The gardening thread

By popular demand and because it's more interesting than Kate, I'm opening a gardening thread. Share tips, tricks, stories, whatever you want. Feel free to discuss anything else you want, it's not limited to gardening.

And for those who don't garden, you're wrong. You have a garden....in your mind. Check out this awesome viral video.

ROL has article up about Jon's people interview, he admits to the mistakes he made that led up to the divorce and to his bad choices made after. He says Kate is a good mother and that they are communicating better than ever now

*****

I thought Jon had already said all that. This sounds like a rehash to me.

When Ted does hair, personally, he charges more than the other stylists. He also gives a comped dinner or lunch for 2 to the client. Ted does not have a meal with his clients unless they spend $4 or 5 thou. Yes, you can spend that much here.

We have comps for 3 different restaurants. Kate requests the F & O Rest. She always travels with her B.G., the one man who insists on being in the dressing room with her. Very strange even here in NY.

She could spend less with a non name stylist but will not do that. If forced to be with a non name stylist, she does not talk or answer any questions but is not so nice. Usually her appt is with Ted but he can get called to a studio or station to work on someone for film/TVB and she gets her frost on big time, could make ice cubes out of the white wine she drinks with temperament of hers.

She did say her ex husband got a big job = big child support boost=getting hair done in NY more often.

The nice comments about Kate aren't disappointing, it's the apparent about-face on filming that is disappointing. The fact the kids are a bit older now doesn't make filming them any less offensive and potentially damaging to them. The fact that they "miss" filming shouldn't even be be a consideration. Kids want to do a lot of things that aren't good for them. I hope this story is not accurate. Of course, it is all moot if no one is interested in filming the kids. Without the Jon and Kate conflict, and the kids out of the cutie-pie stage, it's hard to imagine they are more marketable now than when the show was cancelled.

Mel said...

I don't see anything disappointing about Jon saying nice things about Kate.

True.
But I *am* disappointed that he's agreed to put the kids back on TV (if the ROL quote is correct).

Because they miss it? Is that a good reason?

You wouldn't let them play in the street because they miss it. You're the parent. You decide what's best, not them.

And letting them be on TV just to get a posh lifestyle for yourself, or them, just isn't right. They're too young to understand the ramifications.

Heck, Jon & Kate didn't understand the ramifications, and they were 23!

Admin-I thoroughly agree. I also agree about radaronline. I read the article at People.com and then the one at ROL. Of course, People doesn't have the FULL article posted, but it just seems like ROL spun it around to create more controversy.

At least Jon states "Kate's a great mom"-Kate instead said "Jon's trying to be a good dad".

To me it also shows that Jon thinks of his kids when he says anything regarding Kate-something she should learn how to do.

I would think that in the world of Show Business if DWTS wanted to get good advertising and interviews before the season, then send Kate out to be interviewed by everyone. It would be a hoot. Those people who work in that business never like each other. They pretend to like each other, they will do anything to be on TV, stay on TV and if that means fighting behind the scenes, well that is how they work. No doubt Kate would be asked to be on DWTS if it would hike the ratings. Plus she would not end up in the Dance Off Thing

I have always wondered why we, the audience, never, ever gets a number count of votes for each couple, don't you? So who knows who gets what votes. Not like we are watching the election voting. No one has to tell us anything and Kate was such a big, big joke last time that I bet she is taking dance lessons. Plus for fun why not put her with Max, he wouldn't take her prima donna crap. It would be wild. Of course Steve (the other friend who took pics of her and her friends dining out and the same friend who took pictures of her and her kids on the diving board, right?)would not stand a chance in hell with Max. Max goes nuts on people. It would be fun. It would not get Kate anywhere but LAUGHED AT.

The women has big feet with 6" white boat shoes with a mini, strapless dress my 13 yr old daughter would look "cute" in but not horse face Kate. In between her new BFFs she looked like Titty City and that was what was important to her. Why pose in the middle of the other 2 women like that? Steve stinks at posing/styling. Every frigging picture he takes of Kate and her ATMs they all have to show their teeth like "happier than a pig in poopy"..........sick stuff in Wernersville.

If these comments prove to be true, I'm with you, Randy. Jon is just proving to me that he shut up for so long because a judge made him.

That ridiculous interview with his new gf convinced me. He was just showing off for her, and the fact that she so readily went along with it tells me she is cut from the same cloth as Kate.

I will give Jon props for not throwing Kate under the bus no matter how often she does the same to him. It does paint him in a better light, and definitely puts him a rung higher on the class ladder, but only because Kate is down on the ground.

Boo I agree with you. Kids miss summer vacation too, it doesn't mean you don't send them to school again in the fall. Also what do they miss about filming they can't get elsewhere? Trips? Take the poor things somewhere. The crew? Help them make more friends. The fame and attention? Get them into community or school plays. This is just ridiculous and I hope he didn't say that or is just trying to appease Kate.

As a life long dog owner and lover, I am literally laughing out loud here! I have never had a bulldog, so I am just picturing my laziest, most laid back dog and multiplying that times 10! When our dogs go out the back door, they have to go down the steps of a small deck and 90% of the time we have to tell one of ours "Will you PLEASE git off that porch!" Then she seems to remember, oh yeah I guess I had better go down into the grass and try to do something or they might never let me back in. Big Sigh.

I don't like this quote from Jon but some how I knew that it would happen.
_______________

Radar Online

Jon, who once took Kate to court over having their children on TV, has since had a change of mind.

“They miss it. Now it’s different. They’re older. I want the best for them.”

Jon also hasn’t ruled out a return to showbiz either.

Regarding dogs getting "skunked"; it happened to our golden retriever years ago. I let him in the house after his last outing for the night (around 9:00 PM), and the odor was horrific! I quickly put Jake back outside and filled his bowl with fresh water. My husband (the tucker), didn't get home till around 11:00 and I told him what happened and that I didn't know what to do to get rid of the smell.

Since it was a nice summer evening, not hot and humid and no rain in sight, we left Jake outside all night. The next morning the hubs got up extra early, went to the store, and gave Jake 2 baths before he went to work. We have a fenced in backyard so we always left Jake outside during the day if the weather was nice, and we did it that day.

He got another bath that evening and we didn't let him in until he completely dried. To do so, I brought my blow dryer on the deck and put it on low to help dry Jake, but the hubs had to hold him because Jake wasn't crazy about that! I even sprayed him with my after shower body spray!

Needless to say, he smelled alot better than he did the day before.

