The notorious Arizona eatery featured on Kitchen Nightmares is in the news again. This time because of a viral video which appears to show one of the owners, Samy Bouzaglo, chasing after a customer with a weapon. His wife Amy in turn calls the customer a "piece of sh** coward."
Samy and Amy say the patron was drunk, and that Samy had a pen in his hand, not a knife.

I surmise that something was done to alter her appearance.
If TFW were to market her good bra and the new magic de-aging makeup she'd make a fortune. Also, if Deanna is that great of a makeup artist and holds the secret to de-aging (even if it is only a miracle makeup technique) I don't know why she hasn't been snatched up by some of the really big stars. SMH that the sheeple refuse to see what's so obvious and also SMH that TFW thinks people believe her when she says she's just "one of those people who de-ages".

Another free speech case involves the question of what constitutes a threat on Facebook. The facts are pretty hairy. Anthony Elonis was convicted of making threats against his estranged wife and an FBI agent. His posts said things like, "I'm not going to rest until your body is a mess, soaked in blood and dying from all the little cuts."
Soon he moved on to suggest that he might make "a name" for himself with a school shooting. "Hell hath no fury like a crazy man in a kindergarten class. The only question is ... which one?"
At that point, a female FBI agent paid him a visit, which provoked a post in which he said that he'd had to control himself not to "slit her throat, leave her bleeding from her jugular in the arms of her partner."
At Elonis' trial, the judge instructed the jurors that to convict, they had to conclude that this was not merely exaggeration. His Facebook posts needed to be statements that a reasonable person would interpret as a serious expression of an intention to inflict bodily injury. Elonis contended that he was just mimicking rap songs — indeed, he often linked to songs with his post. He argued that he should not be convicted without actual proof that he intended to threaten, intimidate or harm.
The intent standard that Elonis argued for might make it much more difficult to win a conviction for making illegal threats. But whatever rule the justices come up with, observes University of Virginia law professor Leslie Kendrick, it will likely apply not just to Facebook and Twitter, but to all forms of communication — including people speaking face to face or publishing in the newspaper. In other words, says Kendrick, when crafting a rule, the justices will ask if the standard "is going to chill people who engage in speech that is borderline but ultimately protected."
Protected, that is, by the First Amendment guarantee of free speech. Most court experts seem to believe that Elonis may win because of the culture of today's social media. "The context of rap music these days suggests that what Elonis put out there really isn't all that unusual for what's going on on Facebook and what's going on in the popular culture," says professor William Marshall of the University of North Carolina School of Law.
I don't know the details of the case but just based on that I'd be very surprised if the Supreme Court is going to chill speech in that way.
They're going to say if someone is making specific threats to you, it is your responsibility to obtain a restraining order against them. They're not going to say nobody can say those things in general ever. The only slight caveat is this was what appears to be a private person, which makes prevailing just a little easier. I still think they won't though.
You know that article is why I never really could get into NPR. They spend half the article talking about an issue the Supreme Court was very clear they're not taking up this term, at least so far, and the other half lamenting how conservative the court has leaned recently whatever that means, without getting specific why they feel that way. Why not just stick to the facts about what the court WILL be hearing, and skip the commentary about what that reporter thinks they should hear, and broad sweeping generalizations?

I do know others who do that. I think they are nuts, perfectly good furniture in the trash. People back in that time, did not do a lot of donating. The things they threw out would make people today mad. A rip seam on a ski outfit and in the trash it went. You and I would have just sewed it back together or taken it to someone to sew. Must have been wealthy people.

I know, it is very sad. There was a 70 year old lady on last week who was more in love with her catfish than her husband who had died 3 years prior for decades. Her catfish is a man from West Africa with a thick accent and his FB picture shows a white man whose picture and identity was stolen from this catfish con artist. This catfish convinced her to ship him 4 expensive vehicles to Africa, cash money in books, and the FBI said if she did it again they would arrest her for money laundering. She gave away over 300K to the love of her life.
Her daughter was on with her. The saddest stories are the women who get conned out of their life savings by some "Nigerian Princess" type who woos them so blind that they believe every sordid, silly, implausible tale they tell.

Just catching up on all the posts from the weekend and I have to defend Ryan Lochte. As someone who is heavily involved in USA swimming, I have to say that Lochte is a great guy. He is obviously not articulate but he is much smarter than he appears. He is a very nice guy who does not have a huge ego. What you see on TV is not serious, he does not think he is 'all that'. Also, at meets and other events, he will not leave until he gives everyone autographs or pictures. He has spent hours after meets signing autographs. After the last national championships and pan pac meet, he would go up to the stands and give his medal to a child. Finally, he is heavily involved in charitable causes.
And there in is the burn. I work hard every day teaching kids that no one else wants. I go to work sick daily, I even work on Chemo days for half a day before I go to Chemo. My husband works a good job yet we are barely making it. In our late 40's and still paying of student loans. We need desperately to work on our house or it is going to continue to deteriorate plumbing and mold issues, but we just don't have the money. And fame hags like Khate get money for NOTHING. JFC that angers me.

