under "Social Chatter"):

http://aytm.com/blog/daily-survey-results/kate-plus-8-survey-americans-not-upset-about-cancellation/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Aytm+%28AYTM%29

Unclear to me whether this is something that originated inside TLC or not.

That's the thing why would any well-adjusted person be upset about a TV SHOW ending??? Unless you work on it and are losing your job.

It's like being upset because you just finished your ice cream cone. Sure it was good while it lasted but to be upset when it's finished is unstable at best.

Silimon, Kate doesn't have to worry about working at all...she has millions. I'm sorry but it goes all over me everytime someone mentions that she needs to go back to work right away. I am degreed and have worked my butt off my entire life and have to live week to week, so I don't want to hear about entitled people who have millions needing to hurry up and find a job. No pity at all from me.

From the previous thread:

Admin said...I actually have been thinking seriously of cancelling my cable too. So it's working for you? I do have my favorite shows I'll admit it but it seems you can get most episodes of shows you are interested in via Hulu or Netflix, which in total would only be about 20 bucks a month.
My biggest concern is sports!...
***********************

My daughter hooked our (basically unused) desktop PC up to our TV set. Our monitor for that PC is now the television set, so everything we watch online is on the TV. That PC is now in the living room. We use a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse to navigate our TV. And we can still do that while on our laptops.

We saved $100 a MONTH by totally cancelling our cable. We get 32 channels of antenna TV. Not all of them are things we want to watch.

There are ways to watch nearly everything. Not all online sites are consistently glitch free however. We dont watch college sports so I cant address that - I wonder if there are online streaming sites for that? The only thing we are missing is our local MLB team. Man, MLB has their games locked up tighter than a White House Bunker. NFL we can stream, MLB not at all. So it's old fashioned radio for us.

Yes, we have Netflix and HuluPlus. Make a mental list of the weekly shows you like and go to the website for the networks, see if you can stream episodes right from the network, ie SyFy.com for Ghost Hunters, etc. We also use a lot of BlinxRemote.

It takes some getting used to, I admit that. But we have found we are better for it, less garbage in our living room. We feel more in control of it. We are not bombarded by sleazy commercials either! So if the print media isnt giving me good reason to seek out a show and try it, it doesnt accidently end up in my house, annoying my brain.

AND we have antenna TV and a Roku box in the bedroom where we get netflix and Hulu too, plus a hundred other free things. I LOVE that Roku box!

By the way, I love your Crazy Nurse at Work sign, but we all know that Gosselin woman is in the breakroom, bitching about how exhausted she is and somebody else better manage her med pass.

Yes, it is amazing how little time she spends with her children, considering that school starts soon, and the are gone 9 hours a day. Not a hands on Mom, not unless someone is watching, or filming. No media attention, no Jon or nannies to do everything for her, it's going to be mighty lonely in the All Mine Mansion in a week or so. She has plenty of money socked away, perhaps she should spend some time with an accountant, and get off Twitter, to figure out how to stretch it. You're right in that most of America really does not care.

That is the first time I saw the Open Letter, Admin, thanks for reposting. It packs a powerful message but I don't think Kate gets it. She thinks it is okay to exploit her children because "that is all they know". Can you imagine your whole entire life, all 7 years of it, being an object for your parents to profit on? Jon seems to be working towards forgiveness and redemption but how do these children cope with the sudden disinterest in them, the lack of demand, the industry telling them sorry kids, you are no longer what we want. What angers me most about this is every single adult around them knew they were too young to sign up for this life, too young to give consent, and it was these adults getting paid to exploit them that kept them on tv. I blame Jon, Kate and TLC but especially Kate for not wanting the show to end, ever.

Lol Hippie, you crack me up!! :)

I don't see how Kate could be a hands-on nurse-ish again, all she would ever hear is "hey aren't you.....?" and "Ackkkkkkkkk! don't let that witch touch me!!!" She could work for a health insurance company doing claims that need nurse review or maybe even take calls on their nurse hotlines. Those could be work from home jobs, too. Which would be convenient, since I read on Preesi that Kate's mom allegedly said on her "rooting 4 Kate in life" FB page that "childcare would take up her entire nurse's salary." How that's possible when all eight kids are in school 9 hours a day/9 months out of the year, I have no idea.

At any rate, Kate stating that she is going to re-certify is probably the most responsible and legitimately realistic thing she's done in years and years.

Robin said...

What Kate should do:

Downsize the mansion to a reasonably sized home not on acreage

Move her children - or at least the septuplets (and the twins once they reach middle school, or whenever the "break" is made there) - to a different school which is less expensive and closer to home.

Stop with the celebrity lifestyle and live like a real person.

Use the savings to truly further her education and receive a BSN. Or take college courses to work towards a degree in something else, since she should have new interests which have been developed through all of the years of travel and life in front of the camera. In a situation like Kate's, I think there is more value in an *education* than there is in a *trade.* She has a few trades - nurse, mother, speaker, writer - what she needs to do is to become more educated (on many levels) so that those trades will actually result in an income for her family.

I really wish Jon a long, happy, and healthy life. It's obvious he has grown, and learned from his experiences. It's good to see him flourish, and move on with his life. I wish the same for their children.

And you want to know something? I even wish the same for Kate. Inspite of her obvious psychological illness, she deserves to live a happy & peaceful life.

But first, Kate needs to see a doctor for her "issues".

I hope she forgives Jon for whatever the hell egregious act she thinks he did to her.

May Kate forgive everyone around her, that she feels have "failed her".

I hope Kate asks forgiveness of her family and friends for "failing" them as well.

I hope Kate learns to trust people.

Her neighbors have tried to be friendly with her, to no avail. Now it's Kate's turn to extend her hand to them. She needs to become
more integrated in her community.

Most importantly, for her children's sake, she needs to turn her back on the entertainment field. It is not her vocation at all, and will bring her nothing but grief.

It's good that Kate is renewing her nursing certificate- and it would better if she put it into practice.

Too bad Kate's still living with a skewed sense of reality. That false show business haze- loving the money and attention she gets from it (good and bad), is keeping her from living an authentic life.

Kate is getting her license renewed for a couple reasons:
- It's good PR
- She worked for the degree (not easy) and doesn't want to throw it away.

IMO- she has no intention of ever working as a nurse in the direct-care capacity. There are plenty of nursing jobs that don't require patient care. For example, my cousin is a nurse (who coincidentally worked in the same hospital Kate did but didn't know her) and she just got a job with a medical software company. She reviews the software to make sure it's compliant and some other stuff that I don't understand.

