I was at my local gas station/ mart and saw people magazines with TFW wrinkled face ( wow Botox and tanning sure have aged her) smiling at me. I turned it around and put a Star Mag. in front of it, without even opening it. I did it for all the children/ animals who are abused by people by her! I don't forgive or forget when abuse is involved I don't care who commits it!

This morning there is a story about an obsessed fan of Selena Gomez who killed his family apparently over Selena. I wish TFW would read the stories and see the dangers of over exposing her kids, but I guess she's to busy trying to sell her kids pictures to anyone who will pay her a penny! I have always said that she has no hope of changing! She got the taste of easy money and that was a dream come true for an extremely lazy person! Don't expect her to ever work again!

SaraMRN2010, that is EXACTLY what I posted when the cover came out. Kate ALWAYS goes on Twitter silence when something is up. Not sure what "People" production schedule is, but Kate's story is not timely, so it could have shot months ago. How the heck she wangled her way onto the cover, I have no idea except there had to be money exchanged. The story is just not news worthy but the timing is suspect with the cookbook coming out. "People" is such a rag, no better than "Star" and the rest.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

If PW were on the cover of People, she would have gotten permission to do a blog post on it, even if she had to post it after the cover came out. She would include tons of behind the scenes photos, and lots of funny and interesting stories about what happened on the shoot. I can imagine a photoshoot with eight kids is FULL of stories. How about at least tweet a few? Come on!

In her ridiculous attempt to keep everything secretive, Kate misses golden opportunities to build interest in her site with posts like that.

Vanessa said...

I just hope she's not counting on the kids to support her once they enter the work force, it's bad enough that they have supported her up until now.
**************************************************
So sick if this is what it will come down to. How will it go over with her ADULT children when she has to tell them all THEIR money is gone? THEY will have to go out into the workforce and support HER? How will she spin that?
They will see her through adult eyes one day, when they are married and have children of their own. It's going to bite her in the a$$. Just their freaking 50 pt cleaning chart will be enough justification to call her on her ABUSE.

TLC stinks said...

Yes, yes...her property is expensive to maintain. It is expensive to have it mowed and the whole blog about weed pulling is ridiculous. And of course she has a crew that also takes care of the beds, trimming, weeding and mulching. Geez. The kids weed pulling was probably some type of punishment as opposed to her making it appear as some kind of learning/family experience. Holy cow, pulling weeds is NOT fun and I am a gardener. She must think she is sooooo smart to pass off such rubbish.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Vanessa, I agree with you. And what's sad is that who even knows what kind of parents they will be someday in light of all this. I can picture many of them "rebelling" against how they were parented when they become parents themselves. In other words, no rules, no chores, kids running wild, do whatever you want. And that's not good EITHER. Others may grow up just as strict not knowing any other way to be.

These sort of things have long-lasting consequences.

Then the employees, like Layla's son, have to check to see if anyone has turned the magazines around of defaced them, and they have to go around to the racks and make them right again. I don't see how turning magazines around, or drawing horns on Kate's face helps the kids in any way, and it certainly isn't going to help the Shokas of the world.

If people want to buy the magazine, they will. They'll find it. She's already been paid for the article; the kids have been exposed once again, and turning around a magazine isn't going to make one iota of a difference.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I think Summer just helped me realize why this turning around is giving me a funny feeling. I don't think hard working minimum wage Americans should have to clean up the messes of magazines either turned around or moved to different spots as Milo did. (Milo? They just have to move them back.)

That just hurts the real mediocre of this world. If someone wants the magazine they will find it.

And to add...I think all her whining in People is also a BIG push to GRIFT big time from not only her fans but to readers, companies, and advertisers.

The way to stop "People" from publishing about Kate is simply to not buy the issue. If she doesn't increase sales, they won't use her.

I took a look at the mag while on line at the store today. I'm guessing that the photo shoot was done earlier in the year. If you take a look at the big balls picture (as a Jersey girl I was giggling while I typed that) there are very few leaves in the trees in the background. The trees around here are full of leaves and I assume that hers would be to. Also, as someone mentioned, the kids don't look very tan for having spent the summer in the pool/sun.

Along the way came word that Kate was, to use one euphemism- demanding. "There was no pleasing her sometimes, says a source close to (K+8) production. It became impossible." The production source went on to say that the network became tired of Kate's diva-like antics and, given the show's dwindling ratings, pulled the plug.

###########

Have her main sheep addressed this? After all, Kate is loved all over the world. Everyone who meets her loves her. They must have read this. I guess the person responsible for this quote was lying through his/her teeth because they were jealous.
___________________________________________

Lol, yes this does present the sheeple with a conundrum. Not only did a TLC source more or less say Kate was a bitch, Kate herself said "I made mistakes, of course." This type of scenario, and how to spin it for TFW, is not found in the KG superfan manual. Unaccustomed to Kate admitting a mistake OF ANY sort, they will just ignore it.

I, however, will expound on it throroughly. After the divorce, Kate found herself in position of needing to provide for and pay tuition for 8 children under the age of 9. In addition, she had a million dollar estate to maintain. One would think she would have entered ASAP into talks with TLC about staying on the air long term... maybe taking a pay cut, not greedily planning a $100,000+ trip to Austrailia and having TLC install a $4,000 pool slide & salt water conversion. She claims in the People article that the lack of a regular paycheck has bothered her terribly. Ok, the time to think about that was in early 2010. Not 2013 after TLC canned her ass and left her on the curb. It's infuriating to read the sheeple bleats saying that "Kate is a good mom always workin hard N providn a good livin 4 her babies." No, she is not. She took a once in 7 lifetimes opportunity and squandered it by being impossible and demanding. She did not put her children first, she put Kate first. She put her sick need to make people bend and break to her will, first. She put her need to always have more, better and even more, first. After all that, she learned nothing and pulled the same diva act at Coupon Cabin! WTF! After less than a year, Scott kicked her to the curb and told her not to let the door hit her on the way out. Right there are two examples of how she ruined the steady paycheck she says the lack of keeps her awake at night. Kate, get some help.

