@r3boz @gypsi001 @Kateplusmy8 we should plan a girls mini vaca. spa/run/dinner/drinks & good conversation!

Then some others joined in(this one included), and they all started talking about it and trying to plan it. Kate acted like she was gung-ho for the idea also and after several tweets back and forth, she tweeted:

Kate Gosselin‏@Kateplusmy8
@MaineGirl2 if you can spear head it and find out who is interested, where everyone is, etc we should find a neutral spot..and do it.

Kate encourages them to set it up, and now they think they're besties. Kate's above tweet is reminiscent of her tweets about the St. Louis fan meet and greet that that kid Austin was working on. Hmm-that never did pan out did it?

Thanks, Twit. I must have missed all of that. Is Milo included in the girls' night out? Where would Steve fit into all of this? Can't you see him sitting in the corner in the spa reading a copy of Vogue, or in the adjacent room in the hotel suite acting as a beck and call guy while the gals have a besties pajama party, drinking, giggling, gossiping, doing makeovers as they establish a bond of sisterhood?

I'm having a hard time understanding some of the outrage over the NCAA sanctions against Penn State. None of the NCAA sanctions will cause the county or state to lose out on the 161+ million dollars in revenue it realizes from PSU football.

The NCAA did NOT shut down the football program, so Penn State will still be playing a football game every week for the entire regular season, as usual. This means that businesses in the community will still be making their profits as they always have.

PSU not being allowed to play in Bowl games for 4 years (which is just ONE game per year for the next 4 years) does nothing to hurt the local economy. (It would only be economically harmful to the town if Penn State was scheduled to host a Bowl game.)

The loss of a share of Bowl revenues (approximately $13 million over the 4 years) keeps money from the university (football program) coffers, not from the local community.

The $60 million fine, which is millions less than the amount the football program brings in per year, penalizes PSU, not the local businesses.

Vacating the 112 wins from 1998 through 2011, while extremely disturbing to Paterno's family and supporters, will have no economic impact on the community or state.

The loss of scholarships (and not being permitted to play in Bowl games) will cause PSU to lose some of their most talented football players and will hurt recruiting. This will cause the football team to be less competitive. But Penn State has had some miserable teams in the past, and that has NOT caused their fanbase to be any less passionate or supportive. They will still fill their stadium whether they are winning or losing.

In looking at the sanctions, PSU actually got off pretty easy considering their role in giving a child molester (even if they only suspected it) access to their facilities and opportunities to victimize young boys.

Call Me Crazy, on paper it sounds like just missing one game is just one game. However it's not a game in a vacuum. It's sort of the end of the year "playoff" game, it's the game you play your whole season for, "what bowl will we go to" is the question asked all year long for any Division 1 school. So without the opportunity to go there, many people see the entire season as pointless. In a perfect world people should play sports game to game and just play it for the love of the game, but the true reality is that college football, hands down, across the board, is about winning as much as possible to get to the best bowl game possible. It's sort of like playing in the NFL but knowing you can't go to the Superbowl even if you earn the spot. It would cripple the team and render the season meaningless. This also affects other sports involved with the team who will also not be going to bowls, including the huge marching band, which won't be allowed to be showcased at a major bowl (something many musician nerds dream of), and cheer, which is very serious at big schools and involves true athletes and gymnasts. I still fail to see how punishing all these young people who have worked a decade to get to where they are helps the victims. You can just go to another school doesn't cut it in PA. Not to mention, the other school you could just go to may not have the strength of academics PSU has so you're caught between a rock and a hard place--go to PSU for academics knowing you've been cut at the knees in your sport or be able to play your sport but get a degree that isn't worth as much. Tough spot for kids devoted like they are.

The loss of revenue will without a shadow of a doubt be in the high millions for just cutting out four years of playoffs. Less interest, less players willing to commit, less fans in attendance at meaningless games, less staff needed, less money for everyone including academics and charity. They absolutely were trying to cut the program off at the knees. Whether justified or not, make no mistake they knew full well it was taking away more than just "one game" and in essence crippling the team. It was a move to force the Big Ten to kick the team off which would further cut them down. If they are out of the Big Ten they're done, it's over.

