TLC cancels '19 Kids and Counting'

After more than a month in limbo, the network decides to officially axe the popular show and says it's committed to educating the public about sexual abuse.

"We spent the past month and a half in thoughtful consideration about what is the best way forward here. It's no secret that '19 Kids and Counting' was a really, really hit show. But we have some other great shows, both on the air and in the pipeline.
"  Marjorie Kaplan, group president of TLC, Animal Planet and Velocity networks.

Yeah, Boscov's is going to be brought to its knees over security footage-gate.
Everything Kate touche turns to shit because her minions attack anyone and anything that disagrees with their Queen.
Calling for the firing of an employee is truly despicable. Do they really want someone to lose their income and health insurance because Kate Gosselin darkened their doors for her annual back to school exploitation?
It's a knee jerk reaction to try to destroy people's lives, and their cavalier attitude shows who they really are.
And we're the mean ones? OK.

Boscov's will not take a hit. It's a pretty popular store around here. Partly because around here it's a big presence and partly because Al Boscov is very involved in the community. Next, it will not take a hit because nobody knows about this supposed scandal! Only those of us here and those on Kate's twitter even know. The complainers have never and will never spend a dollar at Boscov's because they live far away.

I truly hope some store manager is laughing his head off over these idiotic form letters. PA Dutch Mom, you could write a different letter. You actually are a real customer.

Yes, that's the header or profile at the top of this Twitter page. You can see it here: https://twitter.com/josh_an_tatiana . The account can be reported to Twitter pretty easily, directly from the actual account by clicking on what looks like a wheel and then following directions. Because the creator used the word "parody" in the title, it apparently makes it harder to get it banned. In this case, the account is pure harassment so perhaps at some point Twitter will get around to doing its job. But the damage to these two kids has already been done.

Kate has no balls and no moral compass whatsoever. If she did, she'd fire off tweets telling these people to knock it off right now because she is not going to be associated with any of this garbage they are spewing forth. I'd actually give her kudos for doing that. But, unfortunately, that's never going to happen. You'd think after that cruise fiasco she would have duct-taped the Detective's hands together and read her the riot act.

I am up large because I got a Tim Dorsey novel at the library today and I laughed all evening! It's Shark Skin Suite and stars the most fascinating and funny serial killer in literature, Serge Storms! Plus his sidekick Coleman, a wacky cast of characters, and most of the bars in Key West and the lower Keys.

--------------
Thanks for the suggestion, Joy. I'm going to read it. I think that I know most of the bars in Key West! :)

Have you read Murder On Tiki Island (set in the Florida Keys) by Christopher Pinto? You might like to try that one. He's also written Murder Behind The Closet Door and Murder Under The Boards (Atlantic City).

What the sheep have effectively done by writing that letter is to convince Boscov's to forbid Kate and TLC to ever film in their store again. She's not worth the trouble.

You just have to wonder why those sheep are so mean-spirited, bitter and nasty that they would stoop to harassing a teenager. What in their lives has made them so emotionally and intellectually stunted? If they have families, which I assume that they do, are the people in their "real" life aware what they do on the internet? If they have kids, what kind of an example does this set for them when a parent stalks, torments and bullies someone to the point of trying to get that person fired?

I don't understand it, but then again, I wasn't raised that way, and if they have issues going on in their lives and this harassment is the manifestation of of those issues, wouldn't someone at least recognize that they need professional help and assist them in seeing that they get it? Or are they just lonely people seeking attention and this is the only thing that works for them?

Now, in their adulthood, they associate with the bad guys because it's the cool thing to do, making a feeble attempt to be something that they weren't able to be when they were young.

Sometimes psychological arm-chairing can be dead-on target, and other times one can be way off base, but it's fun to give it a try.

Cooperate with what? Is it really in the best interest of the store to make a statement? I would imagine that they would just dismiss this as some idiot fans trying to stir up trouble, and the more attention called to it, the worse it could get. With people like this, it's best to just let it blow over. The store knows what it is doing and they can handle it as they see appropriate.

