Jon on E! news: 'She's trying to win [the kids'] favoritism by making me look like a bad person'

In an interview with E!'s Alicia Quarles Tuesday and Wednesday, Jon says he wants full custody of all eight children until Kate submits to a psychiatric evaluation. He says Kate controls the children and "instills fear" in them. Jon also seems to be implying that he thinks last month's People interview with the twins, in which the girls spoke negatively about his dating history, was actually Kate's statements "edited" to make it look like the twins said them. Check local listings.

RE vitamin D:

There are two forms, D2 and D3. Vitamin D2 is also known as "ergocalciferol," and vitamin D3 is also known as "cholecalciferol."
If you're taking vitamin D, you should take D3. Not a problem for Canadians - all vitamin D sold in Canada is D3, but I believe both are available in the US.

Here's a reference to an article about D2 and D3:
http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/589256_4

I read an excellent article in the Globe and Mail a year or so ago from a vitamin D expert. According to them, it's hard to actually overdose on D unless you're chugging a whole bottle or taking a massive number of pills every day.

The official recommendation in Canada is 1000 iu a day during the fall, winter, and early spring. My doctor said that's not enough and told me to take 2000 iu daily. Mind you, we are quite far north. The sun, if it consents to shine at all, barely clears the trees these days.

One interesting thing about D is that it accumulates in the body (or not). So taking 1000 iu daily or taking 7000 iu once a week are equivalent. In seniors home, they give the liquid form once a week. So if you're taking pills and miss a day or two, just scoop up all the missed pills and take them together.

Did Kate get paid for this too? Wouldn't her "free" dental from Jon's dad's old business be enough?

Perfect Smiles ‏@OrthodontistNY
Take a look at Jan.’s cover of @PeopleMag, @KatePlusMy8 twins, Mady & Cara, are featured with their beautiful braces: http://bit.ly/1a8wzif

I don't think TFW has anything to do with this orthodontist. I think it's random that she or someone on her staff saw the twins had braces and she thought it might catch some attention to mention a 'celeb'. She's tweeted about Faith Hill and others in magazines and I don't think it means anything other than she's promoting braces and the 'perfect smile'.

88888888888888888888888

Couple of things:
@OrthodontistNY I could be wrong but is this orthodontist in NY and not in PA, hence, not their dentist?

If she's not getting paid, will she be pissed that someone is using her kids/her name with permission? Will she sue?

I know I have heard this before, (and I do believe that Kate having control of that trust $ is a huge source of her motivation in alienating Jon from the kids), but I did not know that the documents were made available. Any idea where I can view them?

If you google PA DOL and the Gosselin's 2010 you'll find a lot of articles referring to a 5 page letter sent to Discovery about the case. IDK if the actual letter was ever available online or not but perhaps someone else has better info than I.

I googled: 2010 PA Department of Labor Gosselin children trust

The first link was pretty comprehensive but didn't have the actual DOL letter.

Please know that it is one thing to have a dairy farmer come over and check on livestock such as cows and horses, but I would be mortified if I asked a farmer to come over to check on chickens when it is so easy to just put out a lot of feed and water for a few days and they will be just fine.

Another great interview. Here are some quick highlights that I remember (no DVR) please forgive me in advance for it's shabbiness- all this shoveling fatigue just hit me all at once and my brain is fried.

Not much Kate bashing (if any?), on the contrary he praised her quite a bit. He said she was a hard worker (his context implied he meant ambition), good with $, and pretty blonde.

He said he was in love with her when they got married. He was very young and she was an older pretty blonde with drive.

They made a reference to her change in appearance over the years and asked him if he thought she was attractive now. He said no and that it doesn't matter what she looks like on the outside anyway, because he knows what's on the inside ( and it isn't good).

They brought up woman he has dated in the past and asked why they don't like him (referenced Kate Major), after the relationships were over. He said after his divorce he made mistakes and had poor judgement, but he has learned and grown a lot since the and thinks they should let bygones be bygones and move on. He also joked (and implied that he was used by these woman for fame) and said I was newly divorced with 8 kids, why would they want to date me?

When asked about leasing the 5k/per month NYC apt. He responded that after the divorce he regressed in maturity and began acting like he was still 22 again (emotionally) and made bad financial mistakes (and other decisions) on impulse.

When confronted about the hypocrisy of complaining about Kate's latest media rounds, while also being interviewed and in the media - Jon said Kate's Today Show with kids brought it on and he needed to respond (that enough was enough), she brought the kids into it and it must be stopped, and lastly that (unlike Kate begging for one) he is actually on a TV show and is required to promote it.

Like like yesterday, the reporters discussed the interview with each other and they agreed that both parents need to work this out for the kids sake and keep it out of the media and private. Then they all emphatically declared that they're not taking any sides while simultaneously gushing how honest, warm, open, and funny he was.

Bird owners: is it common for birds to be out of their cages and sitting on someone's shoulder or hand for long periods of time or is TFW exaggerating about the bird always being somewhere other than his cage?