Now what's been kind of moving the past few days is how strong the guys are that are on the roster this year and most of them are vowing to stick this out. So if the main players are willing to stick this out, that may inspire fans and others to stick it out too. But again without that finale at the end there's just no doubt that interest will wane.

This is why so many fans have been explaining that this is WORSE than the death penalty and that they would have rather taken a year of that. I also believe that the football program could have been the leader in helping the school and community and alumni heal, and what was a darkest hour may transform into a group of young leaders' finest hour. This sanction severely impedes this class from being those leaders.

On another note, bowl games offer gigantic payouts 20 million and up that could have been given to charity. I don't think PSU should get off easy (nor do I agree they got off easy) I think the right people should be punished. Again, it does no good to cripple a school at the knees. It does nothing to help the victims. Nothing. If anything it keeps this wound coming up year and year after year as the innocent pay for the sins of their fathers. I'd be really curious how the victims feel about this. Strip wins, make them pay fines which can be given to the victims or charity, make them give as much to charity as possible, make them institute child abuse protection charities and support groups. All these things help the victims. Punishing all these people by tearing down the football program does not.

Call Me Crazy, I agree with everything you said.

What it comes down to for me, in a nutshell, is that pictures of Sandusky speaking/participating in Penn State's 150th anniversary festivities in 2004 are easily googled. Just as if nothing happened. Just as if two different investigations about this man plus a witness to him raping a child, never happened.

I don't know how they allowed that man to step foot on the campus ever again. Even with a major cover up, I would have felt alot better if all the higher ups refused to have any contact with him and refused to let him participate in anything that had to do with PSU. That doesn't seem to be the case. They all just went on with their merry lives, smug in the fact they all were bulletproof and able to cover anything.

It's JMO, but I think because these young victims were underprivleged, I think they were considered less than important. I think that made it much easier for some to turn a blind eye.

Personally I tend to agree with you but this is not a board to insult and tear people down. It's not welcome.

Wayward the human mind is interesting. I think some people almost tend to overcompensate when they are being delusional about something. It's kind of like how Kate's personality is. When everything is in the crapper she's going on and on about rainbows and butterflies. It's like the worst things get the more people act like nothing is happening. That seems to be the case here. The more they wanted to pretend this wasn't happening, the more privileges and access Sandusky got.

If you're going to cover something up I can't figure out why they didn't tell this guy look, just move to Florida and retire and never come back here or there's going to be problems. We probably would have never heard about this had they done that. And what was he going to do, say no? All they would have to do is call the cops then.

This is a fabulously insightful column that explains a lot better than I could why the no Bowl game-sanction doen't help anything. ____________________
Kate thinks the WORLD sure is ALL worked up about it! Holy Cow! Her ego knows no truth or bounds. And notice how she answers him. Complete gibberish. But note she says, "news without news so is it news?" I take that to mean that the news that E! put out was news but it really wasn't news because there was nothing new in the E! release. It confirms that she would like a dating show but there has been no takers and no producers interested. So therefore there is no news!

Kate is loving this press! But if nothing pans out for her on television will she be embarrassed by all this fake, nonsense coverage she started? I hope all this noise doesn't get some third-rate hard up producer interested in pursuing this TV show with her.

Let's throw tomatoes said...

Wow! Kate and Jaime are going through a mid- life crises! Is Jaime still married to that guy she married a couple of years ago? When my kids were their kids ages I didn't have any me time at all. As a matter of fact we took them everywhere we would go, such as dinner, movies, and vacations! Kate loves to be away from her kids! That going away smile can not lie!!

I also do not believe anything she says! I don't believe her kids go to church! She's just trying to impress Roma Downey and score points with her hubby, who happens to be a producer, that potentially could produce her dating show! Kate doesn't do or say anything that doesn't benefit her!!

And I don't want her to be a high school role model for anti- bullying! Kate stay away from young people! Are you going to influence them to be just like you and bully and fight with everyone they know and not get along with family and friends?
Maybe the media needs to pick up that story!