No, it was not. The only photo I saw they posted was an office photo that showed the security screen in the background. There were so many cameras on you couldn't possibly make out Kate on them much less anyone else. It didn't look like they were trying to show footage of the screen but just posting a photo of where they were hanging out. It's not the sheeple's problem to be concerned about how a company deals with their idiot teen employees. It's really not. Neither is it a sheeple's place to tattle. Admin, google it on Wiki. The founder was an immigrant who came to this country with less than two dollars in his pocket and his son turned it into a billion dollar enterprise. I remember several years ago when they were on the verge of bankruptcy, and the locals were holding their breath because the store had become such an important part of the Reading and Lancaster shopping communities. It's once again back on its feet and from what I hear, is turning profits and opening more stores. It has quite a history in this area.

It shouldn't be okay to simply slap "parody" on an account and make it okay when you are clearly impersonating a private person, a teenager no less, and using their first and last name. I think there's more than one insane Twitter biotch! We've all been saying for many years that it's SO apparent that these people - many who've openly spoken of their kids and grandkids - need a psych intervention. But often people with the most serious mental health issues are unable to see their need for help. If they act like this, imagine how their kids and grandkids must act, or will act. Children mimic what they see and these Tweeters won't be able to hide their timelines and blog posts from their kids, who are probably a lot smarter and will have better discovery tools than their parents.

Even if the teen or teens were being nasty, turn the other cheek. Ignore it, don't engage. Be an adult. When teens make mistakes the worst thing we can do as grown adults is get down in the mud with them and act like spoiled children too. That's not how they learn.

I was sitting on my front porch, drinking a Long Island iced tea and not quite yet tipsy. I was thinking about the events of the past few days and did some philosophical thinking. What makes someone so cruel and nasty? It seems that these sheep somehow missed the 60s and 70s era of love, peace and feeling groovy, and just went right into an age of combativeness and anything goes

I wonder if, somewhere in their past, they were bullied and now, so many years later, they are reaching out in retaliation. It doesn't matter who their victims are, gender or age. It's just a bizarre vengeance in which they get some kind of strange satisfaction hurting others in the way they were hurt. What did they do before the days of Twitter and social media to inflict their meanness and cruelty on others?

It's incredibly ironic that a few of these sheeple found each other in the same boat, banded together and went hell bent on a campaign to torment others. Who will be the flavor of the month in August? Do they flip a coin and then decide the identity and fate of their next victims?

Back to my iced tea and some wonderful crab-stuffed mushrooms!

I read that post and there was no bragging involved. The person asked the opinion of others and wasn't sure whether or not to make the call. I also noticed that she (or he) posted that there would be no follow-up, and if that person wanted to brag and get in the middle of things, I'm sure there would have been subsequent comments posted from that blogger about the result of that call.

Admin, why is this poster continuing to come after you?

There appear to be several Rodriguezes in Lebanon, Pa. - over 20 diffferent listings. The article Gee Whiz posted is dated Dec. 2008. That would make that Tatiana Rodriguez 25 now. The Tatiana involved in this overblown fiasco tweeted (before she deleted her account and before she tweeted about Kate) that her mother was going to buy her a car when she turned 21.

-------------------------------

Yes, according to the article, that girl was 18 in 2008 which makes her older than 21 now!. Good find, Sue!

Oops. Wrong Rodriguez. Not very good detective work on her part.

Administrator, Where were your cries to butt out yesterday when your poster bragged about how she was going to call the "big cheese" about this? I completely disagree with what these people have done, but your hypocrisy is glaring.

It seems that this is the same poster who has been here for quite some time, always being rude and talking down to others on the blog, and often singling out admin. Quite honestly, it's really getting old and wears thin after awhile. If they are so aggrieved, then why not just find another blog that is more to their liking? Then again, I guess perhaps the "fun" of it is to pick apart and dissect. Same old, same old.

