Kate just did a speaking engagement that honored Special Needs Mothers. If she had the tiniest bit of business savvy she would have mentioned it in her blog. She would have said she was humbled by the strength of mothers who sometimes have a difficult role to fill, that they are deserving of a special day, that there were coupons for flowers, restaurants, etc at Coupon Cabin ...but nope, she writes about how special SHE is. What a bitch. And what does anyone want to bet that's exactly what her speech was all about, too.

I am repeating to myself that my son loved/loves me...repeating to myself.
He would never have planned weeks in advance for my Mother's day gift. Maybe...maybe, at the age of the Gosselin chicks, he would have grabbed a crayon and a piece of paper the day before to make a card for me. (A cute card that I would have cherished.)
But, weeks of preparation? No way. He was too busy being a kid and being a boy.
And, another failure on my part -- I really don't think he would have known how to make a perfect cup of coffee for me.

I think Kate would have liked the twins and the tups all to have been identical girl sets. She got the Asian part she apparently wanted, and some girls, but yes, she does not seem to like boys or have much interest in their preferences. I think a lot may have to do with her dislike of men.She also sees men as servants to do her bidding- from coffee making, to filling up her gas tank, to doing all chores and dirty work. She is slowly relegating Jon's 'duties' to the kids. For some reason she will not relinquish the kitchen though.
Yeah, I doubt ANYONE plans for Mother's Day for WEEKS ahead, much less a pack of little kids!

When I first read the CC blog post (here, I won't click on CC at all), I also thought it must be a parody of Kate. When you're so bad, people think you are satirizing yourself, you need to step back and evaluate things.
Problem is, she's incapable of that.
She makes the kids live to serve her. Any extreme on that spectrum is bad. I've seen martyr moms who live to do everything for their kids, long after they should be doing stuff for themselves, and on the other end you have Narcissist Kate, who forces the kids to constantly serve HER needs and think about HER. They have to revolve around her like little often-forgotten planets and she's the sun.
Ug. What a horrible excuse for a "mother." For mother's day, those kids should get a full-time life with Jon and get away from the toxicity of this woman.

The kids know better than to not take it seriously, as following Kate's agenda might mean more peace for their poor little lives.

Someone please refresh my memory. I know KK was MIA last Mother's Day, but wasn't she also MIA the year before? Some tradition! ITA that most kids don't plot and plan for weeks before MD. My Dad always reminded me when I was that age. He also took me shopping to buy something and helped me make a card when I was really little. Wonder of Jon helped the kids shop for/plan for KK's day. We know she wouldn't bother to help them plan for Father's Day (Did we ever see them do something special for FD on the show?).

Oh...and one other thing. It looks like Kate did pose with a photo with Leigh S....so she obviously didn't ignore her. But I think that the critical element would be warmth and being genuine...both of which Kate can't seem to do/be.
I would think that even if a certain celebrity, who you'd gone to quite some lengths and paid to see, only spent a minute or two with you....IF they were warm and genuine to you....you would feel quite happy.
Whereas....even if you got to spend more time around the person....but the person came across as cold and unfriendly/uncaring....you would feel like you'd been snubbed/rebuffed.

LOL, but I admit when my kids were very little they had these washable pens called gel markers, and they would draw on me (arms,legs)...felt sooo good. Then I washed it off. But they liked the drawing part, not realizing the actual relaxation it gave me.
I finally got caught up here again and I just wanted to comment on that radio show that Jon did last week where he confirmed that he did pay the $22,000 per month in child support, as we had all read. This is just to show how outrageous that sum really was.

They have a five year old son from their very brief relationship, which was before he married Salma Hayek. She's reportedly seeking $46,000 a month for support of their child. So, I read in the comment section of one of the articles that Entertainment Tonight covered the story last Friday and in their coverage they mentioned Jon Gosselin. I know, WTH? How is that related? So, I found the clip - it starts at about 1:20:

Mel Gibson: also about $20,000/month

VERY, very interesting that Jon's payment was SO huge to put him in the same category as P. Diddy, Tiger Woods, and Mel Gibson! Yes, I realize there are eight kids, but child support isn't simply an amount that is multiplied by the number of kids you have. It just goes to show you how ENORMOUS that payment was and how many MILLIONS of dollars must have been flowing to Jon and Khate from TLC.
Between those huge child support payments for about two and a half years, and her payments from TLC, Khate surely has millions sitting in the bank by now. Remember, TLC was paying a lot of her expenses those years and up until very recently, she didn't even have the normal expenses that most parents have (clothing, shoes, backpacks, even food, and so many other freebies, family vacations, etc.)
I hope what actually happens is the kids tell her mother's day sort of snuck up on them so "let's just pick up some take-out, go to the park and have a picnic in the rain. You can run while we eat. Happy Mother's Day you lazy, lying sack of shit."

