What a wonderful job for Jon. He's affable, engaging, intelligent, and athletic. He's knowledgeable about technology and about sports. That job should play into all his strengths. Now we know what the networking and "getting his face out there" was all about. KK must be ecstatic too, because it will likely mean an increase in child support.

Kate is a Witch said...

I doubt she was with the kids today. No tweeting.

Good for Jon with the new job!

Since I'm not sure how to take the correction in #168 re: CC being in the Chicago suburbs, I offer this from Wikipedia.

Whiting is a city located in the Chicago Metropolitan Area in Lake County, Indiana, which was founded in 1889. The city is located on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. It is roughly 16 miles from the Chicago Loop and two miles from Chicago's South Side.

If it's not a suburb of Chicago then it's the next best thing. 2 miles from the southern edge of the city? I'd call that a suburb, even if it's not officially one. Sheesh.

I think Kate looked quite good in that video. I liked her hair for once. I don't get why people keep saying she has extensions. That was a long time ago that she had them.

The reason her teeth look big is because of all the weight she has lost. She is still despicable though. I really can't stand that these shows keep giving this dope air time. I am convinced that her looks keep her on TV. IMO, Kate is attractive and now that she has gone all Hollywood, her looks are what is keeping her relevant.

Here is how I would have conducted that Insider interview in San Diego.

Me: Congratulations on your half-marathon, why did you do a half after running a full marathon in Las Vegas?

Kate: Um, Well, being a single mother of 8, I just didn't have the time to keep up the training.

Me: Uh-huh, so why didn't you wait and run a marathon later this year?

Kate: Honestly, my fans really were cheering me on, so I thought, rather than let them down, I would fly to San Diego and run a half for them to show them what moms' can do!

Me: A lot of people think you flew here to have time away from your kids and to share a room with your so-called bodyguard.

Kate: Ummmm, as you know, I need to travel with my bodyguard in case we get another television show. My kids love Steve, so it it just a sacrifice I am willing to make for them by keeping him employed. Also, it shows my kids that I am doing everything I can to get them their show back, For me, it's always about the kids, so ummm, Steve is just a part of that.

Me: Uh-huh....Everyone seems to think you really hate Jon and that you are not over him and the proof is you seem to continually throw him under the bus.

Kate: Oh, that is not true, I just want PEACE for the sake of my children. Jon is doing much better and you can see it in the kids.

Me: The word is that you are a difficult, narcissist b**ch and impossible to work with. The rumor is you are a blacklisted diva, but because your are a mother of 8 you get a free ride on any hard questions from the press, how do you respond to that?

Kate: My kids really miss the travel, opportunities and the crew, so we'll see what happens. (cue the toothy dead-eyed grin)

Me: Thank you Kate and good luck with your 5K in Chicago, sorry we don't have time to hear why you decided to cancel your cruise. Have a great summer with your 8 kids!

Me: (to the camera) Apparently, we will always be left wondering who REALLY misses their reality show, but my guess is that it's Kate. Good night.

*********************************************************************************************

I watched the Insider interview and whenever I see split-screen shots I wonder if the two people were even in the same room. I think this one was dialed-in as they say. No matter who was where, it was the same old, same old with a tad less aire of desperation on Kate's part. Someone told her to take it down a notch I think. And her hair has been lightened a few shades since the TODAY show interview. If hair can be annoying, her hair was in this interview.

Wowser said...

Omg! Why did I just watch her interview?!? She makes me want to rip her hair out..she goes "awn and awn and awn" about all the things the miss "doe-ing". Does anyone else notice that she rambles on and on with disjointed fragmented sentences that make no sense at all? My God, she just told the world that she can't date because she isn't "the norm" which in kates's terms means she's such a "stah" that she is soon above all the mediocre joes....I think it means she's boinking the bodyguard and has no interest in everyone else. She was probable silent today because after her longish trip with PB, she woke up with a yeast infection and spent all day at the Gyno and getting prescriptions filled

Kate's verbal vomit translated: I am desperate enough to do ANYTHING as long as it's on tv...I have to stay on tv! Please please please give me anything on tv! My kids want to go on trips...they KNOW they will never get to do anything fun or EVER go on another trip if I have to pay for it so please put us back on tv. My 2 fans keep asking what we are doing so please pay me a huge salary to do nothing but treat people like shit, and send my kids on free trips. I will even throw a bone to Jon so he will agree to let us go back on tv. I will never date a mediocre man...I am too good for that. Please please please put me back on tv. I need to be paid more than the mediocre people and I need to get better deals and pay less than the mediocre people with Qpons! Hire me dammit!

I have one question: When did 5k's turn into a "mini-marathons"? I have never heard them referred to in that manner. Holy cow, it's just a 3.1 mile distance, no biggie!
Also in this latest video interview and in other recent ones it seems like Kate has what looks like a white ring around her mouth, as though she sits in the tanning booth with one of those oxygen masks on her face, while her cheeks are a ruddy red color. Could she be developing rosacea in her middle age?

Fidosmommy: Wiki is wrong. Whiting, Indiana is in Indiana, another state, not Illinois. I have a friend who lives in Whiting, and she never says it is a suburb of Chicago. Whiting is 15 miles from downtown Chicago. I don't see how you can call it a suburb of Chicago. It's a very small city. To get there it is best to take Lake Shore Drive south, the area right around and before, there is not a good place to be, even in the daylight.
They refer to a raceway in one of the Chicago suburbs, that is in Illinois as Chicago raceway, it's not even near Chicago, I'm sure the people who live there were not happy about the name.

It's like calling Santa Monica a part of LA, when it is a city of it's own.

Sorry to make a thing about this, but Whiting is in another state. To be a suburb of Chicago, the city would have to be in the same state. Cause if we say that Whiting is a suburb of Chicago, Il, then people in Whiting, could say Chicago is a suburb of Whiting, or any little town or city that surrounds Chicago, can say that. It would sound goofy. And no I am not angry.

I want to say something about Kate's looks. Women who are natural pretty without all the work I would consider attractive! The first time I saw Kate was that episode where they were shopping for the Christmas and she kept yelling at Jon .