How the sheeple can bash Jon, who is working- WORKING at normal job, while TFW keeps getting fired over & over again, is beyond me. They are just as nutty as TFW if they think her behavior is virtuous and honorable.

Here's my take on the People cover: TFW had nothing to do with getting herself on the cover. As important as she thinks she is, she's not so important that she could make this happen. I believe it's just because it's been 2 years since the show went off and that's a good time to show a 'where they are now' article.

Did anyone else notice the boys shirts with Ralph Lauren Polo logos on them? Some pretty pricy shirts for someone who is having to piece and patch for their money. She is such a piece of work. All those negative comments are bound to bother her no matter what she says.

As far as keeping it secret, my guess is she thinks she has to do that because the haters might contact People, or whoever, and blast them with trying to block her from being on the cover. Yeah, she doesn't know about or care about 95% of the people who even knows who she is. 95% of the people cannot stand anything about her. It's probably really more like 98%!

Here's my take on the People cover:
*****
Agree that it's time for a "Where Are They Now" piece. Surprised TLC hasn't done one yet, but if a close source to filming leaked what a piece of work Kate is, then they might just be done with her... unless Jon's part of it.
Kate's such a dog in the manger, that she'd cut off her nose to spite her face to keep Jon from getting back on TV.
Oh, I think she is "that type of girl" who wants her fame on TV back, big time. A non-specific quote, alluding to who knows what, doesn't make her virtuous or give her a moral compass. After all, her boys are going to have major bragging rights in the very near future when they Google Kendra's porn videos and say, "hey, this was our babysitter/Mom for a week!! High five!!".
Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

The Ralph Lauren shirts can be purchased at T.J. Maxx. I recently bought DH one in a lovely shade of purple, and I've got some really nice designer stuff for cheapo.
Yes, I'm a Maxxinista.

Last, I've wondered if magazine covers shot in advance have to be kept mum. I imagine they do so that competitors don't know what's up your sleeve.

What TFW thinks is interesting and entertaining and what most people think is interesting and entertaining are as distant as the sun from the former Pluto. Remember her couch "funnies"? Remember her tweets about "cute things said by X in the kitchen today?" Not always amusing, IMO. Those little moments would be great fodder for MOST people, but TFW would ruin it.

I think the point about the Ralph Lauren shirts is that they give the APPEARANCE of expensive.

I think that its interesting that 2 years (or is it 4 years) after the divorce Kate still doesn't have a man in her life. Yet, Jon has had some long term relationships. I wonder if Kate is jealous of Jon being able to have relationships with other people. Kate has projected an image of she is so much better than Jon. And remember her statement "once you meet me, you like me". How is that working out for her. May be is looking for a sugar Daddy to take care of her (financial, emotionally).

Did not buy the magazine but read it in a doctor's office - it is clear that the picture taken outside was in April at some point. Such a shame that she continues to pimp out her children.

Formerly Duped said...

btw I mentioned about the RL shirts last post...people seemed to think it was it was irrelevant as you can pick them up cheaply but I agree it gives the appearance of a 'designer life' when the article is to show how TFW struggles on a daily basis to keep the family going. That's what I meant before as well!

You know I found the last photo of the People article rather metaphoric. If you haven't seen it, it's Kate off to the side, playing with a big yellow ball. The kids are far back to her right, sitting down around a ball, not playing, just sitting and watching TFW play.

Isn't that exactly what happens here much of the time? KATE gets to have all the fun while the other kids are pushed off to the side. They SEE the fun and know it's right there, but it's really about TFW and her fun.

I have always felt since day one this was all about what KATE wanted--the trips, the filming, the fame, the T.V. host, the books. The children were mere tools to get to where she wanted to be.

Yup, that about sums it up.
Except for a couple of posed moments on film and for photo shoots, I've not seen Kate exude joy and love just looking at her children, or spontaneously grab them to hug and squeeze them. She just doesn't do it and as I said a short while ago, having watching my in-laws with their kids, there was such a strong connection and they seemed to marvel in the uniqueness of the kids.
Way different vibe.

Meagler said...

Thanks Formerly duped for the info on where the 52 point cleaning lists were found.

So, I guess it would be okay to put up a list like that and offer your kids $1 for every chore on that list they did, as an option to earn money. I just hope it isnt mandatory for those girls to do ALL of those things on the list.

The more I read about TFWs antics, the greater this image becomes in my mind... TFW is a cross between Mommy dearest and that woman people here were talking about that doesnt believe her career is over and she continues to live as though she is a big Stah!

Who knows what is and is not true. TFW just says whatever she needs to say to get what is the flavor of the day, even if it flies in the face of what she said yesterday to get the flavor of the day!

As someone said earlier... TFW has no relevence to the rest of the world. Mainly just us who have made her our soap opera of choice. And really there are not many of us left. Which is good.

If the coupon website works, that is great as hopefully she can stop pimping out her kids to create $$$. But as I said earlier, the couponing doesnt meet her demographic fan base!

Yep. My daughter and I went to a kids' safety lecture when she was small. They said to tell your kids to make a huge scene, to say "I don't know this person". If they are on their bike and approached in a car they should turn the bike around and take off. If they have a bike and someone gets out of the car, hold onto the bike and make a scene..they would have to get both the kid AND the bike in the car.

Yes, anything to call attention that they need help. My neighbor's children all carry whistles that are ear-piercing loud. I mean it would cause deafness. They know to pull out those whistles and just blow away if they are in a situation with a stranger that makes them feel uncomfortable.

“Which will beg the question, ‘Why don’t you go back to nursing?” But if I did that, I’d be spending everything I made on the babysitter I’D have to hire. So it needs to be something else. I have to make lightning strike”.

I am SICK TO DEATH of her saying she can't go back to nursing because the babysitter would cost too much.

The average RN salary is $56,000 a year. So lets say Kate earns $50,000, given she's been out of the nursing force for a few years now.

