Oh, and lookie who else is gonna be on!

Perhaps Kate is also hitting up an Apprentice casting call for next season?

Laurie, I am right there with you on covering up the grays, but I am not using bleach. I think she was referring to the overbleaching, which strips the hair shaft. Because yowza, who has to put oil on their hair for an hour? Yikes!

PJ #197. Your comment was so sweet, thank you!

I remember making Christmas cookies with my boys last year, and they had fun. I rolled out the dough, gave them the cookie cutters, and (my possible mistake) the little jars that had the colored sugars, sprinkles, and candies in them. Boy, talk about a mess on the kitchen floor! However, our dog loved it and I had to sweep the floor quick so the dog wasn't on a sugar high for 2 weeks! Lol!

I hope my grandsons have good memories of me that match the wonderful memories you have of your grandma. These are the connections that make the difference. I wish Kate would see that.

DWTS finale was absolutely stunning. Just perfection. Wow. WOW! Real celebrities will be knocking down the doors to get on. Donald and William and Katherine were just all so gracious and appreciative of fan support. Sherri came back to do ” it's training men” routine with Tony, Maks,, and Val and three other guys. She was having so much fun! No way will they let Ms Kreider even be in the same state! She is way too untalented, and way too boring.

Gosselin Give Back (#183), I hear you. However, it is pretty well documented how much money Kate has pulled down over the last few years. If Kate has self-esteem problems at this point (or whether she's had them forever), she doesn't have to keep on putting them all out there--she has PLENTY of money. Let's not forget, in last September's cover issue of People, not more than a few weeks after her "surprise cancellation," Katie was crying poor. She was then talking about having enough to run at her level "for a few months."

Well (ahem), she has now been "out there" for going on 10 months and has had nearly ZERO paid gigs. Yet she still has enough money to run around hither and yon, at will, with her $1600/day boobyguard whenever the whim takes her. Oh, and the whim is taking her to San Diego next week to run a half-marathon which will probably need 5 days of first-class travel for two.

Yeah, I get her inner little-girl conflict about never being good enough; but NO, it's far too late to be dealing with that, not when you've got EIGHT (count 'em, 8) kids who are verging on adolescence. Kate is no child star, and she went into this whole experience as an adult. If you had second thoughts as you were writing, you are not at all wrong. Kate has a peculiar knack for making people feel sorry for her when she has NO legitimate need whatsoever. She has plenty of money to raise her children, but maybe not quite enough (in her own head) to keep herself in the style to which she has become accustomed.

All together now: Awwww.

Dmasy said...

LoveMyGrandsons, 601 -- contrast your Christmas cookie story with Kate's trash bag baking episode. Your dog got colorful sugar. Kate's kids got the fear of the Lord over a granule of debris on the floor.

She talks about making memories. She worries about making messes.

Just a guess -- your grandsons don't have to sit on the stripe, do they?

Laurie & pjmomma: here is something my mother once said years ago, I asked her why bother dyeing your hair(she was in her early 80's) she said: cause when I look in that mirror, I see, that beautful young girl looking back, and I feel wonderful. I think it is ashame that younger women, don't think much of themselves, to fix themselves up and not look like they just got out of bed or a wash woman. She dyed her hair a auburn red color and had it styled, right up to the day she died. I dye my hair flaming red, my natural color is strawberry blonde. They say that redheads are only 1% of the worlds population, so we stand out. I don't dye my hair red cause my mom had the red color, I do it to 1. standout, 2. to be part of the 1%. :)

Some of us love our silver hair.

anger issues kate said...

Marie: I have nothing against kate being a blond, though I don't understand, why she needs to go to the salon, so offten, and never gets her hair styled. I go every 6-8 weeks, wash my hair twice a week, my hair is what is called flaming red. Red dye is much harder to maintain, if you are washing it every day, it fades faster, and look dull. This hair style is awlful, Gibson should be ashamed of himself, for such a terrible style, it does nothing for her, infact, this style makes her even more older, looking, and out of style with everyone.

I post a while ago, that Kate was comparing herself to a 24 year old, even tweeting that they were peers. Kate you are 37, that kid is 24. You are not 24. Not even close.

LoveMyGrandsons said...

Improbable Dream, thank you!

Amy2, I understand where you are coming from. Kate brought this all on herself and most of me doesn't feel sorry for her. However I do feel sad for what this family is about to go through because of Kate's grandiose dreams that are never going to come true.

Dmasy, nope, my grandsons don't have to sit on a stripe. As a matter of fact, I don't make them sit anywhere they don't want to! Lololol! (I freely admit, when they're with grandma, they might get just a tad bit spoiled, but not much although my daughter disagrees!).

Kate Gosselin Has a Big Struggle in Front of Her, TV Insider Elaborates

Kate Gosselin has a big struggle ahead and she might be learning this as she tries paving another path back onto reality television. The 37-year-old single mom of eight kids -- who just turned 8 -- told Ann Curry on Tuesday's editition of Today that her kids miss the spotlight. According to a TV insider who spoke with the Huffington Post, Kate is having a tougher time than she thought she would.

"Kate had no idea it would be this difficult to sell another show based around her and her family," the source said. "It's hard to be on the cover of magazines one week and just a few months later not have people return your calls."