Yes. And I didn't respond to the comment one way or another. Though in thinking about t now I see nothing wrong or hypocritical about coming to the aid of someone being bullied. The issue is it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Once it did happen I have no problem if someone feels it's the moral thing to do to try to defuse things. It's hardly the same thing as whining about a celebrity's privacy rights, asking that someone be fired and starting something up this out of control. The glaring difference is our poster was not doing it to go after those two sheeple but rather to help someone. The sheeple's purpose was not to be morally protective and help, but rather to attack and get someone fired. If our poster dealt with it by calling the sheeple's employer and getting them fired then hypocrisy makes sense. That's simple not what happened.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Hopefully Boscov will not take strict action on the kids. Dag Nab those tweeters are horrible!

Either the girl did something she shouldn't have and got called out for it or she didn't. Both sides are making a big deal out of absolutely nothing.

I agree with you what happened is really "nothing" but I imagine that young woman thinks it's a very big deal that some stranger has taken it upon themselves to personally contact their employer and demand that she be fired in no uncertain terms.

If we don't think that's a big deal, we're getting blasé. Put yourself in her shoes.

I agree with your there is snipping back and forth that's just all silliness and nonsense. Most of the time, sure. But this went way beyond that when they wrote a letter specifically requesting, very clearly, that this young woman be fired. That will never NOT be a big deal, nor should it be. They made it so. It never should have gone this far, and that can only be blamed on the sheeple that escalated it. Even some of the regular sheeple like Milo know not to support them, and that speaks volumes to how far they really took this.

I'm sure the young woman does think it's a big deal. Again, I don't in any way, shape or form condone what was done. Putting her in the middle of the Gosselin saga is not helping. This is RIDICULOUS! If the girl posted security footage, the store will take whatever action they choose based on their policy. If she didn't, then the letter will be laughed at and thrown in the trash. Anon 4 This couldn't actually come to the girl's defense, because she doesn't know for certain where the footage came from. What if it was security footage?

She's not my heroine. She sounds like a nice person that just wants to explain hey these folks do this all the time, take it with a grain of salt. I would appreciate some context if I were an employer. Or they won't, and they are free to ignore their friend if they like, but that's up to them, not you. This teen cannot easily explain that this happened all the time as she doesn't know who these people are and that they do it all the time. I see nothing wrong with that. Or stay out of it, I don't care.

I posted that poem because you said we shouldn't come to someone's aid when someone is going after them. I disagree with that, even if it's over something small and silly. Persecution always starts small.

And again, this is suddenly not so silly or small when someone is trying to get someone else fired. It escalated. I agree with you the initial situation is dumb, silly, inconsequential. That's not my issue. The issue is we're talking about someone's employment now. That's not so small, even if it's just a teen summer job.

you truly, truly feel that something immoral or illegal has happened, I understand informing the company. But to take it a step further and tell them exactly how to handle it, including that they should fire someone, is simple insane. It's not your business how they choose to handle it, and it's not your business to tell them what to do with an employee based on just some short video you saw on the internet, especially before the employer has investigated and they employee has been given an opportunity to defend themselves. Even if it happened exactly as they say, the employer may be much more comfortable with simply TALKING to the employee about it. However they want to handle it, it's none of their business or concern
-----
I completely agree with this. I owned a small business that worked in people's homes. We would occasionally get calls about employee driving, or that they smoked around the house. No one ever insisted that they be fired--they were just calling our attention to unprofessional behavior.

Either the clip was or was not security tape. If it was (and I have no idea whether it was) and I was the employer, I would fire the employee. In the current retail environment, I think that posting negative remarks about a customer--not to mention posting photos and video--would be of concern to management. Whether the employee would be fired would depend on their record of behavior, and what the motivation was. It sounded like her post came from a sense of loyalty to her co-workers, who put considerable time and effort into getting the place cleaned up, in case her royal highness deigned to grace their department. Loyalty to the team is a worthy trait, but posting the comments did show poor judgement, and does not reflect well on the company. Even if no one is hurt, it is just unprofessional. But, the 'situation' can present a teachable moment and training for the employees. Just as poor driving didn't reflect well on my company, I am quite sure that Boscov's does not want customers to be concerned that unguarded moments may be captured and publicly posted.

