Absolutely. My comment above was poorly worded. You understood, but in case anger issues does not, I'll clarify.
Being repulsed by what someone else might find exciting is totally normal. It boils down to consent. Even the most conservative missionary activity, without consent is criminal. Human sexuality is complex and much more varied than this culture will ever acknowledge as 'within the range of normal' or acceptable. Simply put, the difference between "no harm -No foul" and criminal, is consent of all involved.

KK wants to be seen as a "nutrition expert". Well, KK, there's no earthly reason to feed your kids egg white omelets. Egg yolks are the most nutritious part of the egg. They contain most of the vitamins and minerals. Yes, the egg whites are higher (slightly) in protein and don't have the fat and cholesterol of the yolks, but they also don't have the calcium, folic acid, iron, zinc, magnesium Vits. A & D, etc. Unless those kids are on severely restricted caloric and cholesterol diets, as instructed by their physician, there's no reason not to feed them the yolks. In moderation, of course. OTH, does KK ever do anything in moderation?
Dang! Hit publish too soon again. My only excuse is that the heat has fried my brain. I don't understand KK's logic (KK and logic in the same sentence. There's a first, LOL) re Shoka and the egg yolks. Since when are egg yolks hard? I'd think a few scrambled, or even hard boiled, egg yolks would be good for him. When we had dogs, we always fed them a scrambled egg or two a week, with the vet's blessing. It was a real treat for them, and was good for their coat and their vision (egg yolks also contain lutein, which is good for the eyes). I'm glad she did take Shoka to the vet. Can't believe she's whining about the vet bill. $360+ sounds like a real bargain to me. It could have been much worse.
I looked at the chicken pasta dish- more pasta than chicken! Also she said she added tomato for color, which I did not see. But maybe it tasted ok.

The dogs were sent back because they weren't being cared for properly- by J&Ks own admission. Why he let Shoka come back is a mystery. The second time is not the charm :(

LOL, Auntie! My sister and my niece were visiting recently and I asked my niece what she was planning on doing over the weekend. She laughed and said that she and some girlfriends were going Rumspringing. I looked at her and told her that if she does any underage drinking, she'll find herself at the police station and when she gets home she'll know what it's like to have her rum sprung and she's not going to like it.
She's a good kid. She understood!
It is so darn hot here, and I keep thinking about Shoka. Our guys are inside, as always, nice and cool and sleeping peacefully. It was too hot for a walk, and they seemed to understand. We'll try later this evening if it cools off.

I had just gotten on the blog and began to read the afternoon posts when I came across this.....

I use the Allrecipes.com site frequently, and not only do I go to the site for new menu ideas, but I also subscribe to their daily recipe emails - so I get a brand new recipe idea emailed to me every day. I happen to have liked the recipe that I received yesterday, so I kept it to print later. I checked my email and lo and behold but what was the recipe, you guessed it, "Pesto Pasta With Chicken!" I went to Kate's website and read her recipe carefully, and yes, she does give Allrecipes.com credit for the recipe. But wow, all that lazy woman did was wait until she received a daily email, and then posted it for her own "Menu Tuesday." She can't even go and find a recipe on her own. Nope, just wait until something comes to her with no effort required at all.
Well, that made me a little more intrigued so I did a little bit more snooping. Kate said that she made her own pesto sauce. Kind of makes it sound like she invented it herself, huh? Nope the pesto sauce is an exact recipe from SimplyRecipes.com. Either Kate likes that it makes her sound all "organic super mom" like she invented the recipe herself, or else she couldn't be bothered to look up her recipe to see where she acquired it from in the first place.
So to recap: 1. Kate is lazy and posts recipes that come right to her own email box 2. Kate made it sound as if she made her "own" pesto sauce herself when it is a perfect copy from the website below, right down to the " Serve with pasta, or over baked potatoes, or spread over toasted baguette slices." 3. She sure didn't bother to give SimplyRecipes.com credit for the recipe that she posted on her own website.

