Kate and kids spotted filming at Mt. Rushmore: 'What's crazy horse?'

'My rushmore,' tweets Kate

A few tourists have spotted Kate and the kids, with a camera crew, seeing Mount Rushmore. Kate famously tweeted last April about wanting to visit the monument, asking a fan from South Dakota, "What's crazy horse?"

Kateplusmy8 Kate Gosselin@J_Meland Have dreamed forever of going there... My rushmore is huge on my list for me and kids! Yay! What's crazy horse?

"My" Rushmore? Narcissistic slip?

I just so love it's WHAT'S crazy horse. Not, who's Crazy Horse.

Did she think it was maybe a supermarket like the Piggly Wiggly?

Poor Abe. Don't you think he's been through enough? First he was assassinated, then there were plots to steal his body, his casket was opened six times to make sure he was still there, and finally his coffin was buried in a huge cage ten feet deep and then encased in 4,000 pounds of cement.

Now he has to "live" cheek to cheek, or head to head with Kate Gosselin for all eternity. Give the guy a break!

Just curious said...

Kate on Mt. Rushmore! Hilarious.

I remember the "What's crazy horse?" That was around the same time as "Kiwis are the birds with no arms." We had some great laughs.

I wonder if she kept the trip hush, hush so her delusional fans in S. Dakota wouldn't tweet her about meeting up for lunch.

Do you suppose her South Dakota fan is hurt that Kate basically stole her idea and went there and didn't tell her? This is what we mean when we say Kate toys with fans.

LOL that's right poor Abe. I want to see that movie The Conspirator about the assassination trial and aftermath.

You know I'm guessing as far as budgets go, South Dakota is a pretty low-budget trip.

By the way sorry about the crappy photoshop, this was a hard one and the tutorials how to do it ended up being way more work than I felt like doing so I sort of did a bastardized version....enough to get the idea across anyway!

Why is it she gets what she wants? Because she has 8 count 'em 8 kids- that gives her the entitlement to suggest she wants something and then gets it? PAHLEEZE! Also think it's funny that she's so defensive about that ab crunch machine. She has to be reading the negative posts and blogs- why else would she suddenly respond to this? Please- just make it stop! What really angers me is that Khate doesn't even like going places- Jon did. She only goes because she's being paid to do so and to be filmed but I really don't think she enjoys it! If she had it her way- she'd be sitting on a beach and having someone else watch her kids! And- I really hate when bad behavior is rewarded! As much as I dsilike Paris and the Kardashians- I have never seen them act rude to their fans or to workers- like Khate. Jon was always the one pleasant to everyone and that includes the kids. I can't believe she has been allowed to throw him under the bus and get paid so well to do so and now to reap the rewards from it- Geesh! I'm liking Octomom more and more these days. She at least seems to really like being with her kids. Yes- she's a whack job but for some reason- she doesn't bother me as much!

OT. Admin - I'm fascinated with that period in history and everything connected with Lincoln and the Civil War. I can't tell you how many times I've been to Ford's Theater and Peterson's Boarding House (where he died), and each time I come away having learned something new. Just to be able to walk to the box where he was assassinated and feel the history there is something that sends me away with chills each time. I was finally able to get to Dr. Samuel Mudd's house last summer and that, too, was an experience I'll never forget. On my bucket list is the bus tour of Booth's escape route and the taverns and homes along the way.

Although The Conspirator was panned by critics, I liked it. There remain so many unanswered questions as to the guilt or innocence of Mary Surratt and the co-conspirators.

I just read the Halle Berry story about the stalker, SCARY! He has waltzed onto her property three times. She was in her kitchen and saw him coming toward them, she was home. So many people know where Kate lives, not only that but we've seen quite a bit of the layout of the house in the episodes. Anyone with half a brain could figure out how to get at them.

Stalkers are real and it happens, but why make your chances of something terrible happening worse by toying with your fans????

The celeb I worked for actually met a few times with the half-crazy person who used to run her web site. This was back in the day before celeb web sites were run mostly by professionals and before the internet was huge for celeb news/sites. She was a fan who started the site then persisted in making it the official one, showing up on set day after day as part of the audience to pitch it to her, and STUPIDLY the celeb eventually allowed it. It took about 5 years as I recall to get the site out from under the crazed fan's grip so the celeb could have a normal person i.e. non-fan redo and run the site to not look like an obsessed person's bible on the celeb.

While I don't think (though can never be sure) the crazy would ever hurt anyone, her obsession was downright WEIRD (she did her hair like the celeb, dressed like her, knew everything about her and would rattle off stats about her to impress her) and when she was given a few inches, she wanted a mile, just like Kate fans. Once she actually was permitted direct contact with the celeb, she was bothering her morning and night--endless phone calls, emails, requests for meetings. And I think it was the naive celeb's first, and last, glimpse into what it's like to actually make serious contact with a fan. I came into the picture as they were trying to cut her loose and it was a little scary to watch.

You really cannot count on these people being safe and if you make the mistake of reaching out to them as Kate has so much on twitter, she could fall victim to the inch/mile trap just like other celebs have and it could be dangerous if the wrong fan is upset.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Oh you might ask why did it take five years to get rid of her? They were afraid to just cut her off. Can you blame them? They were trying to let her go very carefully and easily.

SHE KNEW HERE THEY LIVED AND HAD BEEN OVER.

There are a lot of great places they could take the kids that would be fun for them, but I am not holding my breath that they will actually do that.

I wonder if they will go visit world famous Wall Drug (http://www.walldrug.com) while they are in that area though? Kate would H A T E it, but the kids would probably have fun.

My son and his dad just went on the volksmarch at Crazy Horse monument last month and they sent me amazing close up pictures of the monument.

(FYI: the word volksmarch is clickable, though for me it doesn't look like a link in the preview)

Yup Kate, you were convincing, with photos to prove it. But now, you are trying to make money pitching an ab machine, so now to be clear you DO have one, and DO use it, and ARE NOT LYING. Does it not seem funny that, TLC can afford to fly them to Mt Rushmore, but could not take them to Hersey Park? Kate tweeted that Hersey Park was expensive, just like the gym thing, and any local trip. If I were a kid and the same ages as Kates kids, I would rather go to a water park, amusement park, even the zoo, than go to Mt. Rushmore. For one reason the kids are too young to fully appreciate, what Mt Rushmore is or means. Much less remember properly. To them it will be a bunch of faces on some rock/wall. It will be a wasted trip. At their age, they want to have fun, a water park, amusement park, yes even Disney would be more interesting to kids that age than some carved rock faces. To adults & I, we would find beauty, history, etc. Kids would not even remember what they saw or who those guys were.
But, I'm sure Kate will make them watch the episode. Kate reminds me of a coach, making the team watch DVD of their performances and then tell them what they are doing wrong. What mother does that?

so sick of her said...

Mama Mia: Kate contradicted herself, in earlier tweets: she said that she was fooling the public to think she does this and that she won't do it again. Which means: my arms are sore, and I will not be using this abs machine again, but I fooled the public into thinking I do use it.
And going through O'Hare airport, that airport is one hugh airport, most people are too busy to notice Kate & kids, the one who did was getting on the same plane and said she saw no camera crew or cameras, or helpers. All the times I've gone to O'hare flying in & out, I don't remember any paps who hang out at the airport, with all the security, these days, a person, much less an adult wanting to say good-bye to a child is allowed pass check-in. And at check-in they are very watchful and it is crowded. I don't think Kate even got a police escort, Chicago police are being pull from aldermen detail and put back on the street, to protect the citizens of Chicago not escort a reality star and kids, through the airport, they have better/important things to do.