Just because a few crazed steeple piled on does not make the post appropriate or warranted, and does not mean that the act was not unprofessional.

I have no doubt that the haterz will have figured out that they, too, can send letters threatening to boycott if the employees are fired. And round and round they go....

Oh and I actually said it didn't so much bother me an employer was contacted if you TRULY (and not just because you hate the person or what they believe) have proof (and not just your imagination based on 5% of the story) something immoral or illegal is happening, but I said my bigger issue was in how they demanded it be handled. When I was referring to not their business, I was clear I was saying it in the context of it's not their business to tell an employer how to handle their problems. I never said it was not their business if they wanted to report a TRUE crime or misconduct. In fact, you probably should. Just like it's fine to come to the aid of someone when you truly believe they are being wronged, as is here.

I think you're reading way too much into Anon's post. Nowhere did she say the purpose of the call was to come to the girl's defense, nor did she say that she knew it was or wasn't security footage or whatever. What I got from that post is that she simply wanted to talk to her friend at the store and apprise them of what is going on, some background info on the fans that started this entire thing, and from there the store could do whatever they wanted with the information. If I were at the helm of a business enterprise like that store, I would appreciate a heads up about what is going down.

Not my cup of tea, but when you are out and about in public there's always a chance someone will take your picture. Yes. On Twitter they can vent and vent and bait and bait to their hearts' content. Then ferret out details about a name, any name, don't check to see if it really is (or logically could be) the person in question. Plaster some OTHER person's private details on TFW's twitter. Nice.

Joy, if you enjoy Key West mysteries, there's a fairly new series by Lucy Burdette that's set there. The central character is a food critic for a Key West magazine and there's a lot of local color. There are six books so far, first is "An Appetite For Murder".

I've been reading all the kerfuffle about the young Boscov employee. SMH. I have no words. Those sheeple are sick, sick, sick.

Yes, nice and naturally pretty without the fake boobs, fried extensions, hooker heels...just an attractive woman.

Blowing (#113), I think you make a great point. It's the instant
gratification of the direct engagement with people on Twitter
that gets them off. And if nothing or no one in their real lives
provides them with equal or better satisfaction, then that's
pretty sad.

==========

I wonder, though, if they are like this in their real life interactions with people, or if this vile, cruel nasty thing they have going on is only to get the attention they crave on the internet. They have seemed to have developed an intimate bond with people of their kind on Twitter, going all out in their relationships as they think the "bad boy" outspoken brash image is one way to establish power and just show those in social media that they are not to be messed with.

I'd love to write a book on the sociology/psychology of sheeple.

I would also recommend to Jon that he take things a little slower. Dating 9 months and living together 8 months. I would tell him he should date for 6 months to a year without moving in. However, his girlfriends have to bear some responsibility as well. It's easy to google him and see this is his trend. She didn't have to agree to it.

I do hope she is a good person and a stable influence.

Want to steer your kids on a path toward becoming successful grownups? Skip the self-esteem building and afterschool tutors and instead encourage them to share, cooperate, and show kindness.

I really don't see that with the 8. I see fighting (physically hitting, pushing, etc), arguing and general ill manners.

You are so right. If one misses her, they all do. If one praises her, they all fall over themselves to praise her. They act like a bunch of lemmings!

Then, if one is angry with someone and bashes that person, they suddenly become a mob. They're not just a mob, but an angry mob that will do anything at all to 'pay back' the person they've decided to attack. Once they are in attack mode, they seem to compete to see who can be the nastiest!

Watching their behavior is like watching that old movie The Ox-Bow Incident, when a mob hangs an innocent man.

Fleecing and Sherry Baby isn't it hilarious how everyday expressions become " Internet slang" like " just saying". Or when people are not familiar with common sayings from other parts of the country they tend to not make sense. When I watch house shows from back East a comment that is always used is " that's what I'm talking about". What??
What are you talking about??? Or someone (me) used the expression " I'm not consumed by Kate " which means I don't think about her every minute of the day and someone said Kate wasn't going to eat me. Now that was funny! Throw in the mix people from different parts of the country or other countries.