I once got a free leather couch off craigslist. It had a tiny tear in the leather on the middle cushion, which I fixed with super glue. Other than that, it was a beautiful brown leather couch - for free! When I went to pick it up, it was in a very expensive, exclusive neighborhood in my town. (Unfortunately, that couch came to an early end when my male cat sprayed it and I was unable to get that stink out of there.)

I had to smile when I read Tucker's comment about the leitmotif. My students were reading "A Tale Of Two Cities," and we were discussing the leitmotif in both music and literature. One of the kids looked confused. She asked, "Why don't you just say theme?"
I see that Kate's been teasing again about big happenings going on in the Gosselin household. I also noticed that with the exception of Milo, not too many of them were giddy with excitement, nor even responded. Could it be that Kate's childish games are getting a bit old, even for the die-hard sheeple?
Well, ladies, I'm happy to see that others, besides me, are finding Kate to be mind-numbingly boring these days. That's a good thing, don't you think? The more people become bored with her, the less easy it is for her to exploit the kids. She whines about "haters", but it is the love/hate battle that has kept her going all this time. Public apathy, for someone in her situation, is far more dangerous. She needs people to pay attention to her, read/comment on articles about her, watch her, or she's sunk. She has to realize that there aren't many articles about her, and the articles that do show up aren't getting the number of comments they used to even a few months ago. Talk shows? It's been months. Magazines? Not lately. All she has left is TLC, and the public doesn't react to her, then they will walk away, just like they did before.

What is interesting in reality TV land. Andy Cohen interviewed convicted felons Theresa Guidice and her husband last night, I didn't stay up to watch, maybe El catch it online.
Dancing With The Stars continues to entertain with Betsy Johnson age 72 and Tommy Chong age 76 both dancing better than TFMJG ever did. Plus Sadie Robinson the 17 yo Duck Dynasty family member is really impressing everyone! She is partnered with Mark Ballas and she has a lot of natural talent.
The Amazing Race has the girl whose left arm was bitten off by a shark and her new husband as contestants, they are doing great! Plus a husband wife dentist team with the whitest teeth I have ever seen!
Survivor continues to be fun and fresh after so many years. The contestants they choose make it interesting.
I like this blog and read it everyday, but yes I am over Kate Gosselin too and I hope the viewers will also be over her. It's the only way this no-talent nutjob will disappear. As far as the kids go, it's no use wondering if they are happy or normal. What's the point any longer? What's done is done. I think we all can guess how this will turn out and it's been a sad story. I think we are all fatigued from the Gosselin saga.
I am very selective about what I watch these days because it's so easy to DVR, Netflix HBO, etc so I hope that many people have turned away from these trash reality shows and Kate Gosselin will be of little interest to current viewers. I do not think it is my imagination that there are more and more quality scripted shows these days. Yep, I just don't care about Kate or Jon anymore.

To add insult to injury, they are going to receive quite a bit of money filming the next four months before Teresa heads off to the big house. Supposedly they are going to focus on the preparations they will be making for their children to be kept by "just one parent" while the other is in jail. We all know in the background Bravo will be paying for their own not-a-nanny and other help. When in doubt, pimp out the kids and milk the situation for all it's worth.
Is it any wonder why people aspire to be reality TV personalities? Even a mediocre person can get more money in a week than most families make in an entire year.

I don't know if convicted felons can profit from their crimes, plus, they owe about a half million dollars, which will get repaid back one way or the other.
Whatever they make, for the foreseeable future, will go to pay back Uncle Sam and whomever else they ripped off.
Before Joe and Theresa began their crime spree, they were living in a mediocre home, living mediocre lives.
There's no way back to the lifestyle they stole to live.
Theresa, with the halo-effect of having 4 kids, may revive her product endorsements and continue writing cook books.

When it comes to watching tv, I am so thankful for streaming video and so many recommendations that I got through this site.
I have enjoyed so many shows from near and far. UK and Scandinavian tv are wonderful.
Netflix and Amazon are revolutionizing scripted tv with their shows and the amazing actors who play the characters.
I understand reality tv is "guilty pleasure"-watching for many, but I don't get the unreal celebrity status these untalented, mostly moronic nobodies are shot to in a flash.
I hope the best for the G kids, but can't really bring myself to care much about them anymore, because I'm spent.