I just looked up nursing jobs near Wernersville. There are several part time ones through Genesis Healthcare that have 7 am to 3 pm shifts. So let's say she has to hire a babysitter to come in at 5:30 a.m. to get the kids up, fed and out the door for school to catch the 7 a.m. bus. That's 1.5 per day or 7.5 hours per week.

Now I'm not sure what babysitters make in Wernersville, PA but my daughter has been babysitting all summer (she's 22) and making $15 an hour. Same rate at 7.5 hours is $112.50 for a 5 day week.

At $50,000 a year, Kate would bring home a little over $2900 after taxes (assuming a 30 % tax rate). Her babysitter would run her $450 a month. She'd have $2450 a month left after babysitting.

No, Kate. You would NOT be paying your entire salary to the babysitter.

I can understand that $2450 may not cover your bills with 8 kids, especially if you continue to insist on living in your current house, sending your children to a private school, and owning 3 cars.

But STOP using your children as an excuse for doing everything you can to stay in the entertainment industry. This is your choice. Not theirs. Yours. You are choosing to live your life a certain way. If you choose to dip into your savings to do so, again, that is your choice. But don't plead poor and say you can't go back into nursing because it costs too much to get childcare for the 8 children you chose to have.

Lightning is probably not going to strike twice. You need to face reality, Kate, The only way you're getting another show is if:

a) You and Jon do a reunion show together with the kids. (Not going to happen - you've said so and Jon probably wouldn't do it either)

b) You find someone else to marry you and you "miraculously" conceive another set of sextuplets. (You could probably forge another prescription and get more Clomid from overseas.)

Kate, if you don't want to go back to nursing because it's not what you want to do, then just say that. I, for one, might have some respect for you if you did because you'd be being honest for once. But please stop this whole tired "I can't go back to nursing! I have 8, count 'em, 8 KIDS! It's too expensive!" It's getting old, just like you.

Sorry, meant to say that $56,000 is the average salary for an RN in PA. Also, I assumed a full time work schedule for her. If there are part time positions that run 7-3, I'm sure there are full time ones as well somewhere in her area.

TFW is getting so boring...her past 4 years are like the movie Ground hog day! It's just a constant repeat...we miss the crew..we miss the trips and the adventures...buy another failed attempt at a book...I love my kids....I am the best mommy..someone give me a talk show...yadayadayada.. TFW YOU don't need to miss the trips and adventures!!! Just PAY FOR IT YOURSELF and go!! Don't let the plane door hit you in the ass...just for the love of God SHUT UP already!! Ok rant over...

Now I want to talk about poor Ia from NJHW....Sorry typo...Gia from NJHW. I work in a middle school with kids her age. I am sure she doesn't go to an expensive exclusive school like the Gosselin's...she is going back to school right when the Feces hits the fan for her parents. The gov't is NOT wasting time. Their court date is the middle of October. I feel bad for her because just like the gosselin kids, she's just another child victim of reality tv. So sad for these kids.

Silimom what a great breakdown. Thank you. Your daughter's rate was just about what I made per hour working for wealthy people. If Kate can't find a babysitter for that much she's not trying hard enough.

It's 2013 now. Jobs these days are more flexible when it comes to women and their kids. Nobody wants a lawsuit over it. I know tons of mothers who come a little later or earlier, leave a little later or earlier, or take a longer lunch break to pick up kids and make up the difference later. She may not find such flexibility her first try, but ask around. Find out what nursing part time jobs are flexible for mothers. She won't get it right away, but if she plugged at it, I bet the farm she could find a part time nursing job that could work with their school schedule such that she would never need a babysitter during the school year, and that would even accommodate the occasional appearance she does. The appearances are so rare anyway and often on the weekends, they might not care a bit. That leave summers only to pay a sitter, and she could work with Jon, Jamie, and family and friends to cover several weeks.

In high school I did some summer babysitting for a little girl and it worked out to about 3 weeks total tops. Her parents were devoted to her, and dad took off a couple weeks to look after her, mom took off the next couple weeks, and one or two of those she was at camp and several days with grandparents mixed in. All in all I think they spent all of 600 bucks on me for the whole summer. Chump change for TFW.

In many ways, it kind of angers me she paints this picture of horrible bosses who would never pay her enough to feed her children or understand her obligations. Because the vast majority of employers I have worked for have been extremely flexible and understanding to any situation that comes your way. Life happens. Not everyone is some brutal dictator who fires you if you punch in two minutes late because your toddler was throwing up. Believe it or not there are some very sympathetic and understanding people out there who are happy to hire mothers.

Just Down The Road said...

Now I'm not sure what babysitters make in Wernersville, PA but my daughter has been babysitting all summer (she's 22) and making $15 an hour. Same rate at 7.5 hours is $112.50 for a 5 day week.

----------------------

For how many children? I would think that for eight kids, a sitter would charge more than that.

Regardless, if she'd get an 8 to 5 position, there would be no need for a sitter during the week at all. She could drop them off at the bus stop on her way to work. They'd take the late bus home, and she'd be home when they got there.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

For eight kids, two of them should be almost self sufficient, I would charge $20 in that neck of the woods. Maybe $25 in wealthier areas. Still not nearly high enough for a nursing salary not to be worth it. At this age you're mostly paying a driver to pick them up and shuttle them to activities. She should hire a babysitter/homework helper in one. Get them where they need to be and help with homework. Done.

Silimom said...

If rumors are true, and Kate is very much like her father, Kenton, then it's safe to say he was probably a narcissist as well.

I don't know much about her other siblings. I know her sister Clairissa is very religious (apparently in a "Prosperity Gospel" kind of way that also characterized Kate and Jon's faith) and recently adopted a child from Ethiopia and then got pregnant and had another baby. Her sister Christen makes jewelry for a living. She has one other sister I know nothing about. Kevin seems to have come our that family fairly normal.

The fact that I even know THAT much about people I've never met is kinda scary, if you think about it.

Wowser said...