This is a fabulously insightful column that explains a lot better than I could why the no Bowl game-sanction doen't help anything. This isn't from a fan or someone who has any connection to this (and perhaps a bias).

Mitch Albom does have a ball in this game. He's a paid sports columnist, and as such, he has to formulate an opinion that builds/maintains readership and generates discussion.

I appreciate the "two trains of thought" motif he's got going, and he expresses clearly the arguments we've all heard, here and elsewhere. But when Albom equates the victims' injuries with those suffered by PSU at the hands of the NCAA, his main argument completely derails (at least for me). Here's the line I find most egregious:

"If it's $60 million and all victories for pedophilia, what happens, for example, if a future coaching staff member commits rape -- and it's covered up?"

That's EXACTLY what happened at PSU! Again and again to innocent victims; again and again, without any real consequences!

Yes, it's true that the major players in this debacle are either dead, dismissed, or gone of their own volition. And it's also true that fallout from this debacle will inflict widespread and serious harm to many. Those "ghosts" will haunt PSU for the foreseable future. And still...none of this, not for a single minute, erases the fact that there existed a systematic, institutional cover-up of heinous crimes--a nightmare from which the victims will likely never recover.

I guess that Kate would know if her name is on any DWTS list. So, this is not a crunch morning for her.

Football programs fund all student sports at a university including title 9 for women's students sports. I am fascinated that you see what the media does with a Kate tweet yet cannot possibly fathom that sports media may have jumped the gun and publicized hearsay as fact for PSU who never had their day in court. Some act as if Sandusky only brought the boys he was going to rape to PSU when hundreds he didn't touch were also brought and some of those actually defend him to this day because of course most were not touched because that is what pedophiles do as they groom few as to remain undetected. I happen to hold onto innoccent until proven guilty in a court of law. My humanity for all includes that EVEN when the topic is uncomfortable. Westbrooke

My Beardie(ish) went from the teat to a sh*tty home that DUMPED him at 10 weeks old at the local pound, which is to say HIGH KILL shelter. Fortunately, he was culled by a local humane rescue organization and put up for adoption, where DH and I found him a week later.
He was not taken care of in his whole little life until we came along. He had.... hookworm, pinworm, whipworm and coccidia. Oh, and a raging yeast/bacteria infection in the ears. Poor guy was being eaten inside out by parasites.
Today, Beardie is 11 and has been a love all of his life. Who ever could have dumped this gorgeous animal at a pound should have their junk punched.
Ironically, I just got a call back from the Vet (we took our Beardie and Bichon last night for shots) and he has Lyme disease! All of our dogs are on monthly preventative, but I guess it happens. We have to start him on a one month cycle of antibiotics. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I feel like a loser that my dog got this!

______

I was listening to a talk show yesterday, hosts cover tons of sports, and according to them, PSU was given a deal: take these sanctions quietly and curteously, no fussing about them (which they did), or FOUR years death penalty.

So they took the sanctions.

Also, I don't get the whole, "you're hurting the students" thing. If the only reason you choose a school is because of the football team, you have serious problems and probably shouldn't be going to college.

And as a music "nerd" myself, I can tell you that I never in a billion years dreamed of playing at a bowl game.

I wish they would be honest about college football and just say they are farm teams for the pros, pay the players a set salary, attending classes/earning a degree not necessary and be done with it. This whole "college student/football player" ideal is a smokescreen.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Westbrooke I don't agree with all of your opinions however I do agree with your explanation of how it hurts the students. We're not just talking about fans and how it will be sad they won't see games, we're talking about funding. Football is like a fundraiser for the rest of the school. Schools that don't have big football programs fundraise somehow, every school has to do it somehow. So whether you do that or have a bunch of guest speakers or have a big basketball program or what have you, all schools do this.

And you know what up until now it was a fairly "wholesome" thing to do, a good activity on a Saturday that didn't involve drinking and other bad things and was for the most part friendly competition. Actually there was nothing wrong itself about the games or the players. It was an institutional problem for those in leadership roles. And since most of the people involved in the coverup were university administration, by that logic maybe the university itself should be shut down.