That is exactly how I feel. I maintain my interest in what happens to the kids but I too doubt anything will change for them. I also feel a few of them may end up just like Kate. I've been away visiting relatives, and just now caught up on the comments. I'm beginning to feel the same as others do about the Gosselins. I still worry about the children, but what can we do? Kate will just keep on getting rewarded for being a lousy mother and the only thing we can do is hope that the kids will turn out alright despite that.

Joy---I enjoyed watching Tony and Betsey on DWTS. Tony looked like he loved dancing with Betsey and he really seemed to enjoy himself. She wasn't the greatest, but she wasn't bad like Kate. I was sorry to see them get eliminated. Last night's show actually had me tearing up at times. Lea's tribute to her father was beautiful, as was Bethany's poignant dance about standing up to bullies. She showed how she got through it and it wasn't by latching on to BV. She did it all on her own.
BTW, my grandson is 10, the same age as the tups. On my last night there, he cooked dinner for the 6 of us with very little help. It was a pasta and vegetable dish, which included broccoli, artichokes, olives, tomatoes. He first cooked the pasta, and then proceeded to stir fry the pasta, vegetables, etc. together. After we all sat down to dinner, he exclaimed "Dad! I forgot the onions!!" But we all told him it was okay, and I have to admit it was delicious!
I just wanted to add--my 3 yr. old granddaughter also helped me make tacos one day when I was there. She shredded the lettuce, and filled a bowl with shredded cheddar cheese. She and I also made pudding for dessert, with her stirring the mix until it was just right. She was so proud of herself.
Kids like to help adults do "adult" things. That's how they learn and also boost their self-esteem. Unfortunately, Kate doesn't have the kids "help", she just makes it their "job".
It's when you do things together that you really get a sense of value in helping with family things.
So what we are thinking here is, BV saw all the kate haters on RWA, either kate got a hold of BV or BV got a hold of her and he said I can take them down and BV asked for money to do it for expenses. kate said, yeah, go ahead and I'll cut you a check. Then when BV did it, I remember kate on twitter calling BV her hero!

ROL, makes up a lot of their articles, from other articles, hearsay, old articles etc. just to get people attention. I knew a few people who posted there and were never contacted by Bully. The only ones I heard of that were contacted by bully were the ones who posted on Kate twitter. I also heard that Lisa was getting ready to close the site, cause she had lost interest in the whole Kate saga, and was moving on. You can believe what you want. Remember Kates lackeys will do almost any thing for Kate, even put out all kinds of lies and crap. Kate does not care, it keeps her name out there.
The problem in this situation is that Kate is using the kids to make money to support her lifestyle, but we all know the kids won't see much of the money when they're adults. Even if she is putting a percentage into a trust there won't be much left because she's allowed to pull from the trust to pay for their fancy private school.
There will probably be just about enough for them to go to college, but it's likely not all of them will want to. Even with a college degree it's highly unlikely any of them will make enough to live the way they have growing up. They're going to have a really hard time adjusting to the real world once they're not under Kate's rule and they're all going to have major problems. Then Kate will be crying on talk shows about how she doesn't get it, she gave her kids everything on a golden platter and she worked so hard to secure their futures blah blah blah...she'll still be making money off of them even as they self destruct.
Kate just tweeted to basically remind everyone about her huge home project AND that tomorrow is the twins' birthday.

Yes I think there are just way too many other reality or d lister scandals kate will never be able to compete. And it's all about the scandals now. There's no more room left for normal people. Her glory days were indeed the divorce. She will never be able to top that again. It's over. The only sad part about it is she is the only one in the room who doesn't know.

I have twins in my life I affectionately call twinsies, but I've known them ten years and love them like my own. What don't these people understand? The children are not your friends or family.

I thought Milo once hinted that she ran some sort I'd mail-order business from her home. Maybe I'm thinking of another sheep. They all blend together in my mind after a while.
Who remembers when J & K were presented with a framed photo
of the tups when they were tiny, and TFW started sobbing. Poor
M was heard in the background saying something like, "We're not
even in that picture!" That was one of the first "hmm" moments
for me. First of all, it seemed way over the top for her to be
bawling over this picture. The kids were about 3 at the time -
not 13. Why so emotional to see a picture of them as babies?
But it also made it seem clear that the sextuplets were the
"franchise."

I thought she got emotional because it was taken in front of their first house and she said how much they loved that house. That was my impression and memory of it anyway.
I used to watch GH but after Grant faked that tug on his coat collar I lost interest.

Sue, that's the way I was remembering it, too. Then, like you, I wondered if I were confusing one sheep with another. But since we both have the same memory, maybe there's something to it. I do seem to recall Iwana had an ebay business and thought maybe I was thinking of him.