Admin....I hate that movie as well !! Lol. Btw, when my youngest went to full time kindergarten, I had all 3 of my kiddos in a private school right down the road from a hospital where I took a job... Guess what?? I had an understanding boss who let me start my shift 1/2 hour later, and end 1/2 earlier so I could drop off AND pick up my kids. Kate is full of crap. She DOES not want to go back to nursing OR any other mediocre job. She wants to sit in a make-up chair, sit on a couch and "umm" us to death and get paid a ton of money to do NOTHING. She would actually HAVE to work in nursing. Remember her journal entries from her computer RAVING about how God was going to make it so she wouldn't have to work anymore followed by a million exclamation points. She has achieved her life's goal and by divine intervention apparently....now basque in it TFW.

silimom said...

My point in mentioning her siblings was in response to those who were discussing how her kids would turn out. The two with the most information out there about them, Clairissa and Kevin, seem fairly normal to me. I know Clairissa used crowd funding to try and raise money for her adoption and was compared to Kate because of that. I will say that, in my experience, this is something a lot of evangelical churches encourage their members to do, not just for adoption but for mission work as well (and many consider adoption a type of mission work). So, I will give Clairissa the benefit of the doubt on that one.

I guess my point is that in a family of five kids that may have had a narcissistic father and produced Kate, two seemed to have come out alright, so I have hopes that at least most of the kids will be okay, especially with Jon as their father. Not because he's perfect, but because I think he offers a more realistic world view then their mother.

We even have many judges who are happy to permit attorneys to come in at 9 or 10 oclock after dropping off children and fighting traffic.

As long as you discuss the situation with them beforehand and explain how it will not disrupt the courtroom (usually you work it out so nothing is scheduled for you that early), most of them are fine with it.

TFW acts like no bosses/judges/whoever is in charge of you has ever been a parent. Many of them are parents, and they understand, and they probably had understanding bosses who were flexible with them too once. Pay it forward. Open your mouth, explain your situation, and ask if they'll work with your issues. It's as simple as that.

For heaven sake she is not working for some nasty billionaire CEO where you're fired if you're not there every day at 5:55 am and stay until 8pm every night. Nonsense.

You're using too much logic on the job front. Yes there are bosses who will work with you on schedules. But in return they want you to WORK while you are there. I don't think she believes anyone knows how to be her boss. None of them would understand her special needs. Blah blah. She has no interest in actual work. That's why the kids have big chore lists. Why would she clean the kitchen when she can make Mady do it?

Yes I agree should work, esp if she's complaining about being broke. But she won't. There are some people who never seem to have to deal with the real world. She is one of them.

TFW is quoted in a few articles as saying:

"A gig on a show like The Talk would be ideal".

What would she do for a babysitter then? She'd have to travel to be on a show like the Talk or the View. Does she think that she would get paid enough to not only afford a babysitter but also to pay for travel expenses?

I still think it's more that she couldn't get a job in nursing, not that she doesn't want or can't go back. Who would hire her? Especially since she's been out of nursing for so long.

I can't picture her liking Egypt. Of course she's never bothered to research or ask someone who has been there what it's really like.

It is ROUGH there. She is blond and walks around like a two bit hooker, she would be getting cat calls and other noises constantly. We had two bodyguards with machine guns and still got that kind of thing. Our van got into a fender bender, which was resolved through a very nasty and frightening verbal argument instead of insurance companies. There is garbage everywhere, sweat shops and factories and incredible poverty.

There are no women in Egypt. Not that I ever saw. She just has no idea. None.

On top of this all, our entire group got salmonella poisoning, even though we ate at 5 star restaurants the whole time. It's just everywhere. You have to get interviewed by the health department when you get home and disinfect every time the toilet for a month so no one else gets it. And if you're a child, you can die from such a thing.

***********************
You scrimped and saved for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Egypt and then only ate in 5-star restaurants? Something is a bit incongruous about that.

I've been to Egypt, did not eat exclusively in 5-star restaurants and did not get salmonella. A couple people in my group got sick, but the majority were fine.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

If you've been to Egypt you would know how cheap it is. 5 star restaurants in Egypt cost exactly the same as a normal restaurant here. I never spent more than 20 American dollars on a meal at excellent restaurants.

Considering she is on the cover of People, there is very little media coverage in the last 2 days--none of which were mainstream media or television. I guess the fact that she now cites The Talk as her ideal job instead of The View is an indication that she realizes that that shit ain't never going to happen."

I saw somewhere that Amy and Sami are in talks with several networks for a reality show. So, the huge void that Kate left, that America so desperately needs--part of shrill shrew--will be filled by a newer, shinier version. Kate is yesterday, and, so very over.

I don't think the kid's have a clue on when or how to get help if they are feeling uncomfortable. I'm shocked that TFW would let them let them stray so far from her in public...She needs to be there to instruct every smile and every word said. Those kid's have been sheltered in such the wrong way, they don't have a clue.
There are cameras everywhere. If I was TFW I would ask for the video and call this creepy ass "fan" out. You don't follow children anywhere, especially into a bathroom you sick ass pig.
I hope Jon has heard this little diddy and uses it to inform the kid's on what to do if this ever happens again.
Then again, will TFW get mad and punish them for making such an un-nessary scene? These kid's are SO screwed until they can finally break away from her.

I bet they are thrilled to be going back to school. Not for the reasons most kid's are. They get to be away from TFW for hours a day. They get to break the chains and have whatever freedom comes along with being in school. And for them...I bet it's a lot!

A little more info on how TFW's coupon site is run. This is written in a blog on the site that powers the coupon site and is basically an advertisement for Clipper.

http://www.appthemes.com/blog/clipper-powers-celebrity-coupon-site/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+appthemes+%28AppThemes%29

One excerpt:

Kate’s site is packed with over 12,000 coupons provided by AppThemes partner, Coupilia. There’s plenty of traffic to the site, too. Miss Gosselin has over 150,000 Twitter followers and she’s tweeting news about her coupon deals daily. A cover story for People Magazine with a mention of CouponsByKate.com means even more traffic for Clipper to handle.

Has anyone seen those daily coupon deals that she's been tweeting? I know I haven't.

I wish her luck with her site-she's going to need it, because it doesn't seem like she's putting much effort into it.