I know another nurse the oversees a staff of home health care aides. Another friend is an RN and she works in marketing for a major health network in my city. She travels around bringing cookies and lunches to various health care facilities. Other than a few patient screenings, she is mostly into smoozing. My point is that with an RN degree kate could do a lot of things beyond shift work at a hospital.

A member at the church I attend is a Nurse Practitioner and is also the chairman of the nursing school at a University. She told me about 2 years ago that hospitals and doctor's offices are starting to require BSN degrees. They are not so interested in Associates in Nursing any longer. The nursing program at a Community college near here is closing down its Associate program.

That seems kind of odd to me, because if you can get a qualified Associate degree nurse for
less money than a BSN nurse, wouldn't most hospitals with budgets to meet do that? They could actually have MORE nurses on staff for the same budget.

I don't live in PA so it may be different there.

Absolutely! But if I were in need of compassionate medical care, there is no way I'd want to see her coming. Divisive, unpleasant people poison workplaces everywhere. In a medical setting, the damage can be so much worse.

Lots of good advice for her from commenters here. Of course she should sell the house, but she probably won't be able to, and even if she does, it will take forever, and she'd get nowhere what she wants for it.

That property was a stupid purchase in the first place - lottery winner behavior, and we all know what happens to them.

More likely there will be a foreclosure or a short sale. She's so far underwater on that thing that it's going to be a problem for her for a long time.

That's the thing about stupidity and greed - the after effects tend to linger a long, long time.

Mel said...

I think that there are a lot of secrets in that house....

I think that she has a bunch of stuff on him from the divorcing time, but that he had something on her first, from an earlier time, something that she REALLY doesn't want publicized, something that he could use as a trump card if he so chose.

Whatever it is, I think that at one time he might have divulged it as a means of revenge, in a loser kind of way, but he has now come to a place where he realizes that it will hurt the kids more than it will hurt her. And his top priority now is not hurting the kids.

==========================

Not really. Kate can't "schmooze" to save her life. She can't even get along with another human being unless paid to do so, and even then it's a stretch.

Review software? That would require learning, attention to detail, and a work ethic. The latter Kate doesn't have, and the first two she's not interested in.

Marketing? She's a PR nightmare who is poison to every product she touches. Her best skill is alienating people.

Overseeing staff? Can you imagine what this woman would do to staff morale? Can you imagine hating your staff enough, or being clueless enough, to hire Kate to manage them?

She needs a job where she is closely supervised and a tight grip is held on her performance. Anything else will be a disaster for her employer.

TLC worked because they NEEDED her to be a train wreck, and because they don't have any ethics, either. It was a marriage made in heaven, for as long as it lasted. Now that TLC has divorced Kate, life is sure gonna be different.

I can't speak for hospitals across the county, but locally at least, pay is the same whether you're an ADN or a BSN. BSN's have more administrative job possibilities which would mean the could earn a little more in that capacity.

Kate renewing her license means nothing...she renewed it 2 years ago, too. I think it makes her feel important to be able to say she has a nursing license and that's the only reason she keeps renewing it. Even if she did get a nursing job, it wouldn't last because she doesn't actually want to do any work.

I hope he has become friends again and when he has the kids he could take them to Kevin and Jodi's house. Those kids are going to need people like K & J in their lives because those 2 people really seemed to love those kids. I liked the episodes with Jodi babysitting them. The kids got a chance to feel what it is like to be around a real loving mother. They would get to be with their cousins too.

Surely no one believes she needs to work at McDonalds, or that her only option is a multi-million dollar wage in order to support her kids? Oh...maybe the Sheeple believe..... And on another note, I hope this releases Jon Gosselin from all the TLC shackles he's been subject to since this crap got out of hand. I found this transcript on RWA-

Showbiz Tonight on HLN:

AJ HAMMER: But right now - oh, goody, here`s something I haven`t had the opportunity to say in a while. I`ve got to move on to breaking Kate Gosselin news. Kate`s been canned. That`s right. TLC just cancelled "Kate Plus 8" after just one season spin-off from, of course, the very wildly popular "Jon & Kate Plus 8." It was a total bomb. Michael Billy, I`m thinking that, at this point, Kate Gosselin is done, not only as a reality star. I don`t think she has a TV career ahead of her.
Michael Billy: None, and you want to know why? She`s not interesting. She`s not entertaining. The whole idea behind her reality show was the concept of the children and the family and the back and forth between the husband - she`s not an interesting person. She should be off the air. I`m glad they canned her.
HAMMER: And I`ve got to tell you, I spoke with Kate no that long ago right here at SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. She was absolutely miserable when she was here. I mean, really, it`s like she was promoting the show and she barely wanted to speak. But here`s the thing. When I spoke with her, no matter how hard she got slammed by her critics, she`s always stuck to her guns about why she kept her kids on TV. And here`s what she told me.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) KATE GOSSELIN, REALITY TV STAR: Again, it comes back to the opportunities and the quality of life that my kids get to enjoy with a family of eight kids. I mean, we`ve traveled the world and seen and done so many things. And I wouldn`t change it and neither would they. (END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So Dawn, what do you think Kate should do next? I mean, she`s had some degree of success as an author and doing some other things. But she really wants to be a TV star. She says this is the greatest gig in the world. YANEK: Oh, yes. And this is definitely not the last we`re going to be seeing of her on TV. I`m sorry, guys. She`s going to be scratching and clawing her way back into the spotlight. HAMMER: But do you think she`ll make it? Or are you with Michael that maybe not as much as she wants to?
YANEK: I think maybe not as much as she wants to, but she`s going to have to change it up, whether that be some sort of a dating show or some other aspect of her life she`s going to put out there. I think, eventually, it may come back to that. But yes, in the meantime, I think she`s going to brand in other ways, maybe more as an author, maybe more as some sort of a parenting expert, though I don`t know if anybody would buy it at this point, especially since she seems to be spending more time on her platinum highlights than on her kids.
HAMMER: Yes. And that`s what a lot of people were saying. I was looking online today. The chatter that is out there, the venomous chatter of so many people chiming in and saying that they`re absolutely thrilled that the show is canned because, to your point, they found her uninteresting and, to your point, she`s spending too much money on herself and not enough on her kids. I think people seem to be happy to see the show go.
BILLY: She`s a real housewife with eight kids now.
HAMMER: Yes. There it is.
YANEK: Yes.

I haven't participated in the discussion lately, but I still read the posts here.. Guess I got a bit numb to it. The son of friend of mine had his leg blown off in Afghanistan a few weeks ago. Watching Kate's disgusting antics seem trivial in comparison to this young hero, who has done four tours overseas, risking his life so she could grift herself into her pampered lifestyle. It makes me sick, not so much that she has what she has, but that she has such a sense of entitlement to it because of her pure, dumb luck! I have half her children, but I can guarantee you that when they were her children's age, I sure wouldn't have had a MINUTE to twitter... Sheesh!!