Breaking news! I e-mailed Bella Bars with my concerns about the labelling of their product as vegan and raw. I did NOT mention her highness at all. Nor was I snarky (at least I didn't think I was) I, like many others, have to read labels very closely. Makes for a long trip to the grocery store. I actually received a response - quite a good one, I think:
after studying your email and investigating some of your concerns we are in the process of changing our packaging and web site to reflect that the bar is not vegan and not completely raw.
The new "sell" line will be "All Natural Simple Nutrition"
We were given some wrong information in the beginning which led to our packaging and marketing statements
One question....would you consider the bars to be Vegetarian or Vegetarian friendly.

Haven't read all of the comments yet, but I read her tweet about Shoka's vet bill. Our dear Cody, who we had to put down this past March, was a pure breed german shepherd. We've had a couple racoons in our yard, as well as possums, and lots of squirrels and birds. In the 11 years we had Cody, he chased the animals to get them out of his space, but he never bit one.
He got into a standoff with a racoon a few years ago when the raccon was cornered. We called Cody off and the racoon and the racoon hopped the fence and ran. Never did Cody EAT another animal.
Either Kate is lying about the dog eating the animal, or she truly is not feeding the dog enough.
Also, it's kind of ironic again that we comment last week about how she should have taken Shoka to the vet. Now today, out of the blue, she tweets that she took Shoka to the vet.

Given that Kate claims she was a producer on her show I'm guessing she had a lot of say. She even said they let her preview the episodes. Why couldn't she step up and say rework this or that? She had pull at the time back then. And it was not Hollywood editing the show it was outsourced to a little company in north Carolina that hired editors into child porn.
Isn't it funny how it is only when someone on TV is seen in a negative way it is always blamed on the editing.

I went on the internet to see if Kate was credited as a producer on J&K+8 or K+8. Nope. What I did find interesting was people are credited with series writing. Kate did brag about being an uncredited producer for her show, so it's ridiculous for her to claim "editing" made her look bad. And no, it's not "Hollywood" TLC is a subsidiary of Discovery, and their HQ is in Maryland, close to where I live. As I recall, Kate has been seen at the Discovery building a few times, most recently in March when she had to sign off on her contract ending. Then she was at the Whole Foods here. Glad I didn't go grocery shopping that day. Can you imagine running into Kate Gosselin at the grocery store, with all that produce handy? Some might slip out of your hand and take flight...accidentally, of course.

Here's my take on Milo. I think initially she was just supporting her because she believed she got a bad rap. As time went on, Milo became more and more obsessed with defending Kate. In doing this, Milo was getting attention. It didn't matter to her if she was accused of being delusional, a fanatic, or whatever. She liked the attention, she thrived on it, and her adulation of Kate got Kate to notice her. In her warped sense of reality, she and Kate connected. Kate is her best friend, her "girlfriend." It's the closest Milo has ever been (and will ever be) to a "celebrity." She's never met her, but that doesn't matter. She made a name for herself on Twitter and blogs. She and Kate both need attention and Milo doesn't care if she (Milo) is seen as nuts. She just keeps plugging away.
Now that she's been cast by the wayside with other former tweetie favorites, it will be interesting to see if her tweets become more demanding and far out there, or if she will pout, pull a disappearing act, and just give up.
What fascinates me is that nobody really knows who Milo is -- a man, a woman, a mother, an elderly person confined to a nursing home? She/he/it has really been successful in remaining anonymous, and therefore the mystery stays alive. If Milo is such a devoted fan, why is it that she didn't sign up for the cruise (supposedly she lives in the deep south -- Georgia), not impossible for her to get to the Ft. Lauderdale port. It can't be because of health/walking issues. She tweets that she walks three miles. For some reason, she doesn't want Kate to see her.
I have 2 pup that I love this week & weekend I took them to the vet.
My vet bill was $175.00 for all their shots and exams.
I took my dogs to the groomers my bill was $120.00.
However I got the dogs-(Kate) so I take care of them and I love them.
In return my pups brings me joy and happiness and protection.