I am not the biggest believer in never quitting. No, some things you SHOULD quit, especially if you gave them a fair shot and it's not working out and you're not any good. There's something out there you're good at or could be good at, why not stop trying to do things you stink at so you can focus on better things?

Someone who is toiling away daily at golf never any good at it, might never know they actually have a talent for music or art or science, because all they do is try to make a go at golf. Give it up.

The Talk films in LA. That would be "ideal" when you live in PA?!

She kept it a secret until one of her tweeties mentioned it on twitter. Then she tweeted about it and retweeted any tweet that mentioned it.

On her coupon site, she has a link to her regular website, but on her regular website there is nothing about her coupon site-no link, no post, nada.

TFW's idea of promotion seems to be is that if you mention it a few times, that's more than enough. She hasn't even tweeted much about the cookbook, except for a retweet here or there.

She should pay her tweeties for the free PR they're giving her, because she isn't doing it herself.

I also find it funny that on her coupon site, there are no coupons for her favorite store, Target. CC and retailmenot have Target coupons, so it's not like there are none available.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Michelle, we all noticed that too.

Why is "ideal" to get a demanding, full time job in L.A. that would pretty much require you to live there full time? She lives in PA. The children's father, friends, school and life is in PA. Their life and lifestyle is a PA lifestyle and LA would be a horrible shock and disruption for them. And the Talk is NOT going to be flexible about your kids. Bus stop, sick kid, school play? Sorry, you have to work and go on camera. The studio audience is not going to wait on you while you pick up Johnny from school because he has a fever. It will be a lifestyle of nannies and hired help to make sure the family's needs are met while you work.

Why on earth would you as a mother want to uproot your children like that when there are dozens of jobs you could get close to home that would be flexible about kids so they could all continue their nice lives there?

All of her previous appearances on tv and radio can be considered her auditon tape for future work. That said, she is a poor performer and there is no one out there looking to offer her regular work in the field. She is a plasticized 38 year old woman, no ingenue. She needs to grow and find a another career path. That money will not last forever, especially the ways she spends it: 8 private school tuitions, new cars, upkeep on a too large house and grounds . . And on Friday, her face is no longer on the cover of People. Another 15 minutes will be over.

If this is what she's thinking, she's nuts. She'd be with the kids 24 hours on the weekend once the flights are all said and done. She would be exhausted from the constant jetlag. I'm not even sure the network would go for that, not for a long term gig. They want their stars rested and focused, not jet lagged constantly. Plus there are often weekend obligations, interviews to do, perhaps even some work to do in prep for Monday's show. It's just nuts. She is like a 12 year old who wants to be a star but who eventually gets real and becomes a teacher and makes wonderful contributions to their community.

I also think it's highly possible she is ticked at Jon because she likely will never be able to leave the state because of him.

In my opinion, this whole "back to work" thing is a moot point. Does she even HAVE to go back to work? She hasn't worked in over two years and it doesn't seem to have made an impact on their lifestyle. As far as I know, she still has a lawn service, a pool service, a nanny, a cleaning service? So why even bother talking about working at this point? The only thing I can think of is she just wants to be on TV because she needs the attention, not because she needs it financially.

In a profession that is iffy for even the most talented, to NOT learn the craft most definitely is doomed to failure. Those who have succeeded worked their butts off. I just read an old People article about TFW, which was published right after the show was cancelled two years ago. There's really nothing different in the new article, that wasn't already said in the old one.

http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20531258,00.html

Just a few excerpts:

"I'd really love to find a place of my own on a talk show or something like that." Whatever shape her next job takes, Kate remains certain of one thing. "I'll be back," she says. "This is too much fun not to find a way back."

"In some of the earlier episodes, if you can even get past how different I looked, I cannot stand myself. I feel like since then I've mellowed somewhat. I know that I have changed."

"But the scary reality is, 12-hour nursing shifts every day wouldn't let me continue to provide well for eight kids essentially on my own. When you think about it that way, it gets really scary."

And she says the following about Mady:

"The most like me. She loves drama. Her dream is to be a Disney star."

So almost 2 years later, and it's the same old story.

Lather, rinse, repeat..

She is so full of horse manure. I am sure that I'm not the only one who has at least one friend who is a nurse. I have a dear friend from high school. She has two grown daughters. She raised them as a single mom after her husband left her and the girls. She is an RN, and yes she had long shifts. She figured it all out and provided a loving, stable home for them.

Not to mention, TFW isn't providing for her children all by herself. Jon did pay child support for at least a couple of years (maybe more). Not to mention all the money she stashed away in various bank accounts.

What's scary is that anyone besides a gullible 13-year old fan, would fall for this claptrap.

I was at my hairdressers on Friday, and he knows I like to thumb through the latest People magazine while my hair is processing. So he told me the latest issue arrived that day - it was the one with Kate and the kids on the cover. I picked it up and said, "I'm so tired of this Kate Gosselin!" and he said, "I can't stand her either!" We both agreed that her 15 minutes should have been up a long time ago, and that she was a shrew.

Somehow Kate wrangled this People cover. The general response has been overwhelmingly negative. I hope People realizes that Kate on the cover means less sales at the check out stands, and never repeats this mistake again.

I wonder how long it will take for TFW to realize - she isn't going to get another job on TV. She will not be asked to audition for a slot on The Talk. She will not be asked to do even brief interviews of celebs by ET or Extra. TLC execs are not going to return her calls. How long before it sinks in that IT'S ALL OVER? That no one wants to hear about her lengthy bed rest. That it's disturbing to hear her refer to her 9-year old children as "littles." That most people feel sorry for the children when they hear how their home resembles an orphanage in a Shirley Temple movie, complete with 52-point chore charts.

Kate, the clock is ticking. Your youngest children are only a few short years away from their freedom from you. By age 14 or maybe even younger, the courts will let them decide which parent they want to live with. Soon, your forced laborers will decide they'd rather live with their father - you know, the one whose brain functions normally.

Silimom said...

