Nine Red Cross celebrities minus Kate

The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter revealed its Philly Home Fire Campaign's celebrity supporters, but just as they warned, Kate's barefoot, low-cut photo didn't make the cut. The Red Cross asked her two days ago to "choose a different photo." But so far, Kate has not publicly responded to the request or changed her photo on her web site.

Kate's "F.U." photo she refuses to take down from her web site:

1. I'm laughing because of they way the RC photo spread is laid out........ an empty spot where kart should have been........ way to remind her that she got cut from the spread!

2. What is the twit above about someone sending her a shirt and she tells then what size to wear? Still grifting for free stuff?

Permanent Name said...

Also, I notice that NOT ONE of the others has any hint of inappropriate pose........

I have to think that the RC was shocked when hers came in...

what a piece of work said...

Let's count the ways Kate screwed with the Red Cross, shall we?

1. Took their iconic blanket and used it in an inappropriate and disrespectful picture.

2. Used the opportunity to shoot a provocative photo some might call "come hither" and others might call "skanky" (or worse).

3. Trivialized the seriousness of the issue the charity was addressing by turning it into a photo op in her expensive, intact, unburned home,

4. In the process, made the picture all about HER, not the Red Cross.

5. Posted HER picture on HER website before the Red Cross got their page up.

6. Got the name of the Red Cross campaign wrong.

7. Most bizarrely of all, FAILED TO PROVIDE A LINK TO THE RED CROSS in the posting on her website.

8. Said "F.U." to the Red Cross by failing to either remove the picture from her own website or to supply RC with a more appropriate one when they asked her to do so.

9. Congratulated herself on Twitter for allegedly driving contributions with the controversy.

10. Failed to use the correct acronym for the charity when tweeting.

11. Put the Red Cross in the position of having to deal with huge fallout from her narcissistic choices for days now.

Did I miss anything?

Yes, the Red Cross should have known better, but who could ever have imagined a nightmare like this one? Nobody, but nobody, does PR like Kate Gosselin.

Yes. Caused the Red Cross to waste precious minutes and hours and DAYS out of their time they should have been helping real people in need to deal with the PR fallout from her inappropriate choice. And WOULDN'T end the PR nightmare right away by just taking it down as soon as she knew it was causing problems.

All kidding aside, Kate really has mental problems. She cannot back down, change her position, or ever acknowledge when she is wrong. She has put herself in a world of hurt because she would not mitigate the damage that she has done by putting that picture on her website. Kate, that sound you hear is the bell tolling for the death of your pitiful career

Admin, I think your post has the name of this campaign incorrect. Earlier today in the last post, when I commented that her photo was not on their site when it launched today, I commented:

Btw, I said it when I first saw her photo and blurb on her website - she has the name of this campaign incorrect. On her site, she refers to it as "American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania's Home Fire Relief Campaign." I don't know where she got the word "relief", but everywhere that I look, I see the Red Cross and others referring to it by the name "Philly Home Fire" campaign. But, Khate screws up EVERYTHING!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

It has to be said. Who gets kicked out of the Red Cross!!! I mean, really Kate??? Their controversies usually revolve around pretty major stuff like the possible misuse of SEPTEMBER 11TH funds, ongoing accusations that they discriminate against gay people giving blood donations, and several disputes they have had with the Dixie Chicks over whether they will join their celebrity cabinet and whether "donations" they gave was supposed to be in exchange for anything.

In other words, MAJOR STUFF.

And here comes little Kate Gosselin shit stirring away. Not content to just play on the sidelines like everyone else does. She manages to shit stir even the REd Cross's pot. Unbelievable.

Number 11 covers it just fine I guess!

Just bears reminded the fallout meant time taken away from HELPING PEOPLE, KATE.

Of course she couldn't take the photo down. She didn't have time to hire a professional photographer, make-up artist, and hair stylist to take another more appropriate photo before traveling to Chi-town. She's a big stah you know. *Snark*

Let's face it one and for all- Kate is a disgrace on far too many levels to even discuss anymore. Never mind her photo of the RC blanket. She really does not have a clueof how to rep an agency well, never did. After all of these years, she is still clueless- Narcissitcmuch? I have to laugh at those defending her, as ... there is no logical reason for her insane behvior. It is really a stretch. Even for those who go in this direction.

Super Mom or a representative of any charity... I think not. It was always, and has always be about Kate Bucks, and her ego. She really needs some help; she is so inappropriate.

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but here is Coupon Cabin's post about Kate:

"WHITING, Ind., November 1, 2011 – CouponCabin.com, a leading online coupon destination, recently announced that Kate Gosselin, of reality TV fame, will serve as a regularly contributing blogger to offer money-saving advice. Gosselin, who has been seen in the press lately using coupons, has been a longtime advocate of couponing.

“No matter what your financial situation is, there’s no reason not to use coupons. It’s like free money in your pocket!” said Gosselin. “I’m thrilled to lend my expertise to CouponCabin.com, where you can easily find the best deals on practically everything.”

Gosselin will be contributing a weekly post on topics like how to stretch a budget for a large family, holiday shopping tips, gift ideas and more. She will be also be sharing top coupons from CouponCabin.com on her own blog at www.kateplusmy8.com.

“Kate has embraced coupons her entire life,” said Jackie Warrick, President at CouponCabin.com. “We look forward to sharing the unique insight she has gained over the years.”

Kate’s first blog will run on Tuesday, November 22 and will discuss how to navigate the busiest holiday shopping day of the year, Black Friday (November 25). She will discuss tips and tricks about how to score the best deals on great holiday gifts."

I cannot picture Kate writing for them weekly. She can't even keep up with her own blog. And I even more can't imagine her posting anything on her site about Coupon Cabin.

However, this is somewhat brilliant marketing on coupon cabin's part. People will be going to their website. Kate's polarizing but she's talked about. Any press is good press. But let's see after the first post goes up, and the consequent complaints about her writing, how long she lasts.

I watched (from the other post) the Chicago news interview and noticed that she has a new reasoning to make it okay to film the kids through college. And that is essentially, if they have a problem with it when they are older, they won't be alone because many other kids have done it as well. Wow, had to dig deep for that. Good one kt.

It's the same as her sentence structure where everyone is accompanied by an exclamation point. Like her life is really all that exciting...

This is Kate trying to manage herself that's all. Is it pretty? Heck no. Does she care? Probably not because she's so focused on herself whether the attention be negative or positive. Though I would think with her string of negative as of late she'd get a little clued in.

I wonder how many days this month and next month she will be away from her kids as an excuse for work. 1, 2, 3...where do I stop?

Busted, big-time, yeah said...

Stir the shit is right...it's an attempt to garner attention for herself. I'm glad the RC saw right thru it and put the kybosh on Kreider.

Thing I don't get...is why is Kate barefoot to begin with? Just seem rather, well, odd at best.

Thing I notice about the other celebrity pictures is that none of them have a full-body shot, spread out like that at least. One that does is dressed at least appropriately.

I agree, you think after all negativity Kate would sit back and go, "Hmmm...my image just isn't working out. What can I do to make myself better?" Hahaha, what a joke! Isn't ever going to happen!

Exactly. All of the photos are either of celebs standing up, or sitting in a chair. All of them are fully clothed. The only person also lying down is Danny Bonaduchi. But he has the blanket spread across him such that you can clearly see he is fully clothed. It's not like he put on a tank top and then wrapped himself in it to cover most of the tank top and look naked.

Admin, not to belabor the point, but I do think it is Khate who got the name of the campaign wrong. She inserted the word "relief". Yes they provide relief services for victims of home fires and this campaign is designed to focus on that.