Yes, the dog must have been still throwing up. Kate tweeted, yesterday or the day before, that she washed another rug and put it out to dry, and it rained. Which probably means the dog was still sick. My Rosie, after she ate that climber, was sick for 24 hours, and did throw up after the Emergency ER visit. And yes, they do charge that much, plus if you go to an Er, you are to follow-up at your own Vet. The ER was $150 plus medication and special dog food, and my Vet follow-up was about $100. And my Vet said to watch dog closely. The climber: pothos is a poisonous plant. Kates dog was sick for several days before she took it to the Vet. She should not have that dog.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Milo really isn't very bright:

THEY ARE OPPORTUNISTS, AND IF THE OPPORTUNITY TO EAT SOMETHING PRESENTS ITSELF (EVEN IF IT IS BAD AND WAS EATEN BEFORE) THE DOG WILL EAT IT AGAIN."
She is so ignorant for someone who is supposedly a trained health professional. She does not understand canine psychology at all, nor does she care to learn.
Personally, I think people who go to fan conventions to be a little sicko in the head. But that's just me. LOL

From what Kate incoherently rambled about the kid's wake up routine I gather this is the scoop: The children wake up, they are not permitted to leave their rooms until the nanny gives them the all clear, and only if their bed is made, toys put away, matching outfits on. They then have to sit quietly at the kitchen table while crappy food is rationed out on paper plates. The nanny then switches the laptop on so Kate can skype in their orders for the day. The children are criticized about everything and anything and made to promise they'll try harder tomorrow. Then it is time for them to go to the basement and play with their basement toys until lunch, cause the Nanny has a shitload of chores to get done. After the kids eat more crap on paper plates it is time for them to change into their outside clothes and play outdoors with their outside toys while the nanny hoovers the rugs and wipes the doorknobs down for finger prints. She then signals the children to put the outside toys neatly away, change into their bathing suits and she supervises them doing the laps Kate insists they must get done each day. Once pool time is over, they are given a carbohydrate snack so this coupled with the exercise makes them drowsy enough to spend the rest of the day in bed getting their reading homework done. Then it is up to the dining table for more crappy food on paper plates, then change into outdoor clothes and shoes where they have to run laps around the kompound until they tire of whining about having to go to bed at 7:3o in summer. Then it is showers, bed, blinds drawn, dvds installed, tvs on and they must each watch an episode of their show and be prepared to be grilled by Kate via skype as to who thought she looked prettiest where and when and did they indeed love her more than daddy. Then the nanny has to sit on skype with Kate some more answering questions and providing funny anecdotes of things her kids might have said. The nanny mostly makes this shit up because the kids are actually begging her to call Jon.
Can vets report animal abuse? And if they can, shouldn't Shoka's vet do that?

Only today did she mention she had a big vet bill. Why tweet about a big vet bill days after it happened? Seems a reasonable inference to me she only just recently took him to the vet.
It's really not the point. The point being there is something wrong if your dog is constantly eating critters. And I mean there is something wrong with the OWNER.
Does anyone remember animal control being called out on them? I can't find an article about it but I'm virtually certain they came out at some point. I think they were getting a lot of reports from both neighbors and viewers concerned for the dogs.
Life tip: If animal control is coming out to see you, you may not be a dog person.

I dont know what goes on on twitter, but anyone who slams Katie Irene isnt doing it because they are jealous of her. But I am glad she feels she is fighting a losing battle with those that dont fall for her act and her lies.
The thing I've found with dogs both from personal experience and reading about them is that they don't understand cause and effect unless the effect is immediate. And even then some dogs don't understand cause and effect.
I know some dogs learn from being skunked. Mine has not. He is a bright dog and knows a ton of tricks but he is unable to realize that because he approached our resident skunk and barked at him he got blasted. He keeps doing it and I have to watch him like a hawk when we go out.
So too does potty training go. Unless you are saying no practically as they are peeing, they don't understand what you are saying no about. If you say it literally five seconds after they went, they might think you are saying no because they are standing beside the kitchen table. They can't connect it.
The only way I've found my dogs learn is positive, immediate reinforcement. As far as critters go that suggests a dog who is bored, left alone too much, is not allowed around his humans when they are inside, is hungry, and is allowed to roam too much. Correct those things and the critter hunting will stop.