She was chubby, frumpy , had really bad skin and yellow teeth! By the next episode she had some work, lost wait and blue contact lens! That's the real Kate!!!
I f she wants to spend her kids money that's her business not mine! But for some reason she has become a role model for young girls, and that pisst me off to no end!!! I taught young girls from K-5 and I always would encourage them to work hard and they could reach their goals! To be proud of who they were and what they could become! What a horrible role model she is, a lazy woman who uses her children to make money for her!

The least she can do when she gets a compliment is say thanks but do you know how many hours I spent at the dentist to get this smile so young girls that don't have her money don't feel inferior.

I disagree with people that say she is done. She has become addicted to the good life and will fight tooth and nails to keep it.

Ms Kreider is still boring.
Want a fun read which is not boring? Check out anything by Tim Dorsey. His novels chronicle the adventures of Serge Storms as he travels around his beloved Florida, committing mayhem against various lowlifes. The novels are full of fun facts about the Sunshine State and fractured wisdom from Serge, one of the most fascinating characters I have ever read about. Right more I am reading his most recent novel, Pineapple Grenade. I am learning all sorts of Florida fun facts like Stiltsville in Biscayne Bay, parts of three James Bond movies were filmed in Miami, and Miami has more consulates than any other city on the US except WashingtonDC. I love the titles of the novels too. Electric Barracuda, Gator A-Go-Go, Nuclear Jellyfish, Atomic Lobster are some of the most recent. It makes me want to go on a Serge Storms Fugitive Tour of Florida!

Why anyone would 'contratulate' Jon on getting a job leaves me baffled.

This is a guy who had tons of $ profiting off his own children. That he lost it all is his, and his ex-wife's, fault.

It's about bloody time he got a freakin' job. Now if his hateful ex wife would do the same.

Yeah, his wife was a bitch beyond all. I still don't get the Jon love. To each his own, I guess.

I agree with the original post that she wears clip-on extensions for public appearances and pictures. Deanna's website includes this in her list of services. You can tell how thin her hair is when she puts her hair back.

She embarrasses herself said...

Saw the on line interview with the Insider. The interviewer just sat there as Kate rattled on. Doesn't take a interview much to start a question and Kate takes over but she has terrible grammar when she speaks. Hasn't anyone told her this? Steve? TLC really dropped the ball. Kate is a born and bred farmer when she speaks. She repeats herself, no clarity. Annililates the English language. The interviewer, whose name I do not know, but she was stilted as though "no sense trying to ask her about anything else, she will just talk about 3 things".Do you really have to explain what a coupon is today? I don't think so.

Ex Nurse said...

Here is another great quote from the insider interview: ""I enjoy a life that's always very vastly different every day."

Dwindle said...

I wonder if the video of the interview has been pulled? It wont load... As far as the white marks around her mouth, it is almost as if she got her upper lip waxed and it pulled off her tan. OR she tanned too much with too much hair on her upper lip and once it was finally waxed, the skin underneath the mustache hadnt tanned. And I agree with other posters, the hair looks fake.

But whatever. What struck me from the written account of the interview is that whenever someone mentions 'another reality show' she immediatly jumps right to the 'trips' and 'traveling'. Does she think that is all there is to television? Has she had other offers but declined them because they arent travel shows? What if cameras wanted to follow her around inside her house and film her screeching and cleaning - would she turn it down if it didnt involve hooker clothing and weekly vacations? I mean, since the kids miss The Crew and all... With or without the kids, is her obsession merely for someone to pay her to vacation?

Let'sthrowtomatoes said...

I just got back from watching Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp! I liked it!
Got to get to bed but wanted to say:
Mouse: not the extensions she got in that hotel room a couple of years ago
I actually didn't like those they looked cheap! I'm talking about the one at
The insider interview! There's no way her hair grew that long and thick from her
Charity keynote speech last month!
Colored contacts she has had blue ,hazel and green eyes ! Look at film and
picttures!

Fixed.eye, I have a friend who had it done it didn't stay exactly the same size
But big difference! She didn't like it because when she slept it stayed a little
open. I think Kate had it done after d w t s when she thought she was going to Hollywood ! Her eye looked red and swollen! Boobs what can you say except yucky!! And I forgot the tummy tuck on the list! Someone paid for that!
Why did I make the list because Chefsummer asked because I loved my career
In teaching but I also love fashion and have always kept with it!
But most of all does she think we're stupid and see at beginning and now she is all fake! I don't have to live by her to know that! I'm tired got to go to sleep! Have a nice night or morning or day mouse!

SaraMRN2010 said...

Interesting interview with her. In the very first episode of Jon and Kate plus 8 Shopping for eight, she clearly says that when the twins were little she never looked at sales items or used coupons. Yet on the this video she says that she has always used coupons. I guess we can chalk that one up to another lie.
I also remember on one of the episodes her saying that Mady and Cara never knew what "hand-me-downs" were until the babies were born. She said that they also had the best of the best and always wore "the right clothes" whatever that means in Kate speak.

Dmasy said...

Kate seems to believe in "Ask and you shall receive." She keeps asking.

She wants cameras back in their lives so she can be a financially secure stay at home mom. The children miss traveling and opportunities. Fans are clamoring for updates and birthday parties.

I guess she thinks that if she repeats this mantra, a lightbulb will go off in the mind of some producer. Let's give Kate a job!

wowser said...

I think Kate was on twitter silence yesterday because she was soooo exhaustedish from her 5 days with PB and then after the not-a-nanny got the kids up and out to clean the chicken coop, she woke up with a yeast infection from too much skeeve-and-I-are-just-friends romping and had to go to the gyno and get all her prescriptions filled.

TLC stinks said...

I watched the interview. First, she has clearly had Botox on her face. Those frown wrinkles between her brows are gone and no folds between cheeks and mouth. Second, this was filmed at her hotel. Anyone recognize it?

Ahh, but the biggie. When asked about dating and meeting someone, check it out.
See how her eyes glance over to her left twice and she grins. OBVIOUSLY, Steve is standing off to her left. She gives herself away by glancing in his direction. why look at Steve, Kate, when asked about meeting someone? It's because you already have. Your shifty eyes gave it away.

