I don't mind the political comments, at least posters on this blog are aware of current events! There's a lot of tv show posts I scroll by because those shows don't interest me. I did try episodes of Breaking Bad and OITNB but didn't care for them. Also watched a few minutes of Walking Dead, perhaps because it was way into series, but it was just too creepy.

She's just sloppy. Tacky. Two kids faces can't be seen in the photo, the wreaths are off center. She's like that gal who always has lipstick on their teeth and chipped nail polish. She's just not very well put together, never has been. Yet she fancies herself sort of the Martha Stewart of mommies.
A new term I saw on the internet to describe people like her I thought was really fitting and great: Country club trash.
I don't post often so I'm not sure if my opinion should be tallied but I've very much enjoyed reading poster's thoughts on the candidates in the race.
I think over time, perhaps once the field is pared down, Trump will have a hard time sustaining the popularity he now enjoys. Successful campaigns are run with a more measured temperament than I think he is capable of. This is what the public finds refreshing and entertaining about him right now, but that will wear thin once the field is narrowed (perhaps even sooner) and he's required to present solid ideas and logical solutions to issues voters care about.
That said, I love what his candidacy has done for what would likely have been another PC, don't-utter-a-statement-that's-not-backed-by-an-opinion-poll type of race. He is refreshingly different and unapologetically authentic but month after month of this and the Trump novelty will wear off, people will realize he's ill-equipped for the job and his mouth will probably get him in trouble to the point where his popularity will sink just as quickly as it rose.
I think once he goes away, most of the political discussion on this site will as well.

I really don't like how he's isolated Anna up there in some cabin. She needs to be around family and friends right now. Even if she ultimately decides not to leave him, it's unhealthy not to have the support of others right now, and it's unhealthy to shut out other opinions and ideas.
Actually I like her tradition of the first day of school yearly photos. It's a nice way to see how much they change year from year. Too bad she publishes it, though. She's such a martyr with the "prepping" comment. Sheesh. She has it pretty easy with TLC picking up the school supply tab.

Re: Anna Duggar. What family and friends? She's a pawn between both families, and if she has friends, they are in that church circle that denigrate women. I don't think Anna's family has made her a pawn. I think her parents believe what they believe. I think she has a sibling or two who are not living in outer space, are still religious, but recognize a pig when they see one.
I think she desperately needs to speak with those siblings right now. They have known her since she was a child, they love her, they love her children, and they want what's best for her. She should hear them out. Cutting them off accomplishes nothing. I don't get the sense her brother is playing games. I get the sense he loves his sister deeply and is desperate to get her out of a TOXIC situation.

What a trainwreck this family is. It's worse than I ever imagined.
Also I really have to disagree she should just be with the kids right now. The kids are like two and four and infants. They are of no help.
This is an adult problem. She needs to talk to adults about it. Family, friends, a therapist.
She should not be apart from her children at all, but she also shouldn't rely on a four year old for emotional support or to get her through something like this. That's not healthy for her OR the child.
The kids might even unduly influence her. I'm sure they love their dad, probably have no idea about any of this, and she might be influenced by a four year old saying she misses daddy or just wants to be with daddy. She could easily, having just had a baby, be emotionally manipulated by that and feel like well I can't hurt my child by leaving him.
She needs an adult, a professional, to help her understand that even if she decides to divorce him and even if that will be sad for the kids, it's probably better for the kids in the long run than staying with a pedophile and sexual deviant. It's a case of doing something painful now will avoid great pain, and even danger, in the future.

Kate is a Twit - I noticed everything that you did. LOL, great minds and all that. I'm glad that she included Collin in the picture but if he's going to public school (we don't really know this though) he probably doesn't start until either next week or the day after Labor Day.
I won't say anything about Cara coloring her hair at her age because I started putting streaks in my hair (Sun In & Lemon Go Lightly) right around the same age. We were on the beach every day but sill needed to help the sun out a bit. Tat being said, my natural color is a darker blonde so it wasn't too bad. Cara's will be a lot of work becasue in order to go from dark to light they had to strip out all of her natural color, put a new color on and then a drabber or some sort so it doesn't become brassy. Not the best choice but her choice so who cares.

Regarding the political discussions, or any others, if I'm not interested or I'm getting annoyed, I use my option to scroll instead of trying to dictate to others what they should and should not discuss. If it's a particularly boring day on the blog, I go elsewhere.

I personally think Cara's hair color is OK. At least she didn't go totally bleach-blonde like Kate. What I think is a little off about her in the picture is her smile. In the other pictures I've seen of her she is smiling broadly. Her smile in this picture looks forced and unauthentic.

This is awful news about the news reporter and cameraman murdered. I used to live in Roanoke many years ago. Lovely, friendly place. Smith Mountain Lake is in lovely country surroundings. Even the governor is on the news talking about law enforcement efforts. State police and probably every law enforcement officer available are looking for this murderer.

I did not mean to imply that Anna should be looking to her young children for emotional support, but rather since she has just had a baby, she may simply want to cocoon right now. If Josh is indeed entering rehab, then even better for her. As for her siblings, who knows what her relationship with them is, and if they are really the support system she needs. Frankly, IMO, her brother has been saying some pretty raw things about her husband to the media. How does that help her. I suspect that he, like Cousin Amy, may have a need for media attention. I just hope she gets some help, think it unlikely given who surrounds her.

Yes he's raw, he's angry, but the emotions are real. I would expect any brother to act the same. If a brother is not angry about something like this, then you're not really feeling that natural protective instinct to your sister, and that's odd. Her dad sure isn't protecting her.
Rehab is a very good thing, if only to get him out of that house and away from her. There's no way she can really think with him hovering over her. This is the best chance yet she has of making a different choice for her life, if ever there was one.

The In Touch article states that he has entered faith-based rehab, his primary issue being sex addiction. The porn star says he has dark secrets and became violent during two of their encounters.