Betsy: I agree with you about kate being in the health care field/nurse. Kate also did not know what to do about the chicken, that got pecked. She told the crew to take care of it. Instead of getting the animal out of the cage and taking it to the Vet, Kate did nothing. And who's to say, that maybe Kate was wishing the dog dead. I would not be surprise, and if Kate secretly wishes the kids would disappear(till she needs them), she was referring to the 9 of them as if Jon was dead, for a time after the divorce. Someone I care very much about has some self esteem issues and they manifest themselves by constantly bragging about her exercise routine and her job and her boyfriend and her new city and her house. She splashes it all over Facebook, dominates conversations with it, etc. As you can expect, friends and family are getting a bit annoyed and some of them have started calling her out on it, trying to gently guide her and help her see how unattractive she is being. She's been lamenting to me about it and the first thing she always says is such-and-such said this to me but they're just jealous!!!
I've been trying to gently explain to her I really don't think this has to do with jealousy. I think they are trying to help you and sincerely mean well.
Anyway the point is it's just so darn easy to brush people off as jealous in order to avoid the realities of what they are saying. This way Kate never has to actually face the truths about her and neither does this person.

Does Kate understand that some people just aren't jealous people in general? Some people don't have jealous personalities. I'm one of them. And I get the vibe most people here are too. I don't feel a lot of negative vibes when people have mentioned cool things in their personal lives. I feel support and excitement.
I get excited for other people when I hear about a fun trip or a job promotion or that they closed on a great house or had a beautiful baby or have successful kids. I don't usually feel the emotion of jealousy. And I've certainly never felt it about Kate. In fact I want nothing to do with this kind of d-lister lifestyle, no thanks.

Admin - I agree with your post. I guess it is just easier for Kate and her few fans to label those who do not like the way she exploits not only her kids but everyone around her as "Jealous".
What I find interesting is that many times Kate has tweeted phrases expressing how she is "so jealous" to fans who tweet something good about their lives.
Saying she is jealous of another's good fortune seems to be a normal response to Kate which I find odd but it does explain why she then turns around and calls others "jealous". Kate feels jealousy herself so she projects her own feelings of jealousy onto others. (and we all know she projects her own feelings onto her kids too - miss the show, want free trips, miss the cameras...blah blah blah).

I stated what I had discovered in "Blessed To Be Mediocre Mother(19)". If you will look at "Blessed To Be Mediocre Mother" (23), you will find that I immediately realized my mistake and corrected that one point. I stated that Kate DID give SimplyRecipes.com credit for the pesto recipe.
Kate stated immediately, and twice, that the "Pesto Pasta With Chicken" recipe was from Allrecipes.com. She did NOT state where she got the pesto recipe right off. She put a credit at the very bottom of the recipe, thus making it quite easy for someone to get the impression that it was her recipe.
And the fact remains that Kate submitted a recipe for her "Menu Tuesday" that she got emailed right to herself on Monday. Allrecipes.com states that they have over 40,000 recipes on their site. Are we also supposed to believe that out of 40,000 recipes Kate just HAPPENED to post on her site the exact recipe that was mass emailed on Monday?
No, one does not have to "invent" a recipe to say that they made it. But one does have to be ethical, careful, and not misleading. I have never given anyone a recipe without giving credit to the person I got it from, thus making it sound like I might have created it myself. I would never say, " I made my own pesto sauce which was fresh, quick and easy and here is the recipe for that:" I would say, "Here is the pesto sauce that I made. I got it from SimplyRecipes.com."
Given the sheer volume of Kate's lies and deceptions, why would I not believe that Kate deliberately tried to mislead and make herself sound like "organic super mom". For proof of one of her deceptions, all we have to do is look back at my post (19).