Kelly said...

I'm sure Kate is not real pleased about being shuttled out to South Dakota. I don't think there are too many P people out there waiting for faux celebrities. If she had waited two more weeks, she could have participated in the 71st anniversary of Sturgis Bike Week and there would have been hundreds of P people to film Kate with every biker she could have imagined.

A couple more posts on facebook about seeing Kate at Mount Rushmore. One person said they were filming the kids every move (blech!) and another said it was "sad" to see them exploited like that.

Not to start a debate but I'm not sure I have never really put this on my list of places to go even though I was once close by in Nebraska. I'm a big hiker/park/nature person, plus a history buff, moreso when I was younger and had more time. But it kind of bothers me this was carved into a natural mountain thus forever changing the mountain. I can see looking at it and taking a few pictures I guess, but then turning around and going home.

I bet shallow Kate sees this as a step down from a fancy trip to Australia or a beach house in N.C.

E-town Neighbor, I have seen this fan referred to a few times, and decided to look at her tweets. Wow. This is the kind of fan that WOULD show up at the supermarket where Kate broadcasts that she shops, OR her home. She even lives near her! I would be VERY leary of this one. There are a few on there who are, frankly, downright unstable. And Kate has suggested they have a get together?? The paps have mostly lost interest. So she doesn't even have that "protection" of someone always around to report anything that might happen. She talks of running by herself. Jeez. The BEST thing is to take Shoka with her, for protection. Kate is clearly not only dumb, but very naive. That really convinces me that she is also very ignorant about who she lets around those kids. IE: the crew "dads". Not saying they are pervs, but you NEVER know. Yes, I know we get accused of being perverted just by talking about it. These people are just as naive and dumb to not even consider or trust that everyone is "ok". I doubt she even considers anything like that, from the way she talks to the fans and blabs all her business.

Kate really needs to have friends, AND make peace with her family that is near. The way she blabs on twitter, this woman clearly has no one in her life, regardless what she claims.

I think Kate knows deep down that fans might be dangerous. But she can't keep the kids on lockdown from the fans because then how would she exploit them and make money. The fans are a double edged sword because some of them are creepy and sound dangerous, but she still needs them to make money.

Given the choice, she will take a $20 bill from a creepy fan and let them around the kids rather than lock her door on them. Money is that important to her.

________________________

The little ones might be just a bit too young to appreciate it, although at this age, they will remember it. They are seven, and they will be studying the Presidents and I would hope they know who George Washington is. I was the twins' age when I saw Mt. Rushmore, and I really do remember it in detail. Our class had learned about it in fourth grade, so the summer that I went, I was anxious to see it, and it wasn't just rocks. Even at that young age, it was something that fascinated me and to this day, I remember the bus tour out there, and the Black Hills. I'd love to return some day.

The kids doing zoos would be overkill. They've done the wildlife thing so many times. I also think that while they would probably rather go to a water park, TLC has to think about what bring in more ratings. An amusement or water park just aren't going to do it. Ratings were low on the Australian adventure; going to an amusement park would be even worse. I guess a historic place in this country is a happy medium. They're going to try their luck with this one.

Back in 2007 I thought about going to Sturgis with my brother and some friends on our Harleys. I ordered a video called "Ride to Sturgis" to see what the trip would be like. On the video, the road traveled seemed like it would be fun but very long and very exhausting. What I noticed in the video was once above the tree line, there was no vegetation and it appeared to be nothing but mountains and rocks.

The narrator on the video made a stop at Devil Rock and Mt. Rushmore and a couple of other well known places before they eventually made their way to Sturgis. Having seen it on the video, I decided that the trip would have been fun going out but the ride back would have been very stressed.

I don't think this trip will be a big deal with Kate. She complains about a week in a million dollar beach house in Bald Head, I can almost hear her bitching about a couple of days in a log cabin motel in South Dakota.

You know regarding Kate "having no one" I have to say some of my fondest vacation memories are with extended family. My family went a few places with my maternal grandparents, including out to explore Canada, the mid-west (St. Louis, river boat ride, etc), and other places. My paternal grandparents were a lot older and couldn't travel but we did go to them to local amusement parks. I also went to D.C. with a few of my cousins, and Texas. And I'm doing Italy with some family next year!

Kate goes on ALL these wonderful trips and never once does an extended family member go. It's just her and the kids and paid help, every single time.

I feel sorry for the kids because taking yourself out of your element and spending all day and night with family can be a very good bonding time and that's when you REALLY make memories if that's so important to Kate. I will forever remember fishing with Grandpa in Canada and him getting the hook all stuck on his pant leg lol.

*******************************

I agree, but Kate doesn't care if the trip is fun for the kids. I don't think Kate gives a flying flip where they go, as long as, TLC is paying for it and she has people catering to her needs, she is treated like a diva and most importantly a crew of people watching her kids for her. It is not about the kids, it is about HER getting HER "bucket list" fulfilled and her bucket list consists of any and every thing the sheeple can come up with for her to do. As we all know, she doesn't have an original thought in that bleached out head of hers. Maybe if she tried doing some activities 7 and 10 year olds would enjoy, they wouldn't have to be screamed at and ordered around all day. They might actually look happy and random tweeters wouldn't comment on how Kate is UPSET with them. Although, when isn't she upset with them. If they are around, she is irritated.

The kids would have had a much better time at Hershey Park and they could easily make an hour long episode out if it. There is a lot to do and see there. PROBLEM IS, Kate doesn't like crowds. She doesn't like to roam with the peasants and even TLC can't get Hershey Park to close down for her.

So, off to Mt. Rushmore. Here is her tweet:

Playing hard! Learning lots. Making memories! Having a blast! In real life... But as you know our crew/cameras are with us! ;)

Oh, doesn't she sound so happy and energetic. Really Kate? Learning lots? I bet if we asked her today, who's faces are on Mt. Rushmore, she couldn't answer. She wouldn't be paying any attention to "Mr. Mt. Rushmore Tour Guide Man!"

I had to laugh at the poster who mentioned her "making memories" with the crew, rather than her own family members and scrapbooking them!! LOL

She is a piece of work. A pathetic has been.

It might be fun to just stick Kate on Mount Rushmore forever. Then she would have to beg for "oil can!" the rest of her life.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

It also makes me very sad that this is the very reason Kate did not enroll the kids in summer camp or VBS or any fun activity. She had to hold out on TLC to tell them where they would go this summer. She couldn't very well have Cara in soccer camp this week if something for filming came up. As many have pointed out summer camp registration is in February, and Kate made it very clear she had no clue if or where they were going this summer. She HELD OUT and her kids have paid the price. Sick. No offense to Mt. Rushmore but I think a week in summer camp would have 10 times the benefits for the kids at this stage.

"ADMIN Kate goes on ALL these wonderful trips and never once does an extended family member go. It's just her and the kids and paid help, every single time."