Food for thought Sandusky actually took one of his victims to a local high school to molest him. Someone saw him and naturally, did nothing. Does it make sense to shut down the school? How does that help anything? How does that do anything but hurt innocent kids? IMO it's a very similar analogy.

Maggie said...

Jane I don't remember Kelley saying that. I may be wrong. Do you know when the video will be up? Today?

It also seems even crueler to not only lead people on about meet and greets that will never happen, but encourage them to spend their time and energy trying to organize it. Admin, we will have to agree to disagree about the PSU situation. The program has not been cut off at the knees. Appearing in a Bowl game does not legitimize or detract from a team's efforts in the regular season. If that was the case, only the 70 teams that participate in the 35 Bowls would be considered successful or feel they have a reason for being.

Playing in a Bowl is a reward, but it is mostly a showcase for only the most-talented players who have a shot at going pro. Those are the players who are and will be leaving Penn State. I sympathize with the athletes and band and cheerleaders who will miss out on the fun of performing at one of these games. They are, sadly, collateral damage, but their situation falls squarely at the feet of all the people who turned a blind eye.

As far as reasons the decision-makers at PSU did not just tell Sandusky to retire and move away: arrogance; concern that the story getting out would ruin their reputation; and fear that an investigation could uncover even more incidents of abuse prior to 1998.

wayward - I think you are right when you said that, because these boys were underprivileged, they were thought of as less important. Sandusky would have been in chains immediately if anyone witnessed him harming a child of privilege.

Improbable Dreams - I agree with your take on Mitch Albom's piece. He does have a horse in the race.

I'm guessing from the Tweets that she's getting bleached in NYC with her besties. Any time Kate complains about being exhausted, you know she's gearing up to leave the rug rats behind.
I wonder if there is any other mother out there who would go through such measures to have children and then decide that what's best for them is to be a part time mother.
No wonder she and Jamie get on so well. Jamie does not appear to be a junkie or criminal, or have any serious mental issues or addictions, so it's very suspect that she would have given custody of her kids up.
That's so antithetical to being a mother. I feel sorry for all those kids. And I wonder if Kate tells Jamie that because her kids don't live with her , that she should have no say in their lives. I mean, that's her stance with Jon after all.

Re: Jacksons

I think this is a truly dysfunctional family from Joe and Katherine's days or maybe even their own childhoods. I believe Katherine is being manipulated for money- some of the family want her out of the way and claim MJ's will is fraudulent. The kids are at an age where they can understand a bit of the selfishness and betrayal by aunts and uncles. Imagine Janet turning on Paris when she was oh so comforting during the memorial service. I think Prince and Paris will fight for what they believe is right, but they are still young and will need a guardian for a few years yet. As for Blanket, I never saw such an unhappy- looking child. I understand Debbie Rowe has been offering comfort- guess they have built up a relationship out of public view, which is good.

Yep that's okay, agree to disagree.

The problem with the logic that only 35 teams go is still, all 70 teams on day one of the season had the POTENTIAL to go. That potential to go drives Division 1 as does the potential to go to a Superbowl drives professional football. Not everyone will get a spot but the hope that you might drives things.

To prove the point, check out attendance and revenue during the last few games of a year when a team knows by then there is no way they can win enough games to go to a bowl game. It drops dramatically. This even happens at PSU. Conversely, check out attendance and revenue for a team that is only a win or two away from securing a bowl. The opposite happens, attendance skyrockets, revenue skyrockets. You can't argue with the numbers.

Even in teams that have not gone to a bowl in years, the psychology of maybe this will be OUR year drives ticket sales.

In a way that's one thing I used to think was so darn fun with being a big college football fan, even if your tam stunk. It had so much to do with keeping the faith that you would defy the odds and pull off something spectacular. And since once in a blue moon that's exactly what happens, it keeps you coming back for more.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Tucker, I agree. If you think about it putting her on the ballot list would be a great idea for ABC. Because then they can really see if the controversy really means people actually want her on. If they don't, nothing lost nothing gained.

