Some interesting facts: Kate was just on the Joy Behar show that day, August 8, where Joy wouldn't let her off easy. When Kate tried to sidestep some questions about fertility and blame it on something other people tweeted, Joy threw her own quotes back at her, "No, no, no this is you" Joy told her as she read the quote back to her. Joy also told her she was going to have a really hard time finding a man, and "I think you would be better off going with lesbianism because a woman would be probably easier." Kate's reply? "Oh, my gosh."State police at Ephrata used radar to catch the former "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star speeding on Route 222 North, near Route 897, according to a traffic docket filed at District Judge Rodney Hartman's office. It happened on Aug. 9 at 1:37 a.m. In the remarks on the traffic citation, police reported that Gosselin said she was speeding because she was trying to get home to her kids. Gosselin mailed in her guilty plea and paid a $174 fine.

Along with the horrible food problems Kate has saddled them with nearly from birth, I can't imagine that there aren't more than a few tummy problems from stress and fear in that family. It is not meant to make a pregnant widow feel bad, but rather a judgment call that this is not right for this blog. And if she needs support, she is not alone, she can go to a church group or therapy or an internet support group or make friends with school parents or all the other ways people get support. Regardless whether Route 222 is a superhighway or a rural road, what's the difference? You need to be careful. All of the cars she has have cruise control, set it at the speed limit, or if you must, a few over, and just leave it. I can see losing track of your speed at a few over, but 23 over!!! Give me an f-ing break. And when she kills someone, the judge is not going to care one bit about her excuse that she lost track of her speed.
You know practically everyone I know who has been in a car accident had it take place on a rural road. The two friends of mine who died in car accidents, remarkably, died at the SAME intersection.
There were also close friends of my grandparents who were nearly killed on one of those long country roads with someone who didn't see the stop sign. Another friend of a relative who nearly killed in a firey crash after hitting a deer. My great-grandfather was also nearly killed hitting a deer.
Personally due to my own family experiences rural roads to me are all the more reason to be careful, I find them incredibly dangerous.

I think reality tv has brought up one of the biggest ethical questions in the history of television.
They are preying on unstable, narcissistic, dysfunctional people. That's all the want for their shows. These are the kind of people that, unlike stable people, don't know when to say no, aren't able to see the exploitation in front of their nose, are just encouraged to be even more outrageous to maintain their fame and career on reality.
Do producers of these shows bear some responsibility for preying on these vulnerable people? I think so. Should laws be in place requiring networks provide outside counsel for reality tv folks signing contracts? I think so. Perhaps we should even require mental health assessments and clearance from a mental health professional to participate. Much like requiring clearance from your physician like they do for Survivor or Amazing Race.
I'm telling you, there's nothing as dangerous as locals who know the rural roads and speed up your ass and pass you within an inch of your life because you're taking the blind curves seriously.

My suspicious feelers came up when I read the first post - the anniversary part, coupled with 10 kids and being pregnant. TEN kids, not six, or seven, but ten kids, more than Kate has (for a reason).
I haven't read all of the posts because something just didn't sound right, but I have a question. Has that person ever addressed the accusations of having invented this story? I seem only to remember what she said was you can believe what you want, but there was no firm affirmation that everything she said was true, nor a denial that she was a fake.

I'm not sure what I think about the show yet. I know it's a huge hit in England, and it does seem to involve some coaching by the judges,which is different, so I'll wait to see, but that was a huge turnoff for me.

There are different iPads. One (the most expensive) connects over wireless, like a smartphone - but the iPad doesn't have a phone. You need to pay a monthly plan, like a phone. The less expensive model, but still $500, needs a wi-fi network. Assuming Kate has a router in her home, then the kids would have internet access on the iPad.
The guy on twitter who looks like Hank Williams Jr, who knows way too much about the children for my comfort, tweeted Kate, "Don't ignore me...:P"

Sorry if considerably late to the 'foods my parents foisted on me' discussion but wanted to add prunes. For dessert one night. Probably dating myself but I didn't eat them that night, nor the next three meals they were presented. Mom finally took pity on me and told my dad I ate them. I sort of went 'uh oh' today when I saw that the 50-something washed-up actor who married the 16-year-old porn star-looking girl is getting a reality show. But then I remember than Jon has a say too, if and when the situation arises. Whew.