Interview of Jon on eonline. Here's the link: http://www.eonline.com/news/kate_gosselin_gets_apologymdashfrom/324885

Here's the article:
Jon Gosselin wasn't the first to admit he's made some mistakes—but he has finally boarded the bandwagon.

Almost three years to the day since he and Kate Gosselin revealed to the world that divorce proceedings were underway, the former reality-TV star is looking to make amends with those he has hurt, starting with his ex-wife.

And, if that works out, maybe with TV audiences, as well.

MORE: Jon Gosselin $3,500 Behind in Child Support? Former Reality Dad Fires Back on Twitter

"I am sorry, because I did stuff I wouldn't want done to me," Jon tells People in a new interview.

Tabloid stories suggesting that Jon was cheating on Kate—quickly followed by rumors that Kate was more than friends with her bodyguard—first shook the Jon and Kate Plus 8 foundation back in 2009.

Both spouses, married since 1999, denied being unfaithful, but they filed for divorce on June 22, 2009.

In additional papers filed that September, Jon admitted to using "poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon."

"I was passive-aggressive," the 35-year-old divorcé now tells People in reference to the various things that led to the end of his marriage. "Then I'd get mad, but I was the one who wasn't communicating."

Jon, who dropped off the reality-TV scene when the show he once costarred on became Kate Plus 8, recently took a job as director of sales and promotions for Gameface International, a sports event and management firm. He's also dating a single mom, 27-year-old Liz Jannetta, according to People.

But while he shunned the spotlight for awhile and wanted his kids to do ths same (Kate won out on that one), guess what? He's willing to put himself out there again if the right opportunity comes along.

"I've been offered a lot of stuff," he says. "Crazy stuff. It wasn't the right fit, then or now. I don't want [my kids] thinking I take every show just to make a buck."

Jon took to Twitter in April to deny a report that he was $3,500 behind in child support payments, writing that the Pennsylvania Department of Child Welfare's website was just showing his amount due, and that he reliably pays up every month.

The kids miss filming. Still? I am going to go out on a limb here and say this if nobody minds:

The only reason these kids would even remotely miss filming is for two possible reasons. One, is because they miss the attention that went with it. And two, the only reason the kids even remotely still talk about it says to me that they don't have any other interests. Because if they did they probably would be more involved in that particular interest than still stating they miss filming.

I still hold to the fact that Kate may have some influence over their missing filming is because as kids, you see your parents go out and you as a kid can't wait to grow up and get to do that, or in this case her kids probably see Kate going out, that she gets attention from people, via Twitter. She probably still talks about a "possible new show," that it's something she would be open to.

I am going to say that you do not have to film to make your kids happy if it's something they enjoy. That you do not need to be in show business to have your kids be proud of you.

I have never heard a kid say to a parent that they were proud of them for doing something, like having a specific job because kids have their own world and they are more interested in that than whatever mommy or daddy are doing I am sure. As a kid I don't ever remember being proud of either of my parents for having whatever type of job because frankly I didn't care what they were doing.

Maybe that sounds harsh bu I am going to think the only reason the kids are still open to it is to please on or both parents. Give these kids another interest and I bet they would drop the whole, "we miss filming."

I also find it slightly creepy in a way that these kids, there interest would still be wishing to be filmed. I don't know it just sounds weird like if you were to ask a child, "What are you interested in, what do you like doing?" I can here the these kids say, "We like being filmed, we like being on television, we like going on trips." Just by now it sounds incredibly weird.

Jon and Kate opened that door. The thing about doors is, you can close them, I just do think that either parent is fully prepared to do so because they may still view it as a means to an end or something like that maybe.

I think it's sad that this entire family is still so wrapped up in filming their family life. They seriously would be willing to re-open that still partially open door and allow themselves to be filmed, to allow people watch their kids have meltdowns and drama just because they say the kids "miss it," is that what they miss? Having their emotions on display? You think by 11 and 8 years old they'd be embarrassed to have their friends see them having it out on television. I would.

Anonymous said...

Based only I what I have read on ROL, I'm afraid Jon and Kate are prepared to again put the children to work on TV to support them. Perhaps they will want to sell a new concept filming the children as they spend time with each parent. I hope I am wrong and will, as the Administer cautions, await the People article to read Jon's entire interview.

From People (Not ROL) --

"Three years after his headline-making, acrominious divorce, Jon Gosselin says he and Kate are getting along now – and he's sorry for the way he behaved post-split, he tells PEOPLE in a new interview.

"I am sorry, because I did stuff I wouldn't want done to me," he says, referring to the steady stream of women he dated after their split.

He also accepts his share of responsibility for the divorce. "I was passive-aggressive," he says. "Then I'd get mad, but I was the one who wasn't communicating."

Now, he says, times have changed.

"I'll call [Kate] up and say, 'Mady's sick. What do I do?' And she'll tell me," he says. "She's a great Mom. We just have different parenting styles."

Gosselin, 35, moved back to Berks County, Pa., in 2011 after two years of bouncing around the country. He recently took a new job as director of sales and promotions for Gameface Int. and started dating single mom Liz Jannetta, 27. Time – and therapy – has given him a different perspective on things, he says.

"I used to talk to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach (Michael Jackson's rabbi) a lot when I lived in New York," he says. "He said, 'There are two things you can do with your fame – sell out or take it and use it for good.' I didn't grasp that at the time."

Now he does. Which is why he says he'd consider a return to the entertainment world, but only for the right gig.

"I've been offered a lot of stuff," he says. "Crazy stuff. It wasn't the right fit, then or now. I don't want [my kids] thinking I take every show just to make a buck."

LoveMyGrandsons said...

You know, Kate and maybe even Jon, may want to put the kids on TV again. However, that doesn't mean it's going to happen. We already know that no other network has been interested in this so far, and since TLC cancelled the show, I don't believe they are interested in them either anymore.

Bottom line is the kids are just regular kids now and the "cute toddler" factor is gone, never to be come back. Therefore, I don't think that any network is interested in putting them back on TV, no matter what Kate or Jon may want.

Wowser said...

I am hoping Kate's appalling entitled attitude, rudeness to the industry in general and just downright horrible personality have left a big enough impact and that all doorways have been shut for any future shows or tv time of any kind. They can beg and wish all they want....if wishes were fishes, the sea wold be full of them. I think the are done...OVERdone!

LoveMyGrandsons said...