Barb and PJs Mom, I do feel for you with the plantar fasciitis! I had it about ten years ago, it was extremely painful for about three months, then gradually got better over six months. It is difficult to understand how painful it is until you actually have it! I never ever wear heels since then, and wear good supportive shoes at work all the time. Changing my shoes helped me eventually get over the problem I believe

Add me to the list of those who believe the hair is fake. Looks too thick and healthy..no way did all that hair fit into that tiny ponytail last weekend.
I agree with Dwindle#24, her translation of working on tv always translates into trips and traveling.
Joy in Virginia #20, thanks for the author suggestion. Have you read Bill Bryson? I've read most of his stuff, but the funniest by far was "A Walk in the Woods"...a hilarious and factoid-filled account of walking the Appalachian Trail.

eww...I just watched the online clip..she seems to be in hyper-drive panic mode in putting herself out there for another tv show. Smacked of desperation, imo.
Her speaking skills are still atrocious, still regurgitating the same mantra. (stay at home mom, coupons, kids love and miss filming, etc). She said she would do ANYTHING (sounded like something Octomom says, too).
If by some miracle she is offered a show I hope Jon legally squashes that idea.
And her constant harping on finding peace with Jon, kids are 'getting there' is enough to make anyone reach for a vomit bucket.
The whole thing just reeked of desperation.
If she has enough money in the bank, doesn't matter...what she WANTS is a tv show, trips and traveling...and if she doesn't get it, she loses. As my kids say 'sucks to suck'.
;)

OH yes I forgot those so let's put a list what Kate got the kids and where they went since the show ended.

1. I'm sure cheap hair cuts after the show-(while mommy went to NY for her hair)
2.Lame discount Halloween candy.
3. Cold lunch and cold trip to a park-(while mommy ran)
4. No vacation for the 8
5. No trick or treating for the 8
6. No where for spring break unless you count a cold basement.
7. Easter egg hut-(so mommu could sell pic)
8. No trip for their b-day's-(but mommy got one w/Steve).

So I can see why the kids would miss vacations they don't go anywhere.

aggiemom09121416 said...

Watched the clip a second time (I'm a closet masochist, lol).
She sounds like a record that skips...repeat repeat repeat...etc.

She really needs to learn how to maintain eye contact while speaking! Her constant movement (shifting left to right, looking up,etc) is very distracting and gives the appearance of being unprepared and nervous.

Someone upthread mentioned she 'looked good'. Well, enough money can make ANYONE look good. Kate, it hasn't escaped anyone's attention that the lion's share of wealth is spent on you and your needs, while your children run around in too big clothing...and how's that orthodontic work with the kids coming along? I don't see any of the kids sporting any new gear)

In her coupon topic, I counted 5 um's.
Talking about the old show, there were 5 um's. Talking about her enjoying her life being different, etc, there was only one.
Doing another show? 5 um's.
Jon? 5 um's.
one um I don't remember what it was related to, and then lastly, one um when talking about dating.

I just can't imagine WHY she thinks strangers have a right to see her kid's birthday parties. She is crazy as a loon. I hardly think 1,000's of people bombarded her with bday requests...more like, what, 20? 30?

Kate is a Witch said...

TLC Stinks: I caught that, too. The only time in the interview she looked off camera and got a big shit-eating grin, obviously looking at someone we can't see, was when she was asked about dating.

So my question is don't the interviewers notice this? I'm sure they think a Z list has-been traveling with a bodyguard is strange, like anyone would. So are they told to ask about her dating, or what?

She's not fooling anyone, that's for sure. But she sure thinks she is.

Ex Nurse - that quote should be framed and immortalized in a time capsule for all of mankind as what we should strive not to be.

Funny a mom of 8 should speak those words aloud when with kids any professional in the world will say it is about routine, routine, routine. In fact it is such a given that it is all but common knowledge.

Being a parent of a special needs child those were the first words said to me when seeking professional help. I think all kids are special needs especially those kids. Their life has been a roller coast ride of ups and downs.

I am not saying never deviate as family vacations and trips are part of a routine. But those kids were put on a plane and kept in the dark about where they were even going. They never knew from one minute to the next if they were going to wake up in their own beds or even go to school or yet fly halfway around the world on any given day.

As I say to my son routine is what makes the world we live in functional.

And the plot thickens the more she opens her mouth. She is getting "more worser" by the moment.

Anyone else given that shot would at least jump and down or do some deep breathing, or something, to get some life into them. The camera doesn't lie. I also saw the coy look off camera. If this is the Game Face site, I don't see any evidence of Jon's brother being a principal in the company. I suppose he might be a silent partner, but kinda doubt it.

This looks like an an incredible facility - it even has sports camps for kids beginning at 8 years old. Hopefully, his children will be able to attend! And if his brother does work there, so what? I doubt they'd hire Jon if he weren't qualified - salaries and benefits don't come cheap.

The "single mom" crap makes me want to throw up.

She was lazy, didn't believe she could ever be fired and acted like a bitch. Her cushy job is a thing of the past and the sooner she accepts that the sooner she will be willing to seek employment befitting her true value.

I hear McDonalds is hiring. But she lacks the somewhat pleasant disposition they require.

I got to tell you guys with the eye darts to Steve when asked about dating, this has confirmed to me that those two have been having an ongoing affair. The signs have been there all along because Kate cannot keep her emotions in check. She and Steve are incredibly sneaky because it's about her image. People will go to great lengths to hide an affair as I found out when a close friend was outed because she got sloppy and overconfident nobody knew what was going on. And nobody did for years. It was a shock. Now I am such a skeptic. Yep. Her eyes gave them away. Big scandal for her if someone gets proof.

Well, good luck to Jon. He job-hops a lot,but I guess that's what happens sometimes these days.

Re: Kate. Her life is 'vastly different' each day? Wasn't she the one who says routine is so important (it is, with flexibility of course, with kids) and clapped in Jon's face that time when he assembled 8 beds by himself, that they never could skip nap time...but I guess little trips away for her own pursuits are what she means..