As far as I know, my kids are aware that there is a Mother's Day, but I don't think they know that it's this Sunday. I really don't care if I get breakfast in bed, flowers, candy, or anything at all. What's important is that they will all be here together, healthy and safe, to jump onto the bed Sunday morning, telling us that it's time to get up. Those are the memories -- NOT having kids plot for weeks and weeks about what they are going to get me for MD. Anything would, of course, be much appreciated, but I don't expect anything. I wonder what Kate would do if her kids came up empty handed.
I also believe that Kate is not hurting for money right now, which is why she can continue to live the lifestyle she's living. We have all said, the crap isn't going to really start hitting the fan for probably another 5 years. By then, the kids will be teenagers and believe me, the expenses only go up as the kids get older. If she thinks she has it difficult now, I truly do pity her. She really won't be able to cope.

Yes. Yes she can be, and yes she is. But another plausible explanation for her constant dissing of the boys may be that she is developmentally stunted. Her words and actions are often very childlike. She talks about the boys like little girls would speak about boys and how they have "cooties." (That's the word we used when I was a child back in the stone-age.) Psychology or psychoanalysis professionals would have a field day studying her behavior.
Maybe many years from now when she passes on to that great pasture in the sky, she will donate her brain to science. I have visions of it sitting in a glass container marked as "Abby Normal" (credit to Igor from Young Frankenstein).

It really has nothing to do with whether that amount of child support was too much. That amount of child support was determined from Jon's then income. If his income had been from a normal job his payments would have reflected that.
I don't see his being listed in that article as meaning anything other than his income was obviously very high then.

Her CC post was a bunch of garbage. I agree with everyone else, could she have maybe talked about the awesome mothers she met Friday? Could she have written about how blessed she is to have healthy kids? No. Because she is Kate and Kate only cares about Kate. That appearance was strictly for a paycheck and she probably has already forgotten about what that camp does. Kate only cares about how her kids are going to worship her and serve her on that day. I wish those kids could say to her Sunday morning "we were too busy to do anything for you today, but we're going to go to Giant tomorrow and buy you some flowers out of the 1/2 price bin."

They take little baggies of mixed nuts and bird treats, with some crunchy veggies thrown in, and ALL of the students are envious because her lunches are the best in the school (insert huge laugh here). She couldn't afford $4.45 per meal per child (hot entree, soup or salad, dessert, beverage)...and she was getting $22,000 a month? That's insane.

It really has nothing to do with whether that amount of child support was too much. That amount of child support was determined from Jon's then income. If his income had been from a normal job his payments would have reflected that.

I only mentioned the number of kids because we all know the sheeple's first response would be that the support is for EIGHT, count them eight, kids.
I am well aware of the fact that child support is based on income, and I think my post made it pretty clear that Jon's being included in that category was only because there were MILLIONS of dollars involved. It's quite remarkable that his child support amount is linked with those that are the highest amounts paid by VERY wealthy fathers. Jon had to be earnings millions, which means so was Khate.