EXACTLY, her mother could enjoy a trip or two. Enjoy the kids and the kids enjoy her. Or cousins or anyone. TLC would not object. Look how Jodi and Beth went along on trips. Now, she does have BFF Jaime, who lives in a different state. LOL Th only constant with this BFF is on the phone. It is just so sad that she did this to herself for money. As you said money is more important to her. When the kids do leave in a 8 years or so, this woman will be in that "mine all mine" alone and blaming everyone but herself. And no, I don't think she will remarry. As she said herself, SHE scared the 'world' away. The funny thing about this "new" Kate, she is so so friendly on twitter, bright sunshiny, but from the sounds of the reviews is still that same old nasty peice of work. She can't change who she really is, without some serious work. Which we all know she is too lazy to do. Plue she thinks she is perfect. Her fans back up this ridiculous notion so she won't ever admit something is wrong. sigh

In 8th grade, we went to D.C. for a field trip & went to Ford's theater & it was amazing, all the history, where Lincoln was shot. I was so engrossed in what the tour guide had to say, my friends were laughing at me. We also got to see Abe Lincoln's pillow. It was GROSS & encased in glass. That time period is so very interesting. I agree.

About this trip, seems TLC won't vouch for anything too expensive & ONLY something educational HUH? Aw, poor Kate. No Ireland, no more Australia, no Paris. Face it Kate, it's O.V.E.R. This sounds like it will be a snooze fest of an episode if it even come to fruition.

No Regrets, a French fan traveling in the U.S. came up to their gate once and rang the bell. I was creeped the f- OUT! Her husband is a big guy and not intimidated and politely asked her to leave. They didn't call the cops since she cooperated and when you call the cops there's a public record police report that the tabloids could pick up on. If I recall narcissist wasn't home at the time but still her KIDS WERE!!!

I have always been shy and never wanted to be famous but after that I knew there was NOTHING you could offer me to put up with that kind of creepiness, I could not take it. Get it Kate fans? MANY people consciously hate this lifestyle and want nothing to do with it. I was a bit paranoid for the kids after that, looking over my shoulder and so on but nothing ever happened. I used to have fears someone would kidnap them or hurt them on my watch. I adored them but it almost wasn't worth it. I cannot imagine being their mommy and knowing you let a creepy fan into your house around them thinking it would be fine. I would feel like I let them down and I think she did feel bad about it, but maybe it was a good lesson that needed to be learned before she did anything anymore dangerous. Oh also the creepy fan who ran the web site started demanding MONEY too when she had made the web site all along for free. It's one thing to be hired on by them. Quite another to force yourself on them with a web site you already made for free, then demand payment after the fact. WTF.

Out of curiosity I googled former creepy fan and web site mistresses blog which is low and beyold still up after all the time. She has some new obsessions now, a lot of delusions about breaking into a certain industry, and is no less creepy.

Mt. Rushmore is a really BAD place for this family to visit. The children are too young to appreciate anything that's there - the exhibits, the unbelievable amount of work that went into creating the monument,

(and Admin, I agree with you...although one of the things I was impressed with when I was there was the sheer imensity of the project. Ditto for Crazy Horse (lol the monument, so the "what", not the "who", although I also know who the "who" was!)...when I was last there (1990) you could only see the very beginnings of it (Crazy Horse's nose), and that was only if you looked at the diagram/picture of the end product and back up at the mountainside and then back down and then you said "oh yeah...I see it....sort of...". I just looked it up and the face - just the face, not CH's body or his horse or any of the other stuff that they planned - was completed and dedicated in 1998.)

, the scenery. And Kate herself doesn't care about any of that either - she's all about going places where there are "things to do." There aren't things to do in the Black Hills - there are things to look at, things to read about. Unless they're planning on actually hiking or mountain biking or something like that and the thought of THAT just makes me laugh! I'm not surprised to hear that she was upset with them. They were probably forcing the kids to look at the exhibits and the mountain and be all oooh and ahhhh and they were probably bored. A young mind can't really appreciate how much time, work, artistry, and effort went into to creating such a monument.

I would guess (or hope) that they will also visit Badlands National Park, which is not too far from Mt. Rushmore and Rapid City (where they would fly into.) But once again, it is going to be beautiful scenery, hiking, camping....nothing the family enjoys. Or rather; the kids would enjoy it if they were just given the chance to be kids, but they won't be.

I think that she knew if she begged enough, TLC would oblige. She has them wrapped around her little finger. Of course the kids should have gone to summer camp for two weeks, but think about it, Kate would not have been in control and they would have been around other kids and counselors she didn't know. Can you imagine the laundry eight kids at camp would have dragged home with them? She would have been whining about it for weeks! Poor exhausted Mom! I know when mine come home, I dump the contents of their duffles in the garage and sort through it there - muddy clothing, bugs, rocks, dead wildflowers, "souvenirs" that should have stayed at camp! I know that mine love the camp experience and will remember it for the rest of their lives. I hope that sometime before it's too late, all of those children get that special summertime away to be with kids their own age.

The big thing, though, is that they couldn't have filmed and she would have been forced to fork over the money. It's all about the filming, not what the kids want to do. I wonder if Jon has no say at all in what the kids do in the summer. If he wanted them to go to summer camp, would he have been allowed to send them if he were paying for it?

No bones about it, just a random creepy fan she wanted to watch the kids.

Kate? Don't be a cheep-o. Go through a nanny agency or au pair agency, pay the fee. They specialize in thorough background checks and will match you up with someone who is not a fan but knows how to conduct themselves and be protective of celebrity kids. Remember that reality show Bug Juice about summer camp? Or the miniseries Fat Camp? Both programs were great and had a huge following. Kids at camp is surprisingly, rather interesting if done right. Of course hopefully no camp would ever ALLOW camera to film the poor kids there and this would never happen, but goes to show how Kate can't think past the nose on her face. She just wants the trip and the show to go on to get more trips, period.

No Regrets said...

ADMIN that would creep me out too to have someone show up at the door! Look at the idiots who stopped along the fence talking to Jon. Just sitting there watching. Kate wants this attention, then gripes and complains because "no one respects their privacy". This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. She hates these people, she freaks out if they approach or take pictures, wants the places cleared out so they can 'enjoy' it. Yet, constantly blabs on twitter like they are besties LOL Such a hypocritical user.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

If it creeps Kate out to have fans watching and taking photos from a football field away at her fence, is she not creeped out at a fan sitting in the comfort of their own home watching the kids up close and personal?

She doesn't see how it's essentially the same thing, she really doesn't.

No Regrets said...

ADMIN she can't "see" the fans when they watch the show. So it does not connect with her. She is making MONEY. That is all she 'sees'. I am convinced she has told those kids that there will be NO MORE trips, no more anything unless they cooperate and film. Hopefully, as they grow older they will see thought this threat and all say ENOUGH. I really hope so. I have read how disrepectfully some of the kids talk to her now on the show. My gawed, imagine in a few short years when they really get mouthy in their teens. That is going to be horrible.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The kids talk very disrespectfully to Kate although I hate to say it, at least that means they're not afraid to speak their mind to her. At some point behind the scenes Cara clearly spoke up and said no more couch interviews. I think for Kate it's less about respecting her wishes and more about feeling like there is nothing Kate can do to force her.