By the way, in the People article quoted above, Jon does not talk about putting the kids back on TV, just the possibility for himself.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The People excerpt doesn't say anything about him wanting to put the kids back on T.V. we'll have to see what the full one says. It's hard to tell what that quote means without knowing the question. He never said he'd put the kids back on T.V., he said they miss it and he wants what's best for them. "Now it's different, they're older" could just as easily be taken to mean that things are a lot different now that filming has stopped and they are really getting older. Heaven forbid it means they should film again because they are older. Come on, Jon, really? Your source whom you know said you are adamant you would never, ever put these kids on T.V. again. I hope that hasn't changed.

Of course I'd be horrified if he wanted the kids back on t.v.. But I also think this is a man who is in a good place with Kate now, has appeased her, has calmed her down, and because he knows full well there's no way these kids will ever get a show again, may just be trying not to rock the boat. Buttering her up, telling her she is a good mom, saying things to the tabs like he calls her first when the kids are sick, and that he would love to have the kids back on T.V., would appease Kate for months. How can she still alienate him when he is saying such nice things? The only one who looks like the tool now is Kate. You do what you have to do when you're dealing with a parental alienator. When he signs off on the dotted line then I'll be the first to freak.

Really though, the man is smart like us. He knows this family will never get another show again.

JoannaNY said...

"Having a child with ex-girlfriend Halle Berry turned out to be profitable for Gabriel Aubry.

TMZ reports that a family law judge ordered Berry to pay Aubry $20,000 a month in child support.

In April Aubry filed legal documents asking a judge to force Berry to give him $15,000 to $20,000 a month for a proper home, so that the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, would keep living in the surroundings to which she has become accustomed."

What does a four-year-old do with $20,000 a month? That's $240,000 a year. That will buy some very nice doll houses and pink Barbie cars!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Actually the more I think about it the more I think this interview actually might have been extremely calculated. Here is a nice guy saying nice things about his kids' mom, apologizing for everything again, taking full responsibility, coming across as a flawed but earnest soul. Kate, on the other hand, has trashed him left and right when the article makes it seem like he's doing his darndest.

Who looks like the tool in this relationship? Kate. For picking on a nice guy who has said nothing but nice things about her, apologized, and is being 100% earnest with the kids. Nice chess move, Jon. Very nice.

And the saga continues. His face ain't being removed from that banner anytime soon that's for sure.

Kate Gosselin, firefighter? She'll try out new jobs for new TLC reality show without kids, Jon
BY ISSIE LAPOWSKY
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Wednesday, January 13, 2010
Multi-tasking reality mom Kate Gosselin is about to try on a lot of new hats.

In Gosselin's new series with TLC, in which she'll be appearing without the "8," her famous brood, she will be "trying different jobs and tasks and showing how she performs in the different environments," according to TheWrap.com.

The show will be "more like Kate Gosselin, firefighter, not Kate Gosselin, wife and homemaker," a TLC rep told the Web site. It may also have an interactive element, in which audience members would get to pick which activities Kate takes on.

"She's proven herself to be a celebrity in her own right," says an exec at TLC's parent company, "and, with the interest she generates, she can fit into any role on her own."

Personally, I don't believe the "Kate the Firefigher" comment. TLC cancelled her show, and by her own tweets, she said she doesn't think there will be any specials and she was sad about that. Therefore, I don't believe TLC came up with this project for her when Twist of Kate never left the ground.

Dwindle, also Kate is probably a calmer, happier person when she has a show. She has probably been a total nightmare since the cameras went away. They may very well want the show back so Kate will be happy and calmer again.

In an old article about what was supposed to be Twist of Kate, they call Kate "Kate the Firefighter". That comment by Worked for her, was just rehashing old news from January 2010.

Two years ago there was talk of a new TLC show with Kate called "Kate Gosselin Firefighter." The reports are still found online. It never happened.

Regardless of the press release, I still say I'll believe it when I see it.

The tabloids have been wrong so many times before, and again, Twist of Kate never saw the light of day, although we were given release times at least twice.

I also do not believe that TLC thinks Kate is a celebrity in her own right, generates interest, and can fit into any role. If they thought that, they wouldn't have cancelled Kate+8, since the show became all about her anyway.

Nope, not buying it till I see it.

Admin--I don't see my original post that you are responding to. There is no "supposed to" in 12 Step-- people make amends in their own way. I said in my original post that this is not the only reason I think he has been in a 12 Step program. It makes more sense, to me, than the idea that he devised some kind of plan to appease Kate so that she will be nicer to the kids. Although, that certainly is a possibility. My guess is that since he violated their marriage publicly, he feels that he should make amends publicly in order to repair thei relationship as co-parents. Anyway, JMO. For now, it is the only explanation that makes sense to me. I may see it differently when the full article comes out.

I don't believe Kate is really exhausted. It's just another one of her lies she tells to get her tweeties to feel sorry for her.

She doesn't get up early, she doesn't go to a job, she doesn't rush home to make dinner, etc. She has a nanny, landscapers, and a "laundry girl", as well as a cleaning lady, all of which she admitted to.

She just uses "exhausted" as an excuse to get her tweeties to feel sorry for her because she has 8 kids.

Totally agree with you re: Dawn dish washing detergent. Our last german shepard got skunked twice in one week. The nutball (our dog) was chasing the little bugger. We brought him in the first time for a skunk bath. It worked okay but not great. We were informed at the time that skunk spray is an oil and it is easy to get off when it is on the fur but when it gets into the skin your in trouble. So because our dog tried to grab the skunk most of the spray was on his face. When he got sprayed the second time, I told my husband we are giving him a bath with Dawn because it is great at breaking up oil. It worked really well. There was still a faint smell for a week or so but it worked so much better than the skunk bath at the vets. Luckily our present german shepard is lazy and he can't be bothered to chase much.

Jon saying Khate is a good mum is just a slap in the for his kids, especially the boys. They live with a mom who is constantly hurting them emotionally and physically. They wonder why mommy is always screaming at them, ignoring them, trying her darndest to escape from them, and complaining about them. Is it because she isn't a good mom or because THEY are good sons and daughters? Now Daddy is saying loudly and publicly that Khate actually is a good mom. Therefore it must be them. They must be the 'problem'.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Back on the skunk subject yes I've heard Dawn is a key ingredient. I always keep some on hand, though I usually resort to cheaper soap for regular jobs. But I sometimes wash hand-wash only clothing items in Dawn. It gets them clean and it smells nice. Thankfully I had some Dawn the night the pup got blasted! It happened at exactly 11pm at night during "last call" so the last thing I wanted to do was run to CVS at that hour. I'm a big believer in a well-stocked pantry with essentials like that. You never know. Dog lovers, make sure you have Dawn, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda always on hand!