-------------------------

It depends on the bird. Some of mine like the security of their cages and really don't like to be out for any extended period of time. It also depends on the type of facility you have. If you have a "bird room" with multiple cages, it's not uncommon for the birds to be out all day and only in their cages at night. You do have to be there with them because sometimes bird fights ensue. Not all birds get along like one big happy family.

I had a Greenwing who had his own elaborate out-of-cage perch and exercise gym, and he loved being out for the afternoon. but when he was ready for bed, he'd let us know that he wanted back in his cage. He'd say, "TIME FOR BED." The birds, however, should never be left unattended, and I would certainly hope that Kate doesn't let the bird outside of the cage alone.

Kate still doesn't understand that birds should not sit on shoulders or heads. Or, maybe she is aware of it and just doesn't care and posting photos of the birds riding on shoulders is giving the finger to those who have cautioned her against it. I just don't have good feelings about this bird.

Oh I agree. They many times carry it way too far, and I don't understand that THEY don't understand that what they are doing when they attack like this is to make Kate look like a victim. In their zeal to denounce Kate for everything she does, they are actually throwing sympathy her way. It totally defeats whatever they are trying to accomplish. You're welcome, Carole. I know I didn't really answer your question because I don't know what Kate does with her bird. I do know that all birds need rest and quiet time and too much attention can cause stress and aggression.

I have scars from abused and neglected birds who were fearful and wouldn't trust people. Working with them is not easy. It does look, however, from her pictures, that her bird is not a plucker (so far) and that he has adjusted to their household. My fear is over-stimulation and letting the bird outside the cage unattended. I don't think Kate knows the needs of parrots, nor is she willing to take advice from anyone.

There are different versions. I think it's like meatballs, meatloaf, sauce/gravy; each family has their own little twist, but this 'super secret family recipe" of Deanna's looks like a nice version.
That being said, this whole "secret family recipe" is bullshit. Wedding Soup is nothing new or unique and I highly doubt Deanna's recipe would have anything unusual or surprising in it.
Kate's teasing about the soup being a secret, that of course, she IS privy to, is just so juvenile, but par for the course for her arrested development.

It's even more popular in Pittsburgh.
I also know it as Holiday soup, as it was served at Christmas. Although it is ubiquitously served at NE U.S. wedding receptions, the name wedding soup actually comes from how well the ingredients wed together.

Carole: thanks for the info and the links. Great find!

The soup: The Italian Nonna's (grandmothers) I know would roll over in their graves if they saw that - and they're not even dead yet. Yup, no doubt there may even be several on the way to the cemetery now in mere protest! Two meatballs! That's it? Seriously? And don't even get me started on the escarole or the fat scum floating on top that wasn't skimmed. She should either take a cooking class or learn how to photoshop. Preferably both!

Speaking of Italian- I live in an area where talking with your hands is as necessary as oxygen, and you can render somebody mute by simply tying their hands together. So my level of tolerance for this trait of Kate's is pretty high, but the way she hyper extends and flexes her wrists and hands puzzles me. She even does it when she isn't speaking, and she also flexes her elbows and hangs her hands in front of her (just below her chest) like a T-Rex dinosaur. I've never seen another human do this, but it's common to see her do some variation of these postures. Any idea why? Could it be part of her mental illness or a tic of some kind unique to her?
Coincidence? Metaphor? Both? Hmmm... You decide

I think it was a great interview overall. And I do think he needed to come public because Kate has been so public. Especially since Kate dragged his kids on tv for the sole purpose of bashing him on Today.

But with that said, I agree with the interviewer and Bill Ranic's (co-host)
comments. Both need to stop going to the media with all of this family stuff. I can understand why Jon did this interview but I hope he does no more interviews. The kids are being pulled in all directions and will be so confused and embarrassed when they see all these interviews.

Jon will be pushing his good luck if he continues on this path of talking to the media. The media now seems to like him much better now, so stop while you are ahead Jon.

Anyway ... before Christmas I had to tell my BF that one of the chickens that he likes to see running around here has been missing for about a month and perhaps might have been killed by a predator, but then 2 days after the holiday I see her sitting in a pile of leaves and then I knew why she had been AWOL (she had a nest somewhere and has been sitting on eggs for 21 days or so).

When I started to feed the flock she got up immediately so I called my BF and said, "hey the black hen showed up today and she outdid Kate Gosselin by one!!!!"

"Are you telling me she showed up with 7 baby chicks??"

"Yep."

I don't think Colin is as concerned about the chickens as he might be about Shoka. He knows Kate won't treat Shoka well. I don't know how often she gets new chicks and ships the others off to be killed. I don't know what would happen to the chicks without the kids. Kate has them so she can save on taxes by being a farm property (don't know the legal term). If she wants the tax savings but doesn't have kids then what? I don't know if the savings are enough to offset hiring someone.

I find it kind of ironic that of all the nasty things Malificent has done, it's a stupid little contest for a book that's already in the 99 cent bins that sets a sheeple off. Then I thought, I think the only way some of them "get it" is if Kate personally hurts them. They don't get it when she hurts her children, or her children's father, or family, friends, or other fans. It only really hits home for them when she hurts them directly, that it all makes sense. If that's what it takes then so be it.