So I can see why the kids would miss vacations they don't go anywhere.

=============

They might miss vacations because of the entitlement thing. Haven't they gone more places in their seven or eight years than many people have gone in a lifetime? Why do they need to constantly go somewhere? I would think that they may enjoy not being dragged around through airports. Isn't one summer vacation enough? Kids look forward all year to their summer vacation, whether it's to Disney, to the beach, to the mountains. Why wouldn't that be enough for them?

Yes, I know that Kate goes here and there on their dime and that's wrong, but I really wonder if they are not glad that she is out of their hair and they can stay home and just be kids without being put on display. The best thing for them this summer would be camp for a week or so, but that's not going to happen. The twins, especially, would love a horseback riding camp. I'm not sure if the expense is the real issue, as she claims, although that may be part of it. I think it's the security concerns, plus the fact that someone else would be in control. She can't relinquish that. Then again, she does leave them with nannies and the nannies have to be paid, so I'm not sure why she refuses to let them go to camp.

Gift of grab said...

Jane (43), I agree with your hope that the kids will get some benefit out of it. Maybe the chance to be normal kids with other normal kids. It looks like this is close by, too, only 12 or 13 miles from the childrens' home. So not a biggie in terms of the schlepping. In the light of this sort of job, Jon's "networking" attempts in the past couple of months (well, except for that TV interview with the new GF) seem like the smart move. A LOT smarter than anything Katie's done in recent memory.

What would I do if I had a leak in the barn?
1. Turn water off to barn.
2. Call plumber.
Crisis averted! Oh wait, this is Kate. Maybe she's got to wait until friends come over for dinner so that they can fix it for her.

Summerwind (46), think about this. In the 7 or 8 months from May 2010 through January 2011, these kids went to Alaska, NYC, Philadelphia, and Australia/NZ (am I missing anything?). All of these trips involved multiple days (in some cases, weeks) away from home and non-stop filming. During this period is when 2 of the 6 went off the rails in school. I really can't believe that the children are begging to go back to this kind of life. The reason Kate loves it so much is that when she was "on the road," there were multiple hands being PAID to look after her kids. Yes, her days could be "vastly different" because her responsibilities were almost nil.

Suck it up, Kate: You birthed 'em, YOU take care of 'em.

@PJ...oh my gosh, I can never again look at Hostess snowball the same way again!

Maybe I'm slow here but I still have yet to hear Kate's explanation of how forking over money to run in different states is going to lead to an eventual job. You know, a job to support her kids that she yaps on and on about how expensive they are and how exhausted she is of taking care of them? I feel she whines more than her kids do about things. I thought she was supposed to be the mommy not the child. Sad really.

Her hair does look nice on that video, but those are extensions in her hair. The pic of her on her website was taken in April, let's say, and her hair would not grow that fast in 2 months. So she did have another very expensive hair appt while in Ca. I think the only fans that will run with her in Chicago will be any fans that will already be there or fans that live in Chicago and decide to pay 45 bucks for a 3 mile walk in hot and humid Chicago. Can't see anyone rich enough or dumb enough to pay travel expense to run/walk with Kate. Now I'm going to get off this site for awhile cos my dull, mediocre life is calling me. i.e. dogs left me a present in my laundry room. I love this site.

__________

She's doing damage control before the Gosselin book comes out. She's actually talking "nicely" about Jon (in Kate-speak), saying the kids weren't harmed by filming, playing up the fact that she is single and has been single, etc.

It's all proactive moves before the s--t really hits the fan.

I thought the 'l' in the 'sol!" was initially another exclamation point, which inferred 'someone', but if the 'l' is correct, then who knows?lol
(yea, I thought turning off the water was a given, but Kate wouldn't know where the water valve was)

Maybe she slept all day, 'dreamed all day abt it' (running), woke up to the twins telling her the boys reported a water leak while taking care of the chickens..(twins would have to tell her, since I am sure no one else is given admittance to the queen's chambers while she sleeps).
I've never seen Steve give off an affair vibe when around Kate, but she sure thinks he is all that and a bag of chips. But the clues are all there...Jon was suspicious of it years ago, and who better to suspect something is going on? Steve's been the one and only constant in her life for years. If he is doing her, it's only a booty call, I just can't see this guy marrying her due to all those kids. He's never shown one genuine affection for the kids, only appears to tolerate them. (Well, so does Kate, so they are two peas in a pod, lol).
I don't see what she sees in him, he seems in appearance and voice effeminate and distant.

Summerwind, yes you're right! Disney for the 6th b'day in May 2010. And you are probably correct about BHI that summer. (I was not a regular viewer of this show, so I don't know for certain). I do recall end of that August was her Emmy "appearance," and her kids were already back in school then.

THINK about that. In 8 months, probably 2+ months (in terms of # of days) living AWAY from their home and out of suitcases, kinda like nomads. That's a lot for young children. And that's what she wants to return them to. Though if she COULD find a way to "have all that" without the kids' involvement, I believe she'd do it in a heartbeat. Not even a fond look in the rearview mirror.

Re: Jon's new job - It may be his salary is very tiny and he'll earn most of his money through commission. It may also not have any benefits packages yet. It looks like a new business to me, but maybe a local knows better?

That consolidated list of traveling is outrageous...for children.

We know Kate is a mother who barks out orders and expects complete and immediate obedience.

That, in and of itself, is stressing for a child. Imagine what the trips were like? Crew members must have made "suggestions" as to where to stand, sit, wait or speak. Surrogate/helper mothers would have their own expectations and be making corrections. The places they visited added more rules to the mix.

Those young ones must have felt continual stress and uncertainty.

Kate reports that they are doing better now -- getting there. She and Jon are experiencing some peace.

She should explore the possibility that staying in one place, going to school on schedule, and predictable time with their father is what the kids needed.

She should be unwilling to upend their growing well being. Instead she is begging for a return to their chaos.