The source added that TLC was really the best network for Kate Gosselin and no other network is likely to recycle a show that was canceled.

"Once you have a show canceled, it's almost impossible to sell the same idea to another network," the insider shared. "TLC is the non-Hollywood network and the perfect home for her. If they no longer want her, I'm not sure which other network will."

Lastly, it's not the fans that sign on and launch the TV shows, it's the networks.

Will Kate Gosselin manage to be on reality TV again with her eight children? People are still very much interested in her life and follow her daily activities. It might be a struggle, but Kate could be back on sooner than people realize.

Silver hair babe: I hear yeah, I worked with a woman who went all white, and has it styled and it looks wonderful. At the salon I go to, there are some older ladies with silver hair, who come in and have the hair styled and cut and look wonderful. But there are a lot of them, who gave up, don't care, to even cut and style their hair. I know we live in hard econ times, but really, a $6-8 bottle of dye, or a $8-10 hair cut is gonna kill you. You can even, I heard go to, hair cutting school, and they will cut your hair for a small fee (under $5) or do it free on certain days, or you can get a trusted friend to cut your hair. It's just called maintenance.

IF she is invited back it would be the perfect opportunity to redeem herself. But would she actually put in the work it takes? Or would she just take it as another opportunity to be away from her kids and get under that spotlight again. Personally I think the latter, I don't think she'll ever change her ways.

Reading everyone's posts--that something was bugging her, or that she'd taken a blow she had not gotten over, that she and Steve had a fight, or that reality was sinking in--I think there's something to all of them.

So she goes on talk shows between other nobodies, answering meaningless questions.

That hopeful package she sent off in the mail was rejected or ignored (maybe).

The cruise was cancelled--she wasn't the draw she thought she'd be. She thought she could get the LONG cruise, that her fans would pay top dollar to see her. Wrong. They wouldn't pay ANY dollar.

The networks aren't taking her calls.

She was on top of the world on DWTS--didn't she say something about being ratings gold? She figured anyone who could pull 'em in like she could was a sure bet for another network. Now she can't get anyone interested, and she's astounded.

She forgets that she glammed herself up, inflated her skin with botox and knifed it, and no longer is even vaguely relatable to regular moms. She lost her target audience long ago. And people in the industry talk. Her reputation as a nasty diva precedes her. She did this to herself, which is sad for any human being.

There must be other defeats compounding behind the scenes. I do feel a smidge of sadness for her, that she's so self unaware. The judge on DWTS nailed it when she called Kate out on that.

I don't wish ill on Kate, but I also agree with those who said she peddled snake oil for far too long. She's been SO smug. I think the smugness has at last been wiped off her face....

I hope these experiences have humbled her and she'll learn. But her track record says she won't. It's like that old saw about being nice to people on the way up, 'cause you're gonna meet them all on the way down. I'm sure she's seeing a lot of those familiar faces now. And we all know she wasn't nice to ANY of them the first time around!

Body language is fascinating when done properly. That woman with the horribly edited blog who specialises in it too often goes off a photo or two which isn't very useful, let alone accurate.

My mom uses her hands so much when she speaks that my grandfather used to say she would go mute if they were tied to her body. I know people in the business world who've taken lessons to control their body language.

One of the major things that you all rarely touch on, including the fan sites, is that one third of these sextuplets got suspended from school. This is in no way a judgement on these children, but a clear failure in their upbringing. A cry for help, an inability to socialize with their peers, in no way is this acceptable or to be swept under the rug. I have one child, if she was suspended for unacceptable behaviour, I would do everything in my power to get to the root of the problem and correct it. To have 2 out of 6 be expelled from kindergarden, for Christ sake, indicates a huge problem. Again, NOT with the children, but with the situation that might lead to this action. A clear cry for help, and I hope it has been truly resolved, with professionals from the school acting to help the children. This, THIS, is the biggest indicator in my mind that this whole reality stuff is just so wrong. 6 year olds just don't get expelled from school. And Kate? let's expose these kids to some more reality TV? God bless all of them.

As far as the kids missing the crew, if they were all such good friends, why are they not visitors to the Konpound? And the TLC crew changed over the years. I think only one guy at the end was an original. I know he was introduced as the lone holdover on an episode.

I doubt all the speculation that she and Steve had a tiff, but if there's a NBC staffer out there who reads here, would live to hear if Stevie was there.

I sometimes wonder why it is so important for someone Kate's age to still be blonde when she's not really a blonde. Don't most people grow out of experimentation or whatever you call it by there 30s? I've only colored my hair a few times, nothing drastic and I am almost certain after you dye your hair so much it will in the end ruin it. I don't think hair was meant to, I'm going to say suffer because her hair just looks so miserable.

My mom went gray in her 30's, like totally gray by the time she turned 40. Really at first, it was silver and strikingly gorgeous. She would get compliments all the time. Then, it turned gray and eventually white and she would say, "I can't believe I'm this old" when she looked in the mirror.
Me, I'm going to eschew the gray until I just am incapable of doing it anymore. I don't want to look in the mirror and see a gray haired woman. Not that there's anything wrong with going gray, it's just not the way I'm going to roll ;-)
In fact, one of these hair appointments, I'm going to get the guts to go blonde just to see if I can pull it off. If it's a major fail, it's no biggie to go back.