Ha ha! Yes! That was annoying to me from the very beginning of the show. It IS weird! And more pronounced now with her 90's talons.

Agree about all the Nonnas absolute disgust with that soup. Married a first generation Italian and they just call it "brodo" and it's traditionally served at Christmas and Easter orany other special occasions in their family. It takes all day to make the broth (have to use an "old" hen! not a chicken and not a "young" hen) and the meatballs take forever because they have to be very very tiny. Nonna still makes it with her severe arthritis and she's pays for days afterwards.
She can make whatever she wants, but to post it like it's a masterpiece is what she just does not get!

Second: ” i'm very disappointed in your article. To have two teens speak badly about their father and their six siblings and then write a cover story about it lacks boundaries and morals. No child should talk about their parents divorce to the public.”
Third: ” you may love or loathe Kate Gosselin, but I must say c&m have blossomed into beautiful young girls who are both bright and articulate. I hope all the fame and attention will not have a negative impact on their future.”
they also have letters on Demi Moore 2, kesha 2, James Avery 1 , Rita Moreno 1, and photo and follow up on 81 year old man who builds doll houses for under privileged children.

For the Super Bowl party, the day before she could of went to Wendys and bought enough chili to feed everybody, put it in the refrigerator and could of put in her crockpot on low all day. Then have cheese, sour cream, onions, whatever you like to put on it.

Remember when TCFW either put or was attempting to put Steve's name on the kid's trust accounts? WTHeck? Her employee? Her bodyguard? Jon stopped it. Didn't he have to go to court to stop his name from being on it?

I know that a judge ordered TCFW NOT to lock the kids bedrooms at night because of fire hazards and NOT to send stale food in their lunchboxes to school to eat.

What did she do lock their doors and carry around the key? I hope she didn't.

I read that the View ladies opposed to putting kids on a reality tv show. Well didn't they just had the girls on their show? They were enabling Kate to just that by allowing the girls to be on tv. They're hypecrites if they say one thing but do the opposite of it. They should have declined the proposal to have them on their show if they didn't support using children for ratings in the first place.

*******
Yes, I notice it a lot. She's always done it.
Prior to Barbie Kate, when Kate was Hausfrau Kate, she did the T-Rex arms all the time (ps... freaking great visual, spot on!).
Now, she gesticulates with those omnipresent French tips, flicking her fingers in a really gratuitous fashion, like "look at my nails!!!!".
Anyhoo, I've also thought the very odd, extreme angle that her forearm and wrist assume seemed Marfan-ish to me. The hyper-flexible joints are just one sign, so not diagnosing here.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

OMG....privacy with Steve? He was glad to serve her as long as the money was there. I am beginning to think the only person that really loved Kate was Jon, and she blew that with lies and abuse.

And what kind of women locks he kids in rooms, again IMO, that house is like Lord of the Flies.

From wiki:
The book portrays their descent into savagery; left to themselves in a paradisiacal country, far from modern civilisation, the well-educated children regress to a primitive state.

At an allegorical level, the central theme is the conflicting human impulses toward civilization—living by rules, peacefully and in harmony—and toward the will to power. Themes include the tension between groupthink and individuality, between rational and emotional reactions, and between morality and immorality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kate can't be bothered to parent. How much quality time does she spend with each child individually?? Then she buys a bird that will take even more of her focus. Octomom the second, plastic surgery and all.

Poor bird, I wonder how many times he has flown into windows attempting to escape. And Shoka long forgotten.

It seems that sheep is REALLY upset Kate isn't getting around to the not-a-contest. I find it kind of ironic that of all the nasty things Malificent has done, it's a stupid little contest for a book that's already in the 99 cent bins that sets a sheeple off.

====

"Malificent" lol.

She's sure good at shooting herself in the foot. She should be more careful, she doesn't have that many fans left.

I think Kate was on a high phase when she started that contest. She had just baked all those sticky buns to give away. Someone probably told her it was a very nice/kind act and because she's a narcissist, it went straight to her bloated egotistical head. Then without any further thought she ran this random-acts-of-kindness competition.

When she comes down off her manic swings she probably regrets doing these things when she realizes it's too much work. Then she tries to ignore it hoping it will go away or she pretends it didn't happen in the first place. It's like she has two personalities competing with each other and she can't control either one of them.

Admin., I think along with many others here think it is so important for Jon to have a written transcript or clips from ALL the tv shows and People magazine articles that Kate has bashed Jon since their separation to show the judge. That is four years of research to go over.

Could you please, if you agree, to e-mail Jon and please tell him how important this is. It will take him some time to gather all of this. Perhaps if he needs help, some of us could help with this. But the judge must know about each and every interview Kate has given that shows her speaking badly about their father. Also, Jon needs to find the tweets about being gone one week and home the next week and that it works best for her family that way. Also how Jon broke the family and she put it back together. Those speaks volumes.

Also, he needs to gather all this together and keep it for his children when they grow older and question him. I think it is very important for the kids that when they are older he can simply show them a tape of all her tv clips, tweets, magazines articles where she speaks badly about him.