The article that you linked to states just that - this campaign is to highlight Red Cross Philly's (American Red Cross, Southeastern PA Chapter) relief efforts for home fires.

I have seen both Red Cross Philly and two of their employes tweeting for two days now about the "Philly Home Fire (Campaign)", which is also the hash tag used, and the name of the website they launched for the campaign. The word "relief" has not been used in the name of the campaign at all.

Also, last night, they linked to some photos of the display and there they refer to it as the "Philly Home Fire Campaign":

http://www.flickr.com/photos/redcrossphilly/sets/72157627972089121/

Sorry, I know it's tedious, but I do believe that Khate is the only person who referred it the campaign this way and I'm pretty certain she has the name of it incorrect (par for the course with Khate).

I do have to note that there was just one tweet (out of dozens) where one Red Cross Philly employee called it the Philly Home Fire "Blanket the City Campaign".

Warning - if you are at the point of Khate saturation for the day, this might just about push you over the edge. She is SO annoying!

She's at Coupon Cabin's offices, being interviewed. She just gives a few brief (and annoying) comments. This is at the same time as that other clip in the E! article, so I think some coupon employee was just the one asking her questions, as I highly doubt that E! News sent someone there to cover this ridiculousness about a blog. Also, the E! article earlier today mentioned that that first video clip was "a just-released video clip" from Coupon Cabin. So, this clip must just be part of that same package they sent out.

Why do I find it hard to believe that Kate actually can fit into a small t-shirt?

I wear a small, I'm short and thin and not as generous as Kate is in particular area of her growing chest. Come on. A small? Is she kidding?

I found it interesting that Danny B had the creativity to make his photo appear as though he'd just given blood - lying down, a blanket and band aid with a blood spot. Props to him.

That Chi town interview pic...oh my. That plum brown blush is horrific. Reminds me of when "heroine chic" was the look on the runway umpteen years ago. Li Lo and Katie have more and more in common every day. Did K. Or the news show makeup person make the decision to try and match the blush to her dress/top? When I first saw that still pic I thought, my goodness, that blush, that cat eye makeup gone horribly wrong, and her mouth! Either the filler gave way on the one side or the dental anesthesia wore off...could drooling be far behind?

As for her stint on The View last week, as on the Emmy show, she was the brunt of a joke...dead reality career with a dead and over show, to paraphrase Sherri during her introduction. Whoopie's question's intent was missed by a lot of the sheeple though not lost on K. She KNOWS her behavior was atrocious all those "seasons". Passing off as maturing only works as an excuse Kate if you actually mature.

My biggest outrage is over the Colin and the BBB incident. The potential temp of those pipes and catalytic converter. Has she never heard of leaves under a car catching fire? Or a piece of paper. She is an idiot. Apparently, as long as she gives her permission Colin can crawl into a 451 Degree F oven - that"ll learn him!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

It depends on the shirt! Saying you want a small is silly unless you know how the sizes run...i.e. if they run small or large.

I'm wearing a large right now because according to the web site chart that best fit my measurements. But I have several shirts that are small or medium that fit just as well. Not sure how Kate can say I need a small without knowing what a small means.

Permanent Name said...

She wants the small size to make her girls look large and sexy..... LOL. Nothing like a tight shirt to keep kart relevant.

But hey, don't blame her - it's never her fault - no doubt purseboy chose the shirt size. He is the boob size expert, after all!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

That said thought I was a bit surprised to find Kate was quite petite in person.

OVERALL, she's pretty small boned actually, in my opinion.

Of course she's the type of person that LOVES to remind people how small and thin she is. Daily. Hourly. Annoying.

Oh you know what, now that I think about it, I also tend to still think in European sizing, not American. I should really though.

Either way, if she asked for a small, with way American sizes are it might not fit anyway. You can be a small in one store and a large in another.

Nobody Likes a Narcissist said...

Permanent Name said...

2. What is the twit above about someone sending her a shirt and she tells then what size to wear? Still grifting for free stuff?

-------------

I saw that and sort of tracked down the whole flow of the conversation. I'd love to post it here, because I find it fascinating how she continues to use Twitter to grift, but I'm just too tired even to cut and paste.

So, in a nutshell - a mom who seems to be a serious runner who has done several marathons and co-authored a book with another running mom, tweeted Khate today. She and the book co-author have a blog about running and I think it has a mom sort of focus. They also sell tee-shirts there with sayings about running moms. The woman tweeted Khate and offered to send her their book to help her get ready for the Las Vegas marathon. Never one to miss a freebie, Khate jumped at it, and tweeted her lackey/free personal assistant/devoted sheeple Barb Gilmer. She's the one who gives out Khate's address for sheeple (including teens, tweens, and ten year olds in England) to send Khate gifts for her and the kids, and also books to sign for them.

So, Khate added Barb to the tweets and told the woman to get the address from Barb so she could send Khate the book about running. The woman immediately tweeted Barb. She also then offered a tee-shirt to Khate, linking to the page of merchandise on her website. Khate jumped at that and told her size small, (without even a thank you). Khate also said she wouldn't be wearing it during the marathon, because she has to wear her regular clothes (that she's used to running in, I guess - oh yay, pink sports bra and fugly gray shorts!)

I think this woman's just using Khate for the publicity and/or followers she thinks she might get. Scrolling back through some of her tweets, I noticed that she's been trying to get more Twitter followers and when someone new follows her, she tweets a thanks for following and thanks for the "support" (hmm, who does that sound like?...Khate!)

Also, the woman had tweeted something about looking for "inspiring" moms who had taken up running. Khate was not included in those tweets; it was just a general tweet. Her Twitter page says that her second book is coming out next year, so maybe she' looking for fodder for that.

If i have the time and patience later, I'll try to past the conversation here.

My goodness woman a trainer would be a good thing. If you do poorly no doubt you'll blame it on "no trainer". If you do well, well then you'll prove - or so you think - marathons are just another of your "talents", like that gift of gab, and consider yourself an expert. Who knows, maybe "The Biggest Loser" would hire you...snark.

Kate, tons of people run half and full marathons having never had the benefit of a trainer.

BTW, you do NOT have a "knack" for nutrition. You should be very nervous about the upcoming marathon. For your children's sake, please get a thorough checkup with blood work and a doctor's release that you are indeed fit to run.

This probably belongs in the last thread. I kind of feel weird how she says the kids like to watch the dvds. Every one of the shows I have watched didn't seem appropriate for kids to watch. The things they both said or she said when it was just Kate+8 were never comments I thought kids would like. It seems too grown-up, the parents discussing their relationship shouldn't be heard by kids. It would be interesting to add up the minutes with the kids vs the minutes with the grown-up couch talk. I don't think the kids got as much air time as the parents.

Did anyone let their young kids watch this show?

The 'Talk" will be in New York for a week in Dec.was mentioned on todays show.Hope this does not mean that Kate will be a guest host.
----------------------

Thanks for the info. I just checked their website:

"The Talk" hosts announced today they will venture east for the first time, presenting a week of special episodes shot on location in New York City to air Monday, December 12 through Friday, December 16 (2:00 PM, ET / 1:00 PM, PT) on CBS. Come see us live in the Big Apple!
-------------

It's not live, because when I clicked for ticket info, the calendar shows one taping on the morning of Monday 12/12 and two tapings per day on Tuesday and Wednesday (so, all five shows for the week will be taped in just three days).