Of course Kate wants a talk show. She wouldn't care if she was around her kids or not. They've been accessories from day 1. Think about all the "helpers" she had when they were babies, the notes on the fridge and around the house on their first special, Jon getting her coffee ready while she slept in until 8:00/8:30, despite the fact that we heard the sextuplets up and talking while Jon was getting Mady and Cara off to school at 7 am.

Kate likes the "idea" of children but she doesn't like being an actual parent. At least that's always been my impression. She always complains about being a parent.

I'm not saying I don't get frustrated or tired, etc. or that I don't have days I want to grab my honey an run off on a two week vacation to some private beach rental in the Caribbean rather than mop up dog piddle and make sure homework gets done and cook dinner.

But if you ask me what I'd want to do if I could do anything, this would be it. I love that I am blessed to be able to be home with my kids and can dictate my own work schedule. I doing exactly what I want to do and I am exactly where I want to be.

This. This is what Kate will probably never have; a sense of knowing that she is exactly where she belongs.
She's always wishing and hoping, and making bucket lists and needing spa getaways, when God blessed her with the true miracle of her HOM's (and the twins, of course--still risky).
The ability to live in the moment, be happy with having what you need and maybe a little of what you want (and deserve!) is a blessing.
Jealous? No way.
Watching "The Help" yesterday, Aibileen says, "Ain't you tired, Miss Hilly? Ain't you tired?".
It must be exhausting to never be satisfied, to never have that itch scratched. Absolutely exhausting.

Hebrews 13:5
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

This is in stark contrast to what Kate is teaching her children. To make public to them and the world, her burdens, worries and fears about paying the (exorbitant and mostly unnecessary) bills and raising them, once again, is a travesty to their psychological and spiritual well being and growth.

Sillimom, EXACTLY! They all say we're jealous of KK and can't believe that we're not. I want nothing she has and I want exactly what I do have - a family that I love to pieces. It's not a glamorous life, but it's the life I chose and love with all my heart. If I could change anything it would only be to do it all over again because I miss my little kids. MY little kids, not KK's kids. I chose a simple family-centered life because I wanted a simple family-centered life. I wouldn't trade my life with anyone's. I only pay attention to KK because I ache for the pain those kids are in and I can't ignore it because she put it right in our faces. She's the last person I'd trade places with (with the exception of a few of her fans).

My best friend is a nurse and on her floor, half the nurses are single mothers and 90% of the rest are mothers. They usually work 7PM to 7:30AM three nights per week. I know Kate doesn't want to work and probably never will, but this bit about babysitters eating up her whole check is such malarkey. The women on the night shift average over $75,00 per year, some make well over 6 figures. They work mostly weekends while their kids are with their fathers and on the rare occasion if the father can't be with the kids, an aunt or grandma goes over and spends the night. Normal people who have lived in a certain community their whole lives have a whole network of friends and family willing to help out. Kate had a whole network of friends and family willing to help her. The key word is normal. You have to be a normal person to keep that network involved. It's ridiculous to burn every bridge, discard every friend and relative with your terrible behavior then gripe about the cost of babysitters.

Nursing was not a calling for Kate. I cannot understand with her lack of empathy and patience why she ever went into the profession anyway. Husband-hunting, I suppose. Frankly, she has no business in nursing but I agree, she should stop with the excuses. And like I said before, nobody would hire her anyway in the Reading area. She burned her bridges with the medical community.

Zero in nursing for how many years? TLC and crew have obviously been letting the cat out of the bag regarding Kate's demands and difficult nature. Scot of CC? Not thinking that one's a lock. The Stir? Yes! Kate can write a few elementary level paragraphs once a week.
Kate's bio is very weak.
I think she'd have a bit of difficulty securing any nursing position. Is PA hurting for nurses THAT bad?
I just can't see Kate putting in the work to get her skills back up to speed, becoming current on standard practices in every aspect of patient care (clinical, HIPAA, documentation, billing) and tolerating being supervised, provided a healthcare facility does that.
No way would I hire her to independently take phone calls, let alone treat patients, without supervision at this point.

Kate's victim "everyone leaves me eventually" mentality is self-imposed. I would bet dollars to donuts that if Kate reached out to her family and community, humbly, and asked for an opportunity to rebuild trusting relationships, that most people would.
Kate's "me against the world" approach to life isn't working.

I have many nurses in my extended family, all of which work in PA, near Kate (Montgomery & Chester counties), so I know the opportunities they have. All have BSNs and MSNs and started out doing clinical work in various specialties, on the hospital floor. Most have gravitated to research etc., working with the major Pharma companies there.
There are HUGE opportunities for nurses to diversify and advance, making it an amazing career choice.
I've always maintained that Kate really blew it (still is) by not advancing her education and using her stockpiled monies and investments to help get her to that next level, where she could secure a 9-5, management type position for the rest of her working life. Which btw, would include excellent benefits.

------------

Are you local? If there is a need for nurses in her area, if she's qualified, if her credentials are in order, I just can't see any organization denying her employment because she's an ex-reality star, unless her resume, references, and anything negative showed up from her past employment as a nurse. Therefore, there would be red flags, but saying that nobody in the Reading area would hire her may not, in fact, be true. There are many positions she could take in the nursing/medical field that would not involve hands-on patient care.

The comments on every article about her are absolutely scathing. When people actually hear the lies flow effortlessly out of our mouth rather than see them on paper, they get even more fired up. She is not doing herself any favors.

I have thought about the nursing thing. Who would hire her? And for what? Maybe she HAS put feelers out (someone found where she renewed her license or something once) but realizes it won't work. I cannot see anyone hiring her as a nurse when she's still shamelessly trying to claw her way back to the spotlight. Can any of you? Some here are business owners and others are in the medical field. Nurses/employees need to have their heads and some skin in the game. She wouldn't - for pete's sake, she got fired from a blogging job!

On another note about this whole ridiculous thing, how can TFW in one breath admit that she made mistakes and that she was a diva and a nightmare to deal with and Jon can't even talk to her he has to text her (remember, everything in the article was true according to TFW), and in the next breath claim to be "bullied"??