++++++++++++++++

I wondered about that, too. It came up once on Twitter and some just ran with it, but I never heard that it was confirmed. Moreover, it was never a "fact" that she sent sandwiches to school that were a week old.

If court docs are sealed and there is no access to what CPS ordered, then where did this come from? A few have stated this as fact. Maybe it happened...,,maybe it didn't, but why put it out there without knowing if it were true?

I thought it was like the "Kate grew up in a trailer park" rumor after the bio show flashed pictures of a trailer and never bothered to check its facts. That rumor took quite a long time to die down.

I'm a bit slow this morning. There is no key to bedroom doors in new houses. They lock from the inside with a button. In order to lock someone in, you'd have to turn the lock around so you can push the button in from the outside, I can't imagine her doing this...it's too complicated. She'd have to hire someone to do this, and no contractor would be willing to do it because it's against code.

But if she were determined to have it done, I'm sure she could have found a handyman to do it. I've never seen any proof that a judge ordered her not to lock the kids in the room, or not to send old sandwiches to school. Was there anything in Robert's book about it? I am sure she saw the fan's tweets about how disappointed she was in Kate about this. But to blame the kids for being home a few days from school when she had 7 weeks or so to judge this is ridiculous and insulting. Again, this would really make me angrier instead of soothing hurt feelings. She doesn't give a flip about her fans. She uses them to make herself feel warm and fuzzy and that is it. .

Who owns the copyright does not necessarily coincide with who is listed as author. If you look at the copyright page (you can view it on Amazon), Kate and Beth hold the copyright for the book. As far as using copyrighted material without permission, Google "fair use." But the book and journal are two separate entities.

Can you believe I am STILL reading the stack of #BeKindGetSigned (copy of #LoveIsInTheMix ) submissions? Your kindness is making us smile! 👍

I doubt she received many entries, and is just taking her time to make it appear that there was an overwhelming amount of entries. Then it's going to be that it's been so so hard to decided on the winners because they were all amazing!!

Or as others have said, she was hoping that people would have forgotten about it by now.

If she is going to be the one paying postage to send out the books, Miss Super Saver should have decided the winners before Jan. 26, when postal rates increased.

Her contest, not-a-contest, now-a contest, just shows that she doesn't give a damn about her tweetie friends. She can find time to tweet and take pictures for her tweeties when her kids are home, but she can't find time to read their entries, that they put in time and effort to send to her.

The tweetie, Patricia Chow,(who Kate follows) asked "What happened to her integrity?"

Perhaps she and others are realizing that Kate never had any integrity in the first place.

... I don't know how often she gets new chicks and ships the others off to be killed. Kate has them so she can save on taxes by being a farm property ... I don't know if the savings are enough to offset hiring someone.

* * * * *

The only tax advantage I see in regards to chickens is when I buy their feed - for any livestock (cows, pigs, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, etc.) that is used for any kind of food purposes (egg, dairy or meat) I do not pay tax on their feed.

So if I buy 2 bales of hay - 1 bale for a cow & 1 bale for a horse - I only have to pay tax on the bale for the horse because I will not be eating it in the future.

Veterinary bills are a tax write off and it makes sense for the larger livestock, but would you pay a $50 vet bill on a $10 chicken?

Let's say Kate has 20 hens. During the summer she is probably getting 15 eggs/day (not all hens lay an egg a day). There are 9 people and if they gather 15 eggs every day the hens are producing what the family needs for their meals. I estimate chicken feed costs for 20 hens to be $60/month.

As for selling the birds for meat or eating them for dinner, I don't know that Kate is doing this as a hen can lay eggs for a few years. Why sell an egg producing hen and replace it with a baby chick who won't start laying for 6 months? Not cost effective if you have to buy eggs in a store while you are waiting for your new hens to start laying.

If Kate has a rooster on the property she has fertilized eggs (hens will lay eggs even if there is no rooster) and if Kate allows her hens to "go broody" (they sit on a nest of eggs for 21 days and then will not lay any eggs for at least a month after that) then she will be able to increase her flock number. However you have to assume that 50% of the chicks will grow up to be roosters and one needs only so many roosters (won't know the sex of the chicks for at least 4 months).

Granted Kate may eat the roosters but if she does not "process" her chickens at her home - if she is lucky to find someone who will "process" them at $3/chicken - but again she has to figure out if it is cost effective. I sell my roosters for $5 on craigslist - I don't care if they will be eaten or kept as a pet just as long as they are outta here.

BTW there is a difference in taste when it comes to eggs being fertilized or not, as well as a deeper yellow color. So the next time you are out in the country or at a farmers market, buy a dozen farm fresh eggs for $3.00 (ask if they are fertilized and free range) and taste the difference for yourself.

I have a friend who does not like all the hormones that go into the chickens you buy at the grocery store. There are chickens that are used exclusively for meat - they grow up fast in just a few months and their legs cannot support their weight - and because her entire family "processes" these chickens it is cost effective for them to raise their own meat. As for the chickens who do not fit in their freezer, they sell these organic chickens at a farmers market for $20 each and this is the money they use to buy replacement baby chicks at $3 each and cover the feed costs.