I think deep down Kate has no control over these kids, as evidenced by the way they talk to her. And I think that scares the crap out of her.

No Regrets said...

"Warmth of the Sun... If he wanted them to go to summer camp, would he have been allowed to send them if he were paying for it?"

If that would interfere with all the filming SHE would NOT allow it. It seems like Jon has no voice in this at all, and the courts seem to favor this female all the way. Plus I have no doubt that whatever Jon wants to do, she will say no, no matter what it is.

No Regrets said...

"She is a cow...She wouldn't be paying any attention to "Mr. Mt. Rushmore Tour Guide Man!"

Ha ha. Such childish names she gives to these people. Disrepectful too. I think this is why those kids seem so very immature for their 7 years. You talk to kids like little babies, they can't 'grow up' in thought or vocabulary.

Vanessa said...

I agree the kids speak very disrespectfully to Kate, but I think it's because they are only mirroring her behaviour. Ever watch Supernanny?
Most of those really obnoxious, disrespectful kids all have had terrible role models. Just wait! The disrespect has only just begun with the Gosselin EIGHT, count'em EIGHT!

No Regrets said...

Regarding the disrespect the kids are showing. Yes, it does show they are not afraid of speaking up. It also clearly shows SHE has not taught them HOW to be respectful. If the fans would only think about that. How can this demanding mother, "you can't make a mess" "walk" "you get what you get" etc, yet those kids are really being very rude and like the hitting all those years, she does nothing about that. How can she? SHE has no respect for anyone, not even the kids. How can she teach them respect? According to her they thank her for everything, over and over. So appreciative of their "wonderful" mother, yet talk to her with such disprect? The two do not fit. She wants people to think she is just adored x8. I have no doubt they do love her, but from the sounds of it, they don't respect her. Could it be they hear about how badly she disses Jon? Or she does it to them? If she goes on national TV and drags him down, most likely she talks just as badly TO them about him.

Admin, I think the opposite. I think she has ALL the control over the kids, to the point of being abusive. I would not be surprised to learn that the kids only backchat when the film crew is there or they are in public. 7 year olds can definitely understand the power of an audience and know that while Kate might punish them for it later, they can get their licks in when others are watching. Mady and Cara must know they are old enough to have an opinion matter to the powers that be, and have the ability to articulate the crappiest parts of life with Kate. It must be hard though. Wanting to rebel, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised it they also defend their Mom. People here seem to forget that even the most horribly abused kids still love their abuser because she is their mom.

The kids would get a kick out of the begging burros in Custer State Park, so I hope that is part of their itinerary. I can just hear Kate's freak-out as the herd approaches the car, though, LOL. Last time I was in the Black Hills, we rented a small compact car. Came around a blind curb in Custer and there was an enormous bull bison standing in the middle of the road. He was bigger than our car. There was no way around him, so we sat there looking at him and praying he wouldn't decide to charge, and he stared at us for what seemed like hours (probably 5 minutes or so LOL), then majestically strolled off down the side of the road. The kids would also enjoy the outdoor Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant in DeSmet, too, if it's running right now. That is, if Kate's ever allowed them to read the Little House books or watch reruns of the TV show. And since Kate's still intent on impressing people with what a great Christian she is, there's always the outdoor Passion Play in Spearfish. I'd suggest a visit to Lead, too, but they've already done the panning for gold bit in Alaska. Mt. Rushmore would probably interest the twins. They're old enough to know who the men are and to appreciate the work of carving out the mountain, but the younger kids were probably bored to tears.

Absolutely. Kate has taught them none of that. I remember watching them in a restaurant in Hawaii and there were no manners, no please or thank you (not from Kate, either) and also at a gift shop when the employee let them choose a toy. None said thank you. I also remember the Chocolate World episode. At the end of the ride, each received a candy bar, and I watched specifically to see how many said thank you. I think only one or two did. I do remember several times that Jon reminded them to say thank you, but with Kate, I think it's hit or miss.

My two-year-old says please and thank you for everything, even at the table at home and when she has lost a toy and you've found it for her. Teaching manners cannot begin early enough. If I put in a video she wants to watch, she always says "thank you!" We've always asked our children, "What are the three words?" and they'll answer with, "MAY I PLEASE?" Of course they watch us holding the door open for other people, and so forth. Manners are not always taught verbally, but so much is learned by just watching. The sad thing is that those kids see Kate disrespecting people with an attitude of entitlement, and that's what they are learning.

I don't understand what some of you have seen, from those kids, that makes you think they are disrespectful to Kate.
The only thing I have seen is fear and misery from them. To me, they live in a state of constant fear and come across as very unhappy children.Yes, you might see a smile here and there, but mostly they look as though they are terrified to open their mouths.
These children should be "giddy" with all the exciting adventures they have had, but they just seem to be hiding behind their fear and uncertainy.
Do they love their mother, of course they do, they are still very young. But when they become teenagers with raging hormones flying, Kate will gladly sign them over to Jon.
It's a damn shame he doesn't have them now, there still could be hope for them.

Yes, and from reading subsequent tweets, she's really strange and very immature, not quite as over the top as the Paige person or the one who wants to meet Kate's kids in the park, or the one who was so lonely on the Fourth that she begged Kate to let her come over and keep her company. Still, there are some very stalkerish tweeters that Kate engages on a regular basis! Doesn't Kate realize that she's playing with fire there, or doesn't she just care as long as she maintains a tweeter base and her followers keep growing? I guess it's not the quality, but the quantity that's important to her.

Either Kate does not notice or cares or is tryin to keep them babyist, so people will say aren't they cute. NOT!
I just heard that a restuarant, will not allow anyone under 5. You know why and sorry moms, this is toward the moms who don't teach their kids manners. There have been times, that parents say nothing and think it's cute that their kids is being obnoxious, no respect for others. I remember one person I worked with, would go to a expensive restaurant, and someones daughter was wondering around, sticking her fork in peoples food, and the idiot mother thought that was cute. She told the mother she does that again I will stab her hand, I told her you are lucky you didn't you would have been arrested. Well, the kid did it again even after complaining to the management, she told the manager, to put this meal on the parents tab, for she was not paying for someones kid eating her food. I think that is what I would have done too. I don't really blame that restaurant. I think it's wonderful when parents take time to teach kids how to behave and manners in eating places. It's some kind of idiot thinking that well they are little, BS, it's just lazyness on their part.

Some facts about Mt. Rushmore:

The sculptor, Gutzon Borglum, was born from polygamy. His father, James Miller Borglum, was a Mormon who was "married" to Borglum's mother and his mother's sister (the legal wife). Eventually, the elder Borglum left the LDS church.

Borglum the sculptor was a patriot, who believed that the "monuments we have built are not our own." He wanted to create art that was "American, drawn from American sources, memorializing American achievement". Borglum was a Nativist, who believed stridently in Manifest Destiny.

Borglum was chosen in 1923 to carve a memorial honoring the heroes of the Confederacy in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He was a suitable choice, since he was an active member of the KKK, which provided major funding for the project. Borglum was also part of the Imperial Koncilium, a council of high ranking Klansmen, who controlled the transfer of power of Imperial Wizards.