Yep, Kate says her voice is her best feature (think that was when they were leaving Disney). I thought she had lost her mind, lol.

As far as the hair coloring thing, I have been highlighting my hair since my 20's. My hair color was a boring brown, now as I have aged, it's gotten considerably darker (well, except for those white, not gray, hairs coming in!)

I think whatever hair color people choose, it needs to be 'believable', and Kate's hair color is ridiculous. She would look so much better by going back to her natural color and doing some highlights. She's processed her hair so much, it may be permanently damaged. She's also got to cut it short, that long flat 'do makes her long face more pronounced.

LOL, just gotta share this, it's so funny! Kid #4 bounced downstairs a few minutes ago, said she is meeting and photographing our state governor today..lol...told her to tell him, 'mom voted for the other guy'. lolol. Marie: you said nothing wrong. Yes there is nothing wrong with being gray if you want to. But I see so many younger women, who don't style their hair and it makes them look twice as old, as they are. That is a crime, it spells I don't care anymore.

Yes, in this economic time, one does have to put money where it counts, but if you are going for interviews, you have to look good. The salon I goto, is a local one, I pay $50-$60, for wash, dye, cut & style, and sometimes, an oil job (hair treatment, if I need it or not).LOLOL So I cut back on other things. It's a balance. Kate, thinks she is still a celeb(in her mind)Ted Gibson is expensive, even with a comp or discount. There are salon closer to her house that can do the same hair job, for way less than she spend, going to NYC, food, hotel(sometimes), hair salon. And funny she still looks the same, if not worse. This time around she looks worse, her hair is dead/lifeless, and makes her look older than 37.

I like Dunky coffee better than Starbucks, my second choise is Mcdees.

BOy, Kate really has nothing to say, her tweets were lame, & boring. Kate has repeated twice since she been back, on how much stuff she has to catch up on. GEEZ, WOMAN< YOUR HOME ALL DAY< HOW CAN YOU LET EVERYTHING GO.

I agree completely with Tucker's Mom @33. I don't want to look in the mirror and see that gray hair because my mind picture of myself doesn't have gray hair. Yes I color and highlight my hair and have been doing it since my 20's. I wear my hair in a pixi style so there are never any dry/dead ends. Twelve years ago I had breast cancer and wnet through chemo. When my hair grew back I had a big white streak like Cotton Hawes or, for those of you not familiar with the 87th Precinct novels, it looked like the Bride of Frankenstein. Yup, my hair was maybe two inches long and I dyed it! Vanity, thy name me! The joke in our house is that whenever I have to write down hair color my husband always says "this month?". Kate needs to get a more believable color and cut it shorter. The flat look does nothing for her. She kind of reminds me of SJP. I always thought she looked her prittest when her hair was short for the one season of Sex and the City. SJP also has a very long face and the long hair an both SJP and Kate does nothing for that type of face but make it appear longer and more "horsey".

(I can see it now, Kate sitting in a network boardroom, saying, "Thanks for the reality show contract...where are we going on our first trip?")

As far as her spouting she wants peace with Jon, baloney! He outed the reality show for what it was, FAKE, and her demise followed shortly thereafter. It's all Jon's fault, lololol.

I love listening to Matt Paxtons podcast on 5decisionsaway.com
His website. I just listened to podcast #24 Goodbye Mountain from 4/5/12. It is very interesting, a discussion with the cameramen and the sound guys, hearing about how they film the show Hoarders. Matt s view of realityTV is interesting. He has done several pilots, one actually aired. He talks about scriptwriters on reality TV. And his opinion is that Hoarders is one of the most ”real” reality shows. The podcasts are rude and crude in points, but very insightful.
PS Ms Kreider is still boring.

When my hair started to turn silver, I had it frosted. I wash it with purple shampoo and it does not turn yellow. Now, it is mostly white so I spray it with AQUAGE Beyond Shine and it has a beautiful silver shine.

Bet she has that pink phone nestled securely in her good bra, and jumps in anticipation when it rings, thinking it's ABC calling offering her the DWTS spot. The song playing over and over again in her head is "Leaving On A Jet Plane..." All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

Broken Record said...

Kate's interviews are like a broken record-she just keeps playing the same thing over and over again.

This is an excerpt from an article about her being selected as Barbara Walters Most Fascinating People back in 2009. This interview was after Jon had stopped the filming of the show and it didn't look like Kate plus 8 was happening. Almost 2 and a half years later, she's still singing the same song.

Kate it's time to change the record and start playing a new tune.

"Kate Gosselin says her eight children aren't doing so well now that they're no longer in front of the cameras.
"They cried in the van on the way home from school the other day. I finally admitted to them, they kept asking, 'Where's the camera crew? Where's the camera crew? We miss them.' And I said, 'Our show is over.' ...Eight sobbing kids driving home from school," Kate, 34, says on Barbara Walters' The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009, airing Wednesday on ABC."

I can't watch the Hoarders shows (think there are two on different networks?)