I watch her in fascination at times, because I believe she is representative of the entitlement syndrome and the depravity that has permeated our culture. I think about how hard my husband and I have worked to have what we have, which isn't anywhere near what she has, to provide for our children, making their well-being and education a priority.

I am hopeful that America will begin to put its foot down as far as these trashy reality stars are concerned. We have no business being flies on the wall in people's private lives.... (Voyeurism must be one of the seven deadly sins!) :) I don't see that happening any time soon, though.

What she SHOULD be concerned about, if she could get her mind off herself for one second, is exactly what Jon said which is getting the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future. Who knows what kind of emotional damage that damn show and that wacko mother did to those children.

Come on guys, do any of you believe for one second that Kate is planning on renewing her nursing license? I mean, lets get real. She is doing that so her sheeple can keep on moaning and crying about how unfair life has treated her. Her own mother on Facebook is stating that Kate can't support 8 kids on a nurses salary as a single mom. First of all, you idiots, including Kate's mother, she is not alone in providing for those kids. Now, I don't live in PA nor do I know their rules, but I do know that in this country you pay your child support or they haul your ass to jail. So, Jon is paying child support, whether they like it or not. She is not on her own, they are equally Jon's children, even though she hates the very thought of it. He does get a say, even though she hates that.

Getting her nursing license updated -- not so much.

Being a producer -- not so much. Where in hell does she think she will get a 'producing' job? Does she think they just grow on trees and because she has been in the 'industry' she automatically gets to produce?

Being an author -- not so much. Been there, done that. First one written by someone else, second and third, major flops.

Face it Katie, time to downsize, join the rest of the real world. You had some great years, which you did not appreciate and now they are over. No more TLC sending limos to your house for you, no more free trips to NYC to get your straw hair done, no more treks to the morning TV shows to try and trash Jon - again. All of that gone.

She must be going out of her mind, even if she won't admit it.

I don't think Jon needed to say that he hopes his children can get help for any personal issues they might have in the future. And I agree that him saying he hopes Kate can spend more time with the kids now was a dig.

I'm no Kate fan by any means but Jon can't act like he had no responsibility in the "potential future problems" of his kids. He was in on this filming fiasco for 2/3 of the time the kids were filmed, then he spent another year making some really embarrassing public choices. I also still believe he continued (continues?) to receive money from TLC for some period of time.

Jon's a good dad and deserves credit for the positive changes he's made in the past year. I hope he continues to fight for the kids' best interests. But I do feel like he's getting a lot of credit that he doesn't deserve for being "classy" in his statement.

In reality, Kate is not even a blip in the grand scheme of things.

There's no way that she would go back to nursing; I'm certain she thinks that anything other than "showbiz" (or her version of it, anyway) is beneath her. That's pretty clear. She is simply renewing that license for appearance and some sort of personal validation.

*Farthest* thing from a Kate fan, but I did think the comment from Jon was a bit of a dig toward her - and frankly, I didn't care. He's been handling himself well. But really, it was a way to get his point across without sounding blatantly rude and immature and unfeeling like she does with her comments. So he still is on the "high road". More power to him...

I would imagine Kate's manager is looking for new clients, because after the LaFair incident she probably knows Kate will not be paying her fees either. Seriously, Steve has been long gone other than that road trip this summer; the reality of Steve is that he was salaried by TLC to keep her in line, and everything else was a manuevering by Kate - smoke and mirrors, my friends. As for job opportunities, Kate does not and will not take a nursing job that requires any kind of time clock, and she does not have the college background or managment skills to do the careers in nursing outside the hospital setting. I know this because my DH works in managed health with nurses; they are people with at least a BS degree, have had nursing field work and many have advanced degrees. Renewing her license is another smoke and mirror pretense for her sheeple. If she were smart (hah) she really would be sitting down with a financial planner, someone who could tell her how to invest the monies she made from TLC, someone who could give her real advice about the house, her expenses and how to live when you can't grift anymore. But that would be too much reality for the reality queen. Oh feh, who really cares?

TATE SAID: The Huffington Post is quoting kate's "friend" as saying Kate still sees a big career for herself--as an author, creating a perfume, starting a production company, as an actor. What a joke! How can you just start a production company with no experience? Who would back her? What would she produce? She seriously thinks she would be a good actor?? And who wants to wear a fragrance that Kate "creates"? Gag.
________________________________
The above article is written by "Naughty Rob". That is Rob Shuter of AOL/Huffinton Post. I would not put any stock into what he writes. He wrote many stupid articles that never has any truth to them. For instance, recently (probably in the past 6 months) he wrote an article stating that Kate wanted to get back with Jon. Or maybe it was the reverse...can't remember. Anyway we know that was 100% bull. He also wrote the article that Kate was looking for homes to purchase with a recording studio when she was on DWTS. Yeah, right.

The article today is nothing but a repeat for his article a week ago saying that Kate would like to be a producer. It is very easy for him to say a "friend" said she would like to start her own production company, create a perfume, etc. I don't believe Kate would start her own productio company. She has zero experience producing. And wouldn't that cost lots and lots of big money to start her own company. I think it says volumes that for 6 years, TLC NEVER gave her the title of producer--not even Assitant Producer. WOW, she was TLC's best money maker and star at one point and after 150 episodes & 6 years they never made her a producer. What a slam! Perhaps that interview with Rob LAST WEEK when Kate said she wanted to be a producer pissed off TLC.

And I bet Kate looked into creating a perfume years ago and it never panned out. Why now when she is off tv and her popularity is at lowest would a company make a perfume for her?

I think Kate is renewing her license for 2011 just like she did in 2010. Not because she has any intention of returning to nursing. Remember she has said that she would do anything to support her kids..even working at McDonald's. She did it as a PR move. It would look foolish of her not to. And why not renew it. I'm guessing it cost under $100 and not much of her time studying. It would also enable her to say that is she a registered nurse.

Again, Kate is a mult-millionair. Just think, this past month, Kate earned another million. If she is earning $250,000 per episode (I believe it) then there you go. She is never going to sell the Mcmansion or ever go back to nursing. And remember, TLC will continue to do "specials" and that will enable her to continue to earn lots and lots of more money in the future.

tate said...

I just have to laugh when I read that Kate wants to start a production company! How does she think she would do this? She has no skills or knowledge. PLUS, Kate wants to be IN FRONT of the camera--not behind it or on the sidelines. Maybe she is thinking she can contact her "good friend" Kelly Ripa, since she and her husband have a production company. Let's see how that works out for her.