I find the internet very entertaining! There are people who critique others comments but at the same time they themselves are inarticulate and have equal or worse writing skills. Ahhh, social media what are you going to do. Everything changes yet stays the same.

Have a nice night!

I think this was the same company that was on Shark Tank. If not they were an identical competitor. I remember looking at their web site when they were on. I like the idea in theory actually as a very quick and easy way to go through the motions of cooking a hot meal without actually having to think. Kind of like how now you can buy pre-made pre-portioned cookie dough and you just pop them on a tray and bake. But of course it's just way too expensive. It really should be hands off for anyone but the 1 per centers. You're much better off spending a few hours every weekend meal planning and writing out your shopping list and even cutting things up and getting everything ready to go for a quick meal if you must. I'd hate to see any of her sheeple taken in by such a thing. She gets them into lots of bad ideas like this, that wantables or whatever thing was the latest.

At her age, she should have at least a week's worth of healthy, easy, go-to recipes memorized that she can make over and over, including a nice salmon and vegetable dish everyone likes. Cooking is a pain when you first get started but by 40 this sort of thing should no longer be a hardship, it should run like clockwork, sparing the need for something like Blue Ribbon.

&&&&

Laziness.

It really is targeted for young professionals and young parents, white collar, high income, city-dwelling, 10-12 hour workdays who still want to feel normal by cooking a real meal for their spouse or kids. It was never marketed to stay at home moms that I ever saw. The point is you have no time to shop, recipe plan and cook but this allows you to do all that in a quarter of the time with no thinking involved after your brain is fried from work.

That is such a sham and a shame that now the famous Love is in the Mix author has to grift for free food that you make at home. And it looks like absolute ________________.

She is stretching what money she has left as far as she possibly can. I just hope Blue Apron isn't donating that food to her to cook and brag on. The food looks like an appetizer on CHOPPED and boy would the chef that prepared that garbage would get a tongue lashing.

Like someone said. She could of went to Giant got a salmon filet 2 of them and even the fishman would of cut it up in filets for her for free. Take it home, put them in a ziplock bag, dump a bottle of Italian dressing into a bowl, squeeze some lemon and lime, cilantro, dill.

Dump into the Ziploc bag.

Let it chill in the fridge for an hour. While they chill, fix potatoes to bake and put them in the oven. Make a big bowl of salad, with all the fixings. Desert, buy some ding dongs put them on a saucer and put a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream beside it.

Then donate the difference of the meal you cooked at home from the Blue Apron meals and donate it to the food pantry.

How hard is that?

If her and deannatweeting were at her house cooking and having fun, then does this mean that the kids were with Jon?

They are directly engaging the haters in conversation, and that is what they need to sustain them...the back and forth slams, bashing. They need that audience, and on blogs such as this, even though they may read here, they don't get that direct interaction that keeps them alive"

------------------------

Yes. You're talking about the sheeple, correct? I totally agree. Those who have taken Boscov's to task, pick and choose the people they want to target (youngsters and the elderly) do so on Twitter because that's where they get the reaction and attention they think they deserve. I know it's easy to say that the non-fans should ignore them and not take the bait, but you know, sometimes that's easier said than done. When they just keep going after a non-fan, or someone like the young teen employee who was their recent target, it's difficult to stay quiet on that and not come to the defense of those who are being harassed.

Blowing, 114..."Exactly. They are being used, but they can't see that. If you consider that this is so cult-like, it really isn't all that different than Jonestown, only on a smaller scale. He didn't care for his followers either, he used them, and yet, they remained loyal until the end. I guess brainwashing is a pretty powerful drug, and even if you do "get it" in the end, by then it's often too late. The Kool-Aid has been guzzled, and there really is nothing left."

-------------------

Haven't some sheep deflected, though? It doesn't appear that there are nearly as many die-hards that were there before. The young ones who pop up, praise Kate and ask dumb questions, give it a once and done shot and then are never heard from again.