Anyway ... for it to be worthwhile for Kate to file tax Form F, she would have to show a profit at some point during her first 5 years. If she does not then it is declared to be a hobby by the IRS, and by the time she writes off her feed bills and claims income (if any) from the sale of eggs or chickens ... IMO the paperwork is just a hassle especially if you are talking chickens where it is hard to show a profit.

FYI when I had just one cow I bred every year and sold her calf from the previous year for $750. As you can see it was easy to show a profit for a tax write off with just one cow versus 20 chickens. Again it makes sense to me that Kate is only using her chickens for their eggs, and with so many mouths to feed I doubt she is selling any "extra" eggs.

I think most normal, everyday experiences are "too much work" for WOS. Whatever the underlying cause(s), she seems unable to handle even simple tasks without making a big production. She is really unsuited to having even one child, much less 8.

How hard would it be to take 15 minutes and read some basic guidelines and regulations regarding holding a contest? If you start reading the rules and decide you won't be able to follow all of them, then you don't have the contest. But WOS never thinks first and acts later. It's always the other way around. Because taking a little time to learn the proper way to do something is "too much work."

Just watched a short clip of the Jon interview. I think I'm getting the picture now. There seems to be a whole lot of behind the scenes fighting about the kids being allowed on TV. Jon is dead against it and has taken her to court for it and won. Kate IMO is now trying to get back on television with Mady and Cara by alienating them from Jon and probably having them choose to live with only her (and by choosing, I mean by Kate convincing them that they have a terrible father). Is this a possibility? If the girlsl chose to only live with Kate, would Jon have any more control over their being on TV?

I was just reading our local news website (watching for the next snow storm) and I saw that they are promoting a Valentine's Day contest. Just for the heck of it, I clicked on the contest rules. This is the way any internet contest needs to be advertised. Did Kate ever check into any of this before she launched into this contest, then not-a-contest, now contest again?

(Bottom: Contest rules).

"Not complicated at all. I've done it before when I needed to find a room to hide Christmas gifts. (a part of our basement had a door). The kids were getting way too good at finding them!"

Wait a minute. I am really slow today. You turned the locks around and locked the gifts in the room? If you put the lock on the outside of the door (turned it around (that meant that you could get into the room but the gifts couldn't get out!! The locking mechanism (door knob) needs to be taken off the door and turned around. That's what I think Kate is most likely incapable of doing,,,at least by herself.

The only tax advantage I see in regards to chickens is when I buy their feed - for any livestock (cows, pigs, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, etc.) that is used for any kind of food purposes (egg, dairy or meat) I do not pay tax on their feed.

It's zoned as farmette, and in order to quality for a tax credit (real estate), then she would need to show that some type of "farming" or the raising of livestock is being done on the property.

* * * * *

Correct. I just don't see Kate making a profit with just chickens.

Confession ~ I have no clue how much a carton of 18 eggs is at a grocery store these days because when I want eggs I just walk outside to the chicken coop. We have 20 hens, 4 roosters, and since there are just two of us living here, we have way too many eggs as it is so I allow my friends to bring their own egg cartons and fill it up since we can't possibly eat all the eggs.

For the record we have 20 chickens because we like the overall country feel it brings to the property, not because we like to eat eggs. Also I am thinking about buying more chickens which lay different colored eggs -- one breed lays eggs that are so dark brown they look like chocolate, and even though I have chickens that lay green eggs, I want some blue egg layers too, as well as white egg layers. IMO there is nothing like a carton of farm fresh eggs in a variety of colors LOL.

Anyway ... after my last post I started to think that Kate needs 18 eggs a day and if a carton of 18 is $2.50 it would cost her $75 for a 30 day egg supply at the grocery store.

I estimated that she is paying $60 for feed and if I am correct she is saving $15/month. Now saving $15 each month is nothing to sneeze at as long as the kids do all the work, right?

Now if I was Kate and wanted to make money with my property but I did not want to hassle with any livestock, what I would do is to lease out the land to a local farmer so he could grow his own feed for his livestock. The farmer would be responsible for all the labor involved which would include the cuttings, loading up and hauling the bales off the property, etc.

As the land owner Kate would be entitled to 20-25% of the crop, whatever percentage they agree on. Now since Kate has no livestock she could sell her percentage back to the farmer for whatever a bale goes for in PA (alfalfa in CA is $18-$20/bale).

I don't know about the growing season in PA but in CA one can usually get 3 or 4 cuttings of alfalfa every year especially if the land is irrigated. Now in PA they get rain year round and in CA we do not so irrigation is something that I look for when buying a property.

Without knowing how many acres Kate has to lease out, and I do know she has some land that has been determined to be organic, if a farmer could grow 100 bales two times each summer, at 25% Kate would be entitled to 50 bales x $20 = $1,000.

Not a bad income since someone else does all the work and uses his own equipment to harvest the crop and this would qualify her as making income off her farmette.