I have said this in several threads, but I agree that with $22K coming in for two+ years, there is NO WAY she could be close to being out of money. And especially in view of how much of her and the kids' expenses were likely covered by TLC. I think there's a reason she has four chest freezers--two of them probably hold food from TLC catering that they haven't gotten to yet. Three-year-old cheese from the deep freeze, anyone?
Now, are the KIDS close to being out of money? Well, maybe not yet, but within a couple of years, I wouldn't be at all surprised. Especially if they have to start paying their own private-school tuition next fall. Once again, I totally see Kate as the type of person to say, well, Dad only puts in this much, so that's what I'll put in for basic child maintenance (food + clothes). MAYBE her own money covers the house and all that, but that's because that's what she has to have to satisfy her massive ego.
As for how things went with Kate and her fan, Leigh was almost paralyzed with excitement before the event (according to her tweets) and has said comparatively little after meeting Kate. She has been invited to share her experiences on a couple of the pro-Kate sites, but as of yet she hasn't. I have no doubt Kate (and Steve! LOL) were cordial, but I can't imagine Kate was anywhere near as effusive in person as she pretended to be on Twitter when Leigh said she was going.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Jon paid that 22K per month for very long. When they divorced, from what I remember, his portion of the marital money was put into an account and the 22K/month was taken out of that for child support. It ran out after a few months, and he had to go to court to have his CS modified to a more reasonable amount. I think he paid the 22K amount for about 6 months before all the money was gone. Either way, Kate made sure she got ALL the money earned during the marriage, and now she's spitting nails because Jon only pays what he can afford on his salary. He can't pay more than he makes, now, can he?
The really sad thing about KK's CC blog is that her kids have 2 (TWO!!) grandmothers and ONE great grandmother (at least, I think Jon's grandmother is still living) and she's makes no mention of them at all. Guess they aren't "real" mothers.

You have no idea. The stories about him that I could tell. I will tell this one:
He walked into a bar in Nashville and proclaimed drinks for everyone on him. When the tab came due, he laughed at the manager and left. Not kidding. The owner of the bar was called, and they decided they had had enough of John Rich stiffing their bar all the time, so they dug out an old receipt with his credit card number on it and ran that evening's tab on that card. It went through. What they did was illegal, so they left him a message telling him what they did and if he complained or stopped the payment they would file a police report on his walking out on his large tab.
The owner tipped the servers on that check out of his own company money, they did not put tips on his credit card. He continues to go into that bar, by the way. He is arrogant and rude to all except his immediate entourage.
My daughter was the manager of that bar, and I was on the phone with her half the night, she was so upset about it all.
Catching up on it but I agree about John Rich. Not everyone can go out there and raise a million dollars and it doesn't mean you aren't a great player.
And, you know what? A heck of a lot of tasks this season were NOT fundraising tasks! Actually if I think about it, of the 13 challenges maybe only one or two were fundraising tasks...? Most of them were just put together an ad campaign and whoever wins gets thirty grand.
This show used to be a lot more about fundraising but I think they felt like they had tapped that angle and it was getting boring to watch celebs call other celebs to ask for money. And it was.
Dwindle, they should have called the cops on that a-hole for walking out of the bar. Drew Carey he is not. He just created an oral contract by saying I will pay for everyone. Walking out after with a laugh is not okay, legally.

I remember watching Oprah years ago and she had Charles Barkley on and as she does frequently with really rich guests, they talked about having so much money and hardly ever having to pay for things like dinner because the restaurants are just so blessed to have them there. They both agreed that they tip well in these situations and Barkley ripped on Michael Jordan for never leaving tips, even when his meal is comped.

No, some things are not good in moderation at all. You get plenty of sunlight to make vitamin D simply by walking to your car every day--you only need a few MINUTES a week. Usually only people who never leave their house or people in climates that don't get sunlight that much have this issue. You can also get vitamin D through a lot of foods. There are very few doctors who will tell you that you need to go tan.
Though no one said Kate shouldn't tan. Go ahead, ruin your skin. What we're saying is, Kate is ruining her skin. It's an observation and it's a correct one.

When my daughter was young, she would do a sweet homemade card and a small craft project, usually from school. I still have them in a "memory trunk". I did get breakfast in bed a couple times. It was usually 2 strawberry pop tarts (her favorite), toasted, with a small wilted flower that she picked out of our garden the night before. I can't tell you how these simple things made me smile, and she was so proud of herself!
That's it, Kate, dictate to the kids what you want and take the surprise and joy out of it for them. Way to go. She's pathetic.

Why shouldn't her outside be as ugly as her inside?
Women who are smart protect their skin against the sun. There's no such thing as moderation with tanning beds: they are a big NO if you want to look younger longer and avoid skin cancer. Period.