The cheapest iPad available from apple right now is $500. We've been shopping for one for our daughter, a senior in high school. So 5 x $500 = $2500.
She'll accept them all. She has NO shame.

Sadly, though, it may be a prediction of things to come, and it puts the kids in a bad light. What if they see it? What if their peers get hold of it? Would Leah really like being shown like that - would Hannah really want to be seen with a pregnant belly? Talk about teasing kids at school - what if their classmates saw this? You better believe that this would be just one more reason to bully them. It may show Kate in all her greed and whackiness, but what would it do to the children? They are finally off television, finally free of cameras being shoved into their faces, and then we have this video circulating and could possibly be shown on television. Is it never going to end for them?
In response to comments from locals not being welcomed here, I was just trying to correct some errors being circulated in regards to where Kate was driving, in addition to pointing out that this is a known area where deer cross, and how dangerous it is to drive over the speed limit in this area. I also took a drive to see how fast 83 "feels" on this highway, and it's clearly unsafe. I apologize if I brought garbage to the blog that made it not seem credible. That was not my intention and I am very sorry. Therefore, I think that it's time for me to go.

That is exactly what I said. I made no excuses for her. In fact, I said that she should have her license taken away. She could very easily lose control of her car. It happens quite frequently here, and speeding is almost always the cause. If she ends up seriously injuring or killing someone, she's going to have more media attention than she ever dreamed of having - only not the kind she wants.

I haven't heard your stories,but I felt bad when you said you felt unwelcome here.I haven't lost a child, but I love hearing the personal stories people share.It gives all of us here a human, loving side we share as part of the Earth we all live on.I don't know what your loss feels like, but I can listen.
I think the majority of us are women ,Mothers& Grandmas, but all of us are daughters! Some people don't understand how cathartic it is to spill your feelings on a blog; we can only talk to our husbands,families and friends so much.I think we all watched the Gosselin kids and wondered what kind of a mother Kate was and kept watching when we saw how she related to her kids!
I'm an R.P.N., so I had to keep watching to see if I could figure out what the heck was wrong with her! I can hear people saying, well go to a blog about grief, divorce or whatever if you want to talk about yourselves.
Don't listen to them; Admin. accepts us as we are and welcomes us here to share our feelings and stories.If other people don't like it, they can use the arrow and zip right by our posts.
I just want to ask you to please stay and don't let a few anonymous posters hurt you.They really don't matter in the big scheme of things.I have felt the way you do, but was encouraged by the really caring people on this blog to come back.
To make a short story long, please stay and share with us.There are too few caring, sincere people in this world; we need to stick together and help each other while we figure out these Gosselins.

I agree with everything you said. When I think of how damaging it was for many child stars, I shudder to think of what damage is being done to the children on reality shows. I've come to the conclusion that minor children should not even be in these reality shows. I think that the potential for long-term damage and its effects is too high.

That's exactly what I was trying to say but you worded it better. I think there are going to be strong repercussions down the road due to hiring and filming people with serious psychiatric/personality disorder issues and filming their children and all their private moments....and filming children whose parents are clearly not looking out for their best interests. These children have already been dealt a bad hand in terms of having severely narcissistic parents and dysfunctional families....and then they get thrown on reality TV to boot. It's a recipe for horrors down the road.
I see a slew of lawsuits coming down the pike.
And I'm just beginning to see the tide turning a bit regarding these reality shows. I can tell from reading the comments being written on the celebrity sites and blogs. People are becoming more and more disgusted with the behavior of many of these reality stars....to the point of no longer watching the shows....similar to what happened to the ratings for Kate plus 8. For many viewers, it gets to a point where it's no longer entertainment but becomes just too uncomfortable to watch.
The reality show genre is really turning out to be one huge bizarro phenomenon.....and I think there will be repercussions from this for years to come. And the stations/companies that create, film and televise these reality shows seem to have no worries whatsoever about the possibility of some really serious future problems in the future. In fact, they seem to be riding on a cloud of euphoria (ie: Andy Cohen, TLC, Bravo, etc.)...with not a care in the world. I think they're gonna be in for a big shock down the road.