Controversy of the Mt. Rushmore carvings remains today. The U.S. government took the area from the Lakota tribe after the Great Sioux War of 1876. This contradicted The Treaty of Fort Laramie of 1868, which had granted the Black Hills to the Lakota in perpetuity. A group from the American Indian Movement occupied the monument in 1971, deeming it "Mount Crazy Horse". One of the activists was Lakota holy man, John Fire Lame Deer. He planted a prayer staff at the summit of the mountain. Lame Deer claimed the staff formed a symbolic shroud over the presidents' faces "which shall remain dirty until the treaties concerning the Black Hills are fulfilled."

Admin mentioned the sadness of carving something so large out of a natural rock formation. That was the main objection to Mt. Rushmore back in the 1800's. Those hills were
sacred to the (Lakota??) tribe.

Then, in an effort to make it look like Native history was even more worthy than "white man's" history, the statue of Crazy Horse was
commissioned. But that too got complaints. More natural mountain formations were being carved into. And it's said that Crazy Horse himself would have been horrified at the whole idea of being immortalized in stone. Personally, I don't blame him. I doubt George,
Tom, Teddy and Abe would have agreed to it either, frankly.

I would love to hear Kate Gosselin's history lesson on the sculptures when the kids ask.

Carrying over from the previous thread:
gimme said... I watched that video. ...
She did address the tummy tuck up front on the video because they knew that would be an issue. But she lied and said that in a tummy tuck they only remove skin. Everybody knows they tighten those muscles up to provide a girdle type effect when they do the tuck. If he didn't do the muscle reconstruction all I say is well you get what you pay for.

As my mom would say, she would lie when the truth would serve her better.

But in all fairness, I am sure she has worked very hard on toning, etc.

***********

After Kate had the surgery she couldn't lift the kids and not stand up 100% straight for 2-3 weeks which means her muscles were definitely tightened during the procedure. I had that surgery and know what it entails and what the recovery is like. Her description of the recovery was for muscle reconstruction - not just skin removal and any statement she makes otherwise is just another convenient mis-statement, outright deception, or lie.

Oh, Kate...be careful of those challenges. You never know who is going to show up at your door! I am not a hater, but I do know her, and she is just as the media and the "haters" assume that she is - and won't give you the time of day unless there's something in it for her. What you see is what you get, and millions have seen her in action.

"But friends, family and other folks get much more upset about the negative rumors than Gosselin does."

What friends? What family? What other folks? She has no friends, other than paid ones, and she's alienated her family. Who is left? The paid groundskeeper? The clerk at Target?

She doesn't care that she puts herself out there as a money hungry bitch? That says volumes about her narcissism. If she doesn't care how she comes across, why would anyone else? It's really sad when you think about it - living a life in which you are hated, and it's all because of your own doing. Not caring how other people see you is just pathetic, and a sad commentary on your life.

A word to Kate: Live so that your friends can defend you, but never have to.

On the contrary. I don't think anyone is at all surprised. Most figured that this is why she didn't make plans for her children to attend camp, or why she didn't do their annual traditional trip to BHI. She was expecting TLC to come up with some kind of filming schedule. She certainly wasn't going to do it on her own dime. Things worked out as she planned. She was tweeting her bucket list since she jumped on Twitter. In addition, there are those who expected her to film the heck out of these kids before school starts and before the new PA Child Labor laws go into effect in October.

I don't think we're surprised, so much as disappointed. I've noticed things run in waves with Kate Gosselin. There's a few months of speculation that the show is over, that they're cutting back the filming, the show is finally on it's last legs. Then suddenly she's back in the spotlight and seems to get a second wind.

It truly is a roller coaster ride. I enjoy reading the blogs and seeing where things are at in the ride, and like all rides I know it will eventually come to an end, so I'm thankful for that. But I really try not to invest a lot of emotions in Kate Gosselin or the plight of her kids anymore.

It's kind of like watching soap operas when I was in high school and college. You watch it faithfully, getting caught up in the drama etc. Then you go to college, start working and no longer have time to watch. One day, maybe your home sick or your home with a new baby and you decide you'll check in with your old soap and you realize after 10 years that the stories are still the same even if the character names have changed.

Hey how about this? Forget Twist of Kate, how about a show about how Kate has to go BACK to the real world. No mansions, no hair extensions, no tanning, no bodyguards, no nannies. And no first class! Watch Kate have to readjust to the normal lifestyle most Americans are used to and happy with. Lots of crying and whining. You could call it Poor Kate Plus 8 or something.

If TLC uses this idea I want my cut.

No mention of purse-boy or any helpers. The poster may not have thought to look for him or he could have been incognito/fading into the background like 'real' bodyguards. Some of the readers who commented on the article mentioned seeing her at the local Target where she bought 14! coffees, so we know she is surrounded by crew--oh, I mean family members on this trip:)She even posed for a picture with one fan!

I have to relate a funny thing that just happened. I have a 7 month old chihuahua puppy who often sits on my desk while I am on the computer. She has done this since I have got her at 10 weeks, so she is used to seeing my computer screen and she will look at it once in a while, when she is sitting in her bed or just milling about on my desk.

Just now she was sitting on my desk and I clicked on the link in WG's new post to take me to the huffington post article about Kate and when it loaded suddenly my puppy started backing up, growling. I was like WTF, so I looked over at her and she was staring at the screen, which was now just a HUGE PICTURE OF KATE.

She continued to stare and growl at it (with me laughing) until I clicked off the page.

The only other time she has ever reacted to anything on my screen (and she has watched me play many computer games, work on graphics, surf the web etc) is once she did the same thing to a picture of a monkey :)

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Yes I'm sure Kart would have hated Mt. Rushmore too. But not for valid reasons like some people here love it for others it's not their cup of tea.

But it's not Kate's cup of tea because it's not hot and trendy, there's no VIP treatment, no tanning and no beach. Most people at work have to do a project now and again they don't like. It's the same for Kate's job.

Just Me said...

I've been pondering the no tweeting while filming thing and have a theory.

I don't think it has to do with the grueling filming schedule.

I think it has to do with the fact that she has a captive audience in the crew.

We see how she practically flirts with the camera/camera guy when the camera is rolling so it's my guess when there are actual live people there that she perceives are either at her beck and call or fawning on her, she just eats that up. So no need to for attention/adoration from the tweeple.

When she is not filming she has to get her attention/adoration fix some other way and since she has no friends and can't let the kids off the orphanage property, twitter is the only option.

In the Shopping For Ten episode, in which Jon says that he felt like a friggin' dog, Kate said that she doesn't notice other people...when she's somewhere she doesn't see anyone around her. And yet, she wants other people to notice her, thrives on it, thus the need to be reassured that her Tweeties continue to support and love her.

If she doesn't notice other people, then why is she "challenging" the haters to meet with her and change their opinion of her? She doesn't notice others, but others are not only suppose to notice her, but if they are critical of her, they are suppose to go over to her team and sing her praises. How much more narcissistic can one get?

She doesn't notice other people, but boy, she sure does notice the negativity generated in her direction from the non-fans!