He liked hiding low for some reason and he would climb the stairs and shred the carpet in the corner. We always thought he was trying to nest. We never walked around with him on our shoulder. BTW there is a difference in taste when it comes to eggs being fertilized or not, as well as a deeper yellow color. So the next time you are out in the country or at a farmers market, buy a dozen farm fresh eggs for $3.00 (ask if they are fertilized and free range) and taste the difference for yourself
*******
I know there is a tremendous difference between buying fresh eggs vs. store bought. Growing up, we always had a few chickens to provide fresh eggs for our family's needs. Family of 10 (parents, 8 kids), and we would start out with a dozen chicks every few years. They would mature, go out to the chicken coop, mature some more and then start laying eggs. Initially the care and maintenance was my older brother's job - because he started this as a business, with plans to sell the eggs to neighbors. Eventually, that petered out and all of us kids took turns feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, and (ewww!) cleaning out the coop. We did not have fertilized eggs, because we learned pretty quick that we didn't like roosters - they get too mean.

Today, my parents have finally given up chickens as they are in their 80's and don't want the extra work. But I still get fresh eggs once in awhile from my sister or SIL. I hate to "waste" them on baking and tend to use them for scrambled eggs or hardboiled eggs. In fact, I have 3 fresh eggs left so tomorrow night's dinner is breakfast: eggs, bacon, waffles, fresh cut strawberries.

Right. If mowing hay qualifies as some type of farming, then they should get the property tax credit. They wouldn't need cows, goats, chickens, pigs or SHEEP to get the credit.

The panel on The View are employees (except for BW and IDK what power she still has), they're not producers who make the decisions @ who to invite and what the line of questioning should be. Depending on their relationship with the decision makers, I don't think they'd want to risk their jobs by refusing to participate in certain interviews or to go off-script with their questions.

It may look hypocritical for them to act cheerful and accepting of whatever BS TFW is trying to sell, but I think for the most part they're just doing their job. It was a win-win situation for them. I remember reading about the kids locked in at nighttime too. If I recall, the school found out & reported it to CSP. Then CSP requested her to cease it. How the school found out was from one of the kids, I'm guessing.

You can buy keyed lock door knobs & it works on either side. I've done this before. You can put the keyed side on outside of the door. Hence the kids being locked in. Or she brought a side lock which you can put in one side without changing the knobs.

I am sure attorneys have advised her of maximum benefits with her land, and benefits to assist her with animals and she has taken full advantage of same for tax write offs.

Problem is that only TFW benefits from her kid's labor as she is and always will be the MIP. Not too much to be proud.

OK, birder experts here.. how likely is it for dear Zorro to be cage trained for pooping ONLY there, trained to walk all over every family member without danger, trained to give face kisses but NEVER bite?

-------------------

Parrot 101, briefly!

A parrot can be potty trained to go only in his cage. It's a long process that requires the know-how to do it. It's not like litter-training a kitten. Kate would never be able to do this, since she had no previous knowledge on the care and needs of birds. A parrot that size will likely poop every half hour or so. It sounds like the bird is out of his cage for extended periods of time, so unless the bird is cage-trained, he will go wherever he is at the moment. This means, kitchen counters, shoulders, heads, furniture, wherever. She didn't even know that birds should never be allowed to sit on shoulders. If this bird is potty trained, it would have been done in the pet shop, but I can't imagine that they would take the time to do this if the bird was there for sale. One other explanation would be that the bird had a previous home and was returned to the store for re-sale, and it had been trained by previous owners before she bought it. If it came from the breeder, he/she could have trained the bird, although this is rarely done.

Bottom line -- birds don't potty train themselves, and Kate would never have the experience and patience to do it. It requires consistency, and positive reinforcement, as well as voice commands.

As far as walking all over everyone...yes, it the bird was used to being handled in the pet shop. Kissing without biting -- nope. If something startles the bird in the act, or if the bird feel threatened in any way, he will bite, no matter how sweet and affectionate the bird normally is. Conure bites are nasty, and if that would happen, the person being bitten would immediately throw the bird off the shoulder and face, especially young children who would react in pain, not considering that they were going to injure the bird in the process.

I once fostered a gorgeous Moluccan cockatoo, Angel, who was the sweetest bird you'd ever want to meet. She was on my arm while I was putting some new toys on her perch. There was a thunderstorm going on, with the loudest crack of thunder I ever heard. I jerked because it scared me. She got spooked, and she nailed me. My first reaction was to throw her off my arm, but I didn't want to risk hurting the bird, so I waited until she was calm...blood dripping down my arm. I should have had stitches, but I just did a patch job myself! It was probably one of the nastiest bites I ever got. My fear is that something like this is going to happen to Zorro and he is going to be injured if flung off the child's shoulder.

If the fans or non-fans are interested in how this bird was trained, why don't they ask her? I'd be interested in knowing, but I don't have Twitter.

I've done a little reading about birds on shoulders and heads, and some do feel it's ok, but most warn that it's too dicey because you can't see the bird and if anything happens, well, your face is right there to bite, hang on to, groom etc.
Also, a bit on the arm or finger is one thing, but if a bird scars the face, that can be another matter all together.
I hope Zorro never scars Kate's Hollywood-hopeful face. That would be curtains for the birdie.