And, yes, Kate is so despised--who in their right might would buy a Kate Gosselin fragrance? Who would even produce it and market it? HOW would you market it? LOL.

I think that what Jon means when he says he hopes the children can get help for personal issues they may have in the future, is exactly that: that they will be allowed to see a therapist, and not be denied this by Kate because she will not admit to anything being wrong, or because she doesn't see therapy for the kids as one of her financial priorities.

When the tups were expelled she was in denial and refused to admit that this had actually happened; when forced to, she blamed it on the divorce.I think she will continue to deny that the children have been affected by her lifestyle and behaviour since then. Jon is right to be concerned.

Thanks Pink for posting that from HLN. It's interesting how a lot of real opinions of those on TV or radio are now starting to come out.

If Kate thought she was lonely before how is she going to feel when her kids and her twitter fans all go back to school. She will have all day with nothing to do except plan her future. I believe she will try to get herself involved in all kinds of things and not have success with any of them.

She should have been planning for this moment years ago and had plan B in place. Obviously the show couldn't have gone on forever. She never planned for anything else because she was so convinced that she was going to become a big time celebrity.

Forgot to say in my last post -- if the reports of Kate earning $250,000 per episode is correct, she's not hurting for money. In 2010, 11 episodes aired, and 10 have aired so far this year. Add in personal appearance fees, payment for some interviews and photoshoots, and the income from her infomercial and she's on her way to over $3M this year, too. That's not counting the child support she gets from Jon. I would hope to God that she has a financial advisor who has invested at least part of her earnings for her. She may not be able to keep up the lifestyle she feels she deserves, but I don't think she and the kids are in any danger of starving or winding up on the streets.

I'm a registered nurse. You know how I renewed my license a few weeks ago? I got online and paid the renewal application fee. That's it. This isn't some big deal Kate is making it out to be.

You have to have 20 hrs of what's call "Continuing Education" This must be done every 2 yrs. The CE hrs are just classes you can go to throughout the yr while working. Hospitals give them for free ALL the time. Or you can take them online for a fee. You do them through the course of 2 YEARS. So, 20 hours in 2 YEARS is nothing.

You don't have to offer proof to the Board of Nursing that you've actually done them. They take your word on it. A few random people are selected for an audit (just like when you pay your taxes).

There is no test you must take to renew. You just go online, fill out the renewal application and pay the fee! (About $65)

I'm curious..did the Gosselin family have medical insurance when they were "employed" with TLC? And once the contract runs out in 2012, will they no longer have medical insurance? If not, Kate will have to pay for it. And with that many little ones, that will be expensive!

Also, I just want to mention one thing which has always bothered me about Kate....

She always seems to refer to them as "child" (her favorite). Or "little one", or something totally generic.

And I tell my sons (and my parents) "love you" all the time. That just doesn't seem to be in her vocabulary.

Oh well...I glad she's off the air (or soon to be).

Well, the expected has finally happened. Sort of.

A husband of one of the Bravo reality tv shows committed suicide. He was married to on of the Housewives of Beverly Hills.

ROL has an article (how accurate are they?) that the family is considering suing Bravo as being a contributing factor in his death.

Now, I'm not a lawyer and I don't know the details because I don't watch those shows, but reportedly he said the show was ruining him, or something to that effect. Clearly he was not happy to be on the show. They were filming the break-up of the marriage.

Who's at fault? WHO KNOWS... not me. But whether there is merit for the suit OR NOT, it looks like some family member is going to sue for money.

I've always felt it was just a matter of time before someone sued a reality tv show.

Actually, I wonder if there will be a suit against TLC for something related to kart's show.

Will it have any merit? Me... I don't think so, but what do I know.

Just goes to show that here in the US, anyone can sue for anything.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if kart tried to sue for 'something'.......

And yes, all of this sh*t pales in comparison to the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform. Mandy, please share my heartfelt thanks to your friend's son for his service to our country.

3.5 million, after taxes, paying manager/publicist, car payments, mortgage, and whatever other crap she is buying that has absolutely nothing to do with raising the kids, there isn't a lot left over. I can't see Kate listening to a financial advisor or accountant. And I wouldn't be surprised if she has money that she thinks of as being completely for HER and her only, not the kids. She has always had a weird attituted towards money. On one side a chronic need to flaunt what she sees as being "upper-class" lifestyle, and on the other constantly crying not just poor but nearly destitute.

SquattmunkieRN,

I am a nurse also, and here in MI we have the same thing for renewing license. Online, $65, every two years. 25 CEUs required and we can do them in person or online. Easy peasy.

In kart's case, to give her just a tiny benefit of the doubt, she might have to catch up on all her CEUs as I highly doubt she's been keeping up on them. Maybe that's what she is doing. For her, catching up with a refresher course and back CEUs would be a huge undertaking.

Also, although I don't think she'd actually go back to clinical nursing, if she did she'd definitely have to take a refresher course after being away so long. Those refresher courses can take as long as 16 weeks full time with supervised clinical rotations and classroom study.

My thought - she would never "stoop" to clinical again as she is "too good" to work as a nurse AND no one will hire her due to her reputation and personality.

She doesn't have what it takes. She'll never put herself into a situation where she will have supervision and evaluations.

I was reading at another Gosselin blog and came across this:

The following e-mail is from one of the organizers of the Gosselin's speaking engagement at Ingells Avenue Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

QUOTE
Hi everyone!!I need a confirmation from everyone so that we can nail our reservation list this week! Email me your contact information and how many ticket that you need. (just in case they have increased or decreased). I need this back ASAP!! Cut and paste the below info. Also, Kate has told me that they will be selling autographed pictures for a fee of $20. They will only accept cash for these. As most of you know also, we will be taking a love offering for the Gosselins. This is going directly to them. They don't "charge" to come down, but do ask that we take up a love offering. So come prepared to "give back". Hope to see all of you soon!mary
______________
This was in June 2008. Jon and Kate purchased their 1.2 million estate in October 2008. It is public record that their downpayment was around $300,000. I can't remember the exact amount.

I am so disgusted. The Gosselins gave church talks about their faith and financial woes of raising 8 kids. They specifically asked that a "love offering" be taken for them. And to think they charged $20 for an autographed photo. CASH ONLY PLEASE!

Keep in mind, the Gosselins spoke in 2008 and the first few months of 2009 in many, many churches. Their speaking schedule was posted from all the different churches. I bet they collected thousands per church. And remember cash only please. I bet they didn't pay any taxes and had a great money making scheme going. All for a little faith talk. They would ask the churchgoers to give so the 8 kids would be able to go to college.