I don't know the reasons why some watch, but....all I see is pain and hurt.
All that hoarding is symptomatic of something else wrong with their lives(duh), and it's usually mentioned briefly (traumatic childhood, divorce, death of a child and/or parent, etc)

I just can't watch. It's so sad to see so much pain.
Although they clean up the physical mess, the emotional mess is still there.

PJ's momma,
I am 43 and have been going grey for a few years now. I am a rare one, I suppose, becase I have been waiting for the grey for years. The grey seems to have slowed down for now much to my chagrin. I would love to have Stacy London;s hair! I think it is just "georgeous"!!
I do have some that stick up but my hair has always been unmanageable - so no biggie.
My question for those of you who are my age or a bit older - have you all cut your hair short? Most of the women I know (my age-ish) have ALL cut their hair very short. I have no interest in doing so.

What really hate is the new trend up here for middle=aged women to dye their hair a deep auburn and then have these blonde patches strewn about. NOT highlights mind you, just very random blonde patches. I just don't get it!
Of course, it should go without saying, to each his own and I hope I didn't offend any one!

I really enjoy reading everything here, snark and non=snark alike! So many of you are so funny!

Pardon my typos, I brought my laptop to work and am typing in low light with 2 dogs sleeping on my lap. I work at a doggie daycare and it is naptime now. Usually I just read, but today I wanted to get caught up on kHate and the rest of you, so I brought in my computer.

She did Today earlier the same day, and Donald Trump went on after her. She probably watched more of the show in the green room. Trump was asked who he'd like to have on CA in the future, and he tossed out a bunch of names--but not Kate's. And she was RIGHT THERE. That would have been like a slap in the face to her. Worse, she had recently tweeted about how "they" keep asking her to be on CA, and now Trump is deliberately excluding her from his list of "potentials". Meaning: never gonna happen, Kate.

My grey hair is coming in very dry and frizzy, and wouldn't respond to styling tools, such as straighteners or curling irons. My stylist did a non-formaldahyde keratin treatment that was applied to wet hair after cutting and activated with a high-heat straightening iron. It was only $30.00--around the same amount as the do-it-yourself version (called Keratin Express). My hair is softer, shinier, dries more quickly, the grey hair lays flat and blends in and is much less frizzy in the damp Northwest climate. (I also have 2 shades of highlighting done to help the grey hair blend in.

Dmasy, glad you like Matts podcasts. I went to his book signing last year, and was in line next to his grandmother! Got to meet his mother took, and they are very nice. Matt is just as nice and approachable as can be.
Aggiesmom, I understand, the shows are produced to bring in viewers, so they go for the shock factor in picking people to be on the show. The one Matt Paxton is on is Hoarders on A&E. TLC had a competing show, Hoarding Buried Alive, but that is not as good because the background is narrated. On Hoarders, the people speak for themselves.
Hoarders is really helping peoples and their families, and Matt says he loves his job because they are helping someone. he and his guys and the production crew are coming into houses where the people living there have not had anyone in for years. They really want to help the person.sometimes they can't. Sometimes, like the episode with a guy named ROI, they find so much structural damage that the building is condemned and demolished. But the production company does provide mental health services before, during, and after the filming with their own clinical psychologists or psychiatrists, and after care funds. Matt is the first one to tell hoarders that if they do not follow up with mental health care, things will be quickly back to a hoard, maybe worse than when they started.
PS Ms Kreider should listen to 5decisionsaway. ”we are all just five decisions away from a life changing reality. It goes both ways, you could be give decisions away from sh###ing in a bucket out five decisions away from becoming a millionaire. I've seen both.”

Kate is so single-minded.

The kids miss the "crew" -- Give ME a TV show. The kids want to go here and there -- Give ME a TV show. I want to help other moms save money -- Give ME a TV show.

There are alternate solutions to her dilemmas. The missing crew -- how about invite the good guys (not the predator) to a family pool party? Kids get to re-unite. Travel -- load 'em up and head out to anywhere. A professional cameraman is not necessary. Help other women -- get busy on real, info filled blog entries.

She is stuck on -- Give ME a TV show.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

How right you are Dmasy, but that ship has already sailed for her now too due to her complete laziness. She could have done something with that web page of hers and with that CC blog. Might have stirred some interest to even get her a Web seried. But her posts are so lazy. NO money saving ideas at all, NONE. Her recipes ("I always cook from scratch") are all a little bit of meat, a couple of pounds of noodles, and some cheese and a can of cream-of-somethin' to stick it all together.

She is not blogging about growing herbs and vegetables, how to do it in patio pots if you must, organic composting, how to NOT use paper towels, how to travel on a dime, how to serve a crowd on a dime, how to decorate a pre-teen's room on a dime, how to repurpose fabrics and furniture, how to repair the toaster, how to home brew solar iced tea... for the little bit of stupid blather she puts out there, she never mentions vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing toilets, cleaning under 8 little beds, the economical products she 'uses' and here's some coupons for them, etc.

She is not blogging about homemade popsicles or hanging laundry out to dry to save on the utility bills, making homemade dog treats, carving out routine private time with each child, or anything that might endear her to anyone. Instead she blogs about another stupid casserole with no seasoning that gets 'squeals of delight x8' and how exhaustedish she is from stuffing 175498 plastic eggs. Like anyone believes her.