Mrs. Malaprop -- I plead guilty to recommending Alison Weir. Isn't she great? I think my favorite of her books is "The Six Wives of Henry the Eighth", but I haven't read a bad one by her yet. Try Elizabeth Chadwick, too. She has a series of books featuring William Marshall, who was Eleanor of Aquitaine's Knight, and tutor to Richard Lionheart. Really great series. First book is "The Greatest Knight".
In a way being very fair skinned was a blessing for me because wherever I go I burn up like a strawberry pop tart, like we're talking blisters. So after burning a few times I was forced to just bite the bullet, accept that I don't tan, and put on sunscreen. I was ahead of my time because now it's sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. And I'm glad because my skin will thank me later.
Also tanning was popular in like, 1998. It's really not something a lot of celebs are too heavy into doing right now. Look at some popular "washed out" celebs like Kristin Stewart, Taylor Swift, Cate Blanchett, Gweneth Paltrow. None of them tan or tan very lightly. But a decade ago they all would have tanned. Try to keep up Kate. Porcelain is in. And it's healthier for you anyway.

These kids haven't seen her in at least three days. THe morning rushing to school is no time to catch up. I think it's a safe bet that Kate is a lot more likely to go up to NYC than Deanna to trudge down to rural PA. Does Deanna have kids? It's a safe bet someone who has kids full time wouldn't be making a lot of trips down there.
Even without Deana outing her, we know for a fact she is in NYC a lot for someone who can't afford gymnastics.
Maybe Kate is scared to let these people go from payroll because she thinks she won't have friends otherwise.

I think this is a fair statement, I appreciate your openness (we all could use more of it), but if Kate tweeted a few times a week and treated us to a few episodes of her show that would be one thing. But with 150 episodes plus as of press time 12,770 tweets, not to mention all the interviews she's done, I think we have enough to have a pretty good idea how this woman lives.

I see that Kate only tweeted Milo once in eight days, and then it was just an lol. That's gotta hurt. I guess she thought it was time to throw him/her a bone, no matter how small.
Well, Deanna was entertaining but somewhat disingenuous. She claims to have known the family for five years, which means she must have worked on the show almost from the start. She declared, over and over, that Kate is "nice and sweet," but she has to have seen, up-close and personal, all of the various banishments of friends/family over that time period. How can she ask people to accept Kate's wonderfulness when her alienations are common knowledge? And in view of her erratic and disparaging behavior on her own show and in interviews? It is hard to believe Deanna really buys into the "Oh poor Kate, she is so misunderstood" point of view given her familiarity with the situation.
In any case, her comments to me are suspect for the simple reason that she still does work for Kate, and I am sure Kate wants to be able to call on her "services" as needed.
Kate may very well have been sweet to Deanna. She seemed to treat her well enough when Deanna was on the show once. Deanna needs to understand that narcissists can be perfectly wonderful and sweet to people who do things for them--like make up artists. Or golden children and some even have a few golden "friends". But people who are of no use to them will be discarded just like that. And if Kate found a makeup artist who was better or did it for less Deanna would be gone in a second.
Deanna is full of faulty logic. Because Steve is a family man, therefore he is not having an affair. Because Kate is sweet to her, therefore Kate is a sweet person. Sigh, she would never pass the LSATS.

Speaking of shoe-leather tanned skin: I was reading an article on a gossip site earlier today about the 'tan mom', and as I quickly scrolled through the pictures, my heart sank when I saw a photo of her little daughter standing outside the family home. Maybe it hit me extra hard because she is the same age as my own daughter, but I took a chance and nicely asked in the comments section of the article if the admins would consider taking the photo down. No response from the admins yet, but I was really pleasantly surprised by the number of 'hey, I never thought about it that way, but you're right' type comments I got from other readers. I think most people are so used to seeing 'reality kids' at this point that they don't really think through the consequences. It really warmed my heart that several people took the time to think it through and agree that this little girl deserves her privacy.
Oh, Deanna is perfectly correct: Steve *is* a family man. She's just completely off base as to with *which* family his loyalties lie....