Later Kate hired a PR firm (Media Motions)and didn't need the churches anymore. Then she went on all the entainment shows promoting "Multiple Blessings" and their tv show. Kate continued her speaking but now it was 100% secular and commanded big bucks. No need for the mere pittance of thousands for a weekend church talk. She is now in the big leagues and the rest is history.

I wonder how all those churchgoers felt a few months later when they saw the Gosselins new 1.2 million dollar estate with 24 acres. They gave their hard earned money to support the Gosselins because they believed their financial woes stories the Gosselins spun.

Also, they have trashed Ellen to death and blamed her for everything that has happened to Kate. For instance, they blame Ellen by saying she has constantly dropped information to the media about Kate. How would they know if that were so. Right they wouldn't, since they don't know nor have ever met Ellen. Another really good excuse of theirs, as they claim we have never met Kate. Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Kimmie please do not use bold, your posts are no more special than any of us to warrant bold. I don't see how you can possibly interpret Jon's statements as a slam against Kate.

Let's break down his statements.

First he said he was "relieved" the show was over. He has every right to disagree with the children being on a reality show, and Kate has every right to think they should be on a reality show. Both parents can express their opinions about whether the kids should be on a reality show without slamming the other, and Jon simply saying he was relieved did just that--expressed his opinion without bringing Kate into it or slamming Kate. On the contrary whenever Kate talks about her opinions on the show, she has to blame Jon for stopping it or otherwise bring his name into the mix.

Then he said: "I hope they can have more private family moments." Again, not a slam against Kate. Just stating the facts: when they had a reality show, many family moments were public. He hopes they will be private now. Kate herself admits that they put themselves out their for public consumption, I never saw her disagree there were many public moments. I think Kate would be out of her mind to suggest she hasn't made her kids public--only difference is she thought it was okay and Jon didn't. Again, he stated his opinion about the reality show without having to blame Kate or draw Kate into it.

He also said: "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future." Jon isn't saying they didn't get attention now, just that, should issues come up in the future as the result of this exploitation, he wants them to get the help they need for it. Twisting it around to suggest Kate isn't helping them now is quite the stretch and not what he said. Why would Kate oppose the kids' getting help for issues that come up?

Then he said: "Contracts have to end at some point. I think everything had run its course and it was time to come to an end anyways." This has nothing to do with Kate and everything to do with the facts--the show ran its course as he always knew it would.

This is the only statement that maybe he shouldn't have said, "I have no clue what her next move is. I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue."

But the thing is? Kate herself admits that her schedule is wild and crazy and necessitated a nanny five days a week. He's only stating what Kate herself has admitted, this show drained her and took her away from the kids, and having it finally end will give her a good chance to reconnect. I don't know why Kate would disagree with what a blessing in disguise this is to be able to have more time for the kids. If anything I would have expected her to say that first--well, I'm sad the show is ending but the good thing is we can have a little down time now and reconnect. Of course what does she do her first day free? Twatters all day with strangers and claims she's studying for some continuing ed credits, even though she has all the time in the world to do this once the kids start school. I see where Jon is coming from. He went on to politely wish her the best.

Jon's statement was restrained, classy, and to the point.

Doesn't mean what it once did said...

I just looked at people that someone was following. They followed, among others, Terese Giudice and Snooki. Both those two list "New York Times Best Selling Author" in their bios. Oh. Guess THEY are so smart!!

Online petitions I love it lol. I KNEW there would be a Save Kate Plus 8 campaign.

You know what I find so disgusting about that petition? All they care about is themselves. WE want to see the kids and the kids have become part of OUR lives and WE cannot live without them and WE have to see them grow up. Absolutely nothing about how this will benefit the kids to continue this exploitation.

I've figured out the tweeple. They are selfish lonely people who only care about how these kids benefit THEM, and the kind of people where if a child they love wants to go have a much-needed playdate with a friend and they would rather that child stay home and spend time with them, they will make the child cancel the playdate. In other words, hell if a kid's wants and needs come first over their own selfish desires.

Sign of things to come? Today's Rob Shuter puff piece (HuffPo) on Kate and her great expectations was posted almost seven hours ago . . . and currently has a whopping THREE comments. All the fawning on her twitter notwithstanding, I have a feeling Kate will be shocked at just how fast everybody--besides her--moves on.

Oh and the "twitition" (really?) to "Keep Kate and her 8 on TV"? Started almost 40 hours ago, less than 300 signatures (and we know many of these are dupes, since one of Kate's tweeties bragged how she had signed under "all of her user names").

There really is no "bottom" where Kate Gosselin is concerned. No ignominy is too ignominious for her.

The sheeple need to get a clue about Jon's girlfriend. Kate has never once said anything bad about her in public. Not once.

This is Kate we're talking about, we sure as heck know if she wants to slam someone she will slam someone. She is off limits to Kate. Whatever her reasons are for not slamming her in public, it's a good choice for her children and much healthier than constantly trying to beat down your ex's new girlfriends. I don't understand why her fans don't take their lead from Kate on this issue.

Cash only really makes you question whether Mr. Tax Man knew about this don't it?!

Kate thinks her show being canceled is awful, try when Uncle Sam comes a knocking to start his audit. They have seven long years to investigate any abuses.

Mum's The Word said...

I wonder how many 'insiders' will start selling their stories to the media once Khate's contract expires. Former crew, nannies, sound guys etc., will tell tales of abuse of the kids, Khate's temper tantrums. The folks that TLC cannot shut up or threaten anymore.

___________

It depends on when the confidentiality agreement expires. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Kate's contract. Some C/As can run five years, ten years or even for a lifetime.

Tamara said...

While I 1000% agree that Jon should never come out with the horrible things we all know happened in those houses that didn't make the show, I do think Beth and Bob should, as well as Kevin and Jodi. The argument that the kid's deserve privacy is a flawed one considering the circumstances. Weighing their already incredibly diminished privacy versus the abuse, upset, and exploitation of the past 2-3 years, I think it was the wrong move. It ended up hurting the kids more.

I'm not sure what to think of Beth and Bob, and/or Jodi and Kevin coming out now. If the kids can be kept off tv then no way should anyone bring their lives back into the spotlight. But if Kate forces them back in front of the cameras....

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I'm not so sure Kate was smart enough to put all these people under iron-clad confidentiality agreements. She might of in very recent time but not for the bulk of this saga. Look and Jodi and Kevin, they said all kinds of stuff about what happened on the show and Kate never suggested they had a confidentiality agreement or tried to sue them. They first spoke out 2 years ago, I'm sure she would have sued them by now. Nothing, which suggests to me, she has nothing on them. Also, there's ways to weasel around confidentiality agreements, AND you can always give an interview anonymously and Kate would never be able to prove it's you.