She is very clever at crafting her stories. She admitted in the infomercial that she had a tummy tuck, but omitted the part that the muscles were tightened and she had lipo. So, she wasn't lying - she just wasn't telling the whole story. The same thing happened when asked if she had a boob job. If you recall, her answer was that she got a good bra. That quite possibly was true - she did, in fact, get a good bra after she had breast implants. The way it was worded, she wasn't lying, but she wasn't up front (pun intended) about getting new boobs!

I'll have to read this HuffPost article, but I haven't had enough coffee. I thought Kate didn't care what people thought of her...Why does she care what ANYONE thinks at all? All she wants is her little bubble of tweeties, ya know, those 12 that gush over her telling her how awesome she is, & Kate is fine. Plus, let me ask, how many people actually want to meet Kate & change their perception of her? Yeah, I'm good. I'm not going to sit there & ask questions ABOUT Kate. If I have 10 minutes with Kate, I'll be asking questions that will make her curl into a ball & cry. Not very "Hippie" of me, but the truth needs to come out!

Someday it will, the kids WILL speak the truth, I'm counting on Maddy, but Cara shouldn't be discounted either. If she is refusing couch interviews as someone said, then good for her! It won't be long before she refuses filming all together, & the other kids follow suit.

Jenna/Hippie, Kate herself tweeted that Cara was refusing coach interviews after someone asked her why she never does them. It started off with Cara curled up in a ball looking depressed on the coach (there's a screen cap of that in this post http://www.realitytvkids.com/2011/05/recap-philly-fun-see-how-educational.html) and then progressed to Cara not being there at all.

I think Kate cares what people think because Kate has the maturity of a 13 year old. It's normal for a 13 year old to be obsessed about what people think of them, but not normal at all for a 26 year old. I don't know how this happened to Kate, I don't know if something bad happened to her as a child (seems to me Sylvie LaFair was trying to hash out that possibility in therapy, and it's rather telling Kate didn't want to talk about her childhood) that stunted her, who knows.

I can't imagine a mature adult ever saying something as juvenile as most hate me but when they actually meet me they change their minds!

Not to mention how does Kate know people aren't just being polite to her? That's what normal adults do, too, they are kind and polite to other people. You don't go up to people and say I used to hate you and I still hate you.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

By the way I think there really is something to someone else's suggestion that Kate is not on Twitter during filming because she's getting attention. You are on to something. I mean there are at least lunch and dinner breaks on filming I hope. She could at least tweet then.

I think it's a combination of being very busy filming, and she doesn't need the emotional fulfillment of twitter since she has cameras and crew and Steve surrounding her and building her up.

Her tweeple don't see how used they really are.

++++++++

I've often said Kate never matured emotionally past the age of 13. I find it so odd that she clings to the teenager way of talking, OMG, I am like so not doing that. Who other than teenagers think that sounds good? That alone would keep her from getting any kind of serious TV talk show kind of job, that and the absolute fact that she has no interest whatsoever in what other people are doing.

I think the infomercial route is the perfect vehicle for Kate. I can just see her fans now, surrounded by Ab Champs and vegetable slicer/dicers, cheapo closet organizers, doggie clippers and kitty litter box deodorizers, tweeting the same old, "Kate, "'your' amazing!"

I can see Kate standing on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, microphone in hand, surrounded by the products, with a group of people gathered around her, hanging on her every word. -------------------------------------------------

I do like that theory. Kate (I think I'll give "Khate" a rest for now) has really been over-stimulated with being INfamous for the past five years. She's almost always had somewhere to be or something to do related to her "job". Now that things are winding down, I think she's getting lonely and needy during those stretches of "nothing to do". Her tweeple followers help fill that void for her.

What I'm also starting to think, is Kate sees Twitter as part of her "job". When she's not filming or traveling, she's doing her duty on Twitter, hence not a single tweet on her work days. I wouldn't be surprised if TLC is paying her a per diem or something for maintaining an online presence and doing self PR/grifting. Rather than TLC paying someone on staff to maintain a Twitter for her, I'm sure Kate would have jumped up if they offered to pay her to do it herself. Or perhaps, TLC is continuing to pay for the nannies, allowing her time to promote herself and go freebie fishing in whatever way she sees fit. Twitter sounds to me like the easiest, most bare minimum way to do it. And it's worked, since I'm certain it was a sheeple who suggested Mt. Rushmore to her.

Admin,
You make a good point about Kate's maturity level, as in she really has a stunted one. We all hit a certain age where we get to the point where we really stop caring how other people perceive us. As long as WE are happy, healthy & are GOOD people, then that's all that should matter. Obviously, we don't want to be offensive, rude & jackasses, so we are kind, polite & do as we should in public & we hope to mold our children that way as well, if we have children.

In Kate's case, at 36 years old, she really should not care how people perceive her. Is it because of her show & she needs ratings? Well, then she should not have been a bitch-monster all of these years. Is it catching up? Yes. Should she have been nicer in her community? DEFINITELY. Should she have dismissed all of her family, her friends, her inner circle, just for a couple of years of success? Nope. And she did it so rudely, so meanly, like she OWNED the world. She is no Queen of Sheba. She was just a reality personality & they all end in the same heap. Maybe THAT is what's scaring her; she knows she has NOTHING left when this ends. And it is ending, soon. No real friends, no family. Nothing. She is trying to rectify her image, but it's too damn late. She should have been worried about her image when it mattered.

Does Kate buy all of those expensive toys, or are they freebies, courtesy of TLC or product placement? Even if Kate did buy the toys, it's not Kate's money buying them. She knows little to nothing of their personalities and interests. The only time she gives them any amount of attention is when they are misbehaving. And as anyone with even a menial knowledge in child psychology knows, kids will always act out in bad ways if they can't get the attention and care that they need through good behavior.

********************************
I understand what you are saying here, but I seriously doubt (can't say for sure) that Kate paid for any of those clothes or expensive toys. All those toys were either paid for by TLC, or product placement. That is why she and Jon were always seen picking up boxes at UPS and Fed Ex. It was/is a long standing joke. The clothes were definately gifted, although, I think not so much anymore. You will notice now that "Miss Tight Wad" is paying for the kid's clothes, they are mostly from Old Navy. Nothing against Old Navy, I shop there myself, but it is a far cry from Gymboree, Gap, Peace/Love/World in price. I am sure she still gets TLC to pay for their matchy matchy, make me sick, "uniforms" they wear in the episodes.

It's been said before, she does not realize, or appreciate how good she has had it, for sooooo long, with all the freebies thrown her way. I think she may be starting to feel it now with her constant complaining about everything being so expensive, but just wait until the gravy train is done. Completely stopped. It is a scary thought. I feel for those kids, but as far as Kate, I feel that she deserves every bit of anxiety that may be coming her way. She created this mess and now she will have to figure out how to live beyond TLC. Nothing lasts forever Kate!!

No body in right mind believes your foolish post here... Everyone genuine person that deals with Kate has nothing but kind words to say about her!

Sounds like a familiar voice to me.

I'll bet that newspaper regrets even mentioning a short blurb about Gosselin. On another note, There is a slim, remote, really really tiny chance that Kate can't tweet from the location she is in because of the lack of cell towers.

Some of the people in my riders group have said that on rides out west, there are so many areas where a cell phone won't work and had they not had the built in CB radio on their Ultra Classics, they would have been completely out of touch with anyone.