By attacking the people, not the points they are making, they completely avoid the point and thus never have to address it. Instead of explaining WHY she feels she has not exploited her children, she attacks the people making the point.

A picture book of what? How could a picture book be all about Katie? She wouldnt do anything else. Let me guess, balloon animals she makes out of her - never mind. Maybe it's a book about moods and faces and how to inject that botox in just the right places to contort a fake facial expression, depending on what you are begging for in your latest TV interview. "Milk for the babies" is one botox routine, "I require a reality TV show of my own" is a different botox routine, and "I need to set the record straight" is your basic pancake makeup routine.
I'm caring for a sick puppy right now, and it's a full-time job, so hopefully you can all imagine the color of red I see when I read about Kate bitching about the vet bill (she's lucky it was only that!!!) and saying she hopes he learned his lesson.
I hope that poor uncared for dog finds a new, loving home that actually allows him to be with the pack.

Interesting theory. I'm not sure it'd be that easy for her to shop, though. Unless she's planning to work with a vanity press, it's doubtful she can choose her own illustrator. Editors/Publishing houses tend to work with a stable of illustrators. Also, and more importantly, picture books are way more challenging to write than most people think, and they're a VERY tough sell, especially now.

-Yells at them to make their beds, clean their rooms, and other chores on her chore chart
-Sends them downstairs to do worksheets that she copied illegally
-Makes Cara and Mady watch the 6 (if Babysitter/Nanny not there)
-Tells them not to answer the phone or door and stay in the basement while Kate goes for her run
-Lets them up for lunch and then sends them to their room to watch a K+8 video
-Pool time in the afternoon
-Dinner time and chores
-Back to watching videos of K+8 and sitting on line on the rug
-Mady and Cara get them ready for bed while Kate goes back to her room to read twitter and this blog
-And that when the kids ask her about a vacation, Kate tells them they already had their vacation last week. And then yells at them that she paid money and why they don't remember how she exhausted herself taking them to "Vacation" Bible School last week and how they are so ungrateful.
Kate's tweets tonight about how she needs a break and the sun, sand, boat.... And then she tweets about chores and a work ethic for the kids. Sad very sad.

I spend last Saturday and Sunday at the Summer Sizzle lacrosse tournament in MD with youngest DS.
The mother of one of my son's teammates is a REAL single mother. Her son's father left when he was 2 and has little contact with them since. Her son is a truly wonderful young man, she's done a great job raising him. Even though she's had the same loan officer job for 20 years, she recently had to take a cashier job at a grocery store to make ends meet. She drove to MD on Saturday to make the first game @ 8:40 am. She left at 1:30 and went to her grocery store job from 5:00 to 11:00pm. She picked up some groceries for herself, went home to prepare snacks for the tournament the next day and didn't get to bed until 1:00am. She slept straight through her alarm Sun. morning. Her son woke her up and they raced out the door to make it for the second game.
She was in tears as she told me this. She was not looking for a pity party, she just needed to vent. She's tired and there are no ends of her candles left to burn.

The NPD woman I knew operated so much like Kate. Other people's kids were amazing and adorable (remember her and Clay?).
Kids were ruled by rules and god forbid if anyone stepped out of line. Do NOT disturb mommy dearest until she was 'awake' You played in the basement. You DID NOT come up unless it was for a purpose - bathroom, to eat dinner etc.

She's tried those kinds of books and they didn't fly. I bet this one is a picture book for kids. Many times these are done in a series, and it sounds like something she hasn't tried yet. It would not surprise me a bit if she teamed up with a drooling fan who is also an illustrator.
8 Little Faces isn't a picture book, per se. It's a short, illustrated book for adults (target age group, according to Zondovan, 18 years and up).
Picture Books are intended for a much younger audience (typically: board books for babies on up to illustrated text for preschoolers.) The requirements are specific, and again, they're VERY hard to sell in the current publishing market.
Here's some basic guidelines. Note that tapping them out on an iPhone does not give you a leg up on the competition.