I think even they are not sure if the controversy surrounding her will translate to actual viewers.

I agree with you Once A Viewer, this is a dysfunctional family. I think Katherine is being brainwashed or there was an attempt to brainwash her from Janet,Jermaine and randy. And the older daughter, rebbie,I think. It's a shame. They all have so much money and it's just not enough for them. I am appalled by the so called fact that Jermain and Randy wanted the estate to pay their back child support. The gall. I would say that I feel sorry for the kids, but I just can't say that because of the life they have, but I do think Blanket is a very sad and troubled boy. I think just having to go thru life with a name like Blanket is bad enough. They said that when katherine did return home,Blanket never left her side for hours. Something really needs to be done to help these kids. I hope someone finds an answer. The other siblings say that the will is invalid, but the time has elapsed to do anything about that. I'm sure there are bitter feelings all around. So Sad.

Westbrook, I'm guessing this is no comfort to those boys he did abuse. It doesn't matter if he helped thousands of young boys and had abused "only" even just one. He was a predator, and every one of those boys he "helped" was a potential victim.

I thoroughly agree with your comment. They are trying to get control of Michael's estate and money and using Katherine to further their agenda. It seems they're hoping that she will support them in getting rid of the current executors of the estate.

I saw the video statement that Katharine Jackson did. She was surrounded by Janet, Randy, and Jermaine. She was reading off of papers in a notebook. It did not seem credible at all.

Apparently, LaToya is now in the mix, but the only thing that has been reported about her is that she feels the family should hash out their problems in private because the publicity is not good for the family or the children.

Is it at all possible there is one sane member in that family?

Even in teams that have not gone to a bowl in years, the psychology of maybe this will be OUR year drives ticket sales.

In a way that's one thing I used to think was so darn fun with being a big college football fan, even if your tam stunk. It had so much to do with keeping the faith that you would defy the odds and pull off something spectacular. And since once in a blue moon that's exactly what happens, it keeps you coming back for more.

So is it about ticket sales or team spirit, or are the two inextricably linked?

Jacksons;

Yes, I hope they can sort things out privately as LaToya and Debbie Rowe seem to be modeling. The brothers did not grow up with normal childhoods ( or Janet or Rebbie) so I guess they learned that money, money, money is the most important thing. I hope Katherine remains strong and is not further manipulated- she is an elderly woman, clearly with a strong relationship with the children.

It's very sad to see this family crumble even further with the innocent children in the middle. I doubt any of them will grow up unscathed by their childhoods as the cycle continues.

PS I hope Blanket changes his name and cuts his hair!

I think the timing of the dating show story was planned to coincide with the DWTS announcement.

If she is not on the list, she can use the "I'm working on my own show and would have had no time for DWTS."

If she is on the list, she can say that the dating show will have to be postponed (or shelved) because she is devoted full time to DWTS. That way, she wouldn't look like she has egg all over her face when no network picks up the show.

Good timing. Someone did her homework in planning the release of the dating show story.

Call Me Crazy why should the "high school" be punished and not the exact people who saw it, let him use the facility, and anyone involved in the coverup. Joseph Miller was the wrestling coach that saw Sandusky with the first victim at Clinton County High school in what he viewed was inappropriate horsing around in a secluded room. So Joseph Miller should be punished, not the entire school. The rest of the school hadn't the first clue. Oh by the way ever heard of Joseph Miller? Probably not. He was just one of the dozens to see something and do NOTHING who has now morphed into the face of Joe Paterno who apparently represents them all. I find this problematic. But the other nobody Joe is not a good media story. Paterno is. And the first Joe actually SAW something, ironically.