Well, let's see. TONS of celebrities are in NY to do all the morning shows and others, and The Talk would want Khate on? She didn't do too spectacularly last time, and she has nothing to promote but a weekly blog on a coupon site. While Khate and the sheeple would think this is a perfect opportunity for her, The Talk would have to be crazy to waste a slot on her! Although, from what I've seen, they haven't been able to get a lot of great bookings in L.A., mostly people on CBS shows, I think.

Does every thing Kate say have to sound like a question?

++++++++++++++=

LOL, Hippie. When I went to college in New York, I got that comment all the time and was asked if everyone in my area talks that way. Some of my friends liked to torment me about it, and in conversations, they'd talk like that to me. They wanted to know if I was Amish. I never realized I was doing it until I caught myself doing it when I listened to a recording of one of my speeches for a communications class. I laughed about it, and eventually that "end of sentence inflection" went away. I guess that Kate never lost hers. It must have something to do with the county dialect. Hers, however, is really noticeable and annoying.

It's bad. Front page coverage again today in our local newspaper - big headlines "PATERNO FIRED."
Right next to it was another shocking story, "Principal accused of sex abuse." This is the acting principal at Lancaster Mennonite High School. Mennonite! Accused of molesting international students when he and his wife hosted them for a year in their home.
What is going on in this country? You just never know who to trust. Hear that, Kate?

&&&&&&&&

Ah but what if he gets employee of the month?!! Then his pretty picture could be on the wall too and then how will Kate distinguish the two?

In all seriousness, Kate can suck it. Any job (that isn't immoral, like prostitution, or exploiting your kids) deserves respect if you work hard at it and support your family.

Is it that we can't leave our kids alone with anyone at any time anymore, even people we know and thought we trusted?

The whole thing hurts my heart.

This was all in Kate's own backyard. I can't believe after Blankinship and now this out of PA that Kate went on WGN today and was STILL doing her whole F.U. I'll have the crew over to play with the kids and dress them and do whatever I damn well please.

Not only could she use some common sense and awareness, but also, a whole heck of a lot of sensitivity to how devastating this is to PA and Penn Staters.

Wow, how embarrassing, looks like the Brady Bunch is missing Bobby Brady in that picture. But seriously, they could have contacted Taylor Swift to do this and she could have bought them a big following of young people for this campaign.

NLAN, thanks for link of the screen shot to that nasty blog, but it's NOT exactly the same screen shot that was tweeted to S. Buddy. I wished I had printed it out when I saw it, but take it for what you think, the Dave email address was not blacked out, there was no name after Hi and it was not signed below. Also want to point out one more thing, this Dave guy is the director of communications for R/C Philly, why would he not sign his full name & title on an email to worried donors. If any of my emails to my customers went out without my title & full contact info, I would get blasted by my boss.
I would never sign my first name only on any business email unless I have a good friendly relationship with that vendor or customer.

Admin., I apologize for beating a dead horse to death. I wrote to their general info email too just to see what kind of automated response I would get. Nada.

-------------------------

Exactly. It's sad we live in a world like that, but it's well known that pedophiles deliberately seek out jobs where they can have regular contact with kids and often become trusted members of their communities. This is exactly what my post was about a couple of weeks ago when we were discussing sleepovers. I have seen far too much in my professional life, as I'm sure has Admin. I mentioned some of my experiences with these pillars of the community in my post, but I deleted it without posting it. I did save my comments first, so maybe I should post it after all.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Sam, I think they are trying to just let this go. They were responding a lot yesterday to those that contacted them. Today, everyone is reporting they've stopped contact about this issue.

I say let them let it go and move on and help people.

I also am reading the Grand Jury report.....unbelievable the amount of people that knew something fishy was up but didn't do anything. I want to say that other people would have handled this differently. But it makes you wonder, if you're in their shoes, would it have been different? Hard to think about. The sociology of this all is just one aspect that is so fascinating. How do human beings let this happen?

They are now saying that his retirement in 1999 was "forced" and all part of a big coverup to get that child molester OUT. It makes PERFECT sense. And it makes the story even SICKER, it means that so many people, educators, were involved in orchestrating one of the biggest coverups in college history. It will go down in history, I firmly believe.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Exactly. We were taking about this at work. Of course we all deal with this all the time, those are stories that are mind blowing but I cannot share of course, but this is the M.O.

I remember your post last week about this and it was so spot on. And this is our frustration with Kate. IF she had half a brain she would be aware of how pedophiles set up shop. The examples are there, over and over and over. Sure there are pedophiles that just flat out pull from their own families or other random encounters with kids. But if a pedophile is able to function in a socially acceptable manner in society and is reasonably bright, he/she will seek out a "socially acceptable" job or activity to prey on his/her victims.

Catholic priests: Set up shop with the alter boys
Boy scout leaders: Funnel kids into opportunities to be alone with them like camping trips
Blankinship: Figured out a way to have access to 100's of hours of footage of young kids include naked kids without anyone questioning it
Sandusky: Uses his coaching status to set up a charity specifically for young boys then grooms them

These people either orchestrate and manipulate their way into having wide access to kids or footage of kids or they go after kids directly.

For Kate to say even TODAY with this story blowing up everywhere she wants the crew to come on over the water is fine! Is ASTOUNDING.

Admin, the part about the ten year old in the shower is sick. How anyone can see that, (read what he says it was, what he saw and believed he was seeing), can just go home to call his father, and then report it to his boss the next day is freaking beyond me. I don't care how shocked he was. A decent human being would have taken the kid to another room and called the police. If that were me, I would have beaten the shit out of that fucker before the police even got there. I hope a whole lot of people burn in hell for this, I really do.

Kate says KYOO-PONS. It's distracting. She is incredibly ugly in the Kyoopon Cabin Interview and the Chicago morning news interview. The plastic surgeries and Botox have rendered her grotesque. The hair is obviously fake, the makeup clownish, and her face is just plain scary. I mentioned this on another thread, but I think she's loaded during the morning interview. Her flat demeanor, the way she's hesitant when she speaks...I'm guessing Xanax.

I guess you could call it running - it was more like trudging along with her arms in a really weird position. She was alone. No Steve nearby for security or to carry her water bottle.

I believe that someone else here said they ran into her (not literally) on one of her new routes.

Didn't you say a few days ago admin that Paterno did the right thing by reporting it to his superior and then didn't follow up with it?

I'd be doing alot more than what paterno did if it had been me. Hoefully everyone would.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Karma, that's a rather harsh name. Having since read a lot more details, I do think everyone who knew should have gone around the bosses who did nothing and report it to the police. I think the lesson is, you cannot trust your boss to handle things the right way. Sad.

The Grand Jury report names I counted at least a dozen people who knew something was up. A dozen people decided not to call the police. If it were us, would we be the one to call the police while everyone else brushes it under the rug? I think we'd all like to think yes. God I hope so. But all these people not doing it makes me wonder, is this what humans do when put in this situation?

Not only pedophiles, there are sexual predators everywhere. Just the past month and half in NYC, there were 8 cases of women being sexually assaulted in one neighborhood alone. Last week a young woman beat the crap out of the guy that had his hand up her skirt in a crowded subway station. She was brave enough to run after the guy and snapped his photo on her smartphone and they caught the creep the next day.

I am truly disgusted by the faculty and some of the students at Penn State for their lack of reaction and after the firing of Joe Pap. What is happening to common human decency? Football is more important that the crimes committed to these young boys? Any of them thought what if one of those boys was your child, your grandchild, your little brother, your cousin, your neighbor's kid??

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Nobody, actually on the radio everyone was asking, how do you see a little boy being raped and not beat the shit out of the perp right there and then??