Oh, I also found that using an old sponge to lather him up, instead of just my hands, really helped work the solution into his fur. I also left it on him for a few minutes before rinsing.

OrangeCrush said...

Truth or not, there is no reason to NOT say Kate is a great mom, anything else is tossing her under the bus - don't we all just want her to make a similar positive statement about the father of her kids, then change the subject and move on?

Any other comments from him about her are uncalled for, and while I personally do not think Jon owes Kate an apology for his behavior, if he wants a ckean slate, fine.

I certainly hope that effing fool has a really large sunhat if she comes home from an expensive hair fry and then sits by the pool in the heat and sun all day. You know, Kate, it is not medically sound to have kids out all day in that weather, oh wait, it worked out just fine in NY that summer.

lol Savethe8 you can talk about whatever you want. I don't see how that bill is even constitutional. Rogue politicians annoy me.

Oh I finished watching the rest of Bristol Palin. I swear she said that Tripp doesn't have a father. Um, WTF? I know she's saying she's having a lot of issues with him not participating but to say Tripp doesn't have a father is taking it to a whole other level. I don't get why these alienators can't understand that it's irrelevant how wronged you feel by the other parent, the healthy thing to do for your child, who will someday realize they are half the other parent, is to never speak badly about them.

I guess I feel for her because I feel like her situation is very similar to the Gosselins. She didn't choose fame, her mom did. She didn't choose to open up her life to the masses. Her mom chose it for her before she was of the age to give informed consent. She had an absent mother who much like Kate cared much more about other things than the kids. She also has to deal with a lot of "haters" who can't stand her mom and tell Bristol so. Her entire life is framed in this Sarah Palin fame, I don't see how as a person you find your own voice in all that very easily. I think this kid could use a lot of therapy to help her process her childhood in healthier ways than a reality show. Child of a celebrity or not she does need to grow up at some point. If the only thing the Gosselin kids know how to do when they are her age is go on a reality show to express all their frustrations, I think I'll see it the same way.

By the way she's already saying she regrets this reality show, at least she's further ahead than Kate in that respect: "If I would have known it was my own name and so much in my life is gonna be shown on this show, I think I would reconsider it and think about it more."

Jon saying Khate is a good mum is just a slap in the for his kids, especially the boys.

*******************

I'm behind on comments as I have in-laws in town, but I have to agree with Tamara on this one. Jon seems to be changing his tune lately: Kate's a "good mom" and he'd consider putting the kids back on tv... WTF????????? Yes, I agree that an ex should not trash his/her former spouse -- but to outright LIE about the ex's parenting is a complete no-no in my book. Kate is NOT a good mom, and if anyone knows this, it's Jon. My fear is that the two of them are suddenly realizing (now that the TLC cushion is gone) that these kids actually cost a LOT of money to raise. I would not put it past them to be conspiring for a new reality show. Let's not forget, as much as some of us really like Jon, his track record is one of a party-boy, rich-kid. He "attended" university, but couldn't be bothered to actually graduate -- too busy snow-boarding or whatnot to finish the FREE education his dentist-dad tried to provide. Bottom line: he's a spoiled, clueless child of a well-to-do dad.

Then there's Kate, who is an opportunistic wench who (for reasons unknown) feels entitled to all the best in life despite not having earned a lick of it. She’s consistently done the absolute minimum to reach her maximum goals: Nursing school – she chose the short-cut. Income – she chose to turn her womb into a freak show in order to earn cash fast.

In any event, it seems that both parents are realizing that they really CAN’T care for eight-count-em-eight kids. They were plenty cocky when they had the fat paychecks from TLC, but now that all the freebies, church help, and TLC sponsorship have FINALLY come to an end, both Jon and Kate are probably for the first time realizing just how expensive it is to raise all those kids. And I fear that they are going to sell those kids out again.

I won’t be a bit surprised if there’s a new Gosselin show offered by TLC. It won’t last – they’ve all burned too many bridges (and by “they” I include Kate, Jon, AND TLC), but I would bet dollars to donuts that they’ll try to recreate their former magic. So sad for the kids.

What did Bristol think? They were going to use someone else's name and life?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Jon actually said Kate was a good mom ages and ages ago, though I haven't searched for the quote to know exactly when, so I don't really think he's changing his tune. He's always been the parent to speak positively about the other despite getting trashed himself. Unlike Kate, he loves his kids more than he hates the other parent.

Silimom said...

I think Jon's comments about the kids and filming perhaps are an allusion to Mady "wanting" to be the next Disney Teen Star. He could feel that now that she is getting older, now that he (at least) has a better idea of how the industry works and can look out for her best interests, that if she wanted to audition and try out for something, he wouldn't be beyond considering it. It could be that Kate wants to see if she can get Mady into commercials or something and it may be that it truly is something Mady wants to do.

Another thought - if (and this is, I hope, a BIG "if") Kate is going to be on DWTS, it may be that she wants the kids to be able to come and root for her, or at least Mady and Cara. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Jon need to give his consent? That is a scenario where I think it would be appropriate for the kids to be on television. Would Kate be using them? Meh, yeah. But this is their Mom and whatever her intentions, I think they would genuinely want to root for her this time around and I don't see anything harmful in them sitting in the audience cheering for her.

Jon has always struck me as a reasonable fellow. My husband has a saying with our kids - No reasonable offer refused. I don't think Jon is going to sign the kids back up for a 24/7 reality show like they were on before. I think he's being logical and there may be times, if Kate is given a television show of her own that opportunities for the kids to be on it may arise. I think he's going to approach it on a case by case basis. He may also realize, as many of us here speculate on a regular basis, that Kate is, DWTS not withstanding, done as far as another show is concerned. So, as has been stated here before, there's really no harm done in him appearing to be amicable in an interview. Like Kate, he's hedging his words very carefully, I think. It truly sounded to me like a "We'll see" response.

It will be interesting to see the People article.

Of course, the other scenario is that they both are going to stage a reconciliation in order to get a new show. If that were the case, THEN he'd be on my sh** list.

later said...

Apparantly Jon doesn't want his kids to fade from the public's view. Is he too dumb to understand that every time he (or his wretched ex-wife) make a 'statement' or give 'an interview' to a tabloid magazine that it makes the public remember and say "Oh yeah, those Gosselin kids, wonder how they're doing now?" and then search online for up to date pics? Which of course Kate provides.

For God's sake, can't ONE of them shut the hell up for more than 5 minutes??

And get off the cross Jon. You've apologized so many times already for your past behaviour. It's getting old!