And even when her site and the CC posts started out lame, she could have kept at it, kept it up, worked harder, tried to find her style, her niche. But she is too damn lazy.

Kate, your kids are gone all day and at least 1/2 of all the weekends. You have someone(s) taking care of their home for you. No need to spend all morning on your beauty routine and all afternoon napping and calling around for more freebies. You waste every opportunity that God gives you.

Mary said...

Layla, thanks for sharing that post from Gather. Whoever wrote that couldn't have said it any better. It describes Kate perfectly.

I think Kates believes that all her "haters" are just from the general public, you know those she would consider beneath her.

Does she have any clue that even people she considers her peers like talk show hosts, columnists and others are saying negative things.

That other post was exactly right. Instead of Kate dissing all the negativity this is one time she should have taken the time to really consider what was being said and learn by it. She would be in a totally different place today and probably have the job she wanted if she had listened to others. She could have spent time learning skills to further her career but she has her nose so high up in the air she can't see the reality of it all.

You have no one to blame but yourself Kate.

There, now I said it. "Well said Sheri."

Thanks Admin,

I really appreciate the forum and the atmosphere you've created here.

In the end, despite the snark, it really is about the kids. We all know that in our hearts.

It truly makes me wonder, that if a bunch of strangers care so much, how must their estranged family feel?

Our frustration is from outside and we express it with snark, criticism and parodies.

How do they express theirs? How do their grandparents, their uncles and aunts, their cousins...how do they deal?

And it's not like Kate has set any precedent and we have no idea of the potential harm to the Gosselin kids.

We need only look at the Dionne Quints as a case in point. Even back then there were people who said it wasn't right what the Ontario Gov't was doing to those girls.

Now though, we have the internet and damn if I'm not going to take every opportunity I can to say that this is wrong, it's abuse and it should be stopped.

Children are gifts, they are to be cherished and treasured. They are NOT commodities to be sold and used just to line their parents', or some tv executive's, pockets.

I read a lot of magazines, pretty much each and every May issue has talked about summer activities, summer travels, summer foods, most with an eye to the economy, tips for parents, etc. I read variations of this every year. So what exactly does Coupon Cabin abd Kate think she brings to the table? Her blogs are boring and vague, her lifestyle choices mock her 'advice', it's just ridiculous. I attended one of their “We Even Grift God” events sponsored by a local church. Kate didn’t give a formal talk; rather, the pastor basically interviewed both Jon and Kate about the kids, the show, and God (bet you didn’t know that Kate is single-handedly responsible for bringing countless ‘heatherns’ to “The Lord” (No really, she said so – and Kate doesn’t lie, right???). She didn’t have any note cards, but her speaking was the usual monotone affect-less droning, and every sentence was peppered with “um” and “like.” Jon stayed silent, but Kate didn’t seem to care or notice – she was positively basking in the spotlight, clearly thrilled to be the center of attention. She fancied herself quite the comedienne, but most of the time she was the only one who got her jokes.

Re: chopping lettuce. On an episode with Jamie, Kate put Jamie in charge of the salad. Jamie startrd to tear the lettuce. Kate grabbed it from her (iirc) and told her to chop it. Jamie protested that you're not supposed to chop lettuce. One guess who won that argument.

I've said many times that the only thing Kate cares about is speed. Not doing things well, just getting it done ASAP. Slap, slop, dump and
drag, and run while you're doing it.

Kate did not support Sherri, did not watch DWTS, or ask her sheeple to call in support for Sherri, but Sherri made an ass of herself and rant on about being on team Kate. Well, Kate, how come you were not on team Sherri? That and the fact that Kate is a has-been reality personality.

Kate's appearances this week were disgraceful. I watched a grifter beg for FREE TRIPS and expect to earn a high salary while doing it. I guess "Mady's" Disney dream in the mail fell through. And Kate's line about the fans begging for this was her once again using her 4 fans for her own greedy monetary gain. She only cares about the $$$$, not for her childrens welfare, not for her fans greedy desires and certainly not about Jon's concerns for the wellbeing of those kids. She even used the crew again in an effort to get her point across...lol.

Tearing or chopping lettuce leads to it turning brown because the contents of the cell are exposed to air and become oxidized. As lettuce ages, the cells break down and browning occurs then too.
I switch between chopping and tearing , depending on the salad I'm making and what lettuce type I'm using.
I just prepped a huge head of red leaf lettuce. I bought it at a farmers market a week ago and it only had a slight amount of browning at the base of some leaves. Now that's fresh!
(I also store my veggies in the fridge in a plastic bad with a paper towel or two thrown in there)
Didn't take any photos of the lettuce or the golden beets I roasted, sorry ;-(

Slap (the kids with a spoon, her husband on national tv), slop (food onto plates, her child raising skills), dump (everyone who doesn't treat her like a stah), drag (hoovers, kids by the arm, men to the fertility doctor), and run (away, something everyone does because of how she treats them.