But, we were just calling her out. And now she herself admits it was true. How is it bullying if it's an adult and public figure and you're just saying the truth, a truth they now completely admit and own up to? Makes no sense. If it ever got to court, which it won't, why wouldn't anyone just say to the judge but your honor, the so called "victim" admits it all herself.

It should be noted, I can't remember the last time TFW brought up bullying. She used to rant and rave about it constantly. She appears to have quietly stepped away from that nonsense. And good for her, because it was indeed nonsense.

On the previous page, I saw that some had also read about the $24K per show fee. I think that is far closer to the truth than the reported $250K. Jon said that during the last season of J&K, they made $22,500 per half-hour episode. I think it was in Hoffman's book where that same amount was mentioned for half-hour episodes, and $40K for hour-long episodes. It seems logical that K got a slight raise, to $24K for a half-hour episode, and probably $41K or $42K for an hour long episode. By the time K+8 started, they weren't pulling in the kind of ratings that would justify a $250K paycheck.
I think the $24K is probably accurate for a half-hour episode. Of course, K+8 was mostly hour-long episodes, and she would have made more for those. But reporting the half-hour episode rate helps her to justify her poor-poor-me act, while not technically being a lie. TFW is crafty about her lies that aren't technically lies. She made plenty for K+8, and there's no reason why she shouldn't have some cash saved.
One thing that surprised me is that TFW is now willing to admit that she was a difficult, demanding diva. Maybe she thought that pretending to be a little self-aware would help her chances of getting a new show. But then she says she doesn't regret her mistakes. Okay, so she was a pain in the butt, it was one of the reasons she's unemployed, but she doesn't regret it? Yeah, sure, that makes so much sense. Not.
"I'll be back, This is too much fun to not find a way back". Uh, sure. She certainly looked like she was having soooo much fun on the RV trip.

What's not boring: The Great Gatsby movie that I saw again yesterday, what a masterpiece and how fabulous is Leonardo DiCaprio! Face Off on SyFy channel. big Brother, in its final month of competition. The beach! Any beach, that is. Actual adorable children I am related to. I still haven't seen The Great Gatsby, I want to! I wanted to know if anyone has seen The Butler. It looks really fantastic. Breaking Bad resumed, and I do believe it's the finest TV series I have ever seen. I find myself wanting to read the entire thing in novel form, I feel like I'm watching a great American novel on T.V. I googled that phrase just to see if anyone else felt the same and found several posts comparing it to the great American novel in T.V. form.

TFW's "style" of reality show was so five years ago. Reality shows used to just sort of follow around oddities and that was the extent of it. Viewers didn't demand more because reality was a novelty. Now it's not anymore.

I don't watch Duck Dynasty however I did look at maybe 5 minutes of it the other day just to get a feel for the most popular reality show on T.V. And what struck me was how character driven it was. Very, very heavy on character. A complicated show that was very structured, and much more depth if you will than your typical reality show.

The feel of that show is so vastly different and advanced than following around a gaggle of kids and watching them be cute. That's just not going to cut it anymore. People got used to reality shows and now, if you want success, you've got to really have that "it" factor to work. Just existing isn't enough anymore. Unless you're part of an established franchise like Real Housewives, you've got to have something or someone so interesting and unique it's nothing we've ever seen before.

The entire concept of TFW's show is dated. It's dated. At this point if it were back on T.V., it would look out of place.

Regarding broken promises to children - last year, I saw a friend I haven't seen in over 30 years. It was a great day catching up. I never knew her mom was bipolar. She unloaded about all the things their mom put them through because she didn't like being medicated. I am not suggesting Kate is bipolar, but the thing that brought a lump to my throat is when my friend said, "When I had my sons, I swore I would NEVER break a promise to them. Never! And I never did. Even if I didn't want to go where I said we would, or do an activity that I promised we would, I did it, every single time, because I did NOT want them to ever say that I broken promises to them. Kids do not forget that stuff and they do not have the intellectual maturity to handle that and realize it's not them, it's the person breaking the promise." Brandi Carlisle has a lyric that says, "The broken promises ad up." And they do.
And there was Kate, telling the kids and the whole world on camera that mommy and daddy would always be together. And they split shortly after that (and it was speculated they were already separated). So sad for those kids.

One of the brothers on Duck Dynasty recently said in an interview that many of their episodes are re-creations of things that happened in real life. They just do it again for the show. So it's not real time, and it's not really scripted.....I don't know what you'd call it.
They are great - they like each other, they don't have hissy fits, they don't curse, they have no entitlement at all, it's just good, clean fun. The season premiere last week made me and many others cry!

Ah, I'm not surprised it's "scripted." I described it as "structured" which is how it feels to me. It's organized, it's methodical, it's structured--it works. There is a much higher production value going into it that people have come to expect.

Obviously, TFW's show was scripted. But I don't think it was scripted so much in terms of say this line now say this now you say this. I think it was more like here go to this place and everyone get worked up. Now go to this place and everyone get worked up. Now go to this next place and everyone get worked up. That kind of "structure" just isn't going to cut it anymore. It's boring.

You beat me to the punch Admin. I was going to answer Joy and say what's not boring is the final season of Breaking Bad. Have you been watching Talking Bad? I'm enjoying that after show. It is the great American novel in TV form. Hard to believe that Brian Cranston was Malcolm's bumbling father. What a great actor.

On another note, Sons of Anarchy starts up again on 9/11.

I forgot one thing in my last post. I agree with you Joy there is nothing like the beach to revive the soul.

The thing I like about Duck Dynasty is that it involves three generations of Robertsons. Each generation has their own perspective and the first generation is having a hard time understanding the third generation with their latest techno gadgets. And that's the way it is in real life.

The second thing is the show isn't about money. Though I really didn't like they went to Hawaii (fish out of water was fun). This seemed like the network was trying to drum up drama. Boo. It's the little things that make this show fun, not the trips.

Contrast DD with Kate+8. The shows are polar opposites. Kate, as we have come to learn, is all about the perks and money; not family.

Breaking Bad. Wow indeed.