I wish, wish, wish, that McQueary had simply just called the cops right there and then. Pulled out his cell phone and called the cops. I wish, wish, wish Joe Paterno had simply just called the cops right there and then. Grabbed his phone and called the cops. I think they sincerely thought they were doing what was right by everyone to have administration deal with this in a manner that was appropriate. It was likely, the worst mistake of their lives. And as a result more boys were molested.

I can say all day how **I** would react, how I would beat the shit out of him and get every police officer in the state to lock him up. I HOPE that is what I would do. It makes you wonder do I have the courage to do that when you see people you have seen a million examples of that are good people not do that. Human beings are ultimately very flawed, complex creatures who don't react how we're supposed to always.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Sam, sometimes what helps me to process something this horrific is to think that maybe this will make people really think twice whenever they see something bad happening. Not necessarily sexual abuse, although certainly it's possible, but any kind of thing happening that is morally wrong. Don't let it go, don't turn a blind eye, don't tell your boss and have them turn a blind eye. Have courage and do something about it.

This truly is a "What Would You Do?" situation like they have that show on ABC. Maybe it's good for us now and again to be reminded, What would you do? Not this, hopefully.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

By the way, I know that's how I've felt about the Gosselin kids for awhile especially when filming was at its worst. No I will not just let this go. No I will not turn a blind eye. How can I do that?

)))))))))))))))))))))))))((((((((((((((((((

I respectfully completely disagree with that statement. A person is told he witnessed the rape of an underage child and thinks Well, I'll just tell my boss. I disagree that they thought they ere doing the right thing. I think they knew what the implications were and as a direct result of that thinking, washed their hands of it.

I don't care how busy the police are with people who call in thinking they heard or saw something not right. Didn't you say the police would be backlogged with people calling in reporting false crimes?

The message here should be: if you see or hear something that doesn't sound quite right ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION.

Admin., I still have lots of hope for humanity despite the ugliness and I commend all bloggers & posters for not backing down and continue to point out the truth.

My 74 yr old mother has severe arthritis in her knees and bone spurts in her ankles. She lost her footing and fell forward and hit her head on the sidewalk. Whole bunch of strangers came to "Grandma's" rescue, contacted me and my sister at work, waited with mom at the emergency room until we arrived. I will forever be grateful for the kindness of those strangers. (Gov't finally gave mom a PT attendant after this incident)

I hope the Gosselin kids will have the comfort of knowing that there was a bunch of strangers who worried about them.

Concerned teacher said...

In my state, if anyone employed by a school district has reason to suspect child abuse of any kind, they must report it immediately (within less than 30 minutes) to police and/or CPS. Failure to report is a FELONY.

How these egregious crimes at Penn State could be swept under the carpet is mind boggling. Absolutely unbelievable. My heart breaks for the innocent victims and their families. It reminds me of the Catholic church looking the other way for centuries while their own clergy committed unthinkable crimes.

I agree with Admin. The sociology surrounding these coverups deserves serious research. The most vulnerable in society--those who cannot speak for themselves--always suffer the most. It's sickening.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

BusyMom, Schwartz was head of campus police. Every single person who witnessed something here and told someone, told their boss. I think at a big corporation, that is what you are trained to do. Tell your boss. I think they were unable to step out of the mindset of "if something bad happens tell your boss" and not realize that sex abuse is a whole other level and goes beyond, just tell your boss.

Of course the bigger names get a lot of attention. But did you know a janitor saw it too? Jim Calhoun's account is one of the most disturbing. He was a janitor, saw Sandusky licking on a kid, and told his colleagues. They all thought they would be fired if he told. Nonetheless, he told his boss. Know what his boss said? Told him, if you choose to report it, here's who you report it to. (I don't know who that is it doesn't say). Jim said he fought in the Korean war and never saw anything like that....and yet, it stopped there, between him and his boss. Yet another failure.

If you CHOOSE to report it, WTF??? It wasn't exactly an open and welcoming environment for any of these people to help these poor kids.

It's just interesting to me that systematically down the line people told their bosses, and systematically down the line, they were shut down. I think everyone needs to be blamed and take responsibility, but I think there are definitely greater degrees of blame for some than others. What I find ironic is those that told their bosses seem to be the only people stepping forward saying I really screwed up. Where are the people they told and where is their accountability? Why is it that the lowest guys on the totem poll are the ones really stepping up here and owning this travesty??

The whole thing is equally tragic and fascinating, the way humans react.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

BusyMOm I should also qualify that i think they thought they were doing the right thing INITIALLY by telling their bosses and getting them involved. I think where the failure was, is that after the bosses were told and they did nothing, they should have pushed them to contact police or simply called police themselves.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Proper Procedure, if you've been reading tonight, I just said "Having since read a lot more details, I do think everyone who knew should have gone around the bosses who did nothing and report it to the police."

I stand by I see nothing wrong with telling your boss when something bad happens. I do see something wrong however with not ALSO telling police when they do nothing. You can do both, which is what should have been done.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Concerned Teacher, some of these infamous "bosses" are indeed mandatory reporters and are being charged. PA law said something about being required to notify police within 48 hours once an employee discloses sexual abuse. They are also required to inform child protective services. The report goes into a bit of detail about how that is one of the charges, failure to report.

The report outright said they found the people who witnessed it very credible, McQueary and so on. They found the "bosses" not credible and that's when they talk about charging them. Good on them.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

There was another police investigation I think in 1998 when if I recall, a parent reported some fondling to the police. Campus police asked PA police to close the investigation. Then, not a year later, Sandusky was pretty much forced to retire. At a young age, like 55. In the report, he is upset about it--it seemed that it was not his choice.

There is speculation now that Sandusky's retirement was forced, a way to just get him out of there knowing this stuff was brewing and was going to be trouble. Just pass him off, get rid of him. If true, it takes it to a whole other level. As in one of the biggest coverups in college history level.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Speaking of witnesses, does anyone wonder in all the years Blankinship worked for TLC, if someone, anyone, saw something??? These people have a way of being noticed eventually. I am willing to bet odds are YES. At a company that small???

Maybe this will give those people the courage to help with that investigation. Anyone who sees anything should SPEAK UP. Be it about Blankinship or anyone.

This may directly affect this whole Blankinship thing, we'll have to see what happens and who comes forward.

_______________________________

This is what some humans do when the desire to protect their source of power and money overshadows all else, including morality and decency. All those people who knew about the abuse by this coach, but kept quiet, did so because they did not want to tarnish the image of their sacred football kingdom and jeopardize the program.

Even more despicable, I am convinced that it was easier for everyone involved to keep quiet about the abuse because the victims were at-risk or troubled "invisible" children. Had McQueary stumbled upon Sandusky sodomizing the child or grandchild of a coach or faculty member, you can bet that the police would have been called.

But don't despair, Admin. I truly believe that there are more people in this world who would have stepped in or spoken up or kept pressing for answers than not.

We just don't often hear about all the decent souls who do the right thing. There is no drama in that, which is actually a good thing. It means that decent behavior is more of the norm.

even though i'm not wild about the blanket campaign..i can still easily see how simple it would have been for kate to fix and resend photo. i'm mostly irritated about how she handled the issue. i can totally understand her screwing up the pic. i mean we see how she dresses. she isn't know for being conservative anymore. so fine..she screwed up. however ..had she just fixed the pic and said a quick sorry it would be a non issue.
also had she not posted it on her website before they released the campaign photo i bet they would have just cropped it for her to make a head/torso shot. heck they may have discovered for themselves the low neckline and "helped" her by photoshopping it higher for her.
it was her refusal to honor their simple request that probably made them decide to just outcast her from the celeb photos all together.
it one thing to make a boo boo. it's a whole other to ignore it once you do and that in my opinion is where she made it an epic fail.
as i said before..the whole point is..the red cross got a little backlash and simply wanted it to go away since it was taking time out of their day to have to answer the emails/calls regarding it. they also had to deal with their twitter being a place for foul language. now they even have people raving for apologies for kate! a simple photo change and apology would have made all sides happy and kate could have joined cosby, bacon and others in the campaign photos.

also, kate should have seen what was happening on her twitter from people contacting red cross with awful language and addressed it to stop the fighting. she should have thanked her fan for supporting her but let them know she WANTED to change the photo so that the red cross can get back to business.