HA, I wondered about that pineapple too. I work at a food bank though - it's quite easy to get those banana boxes. The stores get so many, they are trying to move them out the back door as fast as they get them. We get loads of them each week and keep them moving. We don't keep them either. They just never stop coming, it's like they breed along with the plastic bags under our sinks! Maybe the farmer got them there.

bearswife, I wouldn't bother with coloring my little bit of gray if it wasn't right in the front/top where I can see it! My hair is so dark that they do look like little antennas. I don't have any that I can see at the temples or underneath, just right on top, darn it! I did cut my hair fairly short a couple months ago, but it grows like a weed and I'm only about 2 months from having it grown out to where it started, which is a chin length, somewhat-inverted bob. Easy squeezy and it actually cooperates better when it has a little length to pull it down. I realized I'm not up for getting a cut every 6 weeks or so, so back to my original style we go.

Hi, everyone. I don't go to Kate's website or CC because I refuse to give her any hits. The only info I get is what's posted here. Thanks for keeping me informed.

Pictures of chopped lettuce, a 50 lb bag of flour, folded towels on a wire rack, etc. How and WHY does she think these things will get her somewhere? They are not even good pictures, much less interesting ones.

Like everyone, I share pictures with family. However, would I take a picture of my linen closet with folded towels or my grocery bags on the counter and pass them around? My family would think I was nuts!

I honestly cannot comprehend how Kate's mind works and what opportunities she thinks she's going get from this stuff. She really is a case study in narccissim (and I KNOW I spelled that wrong!).

Once a Viewer, I never had a problem with humidity until recently. Once I hit perimenopause, I was like, "Whose hair IS this?" As long as I keep the layers (and ends) well trimmed, it does OK. It just waves up, but doesn't get frizzy. If I let it get too long, it goes kind of curly in a bad way. I guess I'm lucky - my hair is silky and smooth with very little effort. If it looks like my dog's butt, I just slap a hat on it and call it good.

Oh great she hogged up all the cereal at the 99 cent store. Here's a hint, it is not a deal if you buy more than you can use before it expires. Obviously, she has her helper girl there today. I'm 43 too, and I have never had really long hair. I recently let it grow almost to my shoulders, but I couldn't stand it because it had a few long layers, and it ended up looking too stringy. My hairdresser didn't agree with me, but it was bugging me. So I went with a chin-length bob. I'm going to let it grow again to see if it does better without layers. I know some ladies our age who have lovely long hair. But, I worked with a lady this past fall who is older - maybe 50 - and her hair was so long it went past her butt! She was a pretty lady, but that was crazy. I can't imagine caring for that much hair! Her college-age daughter had hair just like hers.

Kate's tweets today should just be called "on this twittersode of Kate plus 8". Synopsis--Kate goes to Farmer Henry's and shows what she bought. Kate then shows how to chop lettuce, and then the kids are excited to help "snap" peas. Stayed tuned-maybe Farmer Henry will show his pineapple plantation.

Another boring day in the life of Kate Gosselin. Don't think any TV network is chomping at the bit to sign her on.

Those are not snap peas. They look for all the world like snow peas -- flatter. They are meant to be steamed and eaten whole (or raw). Looks like some of the kids are eating them. I can't wait to read her cookbook -- it will be a comedy!

Dancing With A Kart said...

From NY Daily News today:

The glitzy dance floor of “Dancing With the Stars” has seen its share of tears, fears and jeers.

But no one, in the show’s 14 seasons, has delivered as much drama in the ballroom as reality mama Kate Gosselin.

Even still, a recent media report claims that the mother of eight could take another twirl on the hit ABC show.

“They are going to ask Kate, but hope they don’t have to use her as the cast and crew hated her,” a source told HollywoodLife.com. “She would be a last resort.”

Gosselin, 37, reportedly threw temper tantrums, was uncooperative during rehearsals and failed to impress the judges during her stint on the show during season 10.

It’s an experience that her pro partner, affable Tony Dovolani, has said he wouldn’t like to repeat anytime soon.

Dovolani jokingly told Anderson Cooper during an interview in April that “a lot of therapy was involved” as a direct result of being partnered with the reality star.

“I always felt bad for you because you got stuck with Kate Gosselin,” Cooper sympathized with Dovolani at the time. “I remember watching her dance. I’m still traumatized by that experience.”

Producers for the show have yet to announce a formal lineup for the 15th season, but they have hinted that only the best will vie for the mirror ball in their first all-star competition.

Several speculated stars for the new season include Melissa Rycroft, Kelly Osbourne, Mario Lopez, Gilles Marini and Lance Bass.

“It's a lot of work figuring our schedules,” a source tells Us Weekly, “but producers are determined to give viewers the people they rooted for.”

For all of us menopausal ladies talking abou hair. I'm reading comments about how you want to stop the frizz in humidity. Oh my gosh, I wish I had that problem! My hair has always been very thin, very fine, and very straight; no body whatsoever. When the humidity hits, along with the never-ending hot flashes, my hair just gets plastered against my head. With my very round face, I end up looking like a pumpkin with a very cheap, flat wig on.

I get cuts and perms, but not in the summer. I can't stand to have my hair on the back of my neck and "shaving" the back short is not an option I want either. So for the summer, my hair is long enough to keep up without having the little ends flying about. Then in the fall and winter, I get the cut and perm again.

Oh, to have some kind of body in my hair, even if it was just frizz!