I'll give Kate the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I looked up her tummy tuck on You Tube and the part where he talks about tightening up her muscles and her asking for new boobs was edited out..if anyone else has the time to look maybe you can find it..I really do remember him saying how tight her new stomach would be..her muscles had separated from carrying that many children

Here is an important direct quote from Ms. Jaycee Dugard's book "A Stolen Life"...

page 53

"They look like photo albums, but they have kids from magazines cut out in different postions with penises taped on from other magazines. He looks at them and talks dirty to them...He also flips though the channels on the TV. He says he's looking for anything with a little girl with shorts on."

Well, skeezeball Garrido would only have to turn the channel to TLC for easy pickuns...

Heartbreaking.

Pixie, thanks for posting that I cannot wait to read her book, have two others to finish first.

The Jaycee Duggard story is a disturbing, sad, but important story. Not only was he doing what you said, but he would go to the park and his wife would pretend to be taping him singing on his guitar while at the same time secretly tape kids on the playground.

While you cannot always prevent some sick perv from sneaking around your kids at places like a playground, you can choose not to have your child photographed for filmed for anything public. Parents have to understand if you put your kids out there, you are risking exposing them to creeps like him. Jon was 100% reasonable when he said he worried about putting the kids out there for pedophiles. Absolutely he should be concerned about that and I don't understand one bit of the backlash. Tweeple were mad at a parent for being worried about pervs? Shouldn't we commend that parent?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

You know even assuming no one has ever had any devious intentions toward these children when they look at photos or episodes (and frighteningly, I find that hard to believe), it would still creep me out to know some stranger has my kids' photo on their fridge. Whether the gratification is sexual or not, it's creepy to take an interest in a stranger's child in that way.

But no, it doesn't creep Kate out one bit. She hands out these photos like candy. As long as you pay her 20 bucks.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Kelly, the last time Kate didn't have cell phone service she told her tweeple so. This was on a trip out west with the little girls. This time she just says she's busy and cannot check in. If it's a cell phone problem, seems to me she would specify so like she did last time.

Pixie said...

I'm glad you agree re: the importance of Jaycee's story. She specifically wrote the book so others would know what the 'Philip Garrido's' were doing/had done.

I wasn't sure if I should post that info from her book as it's very graphic, but this is what Jaycee wants. To tell others so they may learn from it. Kate, are you listening/reading/paying attention?? No? *sigh* That's ok Jaycee, I am.

Kelly said...

I don't think I will ever read the Jaycee Duggard story. Not that she doesn't deserve a voice and God Bless her for all she endured over those many years. The horror she endured is beyond comprehension. Stories like that, in detail are just pushing the envelope in my mind and may find more of the pedophiles buying that book for their insidious pleasure than normal people wanting to know about it.

Her story like the story of that poor little boy in NYC that was asking directions the other day and found himself in the clutches of a real monster are just too much to read. IMO it's just too much information that we all are better off not knowing the details.

I've seen it all in my career and still see some of those horrible things in my memory and when I am asked and begin to share details, people just don't want to know "all of it".

Kelly said...

Admin, you may be right and she may be in her element right now and doesn't need her tweeties. She did tweet that she didn't have internet service when she was up in NYC for some show she was going to be on and everyone KNEW that was b.s. I don't know anywhere in NYC where you CANT get access.

That's just typical Kate. She tells so many stories that are easily refuted, when something actually happens that is true, no one knows whether to believe it or not.

++++++++++++++++

Kelly, I am with you 100% on this. I know it happened. I don't need to go to sleep with the graphic details in my mind. Just knowing that it happened is enough. I believe Jaycee's account of the events. I don't need to live it through her. I'd feel like a voyeur, helpless and enraged to have the horror of it made quite real.

I feel the same way when I see the commercials for abused dogs and cats. I can't even look at their sad faces. As soon as I hear the theme music coming on, I change channels. I'm not sticking my neck in the sand pretending it doesn't exist. I know that it does, and I know that commercials such as this are intended to evoke feelings of pity at such abuse. I donate regularly to the local animal shelter and I have fostered animals.

In my work with social services, I have seen abuse. I just don't want to read a book and be reminded of it over and over again through personal details. It's too much like rubber-necking at an accident. Many want to turn away because they know that the scene may be gruesome, but yet they can't stop themselves from looking. It's there, but I'll be darn if I'm going to be the one to go out of my way to look at it.

I hope Jaycee finds peace after writing about her nightmare ordeal. I don't think l could read her book, it would send me into such a tailspin reading what she had to do to survive l'm not sure l could recover. She is a remarkable young lady and so is her mother. I hope her daughters will live a blessed life. And l hope Jaycee does too. GOD BLESS YOU JAYCEE forever hon.

Moose Mania. I was talking about the comments on her tweeting such dangerous information. Does anyone know if Jon is aware of them. It seems like a perfect reason to go to court for costody and a gag order to quit tweeting the childrens real time info. He is one I can't picture reading info. from her...now that he living a fairly happy life with Ellen. He may be totally clueless that her crazy fans are getting so personal and demanding, and she keeps tweeting away, ansering.

It really sickens me how "into herself" she is. I really first saw it in the 4th of July eps. when she was dragging the kids behind her and they were crying and stumbling because Kate was pulling on the rings with one finger in her ear yelling "don't mind us" and something else i don't remember. Bingo, I said, That's why she's doing the show...for attention.

So, if there is someone in his town, and next time you see him, please make sure he is aware of the dangerous tweets. Thank you

For me it's very important that stories like Jaycee's get documented in detail. Without the details it becomes just a passing note in a history book, a girl got kidnapped for 18 years and was raped by her kidnapper and had his 2 kids. In the same way I feel it's important the other terrible things be documented in detail. Although the Holocaust is an extreme example and beyond comparison, it's a good example.

It's fine if people don't want to read about bad things, but it needs to be out there for posterity. Had the Holocaust been documented as just a bunch of Jewish people were murdered, would it have nearly the same impact as it continues to? It's the personal, though often horrifying, detailed stories that keep the lesson so tangible and at the front of our minds--so it hopefully never, ever happens again.

Bringing this back around to the Gosselins, this is also why I believe so strongly that exploitation examples like Collin's constipation and Joel on the laundry room floor, be documented in detail. Without specific examples of what happened to these kids, it just becomes, "a narcissistic mother exploited her kids on their T.V. show." The impact is lost.

*******************************************

Don't be so quick to judge a book by its' cover. That was the most graphic sentence she wrote. The book is about her amazing state of mind and how she SURVIVED. I think there are many lessons to be learned from her story. Read it before you condemn it. Ms. Jaycee wants to teach us something, not glorify her abuse.

Just to confirm what we all know as fact, on page 107, Ms. Jaycee writes "Phillip started watching a lot of child care shows, too. He especially likes a gentleman on TLC..."

Kelly said...

Admin, Point well made. In as much as the details may be horrifying to many, knowing that there is a paper trail to prove that these atrocities happened can in some way prove that there are those among us that truly are monsters.

For me, personally, I've seen it. I just don't want to see it through the horror she had to endure, in her own words.

Dreamed forever of going there? I bet if they would have asked her where HER Rushmore is, she'd have no idea of the general location, let alone what state it is in! Of if they asked her who is carved on the face of the mountain, she couldn't name anyone but GW. Dreamed of going there forever? Yeah, sure she did.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't this be the perfect Twist of Kate angle. "Twist of Kate goes info."