Jon should have told People this: I am sorry for what I did to Kate, leaving her to film the show on her own just showed the world that if Kate is in the room you get nothing but meltdowns, sickness, shrieking, panic, upset and drama. Yes, I thought she was banging Steve, who wouldn't? They like travel and stay at the same hotel and dine out and walk hand in hand on beaches and you must have noticed how skanky, I mean skimpy her outfits got after we broke up... If I have any regrets it is being responsible for Kate going through her gladiator shoes stage, that was rough. Yes, Kate is a good Mom if like I have the kids out of her reach and I have to call her to get medical stuff, cause she was trained and you'd think she would know how much tylenol to give Mady. Did I cheat on Kate? I am not sure, as I said there were three of us in that marriage, and one day I just decided I'd rather find someone who appreciated me and wanted to be with me, not run around the Country chasing after fame in bad hair and bad outfits with some guy clutching her purse. Yes, I agree, the tabloids made it worse, but as long as they all mention my new job and give my employer some press, it is all good. Do I want to reunite with Kate? Now that is fucking hilarious, oops, excuse me, sorry, look if you saw five minutes of our show you wouldn't ask that question with a straight face. Kate is a troubled individual, there is a reason she has no contact with any of her family and has no friends. I wasn't allowed to have friends or have much contact with my family because of her. My kids, well, all I can say is that they are blessed to have time away from her at my place. But please don't print that, I want to keep my profile up where I just say nice things about her. The kids miss the 'things/stuff' they got when the show was being filmed. They probably don't even realize that the 'filming' was part and parcel of receiving all that.

RE filming again, in what context? The kids show NO special talents (well except for Carnegie quality Mady with her musical talents? and Hollywood capable Mady with her acting/directorish talents?), along with NOTHING special in the appearance category (they are no longer a gaggle of cute toddlers with a set of totally unlook-a-like twin sisters, one of which is guaranteed to throw a jelous fit over the tups special treatment) and who wants to see the care and feeding of the huge self entitlement attitudes she so religiously (snark intended) worked at for HER kids who deserve life handed to them on a golden tray (always thought it was a silver platter). There aren't enough 'places' to send them that they could base another show on and to build a show on the talents, looks, attitude of the mother-figure is equally lame. She has even less to offer than all eight (yeah, count 'em, 8) of the kids put together.

I read this from Sadusky's defense. WHO DOES THIS REALLY SOUND LIKE?

Histrionic personality disorder is characterized by a long-standing pattern of attention seeking behavior and extreme emotionality. Someone with histrionic personality disorder wants to be the center of attention in any group of people, and feel uncomfortable when they are not. While often lively, interesting and sometimes dramatic, they have difficulty when people aren't focused exclusively on them. People with this disorder may be perceived as being shallow, and may engage in sexually seductive or provocating behavior to draw attention to themselves.

Individuals with Histrionic Personality Disorder may have difficulty achieving emotional intimacy in romantic or sexual relationships. Without being aware of it, they often act out a role (e.g., "victim" or "princess") in their relationships to others. They may seek to control their partner through emotional manipulation or seductiveness on one level, whereas displaying a marked dependency on them at another level.

Individuals with this disorder often have impaired relationships with same-sex friends because their sexually provocative interpersonal style may seem a threat to their friends' relationships. These individuals may also alienate friends with demands for constant attention. They often become depressed and upset when they are not the center of attention.

People with histrionic personality disorder may crave novelty, stimulation, and excitement and have a tendency to become bored with their usual routine. These individuals are often intolerant of, or frustrated by, situations that involve delayed gratification, and their actions are often directed at obtaining immediate satisfaction. Although they often initiate a job or project with great enthusiasm, their interest may lag quickly.

Longer-term relationships may be neglected to make way for the excitement of new relationships.

Jon saying "Kate is a Good Mom" is akin to Clinton saying "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

He's doing it so that he looks good. He knows the truth and so do the kids. (as do many, many people in the community). I think it's also Jon's way of keeping the heat off him when it comes to the questioning of the tabloids. If there's no dirt to spill on Kate then the hounds will sniff elsewhere.

Jon wants the respect he was never afforded because of the way he was portrayed on TLC (as a whipped husband) and then later during the separation and divorce (as a cheating, bad designer clothes wearing wanna-be playboy).

Now he's trying to show who he really is; a normal dad who's doing his best to get along with his ex and provide for those kids.

However, I'm with whomever said if Jon puts his kids on another reality show...he's on my SH!T List as well. He'll NEVER be able to live that down.

Yep, Kids arent stupid. Even puppies would figure out fast that when other adults are around The Mother is less cruel to me.

Jon, what happened to "This is the last interview I am giving, ever"? Sigh. Why did you have to promote yourself again as the father of these kids? (you have no other claim to fame so why are you using these kids again?)

And now every single one of the eight kids misses the act of strangers filming their daily realities? No one believes that. Maybe Mady and Alexis, but no one believes that all of them want their pee, poop, vomit, tantrums back on teevee for their friends to see. Let alone letting everyone see how horrible their mother treats them, speaks to them, ignores them, screams at them, pinches them, all the while with her hired boyfriend and boobs and mini skirts taking front and center. Is this what your darling Cara wants? Your precious Joel? I didnt think so.

Kate is NOT a good mother, good mothers do not act as I just stated, and they sure dont do it so proudly and publicly. Your interview is another dagger those children will have to haul into therapy with them; "While we were being mentally tortured and physically neglected for all the world to see, sometimes we had these secret fantasies that our dad might save us from it. Until he announced to the world that he either didnt care enough to even notice what was happening to us, or he thought we deserved to be treated this way by her."

The more I read about HPD, the more I am convinced this is Kate. Those children are being subjected to a terrible upbringing, and for Jon to say Kate is a good mother is APPALLING. Instead, he should demand she and the kids go into counseling. He should also reflect about her treatment of him and why he put up with it. I never even even heard of Histronic Personality Disorder until the Sandusky trial.

From the "oh dear..." department of life.

Coming home after dark we startled 4 juvenile skunks with our headlights. They were about 1/2 mile down our driveway and scattered in confusion. We didn't see the mom. I googled. Average litter size is 5, with one litter per mom per year. They were probably born in March.

She's in LA or LV or some other such place. Dwindle, what you said is so true. No way did Kate pass the day at home by the pool. I believe she's still in NY with Stevie and THEY were sitting by a pool. I just hope that the Not a Nanny sits by the pool at home and keeps a good eye on those children while they're having fun. Pool accidents can happen so fast.