Rhymes with Witch said...

I think it would have been TLC that had folks sign confidentiality agreements if anyone did.

I'll probably do a post soon on suing a network or reality show when something this tragic happens, but in the meantime, I don't think it's so much that you can't sue, you could certainly try it. The bigger problem is proving that the reality show or network caused the death.

If they can figure out a way to do it, it could change reality TV forever. This will be interesting to watch.

And somewhere men are laughing, and little children shout;
But there is no joy in Sheepleville — mighty Katie has struck out."

When they bought that house, I thought it was a stupendously bad idea. It's a money suck, and they were banking on a REALITY TV SHOW.

Bad idea. And Jon is very very lucky to be out from under that house (and Kate, heh). She owes somewhere in the neighborhood of $730,000 on it for the home and the land and it is currently valued at somewhere around $450,000.

Can Kate say "upside-downish?"

I'm very conservative when it comes to money. You live beneath your means and SAVE. That's the only way you can ever get ahead and you're not even guaranteed that.

But with an income of $3.5 million in 2010 (is that gross or net?), she SHOULD be earning interest on money like that. Let's go very conservative and say 1% interest every quarter. That's a bit over $11,000 a MONTH!

And I'm only considering her 2010 income, not any other year OR child support.

The thing is, you can't support yourself, eight kids AND a huge expensive house and property on $11,000-15,000 a month. She could EASILY support herself (by that I mean she would not work) and her kids living in a more modest home that didn't have the maintenance and upkeep that one does.

Then there's the private school, of course.

She's making choices here. She's ALWAYS made choices. When the doctors said sit out this cycle, too many follicles, she made a choice (and Jon back then didn't speak up). She made a choice to pursue the public eye and a career in grifting. She made a choice to put her kids on TV and take away their private identities. She made a choice in that house and land. Private school. Leaving her husband. Being such a horrible hag that her show got canceled for a lack of ratings.

At every turn, Kate makes CHOICES, but she likes to pretend that she didn't have a hand in anything negative. She did.

Personally, I think Child Protection should set camp at the compound and one should escort Kate whenever she travels with any of the children. She's a crazy rubber band waiting to snap at this point. Hey Kate, people have to "LIKE" you in order for twitter or online campaigns to work, unfortunately for you, 60% don't like you, 10% are nut jobs just like you and the other 30% don't know what the hell you are. I hope Jon and Ellen gets the children more now that they are not forced to work, they're the only safe haven these poor kids have. And I hope TLC sends the legal eagles after Kate soon and tell her to just STFU and be grateful for what she has gotten so far. Keep burning those bridges, Kate, pretty soon only your local PA stations will be the only ones giving you a 10 sec blurb.

Octomom's news is what turned me into what phoney grifters the Gosselins are. I watched 15 minutes of the episode when she still had short brown hair and layers of tummy flab and back then I thought, this is a documentary???? My skeeve meter came on full power and I turned the tv off. Back then I thought there is something wrong and phoney about Kate. The kind that tells you NOT TO GET INTO a lifeboat with this person kind of warning. 6 months I give it before we hear news about police and ambulance at the compound "escorting" the ex-Mrs. Gosselin out of her house for stress related disorder.

-----------
Eh, I would have to say that it wasn't the filming or the tv show that has caused most of these kid's problems. It has been their parent's reactions to fame, and, in the case of their mother, her narcissism and abuse.

While I don't think any children should ever be featured on a reality show, if the parents had handled it better things would have been fine.

Their mother's callous, and cruel treatment; playing favorites blatantly, the complete lack of interest in their lives, physical abuse, the almost obsession with gender rolls, the need for complete control over them, the dismissive attitude towards their emotions and opinions, the obvious pleasure she took in seeing them lose or in one upping them, the parental alienation and hatred toward their father, the isolation she forced on them, and of course banishing every person whom they have ever loved and depended on. These are the things that have hurt these kids, and will continue to.

It is really, really sad when the whole reality tv filming bit isn't even in the top 5 of the worst things someone has done to their child.

Is it skeeving anyone else out that people are tweeting about the kids like they're dead or something and Kate is re-tweeting them?

There was one a few hours earlier along the lines of "they'll always be in my heart and I'll never forget them!"

These are things you'd be more likely to say about someone who has PASSED AWAY.

Hey twitty fans of Kate: the kids are STILL ALIVE and they DO NOT EXIST TO ENTERTAIN YOU.

I swear it's just grossing me out the fascination with kids they've never met. I keep thinking about how the kids might feel (especially the ones with more private personalities) when they get older and realize there were people SO into watching their every single move.

True fact: I still don't know all their names, nor can I tell them apart. I do know the older girls' names, but I don't know who is who. I can't name all the six younger ones and I certainly can't tell them apart. I think I did that on purpose--I avoided knowing their names, because the show felt so invasive already (back when I caught it here and there).

Wish I didn't know their mom's name.

There is a well known sheeple who said 'I wish Jon would step in front of a bus and it would run him down', and yet in the same breath they say we are the ones who bash a mother for trying to provide for her kids. They also say they have never said anything as bad about Jon as we say about Kate. O.K., lets see your hands if you have ever wished death on Kate, a violent death at that. None. I thought not. You got that right, nor do I ever want to meet that witch.

Don't forget the often repeated Sheeple belief that Jodi and Kevin made a ton of money selling stories about Kate and paid their house off. Even after the documents were posted online that they refinanced their house (as most homeowners did with the low rates) and still have a normal sized mortgage, Sheeple still love spreading that false rumor.

Nobody knows what kind of an agreement (confidentiality) was signed or how long a gag order was imposed. Sometimes when those are signed, the signee is bound for an extended period of time. That length of time would be included in the agreement. If they sign it, it becomes a legal agreement and they are not free to disclose what they know until that period of time has passed.

Speaking of tweeple lies, I can't resist, how about the old lie from way back in 2009 that I begged for donations to pay off student loans? There have been many of you who have known me even from the GWOP days who know I never, ever did such a thing, it's a flat out lie and one I could have easily sued over. But then when they fabricated several more big lies without proof, I had several of you contact me and say well I had my doubts but now I see exactly what they did to you they did to Jon, etc. Maybe someone can remind me, I believe it was around last spring another tweeple completely fabricated an article about Jon, I can't remember what it was about, but when none of us could remember the article and pressed them to produce it, they actually tried to claim that Radar took it down or changed it as part of some kind of conspiracy. As if Radar cares!