Good point. Have you ever gone to the Holocaust Museum - either the one in NYC or the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg? I was involved in a theater group's production of Anne Frank, and I did a considerable amount of historical research and attended lectures at the Florida Museum. There's such a thing as being over-saturated, and I couldn't get through the entire museum in NYC because it was so disturbing. I don't need to know every detail. What I saw and read about was horrible enough. I also think it depends on the person, and whether reading about tragic events affects him/her to such an extent that it causes a lasting psychological effect on that person.

I watched the details of exploitation in the Gosselin Saga, and I can't watch it anymore. I've seen enough to know that it exists. I caught snippets of those poor kids lying in their own vomit on the fishing boat. It's there, it's documented, but I don't have to keep going back for more. I didn't watch the hodge podge video because I knew that Kate was her miserable self and once again made what should have been a fun experience for the kids nothing more than life under a dictatorship.

Has TLC cleaned up those offending videos? Are they still out there in their originally-aired form (cleaning out an impacted Collin, Laundryroom Gate, etc.)?

Does anyone think sometimes that Kate has fake twitter accounts and tweets herself? I just find it weird that someone tweets about Mt. Rushmore and poof she is there. Or how about she does the ab infomercial and before that news gets out people are tweeting she should do exercise videos. It just seems fishy to me.

Who is condemning it? There are some, including myself, who are saying they just choose not to read it. We have that right. I have no doubt that she her story is an inspirational testimonial of survival. God bless her. I also believe that in a way it's therapeutic for her to put her ordeal into words and this was her way of working through it, as well as educating the public to the perverts who are out there.

Did Elizabeth Smart write a book about her experience? I don't recall ever hearing about it, and she, too, suffered abuse at the hands of a madman and his woman. I know that the Smart family wrote a book, "Bringing Elizabeth Home," but as far as I know Elizabeth didn't write a book with details of the kidnapping. I remember when Nancy Grace (not my favorite person) kept pressing Elizabeth on details of what was done to her, Elizabeth told Nancy twice that she wasn't going to describe it, and Nancy backed off. Elizabeth has grown into one beautiful young woman - hers is likewise a story of faith and survival. I was listening to Ed Smart on a panel tonight. He made the point that hatred toward the abuser should be channeled into putting new laws into place to assure that our kids are safe from these horrible kidnappings.

Teresa said...

I so agree about documenting Jaycee's miraculous survival . I hear you Admin. I really do. I had night terror's after l read Sophie's Choice. My children were very young then and l read everything l could about the Holocaust. I took a class to the Holocaust Museum here in Toronto, Canada. I wanted to get the thought out of my head that it could happen again, and what would l do if l had to make that choice. Khate is extremely lucky, given the information she so willingly sells.

@carezee
I thought the same thing as you did. I too found it odd that Kate tweets her fans for trip ideas, someone tweets her back with Mt Rushmore and wala, Kate's at Mt. Rushmore. Same thing with the exercise videos.

Some time back, Kate was on the interview circuit about what shows she wanted to be on. I believe it was Leno and there was innuendo about DWTS and she sang her impromptu song, Paparazzi. Weeks later, it was announced that Kate was on DWTS.

I think your observation is dead on and the other thing that is quite telling is that with over 20,000 followers on her twitter account, there are only about 30 TOTAL that tweet her in any given day. Kate claimed she had over 50 tweets from her fans per half hour last week so I did the math.

There were the following tweets from fans not "Haters":
1 tweet in 30 minutes
5 tweets in 1 hour
16 tweets in 1.5 hours

Hardly the number Kate claims to have tweeted her. The most telling thing was out of those 22 positive tweets, so called Kate fans, 16 were from the same people.

So, with that said, I doubt the number of followers on her twitter account, suspect there are many many multiple accounts that follow her and KNOW there are several of those multiple accounts that also have either followed me and I've deleted or have messaged me with the most vile, vicious and threatening comments as well and the content and tone of those messages were in the same vein as previous ones sent to me. In other words, from the same person.

I think Elizabeth Smart and Jaycee have so much in common in terms of how they dealt with what happened to them. They are both amazingly resilient. It makes you have such faith in the human spirit and what we're capable of surviving. Elizabeth chose not to write a book, for whatever reason that wasn't right for her and that's ok. For Jaycee it probably was very cathartic. Ultimately it should be up to the victim if they want to share their story. Invariably many tend to do, probably because that's how humans often process bad experiences, they talk about it. I am sure Elizabeth has talked about it probably with a therapist and a smaller circle.

E-Town I have been to the Holocaust museum in D.C. at least half a dozen times because I lived there and whenever folks visited they wanted to go. A good high school friend is a curator there, this area of history is her passion and I'm so happy for her she nailed a job like that. I found it very moving and informative. I have also been to the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, Israel, which was also a very special experience. I've read Sophie's Choice too and loved it, I am also reading another fascinating one called Sarah's Key about Jews in France, recommend it.

Oh good grief, I got another, "Yes, Oh Yes, I do" post from a sheeple that sounded very unstable and out of touch with reality. (she insisted I was really Werney Girl....lol, what?) I guess it's somewhat reassuring the only people left who support Kate are this unstable, at the same time, it's a bit scary for those kids.

And here we've gone several days now without a tweeple trying to derail the train with nonsense and rudeness.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I don't think Kate is tweeting herself although I won't rule it out. When she is on twitter she twitters like crazy. It would be a heck of a lot of work to sign out of her account, sign in as someone else, tweet herself, then sign back in as herself. Plus Kate's so dumb she wouldn't be able to pull it off. She would start talking in the third person on her main account blowing her cover.

Also, the tweeple who wanted her to come to South Dakota mentioned Crazy Horse, and Kate then tweeted What's Crazy Horse (still baw-hahhahaing at that). I doubt Kate would tweet herself mentioning Crazy Horse only to tweet back "What's Crazy Horse?" given how much of an idiot it made her look.

just sayin said...

OOPS, sorry, the post where I said twist of kate would be good angle...I copied the first part from an earliet post. My bad. sorry

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Kelly is that accurate the number of tweets she is really getting? That seems surprisingly low for a celeb. I never look at the people tweeting her unless Kate is responding directly to someone, so I really don't have a good idea for the volume she is really getting. If so, Kate's 50 tweets she claims she gets every few hours is a gross exaggeration.

Going back to Jaycee again, I was just blown away how well this young woman is coping. I know part of it is her good therapist who was interviewed too, but also I just think she's a strong person. At one point Jaycee and her mom were sitting together and her mom was saying how upsetting it was to know how much this guy took away from Jaycee. She missed out on so much, like high school proms for one. She was tearful. But Jaycee just gazed at her with a soft smile and said it's okay mom he couldn't take away everything, he couldn't take away our love for each other.

And although it wasn't said, what I thought of is he took away the opportunity for her to carry and give birth to her first baby with a man she loves and is married to when she is mature and ready for it. But Jaycee doesn't seem to see it that way--it was obvious she absolutely adores her girls.

What a remarkable outlook. She has such an amazing sense of what really matters in life--family and your kids and love.