I also think that Kate is not always as tired or exhausted as she says. She only wants attention and being the superMom she thinks she is, she believes that all Moms are continuously tired. Her brain thinks big and all tasks are greatly exagerated. She sees a task that needs to be done and analyses how she'll go about doing it and it tires her out.

Sorry to say but I think that Mady is going down the same path as Kate, like mother like daughter.

I agree with Tamara #87...there was no reason for Jon to outright lie and say he thinks Kate is a great mom when she clearly is not, and now the kids will be confused even more.

I don't think there's any coincidence to Jon having an article coming out on the same day that "Gosselin Book" is scheduled to drop, AND on the same exact day that their divorce was filed 3 years ago.

Jon has repeatedly said he does not desire publicity and only wants to live a regular life quietly, yet now he's in a People mag article and doing numerous public appearances that are publicized? That's not a "regular" life, and while he is not actively exploiting the kids, he's doing them no favors

Me three. Twatter silence means Kate is no where near her kids and probably on the road.

I actually feel sorry for her hair. She eats virtually no fat, so it's dry to begin with. She gets it bleached monthly. Then to compensate for it's straw-like appearance, she only washes it a couple times a week and she said she uses Moroccan Oil, which gives it that unwashed, lank, stringy appearance. Oh wait... my bad, she did say she found an off-brand version of Moroccan Oil. She never said she has tried any cheaper cosmetics though, last she talked about makeup she mentioned brands like Urban Decay, Stila and Smashbox. Hey Kate! even with the Ulta coupon they still cost ALOT more than Loreal and Cover Girl. Keep giving your kids beans, cheese, .99 cereal and organic milk only when it's on sale. Keep dressing your 8 yr. old boys from the young men's section and I guess you'll still be able to afford your fancy makeup and upkeep for YOURself.

Both Kate and Jon are pushing the idea of a new show with the kids pretty hard. Everyone wondered what the point of his appearance with Liz was. But he made sure that he didn't say "no" to the idea of the kids being filmed again, and also, somehow, the idea of a show with him, the kids, Liz, and her kids just happened to come up. He was definitely planting a seed there. Then, immediately, Kate goes on TV to let the world know that she'd do another show with the kids. Now, Jon is again talking about being back on TV. It's like hey both decided that the reason they didn't get their own TV careers is because the kids weren't involved. So, they toss the kids back in the mix, and confidently expect a new show to appear. After all, they'll film the kids! It's a slam-dunk!
Do they not get the concept of ratings? When K+8 premiered, there were more than 3 million viewers. That very quickly dropped to the point where the show was struggling to get over a million viewers. Kate wasn't delivering a big audience, and neither were the kids. Both Jon and Kate seem to think that they should get a show because they want one. They're not stopping to think that they are no longer marketable, or that TV execs don't want THEM. Time to face reality, J&K, you had your time in the soptlight. That time is over. Move on.

No tweeting, she's with Steve. I believe she goes to NYC to have botox and other cosmetic work done. For instance, you don't have to go under a knife any longer to remove fat. While I agree with everyone that Jon shouldn't have done an interview, I am glad that he said Kate is a good mom. We all know that he knows better, however what good would it have done to throw Kate under the bus? It would have made him look just as vindictive and bitter as Kate. These interviews will all be out there one day for their children to read. At least they can say, "My dad never trashed my mom in public or in print." They will never be able to say that about Kate.

As admin. said earlier, Jon loves his kids more than he hates Kate.

I agree that Jon should not bash Kate in public. However, I don't think he should lie about her. he should not have said she is a great mother because we all know that's a lie and I think it is a figurative slap to the kids after all she has done to them.

He should just avoid the subject of Kate altogether unless specifically asked. If asked, then he can politely decline to answer. If necessary he can give the excuse that he refuses to talk about his kids' homelife because they are entitled to their privacy, etc.

However, the blatant lie that Kate is a great mother will be very hurtful to the kids one day. I base my comments on personal experience.

It's just so hard to know what to say or when to say it when dealing with a parent who is a narcissist. You want to support your children's love for that narcissist while also letting them know you are there for them supporting their issues with that same person. It's a tough position to know that the person causing your children so much heartache is also, undeniably, a person they very much love too, right now at least.

Maybe the kids are becoming aware that most of the public can't stand Kate. I wouldn't doubt it, they're not stupid. Maybe they're internalizing it and feeling bad. Maybe what they need right now is a parent being supportive. We have to remember that right now, these kids love Kate and she is the only mother they know. Actually they will probably always love her even as they get older and realize how messed up she is, and she will always be the only mother they have. Of the few narcissists I met, I never met a child who hated them. All their children loved them. All their children were certainly victims and many knew it, but they adored them. It's their parent.

Maybe they need to hear from someone in their close circle that they have support. For all we know Jon is always available to help them when they are having issues with Kate and when and if they are ready to talk to him about her outrageous mothering deficiencies I believe he will support them.

It's also a statement that shuts Kate down, ends her madness. I'd be shocked now if she still continues to go out and trash him. He shut her down. He buttered her up, said great things about her, now she is the only one left to look like a douchebag if she takes a jab at him ever again.

I think there was a lot calculated in that statement beyond just Jon believes Kate is a good mom.

Re: Jon's interviews - What is one unique thing Jon brings to the table when applying for a job? His celebrity. And to make that celebrity work for him he has to stay somewhat relevant. Unlike many of you, I don't see him using his kids to stay relevant as much as he's using his status as Kate's ex-husband.

I think it's actually a calculated move on his part. IF Kate is gearing up for DWTS again, she won't be able to say "I sucked because of all the stress in my life due to Jon" like last time. Jon is giving Kate a "gift" in a way. This can be Kate's comeback tour - kids are doing great, things with Jon are good, she can just focus on DWTS.

And then, when she fails (which she will), there will be no one but Kate to blame. He played nice. He did the interviews. The public is starting to go "Yeah, I'd probably freak out a bit if I was suddenly single after 10 years of being married to Kate and having 8 kids in my first five years of marriage" and "Oh, there's the nice guy we all got to see on that show he did . Glad to see he got his life together."

Jon is being, potentially, very subtle and shrewd in giving Kate enough rope to hang herself at very little cost to him except some disgruntled anti-Kate fans.

It's reminiscent of how TLC used the RV episode to end the series.