In Kate's neck of the woods, we call them sugar peas. You cook with them on the stove top in a large pot with milk, butter and quartered new potatoes. They are usually a side dish with ham, or some people eat them as the main dish with homemade rolls or bread. For some reason, my dad couldn't eat sugar peas without thick bread and honey.

They were also less than pleased w/ her behavior. Disney prides itself as being "The Happiest Place of Earth." Screaming at your spouse and children until they're in tears over something as stupid as ice cream does not promote the image/brand that Disney promotes. Remember when Roseanne and her family went to Disney? Even her dysfunctional family came out all loving and all smiles. That was Walt's dream, "Fun, Love and Family. A place for every family member, young and old to have a great time." The Gosselins (led by Shrew Kate) did not project that image.

A Mouse Today said...

Dmasy -- you don't snap them to get the peas out of the pod. All you do is snap the point off the top, and then string them down along the side. They are cooked whole. When I was a kid, we'd sit on my grandmother's front porch and do buckets of those things. I always hated when I walked into her kitchen and saw kettles of them waiting to be done!

Westcoaster said...

Like I said earlier, always going for the drama - add 32!, yes 32! , boxes of cereal to add to the chicken, the bag of flour and more snap peas than a restaurant will use in a week. And since her carefully controlled portions are teeny . . .hey Kate, it's not a bargain at 99 cents/box if you don't check the expiration date.

And again we see the casual use of paper plates, she must buy those by the truckload. Using coupons, of course.

Pity Party said...

Seriously? 32 boxes of cereal? Who does that? And I really don't mean that as a rhetorical question. I'm really curious. If your favorite box of cereal is on sale for 99 cents (let's say regularly $3.50) would you buy 32 boxes?

Even when I had two hungry male teenagers living at home who LOVED cereal, I honestly don't think I would buy 32 boxes of anything ever.

For this sale, I would buy maybe 4 or 5 at the most. How many would you buy?

There have been so many comments about Kate's fried blond hair. It would be interesting if some with photoshopping abilities (which I don't have) who could take a picture of Kate and show how nice she could look with dark blond tone on tone hair, cut much shorter with fringe bangs. Her hair does nothing except to elongate her face and the color is way too blond. I'd like to see how much of an improvement it would be to show her with a new style, get rid of the orange tan and maybe even dress her conservatively. I'm betting she could look halfway decent!

It's just like that post she put up about how she does laundry: She blabbered around sorting it this way, then moving piles here, then resorting in that way and so on and at the end she says "I do laundry per person, if that makes sense." In other words, Kate has NO IDEA how to do laundry on a regular basis for 9 people and therefor faked her way through a post that made no sense.

It's the same thing with her meals and menus and talking dog posts: it is all a sham and she isnt talented enough at all the fake posts about things she is lying about. And she is too lazy to walk the walk.

OK, since all types of hair are a topic - here goes.

For those of you who were "thrilled" to learn that after menopause you won't have to shave anymore - sorry, it depends on the person. Twenty years after my surgical menopause and 10 or so years after the remaining glands have slowly stopped working (I did/do have hot flashes/night sweats even now!) I am as hirsute as ever - and with less estrogen and more testosterone - I have a full goatee with fortunately only a bit of upper lip hair. Sorry to tell some of you the reality.

As for coloring hair - I am NOT a girly girl but have colored my hair for nearly 20 years. Gray, brown, blond streaks (in summer) along with streaks of auburn make an ugly, ugly combination! Last winter I let it grow out to see what it looks like and my hair, while still extremely thick, wavy and healthy, looks awful without a good color.

One last comment - regarding Amish Henry - the Amish don't have any problem making money off "the English." When we lived in Maryland, we often went to the Amish Market in Annapolis, not because of the price, but because of the products (sadly, I haven't bought a shoe fly pie since 1998.) But I'm sure Henry is getting the better deal when dealing with Kart.

I really enjoy all of the insight that comes from an obviously intelligent and educated group of women. Administrator, you run a fabulous blog and should be proud!

After reading the comments of what was said on the Today show about how the children miss the crew I'm a bit confused. Let's see Kate didn't you tell us on the Talk, following your AUS/NZ trip that the crew is family? Not friends I do believe you specifically called them family and even "Dads" (even though your children have a father they love and see). If the crew was family why do your kids miss them so much? Why weren't they at the tups party? Or stopping by to hang out since you have been off the air for a while now? Or have you done with them what you do with family once you have no need for them or they aren't treating you like star you know you are, you discard them and it is like they no longer exist. We know that is your M. O. with family right? Or did calling them family and now saying how your kids miss them make it more palitable for the public instead of saying a bunch of guys you don't really know because they change so often come into your private space and follow your kids around like a circus act for 7 years

To Kate, organic and environmental do not go together. Kate isn't concerned about her environmental footprint, she's more concerned about herself and the work she might have to do. ( Oh, poor me!!!!!!!I have 8 kids, and am the only woman to have ever had this many kids, don't you KNOW that?!?!?!)