The length conversion between metric and imperial that comes close enough to be comparable is metres to yards. 1 metre = 1.09 yards. I only know this because I sew and sometimes use imperial patterns.

I know it's so easy to get confused. I grew up in the 70's right when we made the switch to metric. In grade two I learned imperial, in grade three is was metric. Talk about confusing a generation of kids.

Wayward, just 4 weeks ago we turned on the water in our cabin and the ancient (40 year old) hot water tank started spewing water. DH and I had to replace that too. It included digging a hole under the cabin to access the drain (which was plugged) fixing a secondary leak under the cabin, removing the bathroom sink, re-plumbing the hot water line and installing a new tank. All by ourselves - I did take a few pics to show my Sis-in-law, but did not put them on twitter or my blog!!
Get this! I DON'T even HAVE a blog!!! OMG!
In the future I will be sure to alert everyone to the penalty of severeness I subjected the tub. It was him who made the 40 year old tank leak - the toilet told me, and I believe that toilet as we just installed him 2 years ago, when his predecessor cracked one winter.

Having a summer place is not all it is cracked up to be - unless you are my sis-in-law, who does NOTHING to help - then it is quite relaxing.

I saw a podiatrist in April and I'm using the expensive inserts, stretching, and icing my foot with a frozen bottle of water. It's better but I hope that the night splint will be the final piece for me. I ordered one online yesterday. I'm also trying to loose some weight. Maybe I should be eating some of Kate's salads?! Steve: her boyfriend but don't think they liven together maybe that's why he tolerates her and keeps the romance alive! She has given so many glues I don't want to mention!

Wayward -- too funny. Thanks. It was harder than it should have been. The concrete floor had an old and seldom used drain. Hubby ran a hose from the leaking water heater to that drain. Within moments we knew that the drain was clogged -- but they were flooding moments! Ever tried to stop a crusty old water heater from pouring out it contents -- oh, yeah.

I ran across the driveway to the shop for the snake thing to work the clog out of the drain. Couldn't find it. More watery moments are passing in our basement. Hubby is wondering what is taking me so long.

Of course, the cardboard box containers for all the new equipment -- got soaked. Bottoms broke. Styrofoam peanuts tumbled onto the floor and floated in the water like cute little boats. Stop! Stop them from going down the slowly working drain.

Brooms. Squeegies, Shop Vac, and two people with soaking wet shoes. I don't think either one of us ever considered our situation a crisis or an emergency. (We have two new and quite cute, compact water heaters installed today!)

Kate, it is just real life....

Her excuse was so lame for someone who claims "failure is not an option".

3 Cheers for wayward!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!

In my adult life I have experienced the sudden and messy death of 2 hot water tanks, complete with 40 gallons of rusty water spewing all over your basement, your carpet, furnishings, drywall etc. The first one had the audacity to short circut my clothes dryer too.

One Christmas day, with a house full of people, the main drain to the house (the one that runs outside to the sewer) decided to block up, partly due to the horrid freeze, I think. Y'all should have seen me, HunnyBunny, and my adult children all going into Plan D trying to manage Christmas Day and not alert the guests. Yes, it meant the toilets were spewing sewage in the basement. We nearly killed ourselves later that night trying to snake it and clear it until we discovered the joy of Roto Rooter.

THESE are the things memories are made of; it's called life and you just sigh and get on with it. In Kate's case however, SHE HAS NOTHING ELSE. This is dramatic to her because she has nothing else taxing her brain, nothing else to write about. And she writes about it (badly badly oh so badly)because she has no one to talk to about it.

Dmasy said...

Dwindle -- I hope you laughed at my story, because I sure laughed at your Christmas day flooding adventure. We even said aloud yesterday that least sewage was not involved. Thanks for sharing with us.

Barb, I've had this stupid PF for over a year now and got it running. My first outside run of the year last year, on hills, and BOOM, plantar fasciitis in both feet. The left healed eventually but I don't think the right one ever will. I too did PT after several months (made it worse initially and HURT like HELL) and I have the splint (bought at Target, easy squeezy). PT consists of very painful massage and heat/electric treatment. What you can do to help yourself, besides the splint and water bottle, is to do calf stretches several times a day.....the kind where you lean against the wall and project your foot behind you and flatten it to the floor. Tight calves contribute to this problem. Also, get a hard ball, like a tennis ball or golf ball, and roll it under the arch of your foot a couple times a day, for about 3 minutes. This is similar to the massage a therapist would provide. Or you could just massage the arch with the frozen water bottle. It really does help. Does yours hurt all the time? Mine did, but now it's mostly in the morning and after some strenuous activity, but nearly as bad as it did. Hope yours gets better too!

Shame that deep down, Kate hates nursing. She could have a solid, successful and satisfying career for life if she did.

Dwindle, I recently accompanied my friend to a court case, and all the attorneys had those briefcases with wheels to carry their stuff (including reams of paper) so it is probably a PERFECT gift for a new attorney.

Dwindle, my late husband was an attorney so I can offer some advice based on his preference. I would say get the briefcase but if you are getting a larger rolling one please make sure it has good locks on it. Hubby had one like that for busy court days and he like that it was easy to haul lots of paperwork but that it could be well secured. I think many attorneys have more than one briefcase that are used based on the days need.

Indeed I did laugh! I was picturing your husband watching the water obey the laws of nature while you searched 'hither thither and yon' for the snake and yet neither of you seemed to screech out "AARRGGHH!! WE'RE RUINED!!!" (or is that just for an icecream dribble on a sun dress? i forget...)

PJ's momma said...

koopedoo, just use a tennis ball or even a golf ball. You don't need that thing. You can freeze a water bottle and use that too. As long as you are massaging your arch with something hard and using plenty of pressure (about 3 minutes each time), that's all you need. I am not very good with the water bottle, a ball is much easier to maneuver. My dog just sits very close to my foot and stares when I do it, even though it's not her ball!

I have a new theory about Kate and Steve. Tell me what you think.