I agree, that BlueApron deal sounds like it's perfect with people who have lots of money and little desire to actually shop for and make their own food. The thing is - cooking from scratch can be quick, easy, healthy and inexpensive, and I think it's more important to learn how to cook from scratch than pay through the nose for pre-measured ingredients that you assemble like a piece of furniture.

Like Admin said, most people after a certain number of years preparing meals for their family, would have built up a repetoire of favorite go-to meals. For the past few months, I've been following a low carb eating plan. Even though it hasn't been very long, I already have my new grocery list fairly memorized, and I have about 6 go-to dinner meals that I make over and over. By making it from scratch, I know exactly what's in everything I eat. Tonight I made a simple stove top meal of sauteed zucchini and yellow squash and mushrooms, to which I added shredded cooked chicken and a simple blend of a small amount of cream cheese and Dijon mustard. Topped with some grated cheddar cheese --- yum! I used about 1/2 of the chicken, and the rest I'll use to make chicken salad for lunches. I am not sure of the actual cost per serving (for the stove top meal), but I know it's way less than $10. 1/2 rotisserie chicken - 3.50; zucchini, squash and mushrooms - maybe $3 total; 2 oz cream cheese? At most, $1. Total cost for the meal - $7.50; and it made 3 servings, so $2.50 per serving. Not bad. But then again, I really am piecing and patching lol.

I was thinking about Mrs. Malaprop today when I was listening to a television interview. The woman said that her husband has reptile dysfunction. I couldn't stop laughing and wondered if this meant that something was wrong with his rattler.

Mrs. M, if you're reading here, how is Dr. Malaprop?

That Blue apron salad doesn't look any better than the Caesar salad kits I have gotten at Walmart or grocery stores.

No, she wants to be a paid spokesperson. IMO

So, this is a comment on the Blue Apron website.

"Pretty cool side effect of @blueapron is that I feel I'm slowly learning to cook."

Blue Apron for the woman who wrote a cookbook? Even her lies don't make any sense.

Millicent, the zucchini chicken dish sounds so good.
It really makes no sense for a seasoned cook (pardon the pun) to use Blue Apron. It appears to me to be a way for people who really don't know how to shop, prep and cook meal to get started.
It's not a bad idea if you have the desire and the money to do so.

Frankly, you can Google anything for free these days, so I don't see the value, but I love to cook.
In fact, I don't get CSA deliveries because I love going to the famers markets so, so much.

Vanessa @ 110, as Fleecing said, Yolanda Saldívar was Selena's #1 fan and wormed her way to her side. She ended up shooting an killing Selena. Sometimes I wonder if Kate's wimpy flying monkey is enough to keep her nutty fans at bay. He seems more like an arm decoration than anything else.

Oh, yes yes Aunti and Fleecing, thank you. Sorry, just didn't know the murderesses's name. We've discussed this many times here for sure.

So the Captain of Inauthenticity has a new toy to play with?
Is she playing chef and good mommy again? Lazy as hell that woman.
Wants to be a charity case for a product/service that is for (like admin said) the 1 percenters? GTFO

Did TFW tweet anything else last night besides her commercial
for Blue Apron? So many fans had checked in to say hello and
that they missed her -- surely a good pal like TFW would've
asked them all about their weekends, right? Or are her
gabfests only reserved for damage control, and/or furthering
her agenda?

Maybe Kate should order a few of those meals and let the twins prepare them. They have to learn to cook from somewhere or they'll end up clueless in the kitchen just like their mother.

Last night, we grilled (on family vacation with the extended fam) 4 fillets of salmon from Costco, served it with steamed broccoli and homemade pasta salad, served 12. Not so difficult.
*******
Costco has very good seafood deals.
I also buy the heads of broccoli from Costco- huge bag, pre-washed. Makes it so easy to eat healthy.
Hmm..reminds me I have a pineapple from Costco- need to break it down and Tupperware it!