Kate uses paper plates, paper towels, napkins ( they were on her counter in today's picture) plastic glad bags ( I doubt she washes & reuses them), drink boxes (rather then filling little thermos) she always has a store bought water bottle, rather then a refillable stainless steel bottle, plastic grocery bags vs reusable grocery bags, she has spoke about the swiffers ( all disposable-one use items) She speaks of re-using items in a different area of the house, but never expands on what that might be, but have we ever heard of her speak about recycling plastics, glass bottles, cardboard, or tin cans? Will she compost the ends and pieces of all that fruit and veggies she just bought?

Naaa, I didnt think so.. I am not certain what organic actually means to her, other then somewhere along the way, she thought it made her look good. Talks the Talk, but doesnt walk the walk...

Once A Viewer, hot flashes depend on the person and their family history. In my family, the women always had severe hot flashes that lasted for years and years. On my hubby's side, they had mild hot flashes that stopped after a few years.

I always told my daughter that I hope she takes after her dad's side and has mild hot flash episodes. However, she has made fun of me so much for MY very frequent hot flash episodes, I told her I changed my mind and I hope she takes after my side of the family. Then she'll understand what I have gone through all of these years. Lololol!

Sadly, Kate has not improved – most certainly because Kate sees no need for improvement. I’m sure anyone who has dared to suggest she improve or change anything about herself has been unceremoniously cut out of her life. As for the Love Bucket – oh yes, it was passed. I had never heard of a “love offering,” and was quite puzzled by the whole thing. I assumed Jon and Kate were being compensated for their appearance (they were), so why should I give them free money?? Many in the audience at the time seemed to believe they actually needed the donation. This was well before all hell broke loose – i.e., before we knew of the McMansion, before Jon broke free, before we knew what a fraud the whole Gosselin “reality” was. They also charged $20 to any sheeple fool enough to pay for an autographed photo. Shameless money-grifting aside, I was most shocked by how “Christian” Kate claimed to be. Every other sentence was “the Lord this” and “the Lord that.” Having seen no evidence that they were such conservative Christians on the show, I was quite surprised – especially when Kate bragged about leading some poor dying woman to Jesus on her death bed. At that point I was prepared to use the Love Bucket as a Vomit Bucket. Just goes to show that Kate will say and do anything to keep her “brand” going. She’ll be whatever and whomever she has to be, depending on the audience, IF it will keep her in the spotlight and/or keep the $$$$$$ coming in. Sadly, she is too lazy and/or talentless to keep up the façade. She’s failed at the image of a Christian, a mother, a wife, someone who can’t pay her bills, a blogger, a cookbook writer, a clothing line designer, an author, an organizer, a thrifty couponer, etc. etc. Kate is a wanna-be chameleon, but continues to fail because she’s really just a poisonous snake.

You know, you ladies are much better people than I. (Me?) You are generous and try give Kate credit even where none is due her. You all assumed she would be forced to throw out that unused cereal when it hits it expiration date. *I* assumed she will make the kids eat every bite of it (Kate wont eat it) and when they complain about the awful stale taste, she will tell them "You get what you get and you dont get upset and besides, it's all Your Father's fault that we are so poor you have to eat spoiled food."

However many boxes she claims to have come home with, she will freeze them and assume that invalidates the expiration forever. Because No Never Means No to Kate and that includes spoiled food.

See? I am to the point where I assume the worst about that woman's mothering. {{shudder}}

Griftopia, thank you for sharing your experience with Kate at a local church. Knowing how Kate is I shouldn't be astounded at how she deceived good people in our Lord's church, but I still am. Of all the places to pull a scam, it is so incredibly wrong to do it in His place of worship.

Griftopia - ha! Good one!

Griftopia, one more thing. I have heard of love offerings before as we have done them at my church for guest speakers. The out of state speakers were only paid maybe $100 for their time and they stayed in the home of a church family who also provided their meals. A love offering was often collected after their speaking engagement. I know this because at one time I was the secretary for the outreach committee.

Do you think that it is possible that Kate believes -- really believes -- in each of her personalities as they evolve?

For a space of time, she was the Christian woman who refused selective reduction. Till she morphed into the glamorous blonde who traveled with a married man. She left the Christian identity behind without a blink and decided that anyone who questioned her was jealous.

When she shops with Amish Henry, she is organic.

When she buys paper plates by the 1,000 load she is timesaving.

When she was on displayed in a bikini for People magazine, she was a real STAR.

She believes in each of her selves. Maybe the only person she has convinced is herself.

She does not have the insight to examine her multiple personalities and decide who is really is.

Wow! Remember when Kate was talking about reaching 88,888 followers? When was that? A month or so ago? She's added 3,500 followers since then. It's insane how popular she is (snark).

Code Blue - welcome! Glad you joined us. :)

Senior - ugh! I'm hoping to avoid hot flashes when the time comes. I'm always hot as it is. I'll be a mess with hot flashes. A few months ago I woke up sweating in the middle of the night. The next day I thought, "Was THAT a hot flash?!?" But it hasn't happened since then. I don't remember my mom suffering with them, so maybe I'll be lucky.

Dmasy, I feel very bad for saying this, but I don't think Kate refused selective reduction because of any religious belief. I believe she refused it because multiples were her plan and her claim to fame and money.

I may have strong views about selective reduction, but I don't think they were ever shared by Kate.