Kate flaps at TLC that the show's fans annoy her.
TLC hires Steve and tells him to get this wacko under control.
Steve flirts with Kate to build a trusting rapport so she will mind him.
Steve constantly praises Kate for having the brilliance to put one foot in front of the other and Kate falls head over heels.
Kate and Jon split up.
Steve continues the flirting and verbal expressions of devotion in order to keep her under control.
Kate puts pressure on Steve to leave his wife for her.
Steve gives her the old "She'll take me for all I have and besides that I must remain devoted to my children" married-man lines.
Steve continues to tell Kate he desires her like no other in order to keep her under control.
Kate begins yammering non-stop about dating and finding The Future Mr. Kate, thinking she is pressuring him to choose.
Kate visibly cuddles up and flirts with Steve in public to now cause further tension between Gina and Steve. No Nevah Means No to Kate.
Steve continues to play along because he has created a huge dependency in her and he will keep it up as long as he knows how much of the kids' money is left.
Steve is getting off on telling Kate how much he adores her but for the fact that he is married and cant get out of the marriage. At least until the paychecks dry up.

Lol, thanks you guys!

My downstairs toilet began running a few days ago (for real!) and after having a sit down at the kitchen table with the handle, the ball, the flap, the tank and the toilet seat- no one would fess up or rat each other out. Since I'm not on twatter nor do I have an amaturish and obscure website, I decided to wait for my long lost friends the Smiths to drop by to fix it!! I even had all the ingredients for pizza on hand so they could start rolling dough after fixing the toilet! (After using the proper hand sanitizing materials, of course)

But I've been waiting since Monday and this really needs to be fixed, so I'm heading out to Lowes to get a new handle. Since none of the other parts would fess up, Hubby thought the handle looked the most guilty ;)

P.S. Hey Kate... suck it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gift of Grab -- 96 Discovery Cove is in Orlando, I think. I typed my post after your first post but before the second, with the Disney mention, appeared. Confusing! At any rate, those poor kids were dragged from pillar to post for over a year, because they didn't slow down a whole lot in 2011, either. Just what a gang of kids, still reeling from their parents' nasty divorce, needs to regain their equilibrium. Mother of the Year, NOT!

I went to Gameface's website. Sounds like they have a lot of programs and teams for kids. I hope the 8 are able to take advantage of that, if they wish, and are allowed to pursue a sport of their choosing, instead of being forced to participate as a pack. I think the mention of Jon's brother in connection with Gameface was that he was involved with them (coaching a soccer team, maybe?), not that he owned or ran it. Don't quote me on that, though, because I'm not sure.

Dmasy -- if you enjoy light cozies, try Heather Webber's Taken By Surprise gardening series. They are fun, too. All but the last one are available as paperbacks as well as ebooks. Anyone who likes mysteries and is familiar with the Cincinnati area will enjoy those. They are set in a suburb of Cincinnati. If you enjoy cozies and love to talk books, come on over to the Amazon boards and find the cozy thread. We have a great bunch of, mostly, ladies, including a few authors, who participate regularly. We don't stick to books, either, but range widely on pets, kids, family, hobbies, jobs. Y'all would be welcome.

Dwindle -- I think a briefcase would be a very appropriate and thoughtful gift for your niece, unless someone else has already given her one. Why don't you check with her parents to see if she has one and if so, what else she might need? Another possibility might be a gift card to a store that caters to young professionals. If she's like most students, her current wardrobe runs to jeans and tee or sweatshirts, and she may need some new business attire.

Speaking of books, I just finished the last of his series, "Rama Revealed" by Arthur C. Clarke.

If you like science fiction, his books are fabulous:

- Rendezvous with Rama
- Rama II
- The Garden of Rama
- Rama Revealed

The series begins with the exploration of Rama, a space-going, seemingly deserted vessel. The writing is DETAILED, thus being a little "slow reading" but the writing absolutely held my attention.

The final in the series gives 'the answer'.

I do have to concede it's not what I'd call a quick summer read. Takes some attention to detail.

Full disclosure - I started reading Rama Revealed a few nights ago and stayed up ALL night until 6:30 in the morning. It's that good..... (hey, we're retired - no kids to ignore )

Loved it. Highly recommend!

Katie Kreider Gosselin is still paying a staff of managers, PR people that tell her she is still important. What a waste of money. At some point she should have realized the TV show thing was over and anything else she could have profited by is gone too, as no one likes her. Sheeple? I don't even know if half of them like her or think they know her, something like I got an e mail from her therefore I touched a celebrity? Ding Dong Crazy.

When Kate is no more I hope this web site is here and we can say how we feel still.

I do not like Reality TV that involves families with children. I don't think it should be on TV and used in family discourse like the New Jersey housewives and their small children. It is sad stuff. I know that one of the housewives was on Celebrity Apprentice and I like that show, but I could not watch her, Theresa? I just couldn't even believe she is likable. Her husband is abusive in front of his 4 daughters. It is sad stuff as these little girls grow up thinking it is okay to be diva like as her 10 yr old daughter is into.

Will be happy when all of it is off TV and I do not watch it, but happened upon on last Sunday night and was saddened by it. If adults want to put it all out there for the camera, then go for it.

Also the Kardashian family should not benefit by one more penny of anyone's money. How that family makes so much money is amazing to me. How that mother promotes everything whether nude photos or films of her daughters is so upsetting. But that is the way of the world now I guess.

Do any of you dispise the way of this TV channeling? I don't watch it, but when I am reading and they pop up on my computer well I want to scream.

Hope we get back to the days when we don't have to see what someone looks like without their panties on a bed with a man filming and then they become a celebrity such as Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton or any of these women who have no pride, no modesty, no standards and have the mothers who promote all of it.

Probably I sound too old, but some things I would rather my granddaughters and grandsons not see but they don't have to rent porn, it is on the TV and the public pays to watch it. None of these people are normal living normal lives, working jobs or getting educations with all of their money and some who went to college, still don't work, cause Mommy Kardashian has them on TV. How sad it all is.

How many mothers out there have said "If I had that kind of money, my kids would be getting their Master's Degrees and not have a loan to pay for, not I want my daughter making a porn film?"

Dmasy, when ARE you going to learn??!!