Re: prairiemary and Layla.....I also lost a child (in 2005)....my youngest son in a MVA when he was 17. And it has permanently destroyed me in many ways (but I have 2 other sons who I am so very grateful for and make my life worth living). And for me, this is relevant to the topic of this blog in terms of the apparent reality that Kate seems to have no gratitude for the fact that all her children were born healthy and remain healthy (and it is high risk when having sextuplets) and seems to have no worries about screwing up her children or even losing some of them....or totally screwing up their lives for good and forever.
I don't think the bloggers here need to have lost a child in order to fully realize how awful Kate's treatment of her children and lack of gratitude for them is.....but it just makes it more intense. To have lost a child (or be unable to have a child)....yet see this ungrateful woman have so much...such beautiful and healthy children...and to see her think nothing of destroying their futures and treating them like props/belongings makes me even more sick.
It seems so unfair, to be blunt. Why should she get so many blessings, when she is so ungrateful and non-caring...and seems to think nothing of ruining their futures? Yet wonderful parents lose children. Or can't even have children in the first place. Why does that happen? How unfair is the universe to allow that?
Intellectually, I do realize this is just random and happens to many parents....but it's still very upsetting on an emotional level.

Hi, I'm so sorry that you lost your son, bad things happen to good people and then Kate gets hers and treats them like shit.ITA with you re: Kate.It's not fair that she even has any kids and cares so little about them. I just don't understand that, but then, I'm not crazy either.
She has many problems and those poor kids are going to be bearing the brunt of her anger even more now, with no show.It's about to get a whole lot worse for them.

My oldest is a bad asthmatic and had several very close calls as a baby.I almost lost my mind then, that's why my heart hurts for you and anyone who has lost a child.Once, when my daughter was very ill, my Mom told me that she had lost twins, three days after birth.
I asked her why she was telling me that now?I'm in my 20's! She said she never wanted my little brother and I to feel that we were replacements for them, in any way.Do you think Kate could ever have such an unselfish thought,uh,no never. I'm worried that Kate is being so quiet right now.Who would know what's going on in that house?

Who said locals aren't welcomed here? The only thing I saw was perhaps too much info was posted, bus stop times, etc. But never have I have seen 'not welcomed'. I enjoy your posts a lot. the info on the road she got the ticket on was interesting and told the real story. I hope you decide to stay. I don't get all this stuff that is going on.

Thank you for such support and wonderful-ish-nes. And dee3, I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard for most to grasp the enormity of losing such a precious gift from God,and perhaps it makes us a little more judgemntal when we see someone who has been given the kinds of gifts that we would give our lives to get back. And it makes us treasure what we have even more (in my case, the blessings I was able to give birth to and my adopted ones). And I sill freely admit to being judgmental about parents who do not appreciate their children.
Moving on, I loved seeing Nancy Grace on DWTS. I really like her show because she is not afraid to give people heck, and I noticed that when she goes off on people, most of the time they laugh. Made me wonder if perhaps she is tough when it comes to legalities, but in reality is a great, fun person. Her guests never sem put off by her. And then seeing her on DWTS, it does seem that she is basically normal and funny and much more "real" than someone like Kate, who is such a shrew to everyone,then puts on a dress and heels and tries to be something totally different on talk shows. As for DWTS, Chynna and JR are my favorites, followed by NG. NG is giving all her earnings to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and I love that! That alone shows that she lives up to her last name!

I'm sorry that you lost a friend in a senseless accident too.It is just as painful as a family member, pain is pain.They always say that it will get better with time,it will be less painful.
We grieve and time passes, but we can recall it instantly; we are just less raw emotionally.
Kate will receive 4 points with the latest speeding ticket. The ticket points from August will be added and if it is over 6 points Kate will be required to go to driving school. Let her "cry it up" to get out of that. Better have her be a no show and have a bench warrant issued. Lordy be, in a holding cell at the local prison. Now, that is fodder for a reality show. Or, Celebrity rehab.