Barbee, we only have Kate's word that the kids are lamenting the loss of plane rides and film crews and other privileges associated with the show. Some of them may, but I can pretty much guarantee that Cara doesn't. The pictures of her from the past 6 months or so show a child who is so "over it". I agree with you, though, that these perks should be given to kids who don't normally get "treats" -- inner city kids, kids of deployed military, kids who've lost a parent to the war, kids of first responders who died in the line, kids whose parents are dealing with a terminal illness. They are deserving of some fun and special treatment. I can't say that I think Kate's kids don't deserve what they've been given. I do think that they aren't the only kids who deserve special treatment. All kids should have the very best we can give them.

readerlady, I agree. Kate always tries to garner sympathy USING her children. She actually expects sympathy when she says how much the kids miss traveling. I actually expect Kate to tell those kids that that's what all those cd memories are for, that they will always have them, and that they and she should be eternally gratefully for the opportunities that they've been afforded.
It truly makes me ill when Kate expects sympathy for setting up a lifestyle that she can not continue. It was always going to come to an end at some point and the fact that she has NEVER said, hey, the kids will be OK and I"ve been preparing them for this, so don't worry about them, they're very fortunate is never called out. How about, " I wish for others to have a fraction of what we've been blessed with, so give to them."
But, she's never satiated and expect at least some of her kids to turn into bottomless pits like her.

******
It's not just you, it's just about everyone. There *is* a large difference in Kate's appearance over the past 2 years or so, to the point that she truly does look vastly different, but I think it can be explained away.
The only drastic thing that I can tell that she's done is breast augmentation. It's a great job, too. Just fuller, a bit bigger, perkier, but not Heidi Montag clown bazooms.
Her hair alone would change her look. From short to long and ultra-blonde.
Her tanning has changed her appearance a great deal. I'm not talking about how it negatively affects and ages skin (that chicken will come home to roost in about a decade), but how it changes how one looks.
Kate has had veneers and whitening and her teeth have so changed that I think it affects the external appearance of her mouth. I'm not sure about a chin implant, but don't rule it out. It's not a huge procedure and it's a quick recovery.
Kate has had botox, no doubt. The biggest give away is that those deep lines that she had between her eyes is gone and her forehead doesn't wrinkle. Her brows are more arches and just plain higher. This may be something more invasive.
Fillers like Restalyne? Maybe. I think it's a really neat product and can give those very subtle changes to the face that you just can't put your finger on.
Kate has lost a great deal of weight.
Kate is most often seen in these photo ops with full-on makeup and hair. I mean, in the CC office photos and film footage. no one else looks camera ready, so she photographs really well between the layers and lighting.
It's a long list when I parse it out, so it's no wonder she looks so vastly different.
I don't think all the changes are bad and she's definitely more glamorous. I think she's very secretive about all that she's had done because hair extensions and peroxide simply can not account for her current visage.

If that is so, then why does she tower over others when on various talk shows, even when she is sitting down?

Petite doesn't necessarily have to do with being short or tall. Petite can mean small-boned, fine-featured, not a stocky athletic build.

WHY are HER kids any more deserving than any other kids? WHY should HER kids keep receiving all the FUN stuff? Why don't these shows start giving these perks and benefits to the kids of our military personnel serving overseas? They are missing a parent (some of the kids have never seen their dads having been born after he deployed). W H Y keep rewarding this annoying, obnoxious POS for her rudeness, greed, and the whole laundry list of her nastiness? Kick her ass to the curb, roll the BBB over her 'fake girls', pull her big, H U G E foot out of her mouth, slap her upside the head with one of her always awkwardly held flippers and ... make her go awaaaaaay, PLEEEEEZE!!!!!! !!

----

Would you like to tell us how you really feel? :) But, I agree! The kids are going to have to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them. If they miss the plane trips, let Kate take them on her own dime. After all, everything she does is for the kids. They miss the vacations, she needs to see to it that they go.

...Why would a study of the human behaviour even be needed?
__________________________________

Hi mom of 2. Studies like this have been conducted and will continue to be conducted so we can learn more about WHY people don't always do the right and HOW we can help people along in doing the right thing. While it seems inconceivable that not all people would respond to situations like this in the right way, there are many reasons for such behavior.

Fear of retribution (which brought about Whistle Blower laws), fear of losing one's power or money, confusion as to what was witnessed (did I really see what I think I did?), fear that reporting an act or crime may erroneously point to one's complicity, fear of liability (which spawned Good Samaritan laws), the belief that someone else will report, and the compulsion to "not get involved" to avoid the hassle of an investigation are all examples of how human behavior can interfere with "doing the right thing."

These things provide explanations of why some people don't get involved, but they do not excuse not getting involved.

A recent tragedy in China has left that country doing much soul-searching and questioning its human behavior. In October, a 2-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle. About 18 people passed by the child, doing nothing, as she lay bleeding and dying in the street. Then another vehicle hit her. She was finally pulled off the road by an old woman. The child later died at the hospital. This horrific tragedy will no doubt lead to a greater awareness in China that it is time to slow down and "see" other people.

I hope that there will be positives to come out of this Penn State horror story. I hope it will give people pause so they can evaluate their moral compass.

Regarding the Penn State issue, I think that those who knew about the molestation should have gone to the ultimate authorities, but were good ole' boys in a good ole' boys institution and they washed their hands of it. By the letter of the law, Paterno did what he was required to to. By the spirit? No way.
It reminds me of this quote:
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Mom of 2, at the time when this story broke what I was reading suggested the Paterno did not know any details other than something happened that was upsetting. It seems perfectly appropriate to get your boss in the loop on something like that. No, I don't think you should run to the police over every little thing, but is has become quickly apparent this clearly doesn't fall into the category of a "little thing" whatsoever and I don't think anyone would suggest that. My gut reaction was based on the facts I knew at the time, the facts changed, my reaction changed with it.

What I said was, you SHOULD be able to go to your boss with little and big things and expect them to take care of it. In other words, it is a shame an employee cannot trust that when they go to their employer with some information, it will be handled the right way. Mandatory reporting laws even provide instructions for what the bosses should have done when Paterno went to them. They ignored them.

I daresay tons of people have gone to the boss over the years when something bad happened. The hard lesson in this is, don't trust your boss to handle it. Follow up. Ask how it was handled. Don't be afraid to turn to the police if that wasn't satisfactory. I think there is good to come out of this in examining how a culture was created where this didn't happen, and how it will never happen again.

Right and the fact that that is an intimate tone associated with a conservative organization and a blanket given to people after horrific house fires.

If this were just a red blanket with no Red Cross logo on it and no connection to a charity, eh, I'd still find it a little weird, but not nearly as bad as what this was.

Going back to the Blankinship thing for a second, I thought I remember that on the RV trip Kate met the driver for the first time, had no clue who he was. Sure enough, look what I said in my recap:

"“Hi, I’m Mike,” the RV driver says as he shakes Kate’s hand. Mike what? This is a man who is going to be around her children 24/7 and she’s just meeting him now? Hm, has he gotten a background check or did production just pull some random trucker off his rig at a weigh station somewhere in Maryland on the way up? Hm, you don’t look like a child molester, how would you like to drive around an RV for a couple weeks with Kate Gosselin? Would a little extra hazard pay sweeten the deal? Okay fine, a lot extra."