I'm guessing Kate/kids/staff will take deliveries at the gate- you'd have to in order to receive perishable food.

I hope Blue Apron is ready for the Gosselin curse. The barrage of emails, tweets, etc., pro and con. Companies must rue the day they chose to become associated with TFW. Look at Boscov's, Northern, Sears, John Deere, No Netz.

They have to drop everything and deal with the nonsense of a wannabe celebrity.

The food looks like an appetizer on CHOPPED and boy would the chef that prepared that garbage would get a tongue lashing.

More like "Worst Cooks In America". If she was going to grift, she should have taken some time to style the food so it didn't look like a pre-washed bag of Romaine and a salmon filet on top.
It's fine as a quick meal at home, but it wouldn't entice anyone to try Blue Apron.
It just looks poorly cooked and plated.

Looks like Deanna has the Blue Apron plan. They must be filming as she references in another tweet having a big lunch and making a separate dinner for the kids. Craft Services?

*******
What comes to my mind is wealthy people with a gourmet kitchen, replete with Sub Zero and Viking appliances, feeling like they are hip and healthy by cooking like this.
Again, fine, but c'mon, a piecing and patching mother of 9 doing 99.99999% of it alone?
It makes no sense other than Kate has some sort of angle, otherwise, why make your attempt at being a mommy chef a total joke?

She wants to endorse it for money or trade. Calling it now.

Just like Coupons by Kate, which appeared to be nothing more than lending her name to a website for compensation.

After I thought about It for a bit I decided that Deanna, as a single working person in NYC, probably subscribes to @blueapron. Yup, further tweets bear this out.

@deannatweeting: @Lexis2usc @Kateplusmy8 @blueapron I have the two person plan, so we made a meal for the kids and cooked this while they ate!

Also, I thought the portion looked kind of small....@deannatweeting: @MiloandJack @Kateplusmy8 We had a HUGE lunch so we actually ended up splitting one of the filets!

So once again it was TFW's creative wording to try and grift something for herself. I guess they had a HUGE lunch at the mall because TLC was paying and Deanna was there working as TFW's make up artist.

I figured it was Deanna who subscribed. She's their target market. Busy young professional, single, successful career working long, late hours, money to burn, wants to feel like they can cook like Giada on any given night without actually putting in the time and effort to do so. I can almost picture all the 20-30 something single girls on sets she is on raving about this company.

I hope she had the food delivered directly to TFW's house. Lugging that salmon all the way from NYC seems unwise. #stinky

Yep. Craft services.

You can even get the frozen individually sealed salmon portions at Costco that when cooked look (are!) a lot bigger than those pieces. And they don't look as dry. And talk about a boring salad. Looks exactly like the bagged stuff.
Why would you pay that kind of money for something so mediocre? yup, she got it in her head that they'll give it to her for free, which I bet will happen. She makes me sick

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Kate is not "petite." She's at least 5'6, maybe taller, and she's pretty hearty I guess you call it, even though she's not overweight. She's not thin boned or anything like that. She's a solid woman. There's nothing in the petite section that would fit her.

Milo sounds like a man or a lesbian when she relates a post about food to Kate's body. That's just creepy. It has nothing to do with that, why is she bringing it up AGAIN?

Vanessa said...

Oh? Is it organic??

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The salmon was, hands down, way overcooked. That's why it looks so dry. It looks like it spent a good five extra minutes in the pan than it should have.

At 40 years old and having written a cookbook, you should be able to cook a piece of salmon properly. Supposedly they give you step by step directions too.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Another thing I find strange is she's always eating something different than her kids. Invariably, that means she's not sitting down to eat with them because she's still cooking her meal.

That gets obnoxious. It's not a family meal if the kids are eating first by themselves and you're still throwing Blue Apron pre-portioned things into a pan. That defeats the whole purpose of sharing a meal together, the ability to sit down together, break bed, and talk. I think it also creates a subtle separation between you and your kids, sending some strange message that you never want what they want, or that they can't have what you have. The occasional times we feel like just making our own thing to eat, there's something about it that feels far less personal.