I have a few close friends who travel a lot for work and I really can't remember if they were home for Mother's Day, I think so but I couldn't say one way or the other. Well, technically, Deanna is correct that KK saw her kids on MD last year. She was photographed by tab. photogs in the DC airport on her way home from the Derby on MD. One of the photogs tried to give her a bouquet of flowers for MD. I don't know what time she arrived home, but it was sometime during the day. However, she definitely wasn't home for her "traditional" breakfast in bed, unless she immediately got into bed upon arriving home, and the kids swarmed her with a breakfast tray. Not very likely!

Therein lies the irony! A woman who Kate has no business paying one red cent to unless she sends her kids to gymnastics, the movies and gets them clothes in their size first, is out there defending Kate. Ha!

Babysitter implies teenage girl picking up a few bucks on the weekend. Nanny implies career and seriousness and devotion to your family. I've never met a full time nanny who wasn't called what she or he was, our nanny. And would be appalled and slighted otherwise.
You get what you put into nannies. Treat them like hired help and they won't stay long. Treat them like the nanny they are and an important element in running the family, and they're more inclined to want to stick around.

She seems to think the twittering and her constant focus on ME ME ME, is her employment. She sure seems to wait till the children are around her, so that she can twat and message away on her phone as a means of telling the kids "Leave me alone! I am WORKING here!"
Also, she doesnt seem to think that raising her children 1:1 is her job, her responsibility, her honor. HER job is to 'instruct' and 'organize' their upbringing. In other words, point, scream, flap, stomp and complain. THAT is child rearing to her. Someone on here said a long time ago that she assumes because there are so many of them that they will raise themselves; all she has to do is make sure they are fed and watered occasionally. That makes sense, especially since Jon was the primary physical caregiver and the primary emotional caregiver to the kids, it must have seemed pretty easy work to Kate. She gets "exhausted" just "organizing" it all, so she figures the twins can take over where Jon left off. Katie is far too important and BUSY AND EXHAUSTED to bother.
Text messaging with her child: let's face it, her eldest daughters are the closest things she has to girlfriends. The 3 of them are the same age after all.

I don't blame any mom for having to honor a commitment or get someone to watch the kids when they are sick so they can go to work and earn a paycheck. I just question why Kate always seems to build in so much fluff into her travels.
Perhaps it's because she can. When DH has to occasionally travel for work, he doesn't get the day before and after off. He's often walking in the door at midnight and right to bed so he can be back at work by 9.

She can go anywhere and if she doesn't call the paps (or have PB take pictures) there are no pictures.
On the Mother's Day discussion, my son used to make me toast with a ton of butter on it and then not bring it in to me because he didn't want to wake me up. I love him dearly but cold toast just doesn't do it for me and I'm not a big butter fan (although I did eat it). To this day when we're out for breakfast or brunch I always ask the server not to put the toast in until our eggs are cooked.
Good point about traveling for business. My DH has a dinner meeting at the home office 400 miles away tonight. First he will spend most of his day in his office, then head to the airport. Dinner meeting, tomorrow more meetings, then a late afternoon flight home. He will get home at 9 pm and be back in his office early the following day. That, Kate, is traveling on business. Occasionally he and I will make a weekend out of his late in the week meetings, but we do not have 8 young children at home. Ours are growm, when they were young, no treats like that for me.
Yes, I also think Kate thought raising her children meant she could feed and water them; Jon and TLC did the work. She still has that attitude, only now she is scarily turning her twins into het bffs.

If Jamie is still around, I'm glad that she's either keeping a bit of distance or trying to maintain the friendship in private. I thought it was a very poor choice for Jamie to bring her kids into the fray and allowed them to be filmed (being bullied). Free trips be damned-- the scrutiny and association with the controversy that surrounded Kate would not be worth it.
I think it was a poor choice for all involved to bring the drama on. Those RV's were pressure cookers, but then again, production was banking on it.
I just had to comment on the picture that Kate used on the CC blog of her and her kids in front of their house. I think it's so weird when she poses for family pictures that she's always sticking plants around them. I think that she's trying to recapture that photo shoot they did for Good Housekeeping, where it was done professionally for the magazine and they had all the props. Kate is trying to pretend that she's still relevant. It's not working, I think it looks stupid with little plants stuck all around. I have never taken a family picture and stuck plants around us.
btw the Easter pics are not professional-looking- Shoka is half cut off in one. Also imo too posed, each kid holding a potted flower. CC should insist on decent photos. They are really a third-rate operation.All hiring Kate has done is point this out.