In light of what has now happened, I find this all the more frightening.

It's a win/win usually. People want Kate (and Jon and the kids and their home) to be seen wearing products, using products, eating products, getting photographed in their place etc.
It's marketing, plain and simple. Kate and Jon and the kids and their home have been billboards and living, breathing advertisements so that companies can make money.
Kate figured this out YEARRRRRRS ago, and she's been fine with it ever since.
You use her (and the kids), she uses you. I don't think there's a thing wrong with it, as long as 2 consenting adults agree to do it. When the kids are used as the largest tourist campaign the state of PA has ever seen, well, that's a different story.

Dallas Lady said...

Soooooo:

1. The editor of 23 episodes of Kate's show with her 8 kids is charged with 10 counts of child sexual exploitation (producing and/or distributing child pornography). He is listed as one of the top 25 in the sting in "heavy trading of child pornography."

2. Kate's response: never heard of him.

3. Jon's response contradicts Kate's. She most certainly met him, possibly more than once.

4. As the editor, he had access to all the raw footage of unblurred half-naked kids on potties, in baths, etc.

5. As the editor, he might have known members of the camera crew.

6. Kate has said repeatedly the camera crew were the kids' "daddies" and the kids miss them so much.

7. Kate has said repeatedly that she still invites members of the camera crew over to her house to "dress them in snow suits" and "play with the kids."

The conclusion anyone could come to is Kate knows of the possibility/reality of her children being harmed and doesn't care.

By the way, does anyone still really believe she has a contract with TLC until February? I sure don't.

BusyMOm I should also qualify that i think they thought they were doing the right thing INITIALLY by telling their bosses and getting them involved. I think where the failure was, is that after the bosses were told and they did nothing, they should have pushed them to contact police or simply called police themselves.

*****************

I could not disagree more. The failure was in not calling the police immediately. You witness a child being raped, you call the police then and there. Someone tells you they just witnessed a child being raped, you pick up a phone and hand it to them. If the person refuses to talk, you do. My God. If someone had witnessed a murder on campus by a fellow staff member, would you think it's justifiable not to call the police then? The man witnessed the rape of a child, not behavior he thought seemed odd, but wasn't really sure he was interpreting correctly. The response is indefensible.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I think it's been widely speculated that Jon likely met Blankinship on their many trips to North Carolina that were filmed. Since Kate always went with him, people are assuming that it's probably pretty unlikely, given the control Kate had over him, that Jon went to Figure 8 offices without Kate glued to his side. I would like Jon to state whether Kate was with him, but I don't think he's interested in throwing her under the bus like she is him.

Ramona, it SHOULD be getting traction. I keep waiting for some kind of follow up. What's the status, what has the investigation revealed so far?

I see nothing.

If people are going to be outraged over Penn State, there should be outrage over some creep locked away in an editing room with hundreds of hours of footage including naked kids. Different circumstances, but they're all pedophiles. One just had greater access to kids because of who he was! What if Blankinship was in his shoes and was able to have a children's charity?

I know we're outraged here, but the media response treated it like just another story--two or three days and then it was GONE.

Child Rape, initial reports were that Paterno did not see it (and never did see it) and was NOT told it was child rape, only that something upsetting had happened. Subsequent reports were more detailed. I too wish they had just picked up the phone! But I see nothing wrong with getting your boss involved. If you see someone murdered at work I see nothing wrong with telling your boss, and making sure police are called too of course.

You have to understand there is a huge corporate structure going on there. It is WRONG that the phone was not the first thing they turned to but when SO many people were turning to the corporate structure and not the phone, it really is something that needs to be carefully studied and revamped--how did they as a corporation create an environment where all the employees didnt think or want to or felt uncomfortable to just call the police?

Found this:
Coupon, related to "cope" and "coup", is of French origin. It has developed an American pronunciation variant with an unhistorical y-sound not justified by the spelling. This pronunciation is used by educated speakers and is well-established as perfectly standard, although it is sometimes criticized. Its development may have been encouraged by analogy with words like curious, cupid, and cute, where c is followed by a “long u” and the /y/[y] is mandatory.

Out and About? I think we're now at a point where we need a law like this. We're in a new era of huge corporations and pressures to keep things contained within the corporation. Whistle blower laws as someone mentioned have become necessary now. The law should also provide FULL protection of your job and so on if you are reporting something on the job. All the janitors in the Penn State case were afraid they would lose their jobs.

Maybe corporations should also have trainings and so on to encourage employees to not be afraid to go outside the corporate veil when they see a crime. It's very sad to have to tell people what to do when they see something that horrific, but if that's how it's gotta be that's how it's gotta be.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no downside whatsoever to mandatory reporting.

There is more money and prestige in college football than there is in stupid little Figure 8 productions. It isnt the CHILDREN that upset people, it's the MONEY being spent on something scandalous that upsets them. The mainstream media will never follow up or put public pressure on Figure 8, TLC, Discovery Inc, because it is, in itself, a media company which owns part of all major affiliates. They will never look at themselves when it is so much more fun to look at the good-ol-boys of Penn State and college football.
The maze that is public media is too confusing for most people and isnt something that folks want to face or advertisers want you to know about. So much nicer to think of one little pervert alone in a room with one of two pics of Hannah being coached to pull down her unnawares for the cameras, and now in jail - case closed.

Bibby said...

I might catch hell for saying this, but here goes. I don't see the big deal of the photo.

Yeah, it's a little "Look how sexy I am in my big fancy house." But if you look at the other photos of celebrities, the FULL photos on the ARC website (not just the cropped versions), Danny Bonaduce looks like he's crashed on the couch sick with a hangover and about to vomit, and that other woman is standing in a nice fancy house, too ( albeit, not with a sexy pose ). Kevin Bacon is sitting in what looks like his lavish backyard garden with his legs wide open!
I don't know. I'm on the fence with this one. If she had never posted the full photo on her website, ARC would've just cropped it from the chest up and used it and it wouldn't be a big deal. They definitely would've used the photo if so many people who dislike Kate didn't email them and complain.
I am in NO WAY defending her. I can't stand her. I think she's a complete bitch.
But I think this whole thing is an uproar because it's Kate getting more undeserved attention. Not necessarily the photo. In my opinion, Bonaduce's is just as tacky and nobody got all upset about that one.

When I first saw the picture, I, in no way, thought she looked nude. You can see her shirt! I agree it's corny of Kate trying to pose like a pin up girl, but it's no more tacky than Bonaduce's hangover pose. I guess what I'm trying to say is, seriously, if hers is going to be complained about then a couple others should've been complained about, as well. But this is more about Kate getting more attention she doesn't deserve.

Please don't rheem me a new one. I have hated that woman since the very first episode and have trashed her no less than 100 times on these boards. Cannot STAND her. Would love to smack her. But I think this uproar makes her naysayers look ridiculous because it's really about hatred for Kate and not a dumb photo she took of herself. I think any photo she submitted would've been ripped apart and nitpicked. I would not be saying this if some of the other celeb photos were being questioned, too. Because a couple of the other photos have just as much disrespect as hers does. I'm more appalled at Bonaduce's. He looks terrible and drugged up. I do not agree at all his is more tasteful than hers.
In all honestly, and I sound like a sheeple but I'm not, I feel like this is just something to slam Kate about because she seems to be succeeding with her "new job" and slithering back into the media. That turd is floating back up to the top of the toilet bowl.