I didn't even start watching it until this time last year. I think I sort of brushed it off for that reason, oh Malcolm in the Middle's dad how great can it be? Boy was I wrong! I binge watched it last fall until I was all caught up. I have never wanted to turn the page on the next chapter so bad, I cannot wait to see how they will end this all.

What I love about it too is how much the actors GET it. They get that this is the role of a lifetime and have said so. They get that they have been blessed to be on one of the greatest shows of all time. They got matching tattoos. And one of their stars has CP but it doesn't define his character nor do they bring it up like it's the issue of the week. He just has it and you carry on like normal.

They love their fans. They don't just make empty promises to their fans. When they make a promise, they keep it. When a boy was dying and said he was a big fan, numerous members of the cast visited him in the hospital not once, not twice, but many times. He passed away recently, and they dedicated the season premiere to him.

It sounds like Duck Dynasty understands that the show will be ruined if they start lavishing them with a bunch of toys and gifts. That was the old way of doing a reality show. It's been done before, it gets old fast, audiences are no longer interested. We've now seen Hawaii, Europe, tropical islands, Australia numerous times. You can only do it so much before it doesn't work anymore.

Agree that Breaking Bad is amazing. Vince Gilligan who created it has said in interviews he wanted to turn the typical story telling of bad guy becomes good on its head. He wanted to start with an unassuming good guy and turn him into a total bad guy, and he hoped the audience would come along for the journey. How they will end this, who knows, but it will be memorable.
Sons of Anarchy, SQUEE!!!!!!!! Hamlet as told relocated to a California motorcycle gang! I think its the last season also. And we all know everyone at the end of hamlet is pretty much dead, so what will happen to SAMCRO?
Until the return, google Sesame Street and Sons of Poetry, its really funny!
Pawn Stars is a hit for the History Channel. a la Duck Dynasty, the pawn shop featured has the younger guy, his father, and his grandfather, and sometimes they debate over the value of items. Their personal life outside the show is rarely shown. You do get to see the three generations interact and that can be a lot of fun.
NJGal, I so agree. When the reality shenanigans get too aggravating, sitting and walking on a beach, any beach, for even five minutes can totally change your perspective for the better.

Why is Duck Dynasty starting to remind me of the Beverly Hillbillies? No interest in their vast wealth, fish out of water, Granny not understanding the new-fangled doodads and idea of Jethro' s...

Duck Dynasty already did their big trip to Hawaii, and I think they did a "re-marriage" ceremony for Kay and Phil. I used to watch the show now and then, and they are funniest when the brothers and Sy interact in as close to natural way as possible.

But when I saw Miss Kay hanging out at the bowling alley with her grandkids and their friends, and then she started talking to them about waiting to have sex - that's when the show jumped the shark for me. I'm in my early 50's, and I still thought: "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Grandma! Please do not talk about sex in front of the kids!"

Admin can you please address the rumblings on twitter that say BV is coming after this blog and the posters?
88888

I don't pay attention to Twitter. However, there is a part of me that would relish BV trying to intimidate me, as a poster here, and try one of his phony subpoenas to boot. He would find himself very sorry he ever tried to pull his phony, fraudulent lawsuit bull-oney on this cookie.

He would be wise to stay quite clear. I would most certainly follow up on any shenanigans or attempts to intimidate me, and have a legal network that would assist me in doing so.

Admin, I went to the Essential Reading suggestions and re-read the Vanity Fair article.

It was a glaring reminder of how "popular" they were and how "celebrity" her life was.

She is living on fame fumes now compared to that entourage life.

Oh for *@%# sakes, THIS spiel again? Wouldn't it cost MORE to have a full time babysitter who has to spend the entire week, day & night than to have them stay after late after school or have a sitter for a couple of hrs a day? And pray tell WHAT job out there lets you work a week on and a week off? See? It's basically "I'm waiting until the job that accommodates my selfish desires comes along" It's DONE TFW, get it? O.V.E.R The old pic of her with the fork is due for a comeback.

I see that Piers Morgan is tentative. He can come down pretty hard on people at times. Too bad Anderson Cooper won't be interviewing her

If, IF she's on, no way she doesn't know ahead of time what the questions will be. NO WAY

fidosmommy said...

My comment was pure sarcasm. But then again, in TFW's mind, she is pending on Piers because she is famous. "Many a celebrity has sat in that chair, although none quite as famous as I am. And they're not nearly as likeable as I am, either. I have the gift of gab they are missing."

TFW is such a source of humor.

HA! Maybe that's why the interview is "pending". Piers may not be willing to ask
softball questions and TFW may not be willing to answer the ones he wants to ask.

Regarding the HCI catalog and attached photos of the recipes and pages. http://www.hcibooks.com/bb-catalog-pdfs/fall_2013.pdf

The picture of Kate (page 5) sucking on her finger while two of the girls are making no-bake cookies is seriously grossing the heck out of me. Who the heck chooses and approves these pictures. ? (rhetorical question I know) *GAG*

Milo is indeed a mystery, who is careful to hide his/her identity. Could be a relative who is working with Kate to keep the twitter banter going or some college kid hired to pretend to be an insider fan. The southern style is simply to add an unique voice to this person to throw people off the trail of who the person really is. The person slips with the comments about Kate's "rockin' bikini bod" which a mother of two teens would never say to a celebrity. Gotta be a guy. With the pictures Milo has posted, could be the teen boy's family and he is pretending to be his mom who is the fan. Something is just not right with Milo's tweets. Shades of "Psycho". I say it's a male teen.

About Breaking Bad - Admin, my experience with this remarkable cable show was about the same as yours. I discovered it earlier in the summer and spent the better part of two weeks watching all five seasons!

I learned recently that the cast, crew, editors, producers and even the creator, Vince Gilligin, have a podcast after each show. I listened to one last night and found that it was a super adjunct to the show. There's insight into how the storyline is created, how shots are put together, how the cast feels about their characters. It's very freewheeling, funny, poignant, insightful.

The podcasts can be found at iTunes under Breaking Bad Insider or on the AMC website http://www.amctv.com/shows/breaking-bad/insider-podcast-season-5