Not only do they make up huge lies out of thin air, but they will stick to them for YEARS and when asked to produce evidence will come up with every excuse in the book why they don't have any.

There are some very vindictive tweeple out there. I got some harassing tweets when I held my contest again lying claiming I advocated reporting Kate to authorities (huh? I didn't comment on that discussion period and a review of my comments proves that, although last I checked when someone is breaking the law as Kate clearly was, it's a citizen's moral duty to report them so even if I did, wouldn't I just be upholding the goods laws of our country???). They are still at it and I suppose I can't blame them since they all feel like they just lost "their" kids. Those kids' childhoods do NOT belong to YOU, tweeple, BACK OFF.

What I find telling is that when one of their own was verbally attacked by Kate (not physical, not anything that is going to really hurt her, she was just a bit bullied by Kate), so many of us leaped to her defense. We leaped and we leaped immediately. And even after we were told by this tweeple she was fine that Kate did no wrong, we still stuck to our guns and defended her against Kate. It was the defense of a tweeple who has repeatedly spread lies and attacked us. Because that's the kind of folks who are here. They would never, ever do that for us, of that you can be sure.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Tamara but the law does recognize that parents are not always capable of protecting their children, and therefore puts many requirements on productions, how many depends on your state, to protect kids.

So the law has recognized that the production bears a lot of responsibility in protecting kids, not just parents. It has taken a "everyone who is involved is responsible" approach, which I tend to agree with.

You wouldn't get away with beating up a kid and then just say well it's not my kid the parent should have protected them from me.

Productions do have to hold some responsibility, and the law should require them to protect kids regardless if parents are doing it.

Again, a cookbook with loads of pics of the kids, because they want to see the kids for themselves. Not because they actually think a cookbook would be a fun project for the kids.

They are the most selfish, sick group of people ever. They are heavily, dysfunctionally invested in children who are not theirs and they think they have a RIGHT to their childhoods.

Hating on Hannah? What in the world are you talking about? Where is the "hate on Hannah" here

******

Tamara didn't say that people HERE (on this blog) hate on Hannah. I think she meant that there are those out there who dislike Hannah because she was the favorite. There are bloggers who post on other sites that Hannah, as well as Mady, are brats.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I don't think anyone here would support that, as I said I don't think anyone wants to be associated with "fringe" behavior as deplorable as it is.

I don't recall the last time I had even the inkling of a problem here with people saying inappropriate things about the kids. The vast majority of folks I've encountered have nothing but support in their hearts for these kids.

Tamara said...

I never said specifically here, but definitely at GWOP, which a lot of people here posted at. People would majorly snark about Hannah as if she invited her mother's favoritism and was manipulating it to hurt others. And they were talking about a 3-5 year old little girl! Same with Mady. I believe some press poll even named her Villain of the Year or something, and there were I Hate Mady facebook groups. Seriously sick stuff. Thankfully a lot of posters saw the good in Mady and spoke out about that kind of think, something her mother never seemed able, or willing, to do.

It is really, really sad when the whole reality tv filming bit isn't even in the top 5 of the worst things someone has done to their child.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Tamara,

I agree with you and wasn't trying to say that the filming was bad in and of itself. I agree that kart's greed and personality have been far more harmful to the kids. We've seen her verbally, emotionally and physically abuse them on the show. Which makes any reasonable adult suspect she does it in private also, probably to a worse degree.

My complaint with TLC is that they filmed some really private moments and the AIRED them - Joel in the van at the furniture store, one of the boys vomiting in the laundry room on the floor, the kids sitting on potty chairs, etc, etc.

Surely they could have found less intrusive scenes to air!

kart allowed that to be filmed and shown. TLC filmed it and showed it.

I think those kids got shafted, euphemistically speaking by both kart and TLC. But you are right, the treatment they recieve from their mother is far worse.

fidosmommy said...

If Hannah has the pooping in her undawares to cope with, one of the boys has his own little memorable moment he'll never live down. And it has nothing to do with vomit. It has to do with something he and his daddy both have.

I'm so sorry I have to know about this. It's not something I should even have in my memory banks. Thanks for nothin', Jon and Kate, for allowing that moment to be on TV.

It will be interesting to see if Steve is seen anywhere in the future with Kate. We all know she will be out galavanting to NYC soon trying to get some press. Will Steve be with her or is he indeed only there on TLC's dime and will be nowhere to be found?
Here's an interesting one though: Kate got a tweet on Monday morning, the same morning the axe fell, from a guy named Chris Sam, twitter ID CMS2022 from Reading, PA. His very first tweet to Kate was "Kate, add me so I can send u a message." To which Kate replied "omg! Where have u been? How are u? Will do!". Why would Kate add a man so instantly when others have been chatting with her over and over and no add for follow? Wait, here's where I'm going with this. He has since only tweeted Kate 2 or 3 times, telling Kate to check her messages and she replies that she has checked them.
A quick little bit of research shows a Chris Sam located in Wyommissing, PA., age 44, and was/is a police officer with Wyommissing Police Department, although the current roster shows around 15 officers and his name is not listed. Perhaps he is an ex-officer that now has his own security company? Odd that Steve would be off TLC payroll on Monday and along comes this guy. Totally speculating, but he is either Steve's new replacement or Kate may actually have found her love interest? We may soon be saying "Purseboy Chris, not to be confused with Chris the pap."

Teresa said...

Maybe "Chris" is code for Steve.

It,s not Hannah's fault Khate has chosen her to be her favorite. It's Khate fault for making it so obvious. That doesn't help Hannah or the rest of the kids. It's alienating her from the others.

Teresa said...

Oops, sorry, should have read more of the comment before sticking my nose in.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Sometimes too CONCERN about the children have been

We have discussed the children's behavior here. But it's all been in the context of blaming other people or things for it, usually Kate and the stress of having to work away their childhoods. If we've talked about certain children being favored, it's in the context of the parenting choices Kate makes to favor some children and disfavor others, a fact she all but freely admits when she talks about her special bond with one particular child since infancy. I don't consider talking about Kate's poor parenting as it has manifests itself in the kids "trashing" the kids.

After all, it's been two and a half daze since TLC dropped the ax; she must be in desperate need of some heavy duty "luxuriating" by now.

What's sickening to me about Kate and her twitter tweeple is how she Retweets all the sick/private voyeuristic moments that her 'fans' are recalling. Poop, P*nises and Potties tend to be #1 on her fans highlights.
Kate really doesn't 'get the damage she has caused her children. My children would be mortified to have adults and teens idolizing their private moments.