Please don't blast me. This is just how I see it. My opinion. I still love y'all :)

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Bibby, I think your opinion is completely reasonable. It's the other side of the coin.

The bigger problem I'm having though, is that the Red Cross didn't like the photo, and it really doesn't matter how appropriate Kate or anyone else thinks it is, they asked her to choose a different one and she refused.

The story here is, Kate told the Red Cross to F-off.

There are lots of things we comply with that we don't agree with, but we comply with them because authorities asked us to and we respect that. Airport security. I'm not a terrorist, I never break any regulations about carrying things on planes, shouldn't I be able to just walk around security. But I don't, because I respect that the TSA wants to screen me along with everyone else innocent. I go through it like everyone else.

It's about having respect for organizations that are making reasonable requests and just going along with it.

PENN STATE
I think you guys are missing the point and blurring the facts in comparing the disgusting Penn St story with the Blakenship thing.

First of all you have a legendary coach who has been coaching there since 1950! Let that sink in. Add to that the fact that it (was) considered one of the solid, wholesome programs in college sports. Penn St has a history of graduating its athletes, very little trouble off the field, and mix in the whole small-town persona.

The difference is TEN YEARS AGO one of the assistants walks into the locker rooms and finds Sandusky (coach) sodomizing a 10 year old kid in the shower.

And does nothing but mention it to his father and a couple of people. Who, in turn, do nothing themselves.

It's quite a bit more serious than having some kiddie pix on your PC (although this makes me sick to my stomach, as well.)

As big as this story is right now it might not be big enough. We only know the tip of the iceberg. There are at least 40 charges and incidents against Sandusky.

This story will only get weirder and more nauseating as it progresses and more truths come out. A bit like kHate's appearance as she injects her horseface with shit, wears magic bras, adds blindingly white teeth to her already overcrowded mouth and cooks her skin to an Oompa Loompa orange in the name of fame.

When I first saw the Danny Bonaduce picture I thought it looked like he just gave blood, hence the large band-aid on his arm right where they would insert the needle. I'm sticking with that impression, whether it was set up to look that way or if he actually gave blood it was a clever picture.

I decided to watch one of the older epis of Jon/Kate plus 8 were they went to church as a family and then had lunch in a park. I couldn't help but notice a gentleman who looked exactly like Steve sitting next to them at church. Was Steve around that long? The tups were 3, almost four at the time?

Don't know if this has been mentioned already but there are some people who wonder why Kate speaks a bit odd, like she's always asking a question. I live in central Pa. and a lot of people talk this way. Kate speaks pretty clear to me compared to some of my husband's relatives. It's something I don't think she can correct especially since she still lives here in Pa. It's just her accent from this part of the country.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Stewmama I've heard a lot of people speaking like that too, minus the stupidity. The inflection in speech is familiar. Jon's accent sounds more like my Philly area friends.

I found the accent annoying at first, but you get used to it.

PA is a very interesting and diverse place. I have never heard so many different accents form one area. Some Easterners sound like Jersey or NYC, there's a Philly accent, Kate's interesting accent, northerners sound like upstate New Yorkers, westerners sound more midwest. Very fascinating.

Sport I don't think we're missing the point. We're asking that there be outrage over everyone who is a pedophile. Not just pedophiles part of storied football programs.

What he did was horrendous, but I can assure you I have ready police reports in my day a million times worse.

It's just a commentary on how things are--white guy in perfect career in perfect football program and it all goes crashing down. Hispanic guy who rapes his stepdaughter in the inner city? Eh, CPS will handle that right?

Sorry Admin, poor choice of words and hastily written on my part. I realized is after I hit submit.

I meant to compare the two and explain why the Penn St was obviously higher profile and NOT to attack people's opinions. Apologies all. I promise to have my coffee before posting in the future.

This story just disgusts me and has really hit a nerve of mine.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Sport don't apologize I think it's so outrageous that there is no right thing to say and especially for those who have connections to the school or even the state or heck even Big Ten it's hard to sort of reconcile it.

The victims are of course first and foremost, but there is a real grieving process here for a lot of people too who grew up with this program.

I think Kate's uptalk is an affected speech pattern that she's acquired more recently. She demonstrated none of that in the J&K+8 couch interviews.

I think this speech pattern can be found, mostly if not virtually entirely, in women from coast to coast.

It's as fake and as easily turned on as her baby voice.

I get what you're saying, Sport. Good points.

TLC stinks said...

Gaby, Steve has been around for a very long time. He wasn't shown on purpose in the beginning, just accidentally like you saw in that episode.

What gets me is that if Kate is concerned about her safety from a crazy fan (or non-fan), why would she be running BY HERSELF on country roads?

I thought in the beginning maybe TLC was just providing some security in terms of keeping fans away from the family while filming, but people began to notice him when she went, without Jon, on those book tours and church speaking engagements. I think that's when Jon's radar picked up something. That is also around the time Kate had lost weight and dressed nicely in her Ann Taylor Loft clothes. Once she got a taste of celebrity without Jon and Steve's solo attention, she was done with Jon except to keep up the appearance of a marriage for the show.

I am amused. Kate's pro site are saying that Dave Schrader is so young that is why he backed down. Just lack of experience. He is about 38 yrs old with much experience.

Sport I don't blame anyone for being upset and having things come out. It is good that we can discuss this here and be patient when things come out that are maybe something we disagree with or not how we would handle it (so we think) or the facts are wrong or whatever it may be, but still manage to discuss it without it getting too heated.

Daisy, I think the sheeple have a point. Dave probably has never dealt with a problem as big as Kate Gosselin. Who has? I think Dave wants it to GO AWAY. The poor sheeple must be so confused now. Kate says donate to the Red Cross, so I should donate, but the Red Cross is being so mean to Kate! What's a sheeple to do?

Apparently two reporters are investigating something even worse: that Sandusky had a prostitution ring going using boys and allowing some wealthy donors to use them as they wished to. And his foster home was just a way to exploit (I'm putting it nicely) boys who had no family or anyone to protect them.

It makes me feel like vomiting, seriously. If this has been going on since the 70s, as the reports are saying, HOW MANY boys (who are now men) did he molest/abuse?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Dallas, pass the vomit bucket, I mentioned that yesterday too. It is DEF a wild rumor BUT, other wild rumors in this have panned out, who even knows.

A reporter believes Sandusky could have been funneling boys up to large donors as "rewards." Stop and think about that a second, vomit and repeat.

Now, thinking about that, *I* think Sandusky was LET GO in 1999 because THEY KNEW ABOUT IT, AT LEAST SOME OF IT. They just wanted him gone, nothing to see here, get out of our sight so I can not think about this and try to have a conscience.

As I said yesterday, this might ultimately be the biggest coverup in college sports history.

Moose Mania said... The kids paid for it. Don't you know that everything she does is for the kids? They needed and wanted her to look like this. She better be careful. Sally Jessy comes to mind.

(((((((((((((((((

Of course the kids' money paid for it, she is nothing and has nothing on her own. I think what she means when she says "I do it all for the kids" is that she does it all to PROMOTE herself, which in her mind is providing for the kids. I know she cant shut up about wanting an interviewer's job, but I still think what she actually wants is a Diva Housewife Show job, where she can shriek and flap and be RUUUUDE to others and get paid for it. So she tries so hard to plastic and tramp herself up to look the part.

What I dont understand, I really do not, is why she doesnt try a bit. Why cant she speak or act like someone you would want to invite onto your personal television set? What did she think that nasty rude appearance in Chicago would accomplish? If for some reason she chose to be disagreeable to the people in the studio, she didnt even TRY to be warm and agreeable to viewers. How does she think she will get a job acting like this?