I just thought it was very strange that the question asked in the first place. Liz has never been on TV, why would the interviewer bring up the possibility if it wasn't intentional? Sure, she said NO, but that was the same interview where Jon--for the first time--didn't shoot down the idea of the kids being on TV. Then they are asked whether they'd consider Jon & Liz Plus Eleven. It just seemed contrived, like a deliberate "hint". Putting the idea out there.
Now, weeks later, Jon says he would be on TV again if it were the right offer, and he would let the kids be on TV. Where Jon and Kate are concerned, I don't believe there are any coincidences. It's like that interview Kate did (Leno, maybe?) when she said it would be funny if she were on DWTS because she can't dance. It sounded like she was shooting it down, and then--surprise--right after that she was on.

Kate and Jon are obviously now working together for the sake of their kids. They do not want the kids to lose their house and lifestyle and if that means being nice to each other then that's what they will do. I'm sure Jon wants Kate to be able to work to support the kids.

amyf said...

I think people are moving a little too fast in their condemnation of Jon. Other than him saying that "Kate's a great mom," which may be a calculated way to keep her calmed down a bit (if that's not it, then he IS a bit delusional), apart from that, I'm choosing to give him the benefit of the doubt until we see a lot more in the months to come.

mamaK said...

I'm not overly concerned about Jon's comment about Kate being a good mom. He didn't say great. He didn't say awesome. Not amazing. Just good. And honestly, I doubt he really understands what happens in that house without him in order to really be able to make that judgement. It's possible that he just knows that she's being nicer and he appreciates that. And we all know that Kate being nicer to Jon only comes about because someone told her he has to sign off on a show with the kids.

I am seriously concerned about his statement about being able to call her when a kid is sick to ask what to do. REally???? Really Jon??? We all know Kate's methods when they kids are sick, so this disturbs me! Jon, your own mom is around, any advise she can give you is worth 400 times more than what Kate would say! Just cuz she has a degree-ish in nursing doesn't mean she knows what she's doing!

I am disappointed in Jon for doing this interview at all. He wants a private life, stay private. He should remember the costs of putting your life out there for public consumption. But, honestly, he wants the money and the perks that come from being "famous" just like Kate.
And, Jon, Kate is a Narcussist. It is not possible to placate a Narcussist. Especially one as attention hungry as Kate. She will just take and take and take until she has bled you dry and then she will rake you over the coals as not doing enough. This is what she did to her parents, TLC, and EM Tanner. She'll do it to you too.

I wholeheartedly respect your opinion and am not trying to spark a debate. However, sometimes silence can speak more than actual words. In other words, refusing to speak leads to the interviewer and those reading/listening to the interview to interpret the silence as he does not like Kate, he does not think she is a good mother, etc.
Like I said, I respect everyone's opinions here and don't want to step on toes. It was just something that I felt I needed to clarify. We can always agree to disagree:)

Then cover trap with a large thick tarp. The skunks will get agitated when covered and moved and likely spray but the tarp should contain the most awful of the oils.

Place in back of open truck bed, drive way far away into forest or woods and release.

It's a tricky thing to do - wear old clothes!

OR - do what we did and call someone to haul the stinker away. Most places have some kind of regulations on where you can release skunks... that's why we left it to a pro. Cost us $100.

He left trap for 1 week, baited with vanilla wafers and peanut butter. We caught squirrels, possums, a racoon before the skunk got caught.

The racoon was so cute. But he sure didn't want to play with us....... nasty, angry little bugger. I'd be angry too if trapped, even in have-a-heart trap. Ah well.......

We haven't seen any skunks around here for a while. I think they find someplace they like and stay there until they get ousted.

Our dog got skunked and ran back into the house, had to replace the carpet where she tried to wipe her face and chest. Poor baby. The peroxide/Dawn/baking soda recipe worked like a charm!

I so agree about Ann Curry. She was so calm, professional and I really enjoyed when she hosted Dateline. She was never so over the top as so many of them are. She will really be missed, but I suspect someone else will grab her pretty quick.

Part of me wants to see Kate get her own gig without the kids. It will feed her ego, making her happier. She'll be away more, and her treatment of the kids will be better. She'll make some dough, and the kids will be able to stay in their school and home. I don't really have a problem with it.

The alternative is much worse: If Kate doesn't have a gig, she'll be stressed about losing her millions. Then she'll be more miserable, bitchy, short-tempered, and frustrated being around the 8. They lose...

NT said...

She just tweeted a pic of the kids lunch. Why do her meals always look so drab and dull and tasteless. Those lunches do not look appetizing at all. And what are those leaves on one of the plates? Is that yard waste? Yah,her cookbook would be best seller!! NOT!!!

Bluebird said...

Kate is ridiculously stupid. I don't know if it's a hamburger or a bun with a slice of cheese and a slice of processed ham on it, but it does not look very appetizing. Who serves popcorn for lunch? and what's with 1 cucumber slice on the plates. Normal people would slice cucumbers, snow peas, and other vegetables on a plate in the middle of the table and a vegetable dip with a spoon in it on the side. Everyone could serve themselves. Half a mandarine and 1 cookie. Good grief, my grandchildren 4 and 6 years old eat more than that. Just to say that I would be ashamed to serve this and call it lunch, much less take a picture of it for the world to see. Will this bi...h ever get it right, or is she just oblivious to how much of a joke she makes herself out to be. People are laughing at her and she doesn't even realize it. I guess after this big lunch she will tell us all how exhausted she is. Geez, what an idiot.

NT said...

Only 10 hours left and questions will be answered.

Oops, I meant nectarine and not mandarine, lolll.

I think there was a lot calculated in that statement beyond just Jon believes Kate is a good mom.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.
Here's my thought. Jon said this because Kate says she's a good mom, although her actions have always proved otherwise. She's going to start to be held accountable for all those trips and marathons and times away from her kids while she focuses on herself.

No 'good mother' spends more money getting her hair done in NYC while not being able to give on of her little girls (who really wants to be a gymnast) Gymnastic lessons.
No 'good mother' flies all over the country to run marathons and half marathons just for the feel of crossing a finish line while her kids are crying out that they never go anywhere and would really like to go to the beach.
No 'good mother' spends hundreds of dollars on shoes for herself while giving her children second hand and too large clothing.

Kate is going to have to live up to that moniker now, or else look bad.
Jon has calculated this move correctly. He's now being made out to be a humble and contrite man who seeks forgiveness and wants to do well in the eyes of his children. Whomever his publicity managers are, well, they are going about this correctly. (not only that but Gameface Sports Arena is getting some great mentions).

Yeah...control time. How about giving the kids a whole plum (or is it an apple or peach?)...

Is this a new game called "Guess the food"? I can't even figure out what most of that stuff is. And of course, you MUST use paper plates.