There's sadness among the Wild Things today, at the news of Maurice Sendak's passing. Kate makes it SO EASY to go after her parenting abilities by putting out these stupid tweets.
Any reasonably intelligent person would have had those sheets tidied up enough for the washer in a reasonable amount of time.
If she was at the sink for 8 hrs straight, who was taking care of the kids?
And since when did the kids get to stay in bed while sick? Looks to me like they were assigned to the laundry room floor.
Kate makes every mundane chore so freakin hard. She must have minimal intelligence. That is the only reason I can find for her finding a mundane chore so challenging.
Kate also shows her thoughtfulness once again...she gave the charity once mention AFTER THE FACT and that's it. She might be mad that they made some money and she didn't get what she thinks is a fair share of it. Good cause or not, I question anyone that would have this woman as a paid speaker, especially when it's about parenting. If she was a speaker for narcissists or grifting, then she is the perfect choice.
I know there are a lot of dog lovers and owners among us and sure hope she doesn't have a dog show up at the mansion gates.
Bringing a new dog into a large family with a dog can have so many layers of complications and the commitment is huge. Anyone who has brought a new pup into the family knows how much patience and work is involved, not to mention the consistency that is needed.
You don't just get dogs, send them away, let someone else do all the training without even being there and then never follow up with so much as a leash walk to reinforce basic training.
Her track record is not good, so why anyone would think her home is ideal is beyond me.

Guys, sorry, but I don't get the whole 'picking Deanna apart' thing. She herself said that she was attacked by the haters (which she definitely was) after posting innocently about a blog. Then she got caught up in the frenzy and kept defending everything that got thrown at her. I don't think she's conniving enough to throw that out there to start a twitter war so she could get paid from Kate's bank account. I don't understand how Kate has even one friend, but apparently she does. This tweet really made me accept that, especially because the bullies DO jump on everything positive that is said about Kate on twitter, and they do it to everyone, even kids: @deannatweeting I don't know Beth,but the others are all good.friends&fam don't like being attacked by strangers for saying anythingpositive.
I am more concerned about another dog being adopted and cast aside than I am about some random lady who is defending Kate. Wait a minute. Kate has nine hours a day, plus every other weekend (maybe more) to herself. She was just away for the weekend. A mother takes care of sick kids and never thinks twice about it. It's what she does. Can you imagine Kate having one or more children with special needs? She just doesn't have it in her to be a parent. There's no maternal instinct there whatsoever.

I'm the first to say it's disgusting the way some people bully on twitter from both sides. But some of Deanna's responses were just plain ridiculous. Many people have been attacked on twitter but had the maturity not to respond first timers or not.
Is that kid an sick or something, offering that cute puppy to the sicko Kate, who can't even manage, being around her kids, or take care of the dog or those chickens. If this kid thinks, Kate is gonna drive or have puppy ship to her from Kansas, he must be really stupid.

For one, I seriously doubt all 8 had the same sickness at the same time with the same results.
Second of all, it wouldn't take 8 hours to get the sheets rinsed enough for the washing machine.
Lastly, we all know she didn't do it, she assigned it Jon or the "laundry girl".
Really 8 hours to clean vomit of 8 sets of single bed size sheets! She is crazy.
What was she doing, cleaning them with a single bristle toothbrush? In the process of trying to make herself such a martyr she just sounds like a lunatic. I washed my sheets myself this morning on a queasy stomach. I just threw them in the wash with some baking soda. It took five minutes.

The pool's open -- why doesn't she use her five minutes to sit out there, drink some Bahama Mamas and just soak it all in? Wait a minute. Could it be because it's cool, breezy, and it's going to rain any minute? I'm surprised she doesn't throw the sick ones into the pool to cool down the fever.
This Deanna thing. She kept it going with her crazy responses, just digging herself in deeper. In this case, the non-fans recognized that she couldn't shut up, and were just baiting her for information that should have remained private. If nothing else, it was entertaining. She's so immature and not professional. She clearly was not prepared to deal with them and just embarrassed herself. She is not Kate's spokesperson but seemed to want to set herself up as such.