I just don't understand this idea an entire student body should suffer for the wrongdoings of others. We don't do this in any other area. If a criminal commits a crime you punish the criminal, not his family or anyone who happened to go to his school or workplace who had nothing to do with it. Why it's acceptable to some, though certainly not to everyone, to punish the innocent is beyond me. That is not what our legal system or even IMO morals dictate. What does that teach kids really? To just do a clean sweep and not really be concerned with going after who ACTUALLY was involved in some form? To not be concerned with who bears what share of the responsibility and bring them to justice, but rather just find a face to represent the evil and go with it. In that sense I agree with Westbrooke the media spin is NOT serving these victims. This is not helping at all.

Seems like a lazy, PR way to just say wham bam there in one big punch we made sure we got everyone no worries anymore. Sort of like punishing all your kids when only one kid did the crime. Which is what so many have said they can't stand Kate does (globe peeling incident?? Grand Canyon??). Why punish everyone? Because they're all kids and must be guilty somehow?

The sad thing about this is only one person needed to have paid for these horrible acts: Sandusky. Had he simply been busted and busted hard the first time this ever happened, none of this ever would have happened. Instead he was let off, and human beings were given an opportunity to make certain choices and because of that opportunity everything changed and now it's become not just one responsible but several dozen.

Can someone give me a cliff notes version of the Jackson saga? All I hear are bits and pieces and I'm hopelessly confused! Is there some kind of elder abuse or undue influence going on? It kind of sounds like it.

&&&

I think they're linked, which is why it used to be a win-win situation. And I think still can be. Kids and fans have fun and team spirit is fun, this translates into sales which helps the school academically. Rinse and repeat. No one was supposed to molest little boys during all this.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

No Katie, MY world is worked up over the birth of a baby in our extended family (oh. You wouldnt know what that is.) 10lbs, 9oz; 24 inches long after 40 hours of labor, 36 of those hours were hard labor, 2 weeks overdue. In OUR world, we are so greatful that hospital allowed 4 people at the bedside at all times, husband, mother, best friend, and sister. Because I click on here and snark on you for 10 minutes a day for a giggle, does not mean my world is worked up over you.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Improbably Dreams I have to disagree it's an unholy alliance. In a perfect world college would just be free. But it can't be, it's incredibly expensive. You can raise tuition and get as much state funding as possible if you're public, but you still will have a shortfall. Most colleges close the gap with sports, others might rely on guest speakers or school cultural events. I don't see any of these things as inherently dirty in themselves.

For the most part, college sports go on all year round without any scandals. For the most part, it's a good activity for kids. I wouldn't hesitate to send any child I love to play child sports, not for a second. Schools will find a way to make money somehow. In the grand scheme of things, college sports is probably the most benign way to do it.

Don't let the media fool you about it. Scandals, while certainly horrendous, do not happen all that often. In fact Penn state has never been in trouble with the NCAA before. And as many have said, child molestation never had an impact on gaining an unfair advantage on the field, which is usually what NCAA sanctions are about. That is one reason this is being called unprecedented, the NCAA has taken a stand beyond the field (and they SHOULD I don't disagree, only take issue with one of their penalties, not the others). If anything all the guilt the people involved felt may have resulted in poorer coaching and unprecendented losses the past 10 years.

http://news.yahoo.com/katherine-jackson-attorney-meet-face-face-045150604.html

Previously Janet and a couple of the brothers tried to take the kids from their home, and apparently Janet slapped Paris who slapped her back- Janet was trying to take the girl's phone, as she was tweeting msgs accusing her uncles/aunts of abducting her grandmother and questioning her father's will. There was some other physical scuffle at the home. It also was made to seem that Katherine was ill and unfit to be guardian to the children- wasn't allowed to speak to the children/3wwas taken to Arizona to 'rest' for about 10 days. Now she is home but seems to be rehearsed on what to say to the media.

Stay tuned!

I have thought from the moment she canceled the cruise she was a lock for DWTS All-Stars, although I hope I am wrong about this. DWTS knows that she will bring drama, attitude, and bad behavior, which translates in to rating's gold.

The trainwreak factor is huge, and my thinking is DWTS wants to cash in on Kate's predictability. Kate does not mind being the butt of the joke simply because she does not get that she IS the joke. For her, this is another opportunity to prove to her children that anything is possible if you try hard enough! Gag.