Kate, if I invite you onto my TV in my living room every day, what you will do for me? Will you provide great interviews with interesting people? No - coz you cut them off and you dont ask them good questions and you interrupt them to talk about yourself. Will you be fun and warm and friendly? No - coz you love to act aloof and rude and condescending. Will you share new recipes or home tips with me? No - I am already using the soup can recipes you call your own and you dont DO things in your own home so your tips are made up, dont make sense, and are too strenuous for me to try to decode. Will you teach me tips about friendships, family, office protocols? No - there is none of that in your own life and you have nothing to offer, in fact you are in need of your OWN help. Your babies are older now and I am adverse to what I have seen of your parenting. I am 10x the mom you are so dont try to coach me on that.

You want to coach me on plastic surgery tips? I am not interested. How to make up reasons to keep a paid companion around? Ppfftt, I am a grown woman and not in middle school and I am not interested in that. How to wield a red mixing spoon? Not interested in the least.

Why should I invite you in, Kate? Why shouldnt I change the channel when you come on?

How often is it that there is actually a witness to the rape of a child? Not often I imagine, unless the witness is somehow involved as well. What I find so outrageous about the Penn State occurence is that it appears to have been allowed to continue without severe consequences.

bm

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

There are witnesses more often than you would think. A lot of these guys, as they get more and more comfortable that they are getting away with it, start to get sloppy and careless.

If you look at the Grand Jury report, I think there were at least three eye witnesses, not to mention dozens of people they told. It was NOT just McQueary, it was also a janitor at Penn State, and an adult at a high school.

Bibby said...Please don't rheem me a new one.
------------------------------------------------
I agree, but what's wrong with that? I think the general uproar is that Katie Irene doesn't have a charitable fiber in her body and is using the campaign as a self marketing tool. So, by my way of thinking, stopping her is a good thing.

Katie's manager is doing a terrific job. The commonality between the nine photo's is a deep Philadelphia connection. The Red Cross has Cosby, the mayor, a former Eagle QB, Bacon - who grew up there, some guy in the orchestra, at least three radio/TV people (including Danny Boy), etc. The only one I never heard of is Beth Shak, who is a professional poker player who does charity tournaments for CHOP. The county services map on the Red Cross website lists 5 counties. Berks county is not listed. So, how did she get included? My guess is her manager begged for the opportunity.

To take my thought process a step further, the backlash that surrounds Katie erupted and Schrader was told to fix it asap. So he did.

Somewhere along the line, Schrader must have been asked why someone who lived an hour away with no Philadelphia connection was included in the Philly Home Fire campaign. I don't think he had a good answer. Who knows --- there may have been some quid pro quo involved, but in the end the uproar wasn't worth it.

Power to the people.

I just looked at the grand jury report again to refresh my memory, and it was a gosh darn WRESTLING COACH that saw Sandusky lying down with a child on a wrestling mat. Yeah, the coach thought it was f-ing WEIRD.

I might catch hell for saying this, but here goes. I don't see the big deal of the photo.

^^^^^^^

I showed the photo to my 20-something daughter, who is as conservative as the day is long, and wasn't even sure about having me with her in the delivery room. She won't even wear two-piece swimsuits. She looked at it and said, "What's wrong with it...you can see she's wearing a cami or a white tee shirt, nothing is hanging out, her legs aren't even exposed. She's not naked."

Personally, I think it's a bit on the tacky side. Bottom line is that the Red Cross thought it was less than appropriate and asked her to submit another one. Out of respect for them, she should comply.

Not everything that happens in the world should cause a direct line back to Kate and all that she does wrong.

There is no correlation between the Blankinship/Kate/TLC story and the Penn State story, other than there are pedophiles involved in both cases. There should be outrage in both cases, of course. But if people expressed outrage every time a pedophile did something, we wouldn't have enough time in the day to do anything else. The vast majority of the outrage at Penn State is over the "covering up." To the best of my knowledge, there was no "covering up" in Blankinship's case. So there is no reason to even mention Kate's name in the same paragraph as anyone involved in the Penn State case.

Regarding the Red Cross picture. Yes, people are now up in arms because Kate said FU to the Red Cross. She's being hard headed and stubborn. But FIRST people were up in arms because of the picture itself. If she hadn't eventually said FU to the Red Cross, you would still be talking about the picture and how skanky it is. So I agree with Bibby completely on this.

Pronunciation of coupon, Kate's face and how it's changed, etc. = irrelevant nitpicking topics of the day.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

To the best of my knowledge, there was no "covering up" in Blankinship's case.

&&&&&&&

How do we know this for sure? We know hardly ANYTHING about that case. Where is the grand jury report in that case I can read? Oh right, there is none. I disagree, I think all pedophiles should be in the same sentence and all held accountable as well as all coverups. What I'm saying is, there is not enough demand for answers in the Blankinship case. They should take a lead from this case and demand the same answers. How do we know no one knew??? I have a hundred questions about that case no one can answer.

This was a TINY company, not a huge corporation. If a huge corporation could have stumbled upon bad things happening, why not a tiny one? What is being done to ask what happened here, HOW did this happen, how dod NO ONE KNOW, allegedly? How did a pedophile get hired? How much access does he have to tapes? Where are all the tapes now including the naked footage? Who has access to them? What kind of background checks were done on him? What kind of background checks were done on those with direct access to the kids? What is the procedure for storing old footage? What will be done with all the naked footage now that we know that pedophiles had access to it? Who worked with Blankinship? Have they been interviewed? Did they ever see anything concerning?

I think what is being said is that just as many questions should be asked in ALL horrible cases, including Blankinship. The outrage at Penn state is GOOD. I demand for answers is GOOD. It should happen in the Blankinship case too, and it's not.

I think I need to put this out there, I think your username, Wait a Minute..., is rather condescending in and of itself. Perhaps you could pick a new one.

You don't know with 100% certainty. And it should be up to the Red Cross to determine who they want to represent their organization, not the public. I trust that they have plenty of intelligent people who are capable of vetting their spokespeople and deciding whether or not they wish to include them in their campaigns.

Unless it can be proven that 1) she is using this as self promotion 2) she actually gets something from it as a result of that self promotion and 3) her children are somehow harmed by whatever it is she gets, it shouldn't matter. And actually, if she somehow managed to find paid work that didn't involve her children as a result of this self-promotion, then you're taking from her children by "stopping her." So *that's* what's wrong with criticizing any picture that Kate submitted to the Red Cross just because it was her.

Look at it this way. Have you ever tried to hide something, like a Christmas gift? Ever get busted? I know I have. It's hard to hide things.

Blankinship is being charged with, I believe 20 counts??? How did he hide all that child porn?? And no one, not a single person in his home life or at work, ever, ever stumbled upon it? Even at a work where he was working daily with footage of kids, he was able to hide all his deviant feelings about them?

That would be quite impressive and I have my doubts about that.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Even look at Sanduskey. The report is FULL of people who, while they did not see anything direct like child rape, saw things ODD about him.

Sandusky having kids over at his house, giving them gifts, expensive gifts like computers and snowboards, Sandusky upset when a kid wouldn't return his excessive phone calls or broke off the relationship, kids tagging along everywhere including his hotel room, odd things going on like Sandusky having private meetings with kids at schools or being caught wrestling them or being alone with them for no reason.

There are many people in the report who are basically saying, something was seriously OFF about that guy but I couldn't put my finger on it. You have to wonder, how many people thought something was seriously OFF about Blankinship. Perhaps even, his own employer?