I was thinking back over this expired cereal thing, and I'm remembering at the time that this fan was tweeting everyone and everything connected to the media and publishing, specifically having to do with kids, trying to find an outlet for her work. She latched onto Kate, and Kate was tweeting her about kids' books, etc., and what a wonderful illustrator she was. I wonder if she really was such a devoted fan, or if this was all a build-up to gain her friendship in order to make a place for herself in the publishing world. At the time she seemed really desperate to find someone who wanted to work with her.

Sorta OT, I have a funny (now) pesto story. Years back, I found a recipe for pesto in Cosmo.
I and the men in my life love garlic so I always add extra. What didn't register was that pesto is not cooked, so I was doubling the
amount of raw garlic in the recipe. Dinner tasted great and my dinner companion loved it. I, however, ended up rolling around on the floor with agonizing stomach pain from too much raw garlic.
Lesson learned.
Just based on her history of being unable to do ANYTHING without the kids, I doubt the book is about Spot the rabbit. Plus I bet she thinks it sounds good to "help" other kids who have single moms to write a nice little diddy about how Daddy left Mommy with a big family to raise but if they just stick together everything is going to be fine. But they are usually written by people who know a little bit about child psychology and how to help kids going through tough times.

I posted in the previous thread that it would be completely in character for Kate to rip off ideas from a successful picture book series such as The Berenstain Bears. She is such a lazy simpleton that she probably thinks she can easily create a Six Little Gosselins series about a family of geese or koalas, and it will be a tremendous success. She is delusional.
First and foremost, she has demonstrated that she has miserable writing skills. There is no way she could assemble words in a fun, exciting, interesting, engaging, enjoyable, coherent fashion to create a good story that children would want to experience over and over again. If she intends to use only pictures with no words, she would still need to create a good story with pictures.
She has shown herself to be such a toxic person, that I can't imagine any major publisher wanting to have anything to do with her. Even her previous publisher, Zondervan, abandoned her.
If she intends to self-publish, she is in for a rude awakening. She will have to find an illustrator and attend to all production details if she intends for her books to be available in print, not just in e-book form.
The most difficult hurdle she will have to deal with is the marketing. There are a bazillionish (Kate-speak) picture books she will be competing with. Even if she produced the most wonderful picture book in the world, it will not be successful without good marketing.
I have written and published two children's picture books without the backing of a major publishing house. The enormous effort of creating them in the stone-age of publishing (pre-digital era with tedious, manual cut-and-paste work), was nothing compared to the most daunting part of the whole process, which was, by far, the marketing.
Looking back now, it seems possible that the "dream" she mailed off months ago was a pitch to a publishing company for her picture book series. I'd be willing to bet that we won't be seeing Six Little Gosselins Thank Their Beautiful Mommy, Six Little Gosselins Hit Their Big Sisters, or Six Little Gosselins Hate to Camp, anytime soon.

Someone is encouraging Kate, that's for sure and there was not a bigger brown noser (moreso than Milo imo) than Downlow as she was called. I don't think there's a publisher out there waiting eagerly for a picture book from Kate.
It certainly wouldn't surprise me that Downlow and Kate have become besties with Downlow convincing Kate she's got "connections" and will illustrate Kate's book and Kate can self-publish. This could be quite interesting. Downlow's blogs have been sadly lacking in interest and comments.

You are so right. She made Milo look like a casual fan. I remember the 80, count 'em, 80 tweets she made from the cereal store to Kate, telling her how many boxes of cereal were still there, and also some kind of bottled beverage. She was persistent, and if anyone could latch onto Kate and convince her to put Kate's writing skills with her artistic ability, it was Brownie. She was really a piece of work. Remember how she left flowers at the gate for Kate during the divorce? In admin's words, "blech!"