I would apologize for not addressing your misdeeds, but 1) I had to do my daily Target run (haha, I am so smart and funny!) and check their prices on label maker accessories! And 2), I don't apologize for anything!!

After I found everything I needed, I then had to block the paper-ish plate aisle, use my 45th pink iphone and check online prices! And what makes it really hard is that I have to use my Not an EM Tanner dry erase board to list all these prices and deduct coupons..that's where it gets tricky!

To be a Bearswife devotee, you must only pay for items with free gift cards and coupons, or use your kid's college savings!
And you must neva neva neva make eye contact with anyone that isn't a stah on a tv show.

If you are still interested in contacting bearswife, you MUST send me all your receipts from the past 6 months, and if you didn't save at least 89% on each receipt, consider yourself BLOCKED!
If you do meet all the criteria, you will be given access to Dwindle's email. And you better know how to help her, too!

Commenting on Jon's new job. Thinking back to school does anyone remember the graphs where one line is going up and the other line is going down and they intersect at some point? Let's call Jon the up line and Kate the down line. Kate has trashed Jon for the past two years (and continues to do so) yet Jon was legally silenced from saying anything. Kate continued on her merry way doing and saying whatever she wanted. Well, Kate got the short term gain with her approach but Jon is the one with (marathon) staying power to contribute to society. Okay, I'm probably overreaching by saying staying power because only time will tell on that one. But for my money, Kate is going down, down, down. It's Karma Time. I'll drink to that. Good luck Jon with your new job. As for Kate, she's now the outsider looking in.

People are living back the way it use to be before electricity. Imagine no computer, cars, trains, planes, phones TV, or light bulbs. Makes you go Hmmmm. How ever will we function. Even worse, they only showed Khate (in her eye darting glory) in the interview chair for about fifteen or twenty seconds in total as they flashed video and photos on the screen and talked over it, or aired some of Khate's blabbering. All in all, a big fat ZERO.

2weeks ago my husband flew out of town, I left for work 30 minutes later and than 30 min. After that my daughter got ready to leave for work...in the 30 min. Period between when I left and shot got ready to leave, a major water pipe burst in my kitchen ceiling. If it wasn't for thee fact that my kitty wasn't begging for her morning treat, my daughter would have left and would not have noticed it. My cat was over by the table looking up and down and up and down and my daughter thought that was weird til she noticed all the water on the floor. When she looked up, the ceiling was sagging down. My plumber said had she not noticed it and turned the water off, that when I had gotten home from work my upstairs would have been in my downstairs. My husband has been out of town for the past 5 weeks up to his eyeballs in work, I am working and my entire kitchen ceiling is wide open because ALL the pipes had to be replaced. Yes, it's a pain in the butt and it's messy and inconvenient...but it's NOT cancer, a broken marriage, or the end of the world like everything is to Kate. She has all freakin day to work on stuff and a staff to help her. Someday LIFE will show up to really bite her on her leathery orange ass and karma will be smiling. Yes, I am fed up with Reality TV, too. Storage was a great first season. I watched them all numerous times. They were just folks that owned Thrift Stores and such trying to fill the shelves. This season it is all about drama. They have pitted everyone against each other, Brandi and Jarrod are acting all strange. She is leading him around like a little puppy dog, and he is deferring to her at every level. Darrel is being mean to his son Brandon telling him to straighten up or ship out (and they are really close). Barry seems tense and a little angry, and just acting crazy, his puns are scripted now. They are bidding on boxes not rooms and the bidding is jumping up into the 1700 mark. They could care less. Oh Brandi and Jarrod (is that his name) have a brand new car. It is just a joke now.

I think they should get a new group in with every season and share the wealth, because we all know when the money starts flowing, it changes everything. Storage Wars was a great show, that has just turned in something silly, and unbelievable.

Oh and Dance Moms what a joke. The kids seem genuinely stressed and a little confused. The moms are sitting in the box looking like they spent hours getting ready to do just that. Abby has gone Bat**** crazy. Looks like she had an eye lift and a face peel. The kids have elaborate costumes and props but the choreography is not winning. She is pitting Mady against the other girls having Mady show them how it is done. I won't be able to watch it anymore because it looks like even the events are rigged.

Thank goodness Tori is coming on TLC. I really respect the fact that she came from so much money, literally born with a silver spoon in her mouth and works very hard and makes everything work. The Craft Wars should be interesting. Looks like TLC finally grew a brain.

And my last one....

If they mess up my Duck Dynasty, I am going to PO'd. I don't think Phil will allow it, because they don't need the money.

Okay here's my water story. Many (and I mean many) years ago I was staying on the 4th floor of a major hotel in Hawaii. If I said the name you'd probably recognize the hotel. The water was turned off at the main value due to some problem. Unfortunately as a guest I wasn't informed of the problem and turned the water knobs this way and that thinking I had turned them off. I left my room for the next 4-6 hours and returned to sopping wet floor. It turned out I had turned the water on full blast, flooding my room and the 3 floors below me. Management had me moved to another room right away, but, get this, the first view was of the ocean. After the flooding my view was of the dumpster. The next morning I stepped into the elevator and stood against the back wall. When I got to the 3rd floor another couple stepped in the elevator. The conversation went something like...if I ever find out who flooded out my room I'm going to give them a piece of my mind. Yikes! I remained silent all the way to the lobby. And that is my water tale.

Ok, had my laugh of the day. It seems that sherri Shepard had death threats, and rape threats on twitter, so Sherri called the police. Gee, I remember her saying on The View, that she was gonna burn down jon Gosselins house and do something to his car to cause an accident. I think Sherri should be held accountable for what she said, and that makes her a cyberbully to or held accountable for her threats. Just like Kate is. Neither one likes it when the tables are turned on them, Kate crys bully, when she relentlessly bullied Jon for 6 years and still bullied him till now, including the kids. I wonder what would happen if someone brought that up to sherri and reminded her of what she said on national TV, that makes her no better than the ones bullying her on twitter.