TFW is likely focused on getting another talk show lined up to answer Jon's claim that she needs a psychological evaluation, rather than judging her ”not a contest" contest. This is where I pray that all those doors have been slammed shut on her after the TODAY show stunt. Jon has had his chance to tell his side (which he did well), especially after being thrown under the bus by TFW so many times over the years. So, we have listened to both sides now. Hopefully, the media will let this fight play out in private and respect the 8 children caught in the middle of this custody battle. I would love it if the tabloids put a moratorium on this story, at least until the family gets the help it needs.

The story I want to read is the one where Kate decides to put her kids first and begins communicating with Jon for the sake of those children. I really believe Jon wants stability coming from both sides. The difference being that he is actively working toward that, while TFW continues along with one goal in mind, getting some use out of her 8 former money-makers.

The TODAY show did provide the impetus for Jon to find his voice, and he has displayed a new strength and maturity. Now, it's time to let the courts do their work, and step away from the publicity to protect their children from having this being played out in the public eye.

I am convinced the author follows this blog and has read Robert's book. So many little tells were very cleverly woven into the story ;)
*********
Me too. I'm about 100 pages in, and it's just way too uncanny for this author to write this story with so many similarities, having just watched a handful of the episodes, after happening upon that particular People cover with Kate and the kids.

Where did the story about the locks on the doors and the stale sandwiches initially come from? Was it in Robert's book, did it come from someone at the school, or was it just put out there by non-fans? It certainly didn't come from CPS.

I don't recall ever reading about locks on the kids' door.
In fact, when Hannah had an epic poop while napping, followed by a full-on freak out by Kate, the other tups had awoken and come downstairs.
Hannah was left to continue napping by herself.

@Kateplusmy8 has collected names & addresses & photo's of underage minor children. Pls report her scam contest here: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Question -- does anyone know who entered this not-a-contest? Have the minors spoken out that they entered and are indeed minors?

If not, how does anyone know that kids under 18 submitted this information?

I have no idea of what money TFW collects on eggs, although she clearly appeared to have some designated for home and others for Henry to sell. And to get a tax right-off on her land.

I am sure attorneys have advised her of maximum benefits with her land, and benefits to assist her with animals and she has taken full advantage of same for tax write offs.

* * * * * * * *

As for selling eggs ... maybe she is and maybe she is not ... if Kate is I doubt she has people coming to the house. No if she is selling I can see her having her not-a-nanny taking the eggs somewhere and bringing back the cash because Kate just can't deal with the general public since she is a big stah.

Who is Henry? Is he the guy who has a farmers market or is he the guy who delivered the chickens when they were building a chicken coop?

If Henry is the guy who has a farmers market because he has land to grow his vegetables, I'm sure he has his own chickens and does not need to buy Kate's eggs.

Now if Henry was the guy who brought chickens over to the McMansion in the episode where the chicken coop was being built, let me say that when I saw this episode I figured TLC or Kate searched craigslist looking for a local with full grown chickens to sell.

Last but not least, keep in mind that it was a reality show and not everything that might have been said on the show was the truth. Remember, if her lips are moving she must be lying.

I don't watch any of the entertainment/gossip shows, so I'm not really in the know about those who conduct interviews on them. Is this Alicia one who's done interviews on there before, or is she new? Just curious, since it sounds like her approach was so much more "journalistic" than the usual. I thought her response to someone's comment about the interview was refreshing:

Re: locking bedrooms. All it would take is a simple hook and eye.

------

My friend thought that would be a good idea because she had a toddler who crawled out of his crib. She was afraid he would flee in the night so she wanted to put a hook and eye on her front and back doors. Turns out it didn't work because of the composition and depth of the molding around the door. She did eventually figure something out, but it involved doing some carpentry so the hook and eye could be attached.

&&&&&&&&&&&

Henry is the Amish farmer who lives down the road. I believe his property is adjacent or in close proximity to Kate's land, If he has a farmer's market, that doesn't necessarily mean that he has chickens. I know a few people who sell their produce at their stand at the market, and they don't have chickens.

Something has been puzzling me. How did Jon get a interview (not a sound bit type) on ET? Did he call them up and said I want you to interview? Or does Jon have a PR firm repping him? If someone is repping him, I wonder if he/she has a master plan for Jon's TV tour. Just curious.

The story I want to read is the one where Kate decides to put her kids first and begins communicating with Jon for the sake of those children.

Amen.
At this point, I'd feel embarrassed to go on any show and admit that my ex and I do not co-parent because we don't speak to one another and just text.
I've felt that way for years, really.
That level of failing to parent your children is SHAMEFUL.

Minors cannot enter a contest without a parent's consent. Their signature is required, I believe. Also I've seen online contests presented in various ways. If someone is doing it via their log, often she will ask people to submit a comment on that particular post. Usually just an email address is all they ask for. So what was Kate going to do with these people's personal information? Also if she publishes someone's letter that includes the name of the receiver of kindness, wouldn't she have to get that person's consent also?