Looks like a peach- and 1/2 a peach is all they're getting. Peaches are expensive, don't ya know.

I wonder if she served milk with their meager lunch...

Unfortunately, she's still serving their meals on paper plates. What a waste. Is it really that time consuming to wash 8 little plates?

Hey Kate, Playtex has really cute gloves for cleaning dishes. Go grift a pair.

Why does she need to randomly show pictures of their snacks...errrrr...meals?

Does she really need the praise from her uber-fans saying how yummy and good it looks? I just don't understand her thinking there.

That's not much of a lunch- half a nectarine, popcorn, slider?, bit of veg for a couple. Reminiscent of the grapes and crackers- I will therefore assume it's a snack- but that may not be the case?

Didn't she read here about paper plates!!!!So wasteful.

@Kateplusmy8 I have a 17 month old girl and i love your lunch/dinner pictures! Gives me plenty of idea's for healthy meals! :)

Gawd, woman, get a grip! These sheeple suck-ups never disappoint me. What parent couldn't think up a tiny hamburger on a roll, half a piece of fruit, some popcorn and celery? I'm sure 17-month olds would really eat that with gusto, especially cold popcorn!

Why does the roll at the upper left have a piece of lunchmeat with a patty on the side? It is a hamburger, isn't it and not a sausage patty?

Kate is so creative. However does she do it?

fidosmommy said...

Well, somebody gets the peas in pods. What is that mixture? At first I thought it was a tuna salad, but I can't see her serving that with a mini sandwich. Those buns are "slider" size, aren't they?

KAT said...

OT for a moment....I like Ann Curry but I think she's better in the field than in the anchor chair. I also think she is the least of NBC's trouble. They have gone too far to the left and it's turning people off. Also I think that there's too little news and too much fluff in the past couple of years. I ususally watch the first 10 minutes and then turn it off.

She's a Nut Job said...

Kate, WTF? Are you proud of those lunches?

A casual check of that meal (tiny bun sandwich, 1/2 piece of a small pitted fruit, 1 cup of plain popcorn, small celery slice with 1 tsp. of dressing, small cookie) indicates a calorie count of maybe 350 calories. Hopefully there was cheese in the sandwich.

Growing, active children, ages 4-8 need at least 1600-1800 calories per day. It is obvious why the kids are so lean. Gahhh, she is such a crazed calorie fanatic!

Tucker's Mom said...

Yes, those are slider-sized buns. I guess the kids are used to the small portions by now, but I was eating a regular bread sandwich since I was in first grade!
Didn't Kate write a CC blog about recycling and being "green". It's such a farce. She's used enough paper plates to fill an ocean by now. How do sheeple not see the incongruity of what she says and what she actually does?

What is that "thing" on the side? Burger or sausage? Here's a woman who walked the red carpet, was a guest of a former vice-presidential candidate, appeared on a national television series, competed on DWTS and she has to resort to putting pictures of a pathetic lunch on Twitter just so her adoring fans can fawn over her. That's all she has left. Kind of sad, isn't it? Why even bother?

KAT said...

Someone on twitter just sent congrats to Kate on her new show and said that she knows she is smiling ear to ear. When I looked up the profile there was none and no tweets or followers. Is this one of her desperate fans trying to create a buzz or is it desperate Kate having a mental breakdown.

OrangeCrush said...

I believe that odd mix is just popcorn. Do not understand why she thinks these pics of her weird little meals are worth posting. I have never seen so many snacky meals in my life, kinda wonder if the kitchen is closed until dinner.

Only point to that pic is to prove she's home, and now I think she wasn't yesterday - the too tired post from last night was her just getting back from her mini-vacay.

To all you moms of boys.... at what age do they start to eat like horses? I'm wondering if it's strange at even 8 for the boys to be eating the same plates as their sisters.

Looks like a slider bun to me. Gee, Kate, give the kids some REAL food with REAL portions. Besides the fruit half, what is the rest of that crap on the ol' paper plate?
Who uses paper plates for YEARS? Damn Kate, you have two dishwashers...USE THEM.
(another thought comes to mind.....just for Kate. Money can't buy class..she's still a paper plate-pooh tattoo imbecile.
(and who says this plate of crap means she is actually home? she could have taken that pic anytime).

I agree with Berks Neighbor. Jon lived with that

deal with her and her mental problems. In my opinion,
publicity for HIS job is the reason for his interview. He has
a new job he wants to promote, and in order to do
that, he first has to deal with the questions about
Kate and the kids.

That "meal" looks like a mini burger bun, a mini and anemic turkey burger, popcorn, half a peach or nectarine, and some sloppy whitish dipping stuff. A couple of plates seem to have celery and one has pea poddyish (sic) stuff. There is also some unidentifiable brownish matter on a couple of those paper plates.

Dear God, Kate! Break the bank and give those 8 and 11 year old kids some fresh tomato for color and a whole peach each. I'm sure they could choke them down. @@@

Question for Kate on her blog...

Hi Kate!
Have any of your children ever experienced aggression?

Kate's truthful answer should have been, "Um, yes, honestly, they did and they were removed from school, so I really have no answer as to deal with it. If you watch some of the episodes, my kids were often fighting, screaming, whining, and tormenting each other, so I had the crew or Jon take care of it."

Fidosmommy - the buns look like my standard Safeway hamburger buns, so I don't think they're slider buns. I think they're turkey cheeseburgers but I could be wrong.

To be fair to Kate, it didn't look half bad. The fruit could have been a whole one, I agree. As for plating for the kids, again not a big deal to me but then again I plate my kids lunches most of the time unless it's a "Catch as catch can" meal, i.e. the kids make their own lunch. Mine can make sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese, pour their own drinks, make their own juice or chocolate milk, get their own fruit, etc.

When I make lunch, it's usually a sandwich, a fruit and a veggie - celery and cherry tomatoes are favs. I also occasionally serve chips if we have them, or crackers if the kids want them. I've done popcorn too. Honestly, the portions on that plate are pretty equal to what I serve. My kids can always have more if they want it. I don't know how it works at Kate's house.

I suspect one of the reasons she plates for them is that she doesn't want to hear fights "Aaden took all the popcorn!" or "Hannah took two cookies!!" etc. And with 8 kids that's understandable, in my opinion. Hopefully she does some "family style" meals every once in a while.

I'm gonna give the Kate criticism a pass this time because imo she did okay.

And please note: I am not a sheeple. just a long time poster who respectfully disagrees with some of the food criticisms.