I had no idea when I made my comment this morning (@90) that it would spark so many discussions on Twitter for the good part of the day. When Sherri said she would burn the house down and blow up Jon's car, where was the outrage then? I don't recall that she apologized on The View or that it was ever mentioned again. Was the network sweeping it under the rug, or did it just chalk it up to another one of dumb Sherri's attempts at being funny, opening her mouth to make one of her stupid statements (in this case, though, a threat)?

Wow... Good for Jon!! !!!!!!

So excited-ish to hear of his NEW non-mediocre job as a 'Sports Marketing Director'. (Now I'll bet he and the kids can have a great time at the Beach this Summer with Liz & Co.) Hopefully financial freedom from Ms. Lonely NPD, and her rare box of vino. I think we've heard the last brick fall on this PIG's HOUSE! Soon the 6th Sheeple... the chosen one-- will utter its' final BAAAAAHHHH-H. (Shall it be Milo, Ziggy, CJ, Paige, Hispanic Elvis or Deanna Tweeting?)

Dwindle -- I hope you laughed at my story, because I sure laughed at your Christmas day flooding adventure. We even said aloud yesterday that least sewage was not involved. Thanks for sharing with us.

You know, we are laughing about this, but your statement says a lot about the difference between Kate and many of us. Most of us have perspective on what is important life. When unplanned events happen, we think--how lucky we are that ________ didn't happen. Some of us learn from our families and some of us learn by listening and paying attention to others.

When I was a young adult, I was extremely self-involved. Working on psychiatric and burn units changed me. No matter how bad a day I am having, it doesn't touch the enormous pain as someone who has 90% of their body burned, or the pain of a parent of a self-destructive child.

Kate seems to have floated through life, completely oblivious to the pain and needs of others. Whatever is happening to HER is not just the most important event, it is the only one.

So excited! My kids and I are running TOGETHER this weekend in a KIDSMARATHON run! Starting to pack! We are ready2run! http://www.kidsmarathonfoundation.org/

So this is a ROD DIXON production! Yay Kate! Are you paying your own way? Or is ROD picking up the tab for you, Steve, and the 8?

This ought to be interesting.

From the KidsFoundation site:

"Students will run their final mile on the track at Plumb Hill Playing Fields in Litchfield on June 9. Dixon will be there and will hand out T-shirts and medals to students after they cross the finish line. More than 300 Region 6 students are expected to participate."

So Kate is going to bring her 8 kids to run a mile with 300 children who have been involved in this program for 8 weeks and whose "mile" on Saturday finishes out a 26-mile (over 8 weeks) run for them. What? Kate was asked by one of her teen fans a little while ago on Twitter if she was going to be there (the teen was not specific about location). I wonder if Kate will be making this all about her, as usual.

What am I saying? OF COURSE Kate will make this all about her!

I heard it like this said...

"I'm so far behind

I'm ahead!"

Sounds like she has found a summer job for the kids. She is bound to get them in front of cameras again.

She must have hatched this up over the weekend. Her PR machine must really be earning its keep (she paying them in coupons?)
Guess the kids are back to work, and among the unwashed masses, too. That might be a tad dangerous. I hope she has a bodyguard for the kids, since I am sure Steve will be guarding Kate's ASSets.
My first thought concerning this tweet? She really hates being at home, doesn't she? If she hates it that much, she needs to unload that money pit.

"I don't care if you want to go to the beach or play sports or go to the movies or to the park or swim in the pool or go on a vacation...mommy likes to RUN and you are going to run too whether you like it or not. I have to keep my orange face out there for the fans! I have told everyone I want to be a stay at home working mom and you are going to run and cheer me me me on and tell everyone how proud you are of me and how your greatest aspiration is to be JUST like me. Now run dammit...just like you are suppose to be running with every chore I give you! God it must suck to be a gosselin child!

And I bet her kids (who did not put the effort into earning it) will still get a medal and shirt as some sort of honorary hogwash right? I know her kids wouldn't understand if they didn't get what all the other kids get because they have learned entitlement all their life just because they are the Gosselin 8.

So she gets to take her kids to CT to run A MILE and be the star attraction for kids who have paid to participate in this program? Oh, for Pete's sake.

It gets her and the kids some of that coveted media exposure, but does it get her a job? She pretty much admitted in that Insider interview she wants to be a work at home mom and expects it all to fall into her lap. What a joke.

I feel sorry for the poor nannies who will be accompanying her on this trip.

At least the kids are getting to leave the prison for a bit.

I haven't been able to read here for a whole week because I was in the hospital and for some reason their system thought there was porn content (???) and wouldn't let me access it! Now I'm in rehab (DYING without my cats) for god knows how long, but at least I'm back to reading.

I think I can catch up with this post, but I was wondering if someone could briefly summarize the discussion on the last two - would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Why should the kids be required to participate in Mommy's NPD activities? Stop the insanity during this downward spiral Kate, for the sake of your children.

As my Husband once said... Just relax, and let it happen!

About the "so!" could she actually have meant the shut off [valve}? I really hate to give her credit for knowing about it but it is possible she's picked up a little homeowner lingo during her time on the farm.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you are saying what goes around comes around. In this case, it seems that this idiom is true. Sherri threatened to burn the house down and blow up Jon's car. Now Sherri, a few years later, gets death threats and she doesn't like it. I wonder if it occured to her how Jon felt when she made that statement about him on television.

NO Kate, your kids are NOT ready to run!

I just visited Rod Dixon's KIDSMARATHON website and read about the school program leading up to this run. Various Conneticut school-kids have been part of a WEEKLY training program since APRIL preparing for this run.

Perhaps you can ask your kids to WALK a mile on short notice, but to throw them in to a one mile run is unfair and will prove very difficult for Kate's kids. They will be under a microscope orchestrated by their fame-mongering excuse of a mother.

These kids finally get to go somewhere, but will soon realize their own mother is going to throw all 8 under the bus to keep her perceived buzz going. I am disgusted, how can she continue to embarrass her own children in such a public way? She knows NO bounds.

She's determined that these kids work for a living. If anyone questions why this blog is still here this is why. Oh and depending on their custody agreement she may need Jon's permission or a judge to decide. Done that yet Kate?