Let,s hope that she did not make the cut at all, or secondly she is dependent on votes, but my gut tells me she is one of the All-Stars.

The case against Joe Paterno, Part Two | Power Line
www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/07/the-case-against-joe-paterno-part-two.php

My point is that NO CHILD should ever be hurt. My point was the media portrays that only a small number of children come on campus and were all abused and so it would be easy to spot. When Sandusky was cleared in 1998 and on the McQueary testimony charge, Sandusky was found innocent my point is -rush to judgement. They deserve their day in court. Subject matter evokes much emotion, not based in fact. Questions to think about -- if it was the band director - do we shut down the music department? Substitute science professor for Sandusky but still in the athletic showers, does that change anything? Because of the very rush, my points get misconstrued as a Paterno sympathizer, when in fact I don't want it fast, I want it right. And with what is coming out in fact, not emotion, there is a lot more work to be done. Westbrooke

Thanks, Once a viewer, for the link to the Jackson saga. First time I understand anything about this cheesy soap opera story line. Still: why is it that everytime I read about one of the Jackson family's neverending dramas do I always think of the Keystone Cops? Sometimes it is funny to watch as all the family members keep bumping into each other trying desperately to achieve a task... that's never that clear to begin with. But this time, this whole mess revolves around the well-being of children, so it's just completely pathetic. Reminds me of a certain somebody...

Yep, if you try hard enough you can alienate all your family and friends, you can exploit your kids so you don't have to actually work for a living and you can grift your way into a much bigger house than you need.

Kate's also proving that if you try hard enough you can stay semi-relevant by embarrassing yourself publicly with social media.

Really Kate, the "world is sure all worked up about it"? You really believe that don't you?

How tragically delusional of you.

I'd laugh but you've got eight kids who need a mother who's more interested in them than she is in starting/perpetuating/fake denying stupid rumours about absolutely nothing.

The opportunities you've squandered by being an over inflated, ego driven, control freak of a fame whore are mind boggling.

If only you possessed the tiniest amount of self-reflection, you might have an empire by now. But what have actually got? A twitter account and a blog you neglect. (Oh, right, and those pesky kids of yours who are just exhausting and you need rescuing from.)

I second your Bitch please, AuntieAnn!
It's a little odd how Kate sees the reaction to her (planted by Jamie) news as the world being "worked up, but what's new ya know?" I would call the reaction revulsion, ridicule, condemnation, fodder for late night hosts and general mockery. Even a die-hard sheeple said it was beneath her.

She is right about the "what's new?" part. One mention of Kate Gosselin and her quest to be famous and rich without working, while claiming to be a beacon of motherhood while running away from her kids as fast as she can, never fails to bring on the LOLZ when she is mentioned.

She has failed to get an entertainment job of any type since the show was canceled. Planting this fake story was a desperate attempt to provoke a positive reaction and show reality producers that there's an interest. It backfired. BIG time.

Now here is a show I would watch, faithfully. Kate Gosselin buys a clue and goes back to being a registered nurse. Camera crews follow as she tries to care for patients while placing trash bags on them to protect herself from germs and mess. See her try to do her new job with her circa 2004 1/2in. acrylic nails. Watch her run to the tanning salon on her lunch hour while she drives and eats a bag of lettuce at the same time. Witness the drama as she speaks to her supervisor about needing to have off two days every six weeks to go to NYC Ted Gibson salon to get the straw fried. Ratings gold, I tell ya!

Dwindle, congratulations on the new baby! That is one big baby, Mom is my new hero!! Blessings to all!

Call Me Crazy said...

Hi Admin. This will be my last comment about Penn State, then I will move on.

In a previous post, I very specifically said that if the “high school,” meaning those who are in charge and hold the power to make decisions on behalf of the school, is aware of or allows such behaviors (tacitly or actively), then sanctions or punishments must be forthcoming. Yes, you are correct when you say that many people who are completely innocent and uninvolved in a situation will be affected. And yes, that is terribly unfortunate. But administrators are hired to represent the school and are entrusted with its care. When they do not do their jobs in regard to very serious offenses (such as child abuse), then the entire school will suffer, be it right or wrong.