Didn't TCFW tweet that Zorro bit Mady on the finger? Seems like I remember that.

Can you imagine TCFW in charge of potty training Zorro? She would start on a Monday and tell Z that he had 5, yes, count'em, 5 days to get potty trained.

Can you imagine if Zorro had an accident on the 6th day? She would pick Z up by the hair of his head, throw him into his cage and beat him into his cage with the big wooden spoon.

If she would do it to her babies, she would do it to anybody or any animal.

She should of turned that organic farm into a organic vegetable farm. Fresh vegetables, fresh herbs. My parents scraped for years and bought a 40 acre farm in mid 70's and I told my dad to plant black walnut trees because black walnuts are so expensive. He just let a farmer grow soybeans on it for 900 dollars a year. Those trees would of been going on 40 years old now.

2 years ago, a F-3 tornado which was 3/4 of a mile wide hit right across the road in front of the farm. It went from there toward the big highway. It hit my cousins yard took their trees down, went down some and picked up a house with the husband and wife and it threw it a couple hundred yards and slammed it down and they walked out of it.

My dad and my brother ran over there, it was 10 pm at night and they were walking from the destroyed house, being joyful, as in grateful they were alive. My dad said, I wish that would of been my house and the tornado would of taken both of them. I said, you didn't say that!

He did. Another tornado came through and got all of his trees in his yard and one fell on the roof of the house. Then he had to fight the insurance company to pay. Your words will find you.

Just like they will TCFW on this contest. I can't believe she is ignoring this! That lazy thing! What about the act of kindness of the Warrior Quilt? She thinks she is not going to get into trouble about this. There are rules and laws. You cannot thumb your nose at the law.

I thought TCFW was a contract honorer!

The story about the sandwiches originally appeared in US magazine in November 2010. Hollywood Life also did a story about it. Both stories were based on info from a "source close to Kate".

I wouldn't believe a "source close to Kate" if ,my life depended on it, especially not after reading some of the gems that both the fans and non-fans come up with.

I finally saw that Cheerio ad. I cannot fathom what Mady would have seen that she would have related to enough to think that anything was her.
_____________________________________

Mel - I think Mady was relating to the fact that she, like the little girl, is quite the negotiator to get a good deal for herself. In the commercial, the dad tells his daughter, "Pretty soon you're going to have a baby brother." The little girl gets a "What you talkin' bout, Willis?" expression on her face for a split second. Then her expression changes to a look like, Oh yeah? Well if you want me to be OK with that, then you need to do something for me. That's when she slides an extra cheerio into the "family" and says "And a puppy."

I have a feeling Mady could definitely relate to the wheeling and dealing and negotiating to get something for herself out of a situation. It would be kind of like her saying to TFW, "OK, I won't go visit daddy, but you have to buy me that pair of $300 boots."

I had accidently deleted RH's book from my kindle and was just able to re-load it. I was sure it was gone from my kindle forever.

As I understood it, Kate only locked Alexis in her room at night. She would try to break out and ontime broke a mirror and cut herself. Also, the other kids would let her out to go to the bathroom. That's how I remember the story. Also, if this story and the stale lunch story are false, why didn't Kate ("Can We Sue") deny it or take action against such blatent and specific lies?.

All the people that entered Kate's not-a-contest have grounds for a lawsuit. Just sayin'.

You know my usual reaction to the tweeter wars is that it's just silly to bombard an innocent orthodontist with tweets just because she made one remark about the twins and has nothing to do with this saga. I have no interest in tweeting her or otherwise calling her out. However I've been thinking about it and I don't know, maybe seemingly innocent, "little" things like this shouldn't happen. Why do Mady and Cara have to be subjected to some random doctor making a very public tweet about them? Why is that okay, no big deal, don't harass them? I have to say that at 13, when I too was in braces, if an orthodontist tweeted something about LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL BRACES, I would not be flattered or love it. I would be just plain mortified. The last thing you want is for people to notice your braces, as hard as that is. This kind of life these kids lead, including enduring random tweets from strangers, is NOT okay.

Anonymous names don't have to be revealed unless ASKED is my understanding of the law. Usually contests provide a way to contact them to ask for the names of the winner. No one had ever asked me for the names. If you're going to ask me to reveal the names now years later, I will have to look into the law on that since I think it's been too long now to expect a reasonable person to hang onto those records. It's also my understanding that the names aren't required for drawings, and most of my very few contests were just drawings. Just like PW does all the time. Kate's was not a drawing but a contest with judging for the BEST, a whole other bag of legal intricacies.

The reason for that rule is so that some douchebag like Kate doesn't get to get away with saying okay folks I picked the winners, bye now--and then secretly she never really picked anyone and kept the prizes for herself. It keeps people honest making sure contests actually did take place. Since I actually went through with my contest, when I said I would, and did exactly what I said I would, and provided the prizes I promised promptly to the winners, and there is no proof otherwise, that shouldn't be a concern for you.

I'm lost. The younger kids were five when Jon moved out. She allegedly locked them in when they were five years old or older?