And...Kate's response to one of her 'biggest fans' who advised her not to do the Bachelorette, because of the negative opinion of it, was that "...you had to look at all the aspects." What ASPECTS? Is money more important than your reputation? Wait, we're talking about Kate here, forget it, it was a rhetorical question.
I'm sure Julie Carson May is out there trying to get a gig for Kate right now, any gig. Most agents make between 10-15% off their clients job opportunities. If Kate is out of a job, Julie is out of $$$ as well.

A Pink Straight Jacket For Kate THANKS for posting the transcript from Showbiz tonight. I had just found it and was going to post it. They told the TRUTH about this woman. She is NOT entertaining, nor interesting. Her attitude has always sucked. You would THINK after all these years she would have learned something. How to speak, how to interview people. I remember when she was announced to be the "special correspondent" for the Skating with the Stars show. She appeared ONCE. That was it. And as usual, every inerview was turned around to HER. She just never "gets it". Her demise on TV will be her own fault. Yet, she will blame everyone else, as usual.

I still cannot get over her remarks about Jon and why he should have a voice about the kids, since he "only" sees them two weekends a month. This woman has let her bitterness get the best of her. She is really looking horrible. I can only imagine how she looks now, after the show being cancelled.

And as far as Kate having a plan B? LOL She put everything into this show, and from her remarks, I really think she thought this show would go on forever. Her ego just knows no bounds. The twitter traffic is pathetic. Maybe that IS her new "career".

No Regrets said...

As far as Kate wanting to go into acting or producing or whatever she "dreams" of, just cracks me up. LOL This woman really think she can step in front of a camera and suddenly act? No acting lessons? Nothing to prepare. Produce? I just cannot believe her incredible ego.

Dallas Lady said...

That twitition is sad. A smidge under 500 signatures and most of them multiple signatures from the same person.

I say it's sad because these people are spending their time trying to save the reality TV show of an ungrateful wench.

If they got 5 million distinct signatures, that might be worth talking about. But then TLC could legitimately say "ok where are four million of those people when the show is on?"

Someone needs to tell Kate's most rabid sheeple that there's a devastating drought and famine going on in east Africa, babies dying in their mother's arms, mothers so malnourished they can't even nurse anymore. It's heartbreaking. A wealthy woman with job skills who just lost her TV show is hardly in need of help, nor will she benefit from their help, anyway.

Falling like a brick said...

Pink...thanks from me as well for the transcript. Isn't it funny now how there are those coming out against this woman and her bitter vitriol? Now that she is no longer under the TLC umbrella she's going to get dumped on. I think TLC was tired of covering for her and cleaning up her messes. Any interview from now on will probably be more hard hitting, seeing as how she doesn't have the Mammoth Discovery Network behind her anymore. She and JMC are on their own to promote this hot mess and her 'craft'.

I will guarantee that there will be no more trips to NYC to get her hair done. I believe that TLC was still paying for those trips as part of production expenses so she looked good for couch interviews. If you look at the dates she went to NY and then when she said she was filming interviews you will see they co-relate. What you will also see is that when she did go none of the premier stylists (Ted, Jason, etc.) did her hair (except for the last one they filmed) instead she was seeing assistants. It costs less $$$ in the long run.

Speaking of her hair, her Lo-budget trip across the West was probably the last straw as well. if she was that rude to Ashley and Jaime - who she 'needs' for help, imagine how she was treating the kids and the film crew.

I would have love to have been a fly on the wall when they were editing the last couple of shows. I'm sure there's a "Kate" gag reel out there that the TLC cronies will bring out for every holiday party.

It's going to be great for the kiddos to actually go to school when their shows are no longer on the air (TLC doesn't even seem to be airing many repeats) and actually live like NORMAL kids. Now if we can get the tweeple to stop obsessing over those little human beings and let them live out the rest of their lives in peace.

Dallas Lady good post.

Africa is in such sad, sad shape. All the organizations trying to help there, doesn't seem to put a dent in the problems. People right here in this country are losing their homes right and left. Can barely feed their own kids. Even some of her own fans have tweeted about their problems. Yet, this woman is implying she will be starving almost unless she has her show. These fans do not even THINK of all the money she has made. Even with 8 kids, she has enough WITH GOOD PLANNING to last her for many years. And she can ALWAYS downsize. Millions have had to do just that. Sure she wants the show back. She could just travel and do nonsense things and get paid big bucks for sitting on her lazy butt. LOL

Amen Pink. I especially have to laugh when she says she has the "gift of gab" so why not use it. Sure she CAN talk and talk, but she says NOTHING. Unless she is complaining, there is nothing else she says to listen to. I cannot imagine her trying to host a talk show. What a boring disaster that would be.

I read Kathy Griffins book. Love her or hate her, that woman worked her buns off to get where she is now. Same with many A=listers and singers. They didn't just get it handed to them by any means. All the fawning the fans do is just sickening and she buys every single word of it.

My husband and I combined make MUCH less and we are fine. In fact I just went back to work last week (and only PT) after being unemployed since April - and we are still fine. Why? Because we live w/i our means. We have an 811 sq. ft. house (there's just us and the dog), drive older cars (paid for), don't eat out very often and have not taken a vacation together in 6 years (except weekends at the lake cabin we inherited).
Guess what? We are very happy and don't feel deprived at all!

Sheeple continue to baffle me...
------------------------
Even if YOU HAVE a daughter named Hannah, why would you say it? This is gross. Just disgusting. Poor little Hannah. Can you imagine when Hannah goes to high school & she's walking down the hall? Are kids going to throw underwear at her or scream that sentence at her? She will never live that down. The Gosslin kids are going to have a lot of things that will give them a hard time living down. Kids leaving potty's near their lockers, kids wearing Kate's wig, I can see it all now. Kids can be so cruel. It's good they have each other, but I think they'll have a hard time.

New stuff is coming out about Russell Armstrong that is starting to sound eerily similar to what happened when Kate and Jon got divorced and the Kate's show become her public forum to air all their dirty laundry.

Now Russell's mom is saying he talked to her at length about how the show was affecting him, here's part of her interview:

Once it aired, "I watched it slowly destroy their marriage," she told HLN's "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell."

"Before the new season even started, before he took his life, he said, 'Mom, they're just going to crucify me this season,' " Hotchkiss said. "He said, 'I don't know what to do. I'll never survive it.' I thought he meant businesswise or something," Hotchkiss said. "Perhaps there was a double meaning there. I don't know."

Russell Armstrong was found dead at a home in the hills above the Los Angeles suburb of Bel Air on Monday, police said. His wife had filed for divorce in July, telling People magazine that she was verbally and physically abused during their nearly six-year marriage.

Hotchkiss said her son was upset by the criticism of other cast members and complained that "All the network cares about are ratings."