Entire countries have been sanctioned in order to punish the decisions and actions of their leaders. In these cases, millions of people who are innocent of any wrongdoing are caught in the crossfire when economic sanctions are placed upon their country. But it is one method of pressuring those in power to stop harmful or inhumane behavior.

I also want to be very clear that I believe that anyone who saw or knew of any abuses against children and didn’t say or do anything, or enough, to stop it should be held accountable, whether that person is Joseph Miller, or Joe the Janitor, or Joe Paterno, or Joe Schmo.

In the end, I hope there will be much good that comes of the Penn State scandal.

I have found all the discussion and differing opinions here about the Penn State issue very interesting. Thank you for giving us a forum to speak about other serious issues in addition to those associated with the grand queen of exploitation.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Call Me Crazy, for starters I love talking with you about this because of how respectful and well thought out your present your points.

As far as sanctioning countries, I think that's apples and oranges. It's quite another matter to sanction children and young people. To me it's especially heinous to impose such strong sanctions on young people just trying to get an education and possibly kickstart a professional career. I would absolutely, unequivocally be against sanctioning freaking HIGH SCHOOL students for the acts of administration that did not involve the students or create an unfair advantage on the play field. Sanction the people who did wrong, not the students. I can't even begin to imagine what that would teach a high school student, other than to make sure everyone suffers when something goes wrong--not compassionate or just IMO.

I agree with you that everyone should be held accountable. Unfortunately the wrestling coach, the board of Second Mile and the janitors, to name a few, are not being punished for their lack of response. People say oh it's just lowly people afraid for their jobs, but what kind of excuse is that when a child is being abused? If you're going to excuse someone just because they had to protect their minimum wage job, then Paterno should be excused for trying to protect the football program. Both are arguably worthy causes. But of course Paterno should not be excused and neither should anyone else. That is no excuse at all. If a good man would lay his life down for another, surely a good man would lay his job down for a child.

I think this pill would be easier to swallow if all the other people involved were held accountable. What was done about Joe Miller anyway, or the janitors, or Second Mile? They all walked last I heard. Absolutely nothing was done.

I just cannot wrap my mind around, for example, Joe Miller seeing something inappropriate between Sandusky and a boy, and nothing happening to him, and yet some incoming class freshman who were 10 years old themselves when this all happened getting punished instead. This is not right.

I posted this before but I keep thinking about it. Here you have many workers at Coupon Cabin that don't have nearly the contacts that Kate has been privileged to have met over the years and yet they manage to raise money for their charities. They put Kate to shame. I bet CC expected (though not directly discussed) Kate to join in their charitable giving program and put forth some effort to contribute. Here is their header on website:
"CouponCabin employees are encouraged to make a difference in the community by aligning with a local charity to donate time, skills and CouponCabin grants. CouponCabin employees have partnered with a wide range of charities including those created to feed, clothe, educate and cure those in need. Currently, CouponCabin employees engage in one-on-one tutoring and mentorship programs, serve as board members, volunteer their time and skills on a regular basis and spearhead additional fundraising initiatives. Take a look below for a list of the charities the CouponCabin employees sponsor along with an explanation of why they’ve aligned with that particular charity."

You can read about each employee's charities specifics and how much each employee has raised. Just go to their website and at the bottom of the page click on Charitable Giving. Keep in mind more than likely all these employees are full-time--not the one-hour employee like Kate. Think how Kate could have mentioned her CC charity during her TV interviews. Her sheeple would have helped her greatly. You know her co-workers take notice too of her laziness.

@MissNikkiNeko @belle379 @Kateplusmy8 Plenty of working moms that see their kids. Plus, Khate's kids have longer school days- 5 hr bus ride

++++++++++++++

This bus ride keeps getting longer as the months go by! It's 45 minutes one way; an hour and a half a day, two hours max. By the end of the year it might grow to 10 hours in school each day, plus a ten hour bus ride!