Isn't that just disgusting! Kate has poor communication skills, unable to write a decent sentence, and worst of all has no imagination at all! She does not have one creative bone in her body and yet she is writing a book! The worst part of this whole thing is that she will probably get it printed and sold! I don't want to sound mean but there are a lot of suckers out there who will buy that freaking book!!
A friend of mine ( a teacher ) wrote a children's book a few years ago. She got
$30,000 signing bonus and if I remember correctly $4.00 per book.
Didn't Kate sell 500,000 copies of 8 Faces? Bang! That's two million dollars! Yes she has to pay people here and there but still that's a lot of money!!
I have one question, who did she make a deal with and what did she promise??

Why do her kids think that scrambled eggs with sausage thrown in and toasted English muffins tastes like a meal from a restaurant?! I suppose compared to the small portions of slop she usually feeds them that would seem like a "special" meal. Poor kids know they have to compliment mommy or else! Sad! Also, I agree with everyones comments that you have to have work ethics in order to teach them so "Can do Kate" can't do that!

The interesting thing about this, and I looked at the blog as well, is that there are a number of illustrations shown. Many of them (the illustrations) depict a happy child, although some seem pensive.
However, only one of the illustrations is of a boy. The boy is struggling with...the weight of an ugly world I guess.
You have to admit that its appropriate for Katie Irene to gravitate to this particular illustrator.

I just realized that I have mediocre and ungrateful nieces.
3 of them spent a whole week with me. We are not a structured breakfast household, but I fixed breakfast for them every morning. We alternated -- country raised eggs, chocolate chip pancakes, french toast and cereal. Those silly little girls did not praise my cooking skills. They did not rave about my culinary-restaurant-style results.
They might have said thank you as they bolted out the door to play. Maybe...I don't remember.

In reply to Over in Berks @ 16 - Sending your daughter to the police station for underage drinking is a little more severe, but effective, punishment than what the Amish hand out to their young. I read up on rumspringa- ing (?? ) at wikipedia this morning and apparently if a youth dares to attend a Sunday night 'sing' before they're 16 they get forcefed warm milk from a spoon.
Don't you just wish it could be that simple?
I absolutely believe Kate is struggling. She has had enormous expenses and very little income for almost a year. She made a lot off the show, but there's a huge house, lawn and pool care, 8 kids, private school tuition for 8, her paid escort(Steve), hair, tanning, nails, clothes, shoes, etc. to pay for. I think she figured out exactly how long her money would last, but now the unforeseen expenses (damaged trees, leaking roof on house and barn, braces, sick dog, paying her lawyers to go after gosselinbook, etc) have taken a toll. She can't hang on as long as she thought she could, and there are no big media opportunities to fill her pockets again. Bet she never saw that coming.
She seems to have cut way back on her domestic help, to the point where she tried to make the kids do the weeding this spring and she was moving around the landscaping hoses herself. No Steve at the radio station...that's a first. No beach vacation, no matchy-matchy new outfits for the kids, she refinanced the house.
So, now she's planning to flood the market with books to make some quick cash, but isn't stopping to think that perhaps she won't get the huge advances she got before. People won't buy her books (like with the last one) and they will end up sitting in the dust bin at the dollar store as a testament to how low her career and reputation have sunk. And even that is a best-case scenario, because she'd need to find someone--anyone--to publish them first.
No, I am not jealous of the position Kate is in right now. And it's only going to get worse.
If Queen Kate wishes to publish pictures of her kids in a book, she will need Jon's consent.
Of course, she will preface this with we need to do this to support the kids,etc..
Quite frankly, BOTH parents need to support their 8 kids, without relying on them as the work product. 2 able bodied parents should be able to support the kids, once and for all, without relying on the children for help. 8 Years Later. Get a clue.
The kids' pictures should no longer be up for sale or promotion or used on blogs to keep popularity. The KIDs did not sign on for this Kate- you did. Release your children from the media and STOP POSTING PICTURES OF THEM.
GET A JOB AND LEAVE THEM ALONE.

They've made millions off those kids. They should have been smart enough to not change their lifestyle above that of a nurse and an IT tech and they'd be sitting pretty.
